Tata Safari and Tata Harrier: Price, Variants, Powertrain and Latest Updates

The Tata Safari (ex-showroom Delhi: Rs 15.65 lakh to Rs 25.01 lakh) offers six variants: XE, XM, XMS, XT+, XZ, and XZ+. Special editions like the 'Dark' and 'Red Dark' are also available. You can configure it with either 6 or 7 seats. It features a 2-litre diesel engine (170PS/350Nm) and comes with a choice of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

On the other hand, the Tata Harrier (ex-showroom Delhi: Rs 15 lakh to Rs 24.07 lakh) comes in six variants: XE, XM, XMS, XT+, XZ, and XZ+. Exclusive special editions like the 'Dark' and 'Red Dark' are offered on the top trim. With seating for up to five occupants, it offers a spacious interior. Sharing the same 2-litre diesel engine (170PS/350Nm) with the Safari, the Harrier can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter.

In recent news, Tata Motors is planning a comprehensive facelift for its SUV range, including the Harrier, Safari, and Nexon . Test mules of the updated versions have been spotted. Additionally, Tata Motors will be increasing the prices of all its products later this month.

Tata Motors is currently providing substantial discounts on its car lineup for the month of July. Customers can avail benefits worth up to ₹ 50,000, depending on the specific model they choose to purchase. This discount scheme applies to popular Tata models such as the Tiago and Altroz hatchbacks, Tigor sedan, and the Harrier and Safari SUVs.

 However, it is important to note that Tata has excluded some of its best-selling models, namely the Nexon and Punch SUVs, from this discount offer. Let's take a closer look at the potential savings one can enjoy when buying a new Tata car.

Tata Motors is currently giving a discount of up to ₹ 45,000 on its smallest car in India, the Tiago hatchback . The Tiago is a safe hatchback available in three different versions: petrol, CNG, and electric. However, the discount is only applicable to the petrol and CNG versions. Unfortunately, the electric version, which was introduced last year, is not included in the discount offer. For the petrol version, Tata Motors is providing a cash discount of ₹ 20,000, an exchange bonus of ₹ 10,000, and a corporate discount of ₹ 5,000. Additionally, the CNG version receives an extra cash discount of ₹ 10,000.

Tata Motors is giving discounts on the Tigor sedan , specifically on the petrol and CNG versions. The biggest discount is offered on the Tigor CNG model, which amounts to ₹ 50,000. This includes benefits such as a cash discount of ₹ 35,000, an exchange bonus of ₹ 10,000, and a corporate discount of ₹ 5,000. The petrol version of the smaller sedan receives similar discounts to the petrol-only Tiago car.

Tata Altroz

Tata Motors is offering discounts of up to ₹ 28,000 on the Altroz premium hatchback in July. The discount amount varies depending on the variant chosen. The Altroz hatchback is available in India with petrol, diesel, and CNG options. However, the discount is only applicable to the petrol and diesel versions, not the CNG variant. The base petrol variants of the Altroz receive a total discount of ₹ 23,000, while the other variants, including the diesel version, are eligible for benefits worth ₹ 28,000.

Tata Harrier/Safari 

Tata Motors is providing comparable discounts on two of its top SUVs, the Harrier and Safari . Customers can enjoy benefits of up to ₹ 35,000 on both models. However, the recently launched Red Dark Edition by Tata Motors is not included in this offer.

Tata Motors launches its premium flagship SUV – the all-new Safari at a starting price of 14.69 lakhs for the 6/7 seater. Tata Motors, India’s leading automotive brand, today launched its premium flagship SUV – the all-new Safari. An arresting design, unparalleled versatility, plush and comfortable interiors, and powerful performance of the Safari perfectly cater to the modern, multifaceted lifestyle of the new age SUV customers and their desire for the perfect combination of prestige and sophistication along with expression and thrill. The new Safari is now available for purchase at your nearest Tata Motors dealership at a starting price of INR 14.69 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) for the 6/7 seater.

Tata Motors also unveiled the ‘Adventure’ persona of the Safari with an expressive and rugged look offering more options for customers to select the SUV that best matches their personality. The Adventure persona will be available in a Tropical Mist colour, inspired by the rich and diverse flora present across the vibrant landscapes of our country

The Safari is extremely versatile, delivering great comfort and assurance, be it intra city commute, expressway cruising or the un-explored paths in the hinterland. With a powerful 2.0 litre turbocharged Kyrotech engine and its 2741 wheelbase, the Safari will come with signature Oyster White Interiors paired with the Ashwood finish dashboard, a majestic panoramic sunroof – the widest and best-in-segment panoramic sunroof, along with 6 and 7-seater options, which will come with an 8.8-inch floating island infotainment system.

As with all Tata Motors products, the Safari consists of a variety of safety features such as all disc brakes, electronic parking brake and an advanced ESP with 14 functionalities. Coupled with the Boss Mode providing enhanced ride comfort, the Safari sure does give the executive customers a living room style ride experience. Furthermore, the vehicle will be available in additional colour options of Daytona Grey, Tropical Mist and Orcus White along with the signature Royal Blue.

Taking the style quotient a little higher, the newly introduced ‘Adventure’ persona will come with R18 black tinted charcoal grey machined alloys and an all piano black finish in its grille, roof rails inserts, outer door handles along with a Safari mascot placement on the bonnet. On the interiors, the ‘Adventure’ persona looks plush with signature earthy brown interiors, dark chrome interior accents on air vents, knob, switches, inner door handle and instrument cluster along with a piano black interior pack on steering wheel, grab handles, floor console frame and IP mid pad finisher. The all-new Safari will be available in nine variants, starting from XE and going up to the XZA+.

In its new avatar, the Safari takes forward the brand’s rich legacy by combining Tata Motors’ Impact 2.0 design language with the proven capability of OMEGARC, the architecture derived from the renowned D8 platform from Land Rover – the gold standard of SUVs worldwide. The OMEGARC, architecture has already proven its mettle with the success of the Harrier.

SUVs is the fastest growing passenger vehicle segment in the country and the new Safari will accelerate the momentum gained by the company’s consistently growing SUV sales which have resulted in a growth of 20% YTD when compared to the same period last year.

In a challenging year, Tata Motors has exhibited a stellar performance in the passenger vehicles market last year, by clocking in over 23,000 unit sales every month successively from October 2020. Furthermore, in Q3FY21, the Tata Motors PV business posted its highest sales in the last 33 quarters. The rising demand can be attributed to the BS6 range, which was launched last year, under the New Forever philosophy of the company. Demand was visible across all products of the New Forever range, including the premium hatchback Tata Altroz and the BS6 Harrier, which stole the show.

• Tata Motors has announced its monthly discount rates across its lineup. The offers, to be applicable for the entire month of July, do not include CNG or electric vehicles from Tata Motors.

Tata Motors has announced heavy discounts across its model range in India for the month of July. Applicable till the end of the month, the discounts go up to ₹ 70,000 for certain models and variants. The least amount of discount one can get is ₹ 7,500. The discount scheme on Tata Motors cars for July include the likes of Harrier , Safari and Nexon SUVs besides the Altroz and Tiago hatchbacks and Tigor sub-compact sedan. However, the discounts on Tata Motors cars do not include the Punch SUV or any electric cars and CNG vehicles.

Here is a look at the discount offers on Tata Motors cars for July.

Tata Harrier

Tata Motor's flagship SUV Harrier comes with the biggest discount this month. The carmaker is offering up to ₹ 70,000 on Harrier SUV in July. This includes exchange bonus worth ₹ 40,000 besides ₹ 5,000 as corporate discount. For those associated with the carmaker as employee or vendor will get an additional ₹ 25,000 discount.

The three-row Safari SUV from Tata Motors gets the second highest discount this month. The carmaker is offering ₹ 40,000 exchange bonus on Safari SUV. The Safari does not get any other additional discounts.

Tata Motors is offering discounts of up to ₹ 33,000 on the Tigor sub-compact sedan. The offer is valid on XZ variants of Tigor, or above. Tata Motors is also offering discounts of up to ₹ 23,000 on the lower variants of Tigor. The discounts include offers, exchange bonus, corporate discount as well as discount for employees and vendors.

Tiago hatchback also comes with a handsome discount of up to ₹ 28,000 for variants like XZ or above. For all other lower variants of Tiago, Tata Motors is offering discount of up to ₹ 18,000. The discounts include offers, exchange bonus, corporate discount as well as discount for employees and vendors.

Nexon SUV, which is currently India's highest selling model in the sub-compact segment, also gets discounts of up to ₹ 15,000. Tata Motors is offering discounts on both petrol and diesel variants. While the diesel variants get maximum discount, the petrol variants get offers of up to ₹ 8,000.

Tata Altroz

The premium hatchback from Tata Motors comes with a discount of up to ₹ 10,000. The discounts are offered on both petrol and diesel variants of the Altroz. The Altroz petrol variants get the least amount of discount of up to ₹ 7,500.

After announcing a price hike of 0.6% for all of their cars, Tata Motors is now offering discounts of up to Rs 50,000 this month on cars like Altroz and Safari.

Tata Motors: Discount Offers

On its smallest car the hatchback Tiago, Tata Motors has offered discounts of up to Rs 45,000. The car is available in petrol, CNG and electric variants. For the petrol version, Tata is offering Rs 20,000 cash discount, exchange bonus of Rs 10,000 and corporate discount of Rs 5,000. The CNG version offers an additional Rs 10,000 cash discount. There is no discount offer on the electric version.

Tata Tiago: Discount Offer

For the sedan Tata Tigor, the discount on offer is up to Rs 50,000. Tigor has discounts on two variants – petrol and CNG. On the petrol version, the discount is the same as the one for Tiago. But the CNG version gets a bigger discount with Rs 35,000 cash discount, Rs 5,000 corporate discount and Rs 10,000 exchange bonus.

Tata Tigor: Discount Offer

Tata offers the hatchback with three fuel options – petrol, diesel and CNG. But the offer is only on petrol and diesel variants. The base model of Altroz offers benefits of Rs 23,000. While the upper models and diesel variants get discounts of up to Rs 28,000.

Tata Altroz: Discount Offer

Tata Harrier and Tata Safari, the top SUVs of Tata Motors, are also on offer with discounts of Rs 35,000. But the company has excluded the Red Dark Edition of its cars from this offer.

Although most of its cars are included in discount offers in July, Tata still decided to exclude its top selling cars Nexon and Tata Punch from the scheme.

Tata Motors is expected to launch the electric edition of Punch later this year along with the racer edition of Altroz. The SUVs Harrier and Safari are also expected to get a facelift next year.

Tata Safari is a highly popular SUV having a long standing history in the Indian automobile industry. Originally introduced in 1998, the vehicle is currently into its Second Generation having spawned a number of facelifts. It is based on the OMEGARC (Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced Architecture) platform. 

Tata Safari: Exterior

Safari’s exterior provides a bold and muscular design. Up front it offers a sculpted hood, chrome-finished grille, sleek projector headlamps, LED DRLs and a skid plate. 

On the sides we get to see roof rails, strong shoulderline, flared wheel arches, black plastic cladding and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Safety: Safari offers ADAS Tech like autonomous emergency brake, front and rear collision warning, blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane change alert, traffic sign recognition among others. It also gets safety features such as six airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Program (ESC), Corner Stability Control (CSC), hill hold control and more.

The 2023 Tata Safari price in India starts from 16.19 lakh and extends to Rs 27.34 lakh (ex-showroom). There are 29 variants on offer.

Tata Motors is offering attractive benefits that include cash discounts and exchange or scrappage bonuses on most of its line-up this February. The benefits on offer are applicable for both fresh 2024 stocks as well as older 2023 models. Let’s take a closer look.

Tata Safari

Discounts of up to Rs 1.25 lakh

The Safari was recently updated with a facelift. However, the discounts on offer are not on the new model but on the pre-facelift, unsold stocks. The discount on offer is inclusive of a Rs 75,000 cash discount and up to Rs 50,000 exchange or scrappage bonus for the top-spec ADAS-equipped variants. Lower non-ADAS variants are available with total benefits of up to Rs 75,000.

The Safari boasts of solid underpinnings combined with great road presence and practicality of seven seats. It rivals the likes of the Hyundai Alcazar , MG Hector Plus and Mahindra XUV700 .

Tata Harrier

The Harrier , too, receives all the benefits on its older 2023 stock and not on the refreshed 2024 model year units. The benefits on offer have a similar break-up as Tata Safari for all ADAS and non-ADAS variants.

Like the Safari, the Harrier scores high on road-presence and interior space, and is built well with fantastic ride and handling balance. It rivals the likes of the 5-seater  Mahindra XUV700 ,  MG Hector  and  Jeep Compass . 

Discounts of up to Rs 75,000

The Tiago gets benefits of up to Rs 75,000 on its 2023 model year that includes Rs 60,000 cash discount and up to Rs 15,000 exchange or scrappage bonus. However, 2024 Tiagos get up to Rs 40,000 discount, which comprises Rs 30,000 cash discount and up to Rs 10,000 exchange or scrappage bonus. The CNG variants of the Tiago also receive benefits of up to Rs 75,000 for 2023 model year and up to Rs 25,000 for newer 2024 units.

The Tiago impresses with its well-specced cabin and attractive price, but is let down by the engine. It rivals the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios . 

The Tigor receives benefits on both 2023 and 2024 models of up to Rs 75,000 and Rs 40,000, respectively. The breakup on the offers is also same as the Tiago for all its petrol MT and AMT variants. However, CNG variants of the Tigor get up to Rs 75,000 discount on 2023 model year units and up to Rs 30,000 on 2024 units.

The Tigor is based on the Tiago, sharing its underpinnings and powertrain, and is a friendly city commuter that’s good value for money. It rivals the likes of the Honda Amaze , Maruti Suzuki Dzire and the Hyundai Aura . 

Discounts of up to Rs 60,000

The Nexon , like its elder siblings, received an update last year. However, just like the Harrier and Safari, benefits are only on the pre-facelift models. Petrol-MT variants of the Nexon get Rs 40,000 cash discount while AMT variants get Rs 20,000 cash discounts. Additionally, there’s Rs 20,000 exchange or scrappage bonus on both MT and AMT variants.

The Nexon features premium interiors, provides comfortable ride and handling, and is a great highway cruiser. It rivals the likes of the  Maruti Vitara Brezza , Kia Sonet and Hyundai Venue . 

Tata Altroz

Discounts of up to Rs 45,000

The Altroz is available with discounts of up to Rs 45,000 across its petrol, diesel, and CNG variants. 2023 models get up to Rs 35,000 cash discount while 2024 models get up to Rs 15,000 cash discount. Both 2023 and 2024 units also get up to Rs 10,000 exchange or scrappage bonus.

The Altroz stands out with its impressive ride and handling, stylish exterior design, and feel-good interiors, although the powertrains leave you wanting for more. It competes with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno , Hyundai i20 , and Toyota Glanza in the market.

The latest discounts and offers on Tata cars in India for the month of July 2022 were recently announced to attract buyers of the cars like the Tiago, Altroz, Punch, and more. Tata is giving stiff competition to its rivals across the segment and is currently offering practical, safe, and feature-rich products to buyers. Here is everything that you should know about the latest Tata car discount offers in India.

The XZ and the XZ+ variants of the Tata Tiago are currently being offered with a maximum cash discount of Rs 10,000 while all the variants come with a maximum exchange bonus worth Rs 10,000, Additionally, the brand is also offering a corporate discount up to Rs 5,000. No discounts are being offered on the Tiago CNG variants.

The Tata Tigor on the other hand also gets a similar cash discount worth Rs 10,000 on the XZ and the XZ+ trims. Similarly, the car gets a maximum exchange bonus and a corporate discount worth up to Rs 15,000.

The diesel versions of the Tata Nexon are offered with a maximum exchange bonus of Rs 15,000 while all the versions get a standard corporate discount of up to Rs 5,000. No cash discount is on offer for the buyers of the Tata Nexon.

The Tata Harrier and the Tata Safari are being offered only with a maximum exchange bonus worth Rs 40,000 on all the variants. In addition to this, you will also get a maximum corporate discount of up to Rs 5,000.

Tata Motors is offering several discounts and benefits on the Harrier, Safari, Tiago, Tigor, and Nexon for July 2022. The discounts and benefits are in the form of exchange bonuses and corporate discounts that add up to Rs 60,000 on select models.

Tata Harrier

The Tata Harrier gets benefits up to Rs 60,000 and corporate buyers can avail of an additional Rs 20,000 discount, valid for all variants of the Harrier. Being offered with a single diesel engine, the Harrier gets a 2.0-litre 167 bhp diesel motor paired to either a 6-speed manual or an automatic gearbox.

Tata Safari

The Tata Safari, similar to the Harrier, is offered with a sole 2.0-litre diesel engine that makes 167 bhp mated to a manual or an automatic gearbox in India. The Safari is seeing fresh competition in India with the newly-launched Mahindra Scorpio-N that gets a petrol and diesel engine, and to make the vehicle more appealing, Tata is offering an exchange bonus of Rs 40,000 but gets no corporate benefits like the Harrier.

The Tata Nexon is the company’s best-selling vehicle, India’s best-selling SUV in June 2022 , and the f ourth best-selling passenger vehicle last month. To keep the momentum going, Tata is offering Rs 6,000 discount on the petrol variants and Rs 10,000 off on the diesel trims of the Nexon. The carmaker is not offering discounts on the EV versions, in fact, T ata has hiked prices for the EV variants . The waiting period for the Nexon remains high, as does the demand.

The Tata Tiago sales continue to be steady for the carmaker despite competition from the Wagon R, i10 Grand, and the Celerio. However, to woo more customers, Tata is offering a discount of Rs 31,500 across all petrol variants of the Tiago hatchback. Tata Motors is not offering any discounts or benefits with the CNG versions of the Tiago.

The Tata Tigor can be had with a petrol engine, CNG outfit, or as an EV. However, Tata is offering discounts only on the petrol versions. The Tata Tigor XE and XM variants get a discount of Rs 21,500 while the XZ and above variants get a discount of Rs 31,500. The Tigor competes with the Honda Amaze , Hyundai Aura and the Maruti Suzuki Dzire in India, and manages to fend them off steadily.

Apart from the models mentioned above, Tata is not offering discounts on other models such as the Tata Altroz or the Punch, which have been among the top 5 selling vehicles for Tata Motors .

For the XT, XTO and XT Rhythm variants of the Tiago petrol, the consumer scheme is Rs 20,000, while the exchange discount is Rs 10,000, resulting in a total discount of Rs 30,000. For all the other variants (except XT, XTO, XT Rhythm and AMT), the consumer scheme is Rs 15,000 and the exchange discount is Rs 10,000, leading to a total discount of Rs 25,000.

All the variants of the Tigor petrol have a total discount of Rs 30,000. This includes a consumer scheme and an exchange discount of Rs 15,000 each.

• Pre-facelifted Tata Harrier and Safari attract discounts of up to Rs. 1.40 lakh

• Facelifted versions were launched on 17 October

Tata Motors launched the updated Harrier alongside the Safari facelift in India on 17 October, 2023. Both SUVs benefit from revised exteriors and interiors with new variant names. Meanwhile, the pre-facelifted versions are still on sale with heavy discounts in November.

Customers opting for the pre-facelifted Tata Safari and Harrier can avail benefits of up to Rs. 1.40 lakh. This includes cash discounts of up to Rs. 75,000, exchange bonuses of up to Rs. 50,000, and corporate offers of up to Rs. 15,000. Moreover, dealers across the country will try to clear the stock of the older version and they might offer huge dealer-end benefits as well. We recommend contacting the nearest dealership to get more information on the same.

While the facelift versions get tonnes of new features and design enhancement, mechanically, the models have remained unchanged. They continue to be powered by the same 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine mated to a six-speed manual and a torque converter unit. This BS6 2.0-compliant engine is tuned to produce 168bhp and 350Nm of peak torque.

Hi, Looking to buy a safari XT+ in Nov'22 , what is the maximum discount , can be availed from the dealer ?, if someone can suggest ? I had booked during Oct'22 end and now the price has increased by Rs 13500 , with this they tata is offering discount of Rs 20000. What benefit we can get from the dealer ? Is it better to get the insurance from the dealer or we can take from Policybazaar ? dealer is looking for a premium on that as well , pls advise .. Thanks in advance

First of all,it is very important for us to unite for breaking the arrogance of these car manufacturers who are simply filling their pockets in the name of Indian brand. Just stop booking any car for 1 month only & see yourself then that they are forced to reduce the price.If not by a justified margin,then wait again for the next month.Maximum it will take 3 months only for them to decrease the price heavily only if we people(maybe in crores) don't book for atleast 2 months.So,I request all to stop booking and don't hurry to book & we have to collectively do that .Then just wait and watch the result.

Dear Sir, I'm looking to buy altroz XT, however I have booked i10 NIOS but from safety prospect I'm thinking Tata Altroz. Problem is that negotiable is possible in Hyundai and I'm getting around 40K discount including dealer discount but Tata folks don't consider such things and not treat good if if talk about discount. Can someone tell me what is the discount they got on their purchase or final on-road price which they got to help me? Currently its around 8.5 L for aAtroz XT. I can streach budget around 8L but 8.5 it too much for hatch back.

I was negotiating for Altroz XE Rhythm (ESP: 6L Rs) in Chennai during mid Sep 2021. I too was getting a very small discount only: 3k cash discount from dealership (this will depend on your dealer) + free mudflap + free floor mat + free car cover + 2k for my TCS friend's referral + 11.5k offer on 1yr Reliance insurance (which was ~33k) There maybe more offers for TCS or TATA Advanced Systems employees etc.

Sir I am Working in CTS and I wanted to buy TATA Altroz XE Rythm could anyone please help me what are the discount that will be provided for TCS employees. I have reached to TATA motors customer care several times. Can anyone help me in guiding on this , do I need to get in contact with my HR or what is the process to get atleast of 5% discount.

When I enquired about corporate offers in mid Sep 2021, I heard from the dealership that TCS employees are entitled for a cash discount of 7.5k Rs. This is from a dealership in Chennai. This may vary in your region maybe. Maybe this could be negotiated. I'm not sure. But it is worth trying the bargaining.
