Traveling to the Philippines: How to Get eTRAVEL QR CODE Online (Arrival Card)

Traveling to the Philippines: How to Get eTRAVEL QR CODE Online (Arrival Card)

By continuing to read this article, you agree to double check with the authorities or other concerned entities for the latest updates.

Are you traveling to the Philippines? ALL incoming international travelers including Filipino citizens and foreigners, adults and children, must secure an eTravel QR code online 72 HOURS or THREE DAYS before your arrival.

Just like the old One Health Pass and eArrival Card, this new eTravel QR system serves as an all-in-one online platform for the arrival card, health declaration, and contact tracing.

But don’t worry, it’s easy to get one. In this article, we’ll walk you through the process one step at a time. Here’s how to do it.

WHAT'S COVERED IN THIS GUIDE?

1. Go to eTravel official website.

The official website is https://etravel.gov.ph .

Make sure it’s the legitimate website. Note that eTravel QR Code is FREE of charge. If you landed on a website requiring you to pay for the service, it’s a scam.

2. Start your registration.

On the home page, you’ll see the registration section. For Filipino citizens, click the PHILIPPINE PASSPORT HOLDER box. Then, start entering the following details:

eTravel Website Home Page

  • Transportation Type
  • Date of Arrival
  • Email Address

Tick the DATA PRIVACY AND AFFIDAVIT OF UNDERTAKING box. It’s easy to miss because the tick box is quite small, but you’ll find it before the CONTINUE button.

When you check that, a page will pop. Read first, then click the YES, I AGREE button.

Finally, hit the CONTINUE button.

3. Provide your Personal Information.

Enter the following details:

eTravel Website 2

  • Passport Number
  • Citizenship
  • Country of Birth
  • Mobile Number

If the system detected that you belong to the (legal) working age group, it will require you to answer the OCCUPATION section. Choose your professional field. If you can’t find it in the choices, select OTHERS . When you are done, click NEXT .

4. Enter your address.

You will be asked to provide your specific address down to house number or unit number.

If you live in Metro Manila, choose National Capital Region or NCR.

eTravel Website 3

5. Submit your travel details.

Enter the following travel information:

  • Arrival Date
  • Country of Origin
  • Purpose of Travel
  • Flight Number
  • Seat Number (optional)
  • Name of Airline
  • Airport of Arrival
  • Traveller Type (aircraft passenger or flight crew).

When you are done, click NEXT .

6. Accomplish the Health Declaration Form

eTravel Website 4 Health Declaration

This includes your Vaccination Details. If you are fully vaccinated, answer NO for the section asking if you have a negative Antigen Test result. After that are the usual ‘Yes or No’ questions about history of exposure and if you’ve been sick in the past 30 days. After answering all the items, click ‘NEXT’.

7. Review the information you encoded.

Read the summary of all the details you provided. If you need to change or correct something, just click the pencil symbol on the upper right portion of the category you want to edit. If you are good and you have nothing to correct, click SUBMIT .

eTravel Website 5

8. Download your QR Code.

Congratulations! You will instantly receive your QR Code.

Don’t forget to download or screenshot it! You’ll be presenting it upon arrival in the Philippines.

eTravel Website 6

  • If your QR Code page is GREEN , it means you met the travel requirements and you can directly go to express lane where you will have the BOQ officer scan your QR Code.
  • If your QR Code page is RED , you have to let the Quarantine Officer manually verify the required additional documents to determine if you are compliant with the entry protocols set by the Philippine government. Travelers who usually get RED-marked QR Code are the unvaccinated and the partially vaccinated. Again, check the entry guideline set by the Philippine Government first before traveling to the Philippines.

One QR Code is issued per transaction and per entry. You can only use it once and you need to register again and get a new QR Code the next time you travel to the Philippines.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

I want to change something after generating the qr code. how to correct it.

You can still edit your info if you noticed a typo error or you entered wrong data. However, note that you can only do this BEFORE it gets validated or verified by the BOQ officer upon your arrival sa Pilipinas. Ensure that you make your corrections before your flight to the Philippines.

To do this, just go to the main page or home page of eTravel, then click the UPDATE REGISTRATION button. Provide your reference number or transaction number and birth date.

At what point of the airport process should I present the QR code?

From the team’s experience, we were asked to present our QR Codes at these stations:

  • Check-in Counter, before departure abroad (at the country of origin)
  • Bureau of Quarantine Area, after deplaning and before the Immigration counters in the Philippines. The staff/officers will be scanning the QR code. It’s a very quick and smooth process if you have a green QR code.

The staff may also ask for it at the boarding gate (country of origin/abroad), so just ready your copy during these times.

ATTENTION! Travel requirements change from time to time, so it’s best to check with the government of the country you want to visit the updated travel restrictions and requirements before you travel. For the Philippine’s updated entry requirements, you can check the official eTravel website: https://etravel.gov.ph/entry-guidelines.

Do I still need to accomplish One Health Pass and eArrival Card?

No need. The eTravel has officially replaced the now obsolete One Health Pass and eArrival Card starting 2 December 2022.

To be honest, all these systems are very similar. The changes are not too drastic. Some items were removed such as the Philhealth Number, and then some required items are now optional. The noticeable difference is not really the content but the appearance or the user interface.

Do I have to pay for eTravel QR Code? How much is the charge?

No, you don’t need to pay anything for the eTravel QR Code. It is FREE of charge. If you landed on a website requiring you to pay for the service, it’s a scam.

Is there a Tagalog version of this article?

Philippine One-Stop Electronic Travel Declaration System

All passengers traveling to the Philippines must complete an electronic travel declaration both ahead of their journey and before departing the country.

The Philippine One-Stop Electronic Travel Declaration (previously called eTravel) replaces the eArrival Card ( originally the One Health Pass ) and the paper-based departure card.

The one-stop declaration requires less information and simplifies the process of authorizing your arrival in and departure from the Philippines and providing your health declaration.

Note that the eTravel declaration is not a visa or eTA . Passengers who require a visa or Philippines eTA must have both a visa/eTA and one-stop authorization. Visa-exempt travelers will still need to complete the One-Stop Electronic Travel Declaration .

What Is the One-Stop Electronic Travel Declaration for the Philippines?

Electronic travel registration includes providing a health declaration and information about the trip.

The data collected from eTravel enables Filipino authorities to perform contact tracing in the event that a traveler is found to have an infectious disease. In this way, it is an important measure to protect public health for both residents and visitors.

You must register with eTravel online before any trip to the Philippines , as well as before departure from the country . Once completed, you will receive a QR code or barcode to present on arrival or departure.

The declaration is the latest iteration of the Philippines’ digital health form. It has replaced the eArrival Card, which, in turn, replaced the One Health Pass. The original name for the form was the e-CIF. It also replaces the paper-based departure card.

The one-stop registration is now the only required health form . The eArrival Card, One Health Pass, and e-CIF are no longer in use.

How to Complete eTravel Declaration for the Philippines

Passengers register the Philippines eTravel declaration online. This is done through a web-based portal rather than a mobile app.

The registration involves completing a short online form with the requested information.

This can be done using a personal computer, laptop, smartphone, tablet, or other device connected to the internet.

The one-stop declaration form

The form asks for the following details:

  • Basic personal details
  • Travel plans
  • Accommodation
  • Vaccination status

There are fewer questions than on previous Filipino online health forms. The new form is more streamlined and quicker to complete .

Once the details are submitted, a QR code is generated .

Who Needs the Philippines eTravel Declaration?

All passengers entering or departing the Philippines must present a QR code or barcode from the one-stop declaration.

This includes:

  • Foreign residents of the Philippines
  • Filipino nationals

Travelers of all nationalities are required to complete a declaration for the Philippines. It is required for all purposes of travel, including transit through the country, and is also needed for departure.

Each traveler must complete a separate form . It is not possible to include multiple individuals on one form.

Do children need the one-stop declaration for the Philippines?

Yes, all travelers, including minors and infants , must have their own eTravel QR code/barcode on arrival/departure.

Parents or guardians may complete the online form on behalf of their dependents.

When Can I Complete the Philippines Electronic Travel Declaration?

Passengers should complete the registration process in the days leading up to their trip.

The information will be submitted for processing a maximum of 72 hours before traveling to the Philippines or departing from the country.

Can I Use the Same One-Stop eTravel Declaration More than Once?

No, the eTravel declaration is valid for a single use only .

The QR code can only be used to board a flight to/from the Philippines within 72 hours of completing the online form. Once it is scanned by a border officer on arrival/departure, it cannot be reused .

Each time you travel to or from the Philippines, you will need to register with the Philippine One-Stop Electronic Travel Declaration System..

Traveling to the Philippines With the One-Stop Declaration

After completing the online form, print or take a screenshot of the QR code or barcode . This is required to board a flight to or from the Philippines and must be shown to a Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) officer on arrival or departure.

Passengers may present their QR or barcode in one of the following ways:

  • Printed copy
  • Digital copy on a smartphone or device

eTravel QR code or barcode?

The passenger will be issued with a QR code as long as the information provided:

  • Is complete
  • Meets the entry protocols

Travelers with a QR code will be able to use the "Express Lane" on arrival or when departing. This means that all they need to do is scan the code on arrival/departure. There is usually no further interview or checking of health-related documents.

The individual will be issued with a barcode in the following circumstances:

  • The information provided during one-stop registration is incomplete
  • The individual’s details or health documents require further checks

Upon arrival in the Philippines, they will be interviewed by a BOQ officer . Here, the information and documents will be checked. It may be determined that the individual will need to quarantine or undergo other measures.

The Philippines One-Stop Electronic Travel Declaration System (eTravel) is an online arrival/departure card system . It’s designed to streamline the immigration process for travelers entering and exiting the country.

The Declaration System collects essential information about travelers , such as personal details, passport information, and travel itinerary.

If you’re entering the Philippines, you also need to answer some health questions , as it also acts as a Health Declaration.

Arriving in / Departing from the Philippines with an Approved eTravel

Once you make your Electronic Travel Declaration, the arrival process in the Philippines is straightforward. Upon arrival at the airport, proceed to the immigration area, where you will present your approved eTravel QR code .

It's essential to have a printed or digital copy of your One-Stop eTravel Declaration QR readily available for inspection. You must also present the same passport you used to register to the immigration officer.

The immigration officer will verify your eTravel QR and passport, and once cleared, you'll be granted entry into the Philippines .

However, please note that, depending on your nationality, you may also need to obtain a visa for the Philippines.

The processes for departing the Philippines with the Electronic Travel Declaration System is similar.

You simply present your eTravel QR code to pass through immigration and to board your transportation.

qr-code-arrival-card

Is the Philippines eTravel the same as the eArrival Card?

Yes , the Philippines One-Stop Electronic Travel Declaration System (eTravel) replaces the electronic Health Declaration Card or eArrival Card introduced as a COVID-19 safety measure for the Philippines. The eTravel now acts as a health declaration for the Philippines.

Both of the online systems replaced the traditional paper-based arrival / departure cards for the Philippines , making the submission process more convenient and environmentally friendly.

Is the eTravel the Same as a Philippines Visa?

No , the One-Stop Electronic Travel Declaration System Card is not the same as a Philippines visa . If your nationality is not visa-exempt for the Philippines, then you will need to obtain a visa in addition to the electronic arrival card.

Depending on your nationality, this may be either an electronic visa, a visa on arrival, or an embassy visa. If you are eligible for the Philippines eVisa, we recommend the online application method , as it is the most convenient and allows expedited entry to the country.

If you're traveling for business or work , a business visa or work permit is necessary. Your sponsoring company in the Philippines will typically assist with this process, which requires additional documentation, such as an invitation letter from the company.

Remember that requirements can vary , so always carefully check the Philippine entry conditions for your nationality well in advance of your planned departure date.

Is eTravel Declaration still required in the Philippines?

Yes , the eTravel Declaration (Philippines One-Stop Electronic Travel Declaration System) is still required for all foreign nationals and Philippine passport holders entering or leaving the country.

How long does it take to register with eTravel?

You can complete the online form for the eTravel in just a few minutes. Through this site, you can register the Electronic Travel Declaration as soon as you wish, right up to the day of travel.

If you require your document urgently, you have the option to select the Priority Service, which guarantees processing within 1 hour . Standard processing typically takes 1 to 2 days.

See the Department of State’s Fact Sheet on Philippines for information on U.S.-Philippines relations.

Entry, Exit and Visa Requirements

Visit the website of the  Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines  in Washington, D.C., for the most current visa information.

If you remain in the Philippines beyond the “admit until” date stamped in your passport by immigration authorities, you may be subject to fines and detention by the  Philippine Bureau of Immigration (BI).

Certain foreigners must apply for an  Emigration Clearance Certificate  (ECC) from BI before they may depart the Philippines.

See the Philippine Bureau of Immigration  (BI)'s website for information about Philippine visas, exit clearances, and Alien Certificate Registration (ACR).

See the  Philippine Retirement Authority  (PRA)'s website for information about the Special Retiree Resident Visa (SRRV).

U.S. citizens who intend to work in the Philippines should contact the Philippines Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for information.

The U.S. Department of State is unaware of any HIV/AIDS entry restrictions for visitors or foreign residents of the Philippines.

We advise all U.S. citizens against traveling with potentially prohibited items, such as firearms, on their person or in their checked baggage. While at the airport or traveling in country, possession of prohibited items such as live or spent ammunition or firearms, or anything resembling such items -- whether it be a souvenir, gift, or artifact – may subject the traveler to prosecution and stringent penalties by local authorities.  Learn more about how to avoid problems when traveling abroad with firearms.

Check with your airline to determine whether a particular item is allowed for transport, as well as with the appropriate authorities in the Philippines – such as the  Philippine National Police  and  Bureau of Immigration  – as well as the appropriate authorities in any transit countries.

You can find information on  dual nationality ,  prevention of international child abduction , and  customs regulations  on our website.

Safety and Security

Terrorism:  Terrorist groups, and those inspired by such organizations, are intent on attacking U.S. citizens abroad. Terrorists are increasingly using less-sophisticated methods of attack – including knives, firearms, and vehicles – to target crowds more effectively. Frequently, their aim is unprotected or vulnerable targets, such as:

  • High-profile public events (sporting contests, political rallies, demonstrations, holiday events, celebratory gatherings, etc.)
  • Hotels, clubs, and restaurants frequented by tourists
  • Places of worship
  • Shopping malls and markets
  • Public transportation systems (including subways, buses, trains, and scheduled commercial flights)

U.S. citizens should remain alert to the potential for explosions and bombings as part of pre-planned attacks, as well as the threat of kidnapping.

Terrorist and armed groups continue plotting possible kidnappings, bombings, and other attacks in the Philippines. Terrorist and armed groups may attack with little or no warning, targeting tourist locations, markets/shopping malls, and local government facilities.

The Philippine government has declared a “State of National Emergency on Account of Lawless Violence in Mindanao.” On August 24, 2020, dual suicide bombings in Jolo, Sulu, Mindanao, killed 15 people and injured 77 others.

For more information, please visit our website  here .

Crime:  Confidence games (con games), pickpocketing, Internet scams, and credit/ATM card fraud are common. Be wary of unknown individuals who attempt to befriend you, especially just after you arrive in country. Do not accept food, drinks, or rides in private vehicles from strangers, even if they appear to be legitimate. Solo travelers have been drugged and robbed by strangers after accepting an invitation to visit a tourist destination.

Kidnappings, physical assaults, murder-for-hire, and other violent crimes occur in the Philippines. Philippine government law enforcement agencies are engaged in a nationwide counter-narcotics campaign that has resulted in a sharp increase in violence between police and individuals suspected of involvement in the drug trade. As part of this campaign, law enforcement is engaged in aggressive search and buy-bust operations that could affect foreigners.

Taxis or ride-sharing applications are the recommended form of public transportation. However, taxi drivers and/or individuals using stolen taxi cabs have committed robberies. Ask the hotel, restaurant, and/or business establishment to call a reliable taxi service for you.

  • Do not enter a taxi if it has already accepted another passenger.
  • Request that the taxi driver use the meter to record your fare.
  • Wait for another cab if the driver is unwilling to comply with these requests.
  • Make a mental note of the license plate number of your taxi, or text it to someone, should there be a problem.

When driving in the city, make certain that vehicle doors are locked and windows are rolled up.

Travelers have been stopped and robbed shortly after leaving Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport in a taxi or private vehicle.

One common form of credit/ATM card fraud involves an illicit electronic device attached to ATM card readers that retrieves and records information, including the PIN, from a card's magnetic strip. Refer to the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) website for more  information .

International Financial Scams:  See the  Department of State  and the FBI pages for information on scams.

Internet romance and financial scams are prevalent in the Philippines. Scams are often initiated through Internet postings/profiles or by unsolicited emails and letters. Scammers almost always pose as U.S. citizens who have no one else to turn to for help. Common scams include:

  • Romance/online dating
  • Money transfers
  • Lucrative sales
  • Gold purchase
  • Contracts with promises of large commissions
  • Grandparent/relative targeting
  • Free trip/luggage
  • nheritance notices
  • Work permits/job offers
  • Bank overpayments

Victims of Crime:   U.S. citizen victims of sexual assault are encouraged to contact the U.S. Embassy for assistance.

Report crimes to the local police at the 911 hotline and contact the U.S. Embassy at +(63)(2) 5301-2000. Remember that local authorities are responsible for investigating and prosecuting the crime.

See our webpage on  help for U.S. victims of crime overseas .

  • Help you find appropriate medical care.
  • Assist you in reporting a crime to the police.
  • Contact relatives or friends with your written consent.
  • Provide general information regarding the victim’s role during the local investigation and following its conclusion.
  • Provide a list of local attorneys.
  • Provide our information on  victim’s compensation programs in the U.S.
  • Provide an emergency loan for repatriation to the United States and/or limited medical support in cases of destitution.
  • Help you find accommodation and arrange flights home.
  • Replace a stolen or lost passport.

Domestic Violence:  U.S. citizen victims of domestic violence are encouraged to contact the Embassy for assistance.

Tourism:   Please check with the  Philippine Department of Tourism  before traveling. The safety standards you might expect of transport and tour operators, including adventure activities such as diving, are not always met. Sufficient safety equipment may not be provided, and recommended maintenance standards and safety precautions may not be observed. Always use available safety equipment, such as lifejackets or seatbelts, even if others do not. If appropriate safety equipment is not available, use another provider. In the event of an injury, appropriate medical treatment is widely available throughout the country. Outside of a major metropolitan center, it may take more time for first responders and medical professionals to stabilize a patient and provide life-saving assistance. U.S. citizens are encouraged to purchase medical evacuation insurance . If you are planning to dive, the  Diver’s Alert Network (DAN)  provides information on diving accident management.

Local Laws & Special Circumstances

Criminal Penalties:  You are subject to local laws. If you violate local laws, even unknowingly, you may be expelled, arrested, or imprisoned. Individuals establishing a business or practicing a profession that requires additional permits or licensing should seek information from the competent local authorities, prior to practicing or operating a business.

The judicial process in the Philippines typically is lengthy, extending for years rather than weeks or months, and individuals charged with a crime can be held in indefinite pre-trial detention as their case makes its way through the judicial system. Penalties for possessing, using, or trafficking in illegal drugs in the Philippines are severe.

Convicted offenders can expect long jail sentences and heavy fines.

If a traveler is found to have any amount of drugs on his or her person, or nearby, when arriving or departing from the Philippines, he or she will be charged with trafficking. Trafficking is a non-bailable charge, and the maximum penalty is life imprisonment. If you intend to enter the Philippines with a prescribed controlled substance (e.g., medical marijuana), obtain clearance from the Philippine government first.

Since June 2016, Philippine authorities have conducted a public campaign against illegal drugs. This has resulted in armed confrontations between authorities and suspected drug dealers and users.

Always carry a copy of your passport in the event that you are asked about your citizenship. You may be questioned by authorities if you take pictures of certain buildings, especially government buildings or military installations. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs could land you immediately in jail.

The Philippine Bureau of Immigration (BI) may consider the participation of foreigners in demonstrations or political rallies in the Philippines to be a violation of the terms of admission. Foreign nationals who participate in demonstrations, political rallies, or other activity deemed anti-government in nature may be detained and deported for violating Philippine immigration laws.

In the Philippines, any adult in the company of a minor under 12 years old who is not related within the “fourth degree” may be subject to a severe penalty. U.S. citizens should be aware of this law both to avoid unlawful behavior and to protect themselves against potentially frivolous accusations.

Furthermore, some laws are also prosecutable in the United States, regardless of local law. For examples, see our website on  crimes against minors abroad  and the Department of Justice  website.

Arrest Notification:  If you are arrested or detained, ask police or prison officials to notify the U.S. Embassy immediately. See our  webpage  for further information.

Counterfeit and Pirated Goods:  Although counterfeit and pirated goods are prevalent in many countries, they may still be illegal according to local laws. You may also pay fines or have to give them up if you bring them back to the United States. See the  U.S. Department of Justice website for more information.

Faith-Based Travelers:  See the following webpages for details:

  • Faith-Based Travel Information
  • International Religious Freedom Report  – see country reports
  • Human Rights Report  – see country reports
  • Hajj Fact Sheet for Travelers
  • Best Practices for Volunteering Abroad

LGBTQI+ Travelers: There is no prohibition on entry into the Philippines by LGBTQI+ individuals. Transgender travelers should be aware that immigration officials may require supporting documents if the gender in the traveler’s passport does not reflect the gender expression of a transgender person. According to Philippine law, an individual’s sex must match that assigned at birth as reflected on the official birth certificate, even in cases of post-operative sex reassignment.

Same-sex relationships are not illegal in the Philippines, but they lack legal recognition. No federal law prohibits discrimination against LGBTQI+ individuals. Several cities, however, have passed local ordinances protecting LGBTQI+ rights. Despite these legislative efforts, LGBTQI+ individuals continue to face discrimination and harassment.

See our  LGBTQI+ Travel Information  page and section 6 of our  Human Rights Report  for further details.

Travelers with Disabilities:  Streets, buildings, and public transportation may lack facilities for persons with disabilities. Most public buildings are inaccessible to persons with physical disabilities or mobility impairments.  Government efforts to improve access to transportation for persons with disabilities are limited due to weak implementing regulations.

There are local stores in the Philippines for durable medical equipment (DME) and some pharmacies also carry limited medical supplies and equipment.

  • For information regarding disability laws, please visit the Philippines National Council on Disability Affairs website.

Students:  See our  Students Abroad  page and .

Women Travelers:  See our travel tips for  Women Travelers .

For emergency services in the Philippines, dial 911.

Ambulance services are not widely available, and training and availability of emergency responders may be below U.S. standards. Not all ambulances are equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment.

We do not pay medical bills.  Be aware that U.S. Medicare/Medicaid does not apply overseas. Most hospitals and doctors overseas do not accept U.S. health insurance.  For more information about TRICARE medical services overseas (a health care program for uniformed service members, retirees, and their families), including possible vaccinations, please visit their Tricare-overseas website .

Medical Insurance:  Make sure your health insurance plan provides coverage overseas. Most care providers overseas only accept cash payments. See  our webpage  for more information on insurance overseas. Visit the  U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention  for more information on type of insurance you should consider before you travel overseas.

We strongly recommend supplemental insurance to cover medical evacuation.

Always carry your prescription medication in original packaging, along with your doctor’s prescription. Check with the Philippine Bureau of Customs to ensure the medication is legal in the Philippines.

Vaccinations:  Be up-to-date on all  vaccinations  recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

  • U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention  (CDC)

Air Quality: Visit AirNow Department of State for information on air quality at U.S. Embassies and Consulates.

The U.S. Embassy maintains a  list of doctors and hospitals  in the Philippines. We do not endorse or recommend any specific medical provider or clinic.

Health facilities in general:

  • Adequate health facilities are available throughout the country but health care in rural areas may be below U.S. standards.
  • Public medical clinics lack basic resources and supplies.
  • Hospitals and doctors often require payment “up front” prior to service or admission.
  • Patients bear all costs for transfer to or between hospitals.
  • Psychological and psychiatric services are limited, even in the larger cities, with hospital-based care only available through government institutions.
  • Hospitals usually require advance payment or proof of adequate insurance before admitting a patient.
  • U.S. citizens have lodged a large number of complaints about unethical business practices, prices, and collection measures against some of the  hospitals in the Philippines. Travelers should make efforts to obtain complete information on billing, pricing, and proposed medical procedures before agreeing to any medical care.
  • Be aware that some hotels or resorts may have exclusive agreements with medical providers, which may limit your choices in seeking emergency medical attention.
  • Medical staff may speak little or no English.
  • Generally, in public hospitals only minimal staff is available overnight in non-emergency wards. Consider hiring a private nurse or having family spend the night with the patient, especially a minor child.

Medical Tourism and Elective Surgery:

  • U.S. citizens have suffered serious complications or died during or after having cosmetic or other elective surgery.
  • Medical tourism is a rapidly growing industry. People seeking health care overseas should understand that medical systems operate differently from those in the United States and are not subject to the same rules and regulations. Anyone interested in traveling for medical purposes should consult with their local physician before traveling and visit the  U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention  website for more information on medical tourism.
  • We strongly recommend  supplemental insurance  to cover medical evacuation in the event of unforeseen medical complications.
  • Your legal options in case of malpractice are very limited in the Philippines.
  • Although the Philippines has many elective/cosmetic surgery facilities that are on par with those found in the United States, the quality of care varies widely. If you plan to undergo surgery in the Philippines, make sure that emergency medical facilities are available and professionals are accredited and qualified.

Pharmaceuticals:

  • Exercise caution when purchasing medication overseas. Pharmaceuticals, both over the counter and requiring prescription in the United States, are often readily available for purchase with few controls. Counterfeit medication is common and may prove to be ineffective, the wrong strength, or contain dangerous ingredients. Medication should be purchased in consultation with a medical professional and from reputable establishments.
  • U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Food and Drug Administration are responsible for rules governing the transport of medication to the United States. Medication purchased abroad must meet their requirements to be legally brought back into the United States. Medication should be for personal use and must be approved for usage in the United States. Please visit the  U.S. Customs and Border Protection  and the  Food and Drug Administration  websites for more information.

Water Quality:

In many areas, tap water is not potable. Bottled water and beverages are generally safe, although you should be aware that many restaurants and hotels serve tap water unless bottled water is specifically requested. Be aware that ice for drinks may be made using tap water.

Adventure Travel:

  • Visit the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website for more information about  Adventure Travel .

The following diseases are prevalent:

  • Tuberculosis
  • Chikungunya
  • Visit the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website for more information about  Resources for Travelers  regarding specific issues in the Philippines.

Air Quality:

  • Air pollution is a significant problem in several major cities in the Philippines. Consider the impact seasonal smog and heavy particulate pollution may have on you and consult your doctor before traveling if necessary.

Travel and Transportation

Road Conditions and Safety:  Vehicle traffic is dense and unpredictable. The road system is frequently congested, and drivers are often undisciplined. Consider the risks of driving your own vehicle if you are not used to Philippine road conditions. Avoid driving off the national highways and other paved roads, especially at night. Be extra vigilant when crossing the street. Do not expect vehicles to stop.

Traffic Laws:  If you are involved in an accident, contact the local police, and attempt to stay inside your car until the police arrive before engaging with the other driver. Do not attempt to negotiate with drivers until police arrive. Drivers often ignore or do not yield to emergency vehicles, which may delay their arrival to the scene of an accident.

Always have a valid driver’s license and relevant documents with you when driving. Please review the following notices circulated by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) to avoid scams and requests for bribes from apprehending officers:  List of Traffic Violations and Penalties,  No Contact Traffic Apprehension Policy,   and Procedure in Settling Traffic Violations  The MMDA also publishes guidelines on  what to do during vehicular accidents .

Public Transportation:  Exercise caution while traveling by inter-island ferryboats or other public transportation. Avoid overcrowded or unsafe transport. There have been 19 major inter-island ferryboat accidents since 2012, two with significant loss of life. U.S. government employees are advised not to use inter-island ferry boat services unless they are the only means of transportation available. There have also been a series of bus accidents due to poor bus maintenance or driver error. While taxis are the recommended form of public transportation, there have been safety issues using taxis. Please refer to our Safety and Security section for more information.

See our  Road Safety page  for more information. Visit the  Philippine Department of Tourism website , the national authority responsible for road safety.

Aviation Safety Oversight:  The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has assessed the government of the Philippine’s Civil Aviation Authority as being in compliance with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) aviation safety standards for oversight of the Philippine’s air carrier operations. Further information may be found on the  FAA’s safety assessment page.

Maritime Travel:  Mariners planning travel to the Philippines should also check for U.S. maritime advisories and alerts . Information may also be posted to the  U.S. Coast Guard homeport website  and the  NGA broadcast warnings .

Guide: Mandatory eTravel Registration For Entry Into The Philippines

people standing in a hallway with a sign

It had been years since I last visited the Philippines and I arrived in Manila unaware that eTravel registration, formally known as Philippine Travel Information System, is required to enter the country. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

Guide: Mandatory Philippines eTravel System

Upon arrival into Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL), I was among the first off the aircraft and bolted for passport control since I wanted to try to catch an early flight to Bangkok. The line was not long and I soon reached the front.

An immigration official asked me for my QR code, which left me with a blank look on my face. He referred me to the front of the line, where a sign provided more details on eTravel. Looking around, it seemed like everyone on the United flight was being turned away to do the same thing.

We were given arrivals forms onboard, but those were for customs, not immigration.

a paper with text on it

The process was fairly straightforward and complimentary wi-fi was available in the terminal. Details were collected including passport information, flight details, and destination info within the Philippines.  You can register here .

a sign with pictures of women and qr code

Once the process was complete, just click submit and a QR code will be generated, with a border in either green or red.

Data submitted in the eTravel is reviewed and verified by the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ), hence, if you receive a green QR code, you may directly proceed with immigration inspection upon arrival. However, if you receive a red QR code, you will be required to undergo further inspection by BOQ before immigration formalities.

I was thankful the QR code was generated instantly for me and was green.

I proceeded back to the immigration counter (and watched many more people from the United flight turned away) before reaching the front again and having no trouble entering the country.

Very simple: save yourself hassle and register in advance with the Philippines eTravel system. Theoretically, United should have checked this in San Francisco prior to boarding my flight, but since it was only United’s second day of service to MNL I understand that some gaps were still in place. Register in advance here .

I travel October 2023. I too did not know of QRCode requirement. Immigration official asked for code. Like you, I looked puzzled. Official said don’t worry, type into his system for two minutes, and said you are good to go.

' src=

I was denied boarding at Seattle airport for lack of Etravel QR code, Delta airlines staff thought it was mandatory at point of orogin outside the Philippines like in Seattle, it’s a hassle coz I have to pay my rebooked ticket to resume my flight to the Philippines

I ask for a refund for my rebooking cost at Delta as CAB authority ruled in my favor but Delta airlines just offered me 2000 dollars ticket voucher which I just took coz Delta airlines don’t offer cash refund just ticket voucher

' src=

Would you need that if we were in transit and catching a flight to Bangkok instead of entering the country?

' src=

No, it would not have been needed had I just proceeded to transit security.

' src=

I don’t believe there are any transit security areas at any of Manila’s 4 NAIA terminals. All arriving int’l passengers including transiting ones will have to clear immigration and customs…You should have been reminded upon check-in at your departure city about the mandatory e-travel requirement, ranging from 72 hours and up to 2 hours before departure. A few passengers have been deported and black-listed from future entry into the country due to this infraction.

' src=

There are inT3 but you have to ask an agent to take you. In T1 there is a clear separation for transit pax now that all PAL intl flights are using T1.

' src=

Singapore has something similar but it is registration, not QR code. There are about 3 computers to use by the checkpoint if you forgot. That’s nice for those without a phone.

' src=

Had similar experience in Bali last month. No mention by airline of qr code requirement. Filled it in while walking from plane to immigration (after ladies beside me told me it was a requirement)

it’s supposedly linked to passport but who knows with the filipino computer systems.. from a filipino

if one fills it out beforehand there is no need to display the QR code though since it is automatic

' src=

Have I missed the big news – is every human now born with an iPhone embedded in their forehead?

Not everyone has a working cellphone with them. What do they do? Not allowed into the country?

There are sets of iPads locked on the eTravel page in that area.

' src=

Having a cellphone while traveling just makes life so much easier when things go wrong. Don’t understand why anyone would travel without one.

There are two lanes for Etravel inspection in immigration the express lane for those with QR code entitled in BOQ scanning machine and for those with no QR code BOQ personnel will assist them thru manual verification

' src=

I had the same thing in March, had no idea I had to do this. In immigration I scanned a QR code on my phone and did it in a few minutes. This October I did it ahead of time, and was never asked for it.

' src=

@ Jance: You must search the entry requirements of all host countries that you plan to visit before booking air tickets or leaving home. Then you must bring USD, a passport with 2-6 months validity, hard copies of reservations of flights and accommodations plus your tech gadgets. You should be grateful that English and USD are widely common and accepted around the globe. All airlines will not allow you to board if you do not produce air ticket to the next country. If you have no working phone overseas, you can eliminate many countries to visit on your list. Japan tops the list followed by South Korea, Taiwan, HK, etc.. Without a cell phone to navigate the transit system, you must be proficient at using it as well, you only choice is hiring a tour guide. These are basic knowledge and common practice for all travelers to any destinations.

' src=

I completed the online form prior to travel and got my QR code. Upon arrival at NAIA immigration nobody asked to see it. More inconsistent and pointless bureaucracy.

' src=

There are doubts in my mind that this is needed because in the three times I arrived in PH they never asked for the code (but I still did it knowing the requirements). Maybe it’s linked in the system so they’ll know if one registers or not

Philippines

Entry requirements.

This advice reflects the UK government’s understanding of current rules for people travelling on a full ‘British citizen’ passport from the UK, for the most common types of travel.

The authorities in the Philippines set and enforce entry rules. If you’re not sure how these requirements apply to you, contact the Embassy of the Philippines in the UK .

To enter the Philippines as a visitor, you must have a ticket for your departure. Most airlines will not carry you if you cannot produce your departure ticket.

You must also register with the ‘e-travel’ system 72 hours or less prior to your arrival.

COVID-19 rules

There are no COVID-19 testing or vaccination requirements for travellers entering the Philippines.

Passport validity requirements

Your passport must have an ‘expiry date’ at least 6 months after the date you arrive.

Check with your travel provider that your passport and other travel documents meet requirements. Renew your passport if you need to.

You will be denied entry if you do not have a valid travel document or try to use a passport that has been reported lost or stolen.

Visa requirements

UK passport holders do not need a visa to visit the Philippines for 30 days.

If you overstay your visa-free 30 days without getting an extension , or if you overstay any visa without authority, it is a serious matter. You could face fees and fines, and detention if you cannot pay them, or you could be deported at your own expense.

If you want a visa to live, work, or study in the Philippines, you’ll need to meet the requirements of the Philippine immigration regulations . This includes having certain UK documents (birth certificates, marriage certificates, UK police certificates, school documents) legalised by the Legalisation Office (not by the Philippine Embassy in London).

Children travelling without their parents

If your non-Filipino children aged 14 or under are travelling without either parent, you must apply for a waiver of exclusion ground for entry into the Philippines .

Vaccination requirements

At least 8 weeks before your trip, check the vaccinations and certificates you need in TravelHealthPro’s Philippines guide .

Depending on your circumstances this may include:

  • a yellow fever vaccination certificate
  • a polio vaccination certificate

Customs rules

There are strict rules about goods you can take into or out of the Philippines . You must declare anything that may be prohibited or subject to tax or duty.

Taking money into the Philippines

You cannot bring in more than 50,000 Philippine pesos. If you are bringing in foreign currency (cash or cheques) worth more than 10,000 US dollars, you must complete a foreign currency declaration form on arrival.

Exit requirements

If you have stayed in the Philippines for 6 months or more on a tourist visa, you must get an emigration clearance certificate ( ECC ) during the 72 hours before you leave the country.

If you were in the Philippines on a visa issued by the Department of Justice ( DoJ ), the Board of Investments ( BoI ), the Philippine Retirement Authority ( PRA ) or the Philippine Economic Zone Authority ( PEZA ), you will need a travel pass from the department that issued your visa to leave the Philippines. If you have  an ECC , you do not need a travel pass.

Airport tax

If you’re leaving the country from Cebu Mactan airport you must pay a departure tax of 850 Philippine pesos in local currency or the equivalent in US dollars. There’s no longer a departure tax at Manila airport. This information can change and you should check with local authorities before you travel.

How to Process eTravel Registration Philippines

Now that travel has become much more relaxed since the start of the pandemic, people are again interested in packing their bags and flying off to places that they have always dreamed of. However, there are still some requirements that travelers need to comply with. Recently, the Philippine government has imposed the need for an eTravel Registration , which is an update to the OneHealth Pass . That being said, before you plan your travel back to the country anytime soon, be sure to learn more about this recent travel requirement update.

In this post, we will talk about the eTravel card, how you can get one, and its benefits. If you’re ready to learn more, don’t change tabs and keep on reading!

How to Process eTravel Card Registration Philippines

What is eTravel Registration?

The eArrival card functioned as an online health declaration and contact tracing platform, facilitating the transit of foreign passengers from their country of origin to their destination’s Local Government Unit (LGU) in the Philippines.

Beginning December 1, 2022, the Philippine government replaced the eArrival card with a new e-Travel registration. The goal of e-Travel registration will be similar to that of the eArrival card, but it will require less information, be easier to complete, and have an intuitive interface. The former eArrival card registration page will be available and approved just during a brief transition period.

Benefits of eTravel Card Registration

There are many benefits to registering your e-Travel card. First and foremost, it will make your travel experience easier. Upon arrival at the airport in the Philippines, you will no longer have to fill out an immigration form or queue up at a desk. Instead, you simply hand over your passport and receipt for payment of fees (if any). Read on to learn more about how you can benefit from registering your e-Travel card.

Convenience

The eTravel registration is incredibly convenient for both travelers and travel authorities.

This saves time and effort, allowing travelers to relax during the trip instead of worrying about the registration process. Additionally, travel authorities can quickly and easily access traveler health information, allowing them to provide more efficient assistance.

Cost Savings

The eTravel registration can also help to save money. By eliminating the need for paper forms and manual data entry, eTravel registration reduces administrative costs associated with registering travelers.

Additionally, eTravel registration can help reduce medical care costs by streamlining the registration process and allowing the medical staff at travel entry/exit points to focus on providing the necessary assistance and guidance to passengers instead of worrying about paperwork.

Improved Accuracy

The eTravel registration also helps to improve accuracy. By eliminating manual data entry, online health travel registration reduces the chance of errors in patient information.

Additionally, the eTravel registration allows for real-time updates to traveler information, ensuring that travel authorities have access to the most up-to-date information. This helps to ensure that travelers receive the best possible support and guidance on their journey.

Increased Security

The eTravel registration also offers increased security for both travelers and local authorities. Using secure encryption technology, eTravel registration ensures that patient information is kept safe and secure.

Additionally, online health travel registration allows healthcare providers to access patient information without worrying about unauthorized access or data breaches.

Streamlined Communication

Online health travel registration also helps to streamline communication between travelers and travel authorities. By allowing travelers to provide their medical information easily and coordinate with travel authorities, eTravel registration helps to ensure that travelers receive timely response and guidance from travel authorities.

Additionally, the eTravel registration allows travel authorities to quickly and easily communicate with travelers, helping to ensure that they receive timely updates on their health status.

Entry Guidelines

As per IATF Resolution No. 2, travelers should be aware of the various requirements when it comes to entering the Philippines. Here are the entry guidelines for those traveling to the Philippines. This information is taken from etravel.gov.ph :

A. FULLY VACCINATED (Filipino and Foreign Travelers)

– No pre-departure COVID-19 Test requirement – At least fourteen (14) days before departure from the country of origin/port of embarkation, you must have received the second dose of a two-dose series or a single dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

B. UNVACCINATED or PARTIALLY VACCINATED (Filipino and Foreign Travelers)

1. Travelers aged 15 and up must present a remotely supervised/laboratory-based Rapid Antigen Test administered and certified by a healthcare professional in a healthcare facility, laboratory, clinic, or other similar establishment taken 24 hours prior to departure from the country of origin/first port of embarkation in a continuous travel to the Philippines, excluding layovers.

2. Adults (15 and older) who fail a pre-departure test must submit to a laboratory-based Antigen Test UPON ARRIVAL at the airport.

3. Children under 15 years old who are not being vaccinated for any reason must meet their parents’ or guardian’s requirements. They must also follow the recommendations above.

NOTE: Any inbound traveler, whether Filipino or Foreign national, who shall test positive for COVID-19 through rapid antigen test shall be subjected to the latest prevailing quarantine and isolation protocols of the DOH.

Who should apply for an eTravel Card?

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) has mandated that all travelers entering the country complete an eTravel registration.

eTravel Card registration

eTravel is an online platform and information system that is web-based and responsive to mobile devices. To utilize eTravel, all you need is a mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet, a laptop, or a desktop computer. You can access the eTravel platform via the web browser on your mobile device or personal computer.

When to register

Individual eTravel registration applications must be submitted a minimum of 72 hours before an inbound traveler enters the Philippines. This requirement applies to all inbound travelers, regardless of nationality or place of origin, including infants and children.

It is extremely important that the eTravel registration form be completed in its entirety since you will be asked to produce proof of registration in order to board the aircraft.

Process for eTravel Card Registration

Registering on the eTravel platform is simple. Here are a few steps you can follow:

Step 1 : Go to the eTravel registration website .

Step 2: Choose either “Philippine passport holder” or “Foreign passport holder” based on your nationality.

Step 3: Enter your trip details and email address, then hit “Continue.”

Step 4: Fill out your registration form by providing your personal information and signing a health declaration form.

That’s it! Simple, right? After you have successfully registered for the eTravel Card, your QR Code will be sent to you. You can download or take a snapshot of this QR Code before exiting or closing the eTravel application or website. You will then be required to present this code to the airline representative before boarding the plane.

Green QR Code

Once you have submitted all required information and files, the eTravel system will generate a Green QR Code for you. When you are given a Green QR Code and your online registration information and associated documents are authenticated, you will be able to use the airport’s “Express Lane,” where your Green QR Code will be scanned and tagged with your arrival date and time. There could be no additional interviews or document submissions.

Red QR Code

If you are lacking prerequisites, you will be issued a Red QR Code and will be interrogated by Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) workers upon arrival at the airport to manually verify and determine if you are required to undergo facility-based quarantine and RT-PCR Testing.

Cost for eTravel Card

Unlike other travel registration sites, eTravel does not require a payment method. It is free of charge, and you can register without any form of payment. Be wary of websites that claim to be legitimate, but require payment in order to operate.

Video: UPDATED E-TRAVEL REGISTRATION STEP BY STEP GUIDE | ETRAVEL REFERENCE NUMBER | ETRAVEL PHILIPPINES

If you’re looking for an easy way to stay up-to-date on all the latest e-travel registration steps, then watch this new video about the updated e-travel registration process.

This video will answer some of your most urgent questions about the process, giving you the tools and knowledge you need to ensure a stress-free travel experience.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Following the IATF directive, eTravel will be replaced by a new website featuring a health declaration checklist. The public will be informed about the new link once it is deployed. Meantime, here are some FAQs regarding the eTravel registration system:

1. What is the purpose of the eTravel?

The eTravel platform allows international travelers to easily and securely declare their health information and contact tracing details while they’re in the Philippines. It’s also for the country’s government to have a database of all individuals entering the country who have been diagnosed with a specific disease.

All foreign and local travelers, including children and infants, should register for the eTravel platform before they travel to the Philippines.

2. What is DOH?

The Department of Health is the country’s primary health agency. It is responsible for providing comprehensive public health services. It also regulates the activities of various providers of health care.

3. What is BOQ?

The BOQ, which is regarded as one of the government’s oldest agencies, is responsible for ensuring the security of the Philippines against the spread of infectious diseases and other public health emergencies.

4. What is IATF?

The IATF-EID is composed of various agencies and departments of the Philippines. In January 2020, it was tasked with addressing the growing outbreak of COVID-19 in Wuhan, China.

On March 9, 2020, President Duterte ordered the formation of the IATF-EID to address the growing number of COVID-19 cases in the country. The IATF-EID is composed of the following executive departments and agencies:

Chair: Department of Health Co-Chair: Department of National Defense Members: Department of Agriculture; Department of Budget and Management; Department of Education; Department of Finance; Department of Foreign Affairs; Department of Information and Communications Technology; Department of the Interior and Local Government; Department of Justice; Department of Labor and Employment; Department of Migrant Workers; Department of Public Works and Highways; Department of Science and Technology; Department of Social Welfare and Development; Department of the Interior and Local Government; Department of Tourism; Department of Trade and Industry; Department of Transportation; Office of the Executive Secretary; Office of the Press Secretary; Presidential Management Staff; Office of the Special Assistant to the President; Commission on Higher Education; Technical Education and Skills Development Authority; National Economic and Development Authority; Office of the Chief Presidential Legal Counsel; and Civil Service Commission.

5. What are the Entry Requirements in the Philippines?

You must first register with eTravel and show proof of your registration when you’re at the airport or on your way to the Philippines.

In accordance with IATF Resolution 168, effective May 30, 2022, all international travelers who are planning on visiting the Philippines are hereby exempted from having to undergo a facility-based quarantine and are only required to present a negative test result if certain conditions are met.

6. What does Fully Vaccinated mean?

Travelers who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are referred to as F-Vocinated. They have had a second dose of the vaccine or a single dose of the vaccine more than 14 days before they leave for their destination.

7. What does Booster mean?

The booster shot is a type of immunization that is administered to a population that has completed a series of vaccinations.

8. Why do I need to register to the eTravel?

On September 1, 2021, all incoming travelers in the Philippines are required to use the e-Travel registration system to confirm their details. This is according to IATF Resolution 135.

9. Do I need to pay for the registration of eTravel?

The eTravel registration process is free of charge, and does not require a payment via online. Be aware of fraudulent or fake websites that claim to have the necessary payment details.

10. Do I need to download and APP to use the eTravel?

The eTravel is a web-based platform that is mobile-friendly. It can be accessed through a smartphone or tablet or a computer. You can open it using a browser that’s compatible with mobile devices.

11. Do I need an internet connection to use the eTravel?

eTravel is an online platform that can only be used if you have a stable internet connection. It is recommended to use it while you have such a connection.

12. Can I register few days before the flight (before I travel)?

You can only register for eTravel within three days prior to your trip to the Philippines. Those who have already submitted their proof of registration must present it at the airport. Their recent health condition must also be declared within 72 hours before they can board the plane.

13. Is all information asked in the eTravel relevant to Health Declaration Checklist requirement?

Some of the questions that were added to the system were designed to help the authorities determine which category you should be in, based on the requirements of the IATF. This will allow you to easily navigate through the various categories and be assisted by the health border authorities.

14. What is eHDC?

The Electronic Health Declaration Card is a type of card that’s used by all travelers in the Philippines to present their health information to BOQ. This form was previously filled out manually by the travelers. With the eTravel, instead of using a yellow paper form, you will receive a QR Code form after your registration has been successful.

15. What is the difference between the Green QR Code and Red QR Code of eTravel?

The eTravel system will issue a Greeb QR Code if your submission of the necessary information and attachments is complete and compliant with the IATF’s latest entry protocols.

On the other hand, if you have any missing requirements, you will be issued a Reg QR Code upon reaching the airport. A BOQ representative will then check if you have to undergo RT-PCR or quarantine testing.

16. What do I need to do after I register?

Before you can exit or close the eTravel application or webiste, take a quick look at your QR Code. This will allow the airline representative to confirm that you are a legitimate user and allow you to board the plane. You must then present this code to the BOQ Quarantine officials upon reaching the Philippines.

17. What happens if I have a QR Code issued upon successful registration with eTravel?

Upon registering for eTravel, you will automatically be considered for the express lane upon your airport or seaport arrival.

This means that the Quarantine Officer no longer has to show other documents to you. However, they still check and verify the data that you have submitted to the BOQ in case there are discrepancies or incorrect information. If you have submitted documents that are incomplete or incorrect, such as the COVID-19 test or vaccination, you may still be required to go through a manual verification procedure at the airport.

18. What happens if I have a Red QR Code issued upon successful registration with eTravel?

Upon being verified by the Quarantine Officers, you will be asked to provide them with specific documents in order to determine if you are following the entry protocol of the Philippine Government.

19. What is “Express Lane”?

The eTravel process has been designed to make it easier for international travelers to comply with the health protocol requirements of the country they are visiting.

Through the express lane, you can easily identify and confirm your arrival date and time by scanning and tagging your Green QR Code. This feature eliminates the need for you to submit any documents and allows you to leave the airport without further interviews.

20. What is Manual Process?

Travelers with a Red QR Code may be required to undergo a manual process to confirm their health protocol compliance upon entering the Philippines. This step can also be performed upon submission of documents or information.

21. Does it automatically mean that I will be quarantined if I am manually processed upon arrival by BOQ?

If BOQ verifies that you are in compliance with the entry requirements, then you will not need to go through a facility-based quarantine.

22. Can I print my eTravel personal QR code instead of screenshot?

You can print this document for presentation at the airport or seaport of origin or upon your arrival in the Philippines. Just make sure to take a quick Screenshot or download the eTravel app to save your personal QR code.

23. I lost the screenshot of my personal QR Code, what do I do?

You can retrieve your QR Code and other personal details by logging in to the eTravel website. To do so, go to the website’s main page and click on the “My Profile” tab. You can also enter your details, such as your birthdate and reference number.

23. I lost my transaction number; how can I open my profile?

Follow the instructions below to try and find your transaction number. If it’s still valid, you can proceed to your account and receive your email address.

24. I made a mistake. Can I still edit my information after I have successfully registered?

If you have not been verified, processed, and tagged as you were when you entered the eTravel by the border health authorities, you can still change some of your details in the website’s “Open My Profile” section.

However, you will not be able to edit the data that you have collected since you have arrived due to the quarantine officer’s strict requirements. The data that you have collected includes your arrival date, address, and other personal information.

This helps reduce the risk of  transmission  and ensures that travelers are prepared to follow quarantine protocols during their stay.

–  Streamlined Process for Travelers and Authorities

o The e-Travel app streamlines the entry process for both travelers and authorities, reducing the time and effort required for travelers to obtain the necessary entry requirements, and reducing the workload for authorities who are responsible for monitoring and enforcing these requirements.

How to Use the e-Travel App

Registering on the app is simple, with a step-by-step guide that prompts travelers to provide passport information and a travel itinerary. All travelers must complete the necessary entry requirements on the app, including registering their details, verifying vaccine status or submitting negative rapid antigen test results, and monitoring quarantine status and protocols. The e-Travel app simplifies travel to the Philippines by offering a one-stop solution for entry requirements and health/safety protocols. It enhances the travel experience for travelers and supports the growth of tourism in the country. It’s important for travelers to follow entry requirements and use the app to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Secretary of State Antony Blinken will travel to China this coming week as Washington and Beijing try to keep ties on an even keel despite major differences on issues from the path to peace in the Middle East to the supply of synthetic opioids that have heightened fears over global stability.

The rivals are at odds on numerous fronts, including Russia’s war in Ukraine, Taiwan and the South China Sea , North Korea, Hong Kong, human rights and the detention of American citizens. The United States and China also are battling over trade and commerce issues, with President Joe Biden announcing new tariffs on imports of Chinese steel this past week.

The State Department said Saturday that Blinken, on his second visit to China in less than a year , will travel to Shanghai and Beijing starting Wednesday for three days of meetings with senior Chinese officials, including Foreign Minister Wang Yi. Talks between Blinken and Chinese President Xi Jinping are expected, although neither side will confirm such a meeting is happening until shortly before it takes place.

The department said in a statement that Blinken would “discuss a range of bilateral, regional, and global issues,” including the Middle East, the war in Ukraine, the South China Sea and the Taiwan Strait.

He will also talk about progress made in “resuming counternarcotics cooperation, military-to-military communication, artificial intelligence, and strengthening people-to-people ties” and will reaffirm how important it is for the U.S. and China to be “responsibly managing competition, even in areas where our two countries disagree,” State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said.

The trip follows a phone call this month between Biden and Xi in which they pledged to keep high-level contacts open, something they had agreed to last year at a face-to-face summit in California. Since that call, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has visited China and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has spoken by phone with his Chinese counterpart . Meetings at lower levels also have taken place.

Despite those encounters, relations are rocky. The U.S. has recently become more vocal in its calls for China to stop supporting Russia’s military-industrial sector, which Washington says has allowed Moscow to boost weapons production to support the war against Ukraine .

“We see China sharing machine tools, semiconductors, other dual-use items that have helped Russia rebuild the defense industrial base that sanctions and export controls had done so much to degrade,” Blinken said Friday. “Now, if China purports on the one hand to want good relations with Europe and other countries, it can’t on the other hand be fueling what is the biggest threat to European security since the end of the Cold War.”

Blinken also has pushed for China to take a more active stance in pressing Iran not to escalate tensions in the Middle East . He has spoken to his Chinese counterpart several times since the Israel-Hamas war began six months ago as he has sought China’s help in getting Iran to restrain proxy groups it has supported, armed and funded in the region.

That topic has taken on new urgency since direct back-and-forth attacks by Iran and Israel on each other’s soil in the past week.

Also high on the agenda for Blinken will be Taiwan and the South China Sea.

The U.S. has strongly condemned Chinese military exercises threatening Taiwan, which Beijing regards as a renegade province and vowed to reunify with the mainland by force if necessary. Successive U.S. administrations have steadily ramped up military support and sales for Taipei, much to the anger of Chinese officials.

In the South China Sea, the U.S. and others have become increasingly concerned by provocative Chinese actions in and around disputed areas. In particular, the U.S. has voiced objections to what it says are Chinese attempts to thwart legitimate activities by others in the waterway, notably the Philippines and Vietnam.

That was a major topic of concern earlier this month when Biden held a three-way summit with the prime minister of Japan and the president of the Philippines.
