Background [ ]

The tour was announced on December 1, 2014 , with seventeen confirmed dates across North America. It was also revealed that Del Rey would be touring with Courtney Love [1] as well as other musical guest acts. Pre-sale began on December 3, 2014 , and general sale began on December 6, 2014 . On April 1, 2015 , Del Rey announced that Grimes [2] would be touring with her for the second half of the announced dates, along with two more dates, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on June 6 , and in Mansfield, Massachusetts, on June 9 . Earlier in 2015, Del Rey announced another two festival dates which would be in George, Washington, at the Sasquatch! Music Festival on May 24 , [3] and in New York City, New York, at the Governors Ball Music Festival on June 7 . [4]

The tour grossed approximately six million dollars from less than 20 headlining concerts and placed at number 156 on Pollstar 's "2015 Year-End Top 200 North American Tours". [5]

Specifics and visuals [ ]

The full sound system was provided by L-Acoustics, a French sound manufacturing company. Del Rey's Endless Summer Tour audio crew used a K1 main loudspeaker system, and with K2 outfill arrays flown as needed in wider venues. [6]

Set design was handled by Block9, a duo comprised of Gideon Berger and Stephen Gallagher who are based in East London. They had previously worked with Del Rey on the set design of her 2013 Paradise Tour . For the Endless Summer Tour stage they took inspiration from Fritz Lang's 1927 film Metropolis . Block9 created a stage set comprising a 'graphic-novel-noir' cityscape lit by vintage theatre lights. Designed to integrate seamlessly with show lighting and video, the cityscape also housed a state of the art LED matrix. Everything was built in London and shipped to the United States. [7]

The stage set-up featured large illuminated cityscape props on each side of the stage as well as smoke machines. Hollywood-style theatre lights and a light up signature "Del Rey" sign were also significant props. The back wall of the stage served as a display area for backdrop visuals, which were mostly modified clips from Del Rey's music videos that changed as different songs were being performed.

Setlist [ ]

The setlist varied from date to date, but in total is composed of 21 songs: 7 from Ultraviolence , 5 from Born to Die , 2 from Paradise , 1 from Honeymoon , 2 covers , 3 unreleased songs, and 1 other song that was used as an intro at each show. [8]

  • " Sleep Walk " (Intro)
  • " Cruel World "
  • " Blue Jeans "
  • " West Coast "
  • " Honeymoon " *
  • " Us Against the World " *
  • " Born to Die "
  • " Ultraviolence "
  • " Summertime Sadness "
  • " Chelsea Hotel No. 2 "
  • " Brooklyn Baby " *

  • " Old Money " *
  • " Serial Killer " *
  • " Video Games "
  • " Florida Kilos " *
  • " Why Don't You Do Right? " *

Songs marked with an asterix (*) were not performed on every date. " You Can Be the Boss " was only played on the first date of the tour, and " Old Money " was sung in its place on the June 14 date. " Ride " was performed on the June 6 , June 13 , June 14 and June 16 dates in place of " Brooklyn Baby ". " Why Don't You Do Right? " and " Us Against the World " were not performed at every show, instead being featured on select dates only. On the final date of the tour, June 16 , Del Rey debuted a performance of " Florida Kilos " in place of " Why Don't You Do Right? " before " Off to the Races ". At the same show, Del Rey previewed an a cappella snippet of " Honeymoon " [9] from her third major-label record,  Honeymoon , for the first time.

Beach Boys Announce ‘Endless Summer Gold’ 2024 Tour

The Beach Boys  have announced a 2024 tour that will keep them on the road for much of the year. The Endless Summer Gold tour starts on Feb. 21 with dates in Honolulu and wraps up on Sept. 23 in Nashville.

The U.S. tour will include a few stops at summer music festivals, including the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Stagecoach in Indio, California.

Below is a complete list of the tour dates, including a late-October run on the Malt Shop Memories Cruise.

READ MORE: How the Beach Boys Created a Masterpiece With 'Pet Sounds'

Former Traffic and Fleetwood Mac member Dave Mason will join the Endless Summer Gold tour for a handful of states starting in late May. Tickets for the first two months of shows are on sale now; other tickets go on sale on Feb. 16. You can find more information on ticket purchases at the band's website .

Where Are the Beach Boys Touring in 2024?

The Beach Boys' 2024 tour goes to Florida after its Hawaii debut and then heads throughout the country, with stops in Myrtle Beach, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Denver and dozens more cities.

The band is led these days by co-founder  Mike Love and includes longtime member Bruce Johnston. Co-founder Brian Wilson was last on the road in 2022 as a solo act with a touring group that included former Beach Boys Al Jardine and Blondie Chapman.

Wilson's wife, Melinda, died last week . She helped revive the singer and songwriter's career after they met in the mid-'80s. Wilson's well-documented struggles over the years left him performing and recording only sporadically with the Beach Boys since the '70s. After marrying Melinda in 1995, she became his manager and helped him stage a comeback that included tours and albums as both a solo artist and as a member of the Beach Boys.

A limited edition book, The Beach Boys by the Beach Boys , will be published on April 2. The book will chronicle the group's career from its launch in 1961 and include remembrances from band members as well as famous fans like Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton .

REVIEW: Al Jardine, Family & Friends

Al Jardine Family_Friends band pic2

By Scott Paton

Bethesda Blues & Jazz – Bethesda, MD

March 2, 2022

On a winter night, just outside the nation’s capital, an early hint of spring gave way to the full bloom of summer as Beach Boys co-founder, Al Jardine, brought his Family & Friends tour to the DC-Maryland suburbs.

Since 2006, Jardine has been a vital component of Brian Wilson’s touring ensemble, as well as Wilson’s recorded output. Of course, 2012 saw the celebrated, 50 th Anniversary reunion tour of the five surviving Beach Boys. But in between the big extravaganzas, Al has hit the club circuit in a variety of different configurations, often featuring former members of The Beach Boys’ veteran back-up musicians, and always with his son, Matt Jardine, who so splendidly handles Brian Wilson’s original falsetto vocal parts in Brian’s touring band.

Perhaps most satisfying was Al Jardine’s Storytelling Tour, launched in 2017 and appearing periodically up until the pandemic brought live music to a screeching halt in 2020. Accompanied by Matt and a musical director on keyboards, those performances revealed Jardine to be a superb raconteur, regaling enthusiastic audiences with stories behind Beach Boys’ classics while vintage images were projected behind him onscreen. And surprisingly, the lean complement of voices on stage was able to do justice to Brian Wilson’s original, complex vocal arrangements.

But Wednesday night’s performance was a throwback to Al Jardine’s first stab at post-Beach Boys performance when, in 1999, a year after the untimely death of Carl Wilson, the band splintered. With Matt in tow, along with son Adam Jardine, Al recruited Brian’s daughters, Carnie and Wendy Wilson, complemented by some of those aforementioned touring vets of the old Beach Boys band. The troupe began playing dates to great reviews, even releasing a fine live album in the process.

Cut to 2022.  After two years of scuttled live performances and itching to play again, Al decided to put the band back together. Now absent the “Beach Boys” moniker, this latest iteration of Family & Friends includes son Matt, of course. Carnie and Wendy Wilson are back, too. And the lean, mean four-piece backup band includes Ed Carter on bass who first assumed those duties with the Beach Boys in 1968.  Ed was a sideman who certainly could have qualified for full membership. A 1974 recruit and, as Dennis Wilson told me in 1978, “the best drummer ever to play onstage with The Beach Boys,” is Bobby Figueroa.  For the unfamiliar, those words were coming from the band’s original drummer. Playing guitar is utility man and multi-instrumentalist of Brian Wilson’s group, Probyn Gregory. And on keys, Debbie Shair, a veteran of Heart’s touring band, now working with Brian’s outfit, too.

Al Jardine, a long-underrated rhythm guitar player, fleshes out the band that effectively re-creates the sound of the original records. A full orchestra is not required!

The Family & Friends’ 24-song set hewed closely to a standard Beach Boys setlist, opening with “Do It Again,” “Catch A Wave” and “Hawaii,” followed by, as Jardine described it, ‘Brian Wilson’s opus,’ “California Girls.”

The vocal spotlight was turned over to Carnie Wilson and Matt Jardine who split the duties on “Darlin’.”  After a segue to “Surfer Girl,” “Matt brought down the house — as he does during Brian’s shows — with his falsetto lead on “Don’t Worry Baby.”

Al’s chatter on stage, even when recovering from a flub, was clever and humorous, eliciting much laughter from the audience. Recollections between the four principal singers were a great reminder that the three-second generations have known each other and “Dad”/”Uncle Al” for their entire lives. Few ensembles can boast such family history or shared affection.

After a car medley of “Little Deuce Coupe” and “I Get Around,” Matt, Wendy, and Carnie sang the opening vocal round of “In My Room,” and I was reminded of a quote from the late Dennis Wilson in 1976.  “The Beach Boys will go on forever.  Someday, our kids will take over and it will just keep on going.”  I choked up a bit thinking about how prescient that sentiment was so long ago.

The two deep cuts featured in the night’s set were “Wake The World” from the Beach Boys 1968 Friends LP and “Add Some Music (To Your Day)” from one of the band’s most lauded albums, Sunflower .  Of the former, Al Jardine recalled that he and Brian wrote it in the Wilson living room. “It was inspired by a conversation about people having to get up every day and go to work. Something, thankfully, we never had to do!”  Again, a quip that generated much laughter.

The spotlight was then focused on the Wilson sisters, with Wendy handling lead on her Wilson Phillips hit, “Impulsive.”  “Monday With You” followed, the Carole King tune they cut with their dad, Brian, in 1997.  With a nod to her late Uncle Carl who had sung lead on the Beach Boys original, Carnie delivered a lovely interpretation of “God Only Knows.”  And Wendy, in what was perhaps the most surprising song casting of the evening, tackled “Sail On Sailor.”

The Jardines, father and son, rounded out the main set with Beach Boys staples “Sloop John B.,” “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” Help Me, Rhonda” and “Good Vibrations.” Extra kudos go to the four-piece band whose combined 100-plus years of playing these complex arrangements delivered a soulful and accurate authenticity that would challenge most musicians. As someone who began catching the Beach Boys live nearly 50 years ago seeing Ed Carter and Bobby Figueroa onstage with Al again added some fond emotional resonance to the proceedings.

A genuine standing ovation brought the troupe, minus the Wilson sisters, back to the stage and Al shared some family history of how his father had migrated from upstate New York to California in the 1940s seeking work, leaving the family behind ‘til he was established. That experience became the inspiration for the title cut of his 2010 LP Postcard From California . As it was a generational story, Al’s handing off a verse of the song to son Matt was a nice touch.

Carnie & Wendy returned to the stage and, in the absence of Chynna Phillips, Wendy took the lead on Wilson Phillips’ Number One hit, “Hold On,” with Matt Jardine deftly handling the high harmonies.

The encore concluded with “Surfin’ USA” and “Fun, Fun Fun,” and the group took their bows before an appreciative crowd.

In an interview in 1981, while discussing the roles that various members of the Beach Boys played, Carl Wilson told me, “You know, in some ways, Alan Jardine has been under-utilized in the group. He’s such a great singer. But then again, his voice is so important in our vocal mix, he’s key to the Beach Boys’ sound.” Forty years on, that voice remains strong, and now it’s out in front of a very satisfying ensemble.

Thanks to the lovely Mary Ann Jardine, Bobby Figueroa, Matt Jardine, Carnie Wilson, and Mr. Alan Jardine!

Two dates remain on this limited four-show tour.

Taylor Swift fans say 'her best song yet' as star changes setlist ahead of UK Eras tour 2024

T aylor Swift fans have declared which is the star's 'best song yet' and say 'nothing else can touch this'. As excitement builds for the UK leg of the Eras Tour , Swifties have been desperate to find out which of Taylor's new songs from new Tortured Poets Department will make the setlist.

Taylor Swift started her European leg of the Eras Tour in Paris last week, meaning she's one step closer to coming to the UK. The tour kicked off with some performance and setlist changes, as she added songs from her newest album. To make room for songs from TTPD Taylor has also cut several songs and restructured her show.

Though she is known for changing her setlist often and surprising fans with extra songs, we've got a list of the songs she performed in Paris on Thursday, May 9. It included The Archer, Tis The Damn Season, Tolerate It and Long Live being dropped from the show.

While So High School, Down Bad, Fortnight and But Daddy, I Love Him being added. However, fans on the Taylor Swift subreddit of Reddit have declared her 'best song yet' is actually Who's Afraid Of Little Old Me, from her new album.

Superfan, Chris00656, said: "You know what? THIS is Taylor's best song yet. Nothing else can touch this one. I'm just gonna go ahead and call it for us right here and right now, so that there's no further confusion. Some of us still might be trying to solve this puzzle, but I already have the answer.

Nothing written and recorded before "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me"? in Taylor's entire discography can stand up against it in a battle. It's simply too introspective and retrospective when it comes to the media's overbearing and endless fascination with her and her own paranoia as an obvious direct result.

"You don't get to tell me about sad." She truly unlocked a new level of songwriting with this special gem."

Fellow Swifties agreed saying: "I completely agree, for me it’s a combination of certain sections of the lyrics that just blow me away, plus the way the refrain just scratches my sonic itch so well!"

But some were fast to disagree, saying: ""I'm a nightmare dressed like a daydream" alone is better than WAOLM. Blank Space is still, for me, her ultimate commentary on fame. It's so meta. It's so good. And it's fun pop, all wrapped up in one song."

And a second fan said: "It’s a bop but not even in her top 50 songs."

There are still tickets up for grabs for Taylor Swift's UK tour - she is appearing in Manchester, London, Liverpool, Edinburgh and Cardiff. Take a look at ticket resale website viagogo and search by location.

There are also tickets via Vivid Seats . Unfortunately tickets on official selling site Ticketmaster sold out quickly, so these are mostly gone - although it's sometimes a good idea to check for any resales.

Sites such as Viagogo and Vivid Seats allow fans to buy resale tickets from other fans. However, it is important to note that many event promoters say tickets should not be resold after initial purchase and will not be valid for admittance to gigs.

Fans attending live events with tickets acquired through resale websites are advised to double check the ticket terms and conditions at the point of sale - such as Ticketmaster or Live Nation - to ensure a smooth live event experience. Tickets could be voided if they were found to be bought second-hand. As a result, fans are buying at their own risk.

With that said, viagogo also commented: "viagogo is a regulated marketplace where fans have the guarantee."

I Went to Opening Weekend of the Eras Tour — Here's What to Wear to Taylor Swift's Concert

Pick your era and run with it

The Tortured Poets Department

Folklore and evermore.

On March 18, I buzzed with excitement in a crowd of nearly 70,000 fans eagerly counting down the seconds (literally — a giant clock ticked on screen) until Taylor Swift walked onstage for her second show of the wildly-anticipated Eras Tour . Three hours and 13 minutes later, I was basking in the blissful aftermath of an epic 44-song setlist from the music icon.

But before that, I thought long and hard about what to wear to a Taylor Swift concert I'd been daydreaming about for years. With four new albums and two re-recordings released since her last tour, the options were endless. Should I dress for her latest era, the glimmering, moody Midnights , wander back into the whimsical woods in honor of Folklore and Evermore , embrace the bubblegum pink wonderland of Lover , or pay tribute to Red (Taylor's Version) in loafers and, well, red?

The countless Taylor Swift concert outfit ideas might seem overwhelming, but after attending the first stop on the Eras Tour, I can tell you this: You'll see a little bit of everything (and a lot of sparkles.) Some Swifties threw it back to Fearless in cowboy boots , others wore heart-covered tulle dresses, and one dedicated fan even covered herself head-to-toe in ivy in honor of the Evermore track.

Below, channel whichever era you feel most passionate about with these 148 Taylor Swift concert outfit ideas. Pick your poison, era-style. And don't forget to nab a stadium-approved clear bag for as little as $13.

When Swift first announced the impending release of her eleventh studio album,  The Tortured Poets Department  during the 2024 Grammy Awards, fans weren’t sure what to expect. But in true Swiftie fashion, it didn’t take long for the masses to become well acquainted with the album’s sultry black-and-white aesthetic, numerous Easter eggs, and  chart-topping 31-song tracklist  in the weeks following its April 19 release.

And on her first tour stop following the drop, Swift did indeed  add an entirely new section for her  TTPD  era , including songs “So High School,” “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived,” and “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” To dress like a devoted member of the department, sport a romantic white blouse, silky black opera gloves, or ruffled gown courtesy of the “Fortnight” music video.

Swift's second-latest album, Midnights, evokes a '70s haze, if you will, with purple eyeshadow, tousled hair, and shag coats. For the final portion of her Eras Tour setlist, the "Anti-Hero" singer wore two outfits: a sparkly T-shirt dress topped with a lavender fur jacket that was dripping in crystals and a bejeweled dark purple fringe leotard, both worn with knee-high Christian Louboutin rhinestone boots.

While you might not go that extra (or designer), the color palette is an easy place to start. I opted for these lavender metallic wide-leg trousers and this sparkly ruched cowl neck tank top , both under $25 at Cider. Slip into the lavender haze with purple pants, disco-ball-esque tops, and furry jackets like this one that starts at $36 at Amazon, and stock up on friendship bracelets (à la "You're on Your Own, Kid") with a custom bracelet-making kit . You could also recreate Swift's glamorous birthday look that she wore in New York City with a sparkly little black dress .

Folklore and Evermore , released just four months apart in 2020, took us deep into the trees where moss grew on pianos and braided buns were a must. While Swift sang songs like "Marjorie" and "Champagne Problems" during the Eras Tour, she donned a dreamy mustard maxi dress with a tiered skirt, ruffled shoulders, and gold accents. For slow burns like "Cardigan," the 12-time Grammy winner laid on the roof of a cabin and twirled around in a billowy cream maxi .

To embrace the cottagecore vibes of Folklore and Evermore at the concert, simply wear the flowiest, breeziest dress that makes you want to spin in circles to "August," like this Evermore era lookalike that's under $85 and this breezy linen dress .

With pop anthems like "Cruel Summer" and the album's titular swoony ballad, Lover is the Taylor Swift album fans have been waiting to hear live since 2019. This lovestruck era was all about pink, pastel tie-dye, and fringe jackets. During the second night of the Eras Tour, Swift made a splash in her opening outfit, a custom Atelier Versace bodysuit covered in blue and gold rhinestones and silver knee-high boots by Christian Louboutin. She coyly layered a matching rhinestone Versace blazer on top for her cheeky performance of "The Man."

If Lover is your era of choice, anything pink and pastel will do. Try this open-back mini dress or this striped button-down shirt on for size. Or, copy Swift's stadium style with a blazer dress that makes you feel like the man.

Before there was the starry-eyed Taylor seeing life through rose-colored glasses, we had the all-black-clad, hooded, narrow-eyed snake, aka Reputation -era Taylor . Swift only wore one outfit to represent this edgy era during her concert, and it spoke for itself. The showstopping one-legged Roberto Cavalli catsuit featured red snakes slithering down her body and black sequins that resembled scales.

You can't go wrong wearing black to represent the Reputation era, and throw some snakeskin prints in for an extra oomph.

With 1989 , Taylor ditched her country roots and dove headfirst into pop music — and her "red-lipped, classic" style reflected that shift. Two-piece sets were Swift's jam during her New York City '80s synth-pop era, and she brought them back with a Kelly green beaded skirt and crop top when she performed fan-favorites like "Blank Space" and "Wildest Dreams" on the second night of the Eras Tour.

If 1989 is your crown jewel in Swift's discography, wear a two-piece set in any color, throw on a sequin bomber jacket à la the 1989 World Tour, or recreate one of the looks from the "Shake It Off" music video like the person next to me in Glendale, Arizona did. The full ballerina tutu was seriously impressive.

Back in 2012, the Taylor Swift who brought us classics like "I Knew You Were Trouble" and "22" loved oxfords, stripes, hats, and all things red. This might be the easiest era to recreate. Simply wear black shorts, leather loafers, a black fedora, or opt for a fun graphic T-shirt like this $14 one that reads “loving him was red,” which is a subtle nod to Swift’s football player beau, Travis Kelce. It might be trickier to find the floor-length red sequin coat she layered on top for her 10-minute performance of "All Too Well."

Swift only sang one song from her 2010 album Speak Now at the Eras Tour, but it left me wonderstruck nonetheless. Taylor looked like a real-life princess in a Zuhair Murad ball gown fitting for a castle while she sang "Enchanted." Your row neighbors probably wouldn't love having a giant skirt like that bumping into them throughout the show, so something simpler might be a good idea.

Swift's Speak Now era involved a lot of romantic purple sundresses, side braids, and the number 13 painted on the back of her hand. Channel this innocent time with fairytale-like dresses you'll actually wear all summer long.

Back on her first headlining tour, curly-haired, head-banging Taylor wore countless sequin fringe mini dresses — and she wore two similar but elevated versions 13 years later for the Eras Tour. As she strummed her bedazzled guitar and sang hits like "You Belong With Me" and "Love Story," Swift wore a Roberto Cavalli dress that featured an ombre gold and silver sequin fringe. This $80 dress is super similar.

If you're looking for comfy footwear to dance the night away during this three-hour show, consider cowboy boots. Not only are they classic teenage Taylor, but they've been making a comeback in recent years with celebrities like Kendall Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski , too. Add this pointed-toe pair to your shoe rack and wear it way more places than just the Eras tour.
