Great all- inclusive for those with kids

t was our first time in an all inclusive so was a bit nervous especially after reading some reviews. This hotel is geared towards families with kids and yes the hotel is busy but it is August. There are lots of sunbeds but those specifically right in front of the pool are taken by 8am but there are other sunbeds and parasols that are unreserved. The main pool has daily activities and the pool boys do aqua aerobics, floats and other pool games and make it fun for all that want to join in. But there are 5 other pools too, with various depths. The food in the main buffet restaurant has lots of variety. The kids have their own section too as well as being able to choose from the main sections. The kids could try all types of food that they wouldn’t normally eat. There was fresh fish and steaks on the grill that is freshly cooked at dinner and omelettes freshly cooked at breakfast. The food was nice and there is lots of choice. There was the standard kid foods like chips, fish fingers, chicken nuggets, pizza, pasta and sausages but if you have more adventurous children then there was paella, pork chops, steaks and plenty of vegetables and salads for them to try. There were snacks during the day and a freezer of ice creams that the kids could help themselves to. The pool bars were well staffed and I only ever had to wait behind a couple of people at the most for drinks. The free mini golf was good too. The rooms are air conditioned with separate controls for the bedroom and living room. It was safe enough to leave mobiles and wallets on the sunbeds whilst we wandered about. The beach is a leisurely 10-15 minutes walk with shops along the route. Special thanks to Lucia in reception and the lady with blonde hair in the Ibiza restaurant who both were really helpful with our queries. We had a great time and all the staff work really hard. The kids were well fed and entertained and the pools were great so happy all round. Thank you. More

Second time visiting this hotel, the first time we came it was amazing. Sadly this time we were left disappointed. I emailed the hotel twice prior to our holiday to request a pool/ entertainment view which they replied to, on arrival we were given rooms which faced a neighbouring hotel with trees in front of the balcony. We immediately asked if we could be moved and the reply was that we hadn’t requested a pool view yet I have the emails on my phone! I asked 3 times to be moved and no effort was made. This ruined my holiday as I don’t agree that a land view should be the same price as a pool view. The evening entertainment was also very poor this time. Food was ok but was very repetitive and we ended up eating out a few times. On the plus side The cleaners and restaurant staff were great and very polite. Sadly we won’t be returning again mainly for the lack of effort in a room change and not worth the price we paid.

But we would just like to make you aware that we have a large number of guests who come back to visit us year after year and we have a great deal of room requests, on many occasions for the same or similar rooms. We always do our best to comply but we also always stress that a room request can never be guaranteed. In high season, when we are running at full capacity, it is very difficult to comply, as has been your case. The entertainment team is the same as previous years, as are most of the acts on offer. We are sorry that, on this occasion, you didn’t enjoy them as much as you had done on your previous visit. We would like to thank you for having highlighted the positive aspects of your stay, with regard to our staff. Again, we are sorry that, on this occasion, your holiday was not as enjoyable as your previous stay, but we hope you give us another opportunity to welcome you to Protur Hotels so we can offer you the perfect holiday experience that you deserve.

Unfortunately the hotel has slipped on its standards since our last visit 5years ago. The cleanliness of the hotel is nowhere near 4star, especially the rooms with the maid service only changing towels, making beds and thats it. There was ants crawling all over the kitchenette surface which I complained about many times but nothing was done about it, balcony door not cleaned once in two weeks. Beds were also like sleeping on the concrete floor. Mould areas all around the pool, didnt seem to be a lot of cleaning going on in these areas of a morning like many other hotels Food - Never once had something that was actually hot, all food lukewarm at best. Alcoholic drinks offered on the All Inclusive far from a 4 star, cocktails, beer and wine almost undrinkable. Plenty to do for kids but unfortunately the hotel is probably closer to a 3 star than 4.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay - it absolutely provides a fantastic family holiday. Super spacious apartment with kitchenette ( useful even though all inclusive - as babies like buttered toast before the restaurants open - just ask reception for a toaster ) The entertainment team work hard, children love their mini disco each evening. Lots on offer all day for older kids, lots of pools to choose from busy, quiet, slides for toddlers. Food really good, lots fresh salads, salmon, prawns, steak, pork escalopes, lasagna, pastas, pizza and kids basics - fish fingers etc. how people complain is beyond me. It is very clean, the staff work really hard, and are friendly. Mini golf and mini boats, fish to feed a little farm to visit, they really have tried to keep every one happy. Some quiet picturesque spots too. I don’t rate the beach, small and crowded. I wouldn’t come for an adults only break, but with family children you can’t do much better. There were big extended families, birthday celebrations, just great. We are ready to book for next year! Many thanks to all the staff. As another reviewer said, if you need anything, just ask, they will do their best to help.

Would you like to sleep on an actual bed and not a sofa? Do not book here! There are many reasons not to book this awful awful place but here are a few. Amazing how Tui can get away with how they market this hotel. It is so far from a 4 star I can’t even explain. I am very glad to see some honest REAL review coming through this past week which represent how awful this hotel really is! Although it is a shame the hotel cannot accept responsibility for their appalling standards. The rooms were DIRTY on check in with brown dirt and hair collected in the corner of the bathroom. The fridge cracked and sharp, the bedding drawn on with permanent marker and smelly. It was all revolting. Not even a bottle of water when you arrived! This alone indicates far from a 4 star and I wish it had only been this! Very dated rooms, broken furniture, bad decor etc. The sofa beds are small, budget sofas with sheets on. The food is vile and served on paper plates with wooden cutlery and drinks in paper cups that disintegrate. I appreciate food is subjective but honestly it really was gross. I had to put my children’s pasta back because it was swimming in oil! Juice comes from a machine and is syrup - I wouldn’t feed to my children. The pools are so busy, and the number of Sun loungers on pictures from TUI and the hotel does not represent the actual number crammed into the space around the pool. 8 rows deep in some places, not the nicely spaced 2 x 2 set up on pictures!!! There are 2 ‘Balinese’ beds by the ‘relax pool’ which isn’t a relax pool and just as busy. 2 beds vs 600 rooms…. You have to pay for anything that didn’t cost the hotel more than 10p. Bottles of water, crisps, ice creams, decent cocktails, bottled drinks and beers. Wine is on tap and is hideous. Coffee is from a vending style machine and equally horrible. Crazy golf, mini boats, water park all cost more money. So what you actually pay for when booking is some diabolical food, a dirty, dated room and a pool you can’t use because it’s like sitting in the middle of a music concert. This hotel is CHEAP(but not in what they charge), GRIMY and TACKY they cut corners everywhere and take advantage of people who want to have a nice time away with children. It is a total rip off and you would get better in a caravan park to be quite honest (which I have stayed in plenty). The balconies are totally unsafe. The rubbish is never taken out, you have to do that yourself. The hallway carpet is sticky and stinky. A number of lifts broken. High chairs all broken and dirty. Snacks ARE NOT available all day, if they are they are hidden away in some obscure place as we could never find them and even whe lunch food is out, you cannot get it until 1pm so not ideal for young children!!

Whilst we appreciate constructive feedback as it helps us to improve, we would just like to address some of the issues mentioned therein: -the one-bedroom apartments offer a separate bedroom with twin beds plus 2 sofa beds not just 2 sofa beds. -all meals in the dining rooms are served on normal plates and there are glasses for drinks. In compliance with health and safety regulations, at the snack bar and around the pool areas paper plates/cups are supplied. -ice creams, ice lollies and mini golf are included in the All Inclusive. If guests want premium cocktails, there is a small supplement. The Splash Park is free for the children to use, the water park is marked online as having a small supplement. -the balcony balustrades conform to all safety requirements and we are regularly audited by an independent safety standards company. As is only common sense, children should never be allowed on a balcony unsupervised. -the main dining room is open from 12.30pm not 1pm. On arrival, guests are given an information sheet and a QR code which contains all hotel information so that guests can consult it should they need to. Reception staff are also always available for any consultation guests may wish to make. -high chairs are regularly checked and any that are not up to standard are replaced. -cleaning is carried our 5 times a week, as advertised. Should guests require any additional cleaning for any reason, our reception staff are only too happy to arrange it. Choosing the right place for your holiday, so that it offers you the kind of holiday you’re looking for, is very important. The Protur Safari Park is advertised as a family-orientated aparthotel with 616 rooms. Perhaps, since you say that you are more accustomed to holidaying at caravan sites, this was not the ideal place for you and your family and you would have better enjoyed one of our smaller aparthotels with a self-catering option, out of high season. At Protur Hotels our aim is to offer our guests a fun-filled, relaxing stay and according to the feedback we get from the vast majority of our guests, that is what we do. We are sorry that this has not been your experience with us.

We spent 10 days at this resort and we had a fantastic time. Food was excellent on all but one day, and even then we didn't go hungry. We had one meal in the Italian restaurant La Fontana which, again was really tasty (pizza was the best). No queuing for drinks at anytime, the bar staff were super efficient. Pools were never to crowed although the water in main pool was a bit colder than the others. Rooms were lovely and fresh with a/c and great free WiFi. Towels changed whenever you wanted. The towel service from the hotel for the was also great. One change per stay I think. The entertainment was generally good, one or two nights were probably only ok. Kids clubs and kids was always busy from what I could see. Only negative things I would say are, the water park isn't worth the money. This should be included when staying all inclusive. In our block there were often queues for the lifts as only one was working, we just took the stairs but if you had little ones and buggies this could present a problem. Just one pool table was working which limited play at peak times but table tennis and mini golf were free and great fun instead. Overall would return.
