Our captains absolutely love their job and making sure everyone has a wonderful dolphin watching experience in Fort Myers Beach. The only requirement for our Fort Myers Beach Dolphin & Wildlife Cruise is a sense of adventure!

Our boat is equipped with a restroom on board, has a full bar and is handicapped accessible.

Best dolphin cruise we have been on- we saw lots of dolphins and interacted with them. Captain Ken and Val were friendly and knowledgeable.

Captain Ken was so knowledgeable and such a fun person. We found lots of dolphins and he gave lots of time to take pictures and watch the dolphins play. Val was so friendly and helped find the dolphins. She is a great bartender. We would definitely do this tour again!!

Last weekend, I took a girls trip to Ft Myers with my mom and daughter. We decided that the dolphin & wildlife adventure cruise might be fun, and I am so glad that we decided to book this. Captain Ken and Val definitely made this a fantastic trip. The best part was some dolphins that were playing in the boat's wake...everyone on the boat was just in awe. So amazing!! It was definitely the highlight of our trip to Ft Myers! We can't wait to go back!

We had a great time on the dolphin cruise. It exceeded our expectations. The dolphins came right up to the boat and we got wonderful photos and video. The staff were kind and attentive. Also, great views of the houses in Fort Myers Beach, with commentary by the captain along the way.

We had a great time on our dolphin cruise! Ken was a great captain, knowledgeable and fun! Val was a fantastic bartender and very personable. We got up close to so many dolphins and watched them jump in the boats wake. So much fun for myself, my parents, and my toddlers loved it!! When we come back to the fort myers area we will definitely be doing this again!!

The Wild Dolphin Cruise launch is located near The Splash Pad on the Outdoor Plaza.  Boarding will begin 10 minutes prior to departure.

Launched February 1, 2006, the 10,000 Islands Dolphin Project is a long-term study of the abundance, distribution, movement, association patterns, and behavior of bottlenose dolphins of Southwest Florida. Located on Marco Island with close proximity to Naples and the Everglades, we offer a one of a kind tour!

The Project is the only on-going study of wild dolphins in SW Florida and the only one in the United States that engages and is supported by the general public.

Using ‘photo-identification,’ our dolphins are recognized by their dorsal fins which act as their ‘fingerprints.’

MAY 2024 Absolutely the best experience for my family and I! We saw above average dolphins yesterday! At 18 dolphins! We saw moms with calf’s, we saw 4 to five teen dolphins playing, we saw a dolphin ride our boats wave, we saw plenty of different animals! And when you stop at the beach you get a complimentary picture printed for you and your family! Absolutely will be coming back when we can! For now we can watch from a far on their social media accounts where they have incredible pictures! The instructors/guides were absolutely amazing and knowledgeable on everything dolphin! Our daughter had a blast and got a dolphin patch at the end! 10/10 must do if you go to Marco island!

April 2024 We had a group of 9 and went in the afternoon. Our hosts were not only funny and entertaining, but we also had a great educational experience. We saw several dozen of local dolphins. Bob, James, and Jen were fantastic! Highly recommended.

April 2024 This tour more than exceeded our expectations from start to finish. Very knowledgeable dolphin scientists on board sharing a wealth of information. Dolphins were treated respectfully, we were there to watch them in their natural habitat and did so without interfering in any way. I appreciated that bc we have been on tours where the anals have been chased and lured with food and I don't like that. Lots of little touches from the company in addition to the multiple dolphin encounters and knowledge shared. Well worth the trip!

April 2024 I've been on the Dolphin Explorer 7 times now and hope to go 27 more times. I love to take visitors on it because they get to see Marco from the water, get out on the beach, and spend 3 hours with a big grin on their faces from seeing so many dolphins! Bob McConville is just GREAT at what he does---and it's clear he loves his dolphins.

Apr 2024 My wife and I went on the Dolphin Explorer Tour and had a wonderful time! It was so educational to listen to Bob and Captain Eddy talk about the dolphins that they have identified and tracked from one generation of dolphins to another! We learned things about dolphins that we have never heard before and left the tour so enlightened! We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn more about dolphins from people who really have a passion and knowledge of dolphins!

Mar. 2024 We took a trip as a family of 6 on the Dolphin Explorer as part of our Florida vacation from the UK, it was a truly incredible experience and one that will be remembered forever. Captain James and Bob were fantastic, very knowledgeable and funny, we saw 22 different dolphins, many at extremely close quarters. Our youngest was given a pack to count dolphins, record birds etc. that she saw on our trip, on completion she was given a team member badge.The boat was spacious and clean, cold bottled water was provided. I thoroughly recommend this trip.

Mar.2024 This was the highlight of our trip to Florida with our three kids (11, 9, and 6). I was worried about the three hour length but this tour is a well oiled machine that has an amazing pace that kept my kids happy and entertained while still managing to provide great content and entertainment for the adults. My kids had a great time checking off the dolphins they spotted and identifying them by name from photos taken and printed out in real time! Very impressive. The 30 minute stop at the beach for shelling was also great. Captains were SUPER knowledgeable and answers all questions. Also really enjoyed seeing the dolphins in a natural environment as opposed to exploiting ones held in captivity. Well worth the money!

Mar. 2024 The Dolphin explorer is unlike any eco tour in Florida!! Spotting the dolphins and getting to know them is so much fun! The respect, love, and admiration the crew has for the local wildlife is remarkable and it shows! Tigertail beach is beautiful and the shells are amazing! This is such a family friendly tour. The boat is very big with lots of shade and cover and a very nice bathroom on board. The kids loved becoming official Dolphin Explorers!! No matter how many times you take the tour it's a different experience every time! The wildlife in Marco Island is incredible and the crew on the Dolphin Explorer are all so knowledgeable and experienced!! You won't regret booking a tour with them!!

One of our most popular tours is the dolphin cruise. We offer private and shared dolphin cruises on either our 26’ powerboat, Jolly’Ventures, or our 42’ powerboat, Jolly Dolphin. Other boats may be available, call to inquire. Pensacola Bay, Santa Rosa Sound, and the Gulf of Mexico are home to many pods of bottlenose dolphins. These wild dolphins are naturally curious and inclined to investigate boats traveling the waters of their home. Though swimming with dolphins in the wild is illegal, viewing them by boat in their natural habitat on a dolphin tour is an amazing encounter. On this trip, you’re likely to see other marine life and shorebirds, including sea turtles, stingrays, ospreys, pelicans, cormorants, and schools of fish.

Certain Pensacola Beach dolphin cruises may include a remote beach stop where you can step right off the boat onto a beautiful private beach and take a stroll, swim, and look for shells.

Group Packages & Private Tours

Group rates are available for schools, church groups, large family reunions and companies.

Cruises are 1½ to 2 hours long. The tour encompasses 3 distinct experiences starting with a narrated cruise up the Intracoastal waterway. Then picking up speed and passing several uninhabited islands as well as the jetty heading out into the ocean. The second part of the tour is heading into the ocean to find and view the dolphins and the third part is picking up speed to view our beautiful coastline.

This is a wet ride so dress accordingly. There is a dry box on board for valuables. We do suggest a bag or case to keep cameras and phones dry so you may take pictures. Sun glasses and sunscreen are also recommended for this tour.

If you want SEATING UNDER THE CANOPY please arrive early because boarding is done by group #.  Group #1 will board first and will include several parties who arrive the earliest.  All passengers must check in and get a boarding pass before boarding. The boat departs promptly at scheduled times so please allow time to park, check-in, etc.

These cruises are not handicap approved by the coastguard.  Tickets are non refundable!

Are The Boats Different?

No, they do the same cruise.  They are both narrated by an experienced crew.  Both boats have a canopy covering about 8 rows of seating. Both hold 141 passengers.

How Long Are The Cruises?

They are 1 ½ – 2 hours long.

Are The Boats At The Same Location?

No, but they are close.  The boats are a couple of blocks away from each other.

Do You Need To Print Anything?

No, when you make a reservation online, your confirmation, instructions & directions will be emailed to you.  Just give your last name when checking-in for your boarding pass.

Are There Bathrooms?

Yes, there are restroom facilities at each location prior to boarding. The restrooms on board are marine toilet facilities and are for emergency use only.

Do You Get Wet?

Yes, it can be a wet ride so dress accordingly. Bathing suits with covers, towels, whatever you are comfortable with.

Do You Cruise In The Rain?

Yes, the cruise operates in light rain.  The Captain may cancel if weather becomes stormy. (Thunder & Lightening)

What Can I Bring?

You may bring food and drink in a  small (6 pack) soft sided cooler.  STROLLERS & CAR SEATS are NOT allowed on board.

Are There Life Jackets?

Yes, under the seats for all passengers. Also CHILDREN’S life jackets are available.

Are The Boats Handicap Accessible?

No, the boats are not handicap accessible.  Wheelchairs & walkers can go as far as the stairs to the boat.  They are not allowed on board for safety reasons.  There are about 4-5 steps (handrails) up to the boat and then a short distance to a seat.  The crew will assist with boarding.  These cruises are not handicap approved by the coastguard.

Out of the Centre

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.  

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.

The Unique Burial of a Child of Early Scythian Time at the Cemetery of Saryg-Bulun (Tuva)

In 1988, the Tuvan Archaeological Expedition (led by M. E. Kilunovskaya and V. A. Semenov) discovered a unique burial of the early Iron Age at Saryg-Bulun in Central Tuva. There are two burial mounds of the Aldy-Bel culture dated by 7th century BC. Within the barrows, which adjoined one another, forming a figure-of-eight, there were discovered 7 burials, from which a representative collection of artifacts was recovered. Burial 5 was the most unique, it was found in a coffin made of a larch trunk, with a tightly closed lid. Due to the preservative properties of larch and lack of air access, the coffin contained a well-preserved mummy of a child with an accompanying set of grave goods. The interred individual retained the skin on his face and had a leather headdress painted with red pigment and a coat, sewn from jerboa fur. The coat was belted with a leather belt with bronze ornaments and buckles. Besides that, a leather quiver with arrows with the shafts decorated with painted ornaments, fully preserved battle pick and a bow were buried in the coffin. Unexpectedly, the full-genomic analysis, showed that the individual was female. This fact opens a new aspect in the study of the social history of the Scythian society and perhaps brings us back to the myth of the Amazons, discussed by Herodotus. Of course, this discovery is unique in its preservation for the Scythian culture of Tuva and requires careful study and conservation.
