The serial killer next door with Emma Kenny
A very strange show for the Royal Theatre in Brighton The event was advertised as “one the UK most notable phycological therapist and crime commentator discusses on what creates a serial killer”/”what creates a serial killer or they simply born this way” But instead, the talk was only the descriptions of the crimes with all the details complementing horrifying photographs including tortured children. We sat for 45 minutes, waiting for some kind of turn in the monotonous gruesome narrative, but unfortunately this did not happen, and we left. I strongly do not recommend and really want my money back. That was the evening I just want to forget.
First half of the show, the sound on the act’s mic was clearly down, but this was rectified in the second half and boy did they make up for it. Great show! For some reason, none of the bars were open, but the app to get your drinks delivered to your seat was very handy! Perhaps a wider range of ales, beers and wine needed to make it suitable for all pallets. That’s said, always lovely coming to this venue in my hometown.
Lovely and historic venue which we always enjoy visiting. However it is in need of some Tender loving care and needs upgrading in a number of areas. Also I can never understand why they don't let people upstairs earlier as it causes so much congestion in the foyer area.
Excellent play, excellent seats. All staff friendly and despite card payments not working for a while when trying to get an interval ice cream, I got one in the end so it didn't matter. Except to the lady in front of me who was so disgusted at the WiFi being down. Honestly thought she was going to have a melt down, unlike the ice cream which was perfect temperature. Maybe one kiosk to use cash might be good.
One the positive side, a sensational show of the fisherman's friends and great young ticket staff. On the negative, very slow through the front door, a building restricted by its design, far top few women's cubicles resulting in long queues. Many seats very uncomfortable if you are over 4 foot eleven.
We came to this lovely theatre last night to watch the nutcracker ballet it was a fully enjoyable prefomance .How ever we was surprised there was no lefts .But this was quickly resolved by theatre staff due to us attending with a wheelchair. The young ladie on the stalls was quick at attending are needs and we like to thankyou again very much .Can’t wait to attend again to this theatre.

Emma Kenny is one of the UK’s most notable Psychological Therapists and Crime commentators. Whilst Emma specialises in victimology, she is mostly known in the media for presenting crime shows including Britain’s Darkest Taboos, Lady Killers, and The Killer in My Family. Emma has presented over 70 Crime shows analysing some of the most heinous crimes both here in the UK and the States, exploring what makes a killer, and why some people can be born into seemingly normal families, brought up without fear, or abuse, yet still choose a murderous path.
The Serial Killer Next Door… We all want to believe that we would know if we came into contact with a serial killer, that somehow our natural intuition would raise our physical hackles that would alert us to the very real threat around us. That myth, that we could somehow sniff out the angel of death is sadly why the term ‘serial killer’ was coined. Their body count is so high, because we all like to imagine that finding ourselves at the hands of a tortuous murderer simply wouldn’t happen to us. The truth is sadly that anyone can fall fowl of a serial killer, because humans like to trust, and serial killers use this knowledge as a weapon. Maybe you simply accept that lift home, or agree to have dinner with your internet hook up, or find yourself taking a shortcut with the clean cut, nice guy who started chatting to you whilst you strolled home? and then its game over, because rare though they may be, serial killers live amongst us, move between us, are even married to us, and only by studying their behaviour, can we adapt ours to give us a fighting chance of survival should they sliver into our lives.
Emma will take you on a journey looking at what ingredients of possibility lead to body counts by killers like Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, Jeffrey Dahmer, and John Paul Knowles. What creates a serial killer, and could anything have prevented their potential being activated, or were they simply born to kill?
How, and why do they select their victim, and is there anything anyone can do to protect themselves from such a sinister predator?

For live performances, the screen is positioned at the side of the stage.

Inside Jimmy Buffett’s Tribute Concert: McCartney, Margaritas, and One Hell of a Parrothead Party
By John Lonsdale
John Lonsdale
“Good evening, Hollywood-fucking-Bowl!” Paul McCartney exclaimed to the flock of Parrotheads gathered before him. A sold-out crowd had assembled in the famed Los Angeles venue on Thursday to celebrate the legacy of Jimmy Buffett at “Keep the Party Going,” a laid-back, one-night-only tribute show full of eclectic guests.
“I had the great pleasure of knowing Jimmy , and like everyone else on the bill tonight, I said, ‘This is one great man.’ He was generous. He was funny. He’d done just about everything in his life,” McCartney said, before launching into “Let It Be .” It was a song that McCartney said he’d played for Buffett at his home during the final week of his life. Buffett died in Sept. 1, 2023, at 76 after a battle with Merkel cell skin cancer.
Along with the stacked musical lineup, “Keep the Party Going: A Tribute to Jimmy Buffett” featured introductions — some via video, some in person — from Dolly Parton, James Taylor, Woody Harrelson, Pat Riley, and Dave Matthews. Harrison Ford was there in the flesh.
“There is no other way to say it: There will never be another like Jimmy,” Ford told the crowd, before introducing the Zac Brown Band as “one of Jimmy’s favorite and most-frequent collaborators.” The group jammed through the new track “Pirates & Parrots,” out April 19, and their collab with Buffett “Knee Deep,” with Brown literally taking off his pants to play the song in shorts and a tee backed by Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band.

The 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history, every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term.
“Jimmy enjoyed living life more than any person enjoyed living life,” the country star said. “I can remember we were hiking one day and we were heading up this vista and we started talking about music and songwriting and our careers and his life and my life, and death. And, ‘You know, Eric,’ [Jimmy] said, ‘Guys like us, we don’t really die.’ He said, ‘because the songs live forever.'”
“And this one will,” Church said, as the opening chords to “Son of a Son of a Sailor” rang out over the Bowl and an image of a sailboat drifting along the water was projected on a screen behind the musicians. Later, a projection of the Arc de Triopmhe appeared behind Jackson Browne as he sang his stirring rendition of “He Went to Paris,” one of Buffett’s greatest cuts from 1973’s A White Sport Coat and a Pink Crustacean .
In the latter half, the set list shifted to songs that Buffett wasn’t exactly known for: Snoop Dogg took the stage for a performance of “Gin and Juice,” alongside psychedelic visuals of Buffett in the 2019 Matthew McConaughey film The Beach Bum . And Pitbull appeared to perform his own “Don’t Stop the Party” before being joined by Jon Bon Jovi for “Thank God & Jimmy Buffett.”

Led by Don Henley and Joe Walsh, the California icons played their own miniature set featuring Henley’s “The Boys of Summer” and the band’s “Take It to the Limit” and “In the City.” The Eagles hung around to back up McCartney on the Beatles’ “Let It Be.”

The Serial Killer Next DoorEmma Kenny
About this show.
Emma Kenny is one of the UK’s most notable Psychological Therapists and Crime commentators. Whilst Emma specialises in victimology, she is mostly known in the media for presenting crime shows including Britain’s Darkest Taboos, Lady Killers, and The Killer in My Family. Emma has presented over 70 Crime shows analysing some of the most heinous crimes both here in the UK and the States, exploring what makes a killer, and why some people can be born into seemingly normal families, brought up without fear, or abuse, yet still choose a murderous path We all want to believe that we would know if we came into contact with a serial killer, that somehow our natural intuition would raise our physical hackles that would alert us to the very real threat around us. Maybe you simply accept that lift home, or agree to have dinner with your internet hook up, or find yourself taking a shortcut with the clean-cut, nice guy who started chatting to you whilst you strolled home? and then it’s game over, because rare though they may be, serial killers live amongst us, move between us, are even married to us, and only by studying their behaviour, can we adapt ours to give us a fighting chance of survival should they sliver into our lives.

'You have healed more than you'll ever know' This Morning's Emma Kenny becomes a mum again at 50
This Morning psychologist Emma Kenny has become a mum again at 50 after a secret pregnancy and a string of devastating miscarriages.
The TV doctor welcomed a daughter with her partner Pete and they have chosen a really unique name for their little girl, Etta -Blue.
Emma didn't reveal the meaning behind their name choice but she did open up about her heartbreaking ten year journey to finally be able to hold her little girl in her arms.
That included keeping the pregnancy under wraps and trying to convince herself to be happy with her lot in life as she battled through one setback after another.
'With every miscarriage I tried to learn to be grateful and accepting of what I had. I tried to dampen my desire to be a mother to another child, to find peace in my natural infertility and yet it felt so unnatural all in the same moment.
'I have spent the past nine months hiding my pregnancy, travelling the country with my theatre show, filming my YouTube crime content and working as many projects as possible in a bid to distract myself from the growing hope and possibility that this time, you may just become a reality, and that this time things will end in the sweetness of joy, instead of the agony of loss,' she wrote in tribute to her daughter.
Emma also shared a first look of Etta-Blue in a stream of heartwarming shots.
In one, the newborn is lying contentedly on her Emma's chest with Pete in the background and they could not look happier to welcome the latest addition to the family.
In another shot Pete is cradling Etta-Blue in his arms while in others she is dozing away blissfully unaware of the joy she has brought her parents.
While she is over the moon at becoming a mum again, Emma revealed that while her pregnancy was happily smooth sailing, her labour was anything but.
She admitted that it was the 'most dramatic' experience but she is 'giddy' that her little girl arrived safely.
'Your beauty is breathtaking, your company perfect, your presence utterly profound, and whilst I grieve the years we could have had together, I know that you are meant to be mine right now, and not a minute sooner.
'Etta-Blue, you have healed more than you'll ever know, and reminded me of the wonder of being, even in the face of loss and suffering. I can't wait to share your adventures,' she signed off her lovely tribute.
Emma is also mum to sons Tyde, 16 and Evan, 14.
