At a distance of 3 km from Nampally Railway Station, Lumbini Park is located near the Tank Bund on the banks of Hussain Sagar Lake. The Lumbini Park has been named after the birthplace of Buddha and it lies just opposite a famous Buddha statue. The boats to reach Buddha statue start from Lumbini Park. The park was developed as part of the Buddha Purnima project of the state government in 1994. It is one of the most beautiful parks in the city of Hyderabad and one of the best places to visit in Hyderabad city . In 2007, it was one of the targets of the 25 August 2007 Hyderabad bombings that killed 44 people. The Lumbini Park has become an ideal place of relaxation and a place of amusement. Lumbini Park is a small park in Hyderabad city near Hussain Nagar. It is one of the most prominent tourist attractions in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The park had been developed for entertainment and relaxation in 1994.  The maintenance and preservation of the park is under the Buddha Purnima project of the Urban Development Authority of Hyderabad. A 3D laser show occurs in the evening where you can witness the city being created with the vibrant display of lights.

Lumbini Park is a small public, urban park of 7.5 blocks of land adjacent to Hussain Sagar in Hyderabad, India. It was constructed in 1994 at a cost of 23.5 million. In 2000, the Buddha Purnima Project Authority (BPPA) was set up to maintain specially designated development areas in Hyderabad.

The park is maintained by Buddha Purnima Project Authority under the directions of Government of Telangana works It was one of the targets of the Hyderabad bombings of 25 August 2007 in which 44 people were killed.

The entry fee for Lumbini Park is not much and is pretty affordable. It is Rs. 20 per person for adults and for children the fee is Rs. 10 per person. If you wish to do any activity inside the park, there are additional charges. For instance, for speed boating the cost is Rs. 350 per person, for mechanised boating the cost is Rs. 55 per adult and Rs. 35 per child, while for Bhagmati boating the cost for adults is Rs. 110 and for children it is Rs. 80. Rajahamsa boating is also offered here for which minimum of 5 people are required and it costs Rs. 100 per person. If you wish to attend the laser show, then the fee for it is Rs. 50 per person.

Opening Hours of Lumbini Park:

You would be pleased to know that the Lumbini Park is open for visitors right from 9 AM till 9 PM on all days of the week. So, you have a lot of time and can include it any time in your itinerary according to your desire. The timings of the musical fountain are from 6.30 PM till 8 PM. While the laser show is organised twice, once at 7.15 PM and the other show is at 8.30 PM.
