Travel Clinic

Make an appointment at least eight weeks before travel to ensure you get any necessary vaccines and to discuss concerns about allergies and preventing illness while abroad. Call 803-777-9511.

Schedule an Appointment

See us at least eight weeks before travel. If you schedule an appointment fewer than eight weeks out, we may not have time to give you all rounds of required vaccines. Call 803-777-1546.

Bring Your Forms

You'll need to update your immunization record in MyHealthSpace if you haven't already and a completed travel questionnaire [pdf].

In addition to vaccinations which can be administered during your appointment, prescription medications such as malaria prophylaxis may be required for some destinations. Your travel clinic nurse will coordinate any necessary visits with a medical provider during your travel consultation.

We charge a fee for Travel Clinic visits. Your fee will depend on your consultation and the number of vaccines needed.

DHEC is Restructuring

On July 1, 2024, the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) becomes two separate agencies — the South Carolina Departments of Environmental Services (SCDES) and Public Health (DPH). International travel vaccines, what vaccines are needed for international travel  .

Immunization recommendations vary by country. To find the most up to date recommendations, go to CDC's Travelers' Health website and search by your destination country. In addition, it is recommended that you be up to date with routine immunizations, including the flu vaccine. Talk to your health care provider, pharmacist or local health department about whether you are up to date.  

Where Can I get Travel Vaccines?  

DHEC does not provide travel vaccine clinics. Search an up-to-date list of Yellow Fever Vaccination Clinics in South Carolina . These clinics usually provide other travel vaccines as well.

Infectious Diseases and International Travel Health – International Travel Clinic

Travel to some countries can put a traveler at risk of diseases. Before visiting countries where mosquito control, water and sewer systems, and general hygiene differ from those in the United States, it is wise to take some precautionary measures.

Providers in our International Travelers Clinic will evaluate the country-specific health risks, prescribe medications, and administer immunizations to ensure, to the greatest extent possible, your safe travel abroad. Utilizing the most up to date resources, we match prevention with your destination country or region.

The clinic is a North Carolina State Department of Health-designated center for the FDA-approved yellow fever vaccine.

During Your Visit

Services provided in the travel clinic include (but not limited to):

• Immunizations for vaccine preventable diseases
• Medication for prevention of malaria, as appropriate for the planned itinerary
• Counseling regarding specific measures for prevention of insect-borne diseases, food and water borne disease; medications for travelers’ diarrhea, motion sickness, and altitude sickness, if necessary
• Advice regarding health related risks and prevention for the planned itinerary
• Post travel evaluation

Scheduling an Appointment

We recommend calling for an appointment 6-8 weeks in advance of departure, whenever possible. When this is not possible, we will attempt to meet the travelers’ needs. Travelers are advised to bring vaccination records to the clinic visit.

I first went but wasn't expecting much since no one else was able to help my hip and lower back pain. Dr. Armaly gets right to the point with his questions and I immediately felt better. I went consistently for a few weeks, months and now only need to go occasionally when I overdo it. Dr.Armaly is so caring and just a good person. I am grateful for his help.

Dr. Armaly is amazing, kind, and very knowledgeable! He knows the body like no other, he is very in-tune with muscles. Every time I have gone in I leave with NO pain! When I realized that I needed chiropractic care, I knew that I needed the best. I needed a forward thinker that had experienced.
