About Pelican Cruise

Started offering service in early 2012, Pelican Cruise is one of the most popular luxury cruise lines in Halong Bay. The fleet of Pelican Cruise has a total of three vessels, one was launched in 2012 while the two others were put into waters in 2013.

Following the luxury standards, each Pelican Cruise has 22 well-appointed cabins, a luxury bar & restaurant, and a spacious sundeck. In terms of accommodation, each cabin in Pelican cruise has been set in a perfect setting to meet various requirements. All cabins have a wide bow-window and a private balcony and feature wooden floor and hand-made furniture. Contemporary amenities such as Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, in-house telephone, private bathroom, hot and cold shower can be found in each cabin.

Cruise itinerary

Depart Hanoi for a scenic drive to Halong Bay (transfer by shuttle bus or private vehicle, not included in cabin price). Check in at Tuan Chau Marina and embark the luxury Pelican Cruise.

Lunch will be served after check in and relax with good food as you sail toward Da Chong Islet, passing Incense Burner, Dog Stone Islet, Fighting Cock, Soi Sim Beach, Coconut Tree Island. By mid-afternoon, you will have a chance to venture to Tung Sau area for kayaking and and swim by Titop Island. You can also climb up to the top of Titop island to enjoy the panoramic view of Halong Bay.

Anchor nearby Lom Bo area. At 19:30, enjoy a deluxe dinner. Relax with night activities such as board games or squid fishing. Spend overnight on board.

Start your day with Tai Chi on the Sundeck. At 07:00, have breakfast with tea, coffee, and pastries while cruising towards Surprise Cave.

Back to the boat, relax before checking out round 09:30 while passing by Hoa Cuong area, Ngon Tay islet (Finger Islet), Ga Choi islet, Lu Huong islet, Ba Hang area, Dog islet. At 10:00, brunch is served in the restaurant. Disembark at the harbor and take our shuttle bus to return to Hanoi at around 11:30 am.

You will get back to Hanoi at 14:30 approximately.

Be picked up from your hotel in Hanoi and start your trip to Halong Bay (transfer by shuttle bus or private vehicle, not included in cabin price). Bus ride will take around 3 hours. Reach Tuan Chau Harbour and rest a bit before boarding the cruise.

Check in is at noon and lunch will be served shortly after. As you sail towards the myriad caves and islets, you will have the opportunity to visit Tung Sau area to learn how locals make pearls or kayak around at your preference. Enjoy the quiet space and pure air before we proceed to Titop Beach.

Enjoy plenty of time at Titop Beach with activities such as hiking or swimming. Then, the cruise moves and anchors in Luom Bo area during the night time.

Dinner will be served at 7:30PM. There are plenty of opportunities for relaxing at night such as Spa service or squid fishing. Overnight on board.

Start your day with early morning Tai Chi on the Sundeck. Breakfast will be served at 07:00 and try to take a spoonful so as to have energy for this activity-packed day. 

At 8:30 transfer to a day cruise (smaller day boat) to cruise towards Cua Van Floating Fishing Village. Guests can choose to kayak or take a sampan boat rowed by a local to take a close look at authentic floating houses and learn about villagers' daily life.

Enjoy lunch on day boat. Visit Tien Ong Cave - one of the most pristine caves on Halong Bay. Back to Pelican Cruise, enjoy sunset party on top deck with happy hour.

Attend our cooking class on sundeck or watch the magnificent sunset view over the bay. Luxury Vietnamese dinner will be served. Free evening activities.

Enjoy early fresh air on the bay and do some Tai Chi exercise to release stress and gain energy for the whole day. Have breakfast and start the trip to Surprise Cave. Lunch will be served and later check out to get disembarked and get back to Hanoi at around 14:30.

Please be advised that the weather in January is pretty cold with foggy thus if your trip plan is flexible, you may consider changing to the end of March or April. Until that time, the weather is warmer and nicer. For transfer, as shuttle bus only picks up and drops off in Hanoi old quarter thus if you want to be dropped off at the airport, you would need a private car. There were 6 of us. We booked 2 nights on Pelican Cruise. The boat itself was not new as the picture but clean. Our cabins were comfortable. We visited the island and went kayaking on the first day. On the second day, we were on the day boat to visit a fishing village and a small cave in a quiet area. The trip was very relaxing. On the last day, Surprise Cave was huge and beautiful but much more crowded. The food was nice and plentiful. The staff was very kind and helpful. A 2-night package is recommended!

We booked a Royal Suite which was spacious and had a nice view with a private balcony. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was clean. The food was excellent. Although there were quite a lot of activities continuously, we enjoyed the itinerary. Thank you for a great trip! We would recommend our friends.

My family had a 1-night tour with Pelican. The ship was downgraded a bit but the cabin and public areas were kept clean and neat. The food was diversified. Drinks were excluded and fairly expensive. Halong Bay was breathtaking and you will never regret it.

Our group had a fabulous night on Pelican cruise. The cruise was not so crowded so we could enjoy privacy. Cabins were very well-appointed with a very large balcony and many modern facilities. The food menu was outstanding and well-catered. Highly recommend this cruise.

The cruise and its staff were amazing. The whole crew was friendly and professional. They served all the needs of guests.The rooms were comfortable and clean. In addition, the food was delicious and the activities namely kayaking, swimming and visiting caves were enjoyable.

Love every minute on this cruise with its beautiful decoration. The food was delicious and plentiful too. Drinks were not included in the price and were a bit expensive so I only tried once. My family had a memorable 2-day trip on Pelican Classic cruise. The cabins were spacious enough for all members. The balcony was large and airy so I took at lot of beautiful pictures there. I particularly loved the hike to the top of Titop island with breathtaking view of the bay.

The cruise took us to Halong Bay with highlights such as Sung Sot cave and Titop island. Though it was a bit crowded, I still enjoyed swimming and the cool atmosphere. The cabins and services onboard were acceptable with helpful and polite staff.

Lovely Cruise in Halong Bay”

We did the 2 night Cruise on the Pelican - the staff were all lovely. The food was excellent, it was amazing the quality of the food they could produce on the boat. we paid extra and had one of the bigger rooms on the top deck which I think was worth the money - their was fruit and a complementary bottle of wine in our room. We were there is January so the weather wasn't great, we chose not to swim as it wasn't that warm, however we did go kayaking and stopped off at Ti Top island and walked the steps to the top to experience the view - which is really worth it by the way. They put both the one day guests and 2 day guests on the same boat - which is not explained at the start. on day 2 - the 2 day guests transfer to a smaller day boat and go out for the day on that - its more kayaking and a trip to a pearl farm and a trip round a fishing village. on day 2 you have lunch on board the day boat - to be honest this lunch was a bit disappointing after the lovely food on board the main boat - but it was ok. There is a gala dinner each night - it follows the same routine each night - however if you are a 2 night guest you are provided with a different meal - which is good. Its a big meal by the way!! You probably don't experience a lot more by staying for the extra night however if your trip isn't too tight for time, I would recommend it as it makes the whole experience more relaxing - the 4 hour mini bus trip is a LONG trip on a bumpy road with one 20min stop halfway. The roads are crazy and watching out the front window is not for the faint hearted, therefore I would recommend staying for the 2 nights to have a more relaxed trip. Halong bay was fantastic, it really is breathtaking and the junket trip is fun to experience. If you are going to Vietnam - make sure you squeeze in a trip to Halong Bay.

I initially booked with Pelican and then they moved us to Azalea cruise which is also run by the same company. The experience with Azalea was just perfect, the crew are very nice to everyone and they look into all your needs. The manager Diago was just magnificent with the way he managed the crew and how well he treated the guests. He kept everyone upto date on the plans , what else we could do while on the cruise and some great infomration on Halong bay/Lan Ha bay and its history. I was so glad that he was our cruise manager since I don't think anyone else would have kept us so entertained and had such a unique way of telling us the details of every place we visited. Overally, defnitely worth booking with Azalea with Diago as your manager.

We loved our Halong Bay cruise with Pelican. The boat was lovely and filled with character, and we were so pleased that we spent a little more for a suite room with private balcony at the front of the boat. It was all very comfortable. The food was tasty without being spectacular, but that wasn’t an issue for us. The off boat activities were well organised and fun, even though you’re sharing them with lots of tourists from other boats! We’d happily do a Pelican cruise again.

SUPERB experience, Halong Bay so Beautiful ”

It was very nice. I booked 1 Single Deluxe room good for one person for a 2 Days and 1 night cruise, we enjoyed a lot. The food was great, always buffet. We are always full. We request for a pick up service in the airport and it was really on time. The van is spacious, a ford van. Very very nice, the view going to Halong Bay is also very nice. Pelican is a SUPERB and affordable.

Overall, it was a terrific experience! It was a family trip and my parents and I really enjoyed the magnificent view of the bay in company of the wonderful staffs. The guide was very kind and accommodating too. I would definitely recommend Pelican Cruise to friends who are visiting halong bay.

7.30 – 08.00 Pick up from your hotel in Hanoi. Drive to Halong City through the paddy fields in the Red River Delta.

10.00 Stopover on the way for refreshments

12.00 – 12.30 Arrive at Tuan Chau Wharf – Break and photo opportunities at Pelican Private Lounge

12.30 Transfer by tender to the boat

13.00 – 13.30 Check in and enjoy Welcome Drink, receive cruise briefing and safety instructions.

13.30 – 15.00 Start cruising. Enjoy lunch buffet with Vietnamese and International dishes served while the cruising through the bay

15.10 – 16.30 Visit Bat Cave by bamboo boat or kayaking based on your preference. Enjoy quiet space and pure air, you will feel relaxed truly. If lucky, you will have chance to see monkeys on islands.

17.15 – 17.50 Visit the beautiful Soi Sim beach for sưimming (if the weather permits) or you can reach on the top of Soi Sim beach to have a panorama view of Halong Bay.

Day 02 HA LONG BAY – BAI TU LONG BAY – HALONG BAY

06.15 – 06.45 Enjoy Tai Chi instruction on the sundeck (duration about 30 minutes).

07.00 – 08.00 Coffee, tea and breakfast pastries is served in the dining room

08.30 – 10.30 Transfer to another boat to Vung Vieng fishing village. Have 2 hours for cruising. Time for sun bathing on sundeck, enjoy beauty of Bay (if the weather permits)

10.30 – 11.15 Visit exciting Vung Vieng fishing village by local rowing boat, the village is free from busy roads and streets, and skyscraper. Instead, there are only a few of boats and rafts. You will have chance to discover traditional culture and customs of fishermen.

11.15 Back to cruising. Vietnamese Lunch is served on boat.

12.30 – 14.00 Kayaking and swimming at Vung Ha, a pristine natural beach lapped by turquoise water. Possibility of kayaking through an amazing tunnel carved under a limestone mountain.

14.30 – 16.30 Cruise back to Pelican Cruises. Free time on boat

07.45 Transfer by tender to the Sung Sot Cave Walk up about 100 steps to the cave entrance and tour the cave for approximately 45 minutes. Walk down about 100 steps and return to the boat. Proper shoes are highly recommended

09.00 – 9.30 Return to the boat then check-out and payment at reception area.

Milalux Cruise is designed with an elegant and sophisticated white metal case. The impressive yacht with 3 sails at the front, the body, and the stern are both traditional and modern. All bedrooms, restaurants, gyms... are lined with luxurious wooden floors.

The MilaLux includes all 3 floors: the first deck, the upper deck, and the sundeck.

• The first deck: has 12 Deluxe Ocean Suites large 18m2. Besides, the reception and spa areas are at the back of the cruise positioned perpendicular to the kitchen.
• The upper deck: is the space for 06 Suite Ocean View and 02 Royal Suites. The dining room from the front of the deck to the stern.
• The sundeck: contains a variety of comfortable sofas where you can relax and enjoy the sun.

The Deluxe Ocean View room type is located on the first floor of the yacht, includes a total of 14 rooms, and has a balcony with a sea view. The room is arranged with large glass doors that help the guests contemplate the beautiful scenery of Ha Long Bay. The entire floor is made of luxurious wood, and the room is full of luxurious amenities. This room type is suitable for travelers traveling with honeymoon couples or families.

Coffee, tea and pastries for breakfast are served in the dining room with the morning view of bay’s landscape.

08:30 – 11:30: Transfer by tender to Sung Sot Cave. Walk up about 100 steps to the cave entrance. It takes approximately 45 minutes for cave visiting. Visit Sung Sot Cave, one of the biggest cave in Halong bay with beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. Return to the boat by tender. Proper shoes are highly recommended.

Back to Pelican Halong Cruise. Check out and settle your bill at the reception.
