Overall, a good time!

Overall, tour was very good! Incredible scenery, interesting commentary, and comfortable bus- even got to feed some cows! We did enjoy it very much. Recommend to Hairy Coo tour guides to stay away from jokes out about married couples (children on board- particularly jokes about men undressing to "shut up"their wives). This may be typical Scottish humor but always good to consider your audience. There are so many better and more interesting things to share about Scottish history and the areas through which we are traveling. Our tour guide was a friendly guy who clearly knew a great deal about Scottish history, wished he had stuck to that. Overall, good time! We would recommend it.

Our bus driver Brian Smith was…

Our bus driver Brian Smith was fantastic. He was a great story teller and shared much of the history of each location we visited. We were literally on a party bus singing all together and having a super time. Scotland is a beautiful place and we will definitely be back!

The trip was amazing

The trip was amazing. At the end I wish only we had more time in the stops to walk around because the views are just breathtaking. It doesn’t feel like 12 hrs at all, time flies by! Our bus driver Lucky was so considerate and funny, even at the end when everyone was tired he kept trying to lift the mood up with spooky stories of Edinburgh. The day was just perfect how it was, I’d definitely recommend going with the Hairy COO and if you can book with Lucky!

Wonderful trip in the High Lands.

We did this excursion on March 27, 2024. The chosen itinerary was stunning, surreal landscapes, on the same day we saw the 4 seasons of the year, it was sun, rain, snow all along the route to the High Lands. Our guide Peter was fantastic, very interactive, he told the story of each point we passed through. His play list was made up of traditional music. Above all, friendliness and professionalism were what stood out to us the most.

A perfectly curated whistle-stop tour of the best sights in Scotland! Prepare for a very full day, but I loved this tour so much! Our tour guide/bus driver Alistair was an amazing storyteller and a great help, and I am so glad I took this opportunity to explore rural Scotland! Learned lots and took a lot of great pics - plus memories that will last a lifetime! My only regret is that we didn't get more time at Loch Ness, but given that the tour is already 12 or so hours long, I can understand why time is limited!

Fantastic tour guide in beautiful setting

I’ve never done a coach tour before and I wasn’t sure if I’d enjoy it but I didn’t need to worry because it was awesome! The Highlands are stunning of course but this was largely due to our very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide Alistair. He really knew so much about the local history and it was all really interesting and accessible! I don’t know how he managed to chat so effortlessly for the majority of the trip but he did. The best bit was we mentioned my daughter was desperate to see a ‘hairy coo’ and that was why we were here, so he stopped off somewhere that you could actually feed one! It literally made our whole trip! Thank you so much!

Great landscapes

Great day tour, you can see beautiful landscapes of the highlands and enjoy a nice boat trip in the Loch Ness (not included, but highly recommended). Also, an amazing tour guide, Peter.

Brilliant -- Isle of Skye, Inverness & Highlands Tour

We took the 3-Day Isle of Skye, Inverness & Highlands Tour in April, with Ewan as our driver, guide and historian. Ewan was fantastic, offering entertaining stories to provide background for the sites on the tour, personal recommendations for extended stops, and a jovial sense of humor to make time on the coach pleasant and fun -- he even took requests for music during the ride. I'm happy to recommend The Hairy Coo to anyone looking for an introduction to the Highlands -- hope you get Ewan as a guide!

Loved every bit on my tour

Loved every bit on my tour to the Highlands with Holly. She’s a great guide, you can tell she loves her country ! Loved all the anecdotes along the way + the scenery was wonderful. The day tour is well constructed and organized with a variety of landscapes, villages, monuments… would totally recommend, it’s worth your money.

Alister was fantastic

Alister was fantastic. I had such a wonderful day traveling to loch lomond and Stirling Castle. Alister was very engaging, I loved the discussions he had with us about the history of the Scottish crown and the stories surrounding the sorted figures from Scottish history. When I return to Scotland I intend to join one of your other day tours as I can't imagine doing it with anyone else! Steve and John are just not as good tour guides as Alistair! They need to practice! (kidding of course, Alister asked us to take a poke at them!)

This was the highlight of our holiday

This was the highlight of our holiday. Our guide Maiko has been incredible and gave us such a great taste of the highlands & history of Scotland. Every song Maiko played in the bus had a wonderful meaning and created some unforgettable memories. We fell in love with Scotland not only for its landscapes and culture but also because of our lovely guide. Thank you Maiko!!!

Best tour I’ve ever been on!

Can honestly say this was the best tour I’ve ever been on! A full day in a comfortable and clean coach bus. We saw so many sights. If everyone on your bus gets back at the scheduled times it allows for a few more extra stops along the way. The views are beautiful! On the way out I suggest sitting on the left hand side of the bus, but we sat on the right and the views were just as stunning. Our guide Phil was the best, shared lots of interesting stories and folklore along the way, as well as playing some Scottish music and explaining the meaning of the songs. We had enough time at each stop to do exactly what we wanted to do. Originally we were not planning to do the additional Loch Ness tour but after Phil’s recommendation to do so we are glad we did! Phil did a great job during the boarding information speech so we knew exactly what to expect as far as bathroom and food breaks. The towns you’ll visit are beautiful and the residents and shop and restaurant owners are so nice! On the way back to the drop off location Phil introduced a couple of fun bus games, pass the parcel and busaoke, a great way to interact with the other guests on the bus! Dress for the weather and wear waterproof shoes in case it rains, and you’ll be comfortable and happy all day!! It was a Fantastic day, highly recommend!

We enjoyed our trip to the Highlands, our guide David who also drove the bus was very friendly and welcoming, he has super knowledge about various places that we visited, and a little bit of history which was interesting. Plenty of stops for taking photos and admiring the stunning landscapes, we were fortunate to see the peak of Ben Nevis which thrilled us. A few stops for toilet breaks. It was a long day 12 hours, well worth the money. David our guide is a fantastic guide and a credit to the company. Our trip was on Wednesday 27/03/24.

Can’t recommend this enough!

I did the Edinburgh: Loch Ness, Glencoe & Scottish Highlands Tour and it was fantastic! Our driver/guide, Rod was amazing! What he didn’t know about the parts of Scotland we visited was no one’s business! He made surely we had plenty of opportunities to take in the scenery and time to experience the local attractions. This trip was worth every penny and I am inspired to book another!

Highly recommended

Highly recommended! I decided to book this tour as a 30th birthday present for my partner. To say we both thoroughly enjoyed it is an understatement! Scotland is such a beautiful place filled with picturesque landscapes and fascinating history, and this tour enabled us to explore the best of it and fall in love with the country. Our tour guide, Stephen, was super knowledgeable, funny, and very well-organized (not to mention his Spotify playlist - Red Hot Chili Pipers are on repeat for me 😄)

Once again my experience with The Hairy Coo tours was outstanding. I am just back from the 3 day trip to Skye and it was absolutely brilliant. Our tour guide Brian was fantastic, lots of stories and tunes. Brian went above and beyond to make sure we all had a great time. I would definitely recommend The Hairy Coo to anyone who is wanting to do a coach tour. You guys are fantastic 😀

It was an amazing trip

It was an amazing trip. Bruce was very knowledgeable, funny and with a lot of energy. Highly enjoyable! We liked the mix of history, geografi and every day life and the music was superb. The scenery was fantastic. Both the driver Graeme and Bruce made us feel safe and we plan to return to the Highlands much due to this great experience. Thank you!

Fun Times on Breathtaking Tour

Without a doubt the driver, Brian, made the tour one of the most enjoyable days my wife and I have had throughout our European travels. We’re into our fifth month of traveling and have taken countless tours, but none have compared to this. Of course, the Scottish highland scenery is breathtaking, but Brian’s Scottish song list, ability to rouse the tour group into sing-alongs, his antics and his story telling truly made the 12 hour trip a wonderful adventure. It’s through no fault of the driver or Harry Coo Tours that we give just four stars. It’s the nature of these bus tours that there is only a limited number of window seats that provide the best views. We weren’t the lucky ones this time around. Nonetheless, it was my birthday and I want to thank Harry Coo Tours, and especially Brian, for making it one of the most memorable I’ve every had (and I’ve had many).

We did the Loch Ness tour. Rose was an amazing guide. It was a a marathon day traveling all the way from Edinburgh to Loch Ness and back… but Rose kept us entertained and engaged during the long drives. We made several stops for food and rest breaks—great places. We even stopped at and learned about Glen Coe. Scotland couldn’t be more amazing! And this tour was the same!

Our guide, Ryan, was very enthusiastic and accommodating to guests’ comforts on the coach and played great music. He continued speaking to us about various aspects of Scotland’s history with quick facts about villages as we passed through. Be prepared for a long day as the coach left at 8 AM and returned just after 8:30 PM, however, there were frequent stops (every 1.5 - 2 hours) for washroom and snack breaks. Seatbelts on the coach were a bit tighter than we would have liked and maybe a smaller coach could have made the journey more enjoyable. Experiences include; feeding Hairy Coo’s, multiple photo and look outs, and lunch at Loch Ness. Overall, the trip is well worth the money and the final destination of a Loch Ness cruise. Future tip, paying for the boat cruise is cash only so make sure to have some on hand prior to leaving on the coach. Thank you for the experience Ryan!

It was a long but enjoyable day. We were blessed with a really entertaining driver, Craig. We had so much fun and got to meet a lot of the other passengers on the bus. The ride... That was not very comfortable. The seats are so close together. My old knees really suffered.

The tour was very informative and hit so many ideal spots for a day tour!

Our family did a Highlands and LochNess tour with Fraser in early June. Fraser was EXCELLENT! He helped make our family vacation a pleasant and memorable one. He had the right balance of sharing relevant historical notes, Scottish culture, Scottish music (contemporary and traditional---just wish the bus audio was working well), levity, and fun. Our two later tours in England and France paled in comparison because the tour guides fell short in comparison to Fraser.

The three day tour to the Scottish Highlands was the highlight of our trip. Rose, our tour guide, was amazing! Her knowledge and her storytelling abilities made for an engaging and informative three day tour. The highlights of the tour for us included the beauty of the Isle of Skye, and the emotional impact of the Culloden Battlefield. Throw in feeding carrots to a hairy coo and you have a perfect vacation. Thank you Rose.

We did the 1 day Loch Ness, Scottish Highlands, Glencoe and Pitlochry trip- it was great! A lot of time spent on the bus and the stops were really short, but it's a great way to see everything if you only have 1 day. Fraser was our guide and he was AMAZING, he was so fun and informative. Definitely recommend.

I highly recommend this tour. The Highlands is an amazing and breathtaking views of lands, mountains and lochs. Twelve hours is just a glimpse of this beautiful wonder. I would love to come back and do their 3 day tour sometime in the future. Our guide, Anthony was very informative of its land's history and was entertaining. This is one of the best tours I had.

Had a great time! Fred was brilliant! We got delayed about an hr as there was an accident on the road. We had to go another way! But he made it work! Lovely tour! Good tour to go on. Went to the highlands , glencoe, lochness.

súper cool tour! had william as a tour guide, he was super nice and was great at delivering history about the place in a fun and engaging manner! saw the kelpies, loch lomond, and stirling and learned a ton about each place and even more places in the highlands! 10/10 do recommend :)

Fantastic trip of the Highlands and Skye! Our guide Ewan regaled us with interesting facts and stories about Scottish geography, history and folklore. The scenery is just breath-taking and changes so much during the 3 days from the lowlands, through the atmospheric Glencoe to the stunning Cuillin and Cairngorm mountain ranges. Ewan made sure we had plenty pit stops, photo opportunities and information about the sights around us. Scotland is just stunning! I definitely recommend Hairy Coo - it's clear to see that Ewan absolutely loves his job :-)

David is him

The views were stunning, the stops well spaced out, but the cherry on top of the dessert was our fantastic driver David. He kept everyone entertained the entire time with interesting facts and stories as well as humorous jokes. Which without would have left people wanting to go home, so thank you David!

The trip was a lot of fun and our tour guide Brian made the long hours on the bus very entertaining. The scenery was beautiful and I learned so much about Scotland’s history from Brian’s story’s and commentary. The atmosphere was awesome and definitely worth the money spent.

My first time in Scotland

My first time ever in Scotland and David made it very amazing, I am traveling the UK solo from America so I decided to go on do this tour and it was beautiful! David really loves Glasgow and his whiskey 😂 my favorite part was Loch Ness , Harry coos , and touching the water in one of the lochs we stopped at.

From Edinburgh: Loch Ness, Glencoe, Highlands & Ben Nevis

We did the tour with Bruce and David and it was the best! Very entertaining and insightful trip, as we learned a lot about history and random facts about Scotland. There was lovely music playing, all by Scottish musicians. The views from the bus were amazing and the stops we made were perfect for photos. The Highlands are beautiful and a must see when in Scotland.

One day ,the best day

David a well communicative and funny driver who makes smiles on us . He took us to the most favourable locations fort William , glencoe, Loch Ness , fort agustus and my favourite Ben Nevis . One the way i get a chance to see glenfinan through the windows . We have plenty of time to see and for fresh up . Worth it 👍🏼👍🏼

Amazing trip with an amazing tour guide(Brian)!

We got to take a 1 day tour to the Highlands, Loch Ness and Cairngorms with Brian Smith as our guide and it was an amazing day that made us wish we had had more time in Scotland to go on a longer tour! The spots we stopped at were perfectly picked, we saw nature and some quaint Highland towns, hot to take a cruise on Loch Ness and all the while Brian was entertaining the entire bus! We got to listen to great Scottish Music in between his stories of historic events and information about the country, the people and more. There wasn't a single boring minute on this tour, we were treated to epic tales and great jokes, saw beautiful landscape and had a bit of a party on the way back. I would recommend this tour to literally anyone and when I'll come back to Scotland I'll make sure to take another one (hopefully a longer one!) with the Hairy Coo! Thank you for this amazing experience!

A hairy incoo-dible experience!

We did the day trip to Glencoe + Inverness and the entire trip was incredible from start to finish! Ryan and Stephen were the most friendly and funny tour guides and kept us entertained throughout. We even got to see some hairy coos which was the cutest experience! Highly recommend this tour to anyone and everyone especially with Ryan and Stephen! :)

This trip was the highlight of our Scotland Trip.

This trip was the highlight of our entire trip to Scotland. The 3 days were very well thought out with lots of beautiful sights, interesting sights and bathroom stops. We especially enjoyed hearing the back stories of the different sights and the other stories about Scottish history. Our guide Fraser is a very good storyteller and when he wasn't telling stories or teaching us the Scottish ways, he would play us Scottish music which gave an extra insight to the culture. He made the trip absolutely amazing and it was very clear that he really loves his job. He had answer for any question we might have had and was overall a very fun and welcoming person. 10/10 would recommend doing this trip on your visit to Scotland.

Best tour I've done

Best tour I've ever done. Our guide Brian was insightful and a great entertainer. He told the best stories, connected with us, choose a marvelous playlist of Scottish icons to go along with the trip. 12 hours flew by love it every minute. I would happily walk 500 miles and 500 more just to be the one who walks 1000 miles to do this again. Thank you Brian and The Hair Coo

Hairy Coos’s!!!

William did an amazing job! He was so knowledgable and found a way to time his stories with the sights he was referencing. I highly recommend their day trip from Edinburgh to Loch Ness. William made plenty of stops and made great recommendations for every stop and even had suggestions for while you’re in Edinburgh. We had a great time! William also made sure we stopped to feed the Hairy Coo’s. 10/10 best part of the trip.

Second trip with The Hairy Coo

This was our second trip to Scotland and our second tour with The Hairy Coo. We did the 3 day tour to Inverness, Isle of Skye and the Highlands. We learned so much about the history of Scotland and experienced some of the most beautiful scenery. We were able to renew our vows which made the tour even more special. We were lucky enough to have John as our tour guide both visits. He is so knowledgeable, funny and makes sure everyone has a great time. It was a great day. First of all, thanks to our guide Fraser! He was very committed to showing us the beauty of Scotland, its rich history and culture. Fraser's stories were sometimes moving and sometimes humorous. Our guide perfectly combined emotions and knowledge. In addition, he had a playlist of Scottish music prepared and played songs appropriate to the places we passed or visited. The music created the atmosphere of our journey through the Highlands. Music and of course stories. Simply the perfect guide! And I will also add that he kindly answered all questions, advised on various issues, and was really cordial and helpful. My teenage son, who is difficult to convince to go on sightseeing trips, is delighted and still remembers various situations from that day. We are enchanted by Scotland and I hope we will come back.
