The Lumineers is a popular folk-rock band based in Denver, CO. Its spare, soulful sound draws inspiration from lyrical heartland rockers like Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, and Tom Petty. With every new show, The Lumineers prove that American folk music is alive and well in the 21st century.

In 2005, Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites worked together to form The Lumineers. The pair met and began making music together in Ramsey, NY. They moved to Brooklyn to pursue their dream of a music career, and later went to Denver. The band’s subsequent success was all thanks to its constant reinvention and collective desire to improve.

Over the years, The Lumineers gained more members like Neyla Pekarek, Maxwell Hughes, Ben Wahamaki, and Jay Van Dyke. Each new member contributed various musical skills and offered new creative twists to The Lumineers’ signature sound before its eventual departures. Despite the band’s ever-changing member lineup, the original founders Schultz and Fraites kept things fresh.

The band’s swift success began when “Ho Hey” hit radio waves in 2012. It differed from the usual pop-friendly tracks with its classic folk-rock twist. The single reached unbeatable heights on numerous charts across the globe and set up impending success for the band. Soon enough, The Lumineers’ unique self-titled record earned the group a Best New Artist nomination at the 2013 Grammys. It turned the tables on popular music and marked the beginning of a solid career.

After gaining well-deserved commercial success, The Lumineers geared up for more groundbreaking albums. Cleopatra followed in 2016, showcasing the band’s delightful versatility and proving its place in pop culture. Cleopatra sat comfortably at the top of the UK and U.S. charts and helped the band’s third full-length record III shake up its stellar discography.

III told a touching story of personal struggles, allowing The Lumineers to reach its full potential as a riveting band in 2019. Not only did it captivate fans with more creative diversity, but it stuck to the band’s original roots. III peaked at number 2 in the U.S., securing another incredible accomplishment for The Lumineers.

The Lumineers hit up 2022 with renewed vigor. Its fourth studio release, Brightside, breathed life into a promising record collection and proved the band was more polished than ever. It was no surprise, especially with Schultz and Fraites at the helm. True star power and lyrical storytelling weaved its way into each soulful track, shedding new light on The Lumineers’ music career.

Throughout its illustrious career, the band has maintained a revolutionary vision, building a cohesive collection of all-star albums while reinventing the folk-rock genre. Besides a game-changing discography, The Lumineers also liven things up with unifying concert experiences.

From Madison Square Garden to Red Rocks Amphitheatre, The Lumineers make a home in every legendary venue. Fans can’t deny the band’s presence on stage, especially with its subtle sound reverberating throughout each smash song or low-key ballad. The Lumineers constantly represent incredible versatility without showing any signs of stopping. Ultimately, the band takes indie elements to the next level while capturing the magic of true lyricism.

Live reviews

First off, The Lumineers are one of my all time favourite bands. Watching them live was an amazing experience! The atmosphere they created in the small cozy venue made it feel like they were my friends playing up there, as if once they were done we could all sit and have a conversation. Their music in general makes me feel like this; it makes me feel at home.

Because they have only released one album, you could tell everyone knew every single song, which is always the best at a show because it felt as if the audience was so connected through it all. What was even better, was that the artists up on stage were feeding off of this community vibe to perform in a very honest kind of way with such passionate energy.

They were so comfortable with everything it made their music even more personal to me. At one point they even stopped playing to ask if everyone could put their cameras down and simply enjoy the moment and be with them in the music. And at another point during the show the lead singer (Wesley Schultz) stepped off stage, walking around the small crowd, to talk and sing acoustically with no microphones or anything electronic for a song. It was the most amazing experience I’ve had in any show, everyone crowded around Wesley listening to the purest form of music.

I’d highly recommend going to a Lumineers concert. Some seriously amazing band members who are very real, truthful, and down to earth. Not to mention, their music has the most balanced mix of instruments and lyrics that make you want to pay attention to every word. I’m really not just saying all this. I’m a real person who can honestly say the Lumineers’ concert was one of the best ones I’ve ever been to in my life.

I was introduced to the music of the Lumineers through one of my children who is now 20. On hearing this group for the very first time and then listening to their first album, I was taken aback with the exceptional talent and originality of this band.

Their sound is utterly unique, which is an incredibly hard thing to achieve with all the talented musicians of the current day and also of past years.

These three young musicians have made their own trademark sound - which is easily recognisable as "their" music.

For me, the lyrics of their songs are "deep" and intellectually superior to most lyrics of songs that we are all used to hearing. At the time their music is upbeat and, once heard, is not forgotten. Their music has intense energy!

If you are familiar with the Lumineers' music, then you will understand my appreciation and fascination with this band. The vocals are intense and strong - and appealing for all age groups.

I went along to the London concert with my sister and my younger daughter (age 14), and they had a great time at the concert.

The Lumineers poured their heart, soul and energy into their performance and their passion for what they have created could be clearly seen.

These three young, attractive and gifted musicians have everything that makes them stand out from the crowd. I am confident that this very special band will continue to develop their great music and grow further in popularity to music listeners not only in London but throughout other countries.

If you ever have the chance to listen to the Lumineers or get tickets to one of their concerts, don't pass up the opportunity - you will be hooked!!!!

It was a lot of fun getting to experience this eclectic music genre. I love classic rock, folk, blue grass, and the blues. The Lumineers seem to be a blend of all 4 genres that I find very appealing.

I loved their mourning of not doing house parties anymore so they came out and as middle of the audience they could and they sang a couple of songs. That is when we got to hear Neyla's voice on it's own. WOW! she has an asset they are under utilizing. Next album they need let her have more solos and add this dimension to their portfolio.

I especially love her cello playing and this is exactly why I love the Lumineers, I realized last night. The cello gives their music that something unique that makes them great. Wesley really needs to get humble and acknowledge better what she contributes. Without her they would be more run of the mill. Also then maybe she would look happy to be doing what she is doing. Come on guys her smile is beautiful and charming so make her smile more!

Not that the rest of the band isn't very talented...it is just the extra special difference and talent needs to be honored that has put them on the world stage.

I have never seen The Lumineers in concert before and I love their music so I was excited to finally see them. They came to the new Smart Financial Center in Sugar Land. I have never been to this venue before and I liked it. I will definitely be going back. The concert actually started on time, which was very surprising to me and I liked that very much. Susto was the first band to come out and play for us. I had never heard of them, but I enjoyed their music. Next was Kaleo, which I had never hear of either, but turns out I did know one of their songs. I really enjoyed seeing them perform. Finally, The Lumineers came out and it was great. They totally knew how to put on a show. They gave us back stories to the songs "Gun Song" and "Charlie Boy" that I did not know and I appreciated that. They talked to the crowd, told us how much they appreciate the fans, played all the songs the fans know, and even went into the middle of the audience to play a couple songs. I would definitely recommend people to see them because it is so worth it. I am very happy that I got the chance to see them. I left the show not wanting it to end.

Honestly, the Lumineers is not the kind of band I would see every year if I had the possibility to do so. The problem is that the sound exactly the same live and on their albums in my opinion. This, along with the huge arena venues they play in, makes the show feel like I'm listening to a record with 20,000 other people: impersonal. It's just not the kind of band you dance to with the crowd, for instance. Don't get me wrong, I had a great time, but a more intimate setting (though, judging their popularity, I don't think this will happen) would be much more appropriate.

One thing I did like: the singer and songwriter Wesley often interacts with the audience, and explains the personal stories that inspired the songs. He was on the brinks of tears when he told us that Long Way From Home was about his father's fight (and eventual demise) against cancer. These stories make you look at the songs in another light. Another surprise: Neyla (the cellist) has an amazing voice! They should give her a more prominent singing role.

All in all, 2.5/5

Wow. What an amazing show. It's such a cool experience to find a band in obscurity, and know they will soon be famous. That's how is was when I discovered the Lumineers in 2013...and they have only gotten better. Last night's concert was exactly why they are what they are. Original songwriting, perfect accompaniment, and the feeling and sound of a band that you met early that hasn't left their original sound. It is such an amazing experience to me, to find a band that you love...and just a few short years later they are headlining. When I stood in that audience, and listened to everyone sing lyrics along to every song....it's such a surreal experience.

Wes even made a point during the show, to mention how they started in people's living rooms, and that they like to get closer to their audience. They proceeded to leave the stage, walk through the crowd and play on a smaller stage, mid-crowd.

Absolutely amazing concert. One of the best I've ever been a part of. I can only say thank you to the band for such an amazing experience.

The most incredible concert! The lumineers are my favourite band, so I'm writing from the viewpoint of someone who knows all the words to every song! But even if you don't, the way the band interact with the audience and tell a story through their music is just amazing. On this tour I saw them at barrowlands in Glasgow and the usher hall in Edinburgh and the atmosphere was great in both. When you're in the audience you just know that you share the same love for their music as everyone around you and it's magical. In Edinburgh they managed to get the whole usher hall quiet and perform two songs without any microphones which they had never tried before but worked so well. The songs are powerful and most of them fairly slow, so it's not a raving concert to go to smashed and dance the night away, it's one to appreciate and to go to with your closest friends to enjoy some incredible music.

mollyporteous’s profile image

Totally worth going to their concert! I really appreciated it when the lead singer has to stop mid-song to apologize and tune his guitar. I also love his small anecdotes before some of the songs, and here I thought I could not love the songs more than I already do, but knowing where he got the inspiration from writing the songs made them absolute gold. And then I guess he noticed most of the audience were recording the show, so he made a deal with us where we are allowed us to film Ho Hey and then we were to put our phone away so we can fully enjoy the show. And everyone followed him! I did not see anyone using their phone, at all! (except the woman in front of me every now and then, but still)

All in all, they are definitely one of their favourite bands now. The other members are really amazing too!

P.S. I loved how their shirt are recycled.

Went to see the Lumineers at O2 Brixton last night. I was well familiar with the venue and like it. Standing for the young folks and seating for the ones that do not need to be smashed in a human jam sandwich to enjoy the concert.

The warm up act was ..... well lets just say that we are not running out to buy the album and the name already slips my mind.

The doors opened at 7. The Lumineers appeared at 9:10 and were promptly off the stage at 10:40. No encore performance. The music was incredible but crowd interaction was totally minimal and they were done after just getting started. This was a sold out show and unfortunately I did not get tickets at the normal price so felt a little cheated but at the end of the day, these are truly talented musicians who perform really well.

alison-d-martin’s profile image

When it comes to high tempo, high energy stompers, you can't go wrong with these three funsters from Colorado.

As usual, they went quite early with the big one ("Ho Hey") and Wes continues to encourage an actively engaged audience (over one watching through a camera lens), which leads to a far more attentive audience; indeed, by the big finish, there wasn't a man, woman or child who wasn't completely in to it.

The new album, being only 33 minutes long, proved easy to learn, with large swathes of the audience seemingly knowing most of the words to most of the songs, which again only added to the atmosphere. The trio of ladies ("Cleopatra", "Angela" and "Ophelia") all went down well with the crowd and the "Stubborn Love" finale was positively Luminescent. Outstanding fun.

The Lumineers Announce Encore ‘Brightside’ Tour

By Tomás Mier

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, Rolling Stone may receive an affiliate commission.

On the road again! After their successful Brightside World Tour last year, the group announced an encore set of shows for this fall.

The band — led by Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites — is set to open their tour in Maine in mid-August before stopping at several amphitheaters and music festivals, including Aspen’s Jazz Aspen Snowmass festival. Accompanied by James Bay as an opener, they’ll conclude their tour at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl on Sept. 15.

“We’re stoked to be back on the road, playing a run of shows in the US later this year with our good friend @jamesbaymusic,” the group wrote on Instagram.

The tour extension is in support of their 2022 album Brightside , led by singles “Where We Are,” “ A.M. Radio ,” and “Big Shot.”

Last year, they hit the road for 62 stops around the world. It was their first tour after the cancelation of shows from their III: The World Tour, due to Covid. The group made its way around Europe before hitting the road in the U.S. with CAAMP, Ashe, and Bay as openers.

Lumineers, Caamp bring quality arena-folk show to Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville

the lumineers india tour

At the emotional height of a spirited and sweltering Tuesday night show at Ruoff Music Center, two bands joined each other to sing a song written by a third artist — one who is no stranger to that Noblesville stage but who will never see it again.

Opening act Caamp joined The Lumineers for the latter's cover of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' "Walls (Circus)" in what served as a fitting snapshot of the night: Two lead vocalists filling the amphitheater air with stripped down, but by no means boring, accompaniment.

Both groups are an anomaly to folks like me who often put shows into a neat, descriptive box. Was this rock? Indie? Americana? Power bluegrass?

If arena folk is a thing, that feels the closest.

Each had the energy — especially The Lumineers — of that rare band that could be busking in a park or playing for 10 people in a coffee shop and having just as much fun, but they chose the stage in front of 15,000 screaming fans instead.

For three hours, musicians stomped their feet, sang their hearts out and wiped their sweat off one instrument and it exchanged it for another — banjos, violins, accordions, mandolins and the traditional rock 'n' roll tools.

The Lumineers were excellent.

Front man Wesley Schultz had the pulse of the crowd, most of which never sat down despite near-record heat in Central Indiana. I was at Ruoff on Friday for Styx and REO Speedwagon during a light rainstorm, but this crowd got even wetter. It was a sweaty one for all involved.

Schultz's voice was strong or gentle as needed and did not waver for an impressive 24-song set. He seemed genuinely glad to be there and sincere in his thanks — like someone who doesn't consider this a job. He even ventured out into the crowd during several songs.

More: 'It's the energy and the crowd.' Phish bring groove, wailing guitar to friendly Ruoff show

The audience sang along to nearly every song, even taking a full verse of the band's breakout hit "Ho Hey."

All the ladies were in attendance: "Ophelia," "Cleopatra," "Angela," "Donna," "Gloria." And each sounded lovely.

The band moved back and forth from a traditional tiered stage setup to a rounded area built out into the audience for the more intimate acoustic stuff. It kept things fresh as they pulled from a decade of popular, accessible material with a brief Rolling Stones ("You Can't Always Get What You Want") cover mixed in.

Despite the lure of air conditioning and escaping traffic, most in the audience stayed all the way until song 24: a screaming rendition of "Stubborn Love." I'm sure people in Fishers were wondering who was telling them to keep their head up at this late hour, but it was just us from miles away.

Caamp, playing the much smaller opening set during a warmer hour, was no slouch, either. The group felt like a natural fit when I saw the tour announcement, and it proved to be exactly that.

Taylor Meier proved himself capable of filling the space with his voice amid mostly soft acoustic backing.

The audience, myself included, dug and sang along with singles "By and By" and "Peach Fuzz." They rocked an amazing version of "No Sleep," which I was not familiar with.

One thing that was missing, and admittedly difficult to pull off in the 45-minute opening slot, was some sort of curveball to change up the set a bit. Many of their songs follow that indie folk formula of vocals and guitar to start, with other instruments adding in as they build to a big finish.

I know they often splice in a bit of "War Pigs" by Black Sabbath, which would have been fun.

It was my first Caamp show, and a solid debut.

This was my second time seeing The Lumineers. Having seen them open for U2 in front of 123,000 people at the Rose Bowl in 2017, then headline this much smaller — but by no means tiny — concert on Tuesday, I'm fairly certain they can do no wrong.

It's still a young band with seemingly plenty of tours left in the tank. When The Lumineers announce a tour, set an immediate calendar reminder and go about your day. That's my plan, anyway.

The Lumineers’ Wesley Schultz: ‘When You Make A Song, The World Gets To Attach Their Own Meaning To It’

The American indie/folk band’s frontman talks about his debut solo album ‘Vignettes,’ the first date with India and more

After years of treating music videos as mere advertisements for their songs, The Lumineers’ frontman Wesley Schultz had a change of mind when he came across pop star Beyoncé ’s 2016 visual album Lemonade . Schultz likely found in Lemonade a powerful journey of culture and ethnicity told through arresting cinematography and melodies . The singer-songwriter felt the same way when he saw indie/folk powerhouse artist Florence + The Machine’s short film The Odyssey [2016]. “Both of those women really impressed upon me how much the visuals can assist the storytelling and can really tell it even better,” Schultz says over a video call.

The twice Grammy-nominated Colorado-based band exploded to fame in 2013 with the single “Ho Hey” and their subsequent 2016 album Ballad of Cleopatra. Their latest album III (Three) was delivered as three chapters in a short story format, with music videos based on the woes of dysfunctional American families dealing with addiction. “It’s almost like if you’d imagine that there was a movie, and then they turned off all the sound. And then a band just played music over it. And there’s no dialog, it’s just the music,” says Schultz, who also released his debut solo album Vignettes in October. In that record, he mined his love for songwriting legends such as Bruce Springsteen, Tom Waits and Sheryl Crow.

In this exclusive interview with Rolling Stone India  — his first with India — the singer-songwriter discusses the band’s sonic and visual evolution, performing at the virtual edition of Bacardi NH7 Weekender this month and more. Excerpts:

Is this one of your first interactions with India?

Yeah, I think it’s one of my first if not the first interview I’ve done with someone from India. So this is exciting. I want to play there one day when I actually play there in person. I’ve talked to people who are doing it. And they rave about. I met some people along my travels that said, ‘When you come, you should visit us.’ So I really want to check it out.

With Vignettes , what’s the promo plan like in terms of videos and other stuff?

I think one of the things we did was we shot a lot of behind the scenes things at the studio, and then afterwards, performing the songs because we’re not sure when we’re gonna get back out on the road, as a band for my solo shows, as well. We’re trying to get some really meaningful and well-shot videos to accompany this album, so people can kind of get an inside look into what it really sounds like.

I played a lot of coffee shops and bars. So that’s where this album kind of comes from. I saw Bruce Springsteen on Broadway. And it just kind of reminded me of where he came from, and what he is. He could play a big stadium, but he can also play a very intimate space, and it still resonates. And so, for me, it’s nice to go back to that.

I think I’d like to do a fundraiser for the Save Our Stages [initiative for independent venues] in the U.S.. A lot of our venues are on the brink of closing or have closed. And so I think the idea would be to play a sort of virtual show, where I play the whole album, and a couple of other songs.

After creating an intimate record like Vignettes , how do you feel it’s going to feed into what you do with The Lumineers?

In a way, it was always the goal of The Lumineers’ songs was to not to be bound by an instrument or instrumentation, it can work on a lot of different levels, because we really just wanted to write good songs.

Something like “Ophelia” for us; It has a lot of sadness or loneliness in it, but it sounds really happy and upbeat. Or “Ho Hey.” I’ve heard a lot of people in the U.S. get married and their first dance is to “Ho Hey,” and I’m hesitant to say it, but I’ve started telling people because I think it’s kind of funny that it was about a breakup. And they’re dancing for the first time about a breakup, during a breakup song [ laughs ]. I had heard Bono say the same thing about their song “One,” where he was like, ‘That’s a song about someone breaking up with someone and all these people are getting married dancing to it.’ So there is this thing when you make a song, the world gets to attach their own meaning to it, which I understand. But I think a lot of that is also I think it’s really fascinating to realize some of the lyrics and some of the storytelling within the songs that you might miss some of that.

What can you tell me about the evolution of The Lumineers, both musically and visually as  storytelling music videos?

When we started, I hated music videos. I thought they were like silly advertisements for bands, I didn’t find them to be meaningful. There were a few that I did, but it felt like the business as a whole was often churning out these videos where there was a fan blowing on you. And you looked really serious. And it was just such a strange world.

I felt Pearl Jam made some really cool music videos. And there were a few examples of bands that sort of tried to tell some stories with how they did it. But then I saw Lemonade from Beyoncé, and then I saw Florence and the Machine, who did a six or seven-part video series. And both of those women really impressed upon me how much the visuals can assist the storytelling and can really tell it even better.

With our first album, the videos felt sort of like an obligation. And then, Cleopatra , we worked with this great director, Isaac Ravishankara, who was actually a scientist. He went to Harvard and then started making music videos. He’s done that for a long time now, so he really helped with putting together those string of videos on the album Cleopatra , which I think came out beautiful.

And then our last record was called III and that was where we said that was really enjoyable, and and sort of gratifying to be able to tell a story visually, let’s not just do four songs, let’s do all 10 songs the whole album. It was a huge undertaking, it was like shooting a movie 15 days of shooting and casting and everything.

But it was really gratifying. And I think the biggest part is, like I alluded to earlier, you can write an album on a breakup. But if you don’t sometimes show people that it’s about a breakup, they won’t always piece that together.

III was about a family dealing with addiction. It was about my wife’s family, her mother and some of my experiences with it and her experiences. And it was something that in America, at least, is very widespread. There’s a lot of addiction. And there also happens to be a taboo around it. I don’t know if it’s the intent of the record, but I think it was, in my heart, I just wanted to get it out there that this was happening, because I think a lot of people hide it. And if one person shares, it might cause someone else to open up. And it’s a, maybe it’s less of a heavy burden, if at least we can talk about it, and address it.

As far as you’d ask about the sound, I think the sounds evolved just based on the instruments that end up in our hands. I bought an electric guitar on the first tour that I started playing all the songs on. There was a skillet that  I might have it around. Yeah, it’s right here.

But we mostly loved the sound of a really shoddy sounding, upright piano. There’s just a lot of humanity in that. And then we like the sound of that electric guitar, with a semi-hollow body that we’ll mic that and not plug it in. It has a raw kind of vulnerable sound. And that’s what we’ve been stuck on for a little while now.

Who knows what’s next. But for now, it’s gone from acoustic guitars, because we were busking. So we were playing sidewalks and a lot of house shows where you couldn’t plug in anywhere the neighbors would complain. Yeah, now we can plug in. So there’s more options as you go. Just it’s almost based on the rooms you’re playing.

I wanted to get your take on how you respond to your fans and interact with them? Specifically with The Lumineers tattoos that fans have, how do you feel about it? Does it blow your mind that people have your words,on their skin, permanently?

Yeah, it’s pretty weird. I would say it feels like the ultimate allegiance to a band and a compliment. It’s flattering that someone felt strong enough, strongly enough about something you wrote or sung, that they got it on their body permanently.

It was interesting to see the lines that people gravitate towards. And I see a lot of people persevering and they tend to gravitate towards lyrics that are about hope and perseverance, which gives me hope. I’m a sort of an optimist, even if the lyrics don’t always show that. I really believe in the good of people.

The Lumineers have a virtual show at NH7 Weekender. Even though you’re performing virtually, can you tell me a bit about the set that you’re crafting for the festival? Is a trip to India on the cards when it’s feasible?

Of course. I think one of the reasons why we wanted to do this is because India has been a place we’ve wanted to not only visit, as tourists and lovers of new places and travel, but we wanted to see if we could ever play cities there and tour there. From the people who I know who have visited, it’s such a big place. So visited certain parts, that it’s just been a life changing experience. So I think for that reason, I’ve always wanted to do it.

So with regards to the set, I took the approach of just trying to come up with how if I had never heard us,, what songs would you play for them? So it would be for the person at a festival walking by. You want to try to stop them and get them to stay for a little longer. So it’s a lot of the songs that I think we’ve realized feel more immediate. And then if people come and check us out, hopefully more, more music and you can go deeper into the albums, but this is our first date.

CLIMATE PROJECTS

Reverb's climate project portfolio.

In acknowledgement of the climate impact of touring, The Lumineers dedicated a portion of ticket sales to support REVERB’s Climate Project Portfolio. This tour’s portfolio is designed to support measurable greenhouse gas reductions, address climate justice, advance decarbonization efforts in music, and create lasting positive impacts with the goal of addressing the complex challenges of the climate crisis.

Avoided Deforestation, Methane Destruction

Biodigesters in Mexico

In partnership with Native Energy, this project helps build and install simple biodigester units for subsistence farmers in Mexico. These units break down animal waste yielding gas that powers biogas cookstoves and water heaters as well as farm-generated fertilizer. This helps avoid methane emissions, improves air quality, and provides an alternative to expensive and harmful chemical fertilizers.

Climate Innovation

Decarbonizing Music

REVERB’s Music Decarbonization Project advances innovative climate solutions that directly reduce or eliminate carbon emissions within the music industry. Funding from this project helps develop existing and emerging technologies that increase efficiency, expand clean energy options, and reduce greenhouse gas pollution with a focus on the unique climate challenges of music.

Climate Justice, Renewable Energy

Hozho Homes

The Hozho Homes Program provides Hopi & Navajo families access to off-grid solar photovoltaic systems. The program also supports a workforce development program that will train Native American solar installers to build and maintain off-grid PV systems, create jobs and prepare installers to work with grid-tied projects nationwide. This project was selected in partnership with The Solutions Project .

Kenya Solar Desalination Farms

GivePower’s solar-powered water desalination plants provide clean drinking water to communities that relied on boiling water to make it potable. Providing clean drinking water reduces the burning of wood and coal for water purification and enables young women in the community to attend school or work rather than spend hours carrying drinking water to their homes.

The 2024 Giro d'Italia racers have officially passed the halfway point of the iconic course, and the competition is heating up. We'll show you everything you need to know about where to watch Giro d'Italia live streams, including free options that will also work for this summer's Tour de France.

The Giro d'Italia spans the length of Italy and is the first of the three famous Grand Tour races that define the spring and summer cycling season. It began on May 4 and will run until May 26. The Tour de France picks up in June and July, followed by the Vuelta a España in August and September. The Italian race is broken up into 21 long, grueling stages, with a particularly intense stretch through the Alps. Last year's victor, Primož Roglič, is sitting out this year's race to train for the Tour de France, so a new champion will emerge on May 26.

The race is held almost every day, except a few Mondays, so it's a busy viewing schedule for fans. If you're in the US, the races start pretty early. Luckily, the American streaming option we've highlighted saves the races on-demand, so you can always watch them later if you'd rather sleep in. Keep reading to learn everything you need to know about live streaming the 2024 Giro d'Italia.

Here's how Taylor Swift managed a wardrobe malfunction on stage like a pro

Listen to Story

Taylor Swift

  • Taylor Swift suffered a wardrobe malfunction during her performance on stage
  • It happened during her Stockholm Eras Tour concert
  • Taylor Swift handled the situation like a pro

Pop icon Taylor Swift encountered and overcame a major wardrobe malfunction during her recent performance in Stockholm, part of the European leg of her Eras Tour. As she tried to switch between songs, the 'Fortnight' singer seamlessly paused the performance to deal with the issue.

In a video that is being widely circulated on the web, Taylor Swift tells the audience to "just talk amongst yourselves" as she struggles with her blue Roberto Cavalli wrap dress, revealing glimpses of her sparkly yellow and green outfit. As Swift adjusts the dress, a member of the crew rushes to her aid.

Swift, ever the professional, handled the situation with grace and humour, as the member assisted with her dress.

Meanwhile, back in 2023, during her Eras Tour in Rio de Janeiro, Taylor suffered a mishap while performing the track 'Lover' on stage. The incident occurred on November 20 when the heel of her custom Christian Louboutin boot snapped off mid-performance. Videos captured by fans show Swift kneeling down to detach the sole of her sparkling knee-high boot and tossing it into the crowd.

That wasn't the first time Swift faced a wardrobe malfunction on stage. Earlier in April 2023, during a performance in Tampa, Florida, she had experienced a broken garter, which was promptly fixed by her team.
