Local Hive Honey – Greeley

When it comes to raw and unfiltered honey, Local Hive Honey has relentlessly provided authentic and high quality honey throughout the United States. They work with local beekeepers to provide several varieties of local, raw & unfiltered honey.

Formally called Rice’s Honey and now Local Hive Honey, it is still a family operated company located in Greeley, Colorado. Their business began in 1924 when the family worked in bee yards, extracted honey, put them in bottles, labelled them and sold them door to door.

L.R. Rice’s Honey use pure honey that is collected from honeycombs in bee farms. Beekeepers collect the honeycombs to extract and spin them using a machine. Then, they are prepared and bottled in their facility in Greeley.

Can honey make the world a better place? Prior to traveling on the Big Island, my answer to that question was most definitely “Huh? ” most likely followed by “No.” However, after meeting Richard of the Volcano Island Honey Company and spending hours with him, my answer is now an enthusiastic “Yes!” Richard wears a wide-brimmed floppy hat and has a gray beard and a welcoming smile. He describes himself as a retired hippie. He started as a lawyer participating in the Civil Rights movement, and ended up in a VW van traveling across the U.S. to live an “alternative” lifestyle. He wanted to show people that there’s another way to do it—"it” meaning life in general. Richard tells me all about organic honey production at the farm. What makes this smooth, silky, mixture so unique is the way the bees are handled, and the way in which the honey is produced. The first key is this: The honey is produced from pollen that comes from the nectar of only one plant, the Kiawe flower. In the same vein in which Richard struck out of the corporate world to show people another way, he revolutionized organic honey production. Richard is making the world a better place and teaching people to accept and embrace different ways to produce honey. He calls it his Bee-green initiative. EXCLUSIVE: Following the success of her most recent Sony pic Anyone But You, the studio isn’t wasting any time staying in the Sydney Sweeney business as sources tell Deadline Jane Goldman and Honey Ross are in negotiations to pen a new Barbarella pic starring Sweeney with Edgar Wright in talks to direct. The film is still in development given Sweeney’s busy schedule and Wright deep in prep on his The Running Man reboot with Glen Powell starring, so the project will not be next up for either of them.

Wright has been eyeing the project for some time, taking a meeting with Sweeney right after it was first announced but only committed to develop the project as something he would potentially direct. This latest development with Barbarella comes after Sweeney and Glen Powell’s romcom Anyone But You overperformed in a big way at the box-office. The film brought in $210 million at worldwide box-office on a $30 million budget and

Recall_Supplier Recalls Impact Two Hy-Vee Products Third-Party Manufacturers Alert Retailer of Potential for Contamination; No Illnesses Reported

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (May 6, 2024) — Hy-Vee, Inc., based in West Des Moines, Iowa, is voluntarily recalling two varieties of its Hy-Vee Cream Cheese Spread out of an abundance of caution due to the potential for contamination with Salmonella . Additionally, Hy-Vee is voluntarily recalling its bulk-packaged Cookies & Cream Mix out of an abundance of caution due to the potential for contamination with Salmonella .

These products are manufactured at different third-party facilities around the Midwest and are sold under HyVee’s private label and bulk packaging programs. The manufacturers of these products notified Hy-Vee of the potential issue and out of an abundance of caution Hy-Vee is voluntarily recalling these specific products. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of any of these products.

The affected products were distributed to Hy-Vee, Hy-Vee Drugstore and Dollar Fresh Market locations – as well as Hy-Vee Fast and Fresh convenience stores – across the company’s eight-state region of Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin. The recalled products are labeled as outlined below.

No other varieties of Hy-Vee Cream Cheese or bulk-packaged items are affected by this voluntary recall.

No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.

Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.

Hy-Vee has voluntarily removed all affected items listed above from its shelves. Customers who purchased the product should dispose of the product or return it to their local Hy-Vee store for a full refund. Customers with questions may contact Hy-Vee Customer Care representatives at (800) 772-4098 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

With that contemptuous locution, which one might translate very roughly as, “Well, De Jean, one gets laid,” with perhaps the added thought that having made one’s bed, one must lie in it, Charles De Gaulle dismissed his old friend Maurice Dejean from diplomatic service to the Fifth Republic.

It was 1964, six years after the KGB had staged one of its long-running and most elaborate honey traps in Moscow against a Western diplomat. The operation involved over 100 officers and agents of the KGB including, incognito , the head of the Second Chief Directorate, the branch responsible for domestic surveillance and the monitoring or recruitment of foreigners inside the Soviet Union.
