Ratings and reviews

Location and contact.

The restaurant is in a strip mall with plenty of parking. The special this Tuesday evening was a choice of four burgers with a glass of wine--all for $10. A great deal and all of us enjoyed our burgers and were shocked by the special...burger... and wine for $10! More

We have been here at least 6 times for lunch. Each time it is very fresh and the outside seating remains nice. Their hummus is excellent and we always get their lunch special (salad, lentil soup, pita & hummus). Usually, service is excellent - today... it was a little lacking, so the owner offered us a dessert on the house. Some sort of delicious homemade ice cream with pistachio-something. I don't eat dairy, so I didn't try it, but everyone at the table raved about it. Of course we will be back. More

We came for lunch and were seated right away. Not busy yet. My wife got the grilled chicken breast entrée and I ordered the lamb kebobs. Both were prudent choices. Very tasty. Friendly service. Pleasant atmosphere.

Was there years ago, visited again based on past experience & hopeful for a good meal. The restaurant wasn't as nicely appointed as it was back when I visited. Despite being very slow, the service albeit nice and friendly, was super slow. The food was... served in tiny little dishes which seemed very fast foodish. One salad, one main and 2 glasses of wine served in TINY dishes that were not even suited to cut food, the dishes were so tiny, $60. The food very average, not awful, but for the price and portion size, won't return. It's exasperating that the place rates so high for really on the lower end of mediocre. A fail More

Thank you for Taking time to write a review. During the last few months/Covid we have found it very difficult to purchase certain items. This includes food, ingredients, tableware just to name a few.. In the last week we were once again able to order... More

Eating at the Falafel Bistro was a treat for us as we haven't encountered many Middle Eastern restaurants in Palm Beach County, and probably wouldn't have gone here if our friends hadn't taken us. There were a couple of "glitches" during our meal (entrees were... served too quickly--we were still eating our apps; I think my Pecan Date Chicken special was reheated to be served when we were ready and had to be sent back, so a new order was made). The first one was very tasty with plenty of sauce, but the reorder was not as tasty and had less sauce. Michelle (manager?) and Brenna, our server were extremely accommodating to rectify any glitches. Our friends loved the Jerusalem chicken dish, my wife liked it. My special was good, but not as much as I would have liked. OUTSTANDING items were the hummus, the hot quinoa, the pita and ciabatta breads, and the knaffe dessert (which we split four ways). In spite of the "glitches," overall we enjoyed the bistro located in a mall with plenty of parking. Wheelchair accessible; major credit cards accepted; beer and wine. A second venue, DVASH, is soon to be opened in Boca near the turnpike and Glades Road. More

The answer: spending a lot and getting food that taste lousy. Dvash and those behind it are pretentious without any basis for being so. The decor is very nice as is the menu (from all appearances.). But that's where it ends. The flavors have no... relationship with the Israeli/Mediterranean theme of the restaurant. The best example: the salad. Israeli salad is a gentle blend of fresh tomato, cucumber, and possible other vegetables, spiced gently with mint, parsley and lemon. All you taste here is red onion. It is clear that no one involved in the operation of the restaurant cares about flavors and taste and, instead, only making money. That recipe is bound for disaster. More

After hearing and reading good reviews on this Restaurant, we were very excited to try it out whilst on holiday in Boca Raton. We were in a party of seven and went for dinner arriving at 7:30 pm. Decor is very basic and no atmosphere... whatsoever in the restaurant. We very much, hoped that the food would make up for this. Unfortunately Not! Four of our party, ordered the schnitzel chicken special. This was accompanied with couscous and salad. The portion sizes were extremely large, however, all four who ordered found it impossible to cut through the Schnitzel, as it was so hard and dry. and the couscous and salad did not taste fresh. When our waiter came over to ask if everything was okay, we advised that we we were not happy with the four meals and his only response ( with a smile)was that he could offer us sharper knives! This was clearly not an acceptable response And left us dumbfounded. At no point afterwards, did anybody come across over to apologise and on top this off when the bill came it included a 20% tip, proving their total lack of care and understanding We will not be returning. More

Our friends like this place and invited us. I had high hopes but was disappointed. The service was poor- didn’t bring my husband’s drink, didn’t advise me that my felafel did not include tahini sauce and he didn’t check up on our meals. I had... to go and find someone to correct the situation. My felafel was a sad sack of mediocre pita in a paper envelope with chopped tasteless vegetables. The plate was bare without a cup of tahini, and looked like a fast food quick bite. When I asked for the tahini, the young lady had an attitude and said they don’t serve the tahini unless you ask. Ugh!! Of the three entrees, our friends hamburger was the best item ordered. Everything else was just eh…average food for an above average price. I’ll stick with our favorite Greek place next time. More

When you are part Israeli you are super critical of so called Israeli food. Its usually some dry falafel or wet chopped salad that they call Israeli because it has tomato and cucumber in it. Dvash is quite the opposite. It's amazing Israeli with a... twist (ala Zahav). Now it isn't Zahav but the cauliflower dish could be in the Zahav menu for sure. Check it out!!! More

Just home from our first visit to D’vash. There are not enough superlatives to describe our dinner. We sampled many dishes and all were superb. The hummus was creamy and delicious. Shisito peppers were amazing. The Parisian crepe appetizer was one of the most delicious... dishes we have ever eaten. Amazing schnitzel!! The best part was the bread pudding dessert. They have a lovely outside area. Servers were friendly and so efficient. Can’t wait to return! It’s a must go! More

As this restaurant is in Lakeside Centre mall, parking isn't a problem. The interior looked upscale while the cost of the food was on the pricey side as well. Just FYI, the owners are Israeli but the food isn't kosher. DVASH means "honey" in Hebrew.... It was so crowded that, despite both indoor & outdoor seating, we ended up eating our dinners at the bar, something we rarely do. Their menu includes various Israeli options such as hummus, shakshuka, a couple shawarma options, & Israeli salad. We both thought our soups were excellent. My husband liked the falafel better than I did though. I actually thought it was too crispy! Although the falafel was listed as an appetizer & not an entree, it did come with a pita. In Israel, there would been some type of veggies available to add on top like tomatoes, Israeli salad, etc. More

Excellent food. Great service and portions are huge. The cauliflower appetizer is absolutely fabulous. The burgers are great and all the Mediterranean classics like falafel chumus and salads are in one word yummy.

DVASH is a fantastic restaurant that offers a wide range of delicious and authentic Mediterranean dishes. The flavors are bold and the portions are generous. The staff is friendly and attentive, making for a great dining experience. Overall, great food, great service, and a great... atmosphere. A must-visit for Mediterranean food lovers. More

went for lunch. I really leave the mediteranian food quality for my wife as she is from that area of the world and knows how that food should tast. However I do know good from bad so it is a good mix for us. Humas... was really good. The main courses were good but could use a little more spice but that can be adjusted if you tell them in advance since all meals are made to order. The service was really good and very polite. The intirer was very plain but it was also very clean which means a lot. All in all. A nice place for lunch with good food and great service. More

This is one of the most well run restaurants I have ever seen. The service is impeccable. This place is super busy either get there early or make reservations. The falafel and hummus were delicious. I had a signature burger and it was really good.... The portions here are pretty generous. Everyone around us was happy with their food. I saw the bartender give the ladies next to us a free refill on their wine and they were shocked lol Great place to grab some Mediterranean food. More

Getting To Know D'vash Organics

We sat down with the founders of D’vash Organics and got inside their “fruitful” world of startups and superfoods.

David Czinn and Brian Finkel are the Co-founders behind their 2nd successful superfood food company, which launched in 2017, called D’vash Organics. They have a unique story that brings together the love of food and culture with a bit of historical context.

dvash tours

Can you tell me how you two met and how you decided to start a business together?

Brian: “I grew up just outside of Chicago and upon finishing high school I decided to spend a gap year living in Jerusalem prior to starting college. It was during that year that I met David. We quickly became close friends and bonded over our mutual passion for Middle Eastern cuisine. After our gap year, I earned a degree in economics and finance at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania before moving to New York City to work in finance in consulting. After three years in NYC, I moved back to Jerusalem, where I discovered an entire country (and region) that was totally obsessed with date syrup, an ancient delicacy that dates back to Biblical times and a staple of the Middle Eastern diet for thousands of years. I called David, who by then had already established himself as a successful food mogul in the US, to pitch the idea of selling date syrup in America. He loved the idea and that's how D'vash was born. “

After starting your first company and seeing the do’s and don’t of a start-up, what are some of the struggles in the startup industry? Can you share any lessons for any aspiring business owners?

dvash tours

David: “ You have to embrace problem solving knowing that every day something will go wrong and that mistakes will happen in this industry. My great-grandfather was an entrepreneur and always said, "Never leave the table until both sides are happy." That's the philosophy I go into every negotiation/issue with, regardless if it's the largest retailer in the world or our cardboard supplier. It's helped us build strong, long-lasting relationships with everyone we work with. It demonstrates we're in it for the long-term and have their best interests in mind just as much as our own. When you're in a collaborative industry like food, that's essential to not only success, but survival.“

Brian: Even if you have an excellent idea that you execute perfectly, your business can be seriously challenged or even derailed by external factors that are largely beyond your immediate control. These can include suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, customers, investors, employees and more. No business operates in a vacuum, so building strong teams internally and developing solid relationships externally is crucial for success.”

Being the connoisseur of dates and nectars, we want to know more about how to use the D’vash products. Can you tell us some unconventional ways to use any of your nectars?

dvash tours

David: “ My favorite way to use D'vash is in my morning protein smoothie. Gotta keep the bones strong. Not only is it incredibly simple but it also tastes amazing! I take 2 bananas, 1 scoop of almond butter, 8 oz of vanilla almond milk, 1 scoop of vanilla pea protein and 2 teaspoons of D'vash. It’s the best breakfast ever in under 5 minutes! I also like to use D'vash on my Chicken. I created an incredible marinade. I use fresh orange juice, rosemary, thyme, ginger along with 3 tablespoons of the Dvash Cayenne Date Nectar and marinade the chicken for 12 hours, bake it at 350 degrees for 40 minutes and it tastes incredible. One day I plan on opening a restaurant with Dave's D'vash chicken being one of the signature dishes.”

Lastly, what are some fun facts about you both? Do you have any hobbies, fun facts, or places to travel to?

“I speak Hebrew and Mandarin Chinese. I used to sell beer and peanuts as a vendor in the seats at Wrigley Field. I recently lost 35 pounds by adding date syrup to my daily menu.”

David: “I was originally born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio (Go Browns!!!). I'm a twin that's oddly flexible and is capable of doing many more yoga poses than one would expect. I also love eggs and cheese but don't like quiche and have a knack for recognizing D list celebrities at the airport. “

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.

"This was a wonderful walking tour of the beautiful St Bonaventure Cemetery given by our guide Tim. He provided roundtrip transportation from our hotel, had bug spray and water on-hand too. He was very knowledgeable of the history, burial plots, and all the stone carvings and monuments."

"This was an excellent tour. Tim is incredibly knowledgeable about Savannah and the cemetery is very entertaining. He picks you up at your hotel, the van is comfortable and clean, and the tour feels very personal and not scripted like other tour companies. Highly recommend."

"From being picked up, to the water and bug spray he had on-hand, it was clear Tim really puts care into the tours. He was incredibly knowledgeable and it was nice having a small tour group. It was priceless having him rather than just trying to wander through Bonaventure on our own and reading Wikipedia articles."

"I took my daughter and 13-year-old granddaughter and we all loved it. It was very humid and a bit drizzly during the tour, but Tim was ready with an umbrella for everyone, bottled water, and bug spray. The pace was leisurely enough for me to keep up and fast enough that our teen didn't get bored."

Explore Russian Summer Life: Visit Russian Dacha!

People from Northern countries soak up every bit of pleasure out of summertime. Its days are numbered, and we do our best to store up the sunshine for the long, cold months that make up the rest of the year. Russians are among those who take full advantage of the brief, hot weather.

At summer’s peak, many Russians don’t venture far. The reason is dachas , our country houses. August brings the harvest for our small garden plots, but a dacha is much more than just an economic benefit: it embodies a culture dating back to Communist times.

Apple season, Traveler from Hong Kong

The dachas is a unique phenomenon in the life of anyone who lives in the boundless expanses of the Russian Federation. A small plot – just 0.15 acres – with a few currant bushes, apple trees and a vegetable patch, a little wooden house with no telephone or running water and a discreetly located outhouse. I’d love to how you mine.

How we’ll get there:

I believe that it’ll be fun to experience the Russian suburban train (electrichka), which is very popular in our country. Electrichka is inexpensive and it might even be faster than a car as it doesn’t depend on the traffic. Travelling by commuter train you’ll be able to see ordinary people and possibly talk with them. Sometimes trains offer you such “free entertainment” as listening to numerous vendors and musicians. But local trains might be crowded at certain times of the day so in some cases we’d recommend you to go with us by car.

What we’ll do:

We start the trip with the tour of Dmitrov , an ancient Russian town, founded in 1147 and called Moscow younger brother. It is located 1 hour drive out of Moscow.

Mushroom hunting

Learning how to prepare a Russianlunch:

Samovar for making tea

First you choose the right meat, then the right recipe for the marinade. The fire has to be started and allowed to burn down until it’s almost out, but still smouldering. If you catch it at that moment, then the meat will roast evenly and not burn.

Meanwhile, the fire keeps threatening to go out, compelling family and guests to furiously fan it with pieces of cardboard. We serve sashlik with baked potatoes, pickled vegetables and of course Russian vodka. Lunch is followed by traditional Russian tea drinking .

You’ll be so involved, you won’t even notice when it’s time to go back to the city.

The tour cost is 200 USD.

Tour price is for 2 people but I can accommodate up to 6 people in this tour, however the price will change.

More
