The shuttle bus drop-off/pick-up point is Plaza de España , the city’s main and largest square. The ride takes only a few minutes. Taxis are also available on the pier outside of the ship, however, there may be a limited number of them.

In 2016, a new cruise ship terminal was inaugurated only a 5-minute walk from the city center. It is located at Muelle Norte quay, and features a 395 m berth and the largest cruise terminal building in the Canaries, with a huge check-in hall with 50 desks, a large waiting hall, and parking for buses and taxi ranks. 2. Playa de las Teresitas

The beaches in Tenerife are known for their black volcanic and golden sands and crystal clear turquoise waters. Las Teresitas Beach is Santa Cruz de Tenerife’s most popular beach and one of the most visited beaches on the island. It is nestled along the northeastern coast near the town of San Andrés, approximately 10 km/6.5 miles (a 15-minute drive) from the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

This breathtaking beach stretches 1.5 km along the coast and is lined with palm trees and large parking. The beach is man-made and boasts silky golden sands imported from the Sahara desert in Africa. Due to its incredible beauty, great facilities (toilets, showers, changing rooms, accessible walkways, boat rentals, chairs, umbrellas, hammocks, eateries and beach clubs), and proximity to Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the beach is extremely popular with both tourists and locals. It can get very crowded in the summer months and on weekends. If you plan to go shopping, you can visit the little town of San Andrés located right next to the beach.

You can access Playa de Las Teresitas by car, bus (line #910 from the main bus station or Plaza de España), or taxi. Cruise lines normally offer shore excursions to Las Teresitas beach (transfer options), however, I suggest you take a taxi if you travel with a group as it’s going to be cheaper.

3. Mount Teide

Probably one of the most impressive sites to visit in the Canary Islands is Mount Teide, home to Spain’s highest peak (3,715 m/12,188 ft) and the third-highest volcano in the world. This UNESCO World Heritage Site and geological wonder is part of Teide National Park (Parque Nacional del Teide) which covers an area of around 18,900 hectares in the municipality of La Orotava.

The jaw-dropping landscapes made up of rugged lava fields, ancient calderas, and volcanic peaks will take you back to another dimension and make you experience Mars on Earth. Teide’s most recent eruption took place in late 1909 and the volcano is still considered active.

Mount Teide

Mount Teide is located approximately a 1-hour 30-minute drive from the port of Tenerife, however, already after a 45-minute drive you’ll access the entrance to the national park. I suggest you visit the park on a guided shore excursion because the drive through the park itself may take hours. Guided tours usually stop at different points of interest in the park, such as the Roque Cinchado – a 27-meter-high volcanic rock pillar and the most photographed rock formation in the park.

Teide Cable Car station is available at the foot of the mountain and it’s possible to take a cable car to the top. However, don’t be disappointed if it’s canceled last minute for safety reasons, due to the strong winds.

4. Loro Park

This fantastic animal adventure park ranks among the top-rated zoos on the planet. It is located on the outskirts of Puerto de la Cruz, about 42 km/26 miles (a 40-minute drive) southwest of Tenerife port. Originally conceived as a parrot reserve (“Loro Parque” means “parrot park” in Spanish), Loro Park has developed into a 13.5-hectare (33 acres) facility that is home to over 400 animal species. Some of these species include dolphins, sea lions, gorillas, otters, red pandas, alligators, penguins, tigers, chimpanzees, sloths, and many more.

The park is famous for being home to 5 orcas and is the second place in Europe to house killer whales! In the park, you can join spectacular orca shows, dolphin shows hosted in Europe’s largest dolphin show pool, and the world’s largest indoor penguin exhibition. Don’t miss visiting the impressive collection of birds, the aquarium, and the longest shark tunnel in Europe!

Alternatively, you can take a taxi which is a convenient and cheaper option if you travel in a group or with a family. On the official Loro Parque webpage, you can find timetables, prices, and a map of the park: https://www.loroparque.com/

Plaza del Adelantado is the main square of the city, while those of you who look for authentic tastes can visit La Laguna Market or one of the many tapas bars. 10 Best Things To Do in Los Gigantes, Tenerife

things to do los gigantes tenerife

Los Gigantes - famous for its majestic cliffs, is a quaint and charming seaside town on the island of Tenerife.

It is situated on the west coast of the island, but it still enjoys beautiful weather all year round, similar to the southern resorts like Costa Adeje, Playa las Americas and Los Cristianos.

What to do in Los Gigantes - Best places to visit

1. visit the beach in los gigantes (los guios beach), 2. enjoy a meal or a drink at one of the restaurants in marina los gigantes, 3. whale-watching cruise by sailboat from los gigantes , 4. enjoy a day by the pool at tipsy terrace, 5. admire the view from mirador archipenque, 6. walk from los gigantes to puerto de santiago (or even to alcala), 7. dolphin & whale watching cruise with swimming by flipper uno, 8. plaza la bouganvilla, 9. the (un)popular natural pool in los gigantes, 10. get a tan on playa la arena.

The town has grown in popularity during the past years, evolving from a place where people only stopped for a few moments to admire the amazing cliffs, to a place where visitors actually come to spend their holidays in Tenerife.

Los Gigantes is ideal for a chilled and relaxing holiday, as opposed to Costa Adeje , Playa Fanabe, Playa de Las Americas ,  and the more party oriented resorts.

Barcelo Santiago and Be Live Family Costa los Gigantes are the most popular hotels in the area, if you're looking for a place to stay .

playa los gigantes beach

Los Guios Beach is a black sand beach and it offers great views of the cliffs. Unfortunately, due to the height of the cliffs, the beach doesn't get much sun in the morning, but it's great just after 12 or 1 PM.

marina los gigantes what to do

If you fancy a meal with a view towards the marina and the beautiful boats, pop into one of the restaurants and enjoy lunch while admiring the view.

dolphins tenerife canary islands

The port of Los Gigantes is ideal for a boat trip to watch the dolphins and the whales along the coast of Tenerife. You can see these majestic creatures in their natural environment, all while enjoying a drink and the food that is also included in the price of the boat trip.

  • Time to swim and snorkel
  • Fresh fruit, home-made sandwiches (vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options) & Beverages, including cava, white and red wine, beer and soft drinks
  • 3-hour whale-watching cruise and time to swim and snorkel

Up until a few years ago, visitors to Los Gigantes had two choices in regard to heated pools, but nowadays both Oasis and Piscina El Laguillo are closed, with no plans of reopening unless someone decides to buy the Oasis pool which is currently up for sale.

So if you're staying in Los Gigantes in an apartment that doesn't offer access to a pool and you don't want to go to the beach either, our suggestion is to spend the day at Tipsy Terrace Bar & Bistro Los Gigantes - the price for a sunbed and access to the pool all day costs around €6 which is great and it's a fun way to spend the day.

Playa los gigantes beach

If you want to get the best view of Los Gigantes cliffs, Mirador Archipenque is the place to go. You get an overview of the town, as well as a view of the cliffs and the best thing is you can buy a souvenir here and even drink a cup of coffee while taking in the view. We know that by the time you're reading this you're probably already tired of us talking about the view, but this is truly one of the most stunning landscapes in Tenerife. Also, this mirador is among the best viewpoints in Tenerife in our opinion, so make sure not to skip it.

Teide tenerife 600 250

If you fancy a day with a bit of a walk, you can go over to Puerto de Santiago , which is the neighboring town. There are some lovely restaurants and bars along the way so there's no need to rush. Since this part of the coast is quite hilly and full of ups and downs, you'll need to hydrate yourself along the way anyhow.

Read more about things to do in Puerto de Santiago .

Marvel at dolphins and whales on this relaxing cruise from Los Gigantes. Dive into turquoise waters, sip on a cool drink as you cruise by majestic cliffs, and explore the Teno-Rasca Whale Sanctuary.

A typical Spanish square with a white church and a few lovely bars and restaurants where you can grab something to eat or simply enjoy a coffee or a beer in the sun.

The square has a very nice atmosphere and it's also a safe place for children to run around and play while the adults enjoy a well-deserved cocktail.

los gigantes natural pool

The natural pool in Los Gigantes is located in a beautiful natural setting and many people like to come here to swim and relax, but it can also be quite dangerous, so be very careful.

Keep in mind that the pool can be very dangerous and many people have died here over the years and many more have had to be rescued by helicopter after the waves have swept them in the ocean while sitting on the walls of the pool.

Don't go in the pool when there are big waves or the weather is generally bad because a lot of tragedies have happened here over the years. In 2017, two people drowned here after a giant wave swept them away from the pool.

We don't want to put you off from visiting this place; we only want to stress the fact that you need to be careful if you decide to swim in this natural pool in Los Gigantes. Unfortunately, a lot of tragedies have happened here and the currents in this part of the island are quite dangerous and strong and tourists often go in without being aware of the danger.

Personally, we never went in to swim in this pool, although we often walk in this area because we like the landscape and the promenade, which is enough for us.

playa la arena tenerife puerto santiago

Situated in Puerto de Santiago, Playa la Arena is one of the most attractive beaches in Tenerife , which has been rewarded with the Blue Flag distinction since the '80s.

Although the sea is usually not ideal for swimming, the beach is quite lovely, with palm trees and the black shiny sand, so a day spent here is a must if you're in the area and if you love spending time in the sun. Due to the strong currents in the area the red flag is usually up on the beach, which means that swimming is forbidden, especially during the winter months.

Puerto de Santiago, Tenerife – Things to Do & Where to Stay

Jovita

  • Updated On March 16, 2024

Located between the neighbouring resorts of Playa de la Arena and Los Gigantes, Puerto de Santiago offers the best of all three worlds for visitors who don’t mind staying in a hilly location.

The resort is characterised by whitewashed buildings that contrast beautifully with the black sandy beach . It’s a peaceful place with a relaxed atmosphere, and ideal for self-catering as there are a couple of large supermarkets.

It has a small local Blue Flag beach, as well as the bigger one in Playa de la Arena that’s just 10 minutes’ walk away. There is a range of bars, restaurants and cafes to choose from too.

If you want to access the facilities of several resorts, while staying in a central yet quiet part of the coast, Puerto de Santiago in western Tenerife could make the perfect holiday destination.

Table of Contents

Weather in Puerto de Santiago

The western coast of Tenerife and particularly the area around Los Gigantes and Puerto de Santiago is considered to be the warmest place in the whole of Tenerife. It’s spring-like or summery weather all year round. Even those who visit in the European winter months of December, January , and February can expect lots of sunshine and many days good not only for sunbathing but also for swimming in the ocean.

Rain is also a rare guest here. We lived in Puerto de Santiago for almost a year and I can count on my fingers the number of rainy days we encountered. Even if it was raining or cloudy, let’s say, in Playa de Las Americas , it was sunny here.

Basically, you can expect the weather to be hot (around 30°) during summer and nice and warm in winter (the temperature rarely drops below 20° during the day). Short sleeves will be fine most of the winter days with a jacket needed in the evenings.

Things to do in Puerto de Santiago

Wander along the coastal path.

The coastal walk is easily accessed from Puerto de Santiago, and connects the resort with Los Gigantes and Playa de la Arena. Head north and you can be in Los Gigantes in only 20 minutes, or meander southwards to reach Playa de la Arena and then the local village of Alcala .

The coastal path from Puerto de Santiago

On Mondays, Alcala has a bustling market that’s open between 9 AM and 2 PM. If you decide to take it easy on the way back, you can travel by taxi at a cost of around 8 Euros – or catch a bus. Routes 473 and 477 run regularly between the three resorts (more about them later in the article).

Swim and Soak up the Sun at the Beach

Sun-worshippers have three local beaches to choose from – one in Playa de Santiago, one in Los Gigantes to the north and one in Playa de la Arena to the south. They all feature Tenerife’s distinctive black volcanic sand.

Playa de Santiago or Playa Chica

This small, black sandy beach is popular with locals, but can easily become crowded due to its limited size. There is also a lack of amenities. Most visitors tend to prefer the beaches in Playa de la Arena and Los Gigantes.

Location: Google Maps

A small black sand Playa Chica beach in Tenerife

Playa de la Arena

Playa de la Arena’s black sand, palm-fringed beach is one of Tenerife’s finest. Ultra clean, it has held Blue Flag status for several decades. This beach is ideal for all types of travellers, including families. Close by you’ll find a variety of places for drinks, snacks and main meals. Parasols and sun loungers can also be rented. During periods of peak demand, this beach may become a little crowded, because it’s, without a doubt, the best beach in the area.

You can access Playa de la Arena beach by foot or via buses 473 and 477 from Puerto de Santiago.

Drone shot of playa de la Arena in Tenerife

Los Gigantes Beach or Playa de los Guios

This is definitely the most picturesque beach in the area and one of the most beautiful ones on the island . Positioned right at the foot of the famous Los Gigantes cliffs, this beach is under 200 metres long and has all the amenities you need.

boat trips from puerto de santiago tenerife

Because of the cliffs, the beach is shaded in the mornings but is sunny by the time afternoon arrives. Leave a car in the paid parking lot at the harbour ( location ). Or use buses 473 and 477 to come here from Puerto de Santiago. You can also come on foot but keep in mind that you’ll have to walk uphill on your way back.

Sample a Saltwater Swimming Pool

Tenerife is famous for its swimming pools that are carved from rock and fed by saltwater. Piscina Natural Acantilado De Los Gigantes is positioned just below the Barceló Santiago hotel, in the area where Puerto de Santiago meets Los Gigantes ( location ). Taking a dip on this large, natural pool can be a most memorable experience.

boat trips from puerto de santiago tenerife

Additional protection from the surf and spray has been built in by means of human intervention, but visitors should still take great care. Beach shoes are essential and the rocky, uneven bottom can get very slippery. Walking on the stones in bare feet can also cause discomfort. During wilder weather conditions, the waves can also be dangerous. Those who don’t want to swim can simply sit back and soak up the stunning ocean views instead.

Pleasing Panoramas from the Mirador Archipenque

Head north into Los Gigantes before taking an uphill walk to reach Mirador Archipenque ( location ), the local viewpoint. Your efforts will be rewarded by breathtaking views over the ocean – and the famous Los Gigantes cliffs. Once you arrive at the lookout, there is a cafe selling drinks and snacks to savour while taking in the incomparable views.

Take a Short Trip to Los Gigantes

The neighbouring town of Los Gigantes is a great place to spend a morning, afternoon, evening or entire day. This is the largest and best-known of the three resorts, and it has an appealing, boat-lined harbour as well as the towering cliffs it is famous for. Many visitors like to enjoy a snack, drink or meal at one of the cafes or restaurants here.

Los Gigantes harbour and towering cliffs behind

Boat trips can also be taken from the harbour, and lucky visitors may have the chance to see whales or dolphins. Food and beverages are provided on board and guests may wish to take a refreshing dip in the sea, as the towering cliffs loom above. You can discover more about Los Gigantes in our guide or check out our most recommended whale-watching cruise .

Explore Magical Masca

The small mountain village of Masca makes a great day trip destination for those staying in Puerto de Santiago. It’s one of the best places to visit in Tenerife .

In the past, most visitors descended on this tiny settlement to hike, but this is now more of a challenge as boats have been banned. This means those who wish to take to the trails must now hike back up, as well as down towards the sea.

Nevertheless, this remains a very popular spot and can still become crowded. It’s well worth the effort, due to the stunning natural scenery. Masca’s landscape is characterised by mountains, forest trails, waterfalls and rugged terrain. It is a magical place, abundant in local flora and wildlife. Travellers can also enjoy lunch at one of the local restaurants.

The small mountain village of Masca

How to get to Masca

To reach Masca from Puerto de Santiago, take a bus numbered 325 , 461 or 462 towards Santiago Del Teide. Change here, boarding bus route 355 to Masca. You can find out more about transport options later in this article.

It is possible to get to Masca by hire car, but this is not for the faint-hearted due to the steep, narrow roads with hairpin ends. Taking a taxi is also an option, as a local driver will be familiar and comfortable with the route. This should cost about 60 Euros, and you can expect the driver to wait for a few hours while you explore Masca.

See Sunset over the Ocean at Fisherman’s Inn

There’s something incredibly special about watching the sun sink in the sky with the waters of the ocean rippling beneath – and there’s no better place to witness this natural spectacle than at the F isherm an’s Inn .

This local eatery serves up a small but beautiful range of freshly cooked dishes that are bursting with flavour and colour. Offering a warm welcome, this Puerto de Santiago restaurant specialises in Mediterranean, international and seafood dishes – and the sublime views are outstanding.

Taste-test more of Puerto de Santiago’s best restaurants

Make sure you book as early as possible if you want to sample the delicious food served at La Pergola. Previous happy diners describe this place as ‘perfect’, ‘amazing’ and ‘fantastic’, with a ‘beautiful’ and ‘stunning’ setting. A range of artfully presented international dishes are served, and there are good vegetarian and vegan options offered.

If you hanker after some pizza or pasta when on holiday, Domu Mia is the place for you. Located on Calla Angeles, this Italian-style eatery offers the complete experience – checked tablecloths and red and green decor included. The pizzas are so good that even kids have been known to devour the freshly-baked crust. A must for pasta and pizza lovers, and well worth straying away from the seafront for.

Keen carnivores in particular will love Casa Edu, where barbecued meat and Spanish-style dishes are the order of the day. Diners really rate the steaks, pork chops and garlic prawns – as well as Canarian potatoes, an island speciality. Huge portions also add to the appeal, although it’s probably not the best destination for vegetarian holidaymakers.

Best Places to Stay

While many of the best Puerto de Santiago hotels are covered in a separate article about accommodation in the Los Gigantes area, you can find some of our local favourites right here. If you want to be based in Puerto de Santiago, here are our top recommendations.

BEST – Barceló Santiago

This four-star property gives guests the advantage of stunning, sweeping views over La Gomera island and the Los Gigantes cliffs. With a beach only 200 metres away, this property occupies a prime position in Puerto de Santiago.

Facilities include a spa with hot tub, sauna and Turkish bath as well as three outdoor pools. There’s also a poolside snack bar and restaurants serving buffet meals and tapas. The property offers a selection of deluxe, air-conditioned rooms, including some seaview rooms and suites.

MID-RANGE – Aparthotel Los Dragos del Sur

The Los Dragos del Sur aparthotel also offers superb coastal views and a range of amenities. All the attractions of central Puerto de Santiago are also nearby. This three star property offers free WiFi, a gym, outdoor pool, snack bar, restaurant and chill out area. There are one, two or three bedroom apartments sleeping up to five guests, each with a pool or sea view terrace, air-con, satellite TV and well-equipped kitchenette.

BUDGET – Vigilia Park

Vigilia Park occupies a hillside location in Puerto de Santiago, a little way inland. This great value property has a good range of amenities, including a rooftop pool and bar with coastal vistas. With a branch of LIDL next door, this complex is perfectly placed for self-catering holidays in one, two or three bedroom apartments with balconies. Guests also have use of a gym, children’s play park, games room, hot tub, lounge, mini golf and three outdoor pools which are heated during winter. There is also an on-site restaurant.

BACKPACKER – Arena Nest Hostel

Situated close to the beach at Playa de la Arena as well as the amenities of Puerto de Santiago, Arena Nest is a sociable and affordable place for couples, solo travellers and groups to stay. Accommodation options include shared dorms and self-contained double rooms, and it has a shared kitchen, lounge and shower rooms. The hostel provides free WiFi and hairdryers, and also has a tour desk that can assist with booking excursions and further travel.

With branches of LIDL and Mercadona, Puerto de Santiago is a great location for a self-catering break. Having these close by means accessing cheaper products than those typically sold in smaller, more tourist oriented shops. These big stores offer a wide variety of products – all sold at great value prices.

Getting around

Many visitors prefer to hire a car when visiting the Canary Islands. Rental cars are very affordable here and allow holidaymakers the freedom to explore other parts of Tenerife – at their own pace.

It is also perfectly possible to get around by using the local bus network. There are various bus stops around Puerto de Santiago, so you can simply hop on a bus at the stop closest to your accommodation.

Local bus routes

All buses calling at ‘T’ stops go through Quinto Centenario, Correos and Puerto de Santiago, so it doesn’t matter which one you choose. For those staying on the hill near the San Francisco bus stop, it can be a little more tricky as the best and most frequent bus routes in the area (473 and 477) do not pass there. If this is the case, take a bus numbered 325, 461 or 462 to a more central bus stop so you can then change bus.

Bus stops for the resort of Puerto Santiago

The 473 and 477 are the most frequent routes, departing every 40 minutes. They are generally the best option in the area as they can take you to Los Gigantes in the northern direction or to Los Cristianos (473) and Costa Adeje (477) when heading south. Bear in mind that the 477 is an express bus, so it can be much quicker than the 473.

You can check the current bus routes and timetables for the 473 here , or the 477 here .

Bus routes 325, 461, and 462 all travel northwards, and they are also infrequent. You may wish, however, to take the 325 if you want to visit Puerto de la Cruz – and it’s a great city to explore. Bear in mind that this trip takes 2 hours, though, and that there are only a few buses running each day. Find out more about the 325 here .

The 473 is the only bus that travels to Playa de las Americas. To visit this resort, make sure you alight at the Zentral Center bus stop. Alternatively, you could take a taxi, which will cost around 35-40 Euros.

Puerto de Santiago to Siam Park

A taxi to Siam Park will cost around 35-40 Euros, each way. Alternatively, buses 473 and 477 travel to the Costa Adeje bus station (Estación Costa Adeje T). From there, the park is around 10 minutes’ walk away, or you could take a taxi. The 477 is the best bet, as Costa Adeje station is the final destination on this route: the 477 is also quicker than the 473.

Or you can use the official Siam Park bus service which leaves from this area on Thursdays and Sundays. Here is the timetable . Just look for your hotel or find your way to the nearest hotel from the list. Oh, and don’t forget to purchase the ticket at the official Siam Park website beforehand.

Travelers review

boat trips from puerto de santiago tenerife

My best Day

Amazing experience

Transfer was smooth. We had so much fun in the boat also watching Dolphins and whales. Overall Very good experience

The intermidiery company

The intermidiery company that they are workiing with provided a terrible services and it really spoils the experience. The company -Tenerife trip or something like this

Excursion La Palma

The meeting point is at the Fred Olson ferry terminal. We were NOT informed that we should meet a person of GetHolyday to obtain the ferry ticket and we kept looking for someone of AtlanticoExcursiones. Without asking around we could have missed the ferry.

Completly Worth It

We have been on this tour for the second time now and are fully satisfied with Atlantico and the staff. All features promised on the Internet where held. We saw whales and dolphins in different groups on all sides of the ship. Lunch was good. So everything fine for us.

Rough Seas on board Freebird!

Started well, but only just able to secure a sunbed! Unfortunately, sea became rough and I got drenched continually on my sunbed. Had to give it up and seek shelter and warmth! No fault of the crew of course and they offer me a more sheltered sunbed for return journey, when sea was calmer! Stumbled and fell against railings when trying to get up from sunbed in rough sea, bruising my arm quite badly, but concern about safety - could have fallen through?? Although drinks were always available, choice limited to beer or soft drinks - no wine as tour rep said there would be. Food edible but nothing special and limited.

Change of hotel/pick up

I changed my hotel after arranging two excursions. One phone call to change my pick up and time worked excellently. I have used Antlantico Excursions for several years and they have never let me down

Excellent value

A must do when visiting Tenerife. Great value, booking process super easy, excursion exceeded our expectations!

Very nice????????????????

????????????????

Perfect trip. Highly recommend

Interesting experience.

Really nice trip. 3+ hours of sailing, whales watching and having one stop for swimming. Very friendly crew. And at the end we bought our nice photos taken by the crew.

satisfied customer

I was satisfied with the service, the excursions were excellent and very diverse. For me and my family personally, everything went well. Thank you very much, continue in the same spirit.

The actual experience we booked was great but I booked online and never received a confirmation email from the company. I had to chase it 3 times and despite them re sending it didn’t come through. Eventually was told I would be what’s apped the confirmation which took about an hour and I had to phone again and chase. I wouldn’t book with this company again.

Pirate ship

Excellent app everything ran like clockwork , I would highly recommend

Would 110% recommend!

We had a wonderful time with Must Cat on our catamaran whale spotting excursion, they went above and beyond to ensure an exciting trip. We were lucky enough to see lots of whales and dolphins, they swam very close to the boat too, it was amazing to see! All the crew looked after everyone really well and were very informative about the wildlife we saw and about Tenerife in general. I would highly recommend Must Cat if you want a fabulous sight seeing experience! Thank you so much for a wonderful day, I can’t want to book again!

Amazing boat trip

It was a great Dolphin and whale watching activity. The captain did his best to get us to find the Great Whale and we had an amazing time!!!

Great day out

Great boat trip highly recommended, staff very friendly. Spotted whales and dolphins too and had chance to swim in the sea, very goo value with lunch and soft drinks included although you do get a free alcoholic one with your lunch, alcoholic drinks are just 1 Euro!

Andi + Bettima

A beautiful trip with a nice boat and a friendly crew. The hotel transfer was god organized, and the trip was amazing with a lot of dolphins and pilot whales. Thank you

The organization, price and experience were perfect. The tour was very successful. I can recommend the company.

Would 100% recommend

We had a fun time. 30 min delphin show in the ocean. Not rekommend for people with seasickness.

Royal Delfin

Young pair from hungary.

We tried to clarify some detail in advance by e-mail. We never got an answer. On the other hand the excursion was excellent and a great adventure, so we were satisfied.

Wonderful tour

Peter Pan trip

Excellent experience Staff brilliant everything went according to plan pickups drop off etc. Meal was good everyone enjoyed themselves

Very enjoyable boat trip

Nice ship, very kind staff, we had a chance to see the dolphins and swim in the ocean.

Fantastic whale watching trip

Several pilot whales close by, good atmosphere, free bar (although I would recommand sticking with water...). Possibility to purchase a USB-stick with lots of actual and "best of" fotos and filmclips... Chance to swim in deep water with snorkel (free on bord). Ecological attitude (re-use your plastic cups!)... The welcome-foto should be included in the 95 € price, but as I understood, is the fotografer on bord a freelancer (somehow associated, though...). Did this tour (after one year) for the second time, mostly because of the friendly staff!

Very Nice Trip

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our day - the food was a bit limited.

Merci a toute l equipe. A bientot

Très bonne excursions

Personnel réactif et très professionnel

Perfect trip, recomended

Great moment

You could speak more about the island-river than the hotel than we can see during the travel

It was awesome! The waves were high and we was having fun. We will recomending this trip our friends !

Pleasant experience

Although the trip took less than expected, overall it was a pleasant experience - Dina (I hope I remember her name correctly) was absolutely fantastic taking care of people in need (sea sick!! :)) and especially of my little son who was the only one from our familiy not suffering of sea sick - so he was in front of the boat and the rest of us trying to cope in the back :))) The dolphins were absolutely fantastic - so I would definitely recommend it.

The 3-hour boat trip to see the whales and dolphins was great. The stuff was helpful, gave a lot of information about our trip and the best part was that the stuff was funny and with great sense of humor. The boat was big and comfortable and very clean!

Delfiny, Grindwale i Zółw

Byliśmy zachwyceni wycieczką. Na katamaranie panowała wesoła atmosfera. Zobaczyliśmy Wieloryby, delfiny i Jednego Żółwia. Polecamy.

it was really nice

Thank you for the great time, we really ejoy greatfull time in the ocean, wathing wales and dolphins

bon moment !

Three-hour whale watching ride

Positives: -Phone customer service was friendly, informed, and helpful -In-person customer service was helpful and friendly -Boat was clean and in fantastic condition -Bathroom on boat was cleanest bathroom I've ever seen on a boat -Guide on the boat was well-informed and had good energy -Saw whales and beautiful sights; learned about whales from the guide Negatives: -Sandwiches (low quality overall and did not taste good) -Morning tour started over 30 minutes late. If I could make it all the way from Tacoronte and get there by 9am, there is no reason the boat and crew should not be ready to leave by 9:40am.

DOLFIJNEN SPOTTEN

A wonderful day!

We had an amazing boat trip!!!

Bella esperienza

Highlight of our holiday

A very well planned trip. Much recommended

Realmente cara. No la recomiendo mientras mantengan ese precio.

ESPIRITU SANTO CHURCH

LOS GIGANTES

SANTIAGO DEL TEIDE

LOS GIGANTES CHURCH

boat trips from puerto de santiago tenerife

Los Gigantes

This beautiful church is situated in the Plaza Bougainvillea, Los Gigantes in the Municipality of Santiago Del Teide.

It has modern stained glass windows, a large painting behind the altar depicting the Disciples (some known residents of Los Gigantes). Inset into the walls are three dimensional representations of the Stations of the Cross.

Address: Pje. Acacia, 27, 38683 Santiago del Teide, Santa Cruz de Tenerife

Click here for Google Maps with the church highlighted.

The official opening of the church was in May 1997 by the Roman Catholic Bishop of Tenerife. It is now shared for worship by both Roman Catholics and Anglicans. The church is open to visitors daily with Anglican services on

Thursdays at 10.30 am and Sundays at 6pm throughout the year.

Following the Thursday morning service we meet for fellowship in one of the local cafes.

Nestling in the popular town is this quaint church. A plethora of bars and eateries can be found in the vicinity, some with views of the church. Giant rock formations rise from the sea to a height of 500-800 metres, and exhilarating coastal walks offer incredible views. Boat trips are available from the nearby harbour, to marvel at the whales and dolphins, and various water-sports are also on offer

ESPIRITU SANTO CHURCH, LOS GIGANTES.

How to get there.

boat trips from puerto de santiago tenerife

From Autopista TF-1:

Travelling north with the sea on your left, take the exit marked San Juan, Alcala, Puerto de Santiago, Los Gigantes, taking a left which will lead you down a long hill, about 6 kms. At the bottom at the roundabout, turn right, followthe signs to Puerto de Santiago and Los Gigantes passing through the village of Alcala and continue some 4 kms until you come to the second roundabout just after the police and fire stations (Bomberos), on your left. Turn left. At the 4th sharp bend fork right (taking you effectively straight ahead), and then bear left into the one-way system which will take you down to Los Gigantes. At the bottom of the hill turn right.

You have arrived in Los Gigantes.

If you are able to park on the road on which you are travelling you need to pay at a machine (you can return to the machine to get your money back when you are ready to leave!). However, parking is free in the evenings, Sundays and public holidays. Many people park on one of the side streets which are unrestricted. The church is situated in the main square and is very easy to find, opposite the shops, cafes, banks etc.

If you are travelling from Armeñime, Playa Paraiso, Callao Salvaje or San Juan:

You take the TF-47 in the direction of Puerto de Santiago and Los Gigantes (i.e. north with the sea on your left). When you get to Alcala, the directions are as above.
