The short walk to Kuranda village led to lots of souvenir shops, cafes and much more. We enjoyed our ice cream there! The Army Ducks were very educational about the various types of plants. An insightful journey into the Aboriginal culture which included the dancing to the didgeridoo, art of javelin hunting and tips on throwing a boomerang, The bbq lunch was so delicious!! Our close encounter with wildlife was superb, like the kangaroo, koala, crocodile and the reptiles. The tips provided by Jude were really helpful. You would assume something must definitely go wrong but their professional service and organisational skills are amazing. The third time we booked everything very late and still they were able to accommodate all our requests. They gave useful suggestions and the best way to maximise 3 days to the fullest. They picked us up from the hotel or if we were a little late they were not fussy, the day trip was organised thoroughly including food and they were able to add extra things without any cost to us. Even though the train was down for maintenance, Jude made certain we had a great experience on the gondola with a Diamond View both ways. Rainforest, duck ride and Aboriginal culture was very interesting and fun. Finally saw Koalas and Kangaroos too! Jude gave excellent instructions on how to navigate between travel connections to get too and around the park. Jude also saved the day for us when our Great Barrier Reef excursion was cancelled last-minute with another vendor. The one Jude lined up for us blew our minds. A helicopter ride to the reef and Green Island, catamaran ride to a floating pontoon secured in the reef and back to Cairns. While on the floating pontoon we got up close with sealife in a semi-submersible sub and a phenomenal "scuba doo" ride that allowed us to do a once in a lifetime "version" of scuba diving -- fantastic! Thank so much Jude for a wonderful couple of days and then the extra service with a ride to the airport too! Now that is cusomter service!! Highly recommend Travel Triangle!!! We booked for 3 days, supposed to return at night time, but our flight got cancelled, so we wanted this car to stay with us till morning (same time as pick up time) (if you hire car from anywhere in Australia, it is same for pick up and return), but Jade (Manager) asked us to pay for 1 extra day. We had a few hiccups in having our Kuranda day trip booked on the wrong day for us and unable to be changed (it was also only brought to our attention the day before) - but we had flexibility in our schedule so it worked out ok. Our trip to the outer reef was very smooth. We hired a car which was easy to pick up and drop off at a competitive price to hire. There probably needed to be greater clarity around costs of airport pick up/drop off to ensure there were no surprise costs, but otherwise the hire process was fine. Would recommend a thorough clean of the inside of the car, but otherwise it did the job. Thanks for your help and promptness in answering our questions both before and during the trip. Please don't take his vehicles for even a week. This person provides people vehicles with unroadworthy tyres. His contract is done in favour of his benefits only. He breaches the contract half of the way and get the car by force. At the end he is trying to charge the customer for breaching contract and add so many false charges to avoid to refund the deposit. This person is appearing very charming to get the business but at the end you will feel that you have already got caught. Marineland Melanesia* (entrance fees apply) on Green Island houses the largest crocodile in the world called Cassius, and when you are up beside him it is scary to think what he could do to you if he gets out of there.

Here you will see crocodile feeding displays and learn about these pre-historic predators along with seeing rescued sea turtles in rehab and also see old pictures of days gone by when crocodile hunting was permitted.

You will cruise in air conditioned comfort on the catamaran to the secure spacious interactive platform moored at the magnificent Norman reef on the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef off Cairns. 

This is the only Great Barrier Reef tour where you can do an island and ocean hop by adding a visit to Green Island to the itinerary first thing in the morning.

What can you do and see on a Great Barrier Reef Pontoon?

A floating pontoon on the reef offers all the in water toys and the complimentary activities on board the pontoon include a Semi-Submersible Submarine Boat ride that has glass windows all around for you to see the reef and marine life from your comfortable seat, an underwater observatory which is located on the platform where you can take photographs of your friends and family snorkelling and or scuba diving*, snorkelling gear with instruction and supervision provided.

If you are not a very strong swimmer or you have children with you just ask the crew for a pool noodle and or a floatation vest so you can float around in the water for as long as you like.

Optional extras are guided snorkelling tours with a marine biologist or marine naturalist, scuba diving, Scuba Doo and helicopter scenic flights over the reef (infant age 3 must pay child price).

From the semi-submersible submarine tour the amount of marine life and coral that you have the chance to see is endless. 

Make sure you keep an eye out for the elegant green sea turtles, the giant clams and the ever popular Nemo and his friends hiding in his anemone.

Guided Snorkel Safaris

We cater for a range of people and different levels and abilities.  The boats crew are very patient with beginner snorkelers and offer full instructional guidelines to help you in the water.

Guided snorkelling trips are available at an additional charge and the crew take you away from the pontoon to some of the most beautiful coral you will ever see.

They take you to the coral reef bommies that hide spectacular marine life such as green sea turtles, giant Maori Wrasse and all types of tropical fish in brilliant colours.

Scuba Diving (Introductory & certified)

If you have ever wanted to try scuba diving for the first time or it has always been your dream to scuba dive on the Great Barrier Reef the crew will be more than happy to make that dream a reality as you see that their passion for underwater is second to none and they appreciate the smiles on the divers faces as they resurface and get told that was the best experience they have ever done. 

It’s a lot of fun and no scuba diving experience is necessary to try an introductory scuba dive (medical questionnaire to be filled out on board) as all dives are fully escorted and guided by the experienced crew. 

For the certified scuba divers the dive instructors will guide you on an underwater adventure to see the spectacular Great Barrier Reef and marine life in all its wonder.

Children must be 12 years and older to scuba dive.

If scuba diving isn’t your thing why not try the  Scuba Doo , the only place in Australia where you can ride a scooter (underwater motor bike) underwater!

Upon boarding the boat, you will depart Marine World at 3:30pm for a 5:00pm arrival back to Reef Fleet Terminal in Cairns. Return transfers to your accommodation in Cairns or Cairns Northern Beaches can be organised at an additional cost.

As you take off, be prepared for amazing views of the Cairns city skyline and its surrounding waterways, mangroves, estuaries and beaches. 

Heading north east, you will find yourself soaring above Trinity Forest Reserve, Yarrabah Peninsula and the blue waters of Mission Bay.

Continuing east, your pilot will steer you above the Coral Sea. 

Have your camera ready as you soar past Fitzroy Island, a popular day trip destination from Cairns.

As you fly above the swirling reefs and coral of Sudbury Cay, keep your eyes peeled for Sudbury Sand Cay.

City Parks Foundation has announced the 2024 season of Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage, New York City’s iconic outdoor performing arts festival, bringing 85 free and benefit shows to Central Park and 13 neighborhood parks across the five boroughs. 

Andra Day , Ethel Cain, Ghostface Killa and Kim Gordon are just four of the artists slated to perform.

 Returning for its 38th year, the festival will showcase established and emerging artists from across the globe in a wide variety of genres. The full lineup appears below.

The 2024 SummerStage season will feature ticketed benefit shows in Central Park to help support City Parks Foundation’s free performances. Live Nation, this season’s official provider of benefit concerts, will present English singer-songwriter James Arthur on May 17; Trinidadian soca group KES on June 8; Jamaican-American R&B artist Masego on June 19; prolific American rapper and record producer T-Pain on June 23; a joint experience featuring legendary Mexican rock bands Caifanes and Café Tacvba on June 26; Indie singer- songwriter Ethel Cain on June 27; three nights of pride celebrations featuring Trixie Mattell, Above & Beyond and others from June 28 through June 30; American rock/folk band Counting Crows on July 11; Irish rock band The Saw Doctors on July 17; a South African amapiano dance party from Piano People; contemporary worship music collective Elevation Worship on July 31; genre-bending jazz and R&B stars Robert Glasper featuring Yebba on August 1; David Cross and his Super Pals featuring Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Silverman, Fred Armisen and more on August 8; alternative rock bands The Gaslight Anthem, Joyce Manor and Pinkshift on August 21; and hip-hop band The Roots with Jungle Brothers and Digable Planets on August 23. More benefit shows will be announced throughout the season.

Team golf returns to the PGA TOUR this week with the eighth two-man edition of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

Hosted at TPC Louisiana, the Zurich Classic welcomes 80 teams of two to dissect the swamp just outside New Orleans. Beginning with the 2017 tournament, two-man teams have played Four-balls (best ball) and Foursomes (alternate shot) to determine the champion.

DraftKings – Top of the Board

Both ranking inside the top 10 of the Official World Golf Rankings, Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele ($11,200) are the duo to defeat again. The 2022 champions shared fourth place last year in defense and tied more records. After setting the Four-balls mark of 59 in Round 1 in 2022, they equaled the Foursomes total of 63 last year. With Cantlay picking up his annual podium finish last week at Harbour Town and Schauffele cashing Top 25s for breakfast, it’s either fade or follow.

Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry ($10,700) pair up for the first time in New Orleans. The Florida neighbors and Ryder Cup teammates will be looking to push each other over the finish line for a much-needed victory in both camps. The ability to paint the sprinkler line and rack up GIR will be the point of separation. The heat from the putters will determine their level of contention.

Overvalued or undervalued?

The Canadian club of Corey Conners and Taylor Pendrith ($9,500) have taken different paths to get here. Conners has not played this event since 2019, while Pendrith cashed T13 with Michael Gligic last season. Big hitters off the tee, Pendrith is the putting savant of the bunch. Forming the chemistry and playing alternate shot from opposite ends of the SG: Approach spectrum will be interesting. I’ll take the runners-up from last year instead.

The pairing of Billy Horschel and Tyson Alexander ($8,900) would have provided more value if the two-time champ had calmly missed the cut last weekend in Punta Cana. Tossing in his affinity for TPC Louisiana with his red-hot week in the Dominican Republic, these two Gators in the swamp are not sneaking up on anyone.

Taylor Moore and Matt NeSmith ($7,700) are making their third appearance together and have never finished outside of T4. Moore is rattling off made cuts for fun, but NeSmith has had a quiet spring. The partnership should rekindle the annual fire.

If Danish twins Rasmus and Nicolai Højgaard ($9,100) are too rich for your lineup, head to Texas for twins Parker and Pierceson Coody ($6,660). Coming off a very solid week in the Dominican Republic, Parker secured his first top-10 payday with T6, while Pierceson hit the top 20 with a share of 18 th place.

Makers or breakers

With the Presidents Cup heading to Royal Montreal in September, Canadians Nick Taylor and Adam Hadwin ($9,200) will probably not be playing for the last time together in 2024. Returning as the runner-up duo from their first-time coupling last year, the Canadians posted 28-under – a total that would have won five of prior seven editions. Obviously not distracted by the NHL playoffs or the format, Taylor picked up his second top-10 in four starts with two different partners, while Hadwin secured his first top-10 finish. Taylor is the only winner this season on TOUR of the teams listed above. Hadwin has taken home T6 or better money three times in 2024 but has not found the top-three podium.

I expect an onslaught of ownership this week for Sahith Theegala and Will Zalatoris ($10,300) from the top end. Zalatoris shared fourth here with Nick Hardy in 2022 before missing last year through injury. Theegala joins the party after cashing second at RBC Heritage last week, while Zalatoris has hit the top 10 in three of his last six. Young and fun, I’d expect a pile of birdies circled from this duo.

The Sea Island duo of Davis Thompson and Andrew Novak ($8,100) should be flying well under the radar. Cashing six of eight with four in the top 25, Thompson joins Novak in the middle of a career-best year on TOUR. A run of three consecutive events in the top 10 was halted by a missed cut at THE PLAYERS. Rebounding nicely, he’s made the weekend in his last three, including T17 at Valspar.

Playing for your country can be a powerful motivator. The Presidents Cup International team is welcoming auditions for the September event at Royal Montreal. The Taiwanese duo Kevin Yu and C.T. Pan ($7,800) know they can provide a way for Captain Mike Weir to notice them this week.

Here’s a look at how I would devise a six-team roster this week while staying below the $50,000 salary cap offered for DraftKings contests:

• Sahith Theegala and Will Zalatoris ($10,300)
• Nick Taylor and Adam Hadwin ($9,200)
• Davis Thompson and Andrew Novak ($8,100)
• Kevin Yu and C.T. Pan ($7,800)
