Just Released: New Summer 2023 Sailings

Summer 2023 Disney Cruise Line Itineraries

disney cruises summer 2023

Disney Cruise Line announced itineraries through Summer 2023 for the Magic, Wonder, Dream, Fantasy legacy ships, plus the brand-new Disney Wish! There are sailings to popular ports of call in the Greek Isles, Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Alaska, and the Caribbean. This post covers the destinations, followed by commentary on pricing, our recommended destinations, and why we’ll be booking on opening day instead of waiting for a deal.

Note that “opening day” booking for the general public will begin on May 9, 2022. (Do not call today–these itineraries cannot be booked yet by anyone.) Prior to that, there will be a staggered advance booking period beginning next Monday. Here’s the eligibility timeline:

  • May 2, 2022 – Platinum Castaway Club Members, Golden Oak Club Residents
  • May 3, 2022 – Gold Castaway Club Members
  • May 5, 2022 – Silver Castaway Club Members, Disney Vacation Club Members, Adventures by Disney Insiders
  • May 9, 2022 – All Guests

If you’re an existing member, Disney Cruise Line recommends that you log in to your account now to verify your Castaway Club status, so you’ll be all set to book on your designated date. You can also call (866) 784-1592 starting at 8:00 AM Eastern Time, or contact your travel agent.

Disney Dream Marks Inaugural Season in Europe  – For its first-ever summer season in Europe, the Disney Dream will call on a wide variety of destinations among the most treasured in the world. With sailings anywhere from 4 to 11 nights, the Disney Dream will sail from Barcelona and Rome to picturesque ports of call throughout the Mediterranean, including a first-ever seven-night sailing to the Greek Isles with stops in the ever-popular ports of Santorini and Mykonos.

Starting in late Summer 2023 and continuing through early fall, departures of the Disney Dream from Southampton will feature cruises to a wealth of destinations including Spain, France, the British Isles, Norway and Iceland. New ports of call include the picturesque La Rochelle, France and two new ports in Norway, Skjolden and Sandnes.

Summer 2023 sailings to Alaska aboard Disney Wonder  – The breathtaking natural beauty of Alaska will combine with the magic of Disney on 5, 7 and 9-night sailings on the Disney Wonder from Vancouver, Canada. Beginning in May 2023, cruisers will be invited to discover exciting ports like Ketchikan and Skagway, with their prehistoric glaciers, gold mining relics and spectacular land- and sea-life.

Three Alaskan itineraries call at Icy Strait Point, home to a coastal rainforest, wilderness tours and ziplining above the treetops.

Tropical Escapes to the Bahamas and Caribbean from Florida  – Sun-splashed tropical isles throughout the Bahamas and Caribbean will await guests on three Disney Cruise Line ships from Florida in summer 2023.

For its first full summer of sailing, the Disney Wish will homeport in Port Canaveral near Orlando for a series of three- and four-night Bahamas cruises to Nassau and Disney’s private island oasis, Castaway Cay. The Disney Wish will feature exciting new additions including Disney’s first “Frozen”-themed theatrical dining experience and AquaMouse, a wild water adventure and first-ever Disney attraction at sea.

Port Canaveral will also be the departure point for the Disney Fantasy for sailings ranging in length from five to 10 nights. In addition to seven-night cruises to popular ports in the eastern and western Caribbean, guests will also be able to experience a five-night Bahamian sailing with back-to-back calls at Castaway Cay, a 10-night southern Caribbean itinerary to the islands of Aruba and Bonaire, and an 8-night cruise featuring two days on the beautiful pink sand beaches of Bermuda.

The Disney Magic will make its summer home in Miami for an assortment of destinations. Starting May 27, the Disney Magic will sail 4-night Bahamas cruises and 5-night western Caribbean voyages, followed by two 7-night sailings in July 2023 to the Eastern and Western Caribbean. Select summer voyages aboard the Disney Magic will include double days at Castaway Cay.

When it comes to commentary, I don’t have a ton to offer that is unique to the Summer 2023 itineraries. Most of it would be rehashed from the last couple of years, even though I haven’t taken a cruise since late 2019. (Sarah has done a couple, but she’s not the one writing this.)

I know we definitely  will be booking one of these, as we have a 50% off future cruise credit from one of our Disney Wish itineraries that was cancelled. Which cruise we choose is subject to, ahem, internal debate , but we’re both in agreement that “going big” makes sense given the size of the savings. Leading candidates as of right now are to the Greek Isles or Northern Europe; both have many ‘new to us’ destinations that are on our travel bucket lists.

disney cruises summer 2023

If you’re looking for a recommendation, pretty much everyone who has done one will shower the Alaska itineraries with praise. To be sure, that’s one of the better trips we’ve taken. It’s also pretty approachable.

However, our all-time favorite cruise is the Norwegian Fjords itinerary–by a pretty wide margin. We cover the similarities and differences in Norway v. Alaska Cruises , but the bottom line is that for us, Norway was much better. Others we know who have done both give the edge to Alaska–you really can’t go wrong either way.

disney cruises summer 2023

Much like Walt Disney World on discount drop day, Disney Cruise Line’s phones will be jammed and the online system will likely slow to a crawl at peak times. Please do not exacerbate this by calling on a day before you’re eligible; they won’t make an exception and let you cut the line. It’ll just waste everyone’s time, including yours.

It’s always a good idea to use an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner to do the work for you, but especially for opening day bookings. For one thing, using them to book your cruise is a great way to save time and stress. For another, their services are free to you since they’re paid commission by DCL on the reservation.

disney cruises summer 2023

Every year opening day price-points make waves on social media once they’re available to book for Platinum Castaway Club members, as prices always jump. This is not really a surprise at this point, but it’s nonetheless easy to be taken aback when first seeing each year’s prices…especially if you remember what prices were 5 years ago.

With that said, it’s worth noting that opening day stateroom rates are largely on the lower end of the historical pricing spectrum. As itineraries start to book up and stateroom inventory becomes more scarce, rates invariably increase. Pricing is demand-based, with cruises in recent years rarely decreasing in price–increases are far more common.

disney cruises summer 2023

We’ve scored some good deals on Disney Cruise Line over the years (and cover how you can do the same in our How to Save Money on Disney Cruise Line Sailings post), but have had less luck since 2018 (with the exception of last fall and winter, when Sarah scored some exceptional deals).

With the sailings out of Florida–especially Port Canaveral–the odds of prices dropping are stacked against you. Normally, there’s a high probability that opening day prices are the cheapest that those sailings will ever be. Of course, this is assuming pent-up demand and the global economy remain strong heading into 2023, and that’s hardly a sure thing at this point.

disney cruises summer 2023

Ultimately, it’ll be interesting to see what happens with Disney Cruise Line, just like all other aspects of travel. With that 50% future cruise credit, we’ll likely hedge our bets and book as soon as we’re eligible on May 2 (assuming we can settle on an itinerary between now and then).

If we didn’t have that, I think we actually might wait this time. Not because I necessarily think a recession is on the horizon, but because I think that–at minimum–the bulk of pent-up demand, excess household savings, stimulus money, and so forth will largely be exhausted by next summer. Even if that’s correct, it doesn’t mean the return of deep discounts, but it could spell some relief from the high prices of travel. Or perhaps all of that is simply wishful thinking on my part, and this summer’s stratospheric pricing will be even worse in Summer 2023.

Any thoughts of them expanding to a Hawaiian cruise?

did the 12 night Northern Europe when it included St.Petersburg,.. have a feeling that stop will be omitted,.. but floating through the Stockholm archipelago was magical and you will flip out!

Wonder if other readers feel conflicted because of the environmental effects of cruises? I love the idea of visiting a lot of cities from my boat but i can’t seem to deal with the bad parts of cruising….

These statistics from Friends of the Earth might make you feel a little better about Disney cruising:

Finally taking our 2020 Mediterranean cruise this June, fingers crossed. We’ve done the Caribbean and one one-way Mediterranean cruise before but this one going to the Greek isles is our dream. We are sooo excited, the additional cruise credit for cancellations helps, prices have gone up so much, it’s hard to justify a future one, even though I will say the service and food quality are outstanding. But got to try the Wish!

I am cruising Norway in September, based off your post LAST year when the summer itineraries came out! We ultimately went with a different cruise line because of the price difference, but I still have you to thank! I’m getting so excited!

Here’s another vote for Norway! My wife and I did the Disney Norway itinerary six years ago and we’ve generally regarded it as the best trip we’ve ever taken.

by Matt and Kim

Thinking about a Disney Cruise Line vacation? You’re thinking, right! Chances are you’ve got a few questions before committing. No worries! We’ve got you covered. Check out these top ten questions and answers about taking that dream cruise with a Disney Cruise Line vacation!

Editor’s Note: Disney Cruise Line is cruising with new guidelines in place. These guidelines are updated regularly. Click here to learn more about the return to sailing on Disney Cruise Line, including the new health and safety requirements in place for guests.

1 – Which ship is best?

The Disney Cruise Line (DCL) currently consists of four ships, with more ships planned for the near future! Selecting just one ship as the  BEST  is rather tricky as they all have unique qualities that put them above and beyond most other cruise lines. The Disney  Magic  first set sail in 1998 with the Disney  Wonder  beginning its voyage shortly after in 1999. Both ships have a passenger capacity of 2,400 and are very similar in layout. The Disney  Magic  keeps to the east coast while the Disney  Wonder  travels in the west coast area. Several years later, in 2011, the DCL introduced the Disney  Dream,  followed by the Disney  Fantasy  in 2012.   Dream  and  Fantasy  are much larger than the  Magic  and  Wonder , as each of their passenger capacities, is 4,000. Both  Dream  and  Fantasy  are on the east coast with Port Canaveral as their homeport. All four ships are superb in cleanliness and maintenance as they are cared for non-stop. The service and activities are paramount, leaving it difficult to select just one as the best. We will say; however, most polls of DCL travelers say the Disney  Fantasy  is their top pick! However, we’re pretty sure that once the Disney Wish sets sail in summer 2022, the newest ship will take the top spot!

2 – What’s included in the price of a DCL?

When people see the price of the DCL, they tend to have sticker shock. It is one of the most expensive cruise options, but you most definitely get what you pay for! The basic price includes your stateroom, meals plus snacks and ice cream, soft drinks and other beverage station drinks, character meet and greets, award-winning entertainment, current in-theater Disney films, and top-of-the-line service. Some things not included are alcohol, signature dining, spa services, and port excursions. The truth is, yes – it’s expensive, but with Disney, you know the kind of experience you are going to get.

3 – What documents do I need to bring?

Editor’s Note: Disney Cruise Line requires documentation of a negative COVID test and proof of vaccination prior to sailing.  Click here to learn more about the return to sailing on Disney Cruise Line, including the new health and safety requirements in place for guests.

The real question is, where are you headed? The DCL fleet travels to several different ports depending on which ship you are on and when you are sailing. Canada, Spain, Caribbean, Italy, Hawaii, New York, England, Texas… are more – there is no shortage of dream destination cruises with the DCL. The safest bet is always to have a Passport and ID with you when exiting the ship at a port. Whether you are planning to experience one of the many port excursions or just staying close to the ship, once you exit, you’ll need the appropriate documentation to get back on. Follow your cruise guidelines as Disney will provide you with the information you need as to what documentation is necessary.

4 – What is Castaway Cay?

Simply put… it’s AMAZING! But if that’s not enough – Castaway Cay is Disney’s privately-owned island in the Bahamas. DCL ships are the only ships allowed to port here, making it an island oasis away from the hustle and bustle of life. Pristine beaches and lush landscape, it’s a tropical stop worth exploring for the day at port. Castaway Cay has a family beach and an adult beach, slides, water splash/play area, natural paths, shopping, dining, character meet and greets, and even its own Post Office! If we could live there, we would.

5 – Is there anything for adults on the DCL?

A common misconception is that the DCL is for kids only. This is false in so many ways! With or without kids, the DCL has you covered. There are multiple adult-only areas, including dining, lounges, and pools for guests 18 and older. There are also several adult-only activities and meetups that include anything from dancing to trivia.

6 – Are the Kids Clubs free?

Speaking of adult-only time, did you know each DCL ship has Kids Clubs available onboard? The kids will have a blast playing games, making crafts, and hanging out with characters. Highly trained Cast Members are readily available to care for your child while you take some adult time, as mentioned above. Kids Clubs are, in fact,  FREE,  including Disney’s Oceaneer Club and Lab (ages 3-12), Disney’s Edge (ages 11-14), and Disney’s Vibe (ages 14-17). Your kids will be asking to go! This is all free, except for the “it’s a small world” Nursery for ages 6 months to 3 years. There are charges here as this form of childcare is more hands-on with the little ones.

7 – What is Rotational Dining?

The DCL offers what they call “Rotational Dining,” and it has become a favorite for many DCL guests. Each night, you’ll have a scheduled restaurant to dine at that is included in your cruise price. You’ll rotate to a different restaurant each night, doubling up on a few restaurants depending on how long you are cruising. This is a great way to experience all the restaurants and their beautiful dining themes. The great part is that your server team moves from restaurant to restaurant with you, so you can expect to see the same sweet faces night after night. They get to know your favorite drinks, what you like and don’t like, and even your kids’ names. It’s an excellent way to dine!

8 – Can I bring alcohol with me?

We’re glad you asked! Alcohol may not be included in your cruise price, but you are welcome to bring some on board with you. Each guest 21 years or older can bring a maximum of 2 unopened bottles of wine or champagne no larger than 750ml. If you’re not a wine or champagne fan, you can bring 6 beers that are no larger than 12 ounces instead of the wine or champagne. You can bring these items on board at the beginning of each port of call. Just be sure the alcohol is with your carry-on bags, as it is not allowed to be checked.

disney cruises summer 2023

9 – Will I see any characters?

Yes! And lots of them! Character meet and greets are what adds that Pixie Dust on the Disney Cruise Line. Don’t be surprised if you see Mickey Mouse in his Captain suit, Captain Hook stirring up trouble, and even a plethora of Princesses. The DCL App is a perfect guide for the many meet and greet schedules so you’ll know when and where you can find Stitch, Goofy, Minnie, Donald, and so many other Disney pals on board. Plus, the characters change outfits regularly, so be prepared to visit characters a second time if you desire.

10 – What type of entertainment is on the DCL?

Maybe it would be easier to ask, what type of entertainment does the DCL  NOT offer?! Let’s just say you won’t be bored even on your Day(s) at Sea. While at the port, you’ll have incredible Port Adventures (aka excursions). On the ship, you can count on Broadway-style musicals to be available daily in the Theatre. There are current Disney films you’ll find in the theaters back home being played in the theater onboard. Get ready for multiple deck shows, dance parties, and even fireworks. There are live musicians available in the adult lounges and in the grand lobby many of the nights. You can shop till you drop in the numerous gift shops. Play anything from basketball to mini-golf on deck. Relax with top-of-the-line Spa and Salon treatments. Go on a ship scavenger hunt as a detective. Or take a dip in one of the many pools or water coaster. No shortage of entertainment here! You can count on the DCL, keeping you as busy or as relaxed as you want.

Summer 2023 Disney Cruises

Summer 2023 Disney Cruises

Disney Cruise Line will offer a variety of enchanting vacations in summer 2023, including cruises to Europe, Alaska, the Bahamas and Caribbean. For the first time ever, the Disney Dream will be heading east to Europe, calling on a wide variety of destinations among the most treasured in the world.

In the sunshine state, three ships, including the all-new Disney Wish, will cruise to the dreamiest tropical destinations. Guests can also set sail for Alaska on the Disney Wonder for a surreal landscape of spectacular glaciers, soaring eagles, breaching whales and towns with a Gold Rush past.

In addition to visiting exciting destinations, each and every voyage in summer 2023 also includes a healthy dose of Disney magic! No matter where our Guests are in the world, their families will receive Disney Cruise Line’s signature service, along with Broadway-style shows, themed dining, character encounters and activities for everyone in the family.

Disney Dream Marks Inagural Season in Europe

With sailings anywhere from four to 11 nights, the Disney Dream will sail from Barcelona and Rome to picturesque ports of call throughout the Mediterranean, including a first-ever seven-night sailing to the Greek Isles with stops in the ever-popular ports of Santorini and Mykonos.

Late summer/early fall departures of the Disney Dream from Southampton will feature cruises to a wealth of destinations including Spain, France, the British Isles, Norway and Iceland. New ports of call include the postcard-worthy La Rochelle, France and two new ports in Norway – Skjolden, home to a wealth of natural attractions, and Sandnes, a small city just outside the metropolis of Stavanger known for its outdoor activities.

Summer 2023 Sailings to Alaska aboard Disney Wonder

The breathtaking natural beauty of Alaska will combine with the magic of Disney on five-, seven- and nine-night sailings on the Disney Wonder from Vancouver, Canada. Beginning in May, cruisers will be invited to discover exciting ports like Ketchikan and Skagway, with their prehistoric glaciers, gold mining relics and spectacular land- and sea-life. Three Alaskan itineraries call at Icy Strait Point, home to a coastal rainforest, wilderness tours and – for thrill-seekers – ziplining above the treetops.

Tropical Escapes to the Bahamas and Caribbean from Florida

Sun-splashed tropical isles throughout the Bahamas and Caribbean will await Guests on three Disney Cruise Line ships from Florida in summer 2023.

Port Canaveral will also be the departure point for the Disney Fantasy for sailings ranging in length from five to ten nights. In addition to seven-night cruises to popular ports in the eastern and western Caribbean, Guests will also be able to experience a five-night Bahamian sailing with back-to-back calls at Castaway Cay, a 10-night southern Caribbean itinerary to the islands of Aruba and Bonaire and an eight-night cruise featuring two days on the beautiful pink sand beaches of Bermuda.

The Disney Magic will make its summer home in Miami for an assortment of exciting destinations. Starting May 27, the Disney Magic will sail four-night Bahamas cruises and five-night Western Caribbean voyages, followed by two seven-night sailings in July to the Eastern and Western Caribbean. Select summer voyages aboard the Disney Magic will include double days – for double the fun – at Castaway Cay.

Brief Update on the Disney Cruise Line Summer 2023 Itinerary Announcement

Hope you are all doing well, and those of you with Platinum and Gold Castaway Club status I hope you have been able to secure your preferred stateroom on one of the Summer 2023 sailings announced last week.

Not much new to report, but I did want to take this opportunity to let you know I’ve completed the validation process checking each of the summer 2023 sailings on Disney Cruise Line’s website to insure the port orders are accurate on our site. There were some modifications to the original announcement article . Most of the updates were breaking the sailings out into more specific itineraries based on the port order and in some cases for new itineraries, moving a sea day. Below are the new itinerary maps that have been added, 30 in total.

Map Dream 7 Night Mediterranean BCN TLN LIV CVV NAP SEA PMI

Thanks for your patience these last couple days as I worked through the new sailings. Reminder, Silver Castaway Club members will be able to book on Thursday May 5th following by open bookings next Monday, May 9th.

Scott, your commitment to keeping everyone informed and making it easily accessible is incredible. Thank you for your efforts! It is very appreciated ??

' src=

Chris, thank you.

' src=

Scott is there any notes regarding which cruises and date will have the Special US Military rates?

Traditionally, special rates are offered much closer to the sail date. Currently, there are special offers for sailings into September 2022.

' src=

Scott: brutally long, unreasonable hold times [4.5 hours and counting) and I have no choice but to hold since I was displaced from an original Wish June itinerary. Disney really needs to give us the autonomy on their website to re-apply old deposits to new cruise reservations as well as apply any applicable discounts in lieu of the uber-long phone hold times.

' src=

Thank you for the updates! Cruised on many other lines, but we have yet to cruise with Disney. Hopefully sooner rather than later!

' src=

I don’t see the 8-night on the Magic in early May 2023.

Tara, Thanks! The 8-night Souther Caribbean Cruise itinerary map has been added .

' src=

Thank you for all the great updates! I was wondering if I could ask some advice… I received one of those 50% discounts from the Wish cancellations. I had planned to use to book 2 rooms on one of the new 2023 cruises today but I get the error can only book 1 room on advance booking… Do you think if I were to book one room and then update the reservation on Monday to two they’d still apply the 50% to the second room? I don’t know if you’ve used the 50% off promo before, or if you know anyone who has… I believe I saw a comment either here or FB where someone was able to book 2 rooms with it, but I’m worried if I don’t book at the same time I’ll mess it up. Any advice is greatly appreciated 🙂

Tory, I am not exactly sure about the ‘fine print’ for the Wish 50% discounts. Given the situation, it is in your best interest to call in to see what they are able to do for you versus attempting to book online. I understand this is not ideal given the long hold times, but the website does not alway offer all available options, especially in unique situations.

Thanks Scott. I’ll try to give them a ring here this morning. So far every time I called I this morning it had the busy signal. 🙁 Unfortunately a couple weeks ago I had to call and cancel a cruise and spent 8.5 hours on hold before I got to speak to someone. I really hope DCL adds some more self service functionality to their website in future, it wouldn’t help in this situation but I’m sure would alleviate the call lines. 🙂 Thanks again!

' src=

With Platinum/Gold and Silver getting early booking days, Disney must know that a good proportion of those people will have a future Booking placeholder. They really need to add that functionality to their website rather than having people waiting hours (!) on hold. Crazy!

' src=

Hi Scott, just a note about the 9/9 Bermuda cruise on the Fantasy. The last day isn’t a day at sea – it’s showing as Nassau now.

Holly, Thank you! This was not a change after the fact, I just missed it. The itinerary and map have been updated for the September 9th cruise .

' src=

Hi Scott! Thank you for your hard work on this. I was looking for the 4 night Bahamas cruise on the Wish from Port Canaveral. I booked and my itinerary says we go from Port Canaveral to Nassau, then Castaway Cay. I didn’t see a picture of that version. Or did I miss it? Thanks again!

There are a number of different 4-night sailings . What is the sail date?

August 28, 2023

I just verified the port order for the 8/28/2023 sailings on DCL’s site and it matches what I have here .

I can’t believe I missed it! Thanks!

Elizabeth Rhodes/Travel + Leisure

For the first time, we’re spotlighting new cruise ships on Travel + Leisure ’s It List, as these exceptional vessels become more and more like floating resorts — celebrity chefs, crystal chandeliers, and Rolex boutiques included.

Explora Journeys’ Explora I

Paul Brady/Travel + Leisure

It’s not every day a new cruise line arrives. The debut of the remarkable Explora I was a moment years in the making for Explora Journeys , the upstart luxury operator that aims to bring a European sensibility to the world of vacations at sea. So far, the project is a smashing success, thanks to the ship’s low-key vibe, standout food and beverage, and intriguing itineraries that visit in-demand ports in Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Caribbean. My own August 2023 trip on Explora I , from Copenhagen to Hamburg, Germany, included fulfilling visits to places such as Oslo and the town of Stavanger, Norway, a gateway to adventurous hiking with a postcard-perfect Old Town. The ship itself was also a destination, with its abundance of outdoor space — including an alfresco fitness center — and pools at seemingly every turn. The 461 suites, all of them with balconies, are filled with luxurious touches such as Frette linens and robes, heated marble floors, and Dyson hair dryers. But Explora I truly shines when it comes to food: During the week I was aboard, it was impossible to find a bad meal — and I was often astonished at the quality of, in particular, the pasta served in the Emporium Marketplace and the sushi on offer at Sakura, two of the nine restaurants aboard. The most ambitious of them all is Anthology, a rotating-chef concept that has seen a residency from seafood whiz Mario Ulaissi, known for his Michelin three-starred restaurant on Italy's Adriatic coast, and that recently welcomed Emma Bengtsson, from Aquavit , in New York City. Much has been made of Explora I ’s Rolex boutique — the first on any cruise ship — but for my money, the other shops on board were more interesting: The company has tapped family-owned businesses around the world to create capsule collections of resort wear, handbags, fragrances, sunglasses, and beautiful gifts that can’t be found elsewhere. From $2,050 per person for a six-day sailing. Accessible ship. — Paul Brady

Oceania Cruises’ Vista

Nick Tortajada/Courtesy of Oceania Cruises

The new Oceania Vista is in a class of its own; no really, it’s the first in Oceania Cruises ’ new Allura class. Of its 11 bars and restaurants, three are entirely new to the Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings–owned brand — including a high-end cocktail spot called Founders’ Bar, serving 26 intricate drinks that use house-made syrups and top-shelf booze like Whistle Pig and parsley-infused Grey Goose. As Oceania levels up, the cruise line has produced a ship that feels more like a floating resort than the vessels that came before. There’s pickleball; a health-conscious restaurant, Aquamar, serving made-to-order salads and pressed juices; and a coffee shop that looks like one in walking distance of my home in L.A. (marble counters, gold accents, leather bar stools) and pulls an espresso shot of similar quality. Vista has more suites than others in the Oceania fleet, too: There are 14 Oceania Suites (up to 1,200 square feet); eight Vista Suites (up to 1,850 square feet); and three Owner’s Suites with Ralph Lauren Home decor and two massive terraces (2,400 square feet). But the most hotel-like touch? A celebrity chef–driven restaurant, Toscana, where Giada De Laurentiis — the ship’s godmother — supplied two recipes for the menu. As someone who watched a lot of Everyday Italian in the early aughts, I was particularly excited to try her signature, Capri-inspired lemon spaghetti, and lemon-cream sauce with grilled shrimp and capers didn’t disappoint. From $2,499 per person for a seven-night sailing. Accessible ship. — Maya Kachroo-Levine

Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ Seven Seas Grandeur

Courtesy of Regent Seven Seas Cruises

Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ sixth ship, the Seven Seas Grandeur , sailed its inaugural season in December, joining sibling ships Seven Seas Explorer and Seven Seas Splendor as the newest member of the luxury fleet. The cruise line is a favorite among T+L readers for its gorgeous ships and all-inclusive pricing that covers unlimited shore excursions, dining at specialty restaurants, and even round-trip airfare. Grandeur lives up to its name thanks to stunning, art-filled spaces designed by cruise ship interior experts Studio Dado: signature restaurant Compass Rose is enchanting with interiors inspired by a fairy-tale forest; the Observation Lounge sparkles with an undulating chandelier and swanky bar; and the $11,000-per-night Regent Suite has a private en suite spa and custom Treesse mini pool. As I boarded Grandeur for the ship’s inaugural sailing, I was mesmerized by the grand staircase and glittering chandelier. And with a maximum capacity of 744 guests, I found it easy to take time to myself in the myriad of quiet spots tucked throughout the ship, whether in the Serene Spa and Wellness area, in the Library, or on the Sports Deck overlooking the ocean. Seven restaurants include specialty steakhouse Prime 7, pan-Asian restaurant Pacific Rim, and breakfast and lunch buffet La Veranda, which refines the cruise buffet experience with daily specials like paella and sushi. Several bars and lounges, a pool and hot tubs, a casino, Broadway-style productions, and cooking classes at the Culinary Arts Kitchen make the ship a destination in itself, though guests will want to take advantage of those included excursions on Caribbean, Central American, North American, and European itineraries, ranging from seven to 16 nights, during the ship’s 2024 season. From $4,669 per person for a seven-night sailing. Accessible ship. — Elizabeth Rhodes

Silversea’s Silver Nova

Courtesy of Silversea Cruises

Carrying 728 passengers, Silver Nova is big for the luxury sector, but boasts a hugely important metric: a capacious passenger space ratio — that is, the number of guests relative to the size of the ship. Simply put, this ship offers more elbow room per passenger than almost any other cruise vessel. Silver Nova is wrapped in glass, with an asymmetrical layout; the funnel is positioned off-center, so is the pool, offering an expansive, uncluttered pool deck. Many features of the brand-new ship recall previous Silversea successes, my favorite of which is the S.A.L.T. (Sea And Land Taste) program, expanded for Silver Nova . S.A.L.T. perks include a gorgeous, sea-facing lab for hands-on culinary lessons (at no additional cost), plus a new concept, the Chef’s Table, where an 11-course menu is prepared for just 24 diners. All facets of the S.A.L.T. ecosystem, including ingredients, a bar, lectures, and shore excursions, are keyed to the region Nova is sailing. While food is a drawing card for Silver Nova , accommodations also received a revamp. Tied to the theme of bringing the outside in, there are brilliant new suites found in the aft starboard corner of the ship, with wraparound balconies revealing a 270-degree view.  This is where you can tuck me in when I win the lottery and head off on a world cruise. But until then, Silver Nova will summer in Alaska and spend northern hemisphere winters in Australia and New Zealand, places where top-deck views should prove ceaselessly rewarding. Very Merrytime cruises are a wonderful way to spend the holidays in a tropical paradise. The fleet is decked out in festive decorations, with Disney characters dressed for the holidays. Each year, these special sailings also include fun activities and entertainment to enjoy. And Disney just shared a first look at the entertainment guests can expect onboard Very Merrytime cruises this year — including some new additions!

This year, on the first night of all Very Merrytime sailings, guests can gather around the massive three-deck-tall tree in the atrium for a tree lighting ceremony. The event will include appearances from Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy, who will invite guests to sing along with classic holiday tunes as you count down to the lighting of the tree. Santa will even make an appearance as the guest of honor!

Another new addition this year will be Mickey and Minnie’s Holiday Party, where guests will be invited to the upper decks for a high-energy party thrown by Mickey and Minnie. The event will include music and appearances from your favorite Disney characters.

Sad reality of Tom Cruise and daughter Suri’s relationship

Long estranged from her famous father, as she turns 18 Suri Cruise faces a huge choice about which direction her life will now take.

Suri Cruise was once the most famous baby in America.

The arrival of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ daughter on April 18, 2006, sparked a global frenzy for the first glimpse of the A-list infant.

But it wasn’t until five months after her birth that she made her debut — on the cover of Vanity Fair, wrapped in the arms of her doting parents, in glossy photos taken by photographer to the stars, Annie Leibovitz.

Now she turns 18 this week and faces a choice: Whether to return to the level of fame she had as a kid — when there were blogs devoted to her fashion — or maintain the carefully-guarded life Holmes has built for her since she blindsided Cruise by filing for divorce.

Suri Cruise was a celebrity from infancy.

The dark-haired teen has grown up in Manhattan largely shielded from the spotlight by her loving and highly protective mum, 45, far removed from her 60-year-old father’s Church of Scientology.

As Page Six revealed last year, Suri is estranged from her famous father and the pair have no relationship.

An industry source told us this week that the Mission: Impossible star has not seen Suri since 2012. “Katie has safeguarded Suri and she’s a devoted mum,” the source said.

“This is a girl who is a private citizen. She hasn’t lived her life in public.”

Tom and baby Suri in the south of France circa 2007.

Holmes told Glamour magazine in 2023 that she likes to “protect” Suri from the public eye “because she was so visible at a young age.”

“I’m very grateful to be a parent, to be her parent. She’s an incredible person. She’s my heart,” she added.

Being the only daughter of a protective single parent is a stark contrast to how Suri’s life began, of course.

“My whole life I always wanted to be a father,” Cruise gushed to VF back in 2006.

“I always said to myself that my children would be able to depend on me and I would always be there for them and love them — that I’d never make a promise to my kids that I couldn’t keep.

“I’m not one of those people who believe you can spoil a child with too much love. You can never give a child too much love. There’s just no way.”

He already had two adopted children, Bella, now 31, and Connor, now 29, from his marriage to Nicole Kidman and after her Vanity Fair debut was happy to parade Suri for the paparazzi.

Cruise had famously declared their romance by jumping up and down on Oprah Winfrey’s couch in May 2005, yelling “I’m in love!”

But when Suri was just 6, Holmes filed for divorce after six years of marriage with the help of her dad, Martin Holmes, a fierce lawyer, and through a secret plan that entailed using burner phones.

Cruise was taken completely by surprise by the filing while he was on the set of Oblivion in Iceland in June 2012.

He and Suri were last seen together at Disney World in the summer of 2012.

In November 2013, during a deposition in his $US50 million court battle against a pair of tabloid magazines, the Top Gun star admitted that Holmes had filed for divorce “to protect Suri from Scientology,” court documents revealed.

Despite not having a relationship; as per their divorce agreement, Cruise, who has an estimated $US600 million fortune, agreed to pay Holmes $US400,000 a year until Suri turns 18 as well as future “medical, dental, insurance, education, college and other extra-curricular costs”.

Scientology lies at the heart of the question over Suri’s future.

Holmes, who rose to fame in the TV hit, Dawson’s Creek , is believed to have signed multiple nondisclosure documents that will prevent her from ever talking about her marriage to Cruise — and her time inside Scientology.

But when Suri turns 18, NY state declares that she is at the age of majority, when an individual is legally considered an adult.

That would allow her to speak about her father, his beliefs and their rift.

Tony Ortega, who has covered Scientology in depth for decades, told Page Six, “Suri would have been too young to sign any agreement, but she will now be free to talk if she wants to and it’s going to be really interesting if she has something to say.”

We have reached out to reps for Cruise, Holmes and the Church of Scientology.

“Part of why Katie left when she did when Suri was 6 was that Katie would have seen Isabella and Connor going through Scientology,” said Ortega.

Cruise is of course Scientology’s most famous follower and seen as one of its most powerful figures, possibly second only to its leader, David Miscavige.

That power has led Ortega and former Scientologists to question what action Miscavige and other top Scientologists may have taken against Holmes and her daughter.

Regular members who quit are declared “suppressive persons (SP)” and those who stay in Scientology are told to completely cut them off.

“We don’t know for sure if Katie was ever declared an SP,” Ortega said.

“If you are a regular church member you could be told to disconnect from your wife and daughter, but because Tom is a celebrity — he’s the top celebrity — he gets to ignore all this stuff.

“Your average member would be kicked out, but David Miscavige can’t do that with Tom.”

Both Mike Rinder and Jeff Augustine, two high-profile former Scientologists, agreed with this claim.

Augustine is married to Karen de la Carriere, who was one of the highest-ranking church leaders until she left in 2010 and told Page Six, “The situation with Suri is a larger story about Scientology and the subject of how they make people no longer useful to them or threats to them non-persons.

The family in 2006 … Picture: Getty

“It’s like they cease to exist and that’s what happened to Suri.”

Back in August 2020, Leah Remini — one of the most famous celebrities to leave and speak out against Scientology — told us that she believed Cruise, who now lives mainly in the UK, was waiting until Suri is older so he could indoctrinate her into Scientology.

Remini, who attended Cruise and Holmes’ November 2006 Italian wedding at the 15th-century Odescalchi Castle, said, “I’m sure his master plan is to wait until Suri gets older so that he can lure her into Scientology and away from her mother.”

Suri has tiptoed very gently into her parents’ showbusiness world while attending her exclusive Manhattan day school, singing B lue Moon in the opening credits of Holmes’ 2022 movie, Alone Together.

“I always want the highest level of talent,” Holmes said. “So I asked her! She’s very, very talented. She said she would do it and she recorded it, and I let her do her thing.”

Suri also sang in the film Rare Objects , which Holmes also directed.

Cruise proclaimed his love for Katie Holmes in his infamous 2005 Oprah interview.

Holmes will this year return to Broadway in a revival of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town .

She has not remarried but had a six-year romance with actor Jamie Foxx which she kept under the radar before their split in August 2019 and went on to have a brief fling with Nolita restaurateur Emilio Vitolo Jr. in 2021.

Holmes is careful not to speak out too much about her daughter, who is now preparing for college, once saying, “She came out very strong — she’s always been a strong personality.”

But she is now getting ready for her daughter to leave the nest.

“You want them to stay with you forever, but they’re these amazing beings, and you have to do everything you can to give them what they need — and then they’re going to go,” she told Town & Country in 2017.

“And that’s going to be very, very sad for me.”

As for the future, former Scientology spokesperson Mike Rinder, who has not seen his own two eldest children since he quit the organisation, told Page Six, “Suri is not a Scientologist and never will be … she deserves love and sympathy.”

This story originally appeared on Page Six and is republished here with permission.

The daughter of two very famous Australians has been spotted living her best life in Sydney.

Photos have emerged of one of Australia’s most successful actors offspring and they look just like their famous mum.

David Beckham’s innocent Instagram post about his daughter Harper, 12, has raised eyebrows among some of his followers.
