Oklahoma’s own Blake Shelton is a television personality, but most known as an American Country music star based in Nashville, Tennessee.

Born on 19 June 1976, Shelton was musically inclined from an early age, writing his first song at the age of 12 and then moving to Nashville at the age of 17 to pursue his country music career. In 1997 he got a production contract with Sony Music, and by 2001 he signed with Giant Records and released his first single “Austin,” which spent five weeks at Number 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart. Giant Records closed down and Shelton was transferred to the parent company, Warner Bros Records where his debut self-titled album was released in 2001. With his first record hitting Gold Status, he followed up with his second album, “The Dreamer” consequently earning him a second Gold status record in 2003. The following year he released his third album ”Blake Shelton’s Bar and Grill” and an accompanying DVD that featured several music videos and live performances of songs off the album.

In 2007 Shelton would find continued success with his fourth album, “Pure BS” becoming his third Gold record. It also featured a guest appearance of his then girlfriend (now wife) fellow country music star, Miranda Lambert. Shelton was inducted into The Grand Ole Opry on 23 October 2010 following his performance at the Opry. The following year he was invited to be a judge a new reality singing competition, called “The Voice.”

Balancing his television appearances, touring and studio time, Shelton released “Red River Blue” in 2011, which earned him a whopping 22 award nominations over a two year period, including two consecutive Country Music Awards (CMA) wins for Male Vocalist of the Year. That same year he also released his first Christmas album, which included duets with pop artist Kelly Clarkson, fellow country star, Reba, and wife Miranda Lambert.

In true star fashion, 2013 wsa just as successful with the release of a new album “Based On A True Story” as well as a Best Of collection that included three discs of Shelton’s greatest singles. In addition, he made sure to include a tour so that his fans could still have a chance to see him perform live. Still a coach on “The Voice” he announced the news that he was working on a ninth studio album, “Brining Back The Sunshine,” which was released in the fall of 2014.

Live reviews

Let's get the complaints out of the way first: Wrigley Field, what horrible placement for a venue. It comes to the advantage of the residents of Wrigleyville that they can charge $60 for a parking spot because there is NO PARKING LOT. Gr. That started me off in a bad mood. Anyways. Having been to concerts before - none quite as country hard as Blake - I wasn't sure what to expect. For one, you've got the drinking; EVERYONE is drinking and it starts to feel like a party just because of that. Kimberly from The Band Perry made a beautiful remark about country music's power to bring together people of all kinds and that was evident by the audience. Before the show even started, I had quite a quite a good time just watching all the dancing (some the product of overly giddy drinking). The show was kicked off with the US 99.5 team doing the typical "how ready are you" call and response spiel, followed by their introduction of Neal McCoy as the night's emcee of sorts. He came out throughout the night with some witty comments and jokes, occasionally singing, but mostly he seemed a little... washed up? Dan and Shay came onstage introduced by Neal as the really attractive guy and the short guy - rather fitting comparatively, but not necessarily respectively. They played of few of their songs which a good amount of people knew, culminating with "19 You and Me," their biggest hit. I was touched by their commentary on where they had been a year ago compared to where they are now. I believe most people in the stands, where I was, were still sitting at this point. That changed once The Band Perry came onstage. The Band Perry had an incredibly fun performance, thoroughly accomplishing their goal of getting the audience riled up for Blake. They all have so much energy and passion for their performance, something visible in their music but evident in their show. They only have two albums but they did a really nice job of going through most of them, including my personal favorite of "If I Die Young." With TBP all us country music fans had an example of our capability in changing lives and they made their appreciation known, just as Dan and Shay did. TBP also covered "Timber" (Pitbull) and "Fat Bottomed Girls," bringing in that diversity that makes country music so great. Overall, an excellent lead-in. Neal McCoy came back on for about 15 minutes to sing a mashup of some classics and some new stuff but I think he might have been drunk at this point because I couldn't tell if he was joking or not... His performance mostly gave people the chance to buy food and go to the bathroom. And then: the big guy himself. Blake Shelton came on after the playing of "Bust A Move," a fun but questionable selection. Then the real fun began. There was a real nice job done making sure he played all sorts of his music: starting off kind of country-twang, going into some of his oldies, cooing some love ballads...very complete mix. Having been to some very over-the-top shows, the theatrics were a little underwhelming, but nice in their simplicity. I think the true essence of a country music concert like the Ten Times Crazier tour was the audience reaction and input, truly making it feel like a party, especially towards the end; Blake Shelton's encore performance included his rendition of "Footloose," to which everyone danced to SO enthusiastically and "God Gave Me You" which left everyone in high, loving spirits. The best part of Blake's performance was his effortless ability to see us as country music fans despite our location way up North; he made it easy for us to show off our "Hillbilly Bone." Despite my hesitance on whether or not I would truly be able to enjoy myself, not being that big of a Blake Shelton fan, I had a phenomenal time.

Blake Shelton was a great preformer! It was his first Saskatoon concert and he didn't know what to expect, but he got a great response from the country folk of Saskatchewan! He does lots of his new music but still brings back his classic old stuff too! Even though it was a Tuesday, the turn out was incredible. The Credit Union Centre was full. I'm always very pleased each time I find the artist sounding just like I've always heard them on the radio, and Blake Shelton was definitely not any exception to this. He has an amazing voice and a great personality in stage to top it off! It was nice to see him trying to connect with the audience by walking out on the stage up to them, grabbing hands, and throwing out guitar picks. He even pointed out a couple at the stage's edge, and brought them right into the show! It was great to see he can improvise in his show and proves he is actually funny on his own! (65) Blake brought along Gwen, from his team on The Voice, to sing back up with him and they did their duet! Seeing that he's helping out his musicians from The Voice was really cool! Overall a very exciting and enjoyable concert! I would Definitely recommend seeing Blake Shelton live!

Blake Shelton, Country music sensation and TV personality knows how to conduct a show with his confident mannerism and natural interaction with his crowd. His amount of chart topping material also helps as his huge discography has endless possible setlist combinations that will delight his ever loyal fan base who continue to pack out venues.

From the beginning of the show, the crowd and performer share an equal high energy during toe stomper 'All About Tonight' and 'Kiss My Country Ass'. Although not all the set was dedicated to the high octane country sound, he often slowed down the pace to dedicate more balladic numbers such as 'Over You', some of which were dedicated to his wife Miranda Lambert who Blake holds in incredibly high favour.

His backing band are notably slick and support him throughout as Blake chooses to play his trusty acoustic and use his country vocal whilst the band create everything else. A tender cover of Michael Buble's 'Home' brings the main set to an emotive close and the audience cheer for more as Blake reappears for 'God Gave Me You' and the fun-filled cover of 'Footloose'. A performer more than singer.

Show was good. Raylynn opened for Blake with so gas like God made Girls. They performed for about 10 songs then intermission for Blake's set. When he came on the stage had a backdrop of two tornadoes which roared towards us a neon blue image produced a outline of Blake an he appeared. He performed all his old an new hits for awhile as his stage transformed for a theme to each song. After playing with his band and complimenting his home state crowd he settled down by himself on a extended stage in crowd with a mic an guitar singing Austin,I want to go home,an others. He then went back and opened with song he an Gwen Steffani wrote. This was a part of show we all got excited about. He introduced her an she walked out on stage a sang this song with him. Afterwards,he hugged her, looked like smooch an she exited stage. Few more hits Sangria,an then left stage. Encore song was the band,Blake, an Raylynn coming out and doing a edition of Kenny Loggans Footloose, last song before lights came up was God Gave Me You. Recommend you get in a see this tour.

Well, I didn't get to attend on Tuesday night, after the concert was postponed from Saturday! Was really disappointed that it was rescheduled to Tuesday since I had to work and my two daughters (they gave me this for my 60th birthday gift in December) were unable to return to Shreveport also. I am sorry he was sick...that couldn't be helped...but it would have been so much better had the concert been cancelled on Friday (could have gotten my money back for hotel) or the concert was postponed until a weekend. I was VERY disappointed because it was going to be my first time to see him in concert, along with Trace Adkins, Brett Eldridge and Carly Pearce. One day maybe I will see him...just so disheartening that it was rescheduled to a weeknight and not another weekend! Love The Voice and have watched all 14 seasons...makes me smile through the entire program...Hope he is feeling better!

THE GOOD BLAKE WAS GREAT. VOICE SOUNDED FABULOUS . THE GUY ON THE SOUND HAD IT PERFECT. GOOD CHOICE OF SONGS. BANTER WAS A LITTLE CONTRIVED AND OBVIOUSLY A PART OF THE SHOW. BUT BLAKE HAS THE CHARM TO PULL IT OFF.

NOT GOOD. VENUE TOO BIG FOR ME. POOR VISIBILITY. BLEACHER SEATS UNCOMFORTABLE. LOTS OF OBSTRUCTED VIEWS

AUDIENCE NEVER SAT DOWN, AND NEVER SHUT UP. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THE AMPHITHEATER AGAIN.

I HAD BEEN SEEING LIVE MUSICAL ACTS SINCE 12:00 PM AND BLAKE WAS JUST SO MUCH BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE. I UNDERSTAND THAT BLAKE TRIED TO PLEASE EVERYBODY AND SING ALL THE FAVORITES BUT PERSONALLY I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO HEAR MORE JAMMING.

ALL & ALL IT WAS A MEMORABLE CONCERT AND I'M NOW EVEN A BIGGER FAN..

Blake Shelton’s Country Freaks Tour was awesome. Everyone of the performers did an amazing job. The music was wonderful, the acoustics were good. Blake is very personable with the audience, he has a great sense of humor. He played every song you could think of that he has recorded. Brett Eldridge is fast becoming one of my favorite artists. His music is so fun. To me the best and most memorable part of the concert was Trace Adkins. I am so glad that Blake included him in the tour.

This was my first time going to Van Angel Arena, great place for concerts. I don’t think there was a bad seat in the place. Looking forward to seeing all of these artists on tour again someday.

I have seen Blake Shelton lots of times. I have never been disappointed. Blake is a very awesome wonderful great sweet charming country male artist ever My first time ever going to a concert. My daughter took me to Buffalo NY in 2016. The concert was the greatest thing I have ever seen. The entry Blake done was so entertaining. I am a fan of his. I will drive hours to hear him

I love Blake's Ole Red Saloon also. Been to Tishomingo 6 times. Both places in Tennessee 4 times. Love the Tishomingo Oklahoma the best. Got to meet his mother and everyone at the junk star store his mother has. Very great people. Someday I hope to personally meet Blake himself

FABULOUS show. Loved all performers of course. Carly Pearce was great. Love and know the songs she sang. She had a lot of energy. Brett Eldredge was terrific. Seems like he'd be a hoot to hang with. LOVED LOVED LOVED that he brought his sweet dog on stage. Blake Shelton had A LOT of energy! Was very happy his part was longer than I expected. BLOWN AWAY when Trace Adkins came out that man's voice makes my heart flutter. GREAT concert, so glad I went with my kids! They loved it also.

theresa-a-foxx’s profile image

Blake was great. The problem was the venue. It is the Falcon football stadium and they have big screens, but they did not show Blake, or Big and Rich, or the Oak Ridge Boys, on the big screens. So it was impossible to actually see the performers. Big and Rich also had terrible sound. I know all of the their songs and could barely distinguish which song was which.

Very disappointing. Will not attend anything at Falcon Stadium again. Or anything through these promoters.

Blake Shelton’s BACK TO THE HONKY TONK TOUR Arrives to Rave Reviews

BLAKE SHELTON HAS THE BAR PACKED AND THE CROWD TWO-STEPPIN’ ON HIS SOLD-OUT BACK TO THE HONKY TONK TOUR PRESENTED BY KUBOTA

Tour feat. Carly Pearce, Jackson Dean Receives Rave Reviews

Blake Shelton wanted his new Back to the Honky Tonk Tour Presented by Kubota  to have the fun, laid-back feel of his early days on the road playing clubs. With a bar that runs the entire length of the stage and thrust that features 100 barstools and a host of bartenders, the first dozen dates have had fans singing and dancing and celebrating country music. It’s safe to say Shelton has accomplished his mission!

“For two hours, Shelton made that arena feel like a wild country bar, where just about anything could happen and he was the bartender, slinging out music instead of shots,” said the  Louisville Courier-Journal  after his show there last Thursday (3/9). Calling him a “true entertainer” in the headline, the review went on to say, “For one night only Blake Shelton opened the largest honky tonk in the state of Kentucky.”

Saturday night’s show brought a similar review from the  Indianapolis Star , which noted, “Shelton’s return to Indianapolis brought heart and catchy tunes. The audience ate up everything he had and seemed to go home full. His mission to celebrate country music through ‘the biggest honky tonk in the state of Indiana’ was achieved.”

Shelton’s “Honky Tonk” is a feast of country music with openers Jackson Dean , whose debut single “Don’t Come Lookin’” recently went to No. 1, and singer-songwriter Carly Peace , who is celebrating a recent GRAMMY Award win, as well as CMA and ACM Awards for Female Vocalist of the Year. Shelton’s two-hour set runs the gamut of his career with songs, from his 2001 No. 1 debut single “Austin,” to his multi-Platinum, award-winning smash “God’s Country.”

“This throwback-themed concert tour… served as a reminder that the fun, wisecracking-but-tender coach we see on television is the same fella country music audiences still love seeing onstage,” said the  Minneapolis Star Tribune  of his recent show in the Minneapolis-St Paul area.

While there are only two weekends left on the tour, Shelton will always keep the Honky Tonk spirit alive. Tickets to remaining shows can be purchased at BlakeShelton.com .

Remaining dates of the Back to the Honky Tonk Tour : March 18 // Kansas City, MO // T-Mobile Center March 23 // Cincinnati, OH // Heritage Bank Center March 24 // Pittsburgh, PA // PPG Paints Arena March 25 // Buffalo, NY // KeyBank Center

Blake Shelton Announces Exciting News About His Tour As Gwen Stefani Reconnects With Ex

C ountry music star Blake Shelton is set to headline his eagerly anticipated Back to the Honky Tonk tour, sharing this development amid time spent apart from his spouse, Gwen Stefani.

Shelton took to Instagram, posting a story from the tour’s initial stop in Hershey, Pennsylvania. This gig marks the beginning of his nationwide musical journey.

Blake, at 47, shared an image featuring two complimentary tickets placed near the Pennsylvania venue’s entrance.

He enticed his fans by suggesting he had secreted away front-row tickets around the entrance area, sparking a fan search.

Shelton’s itinerary includes multiple stops across the U.S., culminating in Wichita, Kansas, on March 29th, along with other non-tour performances in the upcoming months, like an Oklahoma benefit concert in late March.

Meanwhile, 54-year-old Gwen Stefani has also been concentrating on her professional endeavors, leading to the couple spending less time together. Stefani revealed in early February her touring plans and focus on her cosmetics brand, GXVE Beauty. Moreover, she looks forward to her two-month reunion with her old band No Doubt at this year’s Coachella.

The union with No Doubt suggests a nostalgic comeback with her ex, stirring speculation about potential strains in Gwen and Blake’s marriage.

Gwen Stefani’s Upcoming Performance with No Doubt Raises Questions

The Voice coach recently spoke about No Doubt’s Coachella reunion in an interview with KROQ’s Megan Holiday, sharing insights into the band’s dynamics.

Stefani humorously suggested the band might not rehearse together, instead opting for individual preparation before their collective stage return. She anticipated laughter and reminiscence, given their shared history, including her seven-year relationship with bandmate Tony Kanal until their 1994 split. The Coachella performance will include her, Kanal, guitarist Tom Dumont, and drummer Adrian Young.

As Gwen prepares for her return to No Doubt, her and Blake’s personal ventures have seemingly placed distance between them. Sources claim the couple’s marriage is experiencing frustrations due to their separate busy schedules, emphasizing reliance on texting and phone calls for communication.

Addressing the rumors, Gwen’s hairstylist, Suzette Boozer, spoke to The U.S. Sun, affirming the strength of Gwen and Blake’s relationship and referencing their recent duet, “Purple Irises,” as evidence of their ongoing collaboration.

Despite swirling divorce rumors, the couple has recently released their romantic song, “Purple Irises,” presenting a united front through music.
