At a distance of 3 km from Nampally Railway Station, Lumbini Park is located near the Tank Bund on the banks of Hussain Sagar Lake. The Lumbini Park has been named after the birthplace of Buddha and it lies just opposite a famous Buddha statue. The boats to reach Buddha statue start from Lumbini Park. The park was developed as part of the Buddha Purnima project of the state government in 1994. It is one of the most beautiful parks in the city of Hyderabad and one of the best places to visit in Hyderabad city . In 2007, it was one of the targets of the 25 August 2007 Hyderabad bombings that killed 44 people. The Lumbini Park has become an ideal place of relaxation and a place of amusement. Lumbini Park is a small park in Hyderabad city near Hussain Nagar. It is one of the most prominent tourist attractions in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The park had been developed for entertainment and relaxation in 1994.  The maintenance and preservation of the park is under the Buddha Purnima project of the Urban Development Authority of Hyderabad. The main reason for naming the park as Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha. Toddlers, kids and young people visit the park almost every day to enjoy the amusement rides. The garden inside the park is stunning with different varieties of plants and the rock decorations. The key attraction inside the park is a majestic clock at the entry gate. The musical fountain show is fabulous to watch as the waters dance with the rhythmic beats of the music. A 3D laser show occurs in the evening where you can witness the city being created with the vibrant display of lights.

Lumbini Park is a small public, urban park of 7.5 blocks of land adjacent to Hussain Sagar in Hyderabad, India. It was constructed in 1994 at a cost of 23.5 million. In 2000, the Buddha Purnima Project Authority (BPPA) was set up to maintain specially designated development areas in Hyderabad.

The park is maintained by Buddha Purnima Project Authority under the directions of Government of Telangana works It was one of the targets of the Hyderabad bombings of 25 August 2007 in which 44 people were killed.

Lumbini Park was established in 1994 on 3 hectare of land adjacent to Hussain Sagar Lake at a cost of Rs 2.35 crore. In 2006, the park was renamed after the former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, T. Anjaiah.

This park is one of the principal tourism destinations within the scope of the Buddha Purnima Project Authority (BPPA), which was founded in 2000 to develop and manage specially designated development areas in Hyderabad.
