That there is still a spot on Dubai’s 99-acre Madinat Jumeirah estate that feels undiscovered comes as a genuine surprise, given that the resort, an Arabesque fantasy of four hotels on 1.25 miles of private beachfront overlooking the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah , celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2024. But checking in to one of the newly refurbished Malakiya Villas at Jumeirah Dar Al Masyaf is like stepping into your own private kingdom. There are seven discrete two- and three-bedroom residences, including the 7,000 square foot Royal Malakiya Villa. Each has its own private plunge pool and terrace, and guests arrive via whisper-quiet abra rides through man-made tropical lagoons. Interiors are a swirl of soft grays and creams, leather, silk, and bouclé, offset by grand Impressionist-style artworks. One&Only The Palm Arrow

One&Only, The Palm Resort attracts a mix of global travelers, some from Dubai itself, others from Europe and Asia. The hotel feels like a serene oasis, no matter if you're lounging by one of the magnificent pools or winding down in your Bose speaker-equipped room. Many of the 430 rooms at Al-Naseem, the most modern accommodation in the gargantuan Madinat Jumeirah complex, have views of the Burj Al-Arab. If you’re a high-roller, the 5,300-square-foot Royal Suite has two bedrooms, a movie room, a gym, and private landscaped gardens. Most other rooms have extended private terraces, too.

The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai Arrow

This sprawling beach resort from the Ritz-Carlton has the look and feel of a tranquil Moorish villa, complete with a private beach. Despite the feel of a luxurious retreat, there are abundant restaurants with walking distance and a metro station less than a mile away. The experience is faintly Arab-inspired, from the rose macarons served upon arrival to the geometric Islamic carvings on the window screens in the rooms. As big as you’ll get in the Emirate, rooms are spacious and aesthetically designed with a regal aesthetic in mind. Decked out in platinum or gold tones, each room has a glittering chandelier, its own terrace and an elaborate stately marble bathroom with tub, shower, dual vanities and luxe toiletries. 

Burj Al Arab Jumeirah Arrow

It was a smart move, even in those far-off pre-Instagram days, to design this hotel with such a distinctive silhouette. Since rising off Jumeirah Beach in 1999, the Burj has been the symbol for Dubai as much as the Eiffel Tower is for Paris . And despite fierce competition—the regal One&Only , superchic Bvlgari —this homegrown star is still regarded with a mixture of affection and awe. Arriving here and looking upward can make a head spin: The atrium rises 590 feet, a dancing waterfall flanked by aquariums. And the hotel has found fresh ways to innovate, with Michael Ellis, formerly of the Michelin Guide, heading up the restaurants, and Robuchon disciples bringing French finesse to 27th-floor Al Muntaha. While the pool terrace is a lesson in pared-back luxe, the rest of the show is a Baz Luhrmann-style production, with crystal ceilings, silk wallpaper, and gold-plated iPads. In a land of record-breaking one-upmanship, this place still feels audacious. Doubles from $400.  

Bab Al Shams, A Rare Finds Desert Resort, Dubai Arrow

Bab Al Shams reveals herself slowly, her sandstone exterior—an ode to traditional Emirati forts—half-hidden by spindly date palms and sand dunes. In a city that so often leans into excess, the grande dame of Dubai’ s desert resorts works her magic with restraint.

For almost two decades, UAE residents have made the 45-minute pilgrimage from the city up Al Qudra Road—past outlandishly shaped man-made lakes, swirling cycle paths and endurance horse-racing tracks to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and indulgent weekends at Bab Al Shams. The city may be creeping closer, but this is still the place we come to get away from it all. The resort’s much-photographed infinity pool, which drops off into a vast sandy expanse in a paradox of elemental opposites, is the draw for many. For me, it’s the quiet, which is all-enveloping and absolute. The resort comes into its own as the sun sets, the silhouettes of sand dunes framed in pinks and mauves; bamboo torches flickering along the perimeter and lanterns creating a play of light and shadow in outdoor passageways.

Now Bab Al Shams is fresh from a 10-month, no-holds-barred renovation, with new bragging rights as the first property in the Rare Finds Hotels & Resorts collection by the Kerzner group (Atlantis, One&Only). The exterior remains largely unchanged, the deep solid walls, arches, alcoves and geometric patterning lifted directly from the UAE’s vernacular architecture. But interiors have been transformed by a deft hand, the gilded ornamentalism that characterizes the country’s Arabesque-inspired resorts forsaken for a lighter touch. The lobby, once a warren of dimly lit, compartmentalized spaces, has been opened out and brightened up. In my terrace garden room, instead of dark woods and heavy upholstery, nods to tradition come in delicate mother-of-pearl detailing on arched mirrors, brass studs on cupboard doors and majlis-style seating in a corner nook. Teal accents flit from headboards and furniture piping to diamond-shaped mosaic tiles in the rain shower.

The hotel is unassuming, but not devoid of spectacle. At Al Hadheerah, a colossal open-air restaurant, nightly performances accompany the Arabian classic dishes: a belly dancer, whirling dervish, musicians, singers and even a re-enactment of a Bedouin -caravan with camels and horses crisscrossing a bordering desert plateau. Cooking stations serve lamb salona and chicken biryani, and the spirited Egyptian chef de cuisine takes great delight in showing guests the underground contraption used to prepare his seven-hour slow-cooked lamb ouzi. More sedate meals are served at the Mediterranean-inspired Zala or Pan-Asian Anwā, a prime sunset spot.

Bab Al Shams remains loyal to her desert environment. In the newly opened standalone spa, home to male and female hammams carefully crafted from green-veined Cipollino Nuvolato marble, some treatments use De L’Arta, a locally grown skincare line featuring Tetraena qatarensis, a shrub found in abundance around the hotel. On a recent visit, a morning safari took us through Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve, over powder-soft pale-yellow dunes, past camels feasting on desert grasses, regally horned Arabian oryx, skittish gazelles and the season’s first migratory flamingoes. Indian rollers flitted between ghaf trees and lizards scuttered off into hidden burrows. It was a reminder, as Bab Al Shams has always been, that there is immense natural beauty in the UAE, if you only stop to look. From $417. —Selina Denman

Raffles Dubai Arrow

An architectural landmark, Raffles Dubai channels an Egyptian pyramid both inside and out. Signature Rooms are among the largest in Dubai at nearly 800 square-feet and have private terraces overlooking the city. Rooms have marble and pale gold accents, patterned rugs, and pops of burgundy, plus mood lighting that highlights Arabic-inspired fixtures.

Habtoor Grand Resort, Autograph Collection Arrow

The rooms here feel like little jewel boxes, decorated in relaxing hues of blue and seaform and trimmed with crisp white. King Club rooms have expansive floor-to-ceiling windows with chaise longues, though all rooms have a sitting area, mini bar, electric kettle, and a safe (some have vases of fresh bamboo, too).

The Meydan Hotel Arrow

On the outskirts of Dubai and across from the Meydan ractrack, this hotel is popular with horse-racing junkies and business travelers in town for a conference. It's impossible to miss out on the action if there's a race going on—all rooms overlook the racetrack and have TV monitors installed in both the bathroom and entryway. The rooms are unsurprisingly high-tech, especially the bathroom where you can control the water temperature and pressure at the touch of a button.

Palazzo Versace Dubai Arrow

Very tan couples come to this opulent Italian villa for a Versace-branded stay. The deluxe and premier rooms are a refreshing departure from the sea of neutrals that plagues so many other Dubai hotels. In the bathroom, Roman-inspired tile mosaics are embedded into the walls, while more tile is inlayed in the marble floors. You’ll want to sneak home as many of the Versace-branded toiletries as you can fit in your carry-on.

Jumeirah Al Qasr Arrow

It’s an opulent Arabian palace: picturesque walkways, lined with palm trees, and an ornate gold-and-black marble-columned lobby, adorned with mashrabiya (carved latticework). Al Qasr in particular takes the palatial vibes to the next level.

Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai Arrow

The fourth-floor pool area is made for Instagram: white sunbeds, hot pink towels, and breathtaking views of Burj Khalifa. (It turns clubby after dark, with shisha and a DJ.) Breakfast is included and the buffet features a little of everything—pastries, smoothies, and hot and cold dishes from various cuisines.

Habtoor Palace Dubai, LXR Hotels & Resorts Arrow

The Habtoor Palace exudes a sense of Frenchness, from the beaux-arts building and Louis XV-style furniture to the rooms that resemble Parisian apartments and the burger with foie gras. The butler program goes above and beyond with packing services and garment pressing—the butlers are accessible via WhatsApp any time of day.

Rove Expo Hotel Arrow

The only hotel within Dubai's Expo 2020 site, you won’t get any closer to the action than this. At the epicenter of the 438-hectare site, it is a celebration every day at Rove Expo Hotel. In keeping with the Rove brand, the hotel attracts a fun, social crowd keen to make the most of the location. Although minimal in its design approach, each room is stylish and functional. The Rover rooms are the standard, and although the bathrooms are a little on the small size, there are pull-out sofas for the kids and all you need in a short hotel stay. There are nods of the region in the furnishings and artworks produced by local creatives. Terraces allow for that sense of place and they’re ideal for a spot of people watching.

Palace Downtown Arrow

Built on a lake opposite of Burj Khalifa, Palace Downtown immediately reminds you of a Moroccan riad with its elegant archways, rose petal-adorned lobby, thoughtful reflecting pools, and palm-lined walkways. The public spaces have decidedly Arabian touches like inlaid tables, lanterns, and keyhole doorways.

The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina Arrow

Everything in Dubai is grand, but the Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi's elegant and vast lobby is truly grand with plush furnishings, fresh flowers, and a sunlit atrium. The hotel is far from Dubai's main tourist draws but is set on a secluded beach and has eight on-site restaurants.

Fairmont the Palm, Dubai Arrow

Set on the “trunk” of Dubai’s famous Palm, The Fairmont opened in 2012. With its own impressive beach and large rooms with views, it’s remained a popular choice for all kinds of travelers who want a taste of Dubai luxury. The rooms are clean and contemporary, if a little simple. Decor isn’t over the top here—just a touch of Arabian latticework and a few pops of blue.

XVA Art Hotel Arrow

Situated in the Al Fahidi Historical District, the boutique XVA Art Hotel is a unique contrast to Dubai's ubiquitous ultra-modern hotels. Owner Mona Hauser has created a remarkable 13-room inn inside the former home of Dubai's Seddiqi family, world-famous luxury watch dealers. The individually designed rooms are filled with thoughtful Persian details and works from top Middle Eastern artists. There's even an on-site gallery, which exhibits both emerging and established Middle Eastern contemporary artists. Don't be surprised if you earmark an artist who later shows at international art fairs such as Art London and Art Basel Hong Kong.

Atlantis The Palm Arrow

Dubai's Atlantis looks almost identical to its Bahamian sibling, which is to say: magical. The first hotel to inhabit The Palm Island, it’s situated in the best location. The massive lobby is bustling at any time of day, but take a moment to pause and admire the common space's Dale Chihuly centerpiece comprises more than 600 pieces of blown glass. The resort truly has it all: a massive waterpark, an aquarium, luxury shopping, and more restaurants than you can count on both hands. If you have a herd of kids that you want to keep entertained and happy, this is the place to go.

Dukes The Palm, a Royal Hideaway Hotel Arrow

London's Dukes hotel attracts mainly English tourists to its modern property in Dubai. Everything is new here, from the super-soft beds and linens to the high-tech bathrooms. The British-style hospitality is refreshing compared to the area's over-the-top chic properties.

Bvlgari Resort Dubai Arrow

What makes the newly opened Bulgari stand out is its location on its own seahorse-shaped man made island, and its low-slung layout, a pleasing retort to the city’s ubiquitous canyons of skyscrapers. This is down to the group’s Milan-based architects, who anchored the hotel so it separates two bays: one an oh-so-quiet stretch of beach lined with villas; the other a super-smart marina with a sweep of restaurants and the Bulgari Yacht Club—a first for the brand.

The St. Regis Dubai, The Palm Arrow

In the Palm Jumeirah, this hotel delivers a dose of New York-style luxury to the emirate in Dubai’s most exclusive neighborhoods. Of its 290 rooms and suites there are three categories, all of them celebrating views of The Palm’s fronds and the city skyline, thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows. Although there are no terraces, guests can enjoy Frette linen and down-filled pillows and bathrooms boast tubs you’ll get lost in from which you can continue to drink in the fabulous views. The decor is sophisticated with gold and cream accents, leather bed heads and flecked carpet. 

Jumeirah Zabeel Saray Arrow

Located on the West Crescent of the palm, beachside Jumeirah Zabeel Saray exudes regional Arabian style, with hand-painted murals, lavish gold fixtures, and other Ottoman-inspired touches. A private beach, Thalassotherapy pools, and an opulent spa round out the experience.

Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai Arrow

The epitome of multicultural, modern Dubai, this beachfront property is all about maximum relaxation by day and sophisticated shimmering intrigue by night. Not only does the property provide a sophisticated broad-ranging culinary menu, but also has an exclusive Club Lounge. The lobby is breathtaking from the outset with its firefly-like glow on trees adorned with 900 lights, and highlighted by the crisp white marble floor.  The first venture for the Asia-based Mandarin Oriental group in the United Arab Emirates, the 256-room property was architecturally designed by Jeffrey A Wilkes, a man who is also responsible for the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok and the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai. Families are well catered for here with the Little Nomads kids club offering respite for parents in need of some down time; meals are free for children under the age of four and babysitting is available upon request.

Address Montgomerie Arrow

Set on the outskirts of Dubai, Address Montgomerie is a lush golf resort managed by Troon Golf, the same firm responsible for fairway-first resorts from Scotland to Arizona. The low-slung white buildings and manicured emerald green course are a distinct departure from the sparkling high-rises just a short drive away. With just 21 rooms, Address Montgomerie is never crowded or hectic.

Caesars Palace Dubai Arrow

The approach up to the first Caesars Palace property outside of Las Vegas lays the foundation for what’s to come, you don’t know where to look. Its position beneath the world’s tallest observation wheel, and the razzle dazzle it exudes impresses before you’ve even made it to the check-in counter. A casino-less Caesars Palace may seem crazy to some (the UAE has strict gambling laws), but there’s plenty that makes up for it here: Designed to reflect a modern take on the Roman Empire, the twin-hotel property boasts its own private residences and a beach club, and exudes flourishes of Romanesque design. The butler service afforded to guests who book suite stays is a nice touch, while the floor to ceiling windows provide a window to views of the city beyond.

ME Dubai Arrow

In a city of 160,000 hotel rooms, it is increasingly challenging to stand out. But here we have the world’s only hotel designed both inside and out by the late great Dame Zaha Hadid, and with an accolade like that, it had to deliver. The Opus, a gleaming glass structure punctured by an amorphous void that looks like an ice cube melting under the Middle Eastern sun, has sweeping curves and an organic-yet-space-age aesthetic that informs both the structure and a stay in it. The ME by Meliá group brings its artistic bent with a gallery space hosting rotating exhibitions and public areas decorated with vibrant canvases painted on site by Barcelona artist Mr. Dripping. The brand’s Spanish roots are also lightly woven throughout—Natura Bisse toiletries and spa treatments, tapas at Central, and a poolside parrillada producing tantalizing grilled aromas for adjacent restaurant Deseo. But ME doesn’t lean on paying homage to its roots or even that of the Arabian city it’s in—a relief in the U.A.E. where “modern Arabia” tends to be the styling default. Beyond dipping bedrooms in hues of the nearby desert (in the Aura category) and those of the buzzy city at night (in the Vibe rooms), ME plays by its own rules.

We were certainly wowed by our large deluxe 2 bed apartment overlooking the marina. Staff were so attentive, polite and friendly throughout the hotel. We had two slight issues which were dealt with immediately to our satisfaction. When they heard it was our anniversary we arrived back in the evening to find a fabulous cake in our fridge, a really nice gesture. Room service very reasonably priced "for Dubai" and the hotel itself was a great deal from Agoda "for Dubai" - note that Dubai must the the most expensive place in the world to holiday. Wifi was excellent. Two supermarkets and many restaurants nearby. Frontline to the marina. Only downside was that the pool only had sunlight until midday, which is fine if you're out and about a lot. I definitely recommend the hotel, however. Be nice and respectful and the staff will be nice and respectful to you too.

During the past 3 years I have stayed at 11 different hotel in Dubai (from Bur Dubai to Barsha to Discovery Gardens). This is probably "the best value for money" of the hotels that I have stayed at. Located close to ADBC metro station and with easy access to malls and other retail facilities at Bur Juman and Bur Dubai. The hotel rooms are larger than average and well equipped. Staff have been friendly and helpful. Facilities are of a reasonably good standard. Overall - well worth booking.

It was very easy to reach shopping malls in Dubai by metro, taxi or bus plus everything you would need from coffee shops, pharmacies, restaurants, rent a cars and supermarkets are only walking distance from the hotel. We will recommend the hotel to our friends. Believe me, the price per night at the hotel is very good compare to other hotels in Dubai at Sheikh Zayed road.

My wife and I spent 10 days at La Verda at the end of November and were thrilled with our choice. Not only is the location the best in the marina, the marina is one of the best locations in Dubai to enjoy the city anaad culture. The views from our room on the 22nd floor were fabulous, the hotel was quiet, comfortable and the staff was excellent. We enjoyed breakfast every morning outside beside the marina. The wait staff were there to make sure you had everything you needed. The Dubai Marina Mall has great shops and restaurants, it's a short 10 minute walk. The beach is close also, about a 15 min walk. We stayed at the Bonnington hotel for 4 nights this October. It is in a great location, very close to the metro and the Jumeirah parks/lakes. It is also close to the Atlantis Aquaventure so the taxi fare isn't too bad. The staff were the friendliest we have had in hotels, and we have been to a fair few. We would like to mention Stephan, Rahid and Christine for their attention and conversation, they were great and really made us feel welcome. All the staff were great and offered to help with anything they could. We upgraded to 'club' when we arrived to include an airport transfer back, access to the Business Club Lounge with free drinks from 6pm-8pm and free breakfast. Although this was a great experience, you need to be using the Business Club Lounge everyday and get those free drinks every evening to make the money worth it; we had booked a tour for one evening and so we think we probably lost money on the upgrade once we took into account how much a normal taxi transfer, the breakfast and the drinks we would have had otherwise would have cost. The outdoor pool is shaded and by the bar which plays good music throughout the day and evening. They also serve snacks and pizzas which we really enjoyed. We didn't use the gym but we probably will next time. The restaurant is nice in the evening but was very quiet when we went, I think only one other table was occupied. However, the food was delicious. There is an Irish Bar next door which we didn't have time to try. We were worried it would be noisy at first but our room was completely soundproof which was great. There is a tour desk through which we booked our day at the Atlantis which we loved. The only downside to this hotel was that the bathroom door was extremely heavy and we had to fight with it every time and the bed was a little bit hard, but we slept ok. Everything else was great and above expectation. We will definitely be returning to the Bonnington the next time we are in Dubai.

This truly was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. I can find fault with all my accommodation but this truly ticked ALL the boxes. The position and views were stunning looking out at the Atlantic Hotel, The Palm and over the sea. The beach and beautiful 4 poster beds on the beach had towels rolled up and waiting for the guests to use, the accommodation they have is to suit every taste, the entrance to hotel with hundreds of fresh flowers changed everyday with different colours, the tuk-tuk to take you around the site if the 4 min walk from area to area is too hot for you, the staff were so lovely (everyone we met was amazing and truly went out of there way), the arrival with a beautiful juice and wet towel to refresh, the chairs to sit on at reception whilst you check-in in comfort, the lotus lounge over looking the pool and sea for coffee, cake and high tea was stunning, the breakfast was truly the best catered for with variety so if you stay there a week you still would not be bored, the beach house restaurant over looking the sea had fab food and outlook and this hotel had the best kids club I have ever found at any hotel where they take the child and with around 5 + staff they really get creative with the kids, have playstation, face painting, drawing, dvd's and really good attention to the kids. My child did not want to leave after many hours in there. This gave my husband and I several hours to do what we wanted knowing our child was really enjoying the kids club. Truly we will be back. Also the courtesy bus to the Dubai Mall is great as well. We stayed in a Lagoon Room on 1st floor and we felt totally private in our own lovely resort. i love this hotel - it's beautiful and the views are stunning. the breakfast is good, the gym is great. the pool is a bit too small to do laps and there is no lobby or place to sit but the rooms get 10/10 the staff are excellent and the room service is of a very high quality. there are shuttle buses to the shopping areas and it's right next to the metro and taxis. i like the fact that the staff don't disturb the guests - just leave a note under the door. there is no bar but there are so many hotels and buildings with bars all around the area and it's easy to get taxis. the staff are very polite and discreet if you come home at 4am, they just smile, unlike another hotel in dubai where the staff have tried to stop me getting into my own room because i came home late and the night shift workers "didn't know my face" (i won't stay there again) the bathroom of the room i stayed in had no drain at all and i fell over and almost broke my arm. otherwise, excellent hotel!

This is a luxury hotel good for both business travelers and sightseers. It's located on Sheikh Zayed road (the main highway in Dubai, is close to the metro, and allows for easy access in taxis to all areas of Dubai. It's only 15 minutes from the airport and 5 minutes by taxi to the Dubai Mall and the Burj Khalifa. It's not very close to the beach if you're looking for a beach holiday, but they have a nice pool at the hotel. Unfortunately, Dubai is not a city designed to explore by walking (too hot and spread out). However, taxis are very cheap so you can take them everywhere. The concierge was very helpful, and the staff were friendly and efficient for the most part. For the turndown service, one night the staff only turned down the bed on one side (for one person) which was odd. Also, the cleaning staff entered our room to clean it one morning even though we put the do not disturb sign on the door while we went for a swim in the pool. Highly recommend the Desert Safari Tour that is located next to the concierge in the lobby of the hotel. Overall, if you're looking for a luxury hotel to stay in while you're in Dubai this is a good option from the many luxury hotels Dubai has to offer.

This was our third time to stay in Atlantis. It's definitely our first choice of stay in Dubai. It was our anniversary and Elena gave us a great room with palm view on the 15th floor. The next day we came into the room with a surprise dish of sweets and macarons with a note wishing us a happy anniversary! We looooooved it. The room service was so fast and the quality of the food was outstanding. They have the most delicious club sandwich as a late night snack and the best in-room Arabian breakfast. The room was big and comfortable. My only disadvantage would be their pillows. I didn't like them. I woke up with a stiff neck. Overall, Atlantis the Palm is the best hotel in Dubai. Booking through Agoda was a great decision because they offered the cheapest rates compared to other websites including the Atlantis official website itself.

We were surprised by the front desk staff to upgrade us to Premium Room upon our arrival to check-in to our Superior Room booked via Agoda. The room although on a smoking floor but there was no smoking smell in the corridor nor in the hotel room so we decided to stay in the Premium Room without any more changes. The room was clean & spacious with quite good city view. We were on high floor on 56th level & it was magnificent. The hotel staffs were all very friendly. Only the hotel lobby was not as grand as we had thought. The hotel location was fantastic as it was located right outside the train station. It was so convenient to travel to the Creek, Dubail Mall, Mall of Emirates & other attraction places. We wish we could stay there for a few more days unfortunately we needed to leave to Frankfurt, Germany for an exhibition. Only slight disappointment was the requested airport transfer when we arrived at Dubai International Airport, the sign was so small that we missed the driver for the first time. We had to look all over again carefully & finally found the driver. Then we had to walk to the car park to get his car as we thought he should be able to pick us up at the arrival driveway. He also did not put on a smile. Maybe it was very early morning 2am to pick us up & he might be also sleepy & tired. So we did not bother about him too much. It was kind of weird when we arrived to the hotel at the back entrance instead of front entrance. The room that we stayed had the water tap not fixed properly at the toilet washing basin. Stayed here 2 nights for our honeymoon and it was an amazing and unforgettable experience! When I booked the hotel, I added a comment 'We are on our honeymoon' not expecting much if anything. When we arrived, we were amazed with how beautiful and elegant the lobby was and the staff were very welcoming at check-in. When we got into the room we were treated with a wonderful surprise of a beautiful bed decoration and a bouquet of flowers on the side table, as well as rose petals in the bath tub! Later that night they even gave us a complimentary cake! In regards to the room itself, it was very stylish, modern and spacious! The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was big and modern. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel, we're very glad we stayed here! The fact that its connected to the mall of emirates was a bonus! Easy access to shopping and right next to our favourite restaurant in Dubai - The Cheesecake factory! We felt very lucky to have chosen this hotel to spend eight nights in while visiting Dubai. Until now with our frequent visits to Dubai since 1993, this hotel in our view was the best. We congratulate the manager, Mr Eltohamy who has made the hotel up to a high standard of services and guest satisfaction. The welcoming smile of the reception staff who were very helpful and understanding, especially Faizan, were the first to be appreciated. The Guest relation officer was a definite asset through listening to guests’ problems and desire in order to resolve them promptly. The hotel lobby was an attractive atmosphere strengthened by the continuous offering of Arabic coffee and fresh dates while sitting in the lobby. The suites were spacious and well furnished with excellent original furniture. Tea and coffee making facilities in addition to the well-equipped kitchen made life very easy. Most useful was the free strong Wi-Fi connection in the suites. An unusual but rather a feature we found it in the suite is the many framed paintings even in the bathroom. The hotel was very centrally located and opposite to the famous Deira City centre shopping mall, metro station and local restaurants. Everything was EXCELLENT at Marina Hotel Apartments, from location to their staff's hospitality. We booked for 6D5N. The apartment booked was huge with 2 spacious bedrooms with a bathroom each plus another toilet room and store room. Also spacious living area and balcony. So clean, feel like home. Perfect for families. The rooms and amenities are also exactly the same as the photos. Awesome east marina views & an amazing skyscraper view from 14th floor. Close to restaurants along Marina Walk, supermarkets, pharmacy, the DAMAC Metro & Dubai Marina Tram. The Marina Walk just below the hotel is nice place to stroll, especially in the evening. Free Wi-Fi provided with unlimited devices used, was very great, my boy love it to play online PS4. The front desk, bell boy, housekeeping, security guard & staff was very friendly, helpful & always smile. Suggestion: Need to provide TV in master bedroom & hot water for toilet's water spray. WE loved it so much. Till we come again to Dubai. :)

We were upgraded to an extremely spacious 3-bedroom suite. It had a fully stocked kitchen. Staff was very helpful, esp the Filipinos. It's a stone's throw away from the beach and The Walk, with multiple indoor and outdoor dining options. This place is more for relaxing, not for shopping. But it's next to a tram that can take you to mall of the emirates and dubai mall. Taxi is quite affordable as well. I'd stay here again so long as they can keep the price reasonable.

We arrived at the hotel at 230am with great welcome by the staff. The staff explained very well which room available for non-smoking as requested for 7D6N stayed. We had smooth check-in. The hotel just 5mins walking distance to Sharaf DG Metro, really easily accessible. 10-15mins walking distance to Mall of the Emirates. Supermarkets, pharmacies, saloons, spa, laundry & restaurants also conveniently located near the hotel. The staff at the reception was very helpful, extremely polite & the best part is they SMILE all the time. They assisted us in getting a taxi to go to Dubai Miracle Garden & our 2nd hotel at Dubai Marina. The housekeeping staff also very helpful and do their job well done. We booked the 2 bedroom apartment and the rooms were spacious and clean, fully equipped to make you feel like you stay at home. My children love it so much. Pool was small but clean with great staff available all the time. Wi-Fi connection good but not great at all, kept disconnecting. LOVE IT! TQSM

Located in Downtown Dubai, the Ramada Suites were fantastic! Restaurants are expensive in Dubai, so it was great having a fully fitted kitchen with a washing machine & dishwasher. They also provided us with tea & coffee daily as well as shampoos etc. In addition, they provided us with toothbrushes, sewing kit & a razor (great for the forgetful traveler!) The view from our room was phenomenal! It overlooked the musical fountains, and was right opposite the Burj Khalifa. The hotel offers a free shuffle to the Dubai Mall, but not frequently enough. However, it is a pleasant 10 minute walk, if you don't mind the scorching sun! They did say you had to catch a taxi if you wanted to get to the Emirates Mall (about 30 Dirhams) but you can catch a train from the Dubai Mall for 6.50pp. I rate this hotel 4 out of 5 stars, and the only reason I would have given 4 and not 5, is because the shuttles do not run frequently enough (there is only 1 shuttle to Jumeirah Beach @ 1pm - who would want to go to the beach in the midday heat is beyond me!) but you need to find your own way back home. It would have been nice to have a shuttle to the Burj Al Arab & Atlantis (even for a nominal fee). Otherwise a great hotel, and probably the nicest thing about our trip. (PS : The dining got 3 - working on an average because we actually didn't eat at the hotel restaurant)

I highly recommend the Marco Polo Hotel in Dubai. In the Deira district, it offers beautiful rooms, great restaurants and attentive staff. Nice hotels in Dubai are usually expensive, not so with the Marco Polo. It's not close to the big attractions but the Metro system is a short can ride away. The neighborhood is colorful with many affordable middle eastern restaurants. Highly recommended.

I totally relied on info from the Internet on Dubai hotel apartments , without knowing where would be a good place to stay. It was a good thing I found this place, as it not only offered good reviews, but also a promotional rate on Agoda. Don't be fooled by the facade of this hotel as it may look crappy on the outside, but it's different on the inside. I booked a 2 bedroom apartment and I was very pleased with the way the apartment turned out. It was HUGE! I think you could easily fit a family of 5 or 6 people in there. In 1 room, there was a queen sized bed, and on the other room, were 2 single beds. There's also a fully equipped kitchen, with washing machine and ironing board. The living hall is pretty big, with a nice comfortable leather sofa. There are a total of 2 bathrooms as well, plus a single toilet located outside the living hall. More importantly, the beds were comfortable and CLEAN, and the bathrooms were very clean as well, with a standing shower in one of the rooms, and a bathtub in the master bedroom. There are 2 LCD TVs, one in the living hall, and the other in the master bedroom. I'd stay in this place again if I visit Dubai again. Once the Dubai Metro is completed, the nearest station to this hotel would be the Abu Bakar Al Siddique station. Taxis are also easy to get as it faces the main road.

If you want to stay for a night and have a good privacy, book this hotel. The location is just behind KFC near Baniyas Metro Station. There are a number of landmarks including Day to Day, 1-10, Souq and local restaurants nearby. The hotel can be better in terms of cleanliness. I saw some face powder on the coffee table just beside the bed. Hence, the cleaner tried to clean it after I reported it. For facilities, you can see some wear and tear. One of the lamps in my room is broken. One of the light switch is also not working. The internet connection is erratic. For staff, the cleaner named Angel is very helpful on providing information about the hotel and nearby establishments. This hotel can be better if the facilities and the cleanliness will be taken care of. PROS: very near from metro, free towels, 2 bottled water and toiletries, comfortable beds, side tables, security box, flat screen TV, huge mirrors and cheap buffet. CONS: erratic internet connection, not maintained well

Seeing that this was the cheapest place in Dubai I didn't expect too much and I am glad that I didn't. This is not like most hostels, it's an apartment shared with other people living there but I didn't mind. There is a kitchen, a washing machine, balcony and across the street, there is a supermarket and on the 17th floor there is a gym and a pool that you can use for free. Also, it's located 10 minutes away from the metro station and is close to most main attraction in Dubai. If you are looking for luxury, don't come here. If you don't mind and are just happy with a bed and want a place that is located to most main attractions and within your budget then this is the place to be!

The fact that the luggage was carried to the room was a bit exaggerated - as backpackers we are not used to the "extended service" of a 4-star hotel! Quiet location between the old and modern district (each about 4km away) and near the attraction "The Frame". In the immediate vicinity of this hotel, there are many good and cheap restaurants. The metro is about a kilometre away and there are also several buses in various directions nearby.

It's perfect hotel for men guests who wants to visit Dubai. Super price and location . It's located at just 2-3minute from the Al Riga metrostation and there is an cheap non-stop supermarket near the hotel and good cheap food restaurants fot dining. They cleaned our room every day and gave us an free internet as a bonus. It's not a good option only for group of girls ,because at night there are a lot of strange male people near the reception - there are indian and arabic clubs on 1st and 2nd floor.

Here, everything is wonderful. Spacious sitting room, large balcony, separate wardrobe area, fully equipped kitchen, cozy sofa set, comfortable bed, nice view, etc. The TV in room as well as the one in the sitting room were bit old. Wi-Fi was good. Service was good and all the staff including security people were amazing. You call for any assistance and it's right there. No waiting. Most of all, it's very clean and well maintained. Lot of plug points for charging. Washing machine, iron with ironing board are also in the apartment. Stay here and you will feel like home. And if you want to feel like home, this is the place. The one disadvantage I have noticed is you need to take a taxi to go to even the nearest metro. And Dubai is not cheap. Especially Taxis

It was great to stay here at Saffron Hotel in the short time I was in Dubai on my trip back to Manila after having attended a conference in Turkey. It had a nice location, just one block away from the main street that had various shops and restaurants. It was also nice that a tour company was based in its lobby and so it was easy to select and arrange its various varied tours. It had good working facilities. However, one downside was that it did not offer free wi-fi; you had to pay for wi-fi access.

The hotel is at a good location with a number of Veg / Non-Veg restaurants around. The rooms are spacious and clean. Front office guys are very hospitable with a smile and greeting. The WiFi was free for me and was speedy enough to do the business work. The hotel is at a Walk-able distance for Al Salahuddin Metro station. I can not comment on the food at restaurants as I did not go there. There are clubs on the premises and they should not matter to a person who is not interested in them, and Dubai has them all over. It is value for money for the deal I got through Agoda. I strongly recommend it to others and I would come back to this property if I get a similar or better deal in future.

Its one of the worst hotels in dubai , althought the price says so , but i said let me give it a try . As soon as i reached the area it took me one hour to find a parking ,then i tried paying for the room by visa card , but their machine wasnt working , after checking in and entering the room , first thing i saw was two cockroachs roaming around !! After all , i went down to the reception and checked out , without him asking why or what happened , he gave my back my ID & pay slip of the amount i paid earlier.

Hotel is clean and they have given us an upgrade room they are also very attentive to our request. I traveled with my wife on this trip. Previous reviews I read advised on getting an upper floor because of the noise from the night club. I didn't experience disturbance as it ad at the uppermost floor. We arrived earlier than the usual checkin time and had to pay an additional fee for early check-in. Our stay was good, the hotel provides free WiFi and the room I got was entitled to complimentary breakfast. The choice of food was limiting but averagely okay. There is a pool at the rooftop, more can be done to make the pool more attractive as it seems to be a work in progress. The staff were very courteous and willing to help. The major downside was the absence of a gym. While booking I was made to believe that the hotel has a gym. On arrival I inquired about the gym and was told the gym is no longer functional. In general I would rate my stay in delmon okay and won't mind lodging there when I visit dubai again.

Checking in was quiet fast based on my experience... Staffs at this hotel are really nice, most especially the guy at the reception named Luis. He's very accommodating and attentive. It's a good thing for every hotel to have such employee. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to visit Dubai either for business or vacation purposes. The price is really cheap compared to other 4* hotels and it's worth it. The room is clean, bed is soft, a/c's working good, and most of all, the bathroom is clean. The place is near the metro if you want to go to other parts of Dubai. There are restaurants nearby and within the hotel. Shopping areas are nearby as well, wouldn't cost you much to take a cab/taxi from the hotel to places like burjuman or karama where you can shop for a lot of stuffs. No complaints at all! I would definitely go back to this hotel!

I was really pleased with my choice of hotel in Dubai. It's a 5 minute walk to the Mall of Emirates where you can also connect to the metro for other parts of the city. You can hail taxis outside the hotel easily and its only 10 minutes to the beach. The staff were very friendly and I have no complaints about the staff or service. The rooms are huge! We had a living room, well equiped kitchen, bathroom and seperate toilet and a bedroom. All the modern facilities were there. My only slight criticism is that the area around the rooftop pool is quite small and it can be difficult to get a sunbed. I would also have appreciated free wifi, but I don't think thats common in many Dubai hotels. I would definitely go back there.

First of all, I'd like to tell that this hotel is one of the best because of its staff, they are very professional, polite, helpful, good listeners, immediate assistance, the fastest check-in/check-out ever (5 Minutes Maximum), friendly and smiley at all times, simply they are above and beyond, that's more than enough to make any hotel above ranking than most of Dubai hotels. A dedicated special thanks to Mr. Khalid in reception and his colleagues. Value for money where always you will get more than what you paid at all levels. The hotel location is accessible wherein the heart of Tecom and all the needed facilities are within walking distance. My room was very tidy, clean and spacious, and when I requested makeup for the room on the next day; the housekeeping reset everything into its standard, I felt just like I checked-in once again, many thanks for the outstanding effort. We booked a Deluxe Studio for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay there tremendously. We were given Room 108, which has a fantastic water view. The room has a small kitchenette which comes complete with a fridge, cutleries, pots and pans, a toaster, cooker hob and hood. There is a supermarket nearby, just across the road, where we got fruits and some basic food. We did not have our breakfast at the hotel and are therefore unable to comment on the same. We were informed by the staff that there is a pool in the hotel, which we did not have time to use. The nearest metro stop to the hotel is Jumeirah Lakes Towers and it is situated about 1km away, not as close as we had initially thought. Most taxis which we took from the city centre did not know where the hotel is located even when we gave them the exact address (there are about 1,500 hotels in Dubai, anyway!). So, if you intend to take a taxi back to the hotel, it will be helpful if you can give the driver directions to the hotel from the Jumeirah Lakes Towers metro station, which is familiar to most drivers. We took a very pleasant stroll on the pedestrian-only pavement from the hotel to The Walk at Dubai Marina. There were lots to see, people and amazing skyscrapers alike. Overall, we are very happy and satisfied with our stay at the hotel. The staffs were polite and friendly, the room was cleaned well on a daily basis, complimentary bottles of mineral water were provided for us daily and sufficient toiletries were replenished when they ran low. layai oaks apartment hotel is a so so worth your money deal... i've tried so many similar grade hotel in dubai but so far, this is the best deal man! hotel staffs are so friendly & helpful. they actually greet you everytime they see u. rooms are clean & neat, also really nice. it gives you the homely feel. but F&B in hotel are limited selections. they have nice pool & gym facilities.

It was 4 of us in family traveling to Dubai and the apartment was really spacious with a mini supermarket at the ground floor and walking distance to nearby mall. The house wasn't well equipped and we had to call to ask for slippers and towels but at least the breakfast was good. But you kinda have to take taxi everywhere since it's not nearby the train station.

when we first arrived we were just gob smacked at the beautiful view of the marina and also very happy that the doorman kindly directed us how to get to places as we've never been to dubai, we were also told the marina area was the newly developed area and is where most of the rich people live so this apartment has a classier look than most you find downtown. the room is really spacious, it had 3 television sets, each one in the bedrooms and the living room. it was a pleasant experience and would recommend it to anyone who wishes to stay in dubai. the only downside is that it is quite far from bur dubai and the airport but its close to ibn battuta mall and it is quite far to walk to the metro station.

we arrived at the amwaj rotana after checking out of the atlantis on monday morning. we were impressed at the surroundings we saw, as the taxi entered jumeirah beach residence. we felt as if we were at beverly hills!! the moment we arrived at amwaj, the staff helped us unload our baggages, and i made my way to the reception for check-in. amwaj had a few guest relations staff, who made sure that we were comfortable the moment we stepped in, offered us scented wet towels. checking in was a breeze,within 5 minutes i had the room card in my hands, and we made our way to our room. the room was fairly large, overlooking the beach. the view was fantastic! we were on the 11th floor, and we could see the hotel's pool and sheraton's pool from our balcony. love the sight! we didn't opt for breakfast as we wanted to check out the various cafes and restaurants within the hotel vicinity. december is definitely the best time to visit dubai, with its nice cool weather, and the posh cafes lining the street adjacent to the hotel, its a wonderful experience. amwaj is also close to dubai marina mall, about 5 minutes taxi ride. mall of emirates and dubai mall is also not far away, about 15 minutes and 20 minutes taxi ride. we stayed at the amwaj for 2 nites, loved every second of it!!

We used this hotel as we had a 12 hour 'layover' before our next flight to Thailand. The hotel is within the airport so no need for security checks etc. We were greeted by a really friendly hotel staff member who literally walked us to the hotel reception. Check in was literally done in seconds and were were again walked to our room. Great service, lovely room and a much better alternative than either trying to sleep in a crowded airport lounge; or an expensive Dubai hotel outside of the hotel and all the hassle of getting back and forth. Would definitely use again!!

I like the spirit of the hotel. It's a mix of Thai and Arabian culture and hospitality. The suite is much better than the regular room. Breakfast is not super, but good, with many choices. If you haven't been in oriental hotels, this is a unique experience, and worth the moments especially if you have a loved one to share it with you. The need to manage their switchboard better. You could call 2 or 3 times, before someone finally answers you. There are some nice choices of restaurants and shopping near by. The Metro station is not far, and it could add to the attraction. If your room is on the South Side, you'l be able to see 'Burj Dubai', the tallest building in the world. It's nearby and it's a walking distance from Dusit. This hotel was one of the most prominent hotels in Dubai, before big names took the lights away. It's still one of the best, but not as popular, though well respected.

The Walk in Dubai is meanwhile a very famous area where people meet at hundreds of coffee shops and restaurants directly in front of the seashore. The Hilton Dubai Jumeirah is in the heart of The Walk. Just if you step outside the hotel you will be immediately within the Walk. The hotel is perfectly located with a private beach access that saves you from the hassle of public beaches with too many tourists. The service at the pool and at the beach is excellent, being it a drink or just a cool towel to freshen up. A walk of just 10 minutes takes you to the metro station which is sometimes a quicker way to travel to Dubai Mall or Mall of the Emirates to do shopping.

Visited on business and stayed for 3 nights, which were truly memorable. This was both my second visit to Dubai and stay at the hotel. Great service from door staff - kitchen staff. Approx 400 metres from WORLD TRADE CENTRE Metro station so transport is easy and very efficient, beats London Underground by a Country mile! I'm from the UK so used to paying over the odds for medium satisfaction and experience, however I am still smiling from the lovely memories. I have experience in retail and customer services for over 10 years and hold good standards which were pleasantly met and exceeded during my stay. We booked 2 nights at the Waldorf in our 4 day stay in Dubai... and we didn't leave the Hotel for 36 hrs! We decided it was the best thing about Dubai. We booked a Suite with club lounge access. The room was incredible with a view to die for and the extras just kept coming all day. The beach and pools were private and very well set out, with again great a view. The club lounge was the best I have ever been in the world, the view, staff, comfort, spacious layout and thats before we get to the complimentary happy "hour" its 3 hours long with more substantial food than you would get at a 5* restaurant in town, all washed down with a fully stocked bar (All free flow). Spend the money for the suite and club access, it is worth it! :)

i used the pullman hotel-mall of the emirates during my transit through dubai for a night. i was very impressed with the hotel. truly 5-star deluxe property. agoda is full of dubai 5-stars which turn out to be 4-star properties. this hotel is wonderfully located. the main lobby on the ground level is not really very impressive as compared to the lobby & reception on level 5. the staff was polite, competent, efficient and willing to help with a smile. the room was wonderful with one of the best views of dubai. the bathroom was contemporary with modern fittings and excellent shower pressure/temperature. the room service was a bit tardy. such a hotel must have ice-vending machines on every floor. surprisingly most dubai 5-stars don't have this amenity. the hotel location is the ultimate-winner. it is connected very conveniently right into the heart of the mall of the emirates! the checkout was efficient and i enjoyed my stay. will definitely return.

I like this hotel so much and this is not my first time here, one of my favorite hotel in dubai. Convenient location, clean hotel, spacious enough rooms with comfortable bathrooms. Nice , greenery swimming pool area with big pool and comfortable chaise lounges. I like their spa and gym as well. Thanks to the hotel staff they are very friendly and always willing to help , especially to Mr. Ihab Mounir in front office , who an excellent professional and perfect took care of us so we felt like we are kings. My first impression is money, new build beaches, malls, lots of roads between malls, low-cost imported labour, and money.

I'm sure that there could be wonderful hidden treasures and jems off the beaten path, but for a short break, it's just malls, decent food choices, and low-cost workers everywhere. I enjoyed my weekend there, but still, it was a stop-over - people who make this a destination for an acutal vacation must be a different type of traveller.

There are a number of cultural sites like the heritage village where you can learn or understand a little bit about islam and the culture of the country. For asians like myself, i find it difficult to make do with the food choice and the huge portion of them. As for shopping at souqs, you can try to bargain. However most of them do hard-selling, so make sure you ask for the price range first before actually browsing through the stuffs. They are generally not good in customer service though.

The police in this country are still police and not puppets of crime bosses and the government. The government make laws, they stick to it and the police enforce them. This is a country that works. I love this place and will move here as soon as i can. I want to setup a business here. Very friendly to businesses.

There is a lot of promotional noise made about Dubai but after making multiple visit to the city I still really don't know why.

It has a fantastic airport and good taxi, the hotels are of a very good standard and typically Filipino and Indian staff are very good. One can find very good food, though typically quite expensive and the shopping in a few of the malls can be quite good but also quite expensive. However, the city is poorly planned and very spread out, its really quite time consuming to get from one place to the other and there is very little in the way of public parks or outdoor spaces. There is no apparent centre to the city, there is apparently no place the people really congregate and hence the city really seems to lack any soul.

Dubai is a city of multicultural business place. only business can work. people talk in terms of money and rate you accordingly.

Dubai city is built with different skill sets of people selectively chosen from all parts of the world keeping in mind only Business.

I found Dubai overrated, with insane traffic, high prices and dirty, hazy air that ruins all the scenery.

The high fee to go to the 124th floor observation deck of the Burj Khalifa is a waste of money. The haze means only the buildings within about two blocks are clearly visible. The Burj Arabia sail shaped hotel is barely visible through the haze and the Palm shaped islands are not visible at all. The same applies to the Modern Architecture tour to Abu Dhabi. A van with small windows meant one could mainly see street level and hazy views through the windshield. I don't recommend the area to any one.

Dubai is business city with amazing architecture and would be a great city to live weather is too hot

Simply marvelous, at least for a first time visitor. Never seen such an incredible city like this in my life!(I am 58 years old and I have traveled the world)!

Don't be silly enough to go in July it is too hot to do anything all we wanted to do was stay in the hotel.

We even left the water park early despite the fact we paid about $500 plus for our family to enter. 52 degrees celcious was just ridiculously hot couldn't enjoy anything

This marks the third FIVE Hotels and Resorts property in Dubai and follows the brand’s famously fun-filled ethos – with plenty to excite and delight every visitor. The Lana, Dorchester Collection, Dubai

Another of the city’s latest architectural marvels, The Lana stands airy and graceful over Marasi Bay Marina, with an unparalleled view of the Burj Khalifa . Highlights here include sky-high dining concepts, four of which have been created by chefs who have won multiple Michelin stars, and a rooftop pool and lounge from where to watch the busy urban precincts transform at sunset. The hotel has a selection of 225 elegant rooms and suites and will also be home to the first Dior Spa in the UAE, set to open in April 2024. Luxury international hotel chain Delano will be setting up its Dubai home on Bluewaters Island . The brand is being brought to the city by Ennismore, which is also behind the operations of Banyan Tree Dubai, situated on the same island. With 251 rooms, including 84 suites – some with private pools – and amenities like an ocean-front swimming pool, exceptional dining concepts and more, Delano Dubai defines opulence and promises five-star hospitality.
