Nagarahole National Park – Wildlife Safari

Nagarahole National Park Situated between the Mysuru plateau in Karnataka and the Nilgiri Mountains of Tamil Nadu, Nagarahole is a 640 sq. km. the sanctuary that is home to an abundant variety of wildlife. Rajiv Gandhi National Park is an important Tiger Reserve in Karnataka and is a major hub of conservation under Project Tiger and Project Elephant, the sanctuary is host to the largest herd of Asiatic elephants in the world and innumerable species of birds, flora, and fauna including large predators, reptiles, gaurs, deer, bears, and smaller animals.

Wildlife: Being an important Tiger Reserve in Karnataka, Nagarahole is a must-visit national park for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers as the forest safari offers a very high probability of being able to spot Bengal Tigers and Asiatic Elephants in their natural habitat. Nagąrahole National Park is also home to a large number of Wild Dogs, Leopards, and Bears. Commonly spotted herbivore animals are Wild Gaurs, Wild Boar, Sambar Deer, Antelope, Spotted Deers as well as several species of birds. Nagarahole National Park also has a rich collection of Teak Trees and Rosewood.

Nagarahole Forest Safari : Wildlife Safari is conducted by the Forest Department twice daily, from 6 AM to 8 AM and 3 PM to 5 PM from 2 different locations – Nanchhi Gate (Kutta) and Veeranahosalli Gate. 1. Bandipur National Park

Bandipur National Park is one of the well preserved wildlife parks in Karnataka , and among the top places for a wildlife tour in India. Located between Mysore & Ooty, it is about 80 km from Mysore and 215 km from Bangalore. Spread across 874 sq.km, Bandipur is a part of the famous Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve along with Nagarhole National Park, Mudumalai National Park and Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary. Safaris in Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary

Embark on a Jungle safari in a jeep and venture into the land of sights and sound. Dandeli Wildlife sanctuary has some of the exemplary green patches to spot wild animals like Crocodile, Bison, Tigers, Black Panther, Sloth Bear, Elephant, Leopards, a number of reptiles and birds etc.

The wildlife reserve authorities or professional guides take you on a safari covering a distance of around 30 KM into the deep dense forest. The open jeep can accommodate around 8 people in one trip. The Safaris run in two slots out of which one sets off in the early morning and the second trip runs in the evening.

Safari Timings: Morning trip from 6 AM to 8 AM, Evening trip from 4 PM to 6 PM.

Safari cost: You end up paying somewhere between INR 2500 to 3000 which includes a vehicle, a guide, a driver, permits and entry fee.

How to Book Jeep Safari: The safaris are conducted by Professional wildlife guides and the wildlife reserve authorities at the entry of the park.

The verdant green and olive shades of the forest is caused by a number of creepers, wildflowers, trees, shrubs and plants. Plant species such as Eucalyptus, Tectona grandis, Grevillea robusta, T. bellerica, Adina cordifolia, Mitragyna parviflora, Acacia, Xylia xylocarpa and various types of orchids are found at Dandeli wildlife sanctuary.

Bangalore - Bennarghatta - Bangalore

After breakfast in the morning, we will leave for a day trip to Bennarghatta National Park. Scattered in around25,000 acres of land, the park is one of the richest zoological and natural reserves. It offers a real nature's delight with a Butterfly Park and Zoo Museum that are must watch among visitors. Enjoy an amazing wildlife safari in the park that can help you in exploring wilds in wood. Later, return back to your hotel in Bangalore.

Bangalore - Mysore

Today we will have breakfast in the morning and thereafter, check out from the hotel to drive to Mysore. Located at foothills of Chamundi Hills, Mysore is the second largest city of Karnataka acknowledged for its architectural wonder. On reaching, check in at the already booked hotel and rest for some time. Afterwards, have lunch in the hotel and leave to visit The Mysore Palace, well known as the Amba Vilas Palace. Later, retun back to the hotel for a night stay.

Mysore - Ranganathittu - Mysore

We will have breakfast in the morning and afterwards, drive to Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary for a day trip. The sanctuary offer habitat to about 170 species of both local and migratory birds and is also acknowledged as Paksi Kashi of Karnataka. Have an ultimate bird watching experience in the sanctuary and later return back to the hotel in Mysore for a relaxing overnight stay.

Mysore - Nagarhole

In the morning after breakfast, we will drive to Nagarhole National Park that turned from private hunting ground of the Wodeyar Dynasty of Mysore to wildlife sanctuary in 1955 and national park in 1988 is an ideal place for wildlife lovers. On reaching, check in at the pre-booked jungle lodge for a comfortable overnight stay.

Enjoy delicious breakfast in the jungle lodge and afterwards leave for morning wildlife safari in the Nagarhole national park. The safari is the best way of exploring wilds in woods. You can see many rare found birds and animals in the park. After enjoying morning safari, return back to the lodge for lunch and relax for some time. Thereafter, get ready for evening safari that will add on to your adventure experience. Later, return back to the lodge for dinner followed by an overnight stay.

Nagarhole - Bandipur

After breakfast in the morning, we will drive to Bandipur National park, the former hunting grounds of the Maharaja of Mysore. The park is home to many endangered species of Indian wildlife. On arrival, check in at the already booked lodge. The rest of the day is free at leisure. Enjoy an overnight stay in the lodge.

The day is fixed to explore the Bandipur National park by undertaking a wildlife safari. After breakfast in the morning, we will leave to spot wilds in their nature habitat. Some of the rare found birds and animals species we can spot in the park include muggers, sloth bears, brown fish owls, four-horned antelopes, Indian rock pythons, gray langurs, Indian giant squirrels, crested serpent eagles, etc. Later, we will return back to our lodge for a relaxing overnight stay.

Bandipur - Ooty

Today after having breakfast in the morning, we will check out from the lodge in Bandipur and to Ooty. On reaching, check in at the already booked hotel and have breakfast. Afterwards, get ready to visit tea plantations, Doddabetta Park and Botanical Garden. Later, be back in the hotel for a comfy overnight stay.

The day is free for leisure or your own activities in Ooty. During your free time, you can visit the other left tourist attractions of Ooty such as Lamb's rock, Ooty lake, Kodanadu's View Point, etc. Later in the evening, you can visit the local market. Take pleasure of a stress free overnight stay in the hotel in Ooty.

After breakfast in the morning, we will leave to visit a tribal village occupied by Todas, a pastoral community. Once reaching the village, you can interact with the locals and observe their daily activities. You can also shop for colourful shawls, hand-woven by the locals. You can also visit their Dairy temple, which is made in a cone shape. After exploring the beautiful village, we will return back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Ooty - Departure from Coimbatore

On the last day of our tour, we will have breakfast in the hotel and thereafter, get direct transfer to the Coimbatore airport to board the flight for onward destination.
