Over the past few years, rangefinders have become all the rage amongst golfers.

The PGA of America even made rangefinders legal in all three of its major championships back in May of 2021 . The move was made by the governing body with the hopes of speeding up the pace of play on the golf course at these events.

I’ve been playing golf for several years and I’ll be the first to admit that I was slow to come around to using a rangefinder during my rounds. However, when I purchased my last set of golf clubs, the salesman kindly threw in a Bushnell Tour V4 rangefinder as part of the deal. Now I don’t know how I ever played a round of golf without it!

Overall Rating and Thoughts: 4.9/5

Bushnell has converted me into a customer for life. While I used to think rangefinders were overpriced and unnecessary, I now don’t know how I ever played a round of golf without one! If you are on the fence about which rangefinder to buy, I highly recommend the Bushnell Tour V4 Slope Edition.

Overall, I’d give the Bushnell Tour V4 rangefinder 4.9 out of 5 stars for a variety of reasons. It’s insanely accurate and I love the Jolt Technology, which vibrates a little bit when you have locked on to the flag. This gives me peace of mind that I have aimed the laser in the correct spot.

Bushnell Tour V4 Slope Laser Rangefinder

The slope option is incredibly helpful because it factors in the degrees of slope for you, which tells you what the shot is actually playing. This makes a huge difference in the way of club selection. After all, most golf shots have some sort of slope involved.

If you are not a fan of the slope technology and just want the actual distance or you are playing in a tournament that doesn’t allow it, you can easily shift between modes by rotating the small notch dial on top. Again, Bushnell hits a home run with this feature.

I also love how the Bushnell Tour V4 rangefinder fits comfortably into the palm of my hand. It was designed with stabi-grip technology, which means it won’t slip out of your hand and it’s easy to handle. It’s also lightweight, so your arm and hand won’t get tired of holding it during a round.

Lastly, Bushnell is the most reputable rangefinder brand on the market. Tons of professional and amateur golfers around the world trust Bushnell to give them accurate yardage readings. If you’re in the market for a new rangefinder, you can’t go wrong with the Bushnell Tour V4 Slope Edition.

Quick Overview of the Bushnell Tour V4

Bushnell has been making top-of-the-line rangefinders for over 25 years, so they have stood the test of time in the golf industry. The Tour V4 was first released in 2016 and it remains one of Bushnell’s best-selling rangefinders, even though the Tour V5 has been out for quite a while. The Slope Edition lets you toggle in and out of Bushnell’s special slope feature, which automatically adjusts its yardage based on the incline or decline of the slope.

The Tour V4 provides pinpoint accuracy and gives you a yardage number that you can be confident in each time you use it on the golf course. It also comes with Pin Seeker Jolt technology, which sends short vibrating pulses when you have correctly shot the laser to the flag. With the Tour V4’s 5x magnification, you’ll easily be able to see all of the key details of each green on the course.

What I Like About The Bushnell Tour V4

Since the Tour V4 has so many key features, it’s hard to decide which ones I value the most. However, here are some of my favorite things about this particular Bushnell rangefinder. These are in no particular order.

  • Pinpoint Accuracy: Before using the Tour V4, I simply used a standard golf GPS app on my phone. While this worked okay to give me ballpark yardage on each of my shots, I quickly learned that the yardage it gave me was regularly three to five yards off the actual distance. I’ve never had this problem with the Tour V4 because its accuracy is always within 1-yard. It’s so refreshing to not have to second guess my club selection anymore!
  • Pin Seeker with Jolt Technology: This is probably my favorite feature of the Bushnell Tour V4 rangefinder! With other brands, you may be left wondering if you correctly aimed the laser at the target. This is NOT the case with the Tour V4 thanks to its Pin Seeker with Jolt feature. Simply aim at the flagstick and the device will provide you with a tactile confirmation by lightly vibrating a few times! How cool is that?
  • Fast Focus System: Some laser rangefinders or golf GPS apps can take quite a while to give you the desired yardage information. This can be due to a weak cell phone signal on a GPS app or a lengthy process on some off-brand rangefinders. Needless to say, it is super annoying when that happens! Thankfully, golfers don’t have to worry about that happening with the Bushnell Tour V4. It has a fast focus system that allows you to see your yardage number and degree of slope quickly and efficiently. No more waiting around to find your number and select your club.
  • 2-Year Warranty: Let’s face it. Finding a company that stands behind its products with a solid warranty is almost a rare thing nowadays. This warranty means if you have any trouble with the Tour V4 in the way of manufacturing defects within two years of your purchase date, Bushnell will either fix the issue or send you a new rangefinder as a replacement.
  • Compact Size: Some golf rangefinders are too bulky, which makes it difficult to keep a steady hand when trying to find out yardages. You won’t have this problem with the Tour V4. It’s a lightweight device with an ergonomic design, which makes it much easier to hold than other brands. Your thumb will easily wrap around the entire device and you’ll be able to easily hit the red button on top to start shooting yardages.
  • Slope Mode: Being able to calculate the slope of each green is a remarkable advantage for amateur golfers. Thanks to the Tour V4’s ability to tell me the degrees of slope, I can decide the safest approach shot based on the hole layouts. This has helped me lower my handicap considerably.
  • Water Resistant: This one is a biggie for me because, unlike some other golfers, I like playing in the rain (I know, I’m weird). The Tour V4 is water-resistant so you can use it without fear of damaging it. However, just to be on the safe side, I wouldn’t use it in a complete downpour though, as it’s not waterproof (only water-resistant). Be sure to keep the rangefinder in its premium carrying case when you aren’t using it.
  • Access to Bushnell Golf App: Golfers of all levels will love the Bushnell Golf mobile app because of its helpful features. The app offers 3D flyovers of each hole as well as yardages to the front, to the flag, and to the back of the green. The app currently has a 4.8 rating on the App Store and a 3.9 rating on Google Play. Both of those impressive ratings just go to show that Bushnell spared no expense when it came to designing its mobile golf app.
  • Extremely Long Battery Life: Another critical feature of the Tour V4 is its battery life. I’ve been using this rangefinder for over a year and haven’t needed to replace the battery. It takes a 3-volt lithium cr2 battery, which is easy to find at most shopping outlets. The battery door also easily slides open to make the whole replacement process a breeze.

What I Dislike About The Bushnell Tour V4

There’s not a whole lot to dislike about the Tour V4. The only complaint I have is that it doesn’t come with a magnet on it, which would make it easier to mount it on the side of the golf cart during a round. This would be much more convenient than having to take it in and out of the carry case throughout the entire round on the course.

However, I have heard that the new Bushnell Tour V5 comes with its new BITE magnetic technology, which allows you to just slap it on the side of the golf cart rails. It would probably be pretty easy to just slap a small magnet on the side of the Tour V4 though.

Pin seeker with jolt Technology provides you with short Vibrating bursts to reinforce the laser has laced onto the flag. Patented slope Technology provides compensated distance based on the incline or decline of the hole. Accurately ranges from 5 to 1,000 yards and 400+ yards to a flag within one yard.

The Bushnell Tour V4 Slope laser rangefinder is easy to use, accurate, and compact.

Introduction

Over the last couple years, manufacturers have struggled to figure out how to improve on their rangefinders.  The accuracy and speed has gotten so good that any improvements are marginal.  With the Tour V4 Slope, Bushnell decided to go forward by going backward: they focused on ease of use over packing in unnecessary features.

bushnell-tour-v4-slope-laser-rangefinder_0026

Setup & Ease of Use

Insert battery.  Push button.  Done deal.  Like all the best laser rangefinders, the V4 Slope requires no set up and is very easy to use .

Though there is only one button on the Tour V4 Slope, there are four modes: yards with and without slope and meters with and without slope.  The ability to turn off slope is important as it makes the Tour V4 Slope tournament legal.

bushnell-tour-v4-slope-laser-rangefinder_0024

Accuracy & Performance

At this point in the evolution of rangefinders, it would be a story if something wasn’t accurate to a yard.  There’s no news here: the Tour V4 Slope is as accurate as advertised .  Distances are displayed to the tenth of a yard above the distance-adjusted number.

The Tour V4 Slope also has Bushnell’s signature JOLT Technology – a gentle shake when the laser locks onto the flag.  This seemed silly to me until I used it.  While it’s not a game changer, it is a nice way of letting you know that you have the perfect yardage.

Finally, the Tour V4 Slope is smaller than previous generations .  While I wouldn’t complain about it being slightly larger, I think Bushnell did a good job finding a size that’s compact without going too far.  Even in my larger-than-average hands, the Tour V4 is very usable.

The Bushnell Tour V4 Slope rangefinder can be found at retail for $350 or less (support PluggedInGolf, buy it HERE ).  This is on par with other similar laser rangefinders, and it includes the expected accessories: a carrying case and a battery.  The Patriot Pack also includes a “skin” that wraps round the laser.

bushnell-tour-v4-slope-laser-rangefinder_0020

Overall, the Bushnell Tour V4 Slope rangefinder is a very solid offering from the company with the most rangefinders on Tour.  It’s small, extremely easy to use, and, most importantly, very accurate.

Bushnell Tour V4 Review – Rangefinder Revolution?

Bushnell Tour V4

The Bushnell Tour V4 was introduced to replace its predecessor, Bushnell Tour V3. The new model is significantly smaller and comes with a redesigned and easy-to-use focus ring. The new device weighs about 30 % less compared to the weight of the previous model. It has a unit with a contoured design and rough dripping pads to give you a secure and firm grip. The manufacturer has provided the V4 rangefinder a new and sporty look while maintaining its professional look. This is one argument among many that makes the V4 a compact and great-looking device. Learn more in our review Bushnell Tour V4 :

Bushnell Tour V4 Jolt

The Tour V4 is one of the market leading laser rangefinders that comes in standard jolt technology version - Tour V4 Jolt - as well as a version with slope feature, called the Tour V4 Slope.

What first impression does the bushnell tour v4 create, what are the pros, what are the cons, standard features for the bushnell tour v4, can i use the tour v4 for a tournament, do buyers get a warranty for the bushnell tour v4 rangefinder, why does my rangefinder offer readings in meters instead of yards, do i need many readings to activate the jolt when using the bushnell tour v4, is the bushnell tour v4 waterproof, is the tour v4 rangefinder suitable for professionals, final thoughts on the bushnell tour v4.

After entering the market, the Bushnell Tour V4 has fast become one of the best-selling golf laser rangefinders . Although the Bushnell Tour V4 does not feature slope in the standard setup, you can find the feature in the Bushnell Tour V4 Slope version . This is because the USGA allowed rangefinders with slope to be used in tournament play if the slopes are turned off, which led to development of the Tour V4 slope. This great rangefinder utilizes PinSeeker and JOLT technology to do away with any doubts that you might have had when trying to get to lock your golf laser rangefinder onto the flag of the hole you're playing. The vibrating feedback once the rangefinder locks onto the flag was probably our favorite feature during our test and review.

Once it has locked in one the flag it gives you feedback by vibrating, which then allows you to confidently swing and know that your ball is going to fly towards the flag you want it to fly to. It promises accuracy and pleasure. With its advanced features, you will hit the flag - or better the hole than the flag - with ease. Its range is about 1,000 yards, and it is ideal for off-course. As such, you do not have to worry about one single hazard since it will help you see any obstacle on your way.

The first time you unbox the Bushnell Tour V4, it is likely to appear smaller than you may have expected. At least this is how we felt when we got ours for this review. This is because Bushnell has ensured that the V4 is a compact and lighter tool that is easy to carry around. It comes with a standard case and a quality silicone cover that provides extra protection to the device. The device is convenient for any person who prefers traveling with light bags because even with it, you will not have to break your back. As such, any golfer will find the machine easy to fit in their bags.

The device is simple to figure out, and you will find no trouble adjusting its eyepiece. The fact that it has only one button is also enticing for many people. You do not have to deal with numerous knobs or switches because it has a single button that will do all you want conveniently. Its shooting distance is quite generous, and you can be sure it will not disappoint on the golf course.

Pros & Cons

After carrying out a comprehensive Bushnell Tour V4 review, the following advantages of using it became apparent:

  • It offers a 1,000 yard range hence ideal even for off course
  • The Tour V4 is lightweight and less bulky to carry around as compared to its predecessor.
  • You enjoy fast and accurate focus when using this range finder. Its reliability is not debatable.
  • It uses PinSeeker with JOLT technology, which was not available for previous models hence a significant upgrade with this one. The jolt leads to vibration when the rangefinder locks onto the flag which is great feedback to know things are working as intended.
  • Great 5x magnification.
  • The protective case helps with peace of mind.

Here are some of the limitations of Bushnell Tour V4:

  • Users might experience some shakiness when using this one. However, don't mistake the flag lock feedback vibration for something bad.

Some of the features that are standard for this golf laser rangefinder model are:

  • It uses PinSeeker Technology. The technology is vital since it ensures users get fast distance readings to make an informed decision in time.
  • A 1,000 yard range. Few range finders can offer the 1,000 yard range. The range makes it possible for you to shoot anything since you can find it with this device.
  • Acceptable for tournament play. You no longer need to worry whether this tool is eligible for use in tournament play. The USGA approved its usage as long as you will turn the slope feature off. Therefore, both the Tour V4 Jolt technology, as well as the Bushnell Tour V4 Slope feature are both an acceptable choice as rangefinder for tournament play.
  • A fast-focus system. The system allows you to find your range quickly, thus allowing you to focus within the shortest time and make the shot. With it, you no longer need to spend a lot of time focusing.
  • Lightweight and compact. If you are looking for a laser rangefinder that is not heavy or bulky to carry around, then Bushnell Tour V4 is the best bet for you. Its compact design will ensure that you can conveniently move with it around and use it with ease.
  • A manufacturer's 2-year warranty. Besides the fantastic features offered by this device, users also benefit from Bushnell's 2-year warranty. If you experience any technical issue in the process of using the tool, therefore, you can utilize the generous 2-year warranty.
  • Water resistant. Although the device is not waterproof, it offers some water resistance, and you can use it even when there are light showers. To prolong it use, however, be sure that you protect it from water at all times.
  • 5x magnification
  • Comes with one protective case

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about the  Tour V4 device and their answers. Let us know if you have another one!

If you are wondering whether you can use the Tour V4 rangefinder in a tournament, the answer is a yes. The device can be used in a match legally since it lacks a slope. But even if it had a slope, the USGA made changes to its regulations and made it legal for people to use rangefinders with slope in tournaments as long as they can disengage the slope-switch technology.

The Tour V4 Slope is a version of the Tour V4, which comes with slope feature.

Yes, they do. The manufacturer offers a 2-year warranty for the device. The warranty is limited and not comprehensive, which means that some conditions must be met. It is also imperative to note that the warranty covers defects and artistry only. As such, it does not cover the physical damage that may result from negligence. Moreover, it does not cover defects that might result from mishandling, misuse, improper installment, or after maintenance from Bushnell unauthorized service centers.

Bushnell Tour V4 has two options when it comes to the units of distance measurement, meters and yards. You can change the distance readings to either of the units based on what you think is convenient for you. Users can change the units by long pressing the power button until the device goes off. You can then change the units conveniently without any trouble. You can find out more about the options by reading your user manual or visiting your local store that sells the devices and asking for help.

The V4 utilizes the latest technology: PinSeeker and Jolt technology, which is accurate. As such, you do not need to do numerous readings to get a consistent distance since the technology used makes it possible to understand the range with a single accurate reading. Once the device picks the length, you will get a pulse alert to inform you that it has captured the distance.

No, it is not. Although Bushnell Tour V4 is not water resistant, however, it offers adequate water resistance. This means that you can use it under damp conditions because its water resistance attributes are reliable, and you can use it with some rain. If there are heavy showers, however, avoid using it because it will malfunction.

Bushnell V4 rangefinder offers readings within the 1,000 yard mark, which means that it is suitable for professionals. It will also be ideal for average golfers who want a device that they can use as they sharpen their shooting skills. This is because it makes it easy to detect the distance you want to shoot at accurately, a characteristic that makes it worth every penny you spend on it.

The Bushnell Tour V4 is ideal for most golfers, especially amateurs and semi-professionals. The device could prove useful to professional amateurs. When compared to the features that Bushnell Tour V3 offered, the Bushnell Tour V4 is more compact hence less bulky to carry around. The new V4 is also faster as compared to the rate at which the V3 was picking the distance.

As such, spending the extra bucks to get it could prove justifiable. The warranty that accompanies the purchase of the V4 is similar to what the V3 offers since they come from the same manufacturer. This ensures that you can buy the device and use it without worrying too much about its ability to deliver as expected. With it, you will no longer need to take many readings since it utilizes the PinSeeker and JOLT technology to give you a single accurate reading. This means that it will save you a lot of time.

Moreover, the fact that it is not waterproof does not mean that it will not give you quality service when using it in a light rain. You, however, must protect it from too much water if you want to enhance its durability. Its 1,000 yard range makes it a worthy upgrade. For some people the Bushnell Tour V4 Slope is the better choice, if slope technology is a must for you.

The Bushnell Tour V4 laser rangefinder comes with great speed, the right size, accuracy, and user-friendliness make it worth the penny that you will spend on it. It is also easy to use, and you will not need assistance with assembling or using it. From this detailed Bushnell Tour V4 review, Bushnell Tour V4 is a golf laser rangefinder designed for any golfer looking for a budget device that promises long-term reliability and durability.

Review: bushnell tour v4 rangefinders.

bushnell tour v4 features

Pros:  Compact and lightweight. Lightning-fast readings. Easy to use. With the Tour V4 Slope, slope mode can be turned off to comply with tournament rules.

Cons: Not waterproof.

Who it’s for: All golfers can use the Tour V4 ($299.99). The pricier Tour V4 Slope ($399.99) offers slope functionality, which appeals to golfers who play different courses on a regular basis, or want the most accurate readings possible for casual and practice rounds.

Last year, I made the case that  Bushnell’s Tour X Jolt rangefinder was the company’s best rangefinder, and one of the best rangefinders on the market. That has changed, thanks at least in part to the USGA, which amended its stance on slope-measuring rangefinders. Golfers can now use a slope-measuring rangefinder, so long as the slope functionality is turned off, in tournaments where distance-measuring devices are allowed.

Bushnell’s new Tour V4 rangefinders are available in two models: the Tour V4 ($299.99) and the Tour V4 Slope ($399.99), which takes advantage of the new rule.

bushnell tour v4 features

The Tour V4 Slope (and all Bushnell’s slope-measuring rangefinders) uses a built-in inclinometer, as well as an algorithm that factors in distance, elevation and trajectory to calculate a distance a shot will play . So on top of producing an actual distance to the flag, say 150 yards, the Tour V4 Slope will also provide a “plays-like” distance. If that 150-yard shot is uphill, it might play more like 160 yards. If it’s downhill, it might play more like 140 yards. For golfers who know their distances well, the Tour V4 Slope will help them better understand their course in causal and practice rounds. And come tournament time, they can still use the Tour V4 Slope, if local rules allow, by toggling the slope functionality off before they get to the first tee.

The USGA rule change eliminates the need of tournament golfers to have two rangefinders, a problem Bushnell had already solved with the Tour X Jolt ($499.99). The Tour X Jolt used a system of interchangeable face plates, which make it a slope-and-distance measuring device when its red face plate was installed, and a distance-only measuring device when its black faceplate was installed. The execution was impressive, but more than once when I (too firmly) dropped the Tour X in the back bin of my golf cart was I jarred when the face plate came flying off. The rangefinder was always fine, but a part of me wondered how many drops it had left in it before something bad happened.

bushnell tour v4 features

There are a few advantages to the Tour X, however, but for most golfers in the market for a new slope rangefinder, the Tour V4 makes much more sense. For example, with the Tour X, golfers can toggle between a brighter red display and a deeper black display. It also has a 6X magnification, making objects appear 6-times larger through its viewing window, whereas the Tour V4 Slope only has a 5X magnification. The Tour X also claims an accuracy of +/- 0.5 yard, while the Tour V4 has an accuracy of +/- 1 yard. Personally, I liked the ability to toggle the color of the Tour X’s display from black to red, but I didn’t notice the magnification or accuracy differences when compared to the Tour V4 Slope. What I did notice in a big way, however, was that the Tour V4 had no removable parts, and was significantly smaller and lighter. More importantly, the Tour V4 Slope sells for $100 less than the Tour X. Both also use Bushnell’s “Jolt” technology, which alerts a golfer when the rangefinder has locked onto a flagstick by vibrating.

The lone drawback? The Tour V4 slope is water-resistant, whereas Bushnell’s other premium rangefinders (Tour X, Pro X7, Pro X7 Jolt, Tour Z6 Jolt) are rainproof or waterproof.

If you’re a golfer who wants the most accurate distances possible, the Tour V4 Slope is currently Bushnell’s most attractive option, thanks to its ability to turn its slope functionality on and off through its menu. If you don’t care about slope, the Tour V4 and its $100 savings makes more sense. But once slope is off the table, you may want to consider Bushnell’s even more affordable models (Tour V3, Medalist).

Had these about a year now, for me they’ve worked perfectly, no issues with locking on, even in dull light, can be tricky into a setting sun but that goes for all rangefinders in my experience. Best I’ve used by far

Both I and a friend both got this range finder as soon as it came out. We both had the same experence and only discussed after we had both returned the unit. Battery Door is horrible. The Jolt feature works about 1 out of 4 times. It was hit or miss above 150 yards and could not lock onto any pin over 180 yards.

I have had the same Bushnell 1500 slope since it came out and worked flawlessly. Unfortunately I sold it before testing this new model. Very sad Bushnell put these out without some further QC.

Insider photos from Tiger Woods’ launch event for his new “Sun Day Red” apparel line

bushnell tour v4 features

On Monday evening, inside the swanky, second-story “Coach House” event center in the Palisades Village, just minutes down the road from the 2024 Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club, Tiger Woods and TaylorMade officially announced their new apparel/footwear/accessory line, called “Sun Day Red.”

The Sun Day Red website officially launched on Monday night during the event, and the products are set to go on sale starting May 1.

The “Sun Day Red,” or “SDR” name will be self-explanatory for most golf fans, since he’s been wearing a victory-red shirt on Sunday’s for his entire professional career, but Woods explained the meaning of Sun Day Red at the launch event:

“It started with mom. Mom thought – being a Capricorn – that my power color was red, so I wore red as a junior golfer and I won some tournaments. Lo and behold, I go to a university that is red; Stanford is red. We wore red on the final day of every single tournament, and then every single tournament I’ve played as a professional I’ve worn red. It’s just become synonymous with me.”

The Sunday Red outfit has worked to perfection for his 82 PGA Tour victories, including 15 majors, so why not make an entire apparel line based on the career-long superstition?

As I learned at Monday’s launch event, the new Sun Day Red line includes much more than just clothing. To go along with a slew of different golf shirt designs and colorways, there were also windbreakers, hoodies, shoes, hats, headcovers, ball markers and gloves on display.

The upscale event was hosted by sports media personality Erin Andrews, with special guests David Abeles (CEO of TaylorMade) and Tiger Woods himself.

As explained by Abeles, the Sun Day Red brand is an independently-run business under the TaylorMade umbrella, and is based in San Clemente, California (rather than Carlsbad, where TaylorMade headquarters is located), and it’s run by a newly-formed, independent group. Brad Blackinship, formerly of Quiksilver and RVCA, is the appointed president of the new brand.

As for the logo itself, obviously, it’s made to look like a Tiger (the animal), and is comprised of 15 tiger stripes, which correspond with Woods’ 15 major championships. While the logo may need a 16th stripe if Woods adds a major trophy to his collection, it makes perfect sense for the time being.

The golf/lifestyle line is meant to combine premium precision and athletic comfort, while still having plenty of wearability and style off the course. Like Woods said on stage at the event, he wants to be able to go right from the course to dinner wearing Sun Day Red, and that was exactly the aesthetic on display at the event on Monday.

Following the official announcement from Woods and Abeles, they revealed multiple pieces of clothing, accessories and footwear for the event-goers to ogle (and photograph). Check out a selection of product/event photos below, or head over to our @GolfWRX Instagram page for video coverage…OR, head into our GolfWRX Forums for even more photos and member discussion.

GolfWRX Spotlight: Motocaddy M7 Remote and M5 GPS DHC electric cart review

bushnell tour v4 features

I have been thinking about electric golf push carts, or trollies, ever since I started playing in my league seven years ago.

Motocaddy has been making high-quality electric, and non-electric, carts since 2004 and has a couple of great options for the golfer who loves to walk. Motocaddy was nice enough to get their M7 Remote and M5 GPS DHC in my hands to try out on the course for a few weeks.

I have had a lot of people stop me to ask about the carts, and the one thing I keep telling them is that these carts are just flat out fun to use on the course.

bushnell tour v4 features

Motocaddy M7 Remote

The M7 Remote was very easy to get set up right out of the box. All you have to do is charge the battery, install the wheels, and you are pretty much ready to go. The M7 folds up pretty small, just a little larger than the 3-wheel pushcart that I had been using for years. Getting it to the course should be no problem with just about any trunk space. Now, the one downside to an electric cart is the weight when moving it around, and both carts come in at around 35 pounds each. Even with that extra weight, I didn’t have much trouble lifting them in and out of the back of a pickup.

The M7 unfolds quickly with the flick of two levers and extends the front wheels automatically. Once unfolded, you drop in the battery, plug it in, and secure your bag. If you own a Motocaddy bag, they have developed a really nice system called EasiLock that involves two metal studs that fit into the bottom of the cart. This system also includes a molded base that prevents the bag from rotating at all, even on the roughest terrain. You can still use the M7 with almost any other golf bag as it includes elastic straps that wrap around the top and bottom of the bag.

As soon as you plug in the battery the LCD screen comes to life and you are ready to go. You can use the M7 without the remote by using the dial on the handle to control the starting, stopping, and speed. But the M7 has a remote that is activated by a simple press of the power button to get going. The remote is very simple with just five buttons to control where the M7 goes.

Getting a feel for the M7 takes no time at all and by the time you drive it from your car to the 1st tee you will be in complete, and confident, control of the cart. You simply press the “+” button to start moving forward and the cart takes off gently without any rattling of your clubs, and you can press that same button again to increase the speed. The cart will go from a slow crawl, for bumpy or tight areas, too, as fast as I could run with just a few presses of the button. The big red “stop” button in the center stops the cart immediately, and when stopped it is locked in place, even on steep hills. You don’t have to worry about remembering to set the brakes or anything because it is done automatically.

Steering is just as easy: simply press the right or left button to turn the cart. Small, quick presses will just slightly adjust the cart as it moves down the fairway while a long hold of the button can make it turn on a dime to the right or left.

Almost everyone asked me how stable the cart was and if it would tip over. I can proudly say that it has stayed upright even on some unseen bumps at maximum speed. Side hills, ruts, and even curbs are handled with ease with the help of the small rear wheel.

I really enjoy strolling down the fairway with nothing but the M7’s remote in my hand — it just makes golfing more fun!

bushnell tour v4 features

Motocaddy M5 GPS DHC

After using the M7 and its fancy remote, I was a little nervous that I wouldn’t like not having it. But to be honest the M5 was just as fun to use, but for a different reason.

As the name suggests, the M5 has a built-in GPS with 40,000 courses preloaded into it. The screen is a good size, pretty responsive to the touch, and easy to read in direct sunlight. Having the GPS directly on the cart is great, you drive up to your ball and immediately have yardage to the front, back, and center of the green as well as bunkers and hazards. You can easily toggle between screens on the GPS and it offers a couple of different views to help navigate the hole. The M5 can also keep score and let you know shot distances right on the screen. Motocaddy even includes nice little touches like a screen protecter kit to ensure durability.

Driving the M5 is just as easy as the M7 with using the dial on the handle. And speaking of the handle, the grips have a great tacky rubber that grips well even in hot and humid conditions. To start the M5 you just press the dial down and the cart will gently start down the fairway. You can turn the dial to increase or decrease the speed — I found between 5-6 to be the most comfortable for me. But the speed can go up to a very fast pace if you are looking to set a record for fastest round of the day.

As you walk down the fairway, or rough, stopping the cart is as simple as pressing he dial again. When stopped the M5 engages a parking brake automatically so you don’t have to worry about it running down a hill without your approval. The M5 has tons of power to go up just about any hill and the Down Hill Control (DHC) keeps the speed consistent even when going down a steep decent.

Since the M5 has so much power, and it is a little heavy, I thought steering would be a little bit of a challenge. It wasn’t, at all. Guiding the M5 took very little effort and slight adjustments going down the fairway were very easy. Really tight turns took a slight bit more effort as the torque can want to go forward a little more than turn. Again, once you get the M5 from the car to the first tee, you will be a master at driving it.

bushnell tour v4 features

Overall, Motocaddy has created two great carts that provide additional enjoyment to walking your favorite 9 or 18. Having the ability to walk without carrying or pushing your bag, clubs, and whatever else goes with you. I like them so much that it is going to be hard to get the M7’s remote out of my hands when I go play!

GolfWRX Spotlight: Crossrope weighted jump rope & app

bushnell tour v4 features

An 18-hole round of golf averages out to just under five miles of walking, which on its own is a good workout. Once you throw in some potential uphill trekking you get some serious cardio too, but if you all looking for a quick workout between rounds of golf look no further than Crossrope.

Crossrope – The details

bushnell tour v4 features

Crossrope is a system of the weighted jump rope that allows you to quickly switch the weight of the ropes you are using to boost your workout—they range from 1/4 lbs all the way up to 2 lbs depending on the kit you start out with. There is an accompanying app that helps you go through multiple workout routines and is available free, or you can upgrade to the entire library of workout routines along with more workout tracking options.

This is NOT your middle school jump rope

The handles are heavy duty and feature precision bearings to allow the rope to move smoothly around as you go through a routine. They are also ergonomic and fit into your hand naturally, which making gripping easy, something that is really nice when you’re swinging a 2 lbs coated steel cable around. The handles also come with a fast clip system to make changing cables depending on your selected workout easier too.

bushnell tour v4 features

The ropes themselves are made from braided steel and are almost impossible to tangle, allowing them to be easily transported and stored when not in use. All in you are getting a premium piece of workout equipment that is effective and easy to store—hard to same the same thing about a treadmill.

When it comes to a workout, skipping rope is one of the most effective cardio workouts you can do, and with Crossrope, you can get both cardio and low impact weight training when using the heaviest ropes, and follow along with the guided workouts.

As someone that hadn’t used a jump rope in over a decade, starting out lighter was a nice way to ease in before moving up, and I was pleasantly surprised how easy and fun some of the workouts in the app were. If you are looking for a fun way to add something to your workouts, or you just want to try something new to get you into golf course walking shape, this could be right up your alley. Accuracy isn’t just achieved by purchasing a rangefinder . One needs the best rangefinders to get better results.

These two offer better results, even for those with shaky hands. So, what are they?

Bushnell Tour V4 JOLT Golf Laser Rangefinder, Patriot Pack Version,

Perfect Yardage

What is yardage? This is the maximum distance the device detects on the course. Proper yardage or range delivers better and more reliable results.

About yardages, this device offers 1000 yards. It locks the flag at 400 yards. With this kind of yardage, you are assured of better results and better shots.

Lower yardage would, definitely, offer less reliable results. For that reason, having this device guarantees more reliable performances.

For that reason, on the yardage bit, I give a thumbs up!

Economical power consumption

Power is a scarce resource unless it is renewable. Proper power consumption gives more benefits for the users.

On the power consumption, this is a class 1 laser rangefinder. It boasts an average power output of 0.5mW. With this power output, you are guaranteed of longer uses without running out of juice.

From my experience as a golfer, running out of power in the middle of a round is one of the most annoying things.

If you need to spare power for more rounds, the Bushnell Tour V4 would be an ideal choice for you.

Ergonomic Design

The Bushnell Tour V4 golf rangefinder features a rugged, compact and ultra-light design. With this ergonomic design, you use it for the whole day without being inconvenienced.

The light and small size makes it perfect for extended uses. In my opinion, this gadget is among the most ergonomic options out there.

For that reason, if you want something that will easily fit into your pockets without causing discomfort, then this is an ideal purchase.

The design doesn’t end on size and weight. The gadget also delivers a firm grip, thanks to the design. It perfectly fits into the hands for easy handling.

Water resistance

You may ask why being water resistance is important. Well, golf courses are not in the indoors. For that reason, they are affected by weather conditions.

Avid golfers want to play even when the weather is rainy or snowy. For that reason, having a waterproofed body makes this gadget ideal for most golfers.

In that case, you enjoy sporting throughout the year, in all weather conditions.

This is a fairly affordable golf rangefinder . Compared to models of its caliber, it offers value for the money.

Despite its affordable price, the gadget delivers cutting-edge results.

In that case, if you want to purchase a high-quality device without draining your wallets, this is my suggestion.

Warranties and Guarantees

How safe is a purchase for the Bushnell Tour T4 golf rangefinder? Well, we all want to be sure that we can get a replacement if our order is faulty.

Bushnell Tour V4 JOLT Golf Laser Rangefinder Review

Going through online reviews by most buyers paints a picture of a beautiful, nearly perfect device. There are praises on the Bushnell Tour T4’s size and excellent performance.

Several buyers couldn’t help noticing the rugged and ergonomic construction. They also talked about the legality aspect.

On a professional level, I couldn’t agree more with these buyers/users. However, I took a keen interest in several concerns by some peculiar buyers.

For instance, one buyer wondered whether his left-handed son could use the device. Well, this golf rangefinder works for left and right-handed people.

Another buyer also raised the question of whether they could change the units between yards and meters. As for this concern, it is clear that the user manual gives the procedure on how to go about it.

Concerning the price, almost all buyers agreed that the product goes at a reasonable price. In that case, it is the best bet for anyone who wants to save some extra bucks.

“Does it come with a case?” Another concerned buyer asked. YES, the device case with a case for proper storage.

Every cloud has a silver lining!

In the case of this golf rangefinder, we still had a few negative feedbacks from some concerned customers.

For instance, one claimed that they had to make several attempts to get perfect yardages. That was a genuine concern, although it seemed like it was a matter of little practice. With some practice, that concern would be solved.

Another buyer questioned the customer service. It seemed he had had an awful experience after using the device for over two years. Well, the end of the warranty is two years. For that reason, asking for a replacement after the warranty elapses seemed to have been the problem.

In general, there was a consensus by most buyers and users that this is a top-quality device. The few negative comments seemed to be isolated cases of poor maintenance and less practice.

My Expert Opinion

As an expert and a long-term golfer, I recommend this gadget for beginners and experts, as well. There are several reasons for that.

I have used it, and also tested several other models. Perhaps, most people worry about the absence of the slope.

In that case, you could cough a few extra bucks and purchase the (Tour V4 Slope). However, as an expert, I would advise you to do that for now.

Spending extra bucks just to have the slope function sounds frivolous. In my opinion, the slope function seldom adds or subtracts anything from an avid golfer.

In any case, the slope wouldn’t be of use in a golf competition. For that reason, given its price and excellent design, Bushnell Tour V4 JOLT Golf Laser Rangefinder .

Bushnell Tour V4 Review

The Bushnell Tour V4 Jolt has been retired. Check out our current recommendations for today's best golf rangefinders. .

'Bushnell Tour V4 Jolt'

Bushnell Tour V4 Jolt

This is our Bushnell Tour V4 Review for the standard version without Slope. If you are looking for the Slope model, see our Bushnell Tour V4 Shift Review .

Bushnell Tour V4 Jolt User Rating: 4.64 out of 5 ( 176 reviews)

The Bushnell Tour V4 is the successor to the wildly successful Bushnell Tour V3. It’s a little bit smaller and has a cool new easy-to-use focus ring . This will likely be Bushnell’s top-selling laser rangefinder without Slope.

However, since the USGA has now allowed rangefinders where Slope can be turned off for competition, we expect Slope models with that capability to gain a piece of this market. The Bushnell Pro X2 , the Bushnell Tour V4 Shift , and the Leupold GX-2i2 are three models you might want to consider if you desire a laser golf rangefinder that can be legal when it needs to be, but still has the Slope feature when you don’t!

  • PinSeeker with JOLT – provides short vibrating pulses to give a tactile confirmation that the laser has locked onto the flag.
  • 5x Magnification – brings the target in closer.
  • Fast focus system – allows you to change the focus easily with your index finger.
  • Ergonomic design with Stabi-Grip technology – more comfortable and secure grip.
  • Water resistant – no worries if you play in the rain.
  • 2 Year warranty
  • 3-Volt CR2 battery and premium carry case included

For our Bushnell Tour V4 Review, we tested it ourselves and read over 100 user reviews looking for common threads of praises or complaints. Here’s what we found:

  • Accuracy – Like most laser rangefinders, it’s accurate to within a yard or two. Users appreciated the accuracy over more often than any other attribute.
  • Ease of Use – The Bushnell V4 is easy to use if you have relatively steady hands. Most users agreed as this was the second most frequently mentioned positive factor. We did notice a couple of users struggled with holding it steady enough. If you are worried about it, consider the Bushnell Pro X2 or a golf GPS .
  • Compared to other models – This is our top pick for a rangefinder without Slope. Most users also found it better than the competition or models they had previously had.
  • Improves Game – Many users give credit to their laser rangefinders when they first start using one. The Bushnell Tour V4 is no exception!
  • Size / Weight – It’s compact and comfortable in the hand. Many users commented on these attributes.
  • Price – The price point is reasonable. There are less expensive rangefinders , from lesser-known manufacturers, but we give the performance edge to the Bushnell V4.
  • Features – There aren’t a lot of bells and whistles on the Tour V4, but it does it’s job well and Jolt technology is always a favorite feature on Bushnell rangefinders.
  • Speed – We agree with user positive comments regarding the speed of acquiring the target.
  • Clarity – The numbers aren’t that large on the display, but they are well placed and clear.
  • Case – It comes with a zipper case that can clip on your golf bag. This generally gets good reviews.

Bushnell Tour V4 Review (Standard Version) Summary

The reviews for the Tour V4 are very good and we give the edge to this model over comparable models from less expensive and less-known brands because it’s slightly easier to hit ground targets such as bunkers and layup points. It’s another solid performer from Bushnell at a reasonable price point and we don’t think you will be disappointed. The only regret we saw from some users was that they didn’t go ahead and get a model with a Slope feature that can be turned on and off. Specifically speaking, that would be the Bushnell Tour V4 Shift or the top of the line Bushnell Pro X2 .

The Tour V4 improves upon the excellent V3 model without an increase in the price. The change in the rules means that more golfers can and should upgrade to the slope version to increase their accuracy and ultimately hit more accurate golf shots. It's compact and light, easy to use and extremely fast and accurate. One of the best lasers on the market for sure that is worth your consideration.

Fits perfectly in the hand and is stable to use despite being smaller and lighter. Excellent range and the JOLT function is a reassuring feature to have

Golf Monthly's Bushnell Tour V4 laser rangefinder review, the replacement of the popular Tour V3 which now has an extended range, faster focus and quicker distance display

The Bushnell Tour V4 JOLT laser is the long-awaited replacement to the popular Tour V3 JOLT model, a favoured choice among amateur golfers up and down the country.

The new Tour V4 is 30 per cent smaller and lighter, making it fit perfectly in your hands and even your pocket. It also has a new Fast Focus system that allows you to adjust the focus with the same finger you use to fire the laser.

A change in the Rules of Golf, specifically rule 14-3 regarding artificial devices that came into effect from January 1 st 2016, means that slope lasers can now be used in competitions providing the function is disabled and there is a local rule in place allowing distance measuring devices (which most golf clubs in the UK have).

Bushnell-Tour-V4-laser

This means that golfers will be more encouraged to buy the Slope version of the Tour V4 JOLT (£315), distinguished by its red trim on the front of the unit, knowing they can disable the feature and use it legally in competitions. This is ideal for golfers that play lots of different courses, lots of competitive rounds that involve practice rounds, or hilly golf courses.

While the Tour V4 is certainly more compact, the 'Stabi-Grip' rough surfaces around the points at which it is in contact with your hand mean you don’t lose out on stability. It can be a little time consuming to turn the slope function on and off (it took us a few goes to master it) and the focus toggle is a little too stiff for our liking, but other than that the Tour V4 improves upon the Tour V3 and is certainly useable with just one finger.

Increasing the range of the JOLT feature will please lower handicappers that hit the ball a long way and want to know the exact distance to pins on approaches to par fives. I even managed to pick out a flag that was 390 yards away, very impressive!

As always, Bushnell hasn’t scrimped on the carry case, which has a premium look to it and clips easily to the bag to allow swift access. The battery meter is another reassuring feature, keeping you updated on when you need to buy a replacement.

Bushnell Tour V4 Review

Bushnell Tour V4 Review – Is It Worth The Money?

October 21, 2019 admin.

Updated 2020

The Bushnell Tour V4 is one of Bushnell’s best offerings and really put them on the map as the industry standard. Bushnell has become a powerhouse brand in the golf laser rangefinder market and their Bushnell Tour V4 is one of their best offerings. Here’s my full Bushnell Tour V4 Review .

Many golfers are now starting to consider adding a golf rangefinder device to their bag. They vary from rangefinders , handheld GPS devices , GPS apps and of course the growing in popularity golf GPS watches .

Before we give you our full review, lets see what Bushnell says about it’ Tour V4 rangefinder:

“The Bushnell Tour V4 is the perfect combination of size, speed, accuracy and JOLT “

The Rangefinders market has a lot of new brands releasing rangefinders in all shapes, sizes and colours with each brand trying to better each other on the newest features year after year. I reviewed a lot of them HERE .

Bushnell are no different. The Tour V4 JOLT comes with a list of impressive features that will appeal to many.

When I originally wrote this post back in 2017 and wrote my Bushnell Tour V4 Review, it was Bushnell’s flagship and most expensive model.

However, since then Bushnell has brought out more impressive and expensive models. But that’s good news for us golfers who don’t want to spend $500 on a rangefinder. Why so?

Well since Bushnell released their newer models, they have dropped the price dramatically on the V4.

You can find the updated price on Amazon HERE (Amazon Affiliate Link).

KEY FEATURES

  • PinSeeker with JOLT technology
  • 1 yard accuracy
  • 400+ yards to a flag ranges
  • 5x Magnification
  • Water resistant
  • 2 Year warranty

Bushnell Tour V4 Review

bushnell tour v4 features

Anyone who used a Bushnell before will immediately notice the size difference and design improvements of the Tour V4 JOLT.

Bushnell says that it’s 30% smaller than the Tour V3 model. The new ergonomic design fits golfers hands extremely well.

It has a nice grip that cups your hand and a small notch at the bottom to rest your thumb.

Does The Bushnell V4 Have JOLT?

You might be wondering at this stage what does JOLT actually do? It’s actually pretty cool; probably the most standout feature the Tour V4 model offers.

When looking through the scope getting the yardage the pin, with some models it can be difficult when there’s trees and banks behind the green.

Sometimes you need to double even triple check just to be certain the yardage is correct (usually when your playing well). T

The Tour V4 Pin Seeker and JOLT Technology gives you a little vibration when it acquires the flag stick ‘JOLT’.

Bushnell Tour V4 review

The JOLT technology paired with an excellent 5x magnification scope gives golfers a crystal clear image of the flag stick and be confident on their yardage first try each time.

You can simply refocus the scope using the magnification slider on the side of the scope using your index finger. This again really compliments the ergonomic design of the Bushnell Tour V4.

Can the Bushnell Tour V4 be Used In Meters & Yards?

The Tour V4 (Amazon Affiliate Link) can produce measurements in both yards and meters.

It’s very easy to move for the Bushnell V4 to change between yards and meters.

Simply hold down the power button until you feel a slight vibration. When trying to switch modes, players will need to hold down the power button until feeling vibrations.

High Quality Feel

You really feel the quality in the Bushnell Tour V4 JOLT as soon as you have it in your hands; it really has that cool high tech feel to it.

Bushnell Tour V4 review

The carry case is strong and durable and comes in a eye catching silver design with bright red zip. The carry case can be clipped to your bag for quick access. A really nice design feature is the clip for the carry case, rather than unzipping every time, these a little loop strap that you can open and close to access your device.

You can find the updated price on Amazon HERE .

Problems With The V4

As great as the Tour V4 JOLT is picking up yardages, for longer range yardages over 220+ yards you need to have a steady hand.

If you have shaky hands, sometimes it can be hard to lock onto the flag. But this like I said is for 220+ yardages. Not a huge concern for many golfers I would feel.

This may not affect some people but from a person who does get shaky hands from time to time, it was more difficult to get the longer yardages.

On the original Tour V4 there’s no Slope reading either. Now this might not affect a lot of people who play the same course a lot but some people do like the slope feature.

Does The Bushnell Tour V4 Have Slope?

The Bushnell Tour V4 does not have Slope. If you want a Bushnell Rangefinder With Slope , you need to try the Tour V4 Shift or Bushnell Pro XE Models (Amazon Affiliate Link).

The Tour V4 Shift is a little more expensive, but it really is a brilliant device. I would also look at the Precision NX7 Pro. The NX7 is a lower price and has so many premium features and excellent reviews. I compared the two of them HERE .

It’s worth pointing out also in case you didn’t know but using the Slope feature during tournament play is illegal anyway so it’s not really essential anyway. I have more info on rangefinder rules HERE .

Is The Bushnell Tour V4 Waterproof?

The Tour V4 is water resistant. It can get wet. For example if it rains or gets damp in the golf bag. But I wouldn’t be dropping this in a lake for example.

If you want a waterproof rangefinder, you will need to try the Bushnell Pro XE (Amazon Affiliate Link). The XE is 100% waterproof, but the V4 is only water resistant.

Is the Bushnell V4 Worth the Money?

Bushnell Tour V4 review

This answer depends entirely on the type of golfer you are.

Yes , it is worth the money. It’s an excellent piece of technology and the design is one of the most eye catching on the market. It picks up the yardages quickly to 1 yard accuracy.

If you play a lot of golf and are serious about your yardages, it’s an excellent device to improve your game, lower your scores and your handicap. You will quickly know all your club distances and take out all the guess work.

If you are serious about your game, an investment in the Bushnell Tour V4 Jolt (Amazon Affiliate Link) is a worthwhile investment that you can get a couple of years use from it. You also have the added comfort of a 2 year warranty.

No , it’s not worth the money if you do not play enough golf. It’s an expensive device and one of the most expensive laser rangefinders on the market right now. Bushnell is a premium brand and comes at a cost. You are paying for the brand but more importantly you are paying for the quality and technology. If you plan to invest in a the Bushnell Tour V4 you need to be serious about your game or have money to burn.

Alternative Options To The Tour V4?

I would also consider the Precision NX7 Pro . It’s an amazing rangefinder that has taken the market by storm. They are on a mission to provide golfers with high performing rangefinders for affordable prices.

Bushnell Tour V4 Shift

If you’ve always loved Bushnell rangefinders such as the now discontinued Tour Z6, then you’re definitely going to love their top of the line Tour V4 Shift unit! It’s the best of the best of the Tour V4 series that’s new and improved to be better than ever. So, what’s so new about it?

The Tour V4 was only available in either slope and non-slope models. Now, it’s available with both measuring systems in one unit. You don’t have to deal with face plate changing or worrying about being tournament legal. The Slope-Switch Technology eliminates all those worries with just a flip of a switch.

It’s just as compact in size as its Tour V4 sibling, but it’s a whole ounce lighter. This mightn’t mean much for most golfers, but when you’re playing round after round under a beating-down sun, all weight matters – or lack of!

You’ll always know you have the right distance without the guesswork because of Pin Seeker with JOLT technology. You’ve got positive pulses that lets you know you’ve hit your target.

Got an unwanted case of the shakes? Don’t worry! The Stable-Grip technology eliminates all errors stemming from an unsteady hand.

With a generous 21 mm of eye relief, all glasses-wearers will have plenty of room to keep their specs on. If you wear sunglasses, don’t bother with removing them just to see the LCD screen. You’ll be set to go with a Bushnell on your side!

  • Easy to use
  • Pulses for confirmation
  • Long ranging
  • Quality control issues

Bushnell Tour V4 Shift Rangefinder Q&A

Unfortunately, no. None of the Tour V4 Series rangefinders are waterproof. They’re all rain-resistant. It can withstand some rain except if it’s a downpour.

The Tour V4 Shift fits in the palm of your hand. It’s smaller than its older V3 cousins with its 3.11 x 1.57 x 4 inches and 5.6 ounce weight.

You will feel the pulsating vibrations of the JOLT feature when you’ve locked onto the flag.

You can. The V4 has a max ranging distance of 1000 yards, and it can range out to any target within this distance. However, you won’t get the JOLT feature for various targets other than the flag.

Unfortunately, no. This model only features the LCD with black display. The Dual Display Technology is available on the Pro X . It can also be found on many of the models here .

The Patriot Pack is the name of the accessories package that comes with the Tour V4 Shift purchase. You get a red silicone protective skin, included CR2 battery, premium case with belt loop, and a 2-year warranty.

The Tour V4 Shift is accurate to within, give or take, one yard.

The lens have multi-coated lens for clear images. It also has a 4.8 mm exit pupil which is plenty big enough for daytime use for brightness.

Noteworthy Features:

  • Slope-Switch Technology
  • Stable-Grip Technology
  • PinSeeker with JOLT
  • Fast Focus System
  • Patriot Package

Our Verdict on the Tour V4 Shift

To ping up the strokes, the Bushnell Tour V4 Shift offers you a taste of both slope and non-slope worlds in one device. The price is fair for its capabilities and added features.

However, if something with a little more steroids is more your style, the Bushnell Pro X2 is worth the price. It’s got a ranging distance of 1300 yards, 450 to the flag, and is accurate to within .5 of yard. It’s got a metal housing, is completely waterproof, and it even has the Dual Display Technology. For some of Bushnell’s ESP technology, it has the best. It’ll definitely satisfy your gadget greed!

Outside of Bushnell, the Leupold GX-4i2 also offers both slope and non-slope technology. However, you are paying more for the face plate system and all that comes with it. It also has OLED display, Fog Mode, and three different reticles to use. It’s pretty fancy, but you’re also getting the added weight that’s expected.

But, the Tour V4 Shift happens to have the best price tag for its performance and abilities. You don’t need to spend hundreds more for the same features that you can get with this Shift. It’s a shift hot deal for a shift hot device!

Bushnell Tour V4 Shift

Bushnell makes the slightest of changes with the Bushnell Tour V4 Shift, adding a hard switch to shift the player between seeing slope-compensated distance readings and line-of-sight. Previously with the Bushnell Tour V4 Slope , the player had to use the buttons on the device to move between menus on the display to switch modes. This is much, much simpler. Somewhat confusingly, the V4 Shift retains the same name on the body, “Slope Edition”.

Other than this change, the rest of the device remains the same as in the prior generation V4 Slope . The Tour V4 Shift offers PinSeeker with JOLT (making the device vibrate when locked on to a target), 5x magnification with accuracy to 1 yard, and range from 5 to 1,000 yards (400+ to a flag). As with the rest of Bushnell’s laser rangefinders starting with the introduction of the top-of-the-line Bushnell Pro X2 , the V4 Shift is held vertically. Size and weight remain the same as the V4 Slope at 3.11 x 1.57 x 4 in and 6.6 oz, and a carry case is included.

The body has the same plastic shell with textured rubber grip at the top and bottom of the device, has easy-to-twist adjustable eyepiece , and threaded battery door (included is a 3-volt CR2). The laser continues to be water resistant (not waterproof, unlike the Bushnell Pro X2 ), and includes a 2-year warranty.

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

  • Every day each car in  Moscow metro passes  more than 600 km, which is the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg.

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.

Moscow metro tour: architectural styles of the subway.

bushnell tour v4 features

Duration: 2 hours

Categories: Culture & History, Sightseeing

This metro tour of Russia’s capital and most populous city, Moscow, is your chance to get a unique insight into the beautiful and impressive architecture of the city's underground stations. Admire their marble walls and high ceilings representing Stalin's desire for glory after World War 2, and see first-hand how the interiors change with the rise of new political eras. Your guide will lead you through the complex network, which is one of the most heavily used rapid transit systems worldwide, with over two billion travelers in 2011.

Opened in 1935, Moscow’s underground system, now 190 miles (305 km) long with 185 stations, is today one the largest and most heavily used rapid transit systems in the world. On this Moscow metro tour, discover the impressive architecture of Moscow’s underground stations and learn how they reflect the Soviet era.

Getting around by metro, your local guide will take you through parts of Moscow’s infamous history. Stop at stations built during the time of the USSR (Soviet Union) that are praised as one of the most extravagant architectural projects from Stalin’s time. After World War 2, he was keen on establishing Stalinist architecture to represent his rising regime and a recognized empire. Learn how when his successor started the de-Stalinization of the former Soviet Union in 1953, the extravagancy of the architecture was toned down.

Discover how the unique character of each station reflected several different eras. While stations like Kievskaya and Slavyansky Bulvar have pompous halls and high stucco ceilings brimming with extravagant decorations, those built later, like Volzhskaya, are lightly adorned with sparse furnishings. Architect Alexey Dushkin and painter Alexander Deyneka were just two of the many artists who made these magnificent landmarks possible.

Revel in Moscow's glory days, as well as the years of scarcity, on this fascinating Moscow metro experience. Conclude your tour at one of the central stations in Moscow. If you're lucky, you may even find the secret entrance to the unconfirmed Metro-2, a parallel underground system used by the government -- a mystery which has neither been denied nor confirmed today.

Culture Shock Rating

We have a wide range of tours designed to give you an insight into the destination you're travelling in and there is something for everybody. The culture shock ratings considers the destination visited, transport used, activities undertaken and that "Wow, I'm really not at home now!" factor. While generalisations are always tricky, a summary of our gradings is as follows…

This is the least confronting of our tour range. Transport used on the trip is either private or a very comfortable public option, the activities included are usually iconic sites and locations that are not all too confronting.

The tour can include a mix of private and public transport providing a level of comfort that is slightly below what you would experience at home. Sites visited are usually iconic sites, tours can also include market visits, visits to communities etc that provide the traveller with a fantastic insight into destination.

Expect to rough it for parts of this tour, whether it's a packed public bus where you are forced to stand, a visit to a local market, a local community, you are sure to have an experience that is very different from what you're used to at home.

The comforts of your home town and the environment you are used to are more of a rarity. Expect some challenging transport options, visits to local sites and areas that don't resemble anything at home.

You're out there in the global community! You are likely to be exposed to the elements, travel in whatever means of transport is available and basically take it as it comes, whatever comes! It can be tough.
