Asian Tour unveils early 2023 schedule ahead of strongest-ever season

ladies asian golf tour 2023 schedule

The Asian Tour has unveiled its 2023 schedule through May, for what promises to be the finest start to a season the Tour has ever enjoyed.

The campaign will commence in Saudi Arabia, at the most lucrative event of the year, before being followed by an exciting blend of established and new tournaments, including four International Series events.

The impressive schedule boasts a total of 11 tournaments contested over 14 weeks, starting with the $5 million PIF Saudi International — won dramatically by American Harold Varner III this year when he holed a 92-foot eagle putt on the 72nd hole – at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club, near Jeddah, from February 2-5.

The Tour will then journey to two inaugural International Series tournaments in Oman and then Qatar – marking the first time the International Series will have visited the Middle East. Al Mouj Golf will host the former event, while Doha Golf Club will stage the latter.

These will be the first of an expanded 10 International Series events in 2023, with International Series stops to follow in Hua Hin, Thailand, in March, and Cam Ranh, Vietnam the following month. The International Series Thailand launched the International Series earlier this year and saw American Sihwan Kim triumph at Black Mountain Golf Club, while the Tour visits the spectacular KN Golf Links for the first edition of the Vietnam event. This will be the first time the Asian Tour will return to Vietnam in seven years.

The New Zealand Open makes a popular return to the calendar following a two-year COVID-19 enforced break in the first week of March at Millbrook Resort in Queenstown – the tournament’s home since 2014.

The DGC Open, inaugurated in the 2022 season, will also be staged in March at the historic Delhi Golf Club, as well as the Tour’s long-awaited return to Hong Kong with a new event at one of the region’s most iconic golfing venues, the Hong Kong Golf Club.

“We are very proud to announce the start of the 2023 season, hot off the heels of a tremendous 2022. It is fantastic to see us carry the momentum of the season we have just completed and start the new season at full pace.” said Cho Minn Thant, Commissioner & CEO, Asian Tour.

“The Asian Tour is absolutely thrilled with how the schedule looks. It reaches a wide range of exciting destination, offers extremely lucrative purses, world-class venues and a great balance of established and new events.

“The PIF Saudi International, a truly global golfing event, is the perfect way to start the season and sets the tone for what will be, unquestionably, the strongest season in the history of the Asian Tour.”

SCHEDULE FOR ASIAN TOUR 2024 REVEALED

Asian Tour’s thriving 2024 tournament schedule points to good times ahead.

The Asian Tour’s remarkable period of accelerated growth will continue unabated in 2024 after it recently released another impressive and substantial schedule for the new season.

Hot on the heels of the completion of its 2023 season, the Tour has unveiled an initial schedule of 20 strong events across 12 countries – with a significant number of important tournaments to be added.

Once finalised it is expected that the schedule will surpass last year– which saw 23 events staged with total prize money of US$35 million.

The IRS Prima Malaysian Open returns to the 2024 schedule of the Asian Tour

The IRS Prima Malaysian Open will celebrate its return to the schedule after a four-year hiatus by becoming the season-opening event and will be played at The Mines Resort and Golf Club, from 15-18 February. The event was last played in 2020, when American Trevor Simsby triumphed.

It will be followed the week after by the International Series Oman – the first of 10 International Series events in 2024, which provide a pathway to the multi-million-dollar LIV Golf League.

International Series events will be played in Macau (International Series Macau presented by Wynn, 14-17 March), Morocco (4-7 July), Indonesia (31 October – 3 November), and Qatar (28 November 28 – 1 December).

New Zealand’s Ben Campbell’s birdie on the final hole won him the 2023 Hong Kong Open

The Hong Kong Open will once again be part of The International Series, and making its debut on the series will be the PIF Saudi International powered by Softbank Investment Advisers, which was the Tour’s opening event in 2022 and 2023. Both events will be in Q4. The dates will be announced later along with the details of three more International Series tournaments.

The Tour will also once again return to two of its traditional tournament strongholds, Korea and Chinese-Taipei.

Three events will be played in each market, with the GS Caltex Maekyung Open (2-5 May), Kolon Korea Open (20-23 June) and Shinhan Donghae Open (5-8 September) staged in Korea; while the Yeangder TPC (26-29 September), Mercuries Taiwan Masters (3-6 October) and Taiwan Glass Taifong Open (14-17 November) will be hosted in Chinese-Taipei.

The New Zealand Open presented by Sky Sport (29 February – 31 March), the Saudi Open presented by Public Investment Fund (17-20 April) and the SJM Macao Open (10-13 October) are also back on the schedule.

Abraham Ancer went wire-to-wire to win the Saudi International last year

“The strength and depth of the Asian Tour’s 2024 schedule is reflective of the phenomenal growth we have been enjoying and we are already excited about what the new year will bring,” said Cho Minn Thant, Commissioner and CEO, Asian Tour.

“Importantly, we are delighted to confirm the schedule so soon after the completion of our 2023 season, which will allow our members to plan accordingly and act as an enormous incentive to those heading to Qualifying School.

“The International Series events combined with our central column of established tournaments form the backbone of the Tour while we look forward to being able to announce other premier events in due course.”

The Asian Development Tour schedule will be released later in 2024 and will feature an expanded line-up of tournaments, for what is the Asian Tour’s constantly evolving feeder circuit.

2024 Paris Olympics Women's Soccer Group C: Schedule, rosters, predictions, and full details

By caden charpentier | jul 12, 2024, 10:27 am edt.

Spain v France - UEFA Women's Nations League 2024 Final

If we had to select a so-called 'group of death' in women's football at this summer's Paris Olympics, Group C would be it. Talk about a loaded group. Three of the four sides are ranked within FIFA's top nine of the world rankings with the disciplined 11-time Women's Africa Cup of Nations rounding out the group. It goes without saying but the teams that make it out of this group will surely be battle-tested for the quarterfinals.

With Montserrat Tomé now in charge, the defending World Cup champions have their eyes set on picking up right where they left off in Australia and New Zealand. Spain, who had never qualified for an Olympics on the women's side before, battled through a grueling inaugural UEFA Women's Nations League bracket to earn one of the two European spots among the 12 (not counting France, the hosts).

It's impossible not to consider this nation the frontrunner. Top to bottom, Spain is the best in the world and proved it last summer. Since the World Cup began, La Roja has outscored opponents 61-19, scoring five or more goals on six different occasions.

The 2023 Ballon d'Or Féminin winner Aitana Bonmati headlines the squad along with Real Madrid's Olga Carmona and the leader in shot-creating actions from the 2023 World Cup, Teresa Abelleira. Barcelona's Salma Paralluelo leads a talented forward group that also includes one of Arsenal's newest additions, Mariona Caldentey.

Arthur Elias and the two-time Olympic silver medalists Brazil roll into this major tournament after its worst showing at a World Cup since 1995. Its performance at the 2022 Copa América Femenina secured it a spot in Paris along with fellow finalists Colombia. As of now, this tournament will be Marta's last major one with the Brazilian national team. There are beliefs around the football world that she could return with the 2027 Women's World Cup in her home country. Elias, who wanted both experience and youth in his team left Debinha , Cristiane, and Geyse shockingly out of the Olympic squad.

22-year-old Jheniffer was chosen as one of the seven forwards in addition to North Carolina Courage's Kerolin who has not played a competitive football match since October 15, 2023.

The winners of Group C at the 2023 World Cup, Japan will make its sixth appearance on this stage. Nadeshiko Japan's best finish was as a runner-up at the 2012 Games led by Norio Sasaki. Using some incredible tactical flexibility, the Asian outfit has shown it can beat the world champions. Spearheaded by 2023 World Cup Golden Boot winner Hinata Miyazawa, and one of the best defensive midfielders in world football Yui Hasegawa, this well-coached side has the potential to make a run into the semifinals.

Closing out Group C is Nigeria, a nation that pushed England to the brink in the Round of 16 at the World Cup, finishing in 10th place in the entire tournament. The African giants are entering their fourth Olympic Games but their first since 2008. Chiamaka Nnadozie, Asisat Oshoala, and company can not be overlooked. We made that mistake last summer. The other three outfits are going to have to earn it all against Randy Waldrum's team. Australia, even in front of its home fans , learned that the hard way. Nigeria has in fact not lost a match in regulation since last February against Colombia down in Mexico.

A record of seven first stage Asian Tour qualifying school scheduled for 2025

' src=

The Asian Tour has finalised the 2025 Qualifying School schedule with a record seven First Stage tournaments feeding into the Final Stage at the end of the year – where lucrative playing privileges for the new season will be secured.

Following the recent announcement that Mt Derrimut Golf and Community Club in Melbourne, Australia, will host the opening First Stage qualifier, from September 17-20, the School will go coast to coast in the United States for two stages before staying in Thailand in the lead-up to the Final Stage, to be played at Lakeview Resort & Golf Club, in Hua Hin, from December 17-21.

Last year the Asian Tour made history when it staged a qualifier in the United States for the first time, at Soboba Springs Golf Club in California. This season will build on that with the school making two visits there: first to Tesoro Club in Florida from September 29-October 1, before returning to Soboba Springs, from November 5-8.

Pattana Sports Club in Chonburi is the next stop, from December 3-6, before Grand Prix Golf Club in Kanchanaburi, Phoenix Gold Golf Bangkok, and Springfield Royal Country Club, stage events simultaneously from December 10-13.

Said Cho Minn Thant, Commissioner & CEO, Asian Tour: “The popularity of the Asian Tour Qualifying School is a barometer for the success of the Asian Tour and once again this year we are expecting a huge response from players globally wanting to enjoy playing our schedule.

“Our international schedule of events and players means we are absolutely in need of a qualifying school that caters for this, hence returning to Australia and the United States and having seven First Stage Qualifiers meets our needs in terms of size and scale.”

Each First Stage event will be played over four rounds, with the top-placed finishers earning places in the Final Stage – played over five rounds, with the top-35 earning their cards.

Sweden’s Kristoffer Broberg took top spot at the Final Stage of this year’s Qualifying School, played at Springfield Royal Country Club and Lake View Resort and Golf Club in Thailand.

668 players were involved in the last edition of the Qualifying School, including those who played in the six First Stage qualifiers. The Final Stage comprised 219 players from 35 nations reflecting the increasing global popularity of the Asian Tour.

Registration for the 2025 Asian Tour Qualifying School will begin today, July 3, 2024. Check out  asiantour.com/q-school  for more information.

Media credentials open for 53rd playing of event, featuring star-studded LPGA Tour lineup

PORTLAND, Oreg., July 8, 2024 – The longest running non-major event on the LPGA Tour, the  Portland Classic  will return to Columbia Edgewater Country Club for the 53rd playing of the tournament on August 1-4, just one week before Olympic Women’s Golf begins in Paris.

The preliminary field for this year’s Portland Classic features top LPGA Tour talent, with 2023 U.S. Women’s Open champion Allisen Corpuz headlining the field. Corpuz, a member of the 2023 U.S. Solheim Cup Team, will be looking to play her way onto the 2024 Solheim Cup team while in Portland, as will her fellow LPGA Tour winners and Solheim Cup alumni Cheynne Knight, Lizette Salas and major champion Jennifer Kupcho, among others.

Currently, there are three players in the field from the state of Oregon, including University of Oregon alum Caroline Inglis, who is a member at Columbia Edgewater. Gigi Stoll of Beaverton, OR will be making just her fourth LPGA Tour start of the season at the Portland Classic while Yvonne Yu Qi Vinceri, an amateur from Redmond, OR, will be making her first ever. Vinceri won the Les Schwab Tires Amateur Open in June to earn her place in the field as a sponsor invite.

Thailand’s Chanettee Wannasaen will be back to defend her title at Columbia Edgewater, where she shattered the course record in 2023 with a -26 score to par and won her inaugural LPGA Tour victory after Monday qualifying for the event. Joining her in August are two more past champions of the event, Andrea Lee and Solheim Cup U.S. Team captain Stacy Lewis.

Meanwhile, other esteemed past champions of the Portland Classic like Brooke Henderson, Hannah Green, Jin Young Ko and Georgia Hall will be preparing to represent their countries in Paris at the Olympic Games. They will be joined by 56 more of the world’s best female golfers when the Olympic Women’s Golf event begins on August 7, the Wednesday after the Portland Classic.

Media members interested in covering the Portland Classic virtually or in person may apply for credentials at  lpgamediacredentials.com . The deadline to apply is Monday, July 29 at midnight.

2024 Scottish Open live stream, where to watch online, TV schedule, channel, tee times, golf coverage

Get your coffee ready as the pga tour heads to scotland for a couple of weeks.

scottish-open-flag-g.jpg

The PGA Tour goes international for its annual two-week stretch in Scotland, beginning with the 2024 Scottish Open. Welcoming a full field to the Renaissance Club, the PGA Tour once again teams up with the DP World Tour for the co-sanctioned event. Originally only apart of the European circuit, the Scottish Open has doubled as a PGA Tour event the past two seasons.

In doing so, it has identified a couple of big-name winners in Xander Schauffele (2022) and Rory McIlroy (2023). Making birdies on his final two holes, the Northern Irishman skirted past Scotland's Robert MacIntyre and into the winner's circle for a one-stroke victory. McIlroy is set to defend his title this week in what will be his first start since his runner-up performance at the U.S. Open last month.

Joining Schauffele and McIlroy in the field are a number of players still seeking their first victories of 2024. Ludvig Åberg arrives in stellar form, as do two-time major champion Collin Morikawa and England's Tommy Fleetwood. Reigning FedEx Cup champion Viktor Hovland is beginning to find his footing, and other youngsters like Min Woo Lee and Tom Kim are sure to factor in given their favorable history around the par 70.

Justin Thomas, Wyndham Clark, Max Homa and Brian Harman round out one of the strongest fields of the season in the final event before the final major championship of 2024.

WGS 84 coordinate reference system is the latest revision of the World Geodetic System, which is used in mapping and navigation, including GPS satellite navigation system (the Global Positioning System).

Geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) define a position on the Earth’s surface. Coordinates are angular units. The canonical form of latitude and longitude representation uses degrees (°), minutes (′), and seconds (″). GPS systems widely use coordinates in degrees and decimal minutes, or in decimal degrees.

Latitude varies from −90° to 90°. The latitude of the Equator is 0°; the latitude of the South Pole is −90°; the latitude of the North Pole is 90°. Positive latitude values correspond to the geographic locations north of the Equator (abbrev. N). Negative latitude values correspond to the geographic locations south of the Equator (abbrev. S).

Longitude is counted from the prime meridian ( IERS Reference Meridian for WGS 84) and varies from −180° to 180°. Positive longitude values correspond to the geographic locations east of the prime meridian (abbrev. E). Negative longitude values correspond to the geographic locations west of the prime meridian (abbrev. W).

UTM or Universal Transverse Mercator coordinate system divides the Earth’s surface into 60 longitudinal zones. The coordinates of a location within each zone are defined as a planar coordinate pair related to the intersection of the equator and the zone’s central meridian, and measured in meters.

Elevation above sea level is a measure of a geographic location’s height. We are using the global digital elevation model GTOPO30 .
