Asian Tour unveils early 2023 schedule ahead of strongest-ever season
The Asian Tour has unveiled its 2023 schedule through May, for what promises to be the finest start to a season the Tour has ever enjoyed.
The campaign will commence in Saudi Arabia, at the most lucrative event of the year, before being followed by an exciting blend of established and new tournaments, including four International Series events.
The impressive schedule boasts a total of 11 tournaments contested over 14 weeks, starting with the $5 million PIF Saudi International — won dramatically by American Harold Varner III this year when he holed a 92-foot eagle putt on the 72nd hole – at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club, near Jeddah, from February 2-5.

The Tour will then journey to two inaugural International Series tournaments in Oman and then Qatar – marking the first time the International Series will have visited the Middle East. Al Mouj Golf will host the former event, while Doha Golf Club will stage the latter.
These will be the first of an expanded 10 International Series events in 2023, with International Series stops to follow in Hua Hin, Thailand, in March, and Cam Ranh, Vietnam the following month. The International Series Thailand launched the International Series earlier this year and saw American Sihwan Kim triumph at Black Mountain Golf Club, while the Tour visits the spectacular KN Golf Links for the first edition of the Vietnam event. This will be the first time the Asian Tour will return to Vietnam in seven years.
The New Zealand Open makes a popular return to the calendar following a two-year COVID-19 enforced break in the first week of March at Millbrook Resort in Queenstown – the tournament’s home since 2014.
The DGC Open, inaugurated in the 2022 season, will also be staged in March at the historic Delhi Golf Club, as well as the Tour’s long-awaited return to Hong Kong with a new event at one of the region’s most iconic golfing venues, the Hong Kong Golf Club.
“We are very proud to announce the start of the 2023 season, hot off the heels of a tremendous 2022. It is fantastic to see us carry the momentum of the season we have just completed and start the new season at full pace.” said Cho Minn Thant, Commissioner & CEO, Asian Tour.
“The Asian Tour is absolutely thrilled with how the schedule looks. It reaches a wide range of exciting destination, offers extremely lucrative purses, world-class venues and a great balance of established and new events.
“The PIF Saudi International, a truly global golfing event, is the perfect way to start the season and sets the tone for what will be, unquestionably, the strongest season in the history of the Asian Tour.”

Asian Tour announces early 2023 season schedule
Golf in uae, golf in uae world.
Starts with the $5 million PIF Saudi International powered by Softbank Investment Advisers
The Asian Tour today unveiled its 2023 schedule through to May, for what promises to be the finest start to a season the Tour has ever enjoyed.
The new season will commence in Saudi Arabia, at the most lucrative event of the year, before being followed by an exciting blend of established and new tournaments, including four International Series events.
The impressive schedule boasts a total of 11 tournaments contested over 14 weeks, starting with the US$5 million PIF Saudi International powered by Softbank Investment Advisers – won so dramatically by American Harold Varner III this year when he holed a 92-foot eagle putt on the 72nd hole – at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club, near Jeddah, from February 2-5.
In the ensuing two weeks, the Tour will then journey to two inaugural International Series tournaments in Oman and then Qatar – marking the first time the International Series will have visited the Middle East. Al Mouj Golf will host the former event, while Doha Golf Club will stage the latter.
These will be the first of an expanded 10 International Series events in 2023, with International Series stops to follow in Hua Hin, Thailand, in March, and Cam Ranh, Vietnam the following month. The International Series Thailand launched the highly successful International Series earlier this year and saw American Sihwan Kim triumph at Black Mountain Golf Club, while the Tour visits the spectacular KN Golf Links for the first edition of the Vietnam event. This will be the first time the Asian Tour will return to Vietnam in seven years.
The New Zealand Open presented by SKY SPORT makes a popular return to the calendar following a two-year COVID-19 enforced break in the first week of March at Millbrook Resort in Queenstown – the tournament’s home since 2014.
The DGC Open, inaugurated in the 2022 season, will also be staged in March at the historic Delhi Golf Club, as well as the Tour’s long-awaited return to Hong Kong with a new event at one of the region’s most iconic golfing venues, the Hong Kong Golf Club. Details of this event will be released soon along with information on back-to-back tournaments in Thailand in April and a Korean event in May.
“We are very proud to announce the start of the 2023 season, hot off the heels of a tremendous 2022. It is fantastic to see us carry the momentum of the season we have just completed and start the new season at full pace.” said Cho Minn Thant, Commissioner & CEO, Asian Tour.
“The Asian Tour is absolutely thrilled with how the schedule looks; it reaches a wide range of exciting destination, offers extremely lucrative purses, world class venues, and a great balance of established and new events.
“The PIF Saudi International powered by Softbank Investment Advisers, a truly global golfing event, is the perfect way to start the season and sets the tone for what will be, unquestionably, the strongest season in the history of the Asian Tour.”
The 2022 season, which saw 20 tournaments staged, came to a dramatic conclusion two weeks ago in Indonesia where Thailand’s Sarit Suwannarut stormed to an impressive victory, marking himself down as one to look out for next year, while Sihwan Kim secured the Asian Tour Order of Merit (OOM) title and Zimbabwe’s Scott Vincent, the International Series OOM.

2024 Man o' War Stakes predictions, odds, time, horses, contenders: Surprising picks by horse racing insider
Beyer speed figure maker bob weir reveals his picks for saturday's man o' war stakes 2024 at aqueduct racetrack.
Trainer Charles Appleby will try to bounce back from a winless weekend when he sends out the top two favorites in the 2024 Man o' War Stakes on Saturday at Aqueduct Racetrack. Appleby, who is based in Europe, has enjoyed success shipping his horses to compete in the highest graded turf races the United States in recent years, posting a robust 37.5% winning percentage since 2021. However, last weekend he went a combined 0-for-4 in stakes races at Churchill Downs and Aqueduct. On Saturday, Appleby's Nations Pride is the 8-5 favorite in the 2024 Man o' War Stakes odds, while his Silver Knott is the 3-1 second choice among the 2024 Man o' War Stakes horses. Kertez (5-1), Ohana Honor (6-1) and Tawny Port (6-1) round out the top five choices in the nine-horse 2024 Man o' War Stakes field.
Post time is set for 3:39 p.m. ET. With several accomplished horses entering the starting gate on Saturday, you'll want to see what Saratoga Springs-based racing insider and Beyer Speed Figure maker Bob Weir has to say before making any 2024 Man o' War Stakes picks .
A member of the Beyer Speed Figure-making team since 2017, Weir is a two-time qualifier for the prestigious National Horseplayers Championship in Las Vegas. He has produced multiple five-figure days at the track over the years, including a $60,000 Pick 6 at Del Mar in 2014 and an $18,000 Pick 5 at Tampa Bay Downs in early April.
In April of last year, he hit a Pick 4 at Gulfstream Park for $641, the exacta in the Florida Derby, a Pick 5 at Keeneland and the exacta in the Lexington Stakes. He smashed the trifecta in the Belmont Stakes for $532.96, and later in June he crushed a Pick 4 at Belmont for $555. Those were just some of his scores from 2023. And just last weekend, Weir hit the exacta in the Churchill Downs Stakes for $852.
For Saturday, he has handicapped the 2024 Man o' War Stakes lineup, made his picks and constructed his bets. You can head to SportsLine now to see them .
Top 2024 Man o' War Stakes predictions
One surprise: Weir's top pick is not Nations Pride, even though he is the top favorite at 8-5. A 5-year-old Irish-bred, Nations Pride has run five times in North America, winning three times. Last October, he won the Canadian International Stakes at Woodbine.
However, Nations Pride has the disadvantage of not having a race since Nov. 17. "This looks like the first spot of the year and he may need a race," Weir told SportsLine. Weir prefers two horses more than Nations Pride. You can see all of Weir's 2024 Man o' War Stakes bets here .
How to make 2024 Man o' War Stakes picks
Moreover, Weir's top pick is a horse who "could be poised for a step forward." He also is high on a double-digit longshot with plenty of upside. Weir is including these horses in his 2024 Man o' War Stakes bets, and so should you. He's sharing which horses to back only at SportsLine .
So who wins the Man o' War Stakes 2024, and what double-digit longshot is a must-back? Check out the latest 2024 Man o' War Stakes odds below, then visit SportsLine to see Weir's picks for the Man o' War Stakes, all from the horse racing insider who has had multiple five-figure days at the track and just hit an $18,000 payday , and find out.
