Victoria Cruises has renewed its agreement with Orient Flexi-Pax Tours
Victoria Cruises has renewed its agreement with Orient Flexi-Pax Tours, a division of ISRAMWORLD , through which the American-managed cruise line remains the exclusive provider of five-star Yangtze River cruises on all of the leading tour operator’s applicable itineraries.
Celebrating their continued partnership, the two companies have confirmed that the popular 11-night Yangtze River Voyage – which also includes Beijing, Xi’an and Shanghai – will be extended throughout 2011, in addition to other itineraries currently being finalized.
The comprehensive program features a luxurious three-night cruise aboard a five-star Victoria Cruises vessel as well as eight nights in upscale hotel accommodations at Peninsula Hotels in Beijing and Shanghai as well as the Sofitel Xi’an on Renmin Square.
Also included are domestic flights and airport transfers within China, 26 meals, intriguing sightseeing with an experienced English-speaking guide, and the USTOA $1 Million Travelers Assistance Program.
“One cannot help but acknowledge this program’s value,” said Larry Greenman , manager of public relations and customer service for Victoria Cruises, noting that the benefits of traveling with an established company with a solid reputation such as Orient Flexi-Pax is equally as important as the tour’s value-oriented pricing. “It’s the best of both worlds – a top-notch vacation at an unbeatable price!”

We would love to hear from people who have used the Orient Flexi-Pax Tour Company about their experience. Also, if there are other companies that run 2-3 day one city tours that they would recommend.
It gives you flexibility and control over your own schedule. And no commission shopping stops, that eat away your precious time.
Travel Indochina is another company that specializes in customized private itineraries or small group journeys that visit all of the cities mentioned above. They use local guides and offer a choice of 3, 4 or 5 star hotels. I have not yet traveled with them in China, but I have been extremely impressed with their service in both Cambodia and Vietnam.

A tour operator eager to see Americans return to China is offering a 10-day package to Beijing, Shanghai and Xian at a price it says hasn't been seen since the Chinese began opening their doors to tourists.
"China is anxious to get people to go back and wants to demonstrate that the country has not changed," said Eli Milbaur, managing director of Orient Flexi-Pax, which is putting the tours together. The $1,399 cost of the package includes round-trip air fare from San Francisco ($200 extra from New York), eight nights in superior first-class hotels, three meals a day and daily sightseeing. It also includes air fares within China and a one-day rail trip to Suchou from Shanghai.
"These prices are up to 50 percent below the normal price for a similar tour," said Milbaur.
Tourism to China has fallen dramatically since the Beijing Government's violent crackdown on demonstrators in Tiananmen Square on June 4.
"Now they are eager to show that the people of China have not changed, that they are as hospitable to tourists as ever before," said Milbaur.
Departures will continue through February.
"September, October and November is the peak of the season for travel to China," he added. "Normally hotel space is completely sold out months in advance.

Improved air service into Sun Valley, Idaho, will be available to skiers in the coming season. The first regularly scheduled 143-seat Boeing 737 jet service to the resort, from Las Vegas, five days a week, and from Los Angeles, on Saturdays, begins on America West Airlines on Dec. 16.
Up to now, the only flights to Sun Valley - aside from charter flights - have been aboard 37-seat planes of Horizon Air, a commuter airline, from Salt Lake City or Boise, Idaho. America West's departures from Las Vegas will connect with incoming flights there from the East, Midwest and Denver as well as Los Angeles.
The flights from Las Vegas, via Boise, will leave Wednesday to Sunday at 12:25 p.m. and arrive at 3:55. Return flights will leave Sun Valley at 4:30 p.m. The Saturday, nonstop flights from Los Angeles will be at 1:20 p.m., arriving at 4:25, with the return leaving at 5 p.m. the same day. Round-trip fares will start at $188 from Las Vegas and $228 from Los Angeles, America West says. The airline reports it is beginning scheduled service as a result of the successful charter operation it ran with the same 737 from Los Angeles to Sun Valley last winter.
