Queens Of The Stone Age Extend Their ‘End Is Nero Tour’ With New West Coast Dates

Queens Of The Stone Age dropped their long-awaited new album In Times New Roman… this June, and a little before that, they announced the The End Is Nero Tour . They’re in the middle of the tour now, the initially announced dates of which started in August and wrapped up in October.

Now, though, the band has expanded the tour’s scope: Josh Homme and company announced today (September 19) that they’ve added a handful of new dates to the tour. The new dates hit venues in Arizona, Texas, California, and New Mexico, between December 5 to 16. They’ll be joined by Spiritualized for those shows.

Tickets for the news shows are set to go on sale on September 22 (this Friday) at 10 a.m. local time.

At the shows, by the way, expect the band to bring out the hits, because Homme thinks it’d be “c*nty” not to .

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE Announces December 2023 West Coast Tour Dates

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE have announced a run of West Coast dates to round out their epic worldwide "The End Is Nero" tour. Following another run of sold-out arenas across Europe, the band will resume its North American campaign in Phoenix, sweeping through the Southwest before wrapping up 2023 in grand fashion with a Saturday, December 16 headline at the Kia Forum in its homebase of Los Angeles.

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE is pleased to announce SPIRITUALIZED will be opening this run of December dates in North America. Led by J Spaceman , SPIRITUALIZED is supporting its ninth album, "Everything Was Beautiful" .

"The End Is Nero" tour is in support of the eighth QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE studio album, "In Times New Roman…" , recently hailed by Variety as "self-produced by band founder [ Josh ] Homme and one of his strongest QOTSA lineups ever, is one of the rawest and heaviest albums the band has delivered, and during Queens, New York stop of their 'The End Is Nero' tour, they proved that sometimes the new material can be a live standout…"

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE performed live for the first time in more than three years on May 26 at the Sonic Temple festival in Columbus, Ohio. Prior to the Columbus gig, Josh Homme and his bandmates played one gig in early 2020, their first since 2018.

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE 's new album, "In Times New Roman…" , was made available digitally and physically on June 16 via Matador Records .

"In Times New Roman…" was recorded and mixed at Homme 's own Pink Duck (RIP),with additional recording at Shangri-La . The album was produced by QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE and mixed by Mark Rankin . Artwork and double LP gatefold packaging was designed by longtime collaborator Boneface . LP vinyl was made available globally in black, green, red, silver and blue.

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE said in its album announcement that the record reflects the heartache its members have experienced in the past few years.

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE 's previous album, 2017's "Villains" , debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart.

"In Times New Roman..." is "raw, at times brutal and not recommended for the faint of heart," a press release states. "And yet, it's perhaps the most beautiful and definitely the most rewarding album in their epic discography. Homme 's most acerbic lyrics to date are buoyed by the instantly identifiable QOTSA sonic signature, expanded and embellished with new and unprecedented twists in virtually every song. With 'In Times New Roman…' we see that sometimes one needs to look beneath scars and scabs to see beauty, and sometimes the scabs and scars are the beauty."

Queens Of The Stone Age have announced more tour dates across North America this December – see the newly announced dates below.

Earlier this week, the band took to social media to announce their new show dates, which will see them close out their 2023 run of shows in North America this December.

The newly announced North American leg of the band’s The End Is Nero tour will see them perform eight shows across the United States of America between December 5 and December 16. Shows have been confirmed for Phoenix, El Paso, Austin, Houston, Irving, Albuquerque, San Diego and Los Angeles.

Queens of the Stone Age Bring Their “The End of Nero” Tour to Phoenix

The night was young and cool. People were all out and about; making their was to the restaurants and the Arizona Financial Theater. Everyone who was attending the show was excited for the night. The venue looked quiet but as the night progressed it would get busier and busier.

The first band of the night was Spiritualized. Spiritualized was formed in 1990 in 1990 in  Rugby, Warwickshire , England. The band is considered to be space rock, neo-psychedelia, experimental rock, garage rock and shoegaze. The band came onto the stage. The stage was set up in a u shape and two back up singers were staged almost next to the singer. The crowd clapped as everyone took their places. The band began to perform and their music was captivating. Everyone seemed to be in a trance, watching and listening to each lyric and note the band played. Their performance was calm but lively. Everyone seemed to enjoy the set.

Spiritualized

The second band was ready to go on and it was none other than Queens of the Stone Age!    The band formed in Seattle, Washington in 1996. The band delves into many genres including alternative rock, stoner rock, desert rock and hard rock. The bands current line up is made up by Josh Homme – lead vocals/guitar/piano/keyboard/bass, Troy Van Leeuwen – guitar/lap steel guitar, keyboards/synthesizers/percussion/backing vocals/bass, Michael Shuman – bass/keyboards/synthesizers/backing vocals, Dean Fertita – keyboards/synthesizers/guitar/percussion/backing vocals and Jon Theodore – drums/percussion/samplers. 

The fans poured in, filling all the books and cranny’s in the standing area. Every member came onto the stage and took their spots and they began to play! They opened their set up with “Regular John”. Everyone screamed and cheered as they played. The band was extremely lively! They moved all over the stage and jumped all about. The second song of their set was one of their most popular songs, “No One Knows”. Everyone sang along, screaming each word! They played other hits such as “Sick, Sick, Sick” and “Little Sister”. 

The band had so much energy that the fans caught it! Many danced and sang along to every song. Homme addressed the audience a few times throughout their set. You could tell he liked performing for everyone and enjoyed it immensely. Everyone had a wonderful night of music and fun.

The new batch of The End is Nero Tour dates start in December

Queens of the Stone Age have added dates to their current U.S. tour. The new leg kicks off on December 5 at the Arizona Financial Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona and wraps up on December 16 at the KIA Forum in Los Angeles, California. Special guests for the trek will be Spiritualized.

It was recorded and mixed at frontman Josh Homme’s own Pink Duck, with additional recording at Shangri-La. The album was produced by the band and mixed by Mark Rankin. It will be available across all digital platforms, as well as vinyl and CD. Artwork and double LP gatefold packaging was designed by long time collaborator Boneface. Queens of the Stone Age have announced a 2023 North American tour taking place over two legs in the late summer and early fall. The tour comes in support of the band’s new album, In Times New Roman…

The first leg of the outing, dubbed “The End Is Nero Tour,” kicks off August 3rd in Sterling Heights, Michigan, and runs through an August 19th gig in Nashville. The second leg is bookended by appearances at Riot Fest on September 16th and the Aftershock festival on October 8th. Phantogram and The Armed will provide support on the first leg, while Viagra Boys and Jehnny Beth will open the second leg.

Queens of the Stone Age have announced a run of West Coast dates to round out their worldwide The End Is Nero tour, which will make a stop in Phoenix.

Following a run of sold-out arenas across the UK and Europe, the band will resume its North American campaign in Phoenix and will sweep through the Southwest before wrapping up 2023 with a December headline appearance at the Kia Forum in its homebase of Los Angeles.

The band will perform Tuesday, Dec. 5 at Arizona Financial Theatre, 400 W. Washington St., in Phoenix.

Spiritualized will be opening this run of December dates in North America. Led by J Spaceman, Spiritualized are supporting their ninth album “Everything Was Beautiful.”

The End is Nero tour is in support of the eighth Queen of the Stone Age studio album, “In Times New Roman.”

Tickets for the newly announced dates go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 22.

Queens of the Stone Age 's hotly anticipated new album, In Times New Roman…, the band's first in six years, is almost upon us — and so is the band's first tour since before the pandemic.

Today (June 6th) Josh Homme and Co. announced "The End Is Nero" North American trek, which is set to kick off on August 3rd in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Opening acts will include Phantogram and the Armed, on the east coast leg, and Viagra Boys and Jehnny Beth, on the mid-west and west coast dates.
