Rescheduling or cancelling your interview

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please email [email protected] . There may be a significant wait before the next available appointment, so please attempt to attend the date already assigned.

  • For some family-based and employment preference visa categories, a visa became available within the month you have been scheduled by NVC.
  • DV applicants should be aware that visas are numerically limited and must be issued by September 30 of the program year. There is no guarantee that a visa will still be available on the date of your rescheduled interview. Please carefully consult the Visa Bulletin before you request to reschedule your interview.

Please note: You need to register your original NVC/KCC appointment online before you can reschedule it. Rescheduling is only possible on a date after your assigned appointment.

Security screening procedures

All visitors to the U.S. Consulate in Mumbai must follow certain security procedures. To avoid delaying your entry and that of those in line behind you, please bring only what is required for your interview in an unsealed plastic bag or folder. Mobile phones and most purses/bags are not permitted. We do not provide a facility for storage of any other items.

Accompanying persons

Attorneys are not permitted to accompany clients into the waiting room or to their interview. The following persons may accompany a visa applicant to their interview:

Immigrant visa fees

If you have not paid all required fees to either the National Visa Center or via the appointment website, please be prepared to pay these fees on the day of your interview.

Fees may be paid by submitting a rupee bank draft drawn on a national or foreign bank. The bank draft must be issued in the name of “U.S. Consulate General Mumbai” and be payable in Mumbai. Please note that if you are found ineligible to receive a visa, the application fee cannot be refunded. A complete list of fees can be found via  travel.state.gov .

Receiving your passport:

  • If you choose to receive your passport through Premium Delivery, you will receive an SMS and email when your passport is dispatched.
  • If you choose to retrieve your passport from a pick-up location, you will receive an SMS and email when your passport is ready to be collected. You must bring an original government-issued photo ID and a photocopy of the ID to collect your visa at the pick-up location you selected online at ustraveldocs.com  (see Step 1 ).

After Your Visa Interview

A consular officer can make a decision on a visa application only after reviewing the formal application and interviewing the applicant. There is no guarantee that you will receive a visa. Do not sell your house, car or property, resign from your job or make non-refundable flight or other travel arrangements until you have received your immigrant visa.

If more information is needed

Sometimes a consular officer is unable to make a decision on a visa application because they need to review additional documents or the case requires further administrative processing. When additional documents are requested, the consular officer will give you a refusal letter that asks you to submit additional documents or take certain actions. The letter will include instructions on how to send those documents to the consulate.

Administrative processing takes additional time after the interview. Most administrative processing is resolved within 60 days. However, the timing varies based on the circumstances of each case. Before inquiring about the status of administrative processing, please wait at least 60 days after your interview.

What happens after visa approval

Passport, Visa, and Sealed Immigrant Packet – We will print your immigrant visa on a page in your passport. Please review your visa to make sure there are no spelling errors.

  • In some cases, we will also give you a sealed envelope containing documents that you must give to U.S. immigration authorities when you arrive in the United States for the first time. Do not open this envelope. You must carry it with you; do not put it in your checked luggage. If you receive X-rays during your medical examination, carry those with you and give them to the U.S. immigration authorities.

USCIS Immigrant Fee – All individuals who are issued immigrant visas overseas must pay an Immigrant Fee to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) prior to traveling to the United States. This fee is for processing your residency status and printing your Permanent Resident Card. The only people exempt from paying this fee are: children entering the United States under the Hague Process, returning residents, and people traveling on a K visa.

When You Should Travel – You must enter the United States before the expiration date on your visa, which is usually six months from the date of printing. Your visa cannot be extended and all fees are nonrefundable. The principal applicant must enter before or at the same time as other family members with visas. Unless they are eligible for benefits under the Child Status Protection Act, children who are issued a visa before turning 21 years of age must enter the United States before their 21st birthday to avoid losing their immigrant status.

Getting a Green Card – Your Form I-551 Permanent Resident Card, also known as a green card, will be automatically mailed to the address in the United States that you write in your visa application form. This is a very important document that proves you have permission to reside in the United States. If you plan to travel outside the U.S. before your green card arrives: Please consult USCIS’s and CBP’s websites for rules about what documents you need to re-enter the country. We also recommend you check with the airline to ensure you are in compliance with their rules. Once your card is issued, you should not stay outside of the United States for more than one year. If you do, you will lose your status as a Lawful Permanent Resident.

Children’s Issues – In the United States, children are required to have certain vaccinations before they can enroll in school. We recommend that you bring your child’s complete vaccination records with you to the United States. If your child is adopted, you have full custody because of a divorce, or you share custody with another parent, you should bring a copy of all applicable adoption or custody papers from the authoritative court in your home country. You will need these papers (translated into English) for issues such as school enrollment, medical care, and eventual citizenship.

Information for New Immigrants – Please visit the USCIS web page for helpful information on moving to the United States. You can read their publication “Welcome to the United States: A Guide for New Immigrants” online.

Diversity Visa Applicants - Additional Information

If you are interviewing for a Diversity Visa (DV), all the above instructions apply to you. Please schedule and attend a medical examination prior to your visa interview; enroll in the required courier service; and gather the required documents.

Below are additional instructions that apply only to DV applicants.

Bring to your interview

In addition to the documents listed on the Pre-Interview Checklist in this package, DV applicants should also bring the following items to your visa interview:

  • Appointment information printed from the “Entrant Status Check” on the E-DV website.
  • Documents showing that you have either a qualifying high school education OR two (2) years of qualifying work experience in the five (5) years immediately prior to application (for the principal applicant only; more information is available via  travel.state.gov ).
  • Payment in cash of the $330 Diversity Visa Application Fee for each visa applicant.

Review your DV Lottery entry

Prior to your visa interview, we recommend that you review the data on your initial E-DV entry. On your initial E-DV application, you must have correctly entered your marital status. If you are legally married you must have listed your spouse, even if you are currently separated from him/her (unless your spouse is a U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident).

Additionally, you must have listed ALL of your living children who are unmarried and under 21 years old. This includes your natural children, your spouse’s children, or children you have formally adopted in accordance with the laws of your country.

Failure to have listed an existing spouse or children at the time of your entry in the Diversity Visa lottery will result in the denial of your visa and visas for your family. Any fees paid to the U.S. government in support of your visa application(s) are nonrefundable. If you failed to include a child who had already been born, or a spouse to whom you were married when you entered the lottery, you should not proceed with the visa application. You can review the eligibility requirements online .

Guide to Create US Visa Appointment Account Online – India

Create New Account at USVisaScheduling.com

The US Department of State Bureau of Consular Affairs changed India’s visa appointment booking system on July 29th, 2023, from the ustraveldocs.com portal to a new website, usvisascheduling.com . If you want to apply for a US Visa appointment in India or already have an account in the old system, you must now use the new website at usvisascheduling.com going forward. You cannot use the old USTravelDocs portal anymore.

There is a lot of confusion among many on how the new system works and how to create an account. In this article, we give you a step-by-step guide with screenshots on how to sign up for an account and what to expect, what questions they ask during the sign-up process, how to migrate your account from the old to the new system, common issues, and FAQs around the same. We continue to update this page as we have updates with the system or process.

Background: Change in Appointment Booking System for India

On July 29th, 2023, the US Embassy updated that they are changing the appointment booking system from www.portal.ustraveldocs.com to www.usvisascheduling.com . This is a big change as the old system will not work anymore.

All users who have booked appointments using the old system have to use the new appointment booking system and migrate their accounts to the new system. If you are a new user planning to apply for a US visa appointment, you must register for a new account at the new website.

We will look at two scenarios in the below sections:

  • New Users without any account in the old USTravelDocs System : Signup process for a first-time user who never had an account in the old system and is directly using the new system at usvisascheduling.com to book a US Visa appointment.
  • Existing Users in USTravelDocs System , moving to USVisaScheduling.com : Signup process for existing users who are migrating their accounts from portal.ustraveldocs.com to usvisascheduling.com and want to book an appointment or use their existing appointment.

Depending on your situation, you may go to the relevant section below.

Guide to New User s without any account in USTravelDocs System

The process to create an account in the new US Visa Appointment booking system is very straight forward. Below is the step-by-step guide for the same.

This new redirection and login at atlasauth.b2clogin.com is the new authentication system that they are using, which is from Microsoft. The b2clogin.com is from Microsoft, and not to worry. It looks like in the below screenshot.

Redirection from USVisaScheduling.com to b2clogin.com

Step 2 – Sign up for a New Account

For example, let’s say you are using email “[email protected]”, you can just use a username from the email like “abc.xyz”.
  • Password : You need to enter a password of your choice in the password fields that meets standards set by the system and then you need to re-enter the same
  • Email Address Validation : You need to enter your personal or work email that you plan to use for account creation, and appointment booking and click on the “Send Verification Code” button. See the below screenshot on how it looks.

Username in new USVisaScheduling System - Validate Email screenshot

  • You will get an email from the sender that says “ Microsoft on behalf of US Visa Processing “. It will be from a Microsoftonline.com domain, do not be confused, it is the right sender and the right email. The email will have a code code. You will need to take this code and enter it in the USVisaScheduling.com website where you see an option to enter the code. It looks like in the below screenshot.

Email from USVisaScheduling with Verification Code - US Visa Processing account

Guide to Existing Users moving from USTravelDocs.com to USVisaScheduling.com

Even though you had an account in the past at portal.ustraveldocs.com, you must sign-up for a new account at the new website USVisaScheduling.com. They have made this mandatory requirement as there are new ways to authenticate your account and new security questions are added for the same.

The steps to migrate your account from the old USTravelDocs Portal are pretty much the same as the steps to signup for a new account. You can refer to the above section of creating a new account. Below are the main differences in each of the steps.

You need to navigate to the new website at https://www.usvisascheduling.com/en-US/ . This is same as for a new user. Check the Step 1 of the above section of creating an account as a new user for more details on the screenshot and how it works.

Step 2 – Sign up for a New Account to migrate from old system.

Same as Step 2 of the above section of creation of new account.

Step 3 – Use your Existing email id from USTravelDocs.com for new account

This is also the same as if you are creating a new account, but the main difference is you need to use the same email address that you used in the previous portal.ustraveldocs.com for your account to migrate from the old system to new system. You may create the user id based on your email itself by removing the text after “@” system in your email.

  • Email Address Validation : You need to enter the same email that you used in the old USTravelDocs.com system and click on “Send Verification Code” button. See the below screenshot on how it looks.

Common FAQs

Yes, it is the official website and it is legit. www.USVisaScheduling.com is the new website starting from end of July 2023 to book appointment in India. For other countries, it is still USTravelDocs.com, only India is using this website at the moment.

The redirection is not spam, it is legit. The redirection to https://atlasauth.b2clogin.com/xxxx is part of the authentication mechanism implemented based on Microsoft technologies and the domain is owned by Microsoft. So, nothing to worry.

You should email [email protected] for any issues.

I am an Indian citizen but currently living in Germany with a long-term research visa (D Type). Now, I have an opportunity from the US, and I need to apply for a J1. But in the CGI portal can’t see the option for Germany, and when the option is coming “from where you want to apply for the visa’, It automatically shows India. I already emailed to [email protected] to transfer my country from India to Germany, but they did not response. As I am working and living in Germany, I need to apply for a visa from Germany itself. I also tried to contact the USTravelDocs customer services in Germany through call and live chat but the chat or call couldn’t connect. As my joining date is 13/05/2024, I desperately want to transfer the country to my CGI USTravelDocs portal. What should I do now?

Hi, My agent has created a profile for me and added my wife as a dependant. Later he created a profile for my son and added my daughter as a dependent. I want to go for the consulate appt together, How can I do this as getting appt for both profiles on same day is next to impossible.

Hi I am trying to book the consulate appointment for H1b stamping but Chennai consulate does not show any available slots. Only slot available is in Hyderabad. But my h1b approval notice i797b is showing consulate/poe as Chennai – and my DS160 also reflects the same. So can I go for stamping to any other location in India where the slot is available ? Or I have to only go to Chennai

We are trying ro get F2 visa appointment but there seems to be no slots available anytime soon. Do you know if more slots could be added in the next few months? With new Fall 2024 univ admits will more F1/F2 slots be available?

I am getting error while booking appointment.. I paid the fee in last year and now trying to book appointment. Error i am getting – The Given key was not presented in the dictionary.

I sent around 10 email to visa support team and they just sent the same response every time. Anyone facing the same issue?

sandeep, It seems like some are stuck here. Did you try calling them? There are some users who suggested closing the application and creating a new one from the home page. Also, if you have dependent attached, you could try to do it from their account as well to close and restart a new one.

Hey guys, I am renewing my current visa and booked an appointment with the new portal. I am eligible for the interview waiver but despite that I had to schedule an OFC appointment and a Consular appointment. I am wondering what is happening. I should have needed to book only the dropbox appointment for submitting the documents. Has anyone else faced this issue and successfully resolved it?

Hello, I am having the same issue. Not sure how to proceed.

Not sure if you are facing this issue. But, I was getting into the same problem. What worked at the end was to do ‘Close and start a new application’. I used the same DS-160 receipt and the same payment receipt in the new application. Booked the date through the same workflow, without logging out. This time everything worked and I was allowed to book, only the drop box OFC appointment.

Hi Harini and Silvia, Are you able to book an appointment or fix the issues? I am also doing B1B2 renewal for my parents and even application is eligible for a Dropbox, it asked me to schedule an appointment for OFC and Consular.

My questions are related to the scenario below:- I had deferred my admission from last year to this year.

Last year, I filled the DS-160, Paid the Visa Fees( F1 Visa – $160), but did NOT book appointment. For this year intake, Would I need to fill a new DS-160 form?

In addition, I moved my Visa account from ustraveldocs to USAvisascheduling.com I can see the 3 boxes at the end of the page : Visa Information, Fee Payment and Dependents. Seems like all the details were carried over to the new site. But, I am not able to see them. ( Passport no, DS-160 number etc.)

I am able to click on Schedule appointment and see if any slots are open.

1. Is there a way to update/check the Profile details in this new portal ? (Passport no./DS-160 No. Address etc) 2. I paid the visa fees ($160) in March 2023. I guess the visa payment is valid for 1 year before which I have to book my appointment. Is that correct?

Much appreciated

I’m trying to schedule an appointment for my dad and mom to bring them to the US on B2. Should I create the account under my dad’s name and then add my mom as a dependent?

This is more frustating website. not sure who created . no validation and no customer support,.. eating lot of time

Vivek, Unfortunately, many have been facing issues with the new system. It is sad that the customer service is not up to the mark. All we can do is escalate and followup.

I created different profile for dependent and added to primary profile using “add using UID”. when i select payment option ‘citibank’ and submit i get the following error. “A validation error occurred for atlas_Payment_reference……”

Its been months customer care is of no help. i have only 2.5 months left for the expiry of the MRV fee. Someone please help me solve this issue

Is it possible to change DS-160 in application after paying the fees in the new portal ?

You can’t change DS-160, you don’t want to change it otherwise it will have negative impact. Your name in passport should match with DS-160/260, don’t worry about using different name in www.usvisascheduling.com site

I signed up with new user details but i am facing the following error when i try to login in the new website https://www.usvisascheduling.com/en-US/ after giving the secret answers . I am getting the following error for the past 10 days, not sure what exactly the mistake. Can i recreate my profile and try it. Any help here

We’re sorry, but something went wrong. Please try again, and if this persists, contact the website administrator.

Your profile is fine, its this people’s dumb site www.usvisascheduling.com. What you can do is try using firefox in private mode OR chrome incognito. Check your java to make sure its up to date. These people’s website error msg is useless, it does not give you better details, I have had issue where the error message says “an error has occurred” and that’s all.

IF you haven’t entered your details such as passport number and dob and all or address then you can create new profile using totally different e-mail address and it will let you create it, again when you create new profile, I suggest you use firefox in private mode OR chrome incognito, that way it won’t save any temp/cache details.

Not able to login. Enter my username, password, answered security questions. But clicking on login either comes back to login page or displays an error. Apparently this error has been known for months now.

Does this mean no one is able to get an appointment?? How does one get an appointment for VISA?? Does the embassy not know, why is this issue not getting fixed.

Created several ids so far. Can’t get through no matter what

I filled ds160 form In the old site but not submitted. In the new site, it’s not showing my application. 1) Whether I need to fill new forms in the new site 2) or if I submit in old site, it will reflect here

Kindly advise

Snandh, Not able to understand…. If the old account has not migrated properly, just create a new one. If you are stuck, call the customer service.

I created an account in the new portal and paid my fees on Oct 30, 2023, filled DS160 form for B1/B2 Visa renewal. As per the confirmation from the customer care the receipt number is tagged to my profile which I can see but I m not able to schedule my appointment.

I still am not able to see any option on the dashboard to schedule an appointment. I can see the following options:

Start Application Creat Group Request Manage Applications Feedback/Requests Messages

By clicking Start application I filled step by step almost details like Applicant details Visa Options Additional option Interview waiver etc but further does not show any movement in the system and not able to see option to schedule an appointment. I tried writing to customer care but only have received generic responses. Now they say 2nd Nov -2024 is last day of confirm Visa fee receipt. I m not able to see visa fee receipt clicking option anywhere.

Pl guide thanx Harsh

Take a screenshot of your web portal when you login and create ticket within web portal using feedback/request section and put all details, attach the screenshot (make sure to save it as jpeg, not jpg, you can use pdf as well) and tell them that this is what you see and can’t schedule an appointment. Tell them that your java version is up to date, you have cleared cache and all and tried different computers and browsers and still same issue. Their system is lame, its sets a flag on your account and now you can’t do a da$% thing. I am in same situation, and I am only seeing three options. Usually you supposed to see “close the application and start new one” option. Its so annoying and frustrating that those front end poor people don’t have much info about backend systems and people who manage the backend are clueless, don’t know who designed UI and using what kind of logic but its total garbage.

Hi, I am in the same situation as not been able to see an option to schedule appointment. Did it get resolved and what are the steps? Thanks

This new portal has lot of bugs. I’ve created new account and selected HYDERABAD as a visa OFC & interview location. I saw few slots and scheduled for an visa appointment in Hyderabad. But I have an received an appointment confirmation and email says that visa interview is in Chennai. I went back to website and suddenly visa interview location changed to Chennai where as I’ve selected appointment in Hyderabad. I’ve cancelled my appointment immediately.

Second time, few appointment slots showed up today for Nov 14th and booked it. I’ve received an appointment confirmation email and OFC date is on 10/29. How can I go for a fingerprints on a past date? Did anyone face same issue? There is no customer service to contact about this issue.

I am facing issues to reschedule an appointment and email/call/chat none of them work. I have to get an appointment for immigrant visa at the consulate. However i do no see an option on the website to reschedule it. I am able to schedule an appointment for OFC but where do i get an appointment for Consulate visa Interview. This is so frustrating and crazy. No support at all. Would appreciate if anyone can assist or share a link to schedule consulate visa interview. My mom has to come here for her medical treatment but seems they dont care.

If you want to reschedule an immigrant visa appointment, you have to use different visa category. Usually NVC/KCC schedule your visa interview and “you” can schedule your OFC (aka fingerprint/bio-metrics) appointment. Now IF you didn’t go for OFC appointment AND visa interview appointment due to personal reason or because your medical was not completed before your visa interview and now its completed then you have to go to your application and schedule appointment sing “class B medical” category and that will let you schedule OFC and VAC appointment. Usually state dept/us consulate should have sent you a letter with guideline. I have similar situation and I was able to schedule both but we had to cancel it and now I can’t schedule it again. And their front support is giving same cookie cutter answer and I don’t blame them but its really frustrating that the back end side team don’t do a dang thing to resolve the issue.

HI ,I created a profile for primary and separately for my son (dependent) for visa appointment scheduling. When I am trying to submit a dependent application it displays “Applicant Biodata currently locked”. Could anyone help me resolve the issue?

HI ,I created profile for primary and separately for my son name (he is dependent) for visa appointment scheduling. when i am trying to submit dependent application its displaying “Applicant Biodata currently locked”. any one have same issue? Provide solution please

Send ticket from whatever the e-mail address you used to create your son’s profile, attach first page of passport that has its pictures, ask them to remove lock.

Usually you shouldn’t create separate profile for your son, under primary applicant you can add dependent (and you provide different e-mail when you add them) and go from there.

Login into your son’s profile and see if you can submit application or continue application to schedule appointment.

Hi All, After migrating to the new system, I couldn’t reschedule/cancel. It shows weird page with twice Manage appointments.

Hi @Siva I’m also facing the same issue. Please share your solution.

Thank you for putting together all the information. I would appreciate the assistance wrt the following:

I paid the MRV Fee for the appointment (haven’t booked yet) while filling my DS-160 (say Application A) alongside. However, I was waiting on my legal team for some clarifications on some questions in the form. My Application A expired and I filled a new DS-160 (Application B) which I submitted. Since the new portal, does not enable me to update to the new DS-160 confirmation#, I am a confused with the next steps. Support team asked me to bring the old as well as the new confirmation receipts but I do not have the confirmation receipt for Application A since it was expired and never submitted in the first place. Could you please advise what steps can be taken on my end?

Appreciate the assistance in advance!

Becca, If you have not booked anything yet, you should be able to close the current application and create a new one. This way you can use the new DS-160 form. Check for options on that. Do post here, how it goes for community benefit.

Print your old DS-160 and new one and take both with you. If they have ability, they can see your old DS-160 and confirm that, don’t need confirmation #. This web portal is so annoying. If you haven’t booked any appointment and IF you see option saying close the application and start new one, I would do that, that way it will be clean slate.

I created an account in the new portal and paid my fees on Oct 20, 2023. As per the confirmation from the customer care the receipt number is tagged to my profile which I can see and they have confirmed that I can not schedule my appointment.

However I still am not able to see any option on the dashboard to schedule an appointment. I can see the following options:

But there is not option to schedule an appointment. I tried writing to customer care but only have received generic responses. They have however confirmed that they did receive the visa fee and that the receipt number is now tagged to my profile which I can see.

Kindly Advise, Regards M

Hi, You may need to click on continue application and there you need to confirm the receipt which is tagged to your profile. Once you confirm, you will move to next page where you can see schedule OFC appointment, post this when you go back to home page you will schedule appointment on left hand side menu. Hope this helps.

I have tried to create an account but I do get an error “An invalid value is presented for a property”. Can you help me with this

Please tell from which document I can get the “Petition Information” ?

AKS, I-797 Approval notice. Read Petition Information on USVisaScheduling

I have created an account on https://www.usvisascheduling.com/en-US/SignIn for booking my OFC appointment. While creating the Profile I gave my name in camel case as : Vir Pratap but in my passport my name is written in all CAPS as VIR PRATAP. The name is the same but in the passport it is completely in capital letters whereas I have provided the name in camel case while filling the application for visa appointment. I tried changing it but there is no option to do that. So, Just wanted to confirm if this is an issue while coming for an appointment and does my name have to be in full caps or is it fine being in camel case! In DS160 by default it is in All CAPS so in DS160 the name is VIR PRATAP.

Waiting for your reply.

Vir, The caps vs Camel case does not really make a difference. It should be fine.

Is it mandatory that Given name and surname to be given in Visa Scheduler has to be the first name and surname available in Passport? or can I use a short name for that?

Anil, You should use the same details to be consistent as this data is again matched with your DS-160 by their systems. If it does not fit, enter as much as you can.

Hello Friends..

I am trying to book a dropbox appointment for myself (H1) and my spouse (H4) together using the new site.

I have already migrated my account from OLD portal to new portal. How can I bring my wife’s old account migrated to mine so I can book dropbox for both of us together ?

Searched in lot of places, couldn’t find any reference.

I am yet to start application. Waiting on the confimation/guidance of how to schedule a joint appointment (H1+H4).

The validity of my current stamped visa ended early September 2023. Due to challenges in scheduling appointment for myself and dependent together, based on service desk representative’s advice, I created a separate profile for dependent. I scheduled dropbox appointments for myself and dependent at the same date and time.

My H-1B extension petition has been approved while my dependent’s H-4 extension petition is still pending with the USCIS. Will my dependent be fine with just my I-797 if her visa application is processed separately or is there a possibility at the VAC to merge our applications and send it for processing together?

Arun, Yes, only your approval is good enough. You do not need the H4 Extension approval notice. That is only applicable when your spouse is in the US for stamping. You could technically go at the same time and do it. You can contact them to see, if they merge, but it should not matter.

I’m facing the problem usvisasheduling portal user id from 20 sep 2023 I make already user id but when I try to log in and ask the pages security question when I put answer it’s shows didn’t math ,please help me out from this problem and customer support should b help . But no ans till now …

Bikram, If you are stuck, try to call or email the support.

Did your issue get resolved. I’m also having the same issue. Please keep me Posted

Did your issue get resolved? I’m having the same error and I’m not getting any response from support email nor I’m able to get a hold of anyone at support number +912262011000. Please help!

Same to me as well call on hold for 60 Min no response. I sent email with PP copy still no response. on line chat no reply . really facing issue with the security answers. Request to sent to support to resent security answers as well .

I had paid MRV fee on the old portal. After tons of difficulty, I was ab;e to see and link my receipt. Due to no appointments available, I tried to change the consulate and closed the application to restart a new one. It unlinked your payment receipt and now I am getting a constant error message ” A validation error occurred for atlas_payment_reference.atlas_total_amount_usd. The value -75.0000000000 of type System.Decimal is outside the valid range(0 to 100000000000).”

It is because anytime you close and start a new application, it sets a different reference # the profile despite all your details being the same (passport/DOB/Email) so it unlinks the receipt number from the old reference. This is a CRUEL website and whosoever made it, is definitely an amateur in his job. US Embassy is least bothered by this.

How did you link your payment receipt to the new website? I’m having the same problem – paid fees when it was the old website, but the new one shows 0 under fees.

Hi Parisha Bhatia … We need to contact customer care to unlink the receipt number?? how it is solved ?? Please explain this is my no 9848714949

Make sure your following and try creating account: Username: The new system requires you to enter a user name for future logins. You can choose a user name of your choice or simply remove the domain name details from your email. For example, let’s say you are using email “[email protected]”, you can just use a username from the email like “abc.xyz”.

after entering login id and password , then security question , my page is not processing further

Hello is that solved ur problem help me mine also sam problem

I am at fee step and have few questions.

The fee step shows a form which has fields such as recipient, city, state, address zip code etc.? What are we supposed to fill in these fields? My current US address?

Assuming , I filled my details above, it does finally go to the EFT screen and generated bank account details, ICICI bank, Mumbai. The Account Name is AVEP. I am unable to add the account to my bank and it says invalid account number. I used the virtual ICICI Bank account payee option to add above account.

Is anyone successful in adding payee generated at USVisaScheduling.com site ?

I am also having same exact issue. Only differenceidms that I filled out my parents India details and address instead of mine as they are the applicants. I don’t know how to resolve this. Any help from anyone will be appreciated.

Same issue. Has anyone able to resolve this error ?

It worked for me. Even though it is an ICICI account, it was not taking the account number starting with AVEP. Tried adding it as other account and did the NEFT. Email receipt came after few hours.

When I signed up on this new portal it had two appointments an old appointment(Apr 2023) and latest appointment(Sep 2023) showing up on the new portal. However suddenly I am no longer seeing the latest appointment on my confirmation instead it shows old appointment that is from April. This portal is buggy and lacks lot of features.

I have my visa slot scheduled for today, I am just going to go with the confirmation printout I have taken earlier where it had two appointments. I will update this thread on what happens next.

It is extremely painful experience with this site and there is zero help available on their email or customer care number. No one picks up and email responses are generic, with no attention to the question asked.:(

Same here Ankur!

if am forgetting security quotation in new visa appointment site how to change

Manage dependent has added 2 times my wife names and also not able to delete her name from profile as well as remove button also not working due tộ technical fault , do not understand how I add her it’s really hard for me and try lots of time to get ans from feedback but no response do not understand how I solve my problem? And dependents, it keeps saying email already exists in database. Closed and started the application afresh still same issue. Raised tickets on same site using feedback menu and still no resolution

Did your dependent issue resolved, I am facing same issue . please let me know if they are able to resolve this issue. This is so frustrating.

Hi, I’m also struggling to add my dependent but it keeps saying already exists. tried calling and creating a case, but no reply from customer service. Did you get any updates for you?

Manage dependent has added 3 times my wife names and also not able to delete her name from profile as well as remove button also not working due tộ technical fault , do not understand how I add her it’s really hard for me and try lots of time to get ans from feedback but no response do not understand how I solve my problem?

Abandon application and start a new one . Unfortunately, that’s the only way to fix mistakes.

If you abandon and start new application, what will happen to the fees paid. Will it be linked with new application

Am in the same boat. has anyone closed and opened new application? what will happen to paid receipts?

Hello bud – I am in horrible situation with this new website, which is absolutely a Joke. Did you hear any word on closed and opened new application? what will happen to paid receipts? In my situation I created Family/Group application for H1-B & H-4 after fee activation everything was fine, and it did reflect paid Visa fee amount tried to book slot and then it said ” an error occurred ” didn’t explain what error is then I tried to trouble shoot but nothing positive infact I lost “schedule appointment ” Tab and It’s currently saying continue application when I continue It’s throwing out a wiered error so planning to recreate new application so on safe side trying to understand If I will lose visa fee – thank you

If we do so, what will happen to the visa fee? please help

I am in same boat.Has anyone create a new application after paying fees? Did the payment get linked to new application?

Same situation Wrote several mails. Tried to contact support call each time wait for hours together but no one answers any call or mails. Continue Application and takes to Dependent page, update delivery address and back to main page. There’s no schedule option. Have paid the fees using new site. But that payment is not reflecting on this portal. Very very frustrating. Who created this website, I’m shocked.

how can we pay fees receipt for applicants and family members, i can see dependency in my profile but when i try on fee receipt page i can see number of applicants 1, can anyone in same boat?

I see issues in adding dependents, it keeps saying email already exists in database. Closed and started the application afresh still same issue. Raised tickets on same site using feedback menu and still no resolution.

Same Issue for me too

Same issue for me, Did your got resolved?

Same problem. Repeatedly mailed to support but no help. Did ur case get resolved?

Were you able to add payee to your account generated by the site? For me it keeps saying it is invalid account.

If we already have taken a print out of Appointment Confirmation from old portal, can we go for Biometric appointment with it or do we still need to sign up in new portal with all its issues.Afraid that existing appointments will get cancelled .

I had applied for tourist visa in August 2022. The payment was made in August 2022 and I had an appointment date confirmed for 28th October 2024. However, when I login to the new portal now to reschedule the interview, it shows that payment is pending. There is no response from the customer care. Please let me know how can I get this resolved.

Divya, Your option is to try the customer service only…unless they do something, it can be hard…

Hi, In short, my experience has been the WORST. It’s very sad to see how little do they care about legal, law abiding and tax paying individuals like us. So disrespectful. Made payment on 24th July and still unable to schedule appointment.

Issue: Made payment through old website. After transitioning to new website and making new application, it didn’t retrieve my old receipt number. After unsuccessful attempts to get their response via emails, chat and calling their helpline 1 million times, they finally pick up after a month and waiting for 60 min on hold. They said they can see my old receipt but it’s not showing up due to technical issue and it should be resolved soon. It’s been 2 month now but still same. Called them again and after waiting on hold for about an hour and explaining my issue, they just hung up. I was SHOCKED. Felt so helpless.

Is there anyway I can escalate this and get this resolved?

Chirag, Sorry to hear about your situation. Many users are having issues and the support is not consistent. I wish they had an escalation process. At least, one thing you could try is emailing the US Consulate or Embassy expressing the issue. Maybe they can consider. Check US Consulates India Contact info

Same problem. Repeatedly mailed to support but no help. Did ur case get resolved? Mine is exactly the same issue. Dependent name and fees not getting reflected

Followed all the steps as an existing user and I keep getting the same prompt that the account does not exist. Upon emailing the cust service, just been getting an automated response.

Kiran, Was the payment made as the old user or just without payment? Technically, it should work when you signup with the same email. Many had success, including me. Keep following up with them, or call them, to get more clarity. Please share your feedback here in comments for community benefit.

Hi Kumar, I am facing issue while claiming the already paid receipt on the old website. I’m trying to reschedule my drobox appointment. Always it gives error an error saying “Could not find a Receipt with given Receipt Number and Payment Date”. I’m entering 12-digit MRV Receipt number and my payment transaction date . No help from Feedback/Help team. Am I doing anything wrong. Pls help.

Rams, There are some issues people are facing maybe due to the timing or the system migration. Best bet is to contact them again or write to embassy or try to call them.

Facing issues with the new USTravelDoc Portal while booking Visa Appointments? This article may help

Key points:.

  • On July 29, 2023, the US embassy in India launched a new online platform for scheduling US visa appointments, aiming to enhance efficiency and user experience.
  • The platform, accessed through https://www.usvisascheduling.com/ , is tailored for Indian nationals, offering features like profile creation, fee payment, and appointment scheduling.
  • Despite initial promises of retaining appointments, users with prior bookings had to recreate profiles after the transition, while those who paid fees before July 29 had to redo their profiles as well.
  • Challenges emerged, including discrepancies in reflecting paid fees, technical glitches during form filling, and unresponsive customer service.
  • The system's potential is notable, with suggestions for improvement including swift technical issue resolution, enhanced customer support, and user education through guides and tutorials.
  • The system's transformational promise to revolutionize visa appointment scheduling and provide a user-centric approach requires ongoing attention, as seen in the need for continuous refinement and improvement.

Introduction:

Modernization is a constant pursuit across all sectors, and the realm of visa application processes is no exception. The US embassy in India embraced this spirit by introducing an innovative online platform for scheduling US visa appointments on July 29, 2023. This transition, from the erstwhile USTravelDocs and VFS Global systems, was aimed at offering a more user-friendly and efficient experience to applicants. However, like any major transformation, this shift has come with its own set of hurdles, underlining the significance of continuous improvement.

The Unveiling of the New System:

The new online platform, accessible through https://www.usvisascheduling.com/ , exclusively caters to Indian nationals applying for US visas. This revamped system enables users to log in, access their dashboard, make visa fee payments, and schedule interview appointments. Furthermore, the introduction of a dedicated customer service email ( [email protected] ) offers much-needed assistance to applicants navigating the new interface.

For those who had already secured appointments through the previous system, reassurance was provided that their appointments would remain intact. However, they were required to recreate their profiles on the new platform after the July 29 transition. Additionally, individuals who had already paid their visa fees before the shift were directed to recreate their profiles on the new system. These measures were put in place to facilitate a smooth data transfer process and minimize disruptions for applicants.

Challenges and User Feedback:

The objective behind the new system was to streamline the visa appointment scheduling process. However, feedback from users has shed light on a range of issues and concerns. Some of the challenges reported by applicants include:

  • Paid Fees Not Reflected: Numerous applicants have expressed frustration due to paid fees not being accurately reflected in the new system. This discrepancy has not only led to confusion but has also left users in a state of limbo after completing the payment process.
  • Form Filling Bugs: Users have encountered technical glitches while filling out forms, preventing them from successfully completing their scheduling process. These bugs not only disrupt the user experience but also hinder the timely submission of accurate information.
  • Unresponsive Customer Service: Reports indicate that the customer service team associated with the new system has been unresponsive and unhelpful when users attempt to report issues. This lack of support has left applicants feeling stranded and unsupported.
  • Migration of Old Accounts: Some users have faced challenges in migrating their old accounts to the new system. Unclear instructions have resulted in difficulties while setting up profiles.

Path Towards Improvement:

Despite its initial setbacks, the new online US visa appointment scheduling system holds immense potential. Addressing the reported issues is paramount to delivering a seamless experience to all applicants. Here are some potential improvements and solutions:

  • Technical Issue Resolution: Swift identification and rectification of technical glitches and bugs are essential. Regular system checks and updates can help preempt these issues from disrupting users' experience.
  • Enhanced Customer Support: Strengthening the responsiveness and effectiveness of the customer service team is crucial. Clear communication channels and prompt resolutions to user queries can mitigate frustration.
  • User Education: Providing comprehensive step-by-step guides and video tutorials can aid users in navigating the new system and comprehending its features. This can significantly reduce confusion during the transition.
  • Transparency: Regular updates and notifications to users about system improvements, issue resolutions, and upcoming changes can build trust and keep applicants informed.
  • Feedback Mechanism: Implementing a robust feedback mechanism can empower users to report issues and suggest improvements. This continuous refinement process can be invaluable in enhancing the system based on user experiences.

Championing the Online Visa Experience:

The evolution of visa application processes exemplifies the relentless pursuit of efficiency and user satisfaction. While the introduction of the new online US visa appointment scheduling system faced its initial trials, the dedication to overcoming these challenges underscores its significance. With the commitment to continuous improvement, this system has the potential to transform the way visa appointments are scheduled, offering a seamless and user-centric approach. In an era dominated by digital innovation, the path forward demands unwavering attention to user needs and a determination to provide the best possible experience.
