Advisors get set for a viking good time at upcoming agent & client explorer sessions, bye borghetti: 4 things virgin australia's outgoing boss led the carrier through, together in travel: supporting each other through challenging times.

You know Bunnik Tours already, of course. They’ve been touring Europe and the Middle East for over 25 years, after all. They’ve long been on Australian agents’ radar for their insightful, intimate, impeccably tailored small group tours, tour extensions, and independent travel options.

But did you know Bunnik Tours have four 19-23-day trips in their Bunnik Tours Africa tour range ? You do now, and we’ve got all the deets on what makes any Bunnik Tours trip across the Mother Continent so special.

Bunnik Tours: Africa made easy

Lemur, Madagascar, Bunnik Tours

Africa is one of those destinations that you want to get right for your clients first time. Not only because it’s far but because some wildlife encounters may be a truly once-in-a-lifetime moment! Travelling with the experts is, therefore, crucial.

The Bunnik Tours Africa program encompasses four classic tours, all with economy airfares included from Australia. Plus, they run a dreamy shorter Madagascar tour and an array of tour extensions and independent travel options to round out that dream vacay.

They’ve done all the hard work, so once you know your client’s goals, you can mix and match to compile an effortless Africa itinerary.

Showcasing the best of Africa

Bunnik Tour African safari lion

With their four classic holidays, Bunnik Tours seamlessly introduces the highlights of such a diverse continent on a stress-free holiday like no other.

Across Africa, their local English-speaking guides and drivers reveal how diverse each destination is. Places like Madagascar, Egypt, Zanzibar, and South Africa, where their attractions and wildlife experiences are so distinct from each other.

From spotting the Big 5 running wild across African plains to witnessing Sossusvlei’s sweeping desert landscapes to insightful local village visits, Bunnik Tours makes Africa accessible, exciting, and personalised.

When small means small

Bunnik Makgadikgadi Pans

Pioneers of the small group touring concept, Bunnik Tours invites a maximum of 12 passengers per Africa tour. A small group journey that is truly small!

With groups between six and 12 passengers, flexibility is a huge advantage. Alongside this, bonds are typically strong; the pull of like-minded travellers on a mission to soak up all that Africa has to offer.

Being on safari with a small group means a guaranteed great seat to view the action; no need to elbow that new best friend for the primo spot. Plus, small numbers reduce the odds of some yabbering idiot chasing a lion away with their can’t-keep-it-down volume.

Experienced on every Africa tour

Bunnik Tours’ Africa tours have a range of guaranteed inclusions. Like:

  • English-speaking, locally-based drivers and guides
  • A maximum group size of 12
  • No hidden extras, including all national park and game reserve entrance fees
  • All tips

Bunnik Tours also include Special Experiences on every departure. Personal and insightful activities like village lunches, flavour-filled cooking classes, and animal encounters that deepen a visitor’s connection to the destination.

The Big 4 (plus a smallish one)

Bunnik Tours releases latest Africa & Asia brochures

bunnik tours africa

The original small group touring specialist, Bunnik Tours are delighted to unveil their first brochures for the season – Africa 2024 and Asia 2024/25.

Both brochures boast an elegant eight-page gatefold design, offering concise yet comprehensive overviews of the captivating tours within their respective regions.

“We are so excited to have physical Bunnik Tours brochures displayed around stores again,” joint CEO Dennis Bunnik said.

The Africa program encompasses five classic tours, one short tour, and an array of tour extensions and independent travel options. The region showcases a range of diverse countries, such as Madagascar, Rwanda, Zanzibar, and South Africa.

Leading the market with its small group touring concept, Bunnik Tours cap their groups in Africa at a maximum of just 12 passengers.

During Bunnik Tours African tours, you can anticipate extraordinary wildlife encounters, breathtaking scenery, indulgent tented camping, serene river cruising, and engaging interactions with local tribespeople.

“A Bunnik Tour of the amazing and diverse content of Africa is the holiday experience of a lifetime,” Dennis said.

The Asia program caters to the huge interest in Japan and South Korea, as well as Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and Cambodia.

Among its offerings is the exquisite Sri Lanka In-Style tour, meticulously curated for an intimate experience with a maximum of 16 guests, featuring luxurious 5-star accommodation and exclusive deluxe experiences.

Their in-style package sits alongside the company’s most sought after tour, Japan Discovery.

For those seeking a truly distinctive travel experience, there are many special departures to choose from, including Japan’s enchanting cherry blossom and autumn colour seasons, Sri Lanka’s vibrant Kandy Festival, and Japan’s captivating Kanto & Nebuta Festivals.

“Exotic Asia boasts an abundance of remarkable experiences, ensuring that each Asia tour with Bunnik Tours promises a continuous journey of new discoveries.”

Delve into the art of sushi-making and embrace the authenticity of a traditional ryokan guesthouse in Japan, or venture to a Sri Lankan tea plantation to discover the secrets of their renowned export.

Bunnik Tours has a maximum group size of just 20 passengers and use spacious coaches across Asia.

“Our small group tour itineraries are crafted to really get to the heart of all that a destination has to offer through a balance of organised sightseeing, special local experiences and time for independent exploration,” Dennis Bunnik said.

These brochures will both be available in print and digital .

When I decided to do my upcoming tour…

When I decided to do my upcoming tour to the 5 Stans I contacted David Giddings at Bunniks. He has organised quite a few of my previous tours. For this tour I wanted extra time in Istanbul prior to the tour and as usual we discussed my plans and as usual he was able to put it all together. So am very happy with the service and assistance he has given me over the years and can recommend Bunnik tours

Date of experience : 12 April 2024

Reply from Bunnik Tours

Dear Del, Thank you for your 5-star review, it means a lot to us as you have travelled with us many times over the years. Also thank you for your kind words about the service you received from Dave, I'll make sure he receives them. I know that Dennis is looking forward to travelling with you again, this time on our inaugural 5-Stans tour! Very exciting... As always, safe travels and we look forward to hearing all about your adventures via our tour survey once you're home! Warmest regards, Julie Bunnik Tours - Customer Care

Bunnik Tours - Travel Consultant Tracylee McKay

Tracylee McKay was my contact person / travel consultant at Bunnik. At all times, very helpful and promptly responsive to my queries and requirements whilst being friendly and professional. More than happy to recommend her to any prospective traveler.

Date of experience : 10 April 2024

Hello Shane, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback! We're delighted to hear that Tracylee provided you with such excellent service. I'll be sure to pass along your kind words to her. If you ever need assistance in the future, please don't hesitate to reach out. Safe travels, and thank you for choosing Bunnik Tours for your upcoming trip to Spain, Portugal & Morocco! Warm regards, Julie Bunnik Tours - Customer Care

We have previously travelled with…Bunniks, Trafalgar, Insight, Travel Marvel but can honestly say that Bunniks Tours are comprehensive and, comfortable, have great accommodation and Tour Directors.

We have previously travelled with Bunniks in 2019 on a brilliant tour of Jordan and Egypt, which we rate as our best overseas holiday yet. This time, we booked straight through Bunniks, not an external agent, and Penny Marling looked after us to the nth degree. Easy booki g service, excellent, friendly communication and all our questions answered promptly. Would highly recommend Bunniks to anyone.

Dear Stuart, Thank you so much for your kind words and for choosing Bunnik Tours once again for your overseas adventure! We're thrilled to hear that your previous tour with us in Jordan and Egypt was such a standout experience. Thank you for sharing about the service you received from Penny, she'll be thrilled to hear. We truly appreciate your recommendation and can't wait to create more unforgettable memories with you and Cherrilyn on your upcoming tour to beautiful Italy, Sicily & Malta! Warm regards, Julie Bunnik Tours - Customer Care

The tour was very well structured and…

The tour was very well structured and organised. Everything was taken care of. There was no issues and no problems during travel. The tour guide was knowledgeable, helpful and a lot of fun. Many thanks to everyone who worked on that tour. It was a very pleasant experience and I look forward to travel with Bunnik Tours again.

Date of experience : 11 April 2024

Hello Inga, Thank you for taking the time to post a review of your time on tour with us here on Trustpilot. We're thrilled to hear you had a wonderful time, and that you found the services of your guide very good. We're so looking forward to welcoming you onto your next tour; enjoy experiencing every piece of magic that Spain, Portugal and Morocco have on offer! Warm regards, Thomas Bunnik Tours - Customer Care

My opinion of the service I received from Bunnik 2 star

I spoke to Vicki about my tri to Japan. I then paid for my trip and have had no contact with Vicki or anybody else. There were occasions when I needed guidance on things like travel insurance and Vicki was never available. I certainly wouldn’t say the service supplied was anything other than 2 star treatment from Bunnik

Date of experience : 03 April 2024

Hello Diana, We're sorry to hear that you are disappointed with our service so far. I've had a look back over your booking history and can see that Vicki assisted with your initial enquiry in early February with regards to selecting your tour and the costing of your flights. Vicki then spent much of March overseas and I can see that another of our travel specialists assisted with obtaining your travel insurance. Vicki is a very experienced and professional travel specialist and I'm sorry that you were not able to take full advantage of her service on this occasion. We are very much looking forward to having you on tour with us in a few days and we wish you a wonderful time discovering the sites in Japan. Should we be able to assist you any further please contact us at: [email protected]. Warm regards, Julie Bunnik Tours - Customer Care

Great itineraries offering so much…

Great itineraries offering so much choice, small group size making for good interaction between travellers, well trained staff who provide accurate information, excellent hotels in centre of the towns and talented, knowledgeable guides and bus drivers. We are about to depart on our tenth Bunnik tour, that says it all.

The staff were always ready to help with our queries. Justin is an excellent ambassador for bunnick as he was always courteous and helpful.

Dear Graham, Thank you for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear that our team, especially Justin, provided you with excellent service. Your appreciation means a lot to us. Have a fantastic time in Europe! Best regards, Julie Bunnik Tours - Customer Care

Our experience throughout the booking…

Our experience throughout the booking process has been excellent. The service David has given us has been incredible and nothing was too much trouble. We are really looking forward to our trip.

Date of experience : 07 April 2024

Hello Julie, Thank you for your 5-star review here on Trustpilot! We're thrilled to hear that your experience with David and our booking process has been excellent, and it's wonderful to know that you felt nothing was too much trouble for David in assisting you. We hope you have an amazing trip and can't wait to hear all about it upon your return. Warm regards, Thomas Bunnik Tours - Customer Care

Lovely agent Honi, great customer service

Honi was very responsive, if I sent her email she got back to me within a day or two, lots of times same day. She has been happy to research other tours and transit lounge options. She didn't hesitate to offer to book these extras. I have been working with another travel agency for another trip later in the year and your agency runs rings around them.

Date of experience : 31 March 2024

Dear Chris, Thank you so much for your 5-star review and kind words. It means a lot to us to hear about your positive experience of booking your tour with Honi. Your feedback truly motivates us to continue providing exceptional service to all our clients. If there's anything else we can do to enhance your experience or if you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to us anytime. We're here to make your trip as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Wishing you a wonderful on tour in Japan with Marion and Frank! Warm regards, Julie Bunnik Tours - Customer Care

Tracylee was most helpful and…

Tracylee was most helpful and efficient. Two minor points - we should have been advised that we needed to fill in an online form to enter Singapore and the bag limit on the tour is not sufficient when we have booked business class flights.

Hello Noel, Thanks so much for your review, it's great to hear that you found Tracylee to be helpful and efficient during the time you spent in consultation with her while planning your upcoming trip to Europe. I do apologise that we did not advise you about the e-arrival card for Singapore. While this can also be done by filling out a paper card upon arrival, completing the SG e-arrival card online beforehand simplifies the process and we'll make sure that we advise our clients of this future. The extra allowance provided by airlines flying business class is a wonderful benefit when travelling however for our tours we do have a maximum weight of 23kg per person. The reason for this is that there are times when you may need to manage your own luggage, we must also comply with OH&S requirements with regards to the porters and coach drivers and finally we must also ensure that there is enough space in the coach for everyone's luggage. We hope that that you and Kathryn have a wonderful time travelling on our upcoming Jewels of Dalmatia tour and we look forward to hearing all about your travels via our tour survey. If we can be of any assistance prior to you departure or while on tour please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Warm regards to you both, Julie Bunnik Tours - Customer Care

All Went well in the Booking process

After about 9 months and a total of roughly 42 emails, the Booking process was completed. Some emails were receipts as we did some monthly payments, but others kept us informed about the progress. We received the travel documents 3 or 4 weeks before departure. It did take quite some time to receive our flight booking details ... some 4 months after the airline component was paid. Nevertheless, I am happy with the overall service and general communication and have awarded 4.5 stars. I am quite sure the trip will be just as well organised when on the ground. We leave in very early April.

Date of experience : 22 March 2024

Hi Stephen, Thank you so much for sharing your feedback with us. While we're delighted to hear that you're satisfied overall with the service and communication you received during the booking process, we truly appreciate your honest feedback regarding the time it took to complete it. We understand that the delay in receiving your flight details might have caused some inconvenience, and for that, we sincerely apologize. Please know that we're committed to ensuring that your Japan Discovery tour is as well-organized and memorable as possible. If you have any further questions or need assistance before your departure, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Wishing both you and Anne an incredible journey ahead, filled with unforgettable experiences! Warm regards, Julie Bunnik Tours - Customer Care

I was very well accommodated to all of…

I was very well accommodated to all of my request.

Hello Vicki, Thank you for your 5-star review here on Trustpilot! It's wonderful to hear that you have been well looked after throughout your booking process. We're so looking forward to welcoming you on tour in Japan; have the best time! We can't wait to hear all about it upon your return. Warm regards, Thomas Bunnik Tours - Customer Care

Great Agency to book tours with

Justin made the booking process really simple and easy to navigate. He always responded within an acceptable timeframe from my list of questions. Polite, professional and always ensuring that we understood what the holiday entailed.

Date of experience : 08 April 2024

Hello Suzie, Thank you for taking the time to review us here on Trustpilot. We are delighted to hear that Justin facilitated a seamless and straightforward booking process for you. We so appreciate your recognition of Justin's professionalism and dedication. Have a fabulous time on tour, and we look forward to hearing all about it upon your return! Warm regards, Thomas Bunnik Tours - Customer Care

Had great reviews regarding Bunnik…

Had great reviews regarding Bunnik tours and looking forward to our upcoming tour. Issues we have are I had to contact Bunnik regarding the due date for final payment as a week after due date no contact. Received email indicating some merchandise will be delivered for our trip. A week out no merchandise had been delivered and again it was me who had to remind Bunnik. Not sure if it will turn up in time

Date of experience : 27 March 2024

Hello David, First off, we want to extend our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience you've experienced during your booking process with us. It's truly disheartening to hear that there have been delays in communication and the delivery of your merchandise. Rest assured, we're taking immediate action to rectify these issues. We're currently following up on your merchandise delivery and will ensure it reaches you in time for your upcoming tour. Additionally, we're reviewing our internal processes to prevent similar situations in the future. We genuinely appreciate your patience and understanding, and we're committed to making things right for you. If you have any further concerns or questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly. Looking forward to welcoming both you and Leanne on tour in Egypt and Jordan very soon! Warm regards, Julie Customer Care - Bunnik Tours

Egypt and Jordan Discovery was amazing.

We have recently returned from Egypt and Jordan Discovery tour. We felt so safe and welcome, and had wonderful guides and learned so much about the history and culture of the Middle East. Our accommodation was 5 star and many meals provided. The guides were experts in their field and love of Egypt came through. Our small group was 11, and worked well. Would highly recommend Bunnik, this was our fourth Bunnik tour and fifth coming in September in Spain and Portugal.

Date of experience : 14 February 2024

Dear Jenny, We are so thrilled to hear that you and Robert loved your time in Egypt and Jordan and would recommend our company. Nothing makes us happier! To hear that your guide's love of Egypt could be felt in the way they shared their knowledge of their country is just great as we know the difference this makes when on tour. Thanks so much for choosing Bunnik Tours for your holidays and we look forward to welcoming you back for your trip to Europe in September! Warm regards, Julie Bunnik Tours - Customer Care

Communication has always been great

Communication has always been great. But I have not had a response to an important question I emailed two days ago.

Hello Dianne, Thank you so much for your review here on Trustpilot. We are so glad to hear that communication throughout your booking process has been great, however sorry to hear of the delay in response for your last query. I understand that Kathleen has now responded? Please do let us know if you have not received this, or if we can be of any further assistance. We're so looking forward to welcoming you on tour! Warm regards, Thomas Bunnik Tours - Customer Care

David has been so easy to deal with

David has been so easy to deal with. Your company was recommended to us by friends who have done this tour so our expectations are high. We are in Melbourne but communicating with David has been so easy. Will do further comments on our return.

Date of experience : 18 March 2024

Hello Kate, Thanks so much for taking the time to share about your experience of booking a tour with us. David will be thrilled to read your comments and they are truly deserved as he is a very experienced Travel Specialist. Thank you again and we wish you and Ronald a wonderful time on tour in Japan!
