Interview with Nakadia

Hello Nakadia, how are you in the new year of Dragon? And what are your plans and goals for this year?

The year started so amazingly, I think this was the best start of the year ever for me. I have been 8 weeks on Asia tour now and all events were just crazy good. I never had so much fun in Asia before and I think in the next years the scene will grow even more and the Thai islands will become the new Tulum or Ibiza. This year I will be on tour around the world again. So far I have bookings in 30 countries on 5 continents but I am sure it will add up to much more until the end of the year

You have been active on the scene for over 20 years. How has your music evolved since you started your career, and what have been some key milestones in your journey?

It took a long time for me to find my style. In the beginning, I tried everything from Trance to Progressive and even some commercial tech-house, but with time I decided that I only wanted to go for Techno. So the past 10 years I have moved between driving and energetic techno and melodic techno. I don’t like flat sets as I think they are boring, so I like to take people on a rollercoaster ride through sounds.

The first key milestone was my move from Thailand to Berlin. I learned so much by going out in this city. Good things, but mostly I learned how not to be. The next milestone was when I was discovered by Yann Pissenem – the founder of Ushuaia Ibiza – and was invited to join the Ants family. The third major milestone was my events with Sven Väth across Thailand between 2015 and 2018.

Can you share with us about your early life in Thailand and how it influenced your decision to pursue a career in electronic music?

I grew up in the countryside without electricity or running water. Life was very basic and there was no electronic music. I started to work in factories at the age of 15 and made my own money. I was always looking for something exciting in life and didn’t want to end up in my village. After some years I ended up with a job at an internet café where I tried to learn English by chatting with foreigners. One of the people I was chatting with was Seb, who is still my manager today, 23 years later. He invited me to Europe one day and took me to a Techno party. That was what changed my life, that night I decided to become a DJ and tried to find techno for the following years. It’s a long story, but I wrote a book about it which is available on Amazon, called “positive energy”

What were some of the biggest challenges you faced when breaking into the international electronic music scene, and how did you overcome them?

In the early 2000s, it was nearly impossible to get good bookings as a female Techno DJ. Girls were only accepted if they had a tomboy look. I was used to making myself look pretty when I went out of the house, so that didn’t help at all in my career. My Thai smile also didn’t help. At that time a DJ had to be cool, not smiling and not having fun behind the decks, that was what promoters wanted back then. It was also the time of minimal music and none of that was me. I had to stay strong, play for very few people most of the time, and try to build my fanbase little by little until enough people found out about my DJ qualities.

How does the regular day of Nakadia look like, when you are not touring?

Usually, I come home very tired on Sunday nights. On the weekdays when I am not touring I usually wash my clothes, cook Thai food, stay in touch with my followers on social media, and get my office work sorted out. Then hopefully in the evenings, there is some time to work in my home studio. I built my dream studio during COVID-19 and I would love to have more time to make music.

Having performed all over the world, how do you see the global electronic music scene evolving, and what trends do you think will shape the future of techno?

The music trends are always moving and some areas are getting more interesting and others less interesting. It always moves around. Techno has a boom right now and especially Hard Techno is getting big in many places. But I don’t follow that hype as I can’t enjoy it. I need emotions in my music, sometimes powerful, sometimes pumping or uplifting, and sometimes just beautiful to dream away. I can’t find all that in hard techno, so I leave it to the kids who have lots of energy right now. In the future, I think we will get split into different scenes again like we had 10 years ago when EDM became big. Underground and commercial techno will go their separate ways again.

Are there any upcoming projects or collaborations that you’re particularly excited about?

I will do lots of collaborations this year with many of my favorite artists. I don’t want to name names right now, but it will be exciting. I also work on some bigger events as a promoter again for 2025 and even this year I will do a few events in Berlin during the summer.

What can your fans look forward to soon?

I have huge projects coming up that will be life-changing, but I can’t talk about them right now. They will need a bit of time, but in 2025 there will be big news!

DJ Nakadia: From Korat, to Berlin‘s Techno Scene

Let's hear the story of Seephrai "Puu" Mungphanklang - a Khon Buri girl turned Berlin-based DJ with a ferocious passion.

dj nakadia tour

“I’m living out of my suitcase.” That’s how Seephrai "Pu" Mungphanklang , a female DJ from Khon Buri, Korat (a.k.a. Nakhon Ratchasima), describes her life at the moment. Although based in Berlin, Germany, the DJ travels the world to electrify international techno-loving crowds with her spellbinding sets.

Nakadia has been on a musical career for 17 years. As you may have guessed, it took a lot for an Asian woman to break into the European techno scene in the beginning. But today most would agree that she’s proven herself by taking over the stage at major events such as Tomorrowland, Rainbow Serpent Festival, Berlin Love Parade, and Queensday Festival, as well as many iconic nightclubs around the world. Needless to say, Nakadia is well-recognized and loved by her fans and followers.

As she has just come back to her home country to perform in May, Siam2nite has the opportunity to interview Pu - the first Thai female DJ in the world of German underground music. Let’s get to know the story and woman behind the name Nakadia !

Your first trip to Germany in 2002 seems to be the turning point where you decided to become a DJ. Could you tell us about the trip? What happened?

When I was living in Korat, I worked at an internet cafe. I later became friends with Sebastian, who’s now my manager. He asked me if I wanted to go to Germany; he could show me around and let me see what German nightlife was like. While I was there, I went to see DJ Marusha. She’s was one of the first female DJs in the 90s to play techno and drum & bass sets. I went to her performance without knowing that she’s famous. I was in the middle of the dance floor when she started playing, and I was blown away. While she was playing, it felt like she was doing something magical; like she was hypnotizing the crowd. And I was among those who were mesmerized by her. I decided right then; “I wanna be a DJ”. The next day, I went to a record store and bought some vinyl records.

Have you always been interested in underground music from the get-go? Are there any other genres you also enjoy on the regular?

When I was in Thailand, I listened to mainstream music. After my first visit to Europe, I focused on trance since my manager is a big fan of trance. He asked me if I liked this genre and took me to trance clubs. I loved it; it was new and exciting. But later, I discovered DJ Timo Mass while he was performing in a city in Germany. I felt more connected to his music because of the slower BPM (beats per minute). I was curious about the genre, so I started to research and learn more about it. From that point on, my life had changed entirely. This was my world now.

How did you decide on your stage name ‘Nakadia’? Could you tell us about that?

There is no actual meaning behind it. I just kept playing with words. See, my first name is Seephrai. When I started out, Sebastian wanted to create a website and tried to name it Ladyseephrai.com. I told him he couldn’t use that; I don’t like my name since it’s so very Thai. I want it in my passport, but I don’t really want people to know me by that. [Laughing] While I was at an internet cafe, I kept typing random words until I arrived at Nakadia. It sounds like “Dear naka”, which has a bit of a Thai ring to it. “I’m dear to everyone naka.” - something like that.

What is your signature in terms of music?

My thing is that I tend to go for tracks with more feeling. Sometimes, people who come in for my show would have no idea what I’ll be playing because I play everything from Deep House, Tech House, all the way to Techno. If I say ‘Techno’, some people would say outright that they don’t like it. They assume that it’s loud and harsh. But there are softer Techno tracks too; it depends on the production. I dabbled in everything from Deep House to mixed melodic; I kept building up. Before I knew it, I’ve arrived at Dance Techno. This is my signature - I worked with people’s feeling. I can put them under a spell. [Laughing]

Your music when you first started 17 years ago and at present; how has it changed and evolved?

Of course, it has evolved. Being a DJ isn’t about playing popular tracks or keeping a job; you have to enjoy it too. I’ve always believed that my work should make me happy. I need to play the music that I enjoy as well, so I keep finding my style. As I’ve mentioned, I played Trance in the beginning. Then, I moved on to House, Funky House, and Electro House. I kept looking until I found my current style.

What are the challenges of being a female DJ on a global stage?

I was an Asian DJ who was trying to get into the European scene. At first, a lot of venues wanted to book me despite me being not famous. However, these venues tended to be on the fancier side. That’s not really my style; I’m more of an underground kind of girl. I wasn’t a good match, but they wanted to book me because I have an Asian look. It’s novel for them since I was the first and only one. That made it difficult. In the underground scene, people liked an ‘unkempt’ look, like you haven’t washed your hair in almost a week, with just a T-shirt and a pair of jeans. I had to adopt a tomboyish look as much as I could to get some respect. But I still wanted to wash my hair and dress up a little bit. [Laughing] Things didn’t fit right; I tried really hard to find myself back then. I had to change my look and made it very simple. It was worth it, though. Because I got respect by the time I started moving upward in my career.

If you were to choose the mix that best represents Nakadia, which one would it be and why?

All of the mix in my Soundcloud represent my style. You can give them a listen. [Laughing] It’s all a journey.

We’ve heard that you’re releasing a new EP. Could you tell us about your work process for the EP?

I was traveling a lot last year, so I had to find the time to go to the studio as much as I could. I hadn’t been home at all. I performed, traveled, produced tracks, then went back on the road. This year, I finally released my first EP under Filth on Acid in January, then later under Intec Digital. I think you could say both of them are major records.

You’ve been to major events all over the world. Which one is the most memorable for you?

I think a lot of them are memorable, actually. For example, I’ve just performed at Rainbow Serpent Festival in Australia in February. It was a four-day event, so like a non-stop, four-day party. People there really understand and appreciate music. A lot of my friends were excited, while I had no clue how big of an event it was. When I arrived, I was like “wow, this is so cool”. Everyone dressed how they want and went completely bonkers. I didn’t warm up the crowd or anything; I went for it right from the first track. [My performance] was overwhelmingly well-received. When I walked around the city later, people recognized me and greeted me. Also, any time that’s the first is always great; I’ll never forget those. Once, I performed in Colombia in South America for the first time, in the city of Bogota. Usually, the show would last three hours. When I got to the club, however, it was already full of people. Everybody seemed ready for it, so I jumped right in. The crowd wouldn’t go home. Then, the staff informed us that there’s an after party on the rooftop. I brought the show there for another two hours until the sun came up.

You’ve been to Mustache Bangkok for three times already. Could you tell us what’s so special about this time?

I’ve always loved performing at Mustache Bangkok - it’s such a blast every time. I don’t plan my sets, and I don’t know what my set would be like each time I play. It all depends on my feelings. Maybe I’m feeling a bit funky today, then I might switch to house, tech house, and techno. The set i played this time is very different compared to the previous ones, though, because we were short on time. I didn’t warm the crowd up too much and just went at it. [Laughing]

What’s on your agenda for 2019? Any new projects?

I produced a lot of tracks last year, and I’m still working on them this year. After my Asia tour, I’ll be back in the studio to work on these tracks.

What would you like to say to the event’s sponsor, Jagermeister?

Thank you so much for sponsoring our party. We all had a great time together. [Laughter] Follow Seephrai “Pu” Mungphanklang a.k.a. DJ Nakadia and her work on her social media down below.

Interview: 10 Q&As With DJ Nakadia

We asked DJ Nakadia ten questions, and she was kind enough to answer them; now, without further ado, let’s get on with the interview!

The heart of our content – the exclusive interview with DJ Nakadia . Here, we showcase the 10 questions and her thoughtful responses, providing direct insights into her perspectives, experiences, and philosophies. This interview is a unique opportunity for readers to hear directly from Nakadia .

1- What inspires you the most in your life, and how do you incorporate these sources of inspiration into your creative process?

Answer : “I get inspired by my touring and playing with so many different artists all over the world. I started touring already in my first year as a DJ. Listening to and watching other artists play made me the artist I am today. I am a DJ in the first place, and DJing takes 90% of my time, so unfortunately, I don’t have much time for studio work.”

2- What period or event in your artistic journey has had the most significant impact on you?

Answer : “I was in Ibiza in 2014 when my friend – who was working for Ants at Ushuaia – was trying to get me into Ants through a side door. When one of the big managers of Ushuaia passed by, he asked, “ This is my friend Nakadia; she played at Sankeys last night. Is it okay if we get her in? ” – the guy looked shocked at me and asked, “ You played Sankeys last night? Come with me… ” he took my hand and ran off with me, straight to the stage. There he introduced me to Yan, the founder of Ushuaia. “ Yan, this is the girl that played at Sankeys last night. ” Then Yan took me by the hand and ran off to the office with me. He asked me if I wanted to join the Ants Family. Everybody was talking about my set the night before at Sankeys, and they were looking for a great female DJ… I think this moment changed my life the most. I became a part of Ibiza’s biggest party and got a lot of respect on the island and even around the world. I was only with Ants for 2 years, but these 2 years were the most important years of my career, and I kept on growing my career ever since.”

Answer : “ Restless, Worldwide, Techno. I am only at home a few days each month, just to change my bags. This has been my life for 20 years now, and I only had a break during the pandemic. I take my techno to all corners of the world, and some people think I should be in the Guinness Book of Records (Guinness World Records) for playing in more countries than any other artist (86 countries in total and about 40 each year).”

4- Can you share some insights about the biggest challenges you’ve faced in your career and how you overcame them?

Answer : “The first 10 years of my career have been extremely hard. When I look back at that time I ask myself how I could even do it. It was so crazy that I wrote a book about it. The book is called “ Positive Energy ” as it was my positive energy that made me survive this. Back then, girls were not accepted in the techno scene, and I had to fight hard to earn respect. In the first years, other Techno DJs and promoters were just laughing at me. They all thought I was a fake because they didn’t understand why I was touring the world. My secret to success was my home base back then: Koh Samui in Thailand! In those days, that little island was the favorite holiday destination for the cool people of our industry. The music in Koh Samui was mostly terrible commercial music, but I already played underground music. Every night when I performed on Samui, there were always 3-4 people that came to the DJ booth and asked how they could book me. This is how I became an international touring DJ from day 1. It was always the same – the people who never heard me play talked bad about me, and the people who did hear me play booked me. So the hard part wasn’t getting booked; it was to actually make it to my destinations. I used to live 3 months in Thailand (making my connections for the next tour) and then 3 months in Berlin, touring Europe from there. But for nearly every country, I needed a visa, which meant that on most weekdays, I had to get up early to visit embassies to make the visa for the next weekend. Some countries rejected my visa or didn’t even let me apply, so I had to travel to other countries (like The Netherlands) to apply for the visa, for example, to Poland , Croatia, or Bulgaria. This life was very expensive, and my fee was not high yet, so I mostly didn’t have a chance to take money back home with me, but I wanted the experience and exposure.”

Answer : “That’s the great thing about social media; it gives you the chance to stay close to your fans and followers. I have really good communication with people from around the world through my social media channels. The direct messages are often way too much so that I can’t keep up anymore, but I reply to every comment.”

6- How has your artistic approach or style evolved over time?

Answer : “At the start of my career, I had to find my way, and I had to learn about all the different styles of electronic music. Coming from Thailand I had absolutely no idea what electronic music was. I just fell in love with a set that I heard during my first night out on a visit to Germany . I learned that that was techno, so I wanted to become a Techno DJ. But it took me many years to really understand techno and the different styles under that name. So, I started playing mostly deep progressive as well as more German Commercial Techno at the beginning of my career. I had 2 styles to please different crowds. In 2008, I decided to just be an Underground Techno DJ – no more second option. If a club wanted to book me I would play my techno and nothing else. That was the best decision, and from that moment on, my career really developed in the right direction. Within my sets, I move between melodic techno and driving-uplifting techno. I tell a story with my sets, and I take people on a journey. I can’t stand flat sets because I think whatever music you love, you need a change of mood sometimes, and like a good movie, there have to be ups and downs, surprises, and a beautiful ending.”

Answer : “ After a performance by Carl Cox in Ibiza during the summer of 2018 , I handed a USB stick with my music to Carl. A few weeks later, he got back to me and wanted to sign the tracks to his label, Intec. During that summer, I saw him play a few more times and noticed that he was playing my tracks in every set. Every time one of my tracks was coming up I felt extremely proud and happy. “ Acid Storm ” and “ Serenity Now! ” were the first 2 tracks played by Carl, but after that, he played most of the tracks I sent him.”

8- What are your thoughts on the role and impact of your life in society?

Answer : “I am especially happy that so many people always write me their stories and tell me how I inspired them to change their lives. I hear these stories from all over the world, but most of all from my home country, Thailand. I like to inspire people and let them know that everything is possible in this world, even if you own nothing and are on your own. Believe in yourself and work hard to make your dreams come true. I come from a very poor background. I grew up without electricity or running water, and it looked like I would never be able to do something with my life. But I did it! Most artists get famous today only because they have big budgets for marketing or big management to put them on all the right stages, but I did it all just by hard work and making fans one gig after the other. Of course, I am not a hyped-up name playing the main stages of the big festivals , but I am happy with my life, and that’s the most important thing. Be happy with whatever you do in life, and you will get your lucky moments. You just have to recognize them and make the right decisions.”

Answer : “I dont see myself as a producer, I am a DJ in the first place. But I love producing, and during the pandemic, I started building my modular system at home. This really inspires me. I can just jam around, and there will always be some sound or beat that shows me the way to a new track. It is a process that happens, nothing is planned, and that’s what I love so much about working with modular synths . When I jam on the system, I record everything, and when I find a special sound, then, I tweak it in every direction and see where it takes me. Then I cut out the pieces of the recording that I would need in a track and start to make a basic arrangement with these snippets. Unfortunately, that’s as far as I get because I am hardly ever home. During the busiest months only 2 days or not at all. It leaves not much time to finish productions, so I finish the tracks together with a studio partner who is much better and quicker on the final parts of the process.”

10- What are some projects or goals you hope to achieve with your life in the future?

Answer : “I am hoping to tour a bit less and only play the shows that I really love in the future. Spending more time in the studio and starting more projects as a promoter in Thailand is what I want to focus on more. Thailand is becoming a major destination for artists and clubbers, and I am happy that I was able to be a part of the process of moving Thailand in this direction. We have Koh Phangan as an underground destination, which is like a tropical Berlin with many super cool small parties at the most beautiful locations. And then there is the opposite: Phuket, which is becoming like an Ibiza of Asia with huge shows like Circoloco or the biggest DJs of the scene at Cafe Del Mar. It is very exciting to be a part of this development in my country, and I want to move back home to Thailand over the next few years to let the circle of my life close.”

A self made music Ambassador

Nakadia biography

(filth on acid / intec / bedrock / get physical).

Nakadia’s unstoppable energy stems back to her childhood in the poor Thai countryside, where she grew up on less than $1 per day. At sunrise, her daily duty was to fetch the family’s water from a nearby lake before making her way to school. Their self-built wood and metal home didn’t have any frills—not even electricity or running water—but Nakadia still lights up with joy when she looks back upon those times. It’s her pure happiness for life itself that she’s maintained until today, half a lifetime later as a world-famous artist touring the globe.

The journey between Nakadia’s early days at the farm and her global success was a long, difficult one. As a teenager, she was filled with the urge to explore. Her hunger to discover the world pushed her to move to the nearby city of Korat, where she lived in a room with six other girls. She learned to survive on her own, working double shifts at multiple factories. Later, she found a job at an internet café, where she taught herself basic English in chatrooms with people all over the world. One of those people was Sebastian, who invited Nakadia for her first trip to Germany in 2002. It was on this trip that she discovered techno music, and knew she’d found her calling right away. “I was born to be a DJ!”

A turbulent journey began. Nakadia devoted herself to finding the perfect sonic fuse. In 2003, she moved to the island of Koh Samui where her jaw-dropping gigs set the stage for her international career. Crafting her sound without any guidance—all in a country marked by the mainstream—Nakadia pioneered the rise of the underground in Thailand, conquering the rest of the world at the same time. Forced to prove herself over and over again, she refused to let the male- dominated industry know her as “the little cute Thai girl.” Rather than get frustrated, she kept her energy high and never allowed the prejudice to wipe away her contagious smile. She continued to push forward, achieving milestone after milestone without relying on those with the power to open doors for her more easily.

In 2010, Nakadia moved to Berlin, as her jam-packed tour schedule made it impossible to keep working out of Thailand. By the end of 2019, she pinned over 1,700 performances across 72 countries to her gig list, playing at Tomorrowland, Love Parade, Loveland, Watergate Berlin, D Edge Sao Paulo, The Egg London, Marktkantine Amsterdam, and Rainbow Serpent Australia, plus countless other top venues, festivals, and events.

After being discovered by Yann Pissenem during a first performance at Sankeys Ibiza in the summer of 2013, she became a fixed name on the white island, performing regularly at hotspots like Ushuaia, Amnesia, Sankeys, Zoo Project, and Blue Marlin. As a promoter, she made history in Thailand with her legendary “Nakadia Welcomes” nights, hosting Loco Dice and the legendary Sven Väth an impressive seven times across the country.

Nakadia has always felt the urge to spend more time producing her own sounds, but her busy tour schedule never left much time for studio work. Early releases between 2008 and 2016 gave a first glimpse of what she’s capable of. Finally, in 2018, she presented us with some exceptional techno tracks. A first EP was released on Filth on Acid in early 2019, staying in Beatport’s top 10 techno releases for two consecutive weeks. The EP was a statement, and just the start of a new chapter of Nakadia’s career. Another EP, signed by Carl Cox for his Intec imprint, was released in June of 2019. In 2020, a total of five EPs on “Kraftek”, “Octopus,” and “Set About” are scheduled for release. Nakadia couldn’t be more excited to produce more.

When I heard your story, it gave me the inspiration to follow my dream the way you followed yours. I had no money at that time, but now, 6 years later, I employ close to 500 people across 14 restaurants. You are so much more than a great DJ—you are an inspiration for today’s generation. Go out there, tell your story, and infect people with your positive energy!

Thai Electro DJ, Nakadia, on International Stardom and a New Album

Since she first started out in 2002, the thai-born dj has now garnered an international reputation. ahead of her gig at glow and her upcoming world tour nakadia shares her views and discusses her musical progression..

How do you think you’ve changed from when you first started? Totally, both as a person and an artist. I feel music in a different way. Before as a DJ I was checking for new tracks and played my sets—that was it. Now my life is taken over completely by my work: the way I dress, the way I think, they way I design my day—it’s all about the music.

How does your family handle your fame? My family can’t really imagine what’s going on, except when they see me on TV in Thailand. Then they get some idea something big is happening. They are happy and proud of me. It’s always great when I have time to visit and go back to my old life. When I’m back home, I’m the same little girl I was 10 years ago.

You have been touring a lot. Which has been your favorite gig and why? It’s so difficult to say, because everyone is different and there are so many great nights. Last August, I played my 500th international gig—no other DJ from Asia has played so much around the world. With every gig comes more experience and more to learn. My favorite club is D’Edge in Sao Paulo but Berlin is my favorite club scene in the world: it’s all about the music there. And then there are the summer festivals in Europe. Just in Holland I play 6-8 festivals every summer and some of them have more than 50,000 people. As I said: too many favorites.

What is the difference between Thai and International audiences? It’s always great to play in Thailand and I have so much fun here, but in Thailand I miss the real music lovers—the people that come to the club to hear exciting new music. In Europe there is a very hard split between the “commercial” scene and the “cool” scene. As a DJ you have to choose what scene you want to belong to. In Thailand we don’t have this “cool” scene. It makes playing in Thailand easier because the dance floor is already happy if you make a good party—they will not disrespect you if you choose a wrong record. But for all the electronic music artists in Thailand, it is very hard to get work because most clubs just want the same “standard” music and most dance floors don’t want to take the journey into new sounds. I hope that in the future more Thais will have a passion for music and look for something exciting in the music.

What is the most important thing about being a DJ? When you start as a DJ, normally your goal is to find a club where you can play as a resident DJ. In this case you have to make your boss and the dance floor happy. When I started touring internationally I was working in the same way—trying to make the dance floor happy and getting success that way. But I got to a point when I had to think what I wanted for my life: continue to play music you don’t like and make money, or go your own way and play music that you love. Last week I got an amazing offer to become part of one of the world’s biggest DJ brands. I could make a lot of money immediately with much less work, but I did not even have to think about it—I immediately refused because I want to go my own way.

Which Thai or International artist do you want to work with? My biggest idol is Richie Hawtin. I already played one event with him in Switzerland this year, and from that day on, he is the one artist that I respect the most. I never really liked his productions, but as an artist on stage he is the best and a big inspiration! In Thailand I have the most respect for a young artist from my hometown Korat: TJ Tiesjungle. He has so much talent, plays great sets and produces amazing music. Artists like TJ should get more chances in Thailand and abroad.

What is next? I am working hard on my first album and I am also planning an album with some Thai jazz musicians. The jazz album is something that I am really excited about and I hope it will be finished at the end of 2012. My focus is on producing now and I already have a number of great tracks ready to be released.

DJ Nakadia's ready to rock Bangkok

PUBLISHED : 20 Dec 2022 at 04:00

NEWSPAPER SECTION: Life

DJ Nakadia's ready to rock Bangkok

Thai DJ Nakadia will return to Bangkok with her Berlin-inspired "Black Cat: Bangkok Meets Berlin" party at V12 by Onyx, Royal City Avenue, on Friday at 9pm.

The venue will be transformed into a Berlin-style techno club where everyone will dive into the music, forget the world outside, leave the problems of life behind for a few hours and enjoy what is said to be more than just electronic music.

This is Nakadia's first visit in many years and she will use her musical abilities as a world-famous artist touring the globe to turn every room into a wild party zone.

Nakadia has carried her unstoppable energy since childhood while growing up as an Isan farmer's daughter. She discovered her passion to be a DJ on her first night out during her first trip to Europe where she was exposed to techno music 20 years ago.

She devoted herself to finding the perfect sonic fuse and, in 2003, she moved to Koh Samui where her gigs launched her international career. She pioneered the rise of the underground in Thailand and decided to move to Berlin in 2010 as her constantly-full tour schedule made it impossible to keep working out of her home country.

By the end of this year she had over 1,800 performances across 78 countries, having played sold-out venues across Latin America, the US, Europe and Asia. With a tour schedule fully booked for six months in advance, Nakadia has become one of the world's most successful female techno DJs from Asia.

Tickets cost 450 baht and can be purchased from buytickets.at. Dress code is black, shiny, nets, chains and fantasy.

An intense 3-hour show performed with heart and soul by Dutch rock and roll giants The Cosmic Carnival.

ASIAN ARTISTS ROSTER We believe that the Asian electronic music industry will grow faster if domestic talent get the chance to develop their career not only in their home country but also in the neighboring countries and overseas.   In 2008 we signed our first Thai DJ Nakadia and in 2017 we signed our first Chinese DJ Jasmine Li . By today Nakadia played in  7 2  countries  with an average of 100+ shows a year. We now can proudly say Nakadia is the busiest Asian female DJ worldwide.
