Good morning

Good evening

“Try to visit The Little Mermaid statue as early as possible to avoid crowds getting in your photo!”

Lasse, Travel Director

Take a walking tour of the iconic sights of Copenhagen

Walking through Copenhagen offers an intimate encounter with this boutique city. Wander the Langelinie promenade to see The Little Mermaid statue and stand in awe at the classical façade of Amalienborg—home of the Danish royal family. Our sightseeing tour in Copenhagen will show you the intricacies beyond the guidebook.

Cruise along the canals of Copenhagen

Nyhavn, the country’s most popular canal, showcases impressive 17th-century townhouses lining the waterfront. Feel the pulse of the harbor front as you cruise along the charming canal. Hear jazz spill out onto the water and watch the locals enjoy a summer drink at one of the many bars and restaurants.

Travel to Odense where Hans Christian Andersen was born

Popular for its rich history and culture—and because it was the birthplace of some of Denmark’s most popular artists—Odense sits high atop the list of things to do in Denmark. Visit the home-turned-museum of famous fairy-tale author, Hans Christian Andersen and wander the studio walls of Jens Galschiot, arguably Denmark’s most famous artist.

Pay tribute to the tragic Little Mermaid

Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy-tale about a mermaid who gives up her life to be with a handsome, land-residing prince, The Little Mermaid was gifted to Copenhagen in1913. Markyour Denmark trip with a visit to the bronze and granite sculpture that stands in its honor, perched on a rock overlooking the harbor.

Stroll through the medieval streets of Randers

Wander the quaint and unassuming streets of Randers and be transported back to its long history as a market town. Randers City is defined by its old-world charm of skewed, medieval buildings that line the shopping streets. Stroll along Houmeden, one of Denmark’s oldest pedestrian streets, for a glimpse of days gone by.

Our top 5 things to do in Denmark

A trip to Denmark with Trafalgar boasts a fusion of history and unique scenery. We'll guide you towards the best Denmark attractions and down charming streets you could stroll forever.

National Museum of Denmark

The country’s largest museum is an accolade to the Denmark of the past. Artefacts found at the National Museum of Denmark will take you on a journey as far back as 3,000 years. Feel the weight of history as you amble around exhibitions from the Stone Age, Viking times and beyond.

Moesgaard Museum

Experience the life of the dead at a museum solely dedicated to archaeology and ethnography. Exhibitions bring to fruition a past life that is contrasted by the modern Nordic design of the building it sits within. Admire angular lines and cement exterior combined with the grassy, pitch-like roof; a symbol of the contemporary architecture the country is so famous for.

Danish Museum of Art & Design

Perhaps the best showcase of Nordic design, the Danish Museum of Art & Design offers up works of some of the country’s most famous artists and designers. Attend a constant flow of fascinating exhibitions such as the Porcelain Study Collection, Danish Design Now and The 20th Century. Visit this institution, and you will find an artistic haven in Copenhagen’s historic center.

Best museums in Denmark

With a thriving art scene, some of the world’s most recognized designs and a history that is ingrained in culture, museums are an essential part of our trips to Denmark. Here are just a few we can’t wait to show you.

Literally meaning “butter and bread”, smørrebrød is a Danish take on an open-face sandwich. Expect a piece of dense rye bread topped with butter, cold cuts of meat or fish, cheese, spreads and garnishes like pickled herrings. Smørrebrød will quickly become your daily ritual.

Found in almost every deli and supermarket in Denmark is this boiled, bright red pork sausage. Considered one of Denmark’s national dishes, the rød pølse—which might simply be referred to as a hot dog—is not considered junk food and is deeply ingrained in the country’s gastronomy.

Frikadeller

Danish meatball recipes get passed down through generations like precious pearls of wisdom. This savory ball of ground pork, onions, nutmeg, garlic, a dash of milk and sage is usually served in a rich and creamy gravy. Pair it with potatoes, red cabbage or beets, and you will have yourself a deliciously Danish dish.

Best food in Denmark

Trafalgar takes you right into the heart of Denmark’s culinary culture. Be prepared to try some unusual takes on classic dishes - even the humble sandwich gets redefined by this Scandinavian country.

What to pack for Denmark

People packing for a tour

Though it can be warm in summer, Denmark tends to be cool for the majority of the year. Be prepared with a fleece jacket or warm coat, essential for sightseeing and strolling the windy streets or waterfront towns.

Waterproof shoes

Denmark’s climate can be unpredictable. Whether you’re traveling in winter, summer or anytime in between; periodic wind and rain makes a pair of waterproof shoes very handy.

Whether it is a sunny summer’s morning or a snowy afternoon in the dead of winter, eye protection is crucial when traveling. A trendy pair of sunglasses will have you feeling right at home in Denmark.

Pants or leggings

If you’re tapping into the local culture whilst in Denmark, you’ll more than likely find yourself on a bicycle. Pants or leggings will prove more comfortable and manageable than a long skirt or something short.

A small digital camera

Blend in with the stylish ways of the Danish locals by leaving your oversized DLSR camera at home. A more compact camera will also save space in your handbag, which you can fill with a few more souvenirs.

TAUCK VALUE INCLUDES

Guided visit to the Gol Stave Church

Exclusive early-entry private visit to Denmark's historic Frederiksborg Palace

Enjoy the natural beauty aboard a ferry cruise on the blue waters of Geirangerfjord

Take a "troll car" up to Briksdal Glacier for a trail walk to spectacular views of the glacier plunging to the valley below

SEE WHAT YOUR JOURNEY INCLUDES

Guests should be able to easily walk one to two miles, which may include climbing one or two flights of stairs and walking over uneven pavement, groomed hiking trails or cobblestones. Standing up to one hour or more may be required.

Often robust – may include long days, active sightseeing, early starts, evening activities, significant travel times.

Along Europe's Scenic "Yellow Roads"

Sweden offers a modern take on history, combining its medieval heritage and maritime treasures with an urban-cool ambiance and staggering scenic beauty. Denmark is a rainbow of islands, gardens, schooners and crowning gems where mermaids and storytellers inspire new stories. Fjords head up a parade of natural wonders in coastal Norway, ferrying you aboard boats, troll car and private coach to glaciers, waterfalls, farms, country hotels and homes of artists who find music for their soul here.

Grieg's troldhaugen in bergen, visit edvard grieg's home & museum at troldhaugen.

One of the leading pianists and composers of the Romantic era, Bergen's favorite son, Edvard Grieg, brought the musical traditions of his native Norway to international prominence through his work during the second half of the 19th century. Recognized as Norway's national composer, Grieg is a beloved and revered figure throughout his native country – and his home town of Bergen – to this day. You'll enjoy a guided visit to the Edvard Grieg Museum Troldhaugen, a complex in Bergen comprising Grieg's former villa (Troldhaugen), where he resided with his wife Nina from 1885 until his death in 1907; the couple's gravesite; the hut where Grieg composed his music; a museum dedicated to his life and work, completed in 1995; and the Troldsalen concert hall.

Denmark's Frederiksborg Palace

Early-entry private visit to frederiksborg palace, a danish renaissance masterpiece.

Dating to the early 1600s as a royal residence for the King of Denmark and Norway, Frederiksborg Castle – built atop three islands in a lake near Copenhagen – has been through many trials, tribulations and changes over the centuries. Following a disastrous fire in the mid-19th century, this Danish Renaissance masterpiece was reconstructed and restored according to its original plans and drawings. Today, it's the Danish Museum of National History… and you're invited to discover its grandeur on an early-opening private visit.

We really enjoyed our night in tiny Flam. The fjords and glaciers of Norway were absolutely stunning.

About Booking This Tour

Travel Documents

If you are a U.S. citizen traveling internationally,  you will need a passport valid for six months beyond the completion of your Tauck journey to enter Denmark, Sweden and Norway; however, you do not need a visa for the short duration of this tour.

If you are a citizen of another country traveling internationally,  you should contact an embassy or consulate of each of the countries visited on this tour to determine what travel documentation is required.

Please note that longer stays abroad for any purpose may require additional travel documentation.

We recommend that you make at least two photocopies of all the travel documents that you bring with you. Include copies of the photo page of your passport that contains the date of issuance, the date of expiration and your citizenship. Secure one set of copies in the safe in your room while traveling and leave one set behind with someone at home who will assist you in the event your documents are misplaced, lost or stolen.

To facilitate Travel Requirements, destinations are increasingly utilizing online forms that require digital proof that you've successfully completed your submission (via an email, QR code, etc.) To ensure smooth travels and peace of mind, we strongly recommend all guests carry a personal smart phone and sign up for international data plans before traveling overseas.

TRAVELING WITH CHILDREN AS A GUARDIAN: If you are traveling as the guardian of a child/children, we strongly suggest that you carry a letter from both parents of the child authorizing emergency treatment in the event of illness or accident. For travel abroad, many foreign countries have specific entry requirements for children under 21 who are traveling internationally without BOTH parents. (These requirements are in response to the increased incidence of children being abducted and taken abroad.) PLEASE NOTE THAT TAUCK IS NOT RESPONSIBLE for the disruption of travel caused by improper documentation for children traveling without both parents.

Travel Requirements For This Tour

Luggage Handling and Restrictions

Checked Luggage – General

Due to space restrictions, we ask that you please limit your checked luggage to one suitcase per person weighing no more than 50 pounds (23 kg) and with overall dimensions (length + width + height) not exceeding 62 inches (158 cm).

Besides complying with the Tauck restriction noted above, you should also be sure to research and comply with all airline baggage restrictions relating to your flights to and from your Tauck journey. Airlines have become much more strict in enforcing size and weight limits in recent years, and luggage exceeding airline standards for size or weight may result in expensive overage fees or other consequences.

Airlines are free to revise luggage policies without notice, and certain airlines have different baggage allowances for different classes of service. Researching and complying with airline luggage restrictions is the responsibility of the guest, and Tauck cannot be held responsible for any costs or disruptions to travel caused by the failure to research and comply with airline policies.

Tauck luggage tags will be provided by your Tauck Director on Day 1 of your itinerary. Please do not attach a Tauck luggage tag to any carry-on items, as the Tauck tags designate luggage that is to be handled and transferred by ground operators and hotel staff during your journey.

Carry-on Luggage - General

Although oversize bags and wheeled, carry-on luggage are popular for airline travel, they are often not convenient or appropriate for motor coach travel or for many on-tour flights. Most modern sightseeing motor coaches offer limited space for numerous or larger items. Space under seats or in the overhead rack is typically small, and designed to accommodate items like coats, hats, purses, and small camera bags, etc.

For your day-to-day travel while on tour, we recommend that you limit your hand luggage to a small, soft-sided carry-on piece, and that you bring only those items you need handy during the day such as make-up, medications, cameras, film, etc. Items too large to fit under the motor coach seat or on the overhead rack must be stored in the luggage bays beneath the motor coach, and may be inaccessible during daytime travel.

Health, Safety and Mobility

HEALTH CONSIDERATIONS

While drinking water is generally safe at all our hotels, bottled water will be available wherever the local water is not fit to drink. We also provide bottled water on the motor coaches.

If you have a medical condition which might limit your participation in activities, please consult your physician for pre-departure health advice and notify Tauck as soon as possible, if you have not already done so. We will advise your Tauck Director accordingly.

Please check with your health insurance provider to determine whether you are covered while traveling. If you will not be covered under your current policy, we strongly suggest that you arrange for adequate coverage while on tour.

If you are a resident of the U.S.,  no vaccinations are currently required for travel to the countries visited on this tour. For complete vaccination and inoculation information, please contact your physician, the public health service in your area, or the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to obtain information about vaccinations that may be required for your journey. The Travelers' Health Section of the CDC operates a 24-hour "Travelers' Health Hotline" at 800-232-4636 (toll-free in the U.S.). You may also log on to the CDC website by clicking  here .

If you are a resident of another country,  please contact an embassy or consulate of each of the countries visited on this tour to determine what vaccination(s) may be required for your travel.

SPECIAL DIETARY REQUESTS

The restaurants, hotels, caterers and numerous other partners we work with all do their best to accommodate special dietary requests from Tauck guests. However, given the diverse nature of those food providers (from small wineries to grand hotels to world-famous restaurants in more than 70 countries worldwide), some of our partners are better able than others to accommodate such requests. We therefore cannot guarantee that all dietary requests can be accommodated at every meal. Also, please note that where dietary requests can be accommodated, choices will frequently be limited.

To enjoy this tour, you should be in good health and able to walk reasonable distances, often over unpaved and uneven surfaces. Some of the most memorable sightseeing can only be accomplished on foot. The amount of walking you do, however, is at your discretion. Scandinavia is home to innumerable historic buildings and sites. Therefore, roads, walkways and architecture may present difficulties for some guests with physical disabilities. The visits to the palaces and castles, including Frederiksborg and Rosenborg, require climbing some steep stairways and walking moderate distances from the motor coach park to the entrance of the sites as well as within the grounds. There is a forty-five minute stroll on day 13 inside Vigeland Park in Oslo mostly on flat terrain. Perhaps the most challenging walk is at Briksdal glacier on day 9; the twenty-minute walk to the glacier is over rocky, uneven terrain. Although it can be rewarding and even exciting to get close to the glacier, the walk may not be for everyone.

All hotels on this itinerary have elevators, with the exception of the Toftaholm Herrgård due to the historic nature of the property. If you have difficulty walking, be sure to advise your Tauck Director at the beginning of the tour so that a room close to the public areas may be requested.

Smoking is not permitted on the motor coaches. The smaller hotels in Scandinavia tend not to have designated non-smoking rooms although they will make every effort to accommodate this request.

PLEASE NOTE:  We regret that this Tauck itinerary cannot accommodate wheelchairs or motorized scooters.  Likewise, we regret that we're unable to provide individual assistance to guests with walking difficulties or other personal needs.  The responsibility of the Tauck Director who accompanies your trip is to ensure that the larger group enjoys a relaxing and informative journey, and he or she cannot be relied upon to provide ongoing individual assistance to any one guest.  Guests requiring such individualized assistance must be accompanied by an able-bodied companion who can provide it.

Reading List

We have compiled a reading list of recommended books to give you more information about the destinations you will be traveling to on your upcoming journey!

You can view the reading list  here.

The southern halves of Sweden and Norway share in the climactic benefits of the Gulf Stream with Denmark. Their temperate climate has few extremes of heat or cold. The average high temperatures from May through September range from 55 to 75˚F (13 to 24˚C) and the average low temperatures range from 40 to 55˚F (4 to 13˚C). The lowland area around Oslo in Norway is the driest and warmest part of the country in summer. Not only is Bergen the warmest city in Norway, but it is also probably the wettest, averaging approximately 80 in (2,000 mm) per year.

To read about current weather conditions, we suggest you log on to the Internet website by clicking  here.

What To Pack

Bringing the right clothing for your trip is important – we've partnered with New Headings who provide an "easy-to-use, one-stop shop" for your Tauck travel needs, specifically selected for this trip.  Click here to visit their site .

Your journey is designed with leisure in mind. Dress for comfort and convenience with a wardrobe that is adaptable and allows for layering. Generally, during the day, casual, comfortable, cotton clothing is recommended. Cool weather at higher elevations or at night will require warmer, layered clothing. The summers in Scandinavia are warm, but medium-weight sweaters and jackets are recommended. A waterproof raincoat with a removable lining will give you the versatility you will need in this northern climate. A topcoat is recommended for spring and fall.

In Europe, especially in finer restaurants, it is generally customary to dress somewhat formally. Slacks or a dress for women and a jacket and tie for men are acceptable dining attire. It is advisable to avoid wearing jeans, sneakers or shorts for dinner. You may also wish to dress up a bit for the welcome reception and the farewell dinner, but by all means be comfortable.

You will find a hair dryer located in your hotel guest room. Valet laundry and dry cleaning services are also available for a fee; however, these fees may be very expensive.

We recommend that you pack an adequate supply of your prescription medication in its original container to last through your entire journey, together with a copy of your doctor's prescription or a letter from your health-care provider on office stationery explaining that the medication has been prescribed for you, a list of the generic names of your medication, your travel documents and a change of clothing in your carry-on bag to avoid any inconvenience in the event that your flight or luggage is delayed.

Following is a list of recommended items to pack for your trip to Scandinavia:

  • Casual daytime wear – shorts, slacks, long and short-sleeved shirts
  • An optional jacket and tie for men
  • Casually elegant evening wear for ladies
  • Sunglasses, sunscreen, hat
  • A light sweater or jacket for higher elevations or a breezy night
  • Binoculars (7x50 preferably)
  • Insect repellent
  • Camera, lenses, batteries, memory cards and chargers
  • Lightweight, comfortable, sturdy walking shoes that have already been broken-in
  • Travel alarm clock/cell phone with alarm function (many hotels do not have clocks in the rooms)
  • Rain poncho and collapsible umbrella
  • Daypack for camera equipment
  • Sundries and toiletries that may be difficult to find en route
  • Copies of your travel documents that should be secured in the safe in your hotel room while traveling

The 6 Best Denmark Tours For Unforgettable Adventures That Are Achievable & Affordable!

Expert travel storyteller Jordan Adkins, founder of InspiredByMaps.com, brings a decade of adventures across 101 countries and 450+ UNESCO sites into rich, off-the-beaten-path narratives, melding ecological expertise with genuine, seasoned travel insights. His full bio can be found here.

Denmark, surrounded to the south by Germany, to the east by Sweden, and to the north by Norway is a place of amazing experiences and breathtaking landscapes. It is a playground for the brave, from the undulating hills of Jutland to the towering cliffs of the west coast.

You will surely love a walk through lush forests, pedaling gorgeous roads, or kayaking across calm seas to discover this wonderful country’s secret coves and covered beaches.

While learning about this lively nation’s rich cultural heritage, sample wonderful local cuisine ranging from fresh seafood to substantial stews and pastries that will make you feel the real Denise taste through every bite. Denmark is a fantastic location for travelers seeking an exceptional experience, owing to its kind people, breathtaking nature, and limitless options for adventure.

In this article, we will discuss the six best Denmark tours to discover Scandinavia with a focus on Denmark. This country has a lot to offer all types of travelers, whether your preference is a deep adventure or a relaxed trip visiting historical sites and learning about Denmark and its people.

One interesting fact about Denmark’s prehistory is that the earliest evidence of human activity dates back to the Mesolithic era, around 10,000 BCE. Many groups arrived in the area over time, notably the Germanic tribes that would become the Danes. The National Museum, Kronborg Castle, and the Viking Center are all excellent sites to begin your exploration.

Have you heard about the National Park of Mols Bjerge? It is a lovely and diverse natural area that provides a fascinating insight into the Danish landscape and ecosystem. It is a must-see for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers like you. Yes, you read that correctly.

This park features an excellent blend of nature and style. The wow factor is that it appears to have everything from hiking and cycling trails to fishing and kayaking, allowing visitors to explore the park’s varied landscapes and admire its beauty.

Some travelers enjoy exploring new places with their families, and guess what? There is an entire amusement park designed for you and your family of any size and age. Legoland Billund, which has over 50 rides and attractions with a Lego theme, is perfect for your family. This is the best way to spend time with your family and create memories together.

best tour operators in Denmark - best Denmark tour package - best tours in Denmark - best tour companies in Denmark - best Denmark tours

There are roller coasters, boat tours, and recreated cities and landscapes made entirely of Lego bricks. You will be amazed at Miniland, a portion of the park that features miniature replicas of famous landmarks from around the world made entirely of Lego. It is one of the park’s most stunning attractions. So don’t be surprised to see your hometown completely replicated in lego bricks at this jaw-dropping Legoland.

Visiting the world with family is nice but we all can agree that one of the most difficult aspects of planning a trip is determining how much it will cost and how to allocate your budget. There are numerous expenses to consider; transportation, lodging, food, activities, souvenirs and the list goes on and on.

It can be difficult to reconcile your desire to do and see everything with your financial constraints, especially if you’re visiting a new location with unfamiliar prices. The good news is that you don’t have to worry about all of these anymore when you join a group tour. You will know all clear information from industry experts who will help you plan your trip without hassle.

In addition, group tours can be the best way to quickly connect with people who share the same interest in your travel destination. You can share beautiful moments with them and cherish every second that passes while capturing the most daring and fun moments for an album of travel memories.

With that said, here are the 6 best Denmark tours to discover Scandinavia with ease with a focus on Denmark.

This journey will take you on an in-depth cultural tour of the top spots in Scandinavia, from Copenhagen’s bohemian districts to Oslo’s chic stores. Visit Gothenburg’s cobblestone streets, eat classic cinnamon buns at a Swedish coffee shop, and then kayak to Vrango Island.

In Scandinavia, the adventure is genuine. This article, on the other hand, will concentrate on Denmark, with possibly brief mentions of what to expect as the trip progresses through Sweden and Norway.

Before you continue reading, keep in mind that the regions visited on this tour can be quite chilly at night all year, especially at the beginning and end of the season and during the winter months. Throughout the summer, they can be similarly hot, yet moderate at times.

As a result, you are strongly advised to carry the appropriate clothing for the duration of your journey. Another factor to consider is the cost of goods and dining out; Scandinavia can be expensive at times.

Having said that, let’s continue the adventure!

You must be between the ages of 15 and 99 to participate in this tour. It is fully guided, takes a group of 12 people, and is also suitable for families, costing $1868 per person for 7 days. It covers your lodging, food, and transportation.

The whole tour from start to finish was very good, the guide sometimes were not very professional with the group and did not consider the disability of some people. I guess she is young and not very experienced. All the hotels were top class. Maybe more time in Oslo, was a bit rushed. Overall a tour to be recommend.

Biggest problem that we had was a guide because of her heavy Spanish accent, it was hard to understand her sometimes. Also, the information that she presented to us was not sufficient or interesting. She was repetitive, searching for words. Accommodations were good except the last hotel in Stockholm. It was outside of the city, shabby, old . I would use a different tour company next time.

Nikolai was FANTASTIC!!!! He was a great tour leader. The tour took us to many places and he educated us well. However, just a few negative comments. The hotels were not satisfactory ....I am used to better hotels when I travel. Carrying my luggage throughout the tour was very burdensome. I am an older person, and although I am in great shape, I did not want to be responsible for carrying my luggage everywhere. There was an 89 year old man on our trip. He had a real hard time catching up. I usually go on escorted tours where my luggage, and everything else, is handled by the guides, not by me. I loved the places that wer went to and overall I would suggest people take Tourradar and Intrepid if they don't mind doing some of the labor involved.

What people love about denmark, norway and sweden tours.

I was worried about the culturally mixed tour clients due to some negative reviews from previous clients. But I enjoyed the experiences of mixing with participants from Mexico and the Philippines. Yes sometimes bilingual guides’ presentations were not clear, and I had to ask for clarifications. Hotels were better than I had expected from the reviews; except in one-hotel the lightening was so bd
My trip was well organized. The Tour Leader Amanda and the Driver Raffie were both excellent. The cities, sites, people, and events experienced were a joy.

Scandinavian Highlights

Welcome on our Highlights of Scandinavia Tour! On this tour we will visit …

The Denmark’s capital is at once historic, modern, romantic, intellectual, grandiose and elegantly understated.

Copenhagen, Denmark

A glorious mix of old school tradition and new fashion, Copenhagen is a bubbling hot spot of trendy eateries, and happening night-spots. It is not a cheap city, but there are less expensive options if you know your way around. Copenhagen is one of our favorite destinations, and we have a few tips and tricks that could make your stay enjoyable and slightly more easy on the wallet.

Exploring Copenhagen

While there are so much history and culture crammed into this city, it often gets overlooked, especially by children, because of Tivoli Park. The biggest and most exciting theme park in Copenhagen, Tivoli is always busy and contains the ridiculous Star Flyer, that kicks off 80 meters up in the air.

Copenhagen adventures

Not everyone wants to go to an amusement park, and be flung around in the air by machines. Some people prefer a quiet evening of drinks and friends. Quietness works in Copenhagen, particularly along many of the streets that branch off the Stroget. There are music clubs, jazz venues and fantastic restaurants, and this often leads on to a big night on the town, but with less pressure on your wallet. Should you want a little bit more of a highbrow adventure, then there is always the Royal Danish Theater in Copenhagen, where incredible plays and shows take place. We are happy to assist and help with bookings and transportation to the theater or any other venue.

Eating and drinking in Copenhagen

A memorable meal that is fast becoming famous out of Copenhagen is the organic hotdog. Instead of the grilled and somewhat unhealthy versions of yore, the new releases often consist of vegan sausages, with onions and sauerkraut and on a linseed-sprinkled bread roll. While it’s not quite traditional, a walk around Copenhagen will introduce you to an astonishing number of hotdog vendors. There is also the uber-cool Torvehallerne = the massive covered food market, where people queue every day for any of the tempting offers from the 80-odd vendors. Workers cycle down or walk down and order a quickly-prepared meal, eaten at trestle tables outside the vendor stalls.

What to see and do in Copenhagen

It is wildly unique, and Freetown Christiana is quite an experience. It is a famous hippie commune that co-exists with the rest of the city and is the old army bungalows that were taken over by these independent people. It is also quite an experience to shop on the Stroget, one of the longest pedestrian streets in Europe that offers everything from a shopping perspective that you could ever want.

Where to stay in Copenhagen

It’s hard to believe that there are 15 Michelin rated restaurants and a wide array of accommodation options. We strive to help people to find the most suitable accommodation options for their needs. Indra By is the busy Old Town, with the modern nightlife and happening clubs and bars located in this area. If you are that little bit budget conscious, then you should look at the Latin Quarter, a pleasant but slightly cheaper area that focuses around the university, therefore there a lot of students and less expensive digs in the area. If you’re in Copenhagen with a family, however, then Nyhavn is the best option, with colorful houses and a beautiful little harbor. Allow us to point out some of our favorite accommodation options, and assist in your choice.

How to get around in Copenhagen

Copenhagen is pretty much the most well-known bicycle city in the world, with roads and traffic rules designed around the ease and convenience of people cycling. There are several rental agencies for bicycles, and if you’re not on a bike, then the second-best option is on foot. There is an excellent public transport system, but it is a bit overshadowed by the bicycle brigade.
