The Rolling Stones are coming to Phoenix. So is the traffic. How to minimize the aggravation

The Rolling Stones bring their Hackney Diamonds Tour to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on Tuesday, May 7.

They’re the first act ever to bring three tours through State Farm Stadium, having previously played there in 2006 (when it was still called University of Phoenix Stadium) and 2019. The last time they were here, on the No Filter Tour , they drew a crowd of 52,726.

That's a lot of people, which can only mean a lot of traffic as thousands and thousands of drivers inch their way along the roads that lead to State Farm Stadium.

This is especially true for those who like to time their arrival to when the Stones are just about to hit the stage.

That’s how bottlenecks happen. And bottlenecks are wonderful for playing slide guitar, as Keith Richards could tell you, but not so much for getting to your seat on time.

And you don't want to miss a minute of the action. As Mick Jagger told The Republic in an exclusive interview , he's there to make sure people hear the songs they came to hear.

"Well, "I have a list of all the numbers we rehearsed, right?" Jagger said. "We rehearsed for four weeks. So then, I go through all the ones I think we have to do, that people expect, that if we didn't do them, people would go, “Well, I came here to see ‘Honky Tonk Women' and they didn't do it.” And of course, I enjoy doing it. It's not a problem."

As luck would have it, there are ways to make your trip to State Farm Stadium as painless as humanly possible.

The earlier you get to State Farm Stadium for the Rolling Stones, the better

As with any major stadium event, it’s best to plan on getting to the parking lot as early as you can. The concert starts at 8 p.m. Doors are at 6 p.m. Parking lots open at 4 p.m.  

“Unfortunately when doors open, that’s right around midway through after-work rush hour,” says Moroni Mendez, a public information officer with the Glendale Police Department. "So our advice would be to try to get there early so that you can beat the traffic or do anything you can to avoid being stuck in all that congestion.”

Figure out your parking for the Rolling Stones concert in advance

Mendez advises visiting the venue’s website, statefarmstadium.com , to figure out the parking situation in advance.

“I always try to tell people to try to research ahead of time just so that they know approximately which area they want to park and what route is best to take,” he says.

Follows signs directing traffic outside State Farm Stadium

Roadways will be closed as you approach the stadium with traffic barriers and signs directing cars to go a certain way.

“It’s kind of hard to guess or know ahead of time how the roads are going to be set up,” Mendez says. “That’s why we advise people to try to get there earlier so they can try to beat the rush.”

General Parking (blue) access points are available via Glendale Avenue or Cardinals Way from Loop 101 and from surface streets, including 91st and 99th avenues. Upon nearing the stadium, follow the guidance provided by messaging boards and parking staff.

The stadium's parking operations team will direct vehicles into lots according to capacity and traffic flow. To ensure smooth parking and to be directed to the closest available lot to State Farm Stadium, adhere to the directions and instructions provided by Glendale police and the stadium's parking staff.

“When entering the entertainment district, just pay attention to traffic signs directing cars and obviously drive with caution,” Mendez says. “There’s going to be a lot of traffic, a lot of vehicles. Maybe you can focus on the driving and have a passenger available to keep an eye out and kind of lead you.”

Mendez says the stadium will be providing updates on Instagram, Facebook, and X, formerly known as Twitter.

Use the WAZE app for State Farm Stadium road closure details

Road closures around the stadium will be included in the WAZE app the day of the event.

Fans with Red Preferred Parking can search WAZE for Red Lot - State Farm Stadium for guided navigation to the Red Preferred entry. 

General parking can arrive at the stadium parking from any direction to be guided into the closest available lot.

Have your parking ticket QR code ready to scan

Traffic will move faster if you take a moment before you arrive at the stadium parking entry to upload your parking permit QR code and have it open on your phone for the parking attendant to scan. 

Taking Lyft or Uber to the Rolling Stones at State Farm Stadium

Mendez also recommends using Uber or Lyft.

“If you use rideshare, you don’t have to worry about the driving,” he says. “And it’s maybe a little simpler as far as being dropped off and not having to worry about finding a parking space.”

Know what you can take into the stadium before you go

Mendez suggests reviewing the stadium’s clear bag policy and the list of prohibited items, both of which you can find in our ultimate guide to the Rolling Stones at State Farm Stadium, before you head into the concert.

“There are lockers, but they fill up quickly,” Mendez says. “So just avoid the things that are not allowed in the stadium.”

That being said, he adds, be careful about leaving valuables in your car.

“When it comes to stealing or taking things out of vehicles, a lot of times these criminals seek crimes of opportunity,” he says. “And what I mean by that is unsecured vehicles, objects in plain sight, things like that.”

If you plan on drinking at the Rolling Stones, don't plan on driving

Mendez also encourages fans who like to drink to have a plan in place for getting home.

“Obviously with any event like this, there’s gonna be drinking,” he says. “It’s not worth it to even question if you’re good enough to drive or not. Just don’t do it. Make those plans to get home safely, whether it’s using rideshare or taxi services or even just having a designated driver.”

The Moscow Kremlin

The State Historical Museum

Ivan Zabelin, Aleksey Uvarov, and several other Slavophiles founded the State Historical Museum in 1872 to promote Russian history and national self-awareness. During its century-long history, the museum has collected more than 4.5 million of valuable items and over 12 million pages of documental archives. Its exhibitions range from relics of prehistoric tribes that lived in the territory of present-day Russia, through priceless artworks acquired by members of the Romanov dynasty. The museum’s historical building which was reconstructed and equipped to meet all the visitors requirements is on the Red Square.

The State Tretyakov Gallery

The State Tretyakov Gallery takes a special place among the national art museums of the world. The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts is one the largest European museums of fine art. The Moscow Planetarium

The Planetarium in Moscow first opened its doors in 1929. After a global reconstruction, it was reopened in 2011. Lumiere Brothers Photography Center

The Manezh was built in 1817 in honor of the 5th anniversary of Russia’s victory in the 1812 war. Then it was called «Exerzierhaus», building, intended for military drills. The building has the unique construction – wooden structure trusses overlap the space of 44.86 square meters without any intermediate supports. After 1917, Manezh served as a garage for government vehicles. And since 1957 it has been continuously used for exhibitions and public events. In 2004, the building was severely damaged by fire. Renovated in 2005 the Manezh doubled its area. Nowadays it is one of the leading Moscow exhibition halls. There are two exhibition spaces, a conference room and a cafe on the third-floor observation deck. The Manezh hosts numerous fairs, festivals, and exhibitions.

Ana gabriel celebra 50 años de exitosa carrera y anuncia el paso de su gira por estados unidos y canadá con “un deseo más tour 2024” de la mano de cmn.

Con más de 24 ciudades confirmadas, La Luna de América, Ana Gabriel anuncia el paso de su gira “UN DESEO MÁS TOUR 2024” por Estados Unidos y Canadá, una vez más bajo la plataforma global de la compañía latina líder de entretenimiento en vivo CMN.

Tras el rotundo éxito de “Por Amor a Ustedes World Tour” en el 2023, la multipremiada cantautora mexicana Ana Gabriel cumple 50 Años de carrera artística con “UN DESEO MÁS TOUR 2024” , con el que desde inicios de este año ha conquistado varias ciudades de México y Latinoamérica; y ahora se prepara para su paso por más de 25 ciudades de Estados Unidos y Canadá a partir del mes de septiembre.

Esta nueva gira llega, una vez más, de la mano de la compañía latina líder de entretenimiento en vivo CMN, quienes prometen como siempre un espectáculo inolvidable a la altura de la imponente trayectoria artística de Ana Gabriel, reconocida recientemente por Billboard como Leyenda Viviente en la música latina, con más de 30 álbumes grabados, más de 20 de sus éxitos posicionados en el Top 10 de la lista Hot Latin Songs de Billboard , incluyendo seis impresionantes Números 1 y convirtiéndose además en una de las artistas hispanas más taquilleras a nivel mundial.  

La gira por Norteamérica “UN DESEO MÁS TOUR 2024” , comienza el 13 de septiembre en el Prudential Center de Newark, Nj y se paseará por sus principales arenas hasta el 30 de noviembre con un gran cierre de gira en el Kaseya Center de Miami, donde la intérprete de “Cosas del Amor”, “Evidencias”, “Hechizo”, entre otros tantos hits, seguirá llenando de amor y buena música a sus fieles seguidores quienes podrán disfrutar de sus mejores éxitos.  

Ana Gabriel inició la primera parte de la gira en su natal México con más de 15 conciertos desbordados de emociones con sus muy amados fans que reafirman una y otra vez que la Luna de América sí es profeta en su tierra. Todo esto lo compartió la artista a través de su cuenta invitando a sus nuevas fechas en el Cono Sur y ahora en Norteamérica “ acompáñenme en esta Aventura de 50, si, de 50, y así, poder abrazarlos de nuevo con mi música, ese es mi deseo y mi anhelo más grande. Y Será Para Siempre”.

With more than 24 confirmed cities, The Moon of America, Ana Gabriel, announces the passage of her tour "UN DESEO MÁS TOUR 2024" through the United States and Canada, once again under the global platform of the leading Latin entertainment company CMN.

Following the resounding success of "Por Amor a Ustedes World Tour" in 2023, the multi-award-winning Mexican singer-songwriter Ana Gabriel celebrates 50 years of an artistic career with "UN DESEO MÁS TOUR 2024", with which she has conquered several cities in Mexico and Latin America since the beginning of this year, and now she is preparing for her tour through more than 25 cities in the United States and Canada starting in September.

This new tour comes once again hand in hand with the leading Latin entertainment company CMN, who as always promises an unforgettable show at the level of Ana Gabriel's imposing artistic career, recently recognized by Billboard as a Living Legend in Latin music, with more than 30 albums recorded, more than 20 of her hits positioned in the Top 10 of Billboard's Hot Latin Songs list, including six impressive Number 1's and also becoming one of the highest-grossing Hispanic artists worldwide.

The North American tour "UN DESEO MÁS TOUR 2024" begins on September 13 at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, and will visit its main arenas until November 30 with a great tour finale at the Kaseya Center in Miami, where the interpreter of "Cosas del Amor," "Evidencias," "Hechizo," among other hits, will continue to fill her loyal followers with love and good music who will be able to enjoy her best hits.

Ana Gabriel started the first part of the tour in her native Mexico with more than 15 concerts overflowing with emotions with her beloved fans who reaffirm time and time again that The Moon of America is indeed a prophet in her own land. The artist shared all of this through her account inviting her fans to join her on “this adventure of 50, yes, 50, and thus, to be able to embrace them again with her music, that is my wish and my greatest desire. And It Will Be Forever".
