Garth Brooks Keeps on Adding Dates to 2022 Stadium Tour

By Jon Freeman

Jon Freeman

Garth Brooks was forced to abruptly cancel his 2021 Stadium Tour in August as the Delta variant of Covid-19 began making new case numbers surge. On Tuesday, he announced plans to resume the trek in 2022 with his first stadium show in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Brooks will play the Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium, the 76,000-capacity home of the University of Arkansas football team, on Saturday, April 23, at 7 p.m. According to a release, it will also be Brooks’ only appearance in Arkansas and Oklahoma in 2022. Tickets go on sale Friday, Dec. 3, at 10 a.m. CT, with buyers assuming Covid risk and agreeing to the venue’s Covid rules.

After his last Stadium Tour date in Nebraska, Brooks made the announcement he was canceling the rest of the shows, five dates in all. “Watching this new wave, I realize we are still in the fight and I must do my part,” Brooks said at the time.

More recently, Brooks has taken to playing smaller venues where tighter safety measures could be ensured. He played three nights in Nashville on Nov. 18, 19, and 20, giving solo acoustic performances at the Grand Ole Opry House and the Ryman Auditorium.

Garth Brooks’ 2022 Stadium Tour Dates: March 5 — San Diego, CA @ Petco Park March 26 — Orlando, FL @ Camping World Stadium April 15 — Nashville, TN @ Nissan Stadium April 16 — Nashville, TN @ Nissan Stadium April 23 — Fayetteville, AR @ Donald W. Recent tour reviews

This is not necessarily a review of Garth’s performance as much as it is a review of the venue. The sound quality inside U.S. Bank Stadium was not the best. I think an outdoor venue, or at least a venue with an open roof, would have been a better choice. I am fully aware that the venue was not made for concerts, but if concert planners are going to start using football stadiums as concert venues, then the sound quality should be considered before booking events, in my opinion. Garth himself was wonderful!

there are 3 artists that i wanted my kids to see they loved Prince and liked Michael and Garth. had tickets to Prince concert it was 3 weeks after he died my kids had gotten them for my bday which was weekend he passed. I was lucky as hell back when MTV was real music tv and ewas cool not the piece crap it is now when they had contests and shit. I lived in Gillette wyoming and was dating a girl who was friends with this chick from Sheridan and was lucky as hell won contest to have Prince come to her town for the release of Purple Rain and i got to go with the chick i was sleeping with. (i was totally fixing blow her off the day i heard on tv and she called and told me i was going with her) went to sheridan and met him he wasnt as reclusive then as in later years and he was there meet people but he didnt talk to many when Jesse Johnson introduced us he told Prince I was totally a brother somehow trapped in white mans body. he spent atleast 20 minutes there with us and Morris jopined us. I told Prince he was my Idol clear back then and he was interested in how in redneck country i heard his earlier albums told him my brother was black and gaved me all his albums. we had little clique there of 6 guys we called ourseklves the time and had our own names and told him and Morris and they were like maybe everyone in wyoming were hicks. so i totally wanted my kids see him and i never got to see Michael so wanted us go together but Garth believe it or not with No Fences he was his first tour with the Judds and my band Steelwheel had released our album 8 months before Garth and we were Opening for Judds on a 24 date cebtral and northwestern U.S. leg of their tour and Garth opened for us and watching him which i did more every concert so much so few times i had to get help setting up and tuning my set. he was so freaking awesome even back then i told him after 2 nd week that he wouldnt be opening for anyone very long he would be the main artists on his next tour and he was so humble he was like i dont think it be that soon maybe 4th album and i told him he was the first performer i had seen in longtime (told him my goddfather Alice Cooper only one i knew put on a show and thatr he was giving him competiton)tghat cared about the fans and did his best to make everyone feel like they had seen a show and that he did with a much smaller space than shoulda been possible. and he said thanks and that if he did make it big that i would always have tickets to his show and that i just needed to tell whoever was at door that hoss was here with message from his (mom but had to tell them her middle name which i wont say he outa respect but i seen him 4 times after first was his first headling concert and true to his word he had Betty come get me and i was backstage at the 4 concerts and twice in vegas. and my son is a Beatles and hip hop fan but Garth one his favorites and daughter is AC/DC and metal fan but same with Garth and they both loved Prince and we missed Michael and have tickets to the concert Prince was going to do 3 weeks after he died in Minneappolis but i have not gotten them to the Last True Pwerformer of Modern age Garth and i will do whatever it takes to make sure they see him before anything happens to any of us. told them there was Michael , Prince. George, Johnny Merle and Waylon and Garth that were true artists and were Heaven sent to make us happy and of all my heroes Garth last one alive and i will get my kids to see his show cause he puts on a show that even Alice has to take second to and theres never been anyone or never will there be again like him . He and Prince were and are i swear on all i believe are true angels from heaven and God missed Prince and sooner or later hesgonna want his other angel back.

I’ve seen Garth twice before the HLSR show last night. Once when he was an opening act and second just after Friends in Low Places came out. Both of those shows were great, but last nights show was different. Garth seemed like a little kid enjoying every moment. I was working the show for CSC and watching our guest face and reactions were priceless. All I can say is WELCOME BACK GARTH. Oh one more thing, wanna know where was Ty England? I missed him last night.

ABOUT GARTH BROOKS

Garth Brooks just completed the three and a half year long Stadium Tour. It drew an average of more than 95 thousand people in each city it played and was seen by a cumulative audience of nearly three-million people. The tour ended in September when Garth played the fifth sold-out concert at Dublin, Ireland’s Croke Park. The five concerts were seen by over 400-thousand people. Also in September, Garth was honored with the Kris Kristofferson Lifetime Achievement Award at the NSAI’s Nashville Songwriter Awards, held at the Ryman Auditorium.

On sale now is “The Anthology, Part II: The Next Five Years.” In this Anthology, Garth picks up where he left off in “The Anthology, Part I: The First Five Years,” telling his story in his own words and offering fascinating insights to his career and personal life from 1996-2001.

In May 2021, Garth Brooks was one of five artists to receive one of the most prestigious honors an artist can receive, The Kennedy Center Honor. Garth is the first-ever seven-time recipient of the CMA Entertainer of the Year honor. Brooks is the first and only artist in history to receive nine Diamond Awards for the now nine diamond-certified albums at over 10 million album sales each. He remains the #1-selling solo artist in U.S. history, certified by the RIAA with 157 million album sales. Last year, he was awarded Country Touring Artist of the Decade at the 2021 Pollstar Awards. In March 2020, Garth received the esteemed Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. The event aired on PBS. He has received every accolade the recording industry can bestow on an artist.

In November 2020, just after receiving the Billboard Music Icon Award, Garth released two new albums, his 12th studio album, “FUN” and live album “Triple Live Deluxe.”

After the success of “Garth & Trisha Live!” during prime time on CBS in April 2020, CBS also aired “Garth & Trisha Live! A Holiday Concert Event,” in December. Both specials featured Garth and Trisha taking song requests through Facebook, live from their studio, Allentown, in Nashville.

In November of 2019, A&E aired “Garth Brooks: The Road I’m On,” over two consecutive nights. Part of their esteemed ‘Biography’ franchise, the documentary offered an intimate look at Garth’s life as a musician and father over his entire career.

In January 2020, Billboard announced that Garth Brooks was the first artist to make it on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in the 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s and now 20s. Garth debuted “Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old)” in 1989. Now, with “Dive Bar,” a duet he sang with Blake Shelton, he makes his appearance on the list in 2020. The single inspired a DIVE BAR tour to dive bars in country music capitals around the country which will continue its run of stops through 2022.

Last year, Garth went vinyl with his meticulously-curated vinyl package, LEGACY. This career-defining collection includes No Fences, The Chase, In Pieces, Fresh Horses and Triple Live, plus CDs with bonus tracks for a total of 7 vinyl albums and 7 CDs in each edition.

In 2017, Garth finished the three-and-a-half-year long Garth Brooks World Tour with Trisha Yearwood. The tour sold over 6.3 million tickets, making it the biggest North American tour in history and the biggest American tour in the world.

Garth also has Inside Studio G, a weekly Facebook Live series. It airs every Monday on Garth’s Facebook page at 7 p.m. ET.

Garth Brooks Sets 2022 Stadium Tour Date for Cincinnati

Garth Brooks has announced another massive stadium concert as part of his ongoing Stadium Tour. The country music icon is set to perform at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio, at 7PM on Saturday, May 14, 2022.

The upcoming show will mark Brooks' first-ever performance at Paul Brown Stadium; though he announced a date there in 2020 , the COVID-19 pandemic led to that date being rescheduled to 2021 before it was finally canceled. According to a press release, Brooks' previously announced date set the all-time record for entertainment in Cincinnati in 75 minutes with a sellout of more than 70,000 when it initially went on sale in May of 2020.

The show in May will also be Brooks' only Stadium Tour concert in Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia. Tickets for the performance are slated to go on sale on Friday, March 11, at 10AM ET, with an eight-ticket limit per purchase. Seats will be available exclusively via Ticketmaster at ticketmaster.com/garthbrooks or by calling the Garth Brooks line at Ticketmaster at 1-877-654-2784, as well as through the Ticketmaster mobile phone app. There will be no tickets on sale at the venue box office on Friday, March 11.

All seats to the show will cost a total of $94.95, which includes all applicable taxes and fees. The purchaser assumes all risks of COVID-19, and all COVID-19 rules apply.

Brooks has been steadily announcing new dates after suspending the remaining portion of his U.S. Stadium Tour dates for 2021 in response to the continuing spread of the Delta variant of COVID-19. The country icon  canceled his remaining 2021 Stadium Tour dates  in August due to COVID-19 concerns.

The Garth Brooks Stadium Tour is slated to wrap with five dates at Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland, which are scheduled for Sep. 9-11 and Sep. 16-17.

Garth Brooks Tour Dates

Garth Brooks Tour info:

Country Superstar Garth Brooks tour dates are filling up fast and Garth has officially launched a world tour with his wife Trisha Yearwood . The last few years have found Garth working weekends at a residency in Las Vegas at the Wynn Hotel and Casino, however, in November hotel developer Steve Wynn let it slip in an interview recently that Brooks had some big plans. According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, Brooks will perform his first world tour in 16 years that year. News of the upcoming gig came out when Wynn mentioned publicly that Brooks is “itching to get started on a world tour.” [bctt tweet=”Get all your #GarthBrooks tour info here at CountryMusicOnTour.com! #HotTicket “]

We have also confirmed that Garth is currently shopping songs for a new “comeback” album. “You talk about songwriters, the great ones can birth a career, but the greatest ones can bring life back into one,” Brooks notes. “So we’ll be looking hard for songs just to see what the future might hold for us.”

Garth Brooks Biography

The fastest selling solo artist in music history, Garth Brooks has sold in excess of 100 million albums in just 10 years, now topping 117 million. Garth Brooks tour dates are the hottest concerts on record and his body of work propelled country music as a genre to the front pages of newspapers worldwide and the covers of magazines, to the point where Forbes declared on its cover, “Country Conquers Rock.” and featured Garth in a major music piece. And, he accomplished it without ever releasing a song to pop radio. The key to his record-setting success lies within the personality and talent of Garth Brooks. It has been said that through the 1990s, Garth’s only real competition was himself. He brought daring individualism and a love of music, ranging from working class blues and honky tonk to bluegrass and arena rock, to the musical table. And he had the talent to serve it up with class. His easy-going, approachable charisma was matched only by his fearless willingness to take chances and step outside the lines. He has had an unprecedented run so far and opened the doors for many more country artists to follow.

His self-effacing demeanor is an unusual trait for a big star. As quiet and low-key as Brooks appears to be off stage, he is the complete opposite once the curtains go up and he hears his fans cheering. He’s known for flying above the crowd on a wire while singing his countless hits. Garth Brooks is the biggest selling solo artist of all-time with album sales approaching 100 million units worldwide. Had he sold all his albums in the United States it would mean that roughly 1 in 3 Americans would have one of Garth’s albums! In fact, the only ones to have sold more albums than Garth are the Beatles, but they have a 20-year head start on Mr. Brooks so he may catch up to them yet.

After the release of Scarecrow, Brooks eased into retirement, spending the next few years quietly and not resurfacing in the public eye until he had a busy 2006. Toward the end of that year, he married country singer Trisha Yearwood on December 10, but prior to that, he struck a deal with Wal-Mart to become the exclusive retailer for his back catalog. The first release under this deal was a new box set called The Limited Series that collected all the albums he released after his first box set called The Limited Series. Garth Brooks photo courtesy of garthbrooks.com This second Limited Series was released in time for the holiday season of 2005 and also included a new disc of outtakes called The Lost Sessions which was later released as an individual disc in 2006. The Lost Sessions featured a duet with Yearwood called “Love Will Always Win,” which climbed to 23 on the country charts in ‘06, a modest placing that was nevertheless his biggest hit since “Wrapped Up In You.”

Retirement for Brooks seems to just mean “take it at a normal star’s pace”. He spends more time with family now, but still managed to get involved in screenwriting, new album releases, and televised concert specials.
