My friend and I just did the OK wine shuttle yesterday. This was my second time doing this tour and I had an even better experience than the first time. Not only were we the only ones doing the tour, but they had a great deal and the driver, Bernie, was amazing. He had great recommendations of where to visit, and even took a lot of photos for us. We really enjoyed the tour! The bus was big and comfortable, and the Bernie provided us with a box for all the wine we bought. Great customer service and an all around great experience. I would highly recommend this one :-)

Back in the day, we wouldn't have thought twice about having some tasters (and then some more, and then some more) in wine country. But that was before the new legal alcohol consumption limits went into play. And you know what? Thank goodness, because with OK Wine Shuttle, not only did we need not worry about our sobriety, we also had an air conditioned place to store our purchases. I really didn't know what to expect when we booked the shuttle. I certainly didn't expect the friendliest driver hailing from Ontario by way of Burnaby to ham it up with us the whole time! Nor did I expect to be the only people on the shuttle. Going mid week has its perks - less people is one of them. Feeling like we had our own private driver for $45/person was another, and might I add, very worth it. Baller! From what I gathered from JP (the driver extraordinaire), it's a little more hectic on the weekends. When they're busy they will attempt to group you together at wineries and will shuttle you around to the next one, making their way from Penticton to the furthest reaches of Naramata and back again. With the wineries keeping a tight proximity to one another, going to the ones that you want to is pretty doable. They also focus on both the family estates as well as the more established spots. Some notes: if you're in Penticton, there are three main "hop on hop off" spots. If you're in Naramata, call ahead and they'll come get you! Our driver mentioned that he knows how busy it's going to be around 1:30 pm. We started with him before 11am and had made a lot of headway by that time. It's worth starting out earlier! Bring cash. They're cash only! And I'm sure they appreciate tips too.

Bernie was our shuttle driver and he was the perfect host! Very fun and funny and made sure we were well taken care of everywhere we went. Took us to hill side for lunch and it was amazing!! I recommend him and the shuttle service to anyone wanting to have a great experience wine tasting. :) :)

We were in Penticton for the 2013 Thanksgiving weekend for a meetup with some friends. Since there were 8 of us going on a wine tour, our Penticton hosts decided to charter an OK Wine Shuttle for our own private tour. Our driver Burke was funny, cheerful and knowledgeable. Our wonderful hosts Ted and Shannon have lived in the area for a few years and have many favourite wineries and belong to wine clubs at many of them. Burke showed up right on time (10 am) and off we went. We started at Blasted Church wineries for our own reasons and carried on from there. With a 10 am start a wine shuttle is a great idea so there are no problems with BC's guilty but innocent, alcohol limits. With a private tour the driver boxes up your purchases and puts them on van, no carrying of precious bottles while tipsy. Plus with 186 wineries and the rolling winding roads it is best to have a professional driver. I highly recommend OK Wine Shuttle and not drinking and driving. Thanks to Ted and Shannon and our driver Burke for a wonderful worryfree tour of Penticton's wineries.

I booked the hop on hop off wine tour for myself and my boyfriend months in advance as we were planning to be in Osoyoos for Labour Day long weekend and assumed it would be busy. My boyfriend was a bit skeptical about spending the day tasting wine (he isn't a huge fan). We arrived at the Watermark Hotel (our pickup point) and noticed there was a small group of women on a stagette waiting for the shuttle as well as another group of women. This made us both a bit nervous as we were hoping for a bit of a quieter day. From the minute Bob pulled up with the shuttle he made sure that each group had a say in their day. I had an idea of a few wineries we wanted to see, and we wanted to stop for lunch at the Burrowing Owl. Bob said that wouldn't be a problem. The other two groups just wanted to go to as many no fee wineries as possible. We weren't concerned with paying tasting fees. After the first few group stops (and Bob running in to sort out our lunch reservation), he managed to split the groups so that the rest of the van was stopping at the same winery, while my boyfriend and I basically got a private shuttle as he would drop one group off, go back for the other and so on. We managed to see 6 gorgeous wineries and a wonderful lunch. Bob did such.a great job of reading the individual needs of the group. He basically simultaneously ran two completely different tours as the other group didn't want to pay any tasting fees. I was so nervous about booking a hop on hop off but the price was so reasonable and the experience so special that I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Bob was so knowledgeable about the wineries and the people, and so relaxed. The day never felt rushed and we were also never left waiting for too long. My boyfriend who wasn't so sure about this trip absolutely loved it and can't wait to go again. This tour was the perfect way to end the summer. I highly recommend that you request Bob when you book your tour!

Spoke with the owner (John) on the phone to get a feel for what the day would be like, and decided it was the best fit for my wife and I. We've been on wine tours before, but this was the most flexible and enjoyable so far. Margaret picked us, and two other couples, up at our hotel and then spent the day whisking us around from place to place. John (The owner of OK Wine Shuttle.) had given me a glowing recommendation for The Vanilla Pod restaurant, at Poplar Grove Vineyard, and it was the perfect meal in a beautiful setting. All-in-all an amazing day. Margaret did a great job hosting our excursion, and the wine was fantastic. Great business model John. I'll be recommending this to all my family and friends.

The bf and I took a quick trip up to Osoyoos to camp for a couple of nights by the lake. I love wine tastings (and am still learning what I like and don't like) so naturally this was the main draw to the area (well this, the abundant sunshine, and beautiful lake at our doorstep). My bf is not a wine drinker so I wasn't keen on us spending $120+ each on a "traditional" tour. Also, he's quite last minute with things so the "no reservations needed" was awesome for us. Just show up and off you go. Wasn't quite sure what to expect, as I thought it would be more of a bus-type situation where you wait for the next one to swing by and just mosey on throughout your day to the wineries of your choice. But it sure felt like a solid wine tour for a fraction of the price. There ended up being 3 couples (including us) in a spacious, air conditioned (key selling point as well) van. We mentioned the wineries on the list that we wanted to go to, they suggested a few smaller ones, and off we went. The driver waited for us at every winery throughout the day (surprised by this added bonus!) and was very personable to chat with. He came up with some funny mini-stories about the winters and their experience moving up there from Vancouver. We even stopped by at Tim Hortons for a nice, quick lunch midday to balance out the copious amounts of wine we were drinking. I thoroughly appreciated the casualness of it all. I suspect the "waiting" for the group might change when they are very busy, but even if we had to wait outside it would've been for no more than 1/2 hour or so, which is a perfect amount of time to spend at each winery anyway. Cannot say enough about these guys! Non-pretentious, personable, highly adaptable to requests, and all at a great affordable rate. Definitely surpassed my expectations and will be using them again next summer.

I came up to Penticton to visit friends and we all went on a wine tour with your driver Burke. He was a blast! And we had a full fun filled day traveling around to all the wineries. Fantastic shuttle service and I'd definitely have Burke drive me around again! Thank you, OK Wine Shuttle!

Ideas for a second day

We'll be happy to offer you more options if you choose to stay over a week-end. Below are a few ideas of what you might do:

• Visit a friendly animal farm in Suzdal, play with domestic animals,  sit on a real oven and try bow and arrow shooting. You might also take a bread-making master-class  
• Take a walking tour around Vladimir and visit the Assumption cathedral, famous for Andrey Rublev frescoes  
• Paint Russian matryoshka  
• Forge your own nail at the acting smithy in Vladimir,  and learn more  about the profession of the smith
