Songbook: The Ultimate Guide To Rihanna's Reign, From Her Record-Breaking Hits To Unforgettable Collabs

As the world eagerly awaits Rihanna's musical comeback, GRAMMY.com takes a deep dive into the superstar's catalog and celebrates her evolution from teen idol to beloved icon.

A chance meeting changed Rihanna 's life.

The singer was just 15 years old when she met producer Evan Rogers, who was vacationing with his wife in Barbados. Rogers recognized Rihanna's potential, and invited her to an audition in his hotel suite.

Shortly after her 16th birthday, Rihanna left her home country for the U.S. to record a demo, which included her breakthrough hit "Pon de Replay." The demo found its way into Jay-Z 's hands, and Hov signed the teen artist to Def Jam and the label expedited her 2005 debut album, aptly titled Music of the Sun .

"When I left Barbados, I didn't look back," Rihanna told Entertainment Weekly in 2007. "I wanted to do what I had to do [to succeed], even if it meant moving to America."

Twenty years later, Rihanna is a renowned entertainer-turned-mogul. She has sold over 40 million albums worldwide, garnered over 12 billion Spotify streams, achieved 14 Billboard Hot 100 chart-toppers, and won nine GRAMMY Awards. Even her business ventures have been a massive success, as her Fenty Beauty brand is worth $2.8 billion.

Though it's been close to a decade since Rihanna's last studio album, 2016's ANTI , she reminded the world of her reign with her 2023 Super Bowl halftime show — which also marked her first time taking the stage in five years. Performing hit after hit while unveiling a baby bump, her 13-minute set became one of the most-watched halftime shows of all time with over 121 million viewers.

In honor of Rihanna's 36th birthday on Feb. 20, GRAMMY.com is revisiting the monstrous hits, ambitious projects, brow-raising visuals, and iconic collabs that propelled her to international stardom — and why it's all put her in a league of her own.

A New Island Girl In Town

True to her Carribean heritage, Rihanna's dancehall-inspired debut single "Pon de Replay" earned the then 17-year-old Barbados native her first entry on the Hot 100 at an impressive No. 2. Her official introduction to the world also hit No. 1 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart; she boasts 33 on the tally, second behind only the Queen of Pop herself, Madonna .

Follow-up single "If It's Lovin' That You Want" stalled at No. 36 on the Hot 100, but still whetted fans' appetite — as did her debut album, Music of the Sun , which is mostly comprised of dance-pop and dancehall tracks with hints of R&B (like "Willing to Wait"). Plus, her reimagining of Dawn Penn's 1994 reggae classic "You Don't Love Me (No, No, No)" is still so fun to listen to after all these years.

A mere eight months later, Rihanna's sophomore effort, 2006's A Girl Like Me , arrived to an eager audience. Defying the sophomore slump, she celebrated her first No. 1 with the ubiquitous lead single "SOS," which famously samples Soft Cell's 1981 hit, "Tainted Love." While A Girl Like Me is filled with high-energy, danceable tracks (including the nostalgic "Break It Off" with Sean Paul ), Rihanna's second single was the melodramatic ballad "Unfaithful."

Penned by then-labelmate Ne-Yo , "Unfaithful" peaked at No. 6 on the Hot 100. More importantly, it showed a different side to Rihanna, proving that she could channel deep emotion when the performance calls for it. It also marked Rihanna's first time veering away from her "girl next door" image, as the song's subject matter deals with infidelity.

A Girl Like Me contains many fan favorites, from the laid-back "We Ride" to standouts "Dem Haters" and "Kisses Don't Lie." The latter is a reggae-rock hybrid that sounds like a catalyst for some of Rihanna's edgier tunes like "Breakin' Dishes" from 2007's Good Girl Gone Bad era. Touching ballads"Final Goodbye" and "A Million Miles Away" showcase her voice beautifully, foreshadowing later big-vocal numbers like "Love on the Brain."

An Icon In The Making

Rihanna was a familiar face by 2007, but with the arrival of her third studio album, Good Girl Gone Bad , she graduated from cookie-cutter pop star to bonafide icon.

Produced by Tricky Stewart , the LP's juggernaut lead single "Umbrella" featuring Jay-Z skyrocketed to No. 1 in 17 countries. Between striking images of Rihanna's silver-painted silhouette in the accompanying video and the now-iconic "ella-ella, eh, eh, eh" hook, "Umbrella" thrust the then 19-year-old into another stratosphere. Her confident delivery also commanded attention in a way fans and critics hadn't heard before.

The transformative era also birthed the gritty "Shut Up and Drive," on which Rihanna channels her inner rock star. The next two singles cracked the top 10: an affectionate duet with Ne-Yo,  "Hate That I Love You," which showed off Rihanna's softer side, and the party-starting, Michael Jackson -sampling "Don't Stop the Music," which cemented her place in the digital era.

The melancholy "Rehab" is a clever metaphor for lost love, co-written by Timbaland and Justin Timberlake . Despite being Good Girl Gone Bad 's lowest-charting single, Timberlake heralded the song as "the bridge for her to be accepted as an adult in the music industry."

Good Girl Gone Bad remains Rihanna's best-selling album and marks her greatest reinvention as she adopted a more rebellious sound. She also won her first GRAMMY in 2008 (Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for "Umbrella") and scored four other nominations, including Record Of The Year. The album's reissue spawned two more No. 1s: "Take a Bow" and "Disturbia," the latter of which acts like a prelude to Rated R , which saw Rihanna exploring darker themes.

Nine months before the release of 2009's Rated R , Rihanna was assaulted by then-boyfriend Chris Brown . On the deeply personal album, she translated her pain into art. Through lead single "Russian Roulette" and bitingly catchy anthems "Stupid in Love," "Fire Bomb," "Photographs," "Cold Case Love," and "The Last Song," Rihanna explored her angst and confusion.

But to focus solely on the domestic violence incident undermines Rihanna's artistic vision.

Following three multi-platinum albums in a three-year span, Rihanna's rebranding as a rebel at heart reached its apex. The singer had grown in leaps and bounds while taking musical risks, even penning nine of Rated R 's 13 tracks (she had no writing credits on Good Girl Gone Bad ).

The road to Rihanna's most badass anthems — including "Bitch Better Have My Money" — can be traced back to Rated R . Case in point: Her bravado is loud and clear on "Hard," "Wait Your Turn," and "G4L." On "Rockstar 101," which features legendary rocker Slash , Rihanna declares her power: "Six inch walker/ Big sh— talker/ I never play the victim/ I'd rather be a stalker."

Badgal RiRi returned to her dancehall roots on her fifth No. 1 "Rude Boy," which offsets the album's harrowing motif. Final single "Te Amo" didn't chart, but garnered a great deal of attention as the Latin-infused Stargate production depicts Rihanna being enticed by a female love interest.

Rated R showcased Rihanna's undeniable star power, and allowed her to shed her good-girl image once and for all.

A Partygoer's Dream

Following the career-pivoting Rated R , 2010's Loud offered a welcome return to the West Indian artist's earlier sound. The album feels like one big celebration of life, as evidenced by Rihanna's fire-engine red hair and No. 1 singles "Only Girl (In the World)" and "What's My Name?" (the latter of which was Rih's first collaboration with Drake ).

Best described as "Don't Stop the Music" 2.0, the effervescent "Only Girl" marked her eminent return to the dance floor and took home a GRAMMY for Best Dance Recording in 2011. While "What's My Name?" may not outshine Rih and Drizzy's other collabs — including 2011's "Take Care" or 2016's "Work" — the second she sings, "Hey, boy, I really wanna see if you can go downtown with a girl like me," it's impossible not to whine your waist to the riddim.

Easily one of Rihanna's most overlooked hits, "Cheers (Drink to That)" is built around an unexpected sample of Avril Lavigne 's 2002 hit "I'm With You," but it works surprisingly well as a party anthem. That same carefree spirit can be heard in the feminist track "Raining Men," which features Nicki Minaj — their first of two collabs, as they joined forces again for "Fly," the final single off the rapper's iconic Pink Friday album.

A playful ode to sadomasochism and bondage, "S&M" contains some of Rihanna's most provocative lyrics: "Sticks and stones may break my bones/ But chains and whips excite me," she declares on the chorus.

Banned in 11 countries upon its release, the accompanying video features Rihanna tied up in pink rope, dancing with a blowup doll, and donning a Playboy bunny-esque costume as damning newsreels about herself flash across the screen. But Rihanna's love of kink made her an even bigger star: "S&M" produced a remix with Britney Spears and earned Rihanna her 10th No. 1 single. With this feat, she became the youngest artist to attain the most chart-toppers in a five-year span.

On "Man Down," Rihanna's patois is in full effect as she takes listeners through a gripping tale about murdering her abuser. "What started out as a simple altercation/ Turned into a real sticky situation," she laments in the opening verse, amplified by siren noises in the background. There's something so satisfying about Rihanna's Bajan accent as she unfurls "Rum-pum-pum-pum" repeatedly over an intensifying reggae beat that would make Sister Nancy and Bob Marley proud.

Nominated for Album Of The Year at the 2021 GRAMMYs, Loud is Rihanna's second most commercially successful LP — and for good reason. It was especially refreshing to see Rihanna emerge from one of the darkest periods of her life as exuberant as ever.

An Unapologetic Queen

Sonically and thematically, Talk That Talk doesn't break new ground, but Rih's DGAF attitude is front and center with plenty of sexual innuendos: Songs like "S&M" and "Rude Boy" seem pretty tame next to "Cockiness (Love It)," which features longtime friend-turned-boyfriend A$AP Rocky on its remix. "Suck my cockiness/ Lick my persuasion/ Eat my poison/ And swallow your pride down, down," she commands in the tantalizing chorus.

At just over a minute long, "Birthday Cake" leaves nothing to the imagination ("It's not even my birthday, but he wanna lick the icing off"). Rihanna controversially released a full-length version in the form of a remix with Chris Brown.

On an album that mostly sees Rihanna singing about her sexual fantasies, "We All Want Love" pulls back the curtain as it reveals her desire for true love: "And some say love ain't worth the buck/ But I'll give my last dime/ To have what I've only been dreaming about."

Her longing continues in "Where Have You Been," which flaunts Rihanna's versatility, flipping Geoff Mack's 1959 country song "I've Been Everywhere" into an infectious EDM banger. Lead single "We Found Love" is undeniably the biggest hit to stem from the Talk That Talk era, spending 10 consecutive weeks atop the Hot 100.

Boosting Calvin Harris ' career, "We Found Love" presents one juxtaposition after the other: dark yet gleaming, euphoric yet sobering, fraught yet hopeful. Rihanna relies on more than just evocative lyrics to tell her story; accompanying synthesizers and alarm bells help to paint a picture as well. Met with controversy, its intense visuals portraying a drug-fueled, toxic relationship — and featuringwhat many speculated was a Chris Brown look-alike — earned RiRi a GRAMMY for Best Long Form Music Video in 2013.

Seven years into an already extraordinary career, 2012's Unapologetic became Rihanna's first album to debut at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart. Its lead single "Diamonds" resonated in an equally major way, giving Rih her 12th No. 1 on the Hot 100.

Written by Sia , the power ballad kicked off another exciting era for the Barbadian singer, who unleashes an impassioned vocal performance. One of Rihanna's most precious offerings to date, "Diamonds" emerged as a self-love mantra due to its uplifting "Shine bright like a diamond" chant.

Vocally, Rihanna's strength lies in her ability to evoke raw emotion à la "Stay." Featuring Mikky Ekko , the stripped-down, slow-burning piano ballad narrowly missed the top spot on the Hot 100 but gave Rihanna her 24th top 10 hit, surpassing Whitney Houston 's record of 23 in 2013.

Her swagger is boisterous in "Phresh Out the Runway," "Jump," and strip club anthem "Pour It Up," but "Nobody's Business" really drives home the album's theme of being unbothered. Her decision to join forces with Chris Brown yet again perplexed fans and critics alike, though the track itself is an irresistible production that features a genius interpolation of Michael Jackson's "The Way You Make Me Feel."

Further down the track list, "Love Without Tragedy / Mother Mary" is as autobiographical as it gets, and further taps into Rihanna's emotionally vulnerable side. "Mr. Jesus, I'd love to be a queen/ But I'm from the left side of an island/ Never thought this many people would even know my name," she pleads in the seven-minute two-parter.

Unapologetic spawned fewer hit singles compared to Rihanna's previous efforts. Its win for Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 2014 GRAMMYs, however, proved that Rihanna's reign wasn't letting up anytime soon.

While recording her then-forthcoming album, ANTI , Rihanna delivered what is arguably the single most unapologetic moment of her career: "Bitch Better Have My Money." The backstory is almost inconceivable given Rihanna's awe-inspiring billionaire status, but in 2009, Rihanna faced bankruptcy due to her accountants mishandling her funds — and thus "Bitch" was born six years later in 2015.

With lyrics like "Your wife in the backseat of my brand new foreign car" over a cryptic-sounding trap beat and an accompanying video depicting kidnapping and torturing her debtors, "Bitch" is not for the faint-hearted. The one-off single is so quintessentially Rihanna that it notably kicked off her Super Bowl halftime show.

An In-Demand Collaborator

While bestowing hit after hit on her own, Rihanna generously lent her distinct voice to some of her biggest peers. 2008 marks one of the earliest instances of her Midas touch: She flirts with funk in Maroon 5 's underappreciated "If I Never See Your Face Again" before hopping on T.I .'s "Live Your Life," which shot straight to No. 1 on the Hot 100.

In 2009, Rihanna joined Jay-Z and Kanye West for the militant "Run This Town," sounding defiant as ever in the intro. She was called upon again for West's horn-laden "All of the Lights," flying solo on the hook followed by a star-studded choir that included Alicia Keys , John Legend , Fergie , and Elton John . Both larger-than-life productions won GRAMMYs for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration in 2010 and 2012, respectively.

In between joining forces with Hov and Ye, Rihanna assisted Eminem in "Love the Way You Lie," which struck a nerve with many for its gut-wrenching lyrics shedding a light on abusive relationships. (Rih recorded an equally moving sequel for her Loud album.) Three years later, the two confronted their inner demons in "The Monster," and their musical chemistry scored a GRAMMY in 2015 for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.

Amid smash collabs, Rihanna and Coldplay 's intricate "Princess of China" number gets lost in the shuffle, but it speaks to her charm as it's the band's first album (2011's Mylo Xyloto ) to feature another artist. Another overlooked jam, her sultry "Can't Remember to Forget You" duet with Shakira sees both stars trade lines about struggling to let go of an undeserving lover.

On paper, a collaboration between Rihanna, Kanye West, and Sir Paul McCartney may seem strange, but the unlikely trio is further proof that opposites attract. Their "FourFiveSeconds" is a pop-folk hybrid with a universal message about carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. It's yet another example of Rihanna's willingness to push past her comfort zone to create something unique.

A year later, Rihanna got listeners on their feet by way of the Taylor Swift -penned "This Is What You Came For" with Calvin Harris. Understated compared to the duo's previous megahits ("We Found Love" and "Where Have You Been"), Harris' signature DJing style and Rih's ethereal vocals are a perfect match.

In 2017, Rih, DJ Khaled and Bryson Tiller dropped the song of the summer with "Wild Thoughts," which heavily borrows from Carlos Santana 's 1999 GRAMMY-winning "Maria Maria." It may be DJ Khaled's song, but RiRi owns it from the very moment she utters, "I don't know if you could take it/ Know you wanna see me nakey, nakey, naked." The bop reached No. 2 on the Hot 100.

She spits bars in Kendrick Lamar 's "Loyalty" and "Lemon" with N.E.R.D. , the latter of which comes close to rivaling your favorite rappers' verses: "You can catch me, Rih, in the new La Ferrar'/ And the truck behind me got arms/ Yeah, longer than LeBron/ Just waitin' for my thumb like The Fonz."

No matter what genre Rihanna touches or what artist she links up with, she brings her full self to each session whilst completely immersing herself into the music — taking on different personas to make the collab well worth it.

An Artist Fully Realized

With 13 No. 1s and twice as many top 10 hits under her belt, Rihanna set out to create timeless music instead of chasing a radio-friendly formula with her 2016 magnum opus, ANTI .

But that shift began with 2015's criminally underrated "American Oxygen." Her most political statement at the time, the goosebump-inducing lyrics detail Rihanna's journey as an immigrant, foreshadowing her then soon-to-be massive Fenty Beauty success. "We sweat for a nickel and a dime/ Turn it into an empire," she sings in the chorus.

Released four years after Unapologetic — her longest gap between albums at the time — ANTI illustrated Rihanna's greater desire for quality over quantity. "I needed the music to match my growth," she told Vogue in 2016 about the making of ANTI . "I didn't want to get caught up with anything the world liked, anything the radio liked, anything that I liked, that I've already heard. I just wanted it to be me."

The black-and-white, red paint-splattered album cover signals a rebirth, featuring a real-life image of Rihanna as a child. ANTI lives up to its name in its first 40 seconds, via opening track "Consideration." The minute she declares, "I got to do things my own way, darling," it's apparent that ANTI is not your average Rihanna album.

Lead single "Work" is the closest to pre- ANTI Rihanna on an album that defies expectations. But the dancehall masterpiece is one of a kind for Rih's refusal to water down the Jamaican patois (different from her native language of Bajan Creole) — proving that she is fully aware of her impact as one of the biggest Caribbean-born artists to make it in the U.S.

Many non-understanding listeners described it as "gibberish" at the time. Yet, the general public didn't seem to mind: About a month after its release, "Work" became Rihanna's 14th and longest-running chart-topper on the Hot 100. Weeks later, ANTI became her second LP to top the Billboard 200 chart. Subsequently, Rihanna held the No. 1 spots on the Billboard 200 and Hot 100 simultaneously, her second time achieving such an impressive feat.

ANTI is full of pleasant surprises that show off her artistry. Rihanna comes out of left field with the Prince -inspired "Kiss It Better," the album's second single, which sees the superstar falling back on addictive sex that "feels like crack" to justify a destructive relationship. "Same Ol' Mistakes" is a cover of psychedelic rock band Tame Impala 's "New Person, Same Old Mistakes" — her first time remaking another artist's song for her own album since "You Don't Love Me (No, No, No)" on Music of the Sun . The Western-themed "Desperado" lends itself particularly well to covers by country artists, while the Dido -sampling "Never Ending" conveys the uncertainty she feels about entering a new relationship.

Elsewhere on ANTI , Rihanna drunk dials an ex ("Higher"), compares smoking weed to her lover ("James Joint"), and chastises a guy for getting emotionally attached after their fling ("Needed Me"). The latter song contains one of Rihanna's most empowering lyrics: "Didn't they tell you that I was a savage?/ F— ya white horse and ya carriage," she asserts in the pre-chorus.

Her voice sounds stronger than ever on "Love on the Brain," a doo-wop ballad resembling Etta James . But Rihanna makes it her own thanks to the bluntness of lines like "It beats me black and blue but it f— me so good."

The deep cuts on ANTI aren't merely fillers, and even rival some of the album's biggest hits. For instance, "Sex with Me" is featured on the deluxe edition as a bonus track, but managed to crack the Hot 100 at No. 83 and reach No. 8 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart. Furthermore, the deluxe edition consists of 16 tracks, half of which topped the Dance Club Songs chart — smashing the record (previously held by Katy Perry 's Teenage Dream ) for the most No. 1s from a single album.

Accolades aside, ANTI is proof that magic happens when an artist of Rihanna's caliber follows their own instincts in pursuit of creating a body of work — one that can outlast them and continue to inspire generations to come.

Ever since ANTI , Rihanna's devoted fanbase has been begging for a new album, with Rih playfully trolling them with responses like "I lost it" and Instagram captions that read, "Me listening to R9 by myself and refusing to release it."

Her much-awaited return to music came at the tail end of 2022. The hitmaker twice contributed to the GRAMMY-nominated Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack: "Born Again" and "Lift Me Up," the latter of which helped Rihanna score her first Oscar and Golden Globe nominations in 2022 and 2023, respectively. With the glorious "Lift Me Up," she found herself in the top 10 for the first time since 2017's "Wild Thoughts."

While the world is still anticipating her ninth studio album, Rihanna — now a mom of two boys — continues to make her own rules and move at her own pace. But as she's proven time and time again, it's always worth the wait.

A Timeline Of Drake's GRAMMY Moments, From His First Win To Performances & Beefs

Drake's relationship with the GRAMMYs has been all over the map. The five-time GRAMMY winner's comments about the Awards have sparked debate, as has his relationship to submitting his work for consideration.

When Drake attended his first GRAMMY Awards in 2010, he was 23 and hadn’t yet released a debut album. By the time he received his nominations for the 2024 GRAMMYs — Best Rap Album, Best Rap Performance and Best Melodic Rap Performance for his collaborations with 21 Savage —  he was Spotify’s most-streamed artist of all time, and the holder of more Billboard chart records than we can possibly list in this intro.

In between, his relationship with the Academy’s yearly showcase has been all over the map. He’s lost (mostly), won (five times), and performed alongside some of pop culture’s biggest names. But more to the point, starting in 2017 his public comments about — and during — the GRAMMYs have sparked debate. He’s gone back and forth about submitting his music for consideration, and even went as far as to demand that nominations be retracted (more on that later).

Drake is nominated for Best Rap Album among other awards at the 2024 GRAMMYs . Here is a year-by-year account of the relationship between one of music’s biggest stars and Music’s Biggest Night.

2010 — 52nd GRAMMY Awards

Nominations: Best Rap Song ("Best I Ever Had"), Best Rap Solo Performance ("Best I Ever Had")

Performances: "Drop the World"/"Forever" with Eminem , Lil Wayne , and Travis Barker

This was Drizzy’s first GRAMMYs, and he was still green enough that he got "reassurance" from Eminem in advance of their performance.

"He was like, 'Man, anytime you need to look over at me, don't get nervous. Just look over at me, man, and I'll give it back to you. Everything will be all right. Don't be nervous.' For him to say that to me — I feel like that was an important moment," Drake told MTV News at the time.

His first two nominations, both for "Best I Ever Had," came before he had even put out his debut album. And as you can see in an interview at the event, the awards circuit was new enough that his mother’s reaction to finding out that Drake was nominated was to text him a bunch of swear words.

"I think she was excited," the rapper joked to a CNN reporter.

2011 — 53rd GRAMMY Awards

Drake performs with Rihanna

Nominations: Best New Artist, Best Rap Album ( Thank Me Later ), Best Rap Solo Performance ("Over"), Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group ("Fancy" with Swizz Beatz and T.I. )

Performances: "What’s My Name" (with Rihanna )

This is the year that seems to sting Drake the most. Best New Artist was a tough battle, with Drizzy, Justin Bieber , Mumford & Sons , and Florence + the Machine in the mix. All of them lost to Esperanza Spalding , in a major upset .

Drake’s bitterness about the moment lingers to this day. On his most recent album For All the Dogs , he has a surprisingly angry lyric about it: "Four GRAMMYs to my name, a hundred nominations/ Esperanza Spalding was gettin' all the praises/ I'm tryna keep it humble, I'm tryna keep it gracious/ Who give a f— Michelle Obama put you on her playlist?/ Then we never hear from you again like you was taken."

2012 — 54th GRAMMY Awards

Nominations: Album Of The Year (Rihanna’s Loud , as featured artist), Best Rap Performance ("Moment 4 Life" with Nicki Minaj ), Best Rap/Sung Collaboration ("I’m On One" with DJ Khaled , Rick Ross , and Lil Wayne; "What’s My Name" with Rihanna)

This was Drake’s first year as a presenter, so he appears to be moving up in the award show hierarchy. But that doesn’t help him with hardware — he still goes home empty-handed.

This is also the time that he has multiple nominations in the same category (in this case, two in Best Rap/Sung Collaboration), which is also a trend that would repeat throughout the years.

2013 — 55th GRAMMY Awards

Wins: Best Rap Album ( Take Care )

Nominations: Best Rap Performance ("HYFR [Hell Ya F—king Right]" with Lil Wayne), Best Rap Song ("The Motto" with Lil Wayne)

He finally wins! Drake gets his first victory (for Best Rap Album). Also, he is the only Canadian to win that year (sorry, Loreena McKennitt!) However, the big moment wasn't telecast and Drizzy hadn’t yet arrived at the ceremony. In a charming interview from later in the night, Drake recalled jumping out of his car in the middle of traffic to celebrate. There’s also a video of him receiving his GRAMMY in the mail after the fact, which is notable for him immediately taking a celebratory drink from the trophy.

2014 — 56th GRAMMY Awards

Nominations: Album Of The Year ( Kendrick Lamar ’s good kid, m.A.A.d city , as featured artist), Best Rap Album ( Nothing Was the Same ), Best Rap Performance ("Started From the Bottom"), Best Rap Song ("Started From the Bottom"; "F—in’ Problems" with ASAP Rocky , 2 Chainz , and Kendrick Lamar)

Drake gets five nominations — and again two in one category — with no wins. It’s hard to pinpoint where the tide might have turned regarding the rapper’s feelings about the institution, but this ceremony may well have been it.

2015 — 57th GRAMMY Awards

Nominations: Album Of The Year ( Beyoncé 's Beyoncé , as featured artist), Best Rap Performance ("0 to 100 / The Catch Up"), Best Rap Song ("0 to 100 / The Catch Up"), Best Rap/Sung Collaboration ("Tuesday" with ILoveMakonnen)

Once again Drake gets an Album Of The Year nomination…for someone else’s album. It’s now the third time this has happened, following Rihanna and Kendrick Lamar. Still, four nominations during a year with no new album is impressive, and shows just how much of a fixture The Boy has become in the pop firmament at this point.

2016 — 58th GRAMMY Awards

Nominations: Best Rap Album ( If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late ), Best Rap/Sung Collaboration ("Only" with Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, and Chris Brown ), Best Rap Performance ("Back to Back"; "Truffle Butter" with Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne), Best Rap Song ("Energy")

From four nominations in 2015 to five this year, tying his personal best from 2014. They are all for rap-related awards, perhaps because Drake didn’t release a "proper" album that might have ended up in one of the big categories — If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late had a convoluted rollout.

2017 — 59th GRAMMY Awards

Wins: Best Rap/Sung Performance ("Hotline Bling"), Best Rap Song ("Hotline Bling")

Nominations: Album Of The Year ( Views ), Best Rap Album ( Views ), Record Of The Year ("Work" with Rihanna), Best Pop Duo/Group Performance ("Work" with Rihanna), Best R&B Song ("Come and See Me" with PartyNextDoor), Best Rap Performance ("Pop Style" with The Throne)

The results of this year marked the beginning of Drake’s public issues with the GRAMMYs. Drake didn't attend the ceremony and, in an interview just after the ceremony, he pushed back against his own victory, upset that "Hotline Bling," a song with no rapping, won two rap awards.

"Last night at that awards show, I’m a Black artist," he said. "I’m apparently a rapper, even though ‘Hotline Bling’ is not a rap song. The only category that they can manage to fit me in is in a rap category, maybe because I’ve rapped in the past or because I’m Black."

He was also upset that his hit "One Dance" wasn’t nominated in any general categories.

"There’s pop obligations that [the Recording Academy] have," he said. "And I fluked out and got one of the biggest songs of the year, that is a pop song, and I’m proud of that. I love the rap world and I love the rap community, but I write pop songs for a reason. I want to be like Michael Jackson .

"I won two awards last night, but I don’t even want them for some reason," he continued. "It just feels weird. It feels like you’re purposely trying to alienate me or pacify me by handing me something, putting me in that [rap] category because it’s the only place you can figure out where to put me."

Perhaps because of these issues — it was never confirmed — he never submitted his 2018 project More Life for GRAMMY consideration. Regardless, he ended up with no nominations the following year.

2019 — 61st GRAMMY Awards

Wins: Best Rap Song ("God’s Plan")

Nominations: Album Of The Year ( Scorpion ), Best Rap Performance ("Nice for What"; "Sicko Mode" with Travis Scott , Swae Lee, and Big Hawk), Best Rap Song ("Sicko Mode" with Travis Scott, Swae Lee, and Big Hawk), Record Of The Year ("God’s Plan"), Song Of The Year ("God’s Plan")

This was a year that heightened the Drake/Recording Academy tension even further. First, he turned down a chance to perform during the ceremony. And then, during his acceptance speech for Best Rap Song, Drizzy let awards shows have it.

"We play in an opinion-based sport, not a factual-based sport," he began. "Look, the point is, you already won if you have people singing your songs word for word, if you’re a hero in your hometown. You’re already winning, you don’t need this right here."

The broadcast went to commercial while he was still talking, something that fans thought was an intentional slight. The Academy said otherwise.

"During Drake’s speech there was a natural pause during his speech and at that moment the producers did assume that he was done and then cut to commercial," the Academy said in an official statement. "However the producers did speak with Drake following his speech and did offer him to come back on stage to finish whatever his thoughts were, but Drake said he was happy with what he said and didn’t have anything to add to it."

2020 — 62nd GRAMMY Awards

Nominations: Best R&B Song ("No Guidance" with Chris Brown), Best Rap Song ("Gold Roses" with Rick Ross)

Drake didn’t publicly react to his two losses this year, but he did speak out on a friend’s behalf. The superstar was upset that The Weeknd didn’t receive any nominations, and said so in an Instagram story. He went far enough as to say that awards shows like the GRAMMYs "may no longer matter" to up-and-coming artists.

"I think we should stop allowing ourselves to be shocked every year by the disconnect between impactful music and these awards and just accept that what once was the highest form of recognition may no longer matter to the artists that exist now and the ones that come after," Drake wrote. "It’s like a relative you keep expecting to fix up but they just can’t change their ways.

"The other day I said @theweeknd was a lock for either album or song of the year along with countless other reasonable assumptions and it just never goes that way," he continued. "This is a great time for somebody to start something new that we can build up over time and pass on to the generations to come."

He went on to list artists he believed should be been nominated: Lil Baby , Pop Smoke, Party Next Door, Popcaan, and "too many missing names to even name."

2021 — 63rd GRAMMY Awards

Nominations: Best Rap Song ("Laugh Now Cry Later" with Lil Durk ), Best Melodic Rap Performance ("Laugh Now Cry Later" with Lil Durk), Best Music Video ("Life Is Good" with Future )

Drake again misses out on everything he’s nominated for, which might have something to do with what happened the following year.

2022 — 64th GRAMMY Awards

Nominations: Best Rap Album ( Certified Lover Boy ), Best Rap Performance ("Way 2 Sexy" with Future and Young Thug) - Both withdrawn

Things came to a boiling point in 2022. Drake was nominated for two awards, but his management asked the Academy to remove the nominations, which they did.

2023 — 65th GRAMMY Awards

Wins: Best Melodic Rap Performance ("Wait For U" with Future and Tems )

Nominations: Album Of The Year (Beyoncé’s Renaissance , as songwriter), Best Rap Song ("Wait For U" with Future and Tems, "Churchill Downs" with Jack Harlow )

Drake didn’t submit any material for GRAMMY consideration this time around, but it didn’t stop him from receiving four nominations, and winning once.

There was one other unexpected Drake-related Grammy moment this year as well. Several days before the ceremony, he made a speech at the Black Music Collective’s Recording Academy Honors event praising one of the evening’s honorees, Lil Wayne. Even when paying tribute to his mentor, Drake seemed to be referencing his ongoing issues with the Academy. His knowing winks to the camera whenever he said the phrase “Black Music Collective” appeared to be a nod to his ongoing complaints that contemporary Black artists were being ignored by the Grammys.

2024 — 66th GRAMMY Awards

Nominations: Best Rap Album ( Her Loss with 21 Savage), Best Rap Song ("Rich Flex" with 21 Savage"), Best Rap Performance ("Rich Flex" with 21 Savage), Best Melodic Rap Performance ("Spin Bout U" with 21 Savage)

In a sign that a change might be underway in the often-stormy relationship between Drake and the GRAMMYs, the rapper actually submitted material for nomination for the 2024 GRAMMYs. His collaboration with 21 Savage, Her Loss , was put up for Album of the Year (which it didn’t get a nom for) and Best Rap Album (which it did). The songs "Rich Flex" and "Spin Bout U" were also offered up in multiple categories, and each ended up with nominations.

Artists Who Are Going On Tour In 2024: The Rolling Stones, Drake, Olivia Rodrigo & More

The year is just getting started, but 2024 is already stacked with exciting tours. Open up your calendar and start planning with this sprawling list of announced 2024 tours.

Just a couple of years ago, live music still looked uncertain — would variant X, Y or Z derail the train for the umpteenth time? But in that regard, 2023 felt almost totally in the clear — and that's why it feels like the rubber band is stretched back for 2024, and it's ready to launch.

New Music Friday: Listen To New Songs From Andre 3000, Drake, Ozuna & More

From long-awaited debut albums to surprising singles, listen to these six new releases from Nov. 17.

With Thanksgiving around the corner, this New Music Friday offers us a feast of new sounds from some of the music industry’s biggest artists.

Country star Maren Morris teamed up with Teddy Swims for a passionate duet version of his song "Some Things I'll Never Know," while Steve Aoki & ERNEST paired up for an energetic dance/country crossver, "Us," from Aoki’s HiROQUEST 2: Double Helix.

American band Bleachers unleash their wild side with "Alma Matter," from their upcoming self-titled album dropping March 8, 2024. Meanwhile, alternative rock band Bad Suns released their catchy, six-track EP Infinite Joy. Across the pond, long-time British rockers Madness released their 13th album, Theatre Of the Absurd Presents C’Est La Vie .

With sultry sounds from R&B songstress Ari Lennox to mellow, indie rhythms from Dermot Kennedy to upbeat, radiant vibes from the duo Surfaces , this Friday brings a kaleidoscope of sounds from across every genre.

Along with the slew of releases mentioned above, press play on releases from the likes of André 3000 , Drake , Ozuna , Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz , Danny Brown, and Bibi and Becky G — and be sure to add some new sounds to your rotation.

André 3000 - New Blue Sun

If you’ve seen Andre 3000’s impromptu flute performances in the past few years, then the GRAMMY winner's new sound won’t come as a shock. On his eight-track debut solo album New Blue Sun , the Outkast member experiments with wind instruments and percussion, creating serene and melodic compositions.

Across eight elaborately titled tracks  — "I swear, I Really Wanted To Make A "Rap" Album But This Is Literally The Way The Wind Blew Me This Time" and "That Night In Hawaii When I Turned Into A Panther And Started Making These Low Registered Purring Tones That I Couldn’t Control… Shyt Was Wild," — Andre details his artistic journey and the possibility of returning to rap music. Because, as Andre has told numerous outlets, New Blue Sun is not a rap album.

"I get beats all the time. I try to write all the time. People think, Oh, man, he’s just sitting on raps, or he’s just holding these raps hostage. I ain’t got no raps like that," he told GQ.

In the future, fans might see 3000 return to the rap universe but in the meantime, let’s enjoy the ambience of the blue sun.

Drake - For All The Dogs Scary Hours Edition

It’s not Scorpio season without a release from the scorpion king himself, Drake . In the latest installment of his Scary Hours series, Drake brought in a heavy-hitter lineup of producers including Lil Yatchy and Alchemist .

With songs surrounding themes of betrayal and broken trust (an the less-than-subtle chant "F— My Ex" more than 10 times in one song), For All The Dogs Scary Hours Edition shows how deep the Certified Lover Boy is in his feelings.

Drake brings out his Swiftie side in the track, "Red Button," shouting out Taylor Swift with lyrics "Taylor Swift the only n—- that I ever rated/ Only one could make me drop the album just a little later/ Rest of y’all, I treat you like you never made it." Seems that the big-ups and grudges heard on October's For All The Dogs translate to Scary Hours , too.

His song "Evil Ways" features J. Cole , increasing anticipation for their joint tour, which was announced on Nov. 13.

Ozuna - Cosmo

After receiving a nod for Best Reggaeton Performance and performing with David Guetta at the 2023 Latin GRAMMYs , Puerto Rican Singer Ozuna dropped his sixth album, Cosmo . Filled with soon-to-be dance floor staples, Cosmo highlights Ozuna's versatility.

Songs like "El Pin" and "La Chulita" are full of infectious dance and Afrobeats influences, yet stay true to his reggaeton roots. The 15-track record also includes collaborations with Jhayco , Chenco Corleone , Anuel and David Guetta .

"When you think of a colorful image, you think of youth. When people listen to this album, I want them to take it seriously," Ozuna said in an interview with the Fader . "People want to hear what’s real, what’s clear-cut, in black and white.”

The goal, he continued, is to allow "people to know who the real Ozuna is."

2 Chainz, Lil Wayne - Welcome 2 Collegrove

Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz have joined forces once again to release their second joint album, Welcome 2 Collegrove. The album’s title is a melding of 2 Chainz's hometown of College Park, Georgia, with Lil Wayne’s Hollygrove, Louisiana.

Welcome 2 Collegrove includes features from a cross-section of hip-hop and R&B greats, including Usher , 21 Savage , Rick Ross , Benny The Butcher and Fabolous . Tracks like "Presha" and "Long Story Short" bring back the duo’s classic rap sound from their 2016 project COLLEGROVE , and show their ability to create hip-hop anthems. The special guest artists add even more depth to their songs.

Danny Brown - Quaranta

After a four year break, Detroit rapper Danny Brown is back with his seventh album, Quaranta . A departure from his earlier, more club-centric music, the 11-track album offers a new perspective in Brown’s life.

Quaranta is a turning point in Brown's musical journey, where he reflects on themes of regret, self-destructive behavior, and growth. While songs like "Ain’t My Concern" and "Celibate" still include his signature flair of fast, high-pitched verses, this album takes on a more mature and introspective route.

Bibi feat. Becky G - "Amigos"

On "Amigos," South Korean singer Bibi teamed up with Latin star Becky G for a multicultural but ever-relatable track that focuses on being hung up on past lovers despite having someone new in their life. "I know we had a good time and that you always want more / But if my boyfriend calls, we’re just friends, nothing more," they sing in Spanish.

"Amigos" is rife with hip-hop influences — a genre Bibi loves.

"Expressing oneself through lyrics is so real and genuine," BIBI told AllKPop . "As I’m someone who wasn’t necessarily gifted with natural musical talent — I didn’t even know the difference between boom bap or trap beats until way later. I think the other factors of music organically followed as I grew as an artist."

Drake ‘Definitely’ Planning European Tour In 2024 Following J. Cole Trek

Drake has expressed interest in touring Europe next year after his joint concert run with J. Cole concludes in March.

During a Kick stream with Roshtein that went live on Monday (December 18), Drizzy revealed plans of extending his live act across the pond and beyond.

“I think I’m going to tour in Europe,” he told the host, before clarifying it with more certainty. “Oh, that’s maybe an exclusive — yeah, oh, I’m definitely going on a Europe tour next year … we obviously have a tour coming up [in] January …”

Check out the Canadian superstar’s plans slip out on the platform backed by the online casino Stake, which he has a ( reportedly $100M/year ) sponsorship deal with:

Drake and J. Cole have had huge success together lately, with their No. 1 hit “First Person Shooter.” Last month, the duo took the next logical step in their partnership and announced that they will be hitting the road next year .

In mid-November, The 6 God unveiled an upcoming leg of his It’s All a Blur Tour . On 18 of those 22 shows, he will be joined by the Dreamville boss in what is being billed as It’s All a Blur — Big As the What?

The blockbuster tour is produced by Live Nation and sponsored by Cash App and Visa. Cash App has had a big presence in arena rap lately, with a commercial starring Kendrick Lamar playing between acts during the rapper’s recent jaunt.

Cole and Drake will begin their co-headlining tour on January 18 in Denver, Colorado, and Cole will continue with the trek through March 10 in Lexington, Kentucky. The “Hotline Bling” hitmaker will perform the final four shows of the tour — including a Long Island show just 7.7 miles from Cole’s alma mater, St. John’s University — without the North Carolina rhymer.

The tour announcement came just over a month after Drake told the world that he would be taking a year off from making music in order to focus on his health .

Thanks for contacting us. We've received your submission.

Drake sings onstage in front of a purple backdrop.

While no official tour announcement has been made, Drake recently shared he was going on tour in 2023 via a guest appearance on Stake’s livestream with Swedish Twitch streamer Roshtein.

“Ah, man, I can’t wait to see the people, “Drake said while speaking with Roshtein and smoking hookah in a dimly lit backyard with a pool behind the two of them.

The tour will be his first since his 2018 “Aubrey & The Three Migos Live!” Tour.

In 2022, he performed a single concert in his native Toronto as part of his annual OVO Fest alongside Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne.

“It’s like one thing to make the music but to see it is the most gratifying feeling,” Drake continued. “It’s different when you’re performing, you look out in the crowd, someone locks eyes with you and you can just tell it’s a moment.”

Since Drake’s last tour, he has released five albums: 2019’s “Care Package,” 2020’s “Dark Lane Demo Tapes,” 2021’s “Certified Lover Boy” and 2022’s “Honestly, Nevermind” and “Her Loss.”

Tickets and tour information are not yet available for the upcoming run of 2023 shows but expect to hear more in the coming weeks.

Want more context?

You can see Drake’s official 71-minute conversation which includes quite a bit of virtual gambling with Roshtein below— the two discuss the tour at length around the 12-minute mark.

Drake, full name Aubrey Drake Graham, is a Canadian rapper and actor from Toronto, Ontario. Born in 1986, Drake first rose to fame as an actor but was signed to Young Money Entertainment in 2009.

At the age of 20, Drake self-released his first mix-tape, “Room For Improvement”, which featured artists such as Lupe Fiasco and Trey Songz on the tracks. The quality of the work on this first mix tape won Drake a steady following on the underground rap scene which he grew with the release of his second and third mix tapes, “Comeback Season” and “So Far Gone”. The release of “So Far Gone” saw fans download the mix tape over 2000 times in the first two hours of its release. Two tracks from the album, “Best I Ever Had” and “Successful” hit the number one and number two positions on the US Rap charts, respectively.

This success sparked a bidding war amongst various record labels to get Drake onto their rosters. Young Money Entertainment, owned by Drake’s mentor Lil Wayne, came out successful and signed the rapper in 2009. Drake’s studio albums, including “Thank Me Later”, “Take Care” and “Nothing Was the Same”, have reached the number one spot on the US Billboard chart and each has been certified Platinum.

Drake has had multiple multi-platinum selling singles, but his most successful singles include “Hold On We’re Going Home”, "Headlines", "Take Care", "Make Me Proud", and "The Motto" (where Drake was credited with popularising the acronym YOLO).

Already the winner of one Grammy Award for his 2013 album, “Take Care”, Drake has also won a host of other awards from bodies such as the BET Awards, the MTV VMAs and the Juno Awards. Drake has won millions of fans across the world as a result of the six tours he has completed since 2010. With his work ethic and talent, there is no doubt that Drake’s hard-earned success will continue for quite some time.

Live reviews

Drake's energy on the stage is just incomparable to anybody I've seen. The way he connects with the crowd is unbelievable. I think that his energy on stage just get the crowd more hyped up so it's an all around good show whenever Drake performs. From "So Far Gone" to "Nothing Was The Same," his style and the way he gets his message across have stayed the same. That's the best thing about aging, you get better as time progresses and I think that his albums are a definite reminder of how lyrically and musically talented he is. Many artist make one or two good albums, maybe a song or two every now and then, but Drake has consistently been at the top releasing good music and is just on fire. It's easier to get to the top than to stay there, but he's proving to everyone that he has enough to get to the top and knock anyone down who try's to take him down.

I love how he makes his music to fit any type of mood that you're feeling. His music isn't just slow R&B, he has some up-tempo music that will get you feeling pumped up and ready to go. I also love how he isn't like a Lil Wayne type of rapper who just uses auto tune and throws random gun verses in his songs. Every song is well thought out, every line is placed just right, the words flow with the beat and it's just magic. Even if you don't like Drake, when "Hold on, We're Going Home" comes on you're going to start singing. His songs are just too catchy, and are just classic, so 30 years from now people will still be blasting "Take Care" in their car. From what I've watched, he gives the people their moneys worth and leaves them waiting to see Drakes next move or when he's dropping his next album. He's just an all around great artist and performer, strongly recommend seeing him.

I have never been a huge fan of Drake, but after becoming hooked on the 2013 song ‘Hold on we’re going home’, I decided to check out his back catalogue of work, and was really surprised with what I found, and immediately regretted discounting him previously.

The combination of chilled out tracks in contrast with his rapping and songs like ‘Headlines’ provides such great listening variation, covering a variety of musical genres. Drake’s recent performance at this years Grammys was simply breath-taking, drawing in the audience to the narrative of ‘Hold on we’re going home’ without being showy or over the top, yet managing to merge smoothly into the track ‘Started from the Bottom’, providing the audience with a more upbeat track.

Drake’s interaction with his audience, especially on this occasion is something which he deserves credit for, maintaining his vocal performance whilst attempting to greet as many fans as possible. For me, this injection of his personality really provides the fans with a motivation to watch him live, as the dedication to both performance and fans is something that he appears to have mastered.

He really is one of those artists that you have to see live to experience the full potential of his music.

I bought my tickets to Lil Wayne VS. Drake about 4 months ago and finally got to attend the show on Saturday. Wow. My mind was blown. First of all G-Easy Opened for them and really got the crowd warmed up for the headliners. The whole show was like a video game with Drake and Lil Wayne going back and forth with old and new hits which I was so impressed with how they really mixed it up. Drake flew above the crowd suspended holding on to a stripper pole looking stand which Lil Wayne later dogged on him for. They battled back and forth about being the most featured artist and at the end I had chills because they were both saying how grateful they were for keeping each other's music alive. It was inspiring and poetic. I was impressed it was definitely the best show I have been to this year!

Drake puts on a great show, honestly a great performer who is very talented.

However, if you’re really going to tour with migos, and they don’t show up to do their opening set, there really should be some kind of refund. I came to the show expecting to see migos and then drake and then when migos didn’t show up I went into Drakes set disappointed about missing migos. Sure two of them came out and did 2 songs but really not enough. Instead of touring with these unreliable guys, tour by yourself, I would have no problem paying exactly what I paid for just Drake.

My son is Drake biggest fan and I would love to buy him tickets to Drake concert! I would love to see him shake Drake hand. He watch all of Drake documentary, interviews and reads all of his commentaries. This playlist is all Drake and the artist he signed. He even make me sit down and watch Drake life stories. He has all of his family, friends and girlfriend listening to Drake! He ware Drake clothing line “OVO” and has his family and friends wearing OVO too! Drake to your biggest fan ever Keldrick Mumphrey he a great young man and a wonderful son! Love mom

Tickets were very expensive. This was one of the most I have ever paid for a concert ticket, need to make it affordable for his fans. His stage presence was brilliant and loved how much he relates himself to the UK and a personal bond with Birmingham. He did lots of his lesser successful songs which was disappointing, songs like crew love which lots of his fans LOVE came on for 10 seconds then he switched into another one. Just felt it lacked real good performances of his better known and his best songs.

I really liked the show! Drake was an amazing entertainer and made me feel seen and made the show worthwhile. He really suprised me in a positive way:) I loved the sequals were he talked between the songs and the drirecting of scenery was incredible. Some of the most impressive stuff I have ever seen on a stage. He was a good singer, and I liked his tribute to Rihanna. Thanks Drake, for an awesome experience. You are way coolet than I thought

One of the best concerts I've been to in a while... Then opening act: party next door wasn't very well known But when the main acts got on stage the party was really bumpin. Great set list. I can say that I was standing and dancing the whole night and rapping along. They had an interactive portion to help decide who won the rap battle between Drake and Lil Wayne through a downloaded app on your phone. Overall awesome experience!

Amazing preformance! He's very enganging and interactive with the crowed, not to mention insanely talented! There was a really cool moving light show (globes of lights that were lowered and raised to create patterns above the audiance as well as change colors). Would have loved to hear more from some of his first albums but all in all a fantastic show. Definatly was worth spending the extra money for floor seats :)

Taylor808’s profile image

The Drake vs Lil wayne show was definantly a must see! The whole competitive feel of them trying to one up eachother really drove the energy up! Drake is amazing live but honestly Lil Wayne stole the show for me. Also the production value is through the roof! It's less of a concert and more of an experience! They played all of their hits as well as their old stuff! Definantly get a seat to this one!

When do tickets go on sale for Drake's UK & Europe tour? Here's everything we know.

Listen to this article

In late 2023, Drake spilled the beans that he will be visiting the UK & Europe to tour his new albums ' For All The Dogs ' and 2022's ' Her Loss '.

The last time Drake was in the UK & Europe was in 2019 , where he turned London's O2 into the O3 for a whopping seven nights.

Talk has turned to when and how fans can get tickets to his rumoured upcoming shows, and here is everything we know so far about getting Drake tour tickets.

Drake hasn't toured since 2018.

When do Drake tour tickets for UK & Europe 2024 go on sale?

The rapper has taken his 'It's All A Blur' tour across the US in 2023, and has confirmed he will be doing a further 22 shows with the support of J. Cole, starting in Denver, Colorado and ending in Birmingham, Alabama.

Drake confirmed that he will be doing shows across the pond in a December 2023 livestream.

Drake In Concert in Atlanta, GA

Drizzy said his new year's resolution is to "travel more" without it being work related, and when asked if he would come to Europe, he replied: "I think I'm going to go on tour in Europe."

The rapper then said: "Oh, that's maybe an exclusive, I'm definitely going on a Europe tour next year."

What are Drake's UK & Europe tour dates?

Considering Drake is touring the US from January to April 2024, it is likely that this tour will start later on in the year.

Fellow rappers Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj are also coming to the UK this year in big comeback tours, so it is likely that Drake may wait till the latter half of the year.

As soon as Drake updates his fans on tour updates, this page will be updated.

Drake's eighth project should be coming soon!

How much are Drake tickets?

According to Live Nation, the average price for Drake tickets is around $300 for the American tour.

Some tickets can be bought for as low as $180, with some VIP and premium tickets nearing the thousands of dollars.

Because no Drake UK tour has been confirmed, we can only speculate that the ticket prices will be around the same.

Representatives for Drake have denied a false rumour that the artist was arrested in Sweden .

“Free Drake” began trending on social media late on Thursday (14 July), as fans shared the unsubstantiated claim that he had been arrested at a nightclub on cannabis-related charges.

Drake’s representatives have now confirmed to multiple outlets that the rumour is false.

Huffington Post journalist Philip Lewis quoted Drake’s team as saying: “Drake is at his hotel and has not been arrested.”

Last month, the rapper dropped a surprise new album, titled Honestly, Nevermind .

The Canadian star released the album at midnight on Friday 17 June, having only announced it a few hours before .

Fans, however, were shocked by the change in musical direction on the album .

Unlike the rest of Drake’s music, Honestly, Nevermind has been described as fitting into the house music or electronic genre – making it a radical departure from the likes of 2018’s Scorpion or last year’s Certified Lover Boy .

Drake was also recently seen joining the Backstreet Boys on stage in Toronto for a live rendition of the 1999 hit “I Want It That Way”.

The rapper, who was born and raised in Toronto, shared his own memory of “I Want It That Way”, telling audiences that was “the first time I ever felt like I had a shot at being cool”.

Honestly, Nevermind is available to stream now.

Here's The Truth About Rumors Drake Was Arrested in Sweden

Drake's rep addressed rumors that the rapper was arrested in sweden. find out the truth about where he really was on july 14..

God's plan doesn't include getting arrested in Sweden.

Following rumors that Drake  was arrested in the Scandinavian country, his rep is setting the record straight.

"Drake is currently at his hotel," his rep told E! News on July 14, "and hasn't been arrested or charged with anything."

The Swedish culture site DOPEST  previously reported that the rapper was taken into custody by police in Stockholm, which resulted in "Free Drake" trending on Twitter on Thursday evening in the U.S.

Instead, it seems Drake was having some down time. He took to his Instagram Stories earlier in the day with a shot of what appears to be his hotel room, including a bottle of a sparkling beverage on ice.

Earlier this week, Drake revealed his plans for an October World Weekend concert series in Toronto, leading up to his Ovo Fest Tour. He'll perform with a group of "All Canadian North Stars" on July 28, with  Chris Brown  and Lil Baby  swooping in on July 29. Wayne and Nicki Minaj both perform at Budweiser Stage on Aug. 1, with tickets on sale July 15.

"I am currently working on bringing OVO FEST around the world in 2023 for the 10th Anniversary," Drake shared on Instagram, "but of course we wanted to turn the city up for the summer!!! More event announcements to come."

It's not the only trick he's had up his sleeve. In June, the Degrassi alum surprised fans and dropped his album  Honestly, Nevermind   one day after announcing it.

Tucked in a series of Instagram photos from his trip to Europe, Drake seemed to confirm on Sunday (July 17) that he was detained by Swedish police.

On the third slide of his vacation photo dump, a one-page handout that reads “Information for Those Suspected of a Crime and Subsequently Detained” at the top — listing the detainee’s rights — issued by the Public Prosecutor’s Office for Sweden’s National Police Board. The notice also lists detainees’ rights, and notes an “interrogation will be held” with detainees “as soon as possible.”

Drake's Team Denies Rapper Was Arrested in Sweden

See latest videos, charts and news

The photo of the document comes just days after the Canadian rapper’s team denied rumors that he was arrested to The Hollywood Reporter , dispelling speculation that hit social media on Thursday night (July 14). Within 24 hours of the rapper’s baby blue “Air Drake” private jet landing in Stockholm, rumors spread about his arrest, and the hashtag #FreeDrake started trending on Twitter.

Internet speculation also suggested Drake had been arrested by local police at a Stockholm nightclub. His team told THR  that the Grammy winner was in his hotel in the Swedish capital and had not been arrested.

As documented on Instagram, Drake landed at Sweden’s Arlanda airport on Wednesday (July 13), and local media reports said the rapper visited the Östermalm district of Stockholm and went to Ciccio’s restaurant.

The OVO boss also announced Wednesday that October World Weekend will take over his hometown of Toronto from July 28 to Aug. 1 with a lineup featuring a Young Money reunion featuring Lil Wayne  and  Nicki Minaj , as well as appearances from  Lil Baby  and  Chris Brown .

Tickets for October World Weekend are on sale here . Brown and Baby are slated to play the Budweiser Stage on July 29, with the Young Money reunion closing things out on Aug. 1 on the Budweiser Stage.

Drake Comes Out as Surprise Guest at Nicki Minaj's Toronto Tour Stop, Gives Her Kiss on the Cheek

Nicki Minaj didn't hesitate to bring out her longtime Young Money partner and frequent collaborator, Drake , during a Toronto stop of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour.

Drizzy was a special guest at the Scotiabank Arena on Tuesday night (April 30), just hours after getting a fiery six-minute response from Kendrick Lamar on diss track "Euphoria."

But while the 6 God didn't speak on Lamar, he got major props from Minaj, who called him an "icon" and "legend" after performing their latest collaboration, "Needle." After giving Minaj a kiss on the cheek before she retreated backstage for a costume change, the venue went up when Drake performed "Rich Baby Daddy" off his eighth studio album, For All the Dogs .

Later, Drake teased a potential follow-up to his Lamar-aimed tracks "Push Ups" and "Taylor Made (Freestyle)," saying, "You know what time it is, you know what I gotta do," before exiting the stage.

Earlier in the day, Drake sent subliminal shots to Lamar on Instagram via liked posts before comparing "Euphoria" to a poetry scene from the 1999 romantic comedy 10 Things I Hate About You .

But last night wouldn't be the first time that Drake came through for Minaj on her recent tour. During some trouble at the Canadian border last month, causing her Montreal show to be delayed, the "Evil Ways" rapper "made a couple calls" for Minaj, which allowed her to perform three hours after her scheduled concert time.

Local tee sheet: Who are the professional golfers residing on the First Coast, Golden Isles?

Nearly six dozen touring professionals have established the two areas as their base of operations.

drake tour sweden

They’re some of the best golfers in the world and they call the First Coast and Georgia’s Golden Isles home.

Nearly six dozen, some natives of both areas, some transplants from other states as far away as California, Washington and New England and others from other nations such as Australia, Sweden, Fiji, Belgium, Colombia, Mexico, Scotland and China.

But they’ve made the same decision — either move to the First Coast of the Golden Isles to take advantage of the world-class golf courses, practice facilities such as the PGA Tour Academy and the Sea Island Resort Performance Center — or stay exactly where they were brought up.

Here’s the comprehensive list, based on the biographical information they have released to their respective tours. We've also included area natives who have moved elsewhere and are still active players.

And if you bump into them at a convenience store or in the grocery aisle, say hi.

Tyson Alexander, Jacksonville Beach: The former Gator All-American battled until he was 34 years old to get to the PGA Tour and made it in 2022, then retained his card last season by finishing 102nd on the FedEx Cup points list.

Jonas Blixt, Jacksonville Beach: A native of Sweden and a former Florida State player, Blixt has won three times on the PGA Tour, including the Zurich Classic in 2017 when he played with 2022 Players champion Cameron Smith.

Jonathan Byrd, St. Simons Island, Ga.: He was the first four-time All-ACC player at Clemson and has won five times on the PGA Tour, plus the 2017 Korn Ferry Tour Championship at the Atlantic Beach Country Club. Byrd is noted for winning the 2010 Shriners Hospital for Children in Las Vegas with a walkoff hole-in-one in a playoff.

Bud Cauley, Jacksonville native: Now living in the Palm Beach area, Cauley was one of the top junior golfers in First Coast history and got his PGA Tour card in one summer of sponsor invitations, which he turned into top 10 finishes, which led to his card. Had to recover from a serious car accident in Columbus, Ohio, in 2018 in which he was the passenger and is playing on a medical exemption.

Adrien Dumont de Chassart, Ponte Vedra Beach: The native of Belgium played at Illinois, then won his professional debut in 2023 at the Korn Ferry Tour BMW Charity Pro-Am. He added another victory later in the year to ensure his PGA Tour card for 2024.

Nico Echavarria, Ponte Vedra Beach: The younger of the two Echavarria brothers from Colombia reached the PGA Tour last year through the Korn Ferry Tour, then won the Puerto Rico Open to earn a two-year exemption.

Harris English, St. Simons Island, Ga.: The University of Georgia graduate won the Korn Ferry Tour's event at the UGA golf course as an amateur in 2011, added two more Korn Ferry titles, and then four PGA Tour victories. He's finished among the top 10 in three of the last four U.S. Opens and in March tied for 19th at The Players.

Matt Every, Jacksonville Beach: A Daytona Beach native and four-time All-American at the University of Florida, Every won the Arnold Palmer Invitational in back-to-back years in 2014-15 before losing his fully exempt Tour status.

Brian Harman, St. Simons Island, Ga.: Another in a long line of University of Georgia players, the Savannah native has won three PGA Tour titles, capped by last year's Open Championship, through sheer work and determination.

Billy Horschel, Ponte Vedra Beach: After a successful college career at Florida, Horschel has carved out a respectable record on the PGA Tour that has been highlighted so far by his FedEx Cup championship in 2014. He won his eighth PGA Tour title on April 21 in the Dominican Republic.

Will Gordon, St. Simons Island, Ga.: The Vanderbilt graduate is struggling this season after finishing 98th in 2022-23 on the FedEx Cup.

Ben Griffin, St. Simons Island, Ga.: A former University of North Carolina star who has a fallback position should he leave pro golf — he has an economics degree and has worked as a loan officer with a mortgage company.

Lanto Griffin, Ponte Vedra Beach: Griffin won the 2020 Houston Open but has struggled since then, finishing 201st on the FedEx Cup last season and is outside the top 125 so far this season.

Zach Johnson, St. Simons Island, Ga.: The pride of Drake University has done more through hard work and doggedness than almost any modern player. Johnson's 2007 Masters title and 2015 Open Championship highlight a career in which he's won 12 PGA Tour titles. He was the Korn Ferry Tour player of the year in 2004.

Patton Kizzire, St. Simons Island, Ga.: The Auburn graduate is a past Korn Ferry Tour player of the year and has won twice on the PGA Tour, both times in 2018 at the Sony Open and Mayakoba, Mexico.

Ben Kohles, Ponte Vedra Beach: He's had two two-victory seasons on the Korn Ferry Tour 11 years apart, in 2012 and 2023 and posted his best PGA Tour finish with a solo fifth last fall at the RSM Classic.

David Lingmerth, Ponte Vedra Beach: The native of Sweden and former Arkansas player had a career resurgence last season by posting a finish of 80th on the FedEx Cup, his best since 2016. His season was highlighted by a tie for sixth at The Players, his second top 10 in the tournament. His only PGA Tour title was a big one: the 2015 Memorial.

Ryan McCormick, Jacksonville: He earned Tour status by finishing 27th on the Korn Ferry Tour points list last season. McCormick played college golf at St. Johns.

Tyler McCumber, Jacksonville Beach: A graduate of Nease and Florida, the son of 1988 Players champion Mark McCumber is battling a shoulder injury. With the merging of the PGA Tour's development circuits in Canada and Latin America, McCumber will be the only player in history to earn Korn Ferry Tour status by winning the money titles on each of those tours and a total of six titles.

Keith Mitchell, St. Simons Island, Ga.: The 2019 winner of the Cognizant Classic has been a steady performer, on his way to a seventh season of making the FedEx Cup playoffs. Need to find a good restaurant at a PGA Tour stop? Players know to hit up Mitchell, who prides himself on knowing the best places.

Philip Knowles, Jacksonville: Knowles is the first UNF player to earn his PGA Tour card, off the 2022 Korn Ferry Tour. He's playing on a medical exemption after a freak accident last year in which he cut his hand severely on a can lid. He was tied for the lead through 54 holes at the Korn Ferry Tour's Savannah event and finished in a tie for fourth.

Russell Knox, Ponte Vedra Beach: The former JU star has been a winner at every level — college, the Hooters Tour, the Korn Ferry Tour and twice on the PGA Tour. He has a 59 on the Korn Ferry Tour and is battling his way back through that circuit.

Andrew Novak, St. Simons Island, Ga.: One of the best players to come out of the Southern Conference, he was won four times at Wofford and was the SoCon player of the year in 2017. Finished 68th on the FedEx Cup points list last season.

Raul Pereda, Jacksonville: The JU graduate finally reaped the fruits of years on international tours when he earned his card at PGA Tour Q School last December at the TPC Sawgrass Dye's Valley Course and the Sawgrass Country Club. He carries two ball markers: one for short putts and one for long putts.

J.T. Poston, St. Simons Island, Ga.: The best PGA Tour player to ever come out of Western Carolina University. He won the 2019 Wyndham Championship and the 2022 John Deere Classic.

Sam Ryder, Atlantic Beach: He's no relation to Samuel Ryder, the English businessman who donated the trophy for the competition that became the Ryder Cup. Ryder is from Winter Park, played at Stetson and didn't enter a junior tournament until he was 16 years old. In March he broke the record for the most birdies in one Players Championship with 27 on his way to a tie for 16th.

Greyson Sigg, St. Simons Island, Ga.: Another former University of Georgia Bulldog who married coach Chris Haack's daughter Katie. Sigg won twice on the 2020 Korn Ferry Tour and has kept his PGA Tour card since.

Jimmy Stanger, Ponte Vedra Beach: A former University of Virginia player who knows how to manage his money -- he interned at the Federal Reserve and Raymond James Financial.

Davis Thompson, St. Simons Island, Ga.: He followed in his father's footsteps in playing for the Georgia Bulldogs and took Jon Rahm to the final few holes before losing the 2023 American Express.

Michael Thompson, St. Simons Island, Ga.: A two-time PGA Tour winner, his nickname at Alabama was "Slick" for his ability to get up and down from almost anywhere.

Carl Yuan, Jacksonville: The former University of Washington player is a native of China and a past Korn Ferry Tour winner. He's flashed as times such as a closing 63 this year at the Sony Open to secure a tie for fourth.

LIV Golf League

Cameron Smith, Ponte Vedra Beach: The native of Australia remains the First Coast's only PGA Tour player to jump to LIV Golf and has won three times, to go with his six PGA Tour titles and three DP World victories. Smith's 2022 season will be hard to beat — he won the Players Championship and the Open Championship, before moving on to LIV Golf.

Korn Ferry Tour

Dawson Armstrong, Jacksonville: The Lipscomb graduate earned conditional Korn Ferry status at the PGA Tour Q School in Ponte Vedra Beach last December and has made only two of six cuts this season.

Chris Baker, Jacksonville: Baker played college golf at Iowa State and has 17 career top-10 Korn Ferry finishes.

Blayne Barber, Lake City native: Now living in Auburn, Ala. (where he played college golf), Barber has 105 PGA Tour starts and 115 Korn Ferry starts. His closest call to winning on the PGA Tour was a tie for second at the 2016 RSM Classic.

Fred Biondi, Jacksonville: The individual NCAA champion for the Florida Gators last season, the native of Brazil earned his Korn Ferry Tour card through the PGA Tour University rankings. He tied for 23rd at the RSM Classic last season and tied for 10th at the PGA Tour Q School.

Chandler Blanchet, Atlantic Beach: He led the 2023 PGA Tour Latinoamerica points list to earn his Korn Ferry Tour card and has two top-10 finishes in 57 starts.

Cody Blick, Jacksonville: A native of San Jose, Calif., Blick shot a final-round 63 and tied for 25th in the 2018 Korn Ferry Tour national qualifier after his clubs were stolen before the final round and he had a makeshift set courtesy of Titleist reps and the club's head pro and superintendent.

Dillon Board, Baldwin: The only native of the small Western Duval town to reach the Korn Ferry Tour (from his finish at the 2023 Q School), Board tied for 20th at the Korn Ferry's Colombia event this season.

Ricky Castillo, Jacksonville: After helping the Florida Gators win the 2023 national championship, Castillo made a big splash by winning the Korn Ferry Tour event in Wichita. He made his first six cuts of the 2024 season, all among the top 20, with two top 10 finishes.

Vince Covello, Atlantic Beach: A Cinderella story if there ever was one. After playing on seven mini-tours, the former Nease and UNF player got his PGA Tour card in 2019 thanks to winning on the Korn Ferry Tour. He lost his Tour card after that but he'll always have the moment. Covello currently is on a Korn Ferry Tour medical extension.

Reid Davenport, St. Simons Island, Ga.: A Vanderbilt graduate from Houston, Davenport earned his status at the 2023 PGA Tour Q School.

Taylor Dickson, Jacksonville: He won in Chile earlier this year in his 81st career Korn Ferry Tour start. Dickson is from Gastonia, N.C., and played college golf at Winthrop.

Brett Drewitt, Ponte Vedra Beach: The Australia native has 182 career Korn Ferry Tour starts, with one victory in 2020. He said if he wasn't a golfer he'd be playing cricket.

Taylor Funk, Ponte Vedra Beach: The son of 2005 Players champion Fred Funk and a high school state champion with Ponte Vedra, Funk shot a 60 in a PGA Tour Canada event last year and earned status from the PGA Tour Q School. Funk played on the University of Texas golf team in 2016 with Scottie Scheffler, Beau Hossler and Doug Ghim.

Joey Garber, St. Simons Island, Ga.: Found his way from Petosky, Mich., to the University of Georgia and has 131 career Korn Ferry Tour starts, with a victory in 2018 in Raleigh.

Emilio Gonzalez, St. Simons Island, Ga.: The Mexico native ran off three top-20 finishes in a row earlier this season, with a tie for eighth in Colombia.

Tano Goya, Ponte Vedra Beach: He's a seasoned winner, with seven titles, coming from far-flung places such as his native Argentina, Portugal and Sweden.

Evan Harmeling, Atlantic Beach: The Princeton graduate and native of Boston won the 2013 Massachusetts Open and donated his entire first-place check of $15,000 to a charity that assists victims of the Boston Marathon bombing.

Rick Lamb, St. Simons Island, Ga.: He won the 2016 LECOM Open in Lakewood Ranch and has made 109 Korn Ferry Tour starts. Lamb is a native of South Bend, Ind., who played golf at Tennessee.

Peter Knade, St. Simons Island, Ga.: Knade was a standard bearer for Rory McIlroy's group during the final round of the 2012 Cognizant Classic when McIlroy won to ascend to No. 1 in the world. Knade went on to play golf at the University of Maryland.

Patrick Newcomb, Jacksonville Beach: He and his brother Nick are both in the Murray State Athletics Hall of Fame for their college golf careers.

Paul Peterson, St. Simons Island, Ga.: The Oregon State graduate is comfortable outside the U.S. His three career Korn Ferry Tour top-10s have come in the Bahamas, Panama and Chile.

Spencer Ralston, St. Simons Island, Ga.: Played with Davis Thompson at Georgia for four years. His father, Mitch, played golf at Clemson.

Doc Redman, Jacksonville Beach: Lost his PGA Tour card after the 2022-23 season but tied for seventh at PGA Tour Q-School and posted a tie for sixth in Savannah last month. He beat Doug Ghim to win the 2017 U.S. Amateur.

Julian Suri, Ponte Vedra Beach: A two-time Florida State champion at Bartram Trail High School, he rose as high as No. 62 in the world after winning on the DP World Tour, posting a tie for 19th in the 2018 PGA Championship and tying for eighth at the Houston Open. He's been battling injuries since he played at Duke.

Danny Walker, Jacksonville: A University of Virginia graduate, he considered a career in astrophysics instead of golf. He also worked at a Bahama Breeze in 2021 — a restaurant career that lasted two weeks.

Thomas Walsh, Jacksonville: Another in a steady of stream of former University of Virginia players who are making noise, he's off to a solid start and was 20th on the Korn Ferry points list in mid-April.

Jared Wolfe, Nocatee: He won twice in the 2020 Korn Ferry Tour season and is still slugging it out at the age of 36 after 14 professional seasons. One aspiration is to appear on the Food Network.

PGA Tour Champions

David Duval, Jacksonville native: Now living near Denver, Duval still holds the distinction of having won the most PGA Tour titles (13) of any Florida native. He was the No. 1 player in the world during a stretch in 1999 when he won The Players Championship, two months after becoming the first player to shoot 59 in the final round to win a PGA Tour title at the Bob Hope Classic. Duval won the 2001 Open Championship and had several near-misses in other majors, notably in the 1998 and 2001 Masters.

Fred Funk, Jacksonville: The short-hitting but accurate Maryland native won eight PGA Tour titles, highlighted by the 2005 Players Championship, and nine PGA Tour Champions crowns, including three senior majors.

Jim Furyk, Jacksonville: Furyk has been among the most productive PGA Tour players of his era, winning 17 times. He won the 2003 U.S. Open at Olympia Fields and the 2010 FedEx Cup and is the only player to ever break 60 twice in Tour events. He holds the record for the lowest 18-hole score with a 58 at the 2016 Travelers. He will be the U.S. Presidents Cup captain at Royal Montreal in September and hosts the Constellation Furyk & Friends at the Timuquana Country Club.

Frank Lickliter II, Ponte Vedra Beach: He won twice on the PGA Tour and posted two top 10 finishes in The Players in 2001 and 2004.

Davis Love III, St. Simons Island, Ga.: Love's 20 PGA Tour victories, two Players Championships and the 1997 PGA title landed him in the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2017. He has hosted the Tour's RSM Classic at the Sea Island Resort since 2010.

Len Mattiace, Jacksonville: Mattiace won the Florida state high school title in 1984 at Nease and played at Wake Forest when he helped the Deacons win the 1986 national championship. He won PGA Tour titles at the Genesis Invitational and St. Jude Classic and lost the 2003 Masters in a playoff to Mike Weir.

Blaine McCallister, Jacksonville: A native of Texas and one of the first PGA Tour players to move to the First Coast, McCallister won five times on the Tour from 1988-1993, led by the 1989 Cognizant Classic when he beat Payne Stewart by four shots. He played at the University of Houston with Fred Couples and Jim Nantz.

Vijay Singh , Ponte Vedra Beach: One of the best rags-to-riches stories in golf history. The native of Fiji was a club professional in Borneo, qualified for the European PGA Tour, then caught fire in America and went on to win 34 PGA Tour titles, three majors (1998 and 2004 PGA, 2000 Masters) and has added five Champions Tour titles. He's still got some gas in tank, making the cut at the Masters last month at the age of 61.

Auston Kim, St. Augustine: The Nease graduate and past Times-Union high school player of the year earned her LPGA Tour card off last year's Epson Tour.

Amelia Lewis, Jacksonville: Lewis graduated from Bolles and turned professional in 2010 after a half-season at Florida. She's held dual status on the LPGA and Ladies European Tour and is attempting a comeback on the Epson Tour, where she posted three top-25 finishes in her first three 2024 starts.

Jessica Porvasnik, Jacksonville: An Ohio State graduate, Porvasnik won the PXG Women's Match Play at the Slammer & Squire in 2021 and is now playing on the Epson Tour.

Mel Reid, Atlantic Beach: Reid is a native of England and a veteran of the LET, where he has won six times. She captured her first LPGA Tour title in 2020 at the ShopRite Classic.
