Theory Announce 2022 U.S. ‘Say Nothing’ Tour

Theory  have just announced their 2022 U.S.  Say Nothing  tour, where they'll be joined by special guests Black Stone Cherry and Shaman's Harvest for select dates.

The tour kicks off Feb. 11 in Indianapolis, Ind. with Black Stone Cherry, who will also support them on their Feb. 12 and Feb. 14 shows. For the remainder of the run, Shaman's Harvest will open for them. The final concert is set for March 13 in Charleston, S.C.

See the full list of dates below. The pre-sale for tickets will begin tomorrow (Dec. 15) at 10AM local time, and the general sale will take place Friday, Dec. 17 at 10AM local time. Get tickets and more information here .

Theory were out on tour earlier this year in support of their 2020 album  Say Nothing,  but were forced to cut out part of the trek out of concern for COVID-19. As a result, a few shows that were scheduled for the end of August as well as all of their September dates were canceled. The tour picked back up in October, and just concluded over the weekend.

So if you had tickets to one of the canceled concerts, now's your chance to redeem yourself.

Theory of a Deadman, Skillet Announce 2023 Tour

Saint Asonia will serve as special guests for the Rock Resurrection Tour

Theory of a Deadman and Skillet are hitting the road together next year on the Rock Resurrection Tour. The trek kicks off on February 17, 2023 at Hard Rock Live in Gary, Indiana and wraps up on March 26, 2023 at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, California. The trek will see the bands perform in The Fillmore in Detroit, Michigan, Main Street Armory in Rochester, New York, Mission Ballroom in Denver, Colorado, and Santander Arena in Reading, PA. The pair will be joined by special guests Saint Asonia.

Tickets for the Rock Resurrection Tour go on sale Friday at 10am local time via  www.theoryofficial.com  and  www.skillet.com .

“We’re super stoked to be touring with our good friends in Skillet and Saint Asonia this winter,” Theory of a Deadman’s Tyler Connolly states. “We’re also really looking forward to playing new material for our fans!”

“We are so excited to be touring with our friends from Theory again!,” Skillet’s John Cooper added. “It’s been several years since our last tour together, and this time we are also joined by our friends in Saint Asonia. Theory of a Deadman recently released a brand new single “Dinosaur.” The track was produced by Martin Terefe (Jason Mraz, YUNGBLUD) and marks the chart-topping quartet’s first taste of new music since their 2020 LP  Say Nothing . The album landed at #2 on the Billboard Alternative Albums Chart and #3 on the Rock Albums Chart. It also featured the chart-topping and powerful single “History of Violence.”

“‘Dinosaur’ takes us back to our roots with this riff-driven rocker,” said frontman Tyler Connolly. “To me, it feels like it could fit on any of our albums, but I will say if you like the old Theory of a Deadman, you’ll love the new Theory of a Deadman.”

“Rock is where we made our bed for all these years,” adds guitarist Dave Brenner. “It’s been a while since we had an up-tempo in-your-face track like this – and it felt good.”

Skillet released their eleventh studio album Dominion back in January via Atlantic. The band worked with renowned rock producer Kevin Churko (Ozzy Osbourne, Disturbed, Five Finger Death Punch) and his son, Kane Churko, alongside Michael O’Conner and Seth Mosley. Their last album – 2019’s Victorious – topped the Billboard Christian Albums chart and landed at No. 3 on both Billboard’s Top Rock and Top Hard Rock albums charts.

Saint Asonia are releasing their new EP Extrovert on November 18 via Spinefarm. The six-song outing is the follow up to their 2018 EP Introvert . On December 9, the band – which features Staind guitarist Mike Mushok and ex-Three Days Grace frontman Adam Gontier – will release both EPs in a physical package called Introvert/Extrovert . The physical recording will feature bonus tracks as well.

THEORY Announces Winter 2022 Tour

Fresh off a successful fall 2021 tour, THEORY OF A DEADMAN (a.k.a. THEORY ) is returning to the road this winter on the "Say Nothing" tour.

THEORY will embark on a headline run, kicking off February 11 in Indianapolis and running through March 13 in Charleston, South Carolina. Support includes BLACK STONE CHERRY from February 11 to February 14. SHAMAN'S HARVEST will support on all the remaining dates.

Pre-sale tickets will be available starting tomorrow (Wednesday, December 15) at 10 a.m. local time. The public on-sale is set for Friday, December 17 at 10 a.m. local time.

Fans can expect a set packed with instantly recognizable smash hits, long-standing fan favorites, and material from the band's 2020 full-length "Say Nothing" .

Upon release last year, "Say Nothing" debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Alternative Albums chart and No. 3 on the Rock Albums chart. Produced by Martin Terefe , "Say Nothing" finds THEORY speaking up through timely lyrical commentary with the band's finger on the pulse of the current climate and the issues that our society is grappling with today, all threaded together with a message that's both a cautionary warning and a hopeful wish for our collective future. The title track offers up a stark, emotional confessional about a communication breakdown in a relationship that ultimately leads to its demise and "Strangers" addresses the current tense state of American politics and the divisive nature of our culture, calling out how nasty it has become between those with differing political affiliations and our society's increasing inability to openly listen and relate to one another.

With undeniable anthems, scorching songcraft, experimental vision, rock 'n' roll attitude, and clever pop ambition, "Say Nothing" is a continuation of their musical and thematic evolution, displaying the band's powerful storytelling in full force and introducing fresh sounds and sonics. Taylor Swift fans think the pop star could be making changes to her Eras Tour!

The Grammy winner, 34, has been sharing YouTube Shorts as of late with The Tortured Poets Department -related content. Her eleventh studio album was released just in time for the European leg of her Eras Tour and Swifties are convinced that her latest rehearsal clip hints at songs from the new collection joining the setlist.

“HOW IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THE TTPD SIGN SHES LEANING AGAINST?! OR WHAT ABOUT THE FACT THAT THE DANCERS ARE IN TOP HATS!?! ALL OF THIS IS NEW, ” YouTube user @bethanymills1293 commented on the clip.

Swift’s YouTube Shorts video is set to her new single “Fortnight,” which features Post Malone .

In the music video for the track, the “Clara Bow” singer can be seen sitting in a room full of typewriters around the 1:39 mark. The men in the background are all wearing top hats.

Fans think that the superstar may begin incorporating elements of the new album into her shows when the Eras Tour picks back up in Paris in May.

As part of the TTDP rollout, Swift told Amazon Music that "Fortnight" "exhibits a lot of the common themes that run throughout this album," one of the biggest being "fatalism — longing, pining away, lost dreams."

"I think that it’s a very fatalistic album in that there are lots of very dramatic lines about life or death. ‘I love you, it’s ruining my life.’ These are very hyperbolic, dramatic things to say,” she said . “It’s that kind of album.”

When iHeartRadio premiered the album during a special listening event, Swift shared some more “Fortnight” tidbits.

“A lot of the songs on The Tortured Poets Department deal with the idea of heartbreak or loss in a metaphor of something else,” she said while introducing the song.

Since the album’s extended Anthology edition was released on April 19, it has already hit 1 billion Spotify streams in under a week.

The record-breaking 31-track album has eclipsed two of Swift's own albums — Midnights and 1989 (Taylor's Version) — which previously held the record.

Much of the album’s success can be attributed to having “Fortnight” as the breakout single.

"I’ve been such a huge fan of Post because of the writer he is, his musical experimentation and those melodies he creates that just stick in your head forever," she wrote on Instagram after announcing it would be the album's first single.

"I got to witness that magic come to life firsthand when we worked together on Fortnight."

Paige Spiranac has theory for plummeting Masters ratings

Scottie Scheffler dominated this year's Masters to earn a four-shot victory, his second at Augusta National in the last three years.

However, this past week's tournament wound up being one of the worst-rated in recent memory.

Sports Business Journal reported that CBS drew 9.589 million viewers for the final round of the Masters on Sunday, down 20% from last year.

While golf fans were geared up for a classic entering Sunday, as Scheffler had just a one-shot lead entering the final round, he took the course by the horns and ran away with it.

The tournament was seemingly over by the time Scheffler even finished with Amen Corner, making it not as much a must-watch as people anticipated.

It also didn't help that Tiger Woods' 82 round on Saturday, his worst-ever at Augusta, put him out of contention (he finished dead last). But golf influencer Paige Spiranac has another theory.

"Golf is in an interesting spot right now. People turned off by all the money talk and the industry’s unwillingness to try new things. Some change needs to happen," she wrote on X.

It seems that Spiranac could be hinting at the ongoing PGA-LIV discussions that have been occurring for nearly two years, which have seemingly stalled — although PGA commissioner Jay Monahan says progress has been made.

This year's final round was the least-watched since Hideki Matsuyama's victory in 2021. Woods also missed that tournament, and Matsuyama entered that day with a four-shot lead.

Is Matty Healy ‘Florida’ in Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department? Fan Theory Explained

There’s another tune from The Tortured Poets Department that Taylor Swift fans are speculating is about her romance with ex Matty Healy .

In Swift’s song “Florida!!!” , which featured Florence Welch , she sings, “I need to forget, so take me to Florida.”

After Swift, 34, and Joe Alwyn split after six years together in April 2023, her next Era’s Tour show was in Florida. One fan pointed out via TikTok on Tuesday, April 23, that her lyrics could mean she “needed to forget about Joe Alwyn.”

She then sings, “So you work your life away just to pay for a time-share down in Destin.” The fan pointed out that Swift and Healy, 35, “only shared a short time together.”

One month after her split from Alwyn, 33, Swift became linked to The 1975 singer. But the pair called it quits in June 2023 after a resurfaced podcast interview of Healy’s began circulating on the internet, where he made problematic comments about Swift’s pal Ice Spice . (Swift and Healy were previously rumored to be together in 2014.)

“Florida is one hell of a drug / Florida can I use you up?” Swift continues on the track. The fan speculated that Swift’s “drugs” reference could actually mean Healy.

“That’s why we saw them together after the break up with Joe,” the fan continued. “He’s one hell of a drug because he works. He actually takes her mind off of Joe.”

The fan hinted that Swift’s line, “I’ve got some regrets, I’ll bury them in Florida,” could actually symbolize her feelings toward her relationship with Healy.

“Tell me I’m despicable, say it’s unforgivable,” Swift sings, which the fan speculated could relate to how “the whole world hated their relationship together.” The fan added, “The world judged Taylor for dating Matty.”

After TTPD was released on Friday, Swift shared her actual inspiration behind the track. “I think I was coming up with this idea of, ‘What happens if your life doesn’t fit or your choices you’ve made catch up to you and you’re surrounded by these harsh consequences and judgment and circumstances did not lead you to where you thought you would be and you just want to escape from everything you’ve ever known — is there a place you can go?’” Swift said on iHeartRadio. “I’m always watching Dateline and people, you know, have these crimes that they commit and they immediately escape town [and] go to Florida, try to reinvent themselves and have this new identity, blend in.”

She added, “And I think when you go through heartbreak, there’s part of you that thinks, ‘I want a new name, I want a new life. I don’t want anyone to know where I’ve been or know me at all.’”

If the fan theory holds true, “Florida!!!” wouldn’t be the only song on TTPD that’s an ode to her relationship with Healy. Since her 11th studio album’s release, fans have speculated that tracks like “But Daddy I Love Him” to “Fortnight” and “Fresh Out the Slammer” could be about The 1975 musician.

As for how Healy is faring after Swift’s music drop, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that he’s breathing a sigh of “relief.”

“Matty still thinks very highly of Taylor but we were all nervous about what she might have said on the album,” the insider told Us earlier this month, noting that people close to Healy “couldn’t be happier” with how the record turned out.

Taylor Swift fans flock to London pub apparently referenced on new album

Staff at the Black Dog in Vauxhall ‘100% certain’ theirs is the pub mentioned in song of the same name

Last Thursday was shaping up to be a normal day for the Black Dog pub in south London , until its social media traffic mysteriously started ramping up.

The reason was that Taylor Swift’s new album had leaked, featuring a song that shared its name. Within an hour of its release, the small venue was deluged with excited fans, while its staff scoured CCTV for a sighting of the world’s biggest pop star.

Over the course of the weekend, thousands of devoted Swifties, as Taylor’s fans call themselves, descended on Vauxhall to feel closer to their favourite artist. The Black Dog’s lyrics reference spotting that an ex-boyfriend was entering the pub – most likely the British actor Joe Alwyn, who lives in the area.

Lily Bottomley, an events and social manager for SC Soho, the small hospitality group that owns the Black Dog, said the mention had taken the neighbourhood pub by surprise.

“I was like, wow, what a coincidence, that’s crazy. Then traffic got bigger, and then just exploded when her album went live. We created a TikTok, started posting, interacting with fans. We’re completely booked out this week and we’re nearly full for her tour dates. It’s been amazing for the business, the fans have been overwhelmingly positive,” she said.

The atmosphere was one of “celebration, super jovial, really good vibes” at the weekend, Bottomley said, adding that the pub had hired last-minute security to deal with the surge.

Bottomley said fans were particularly interested to learn whether it was Alwyn or Swift’s other British ex-boyfriend, Matty Healy, referred to in the song. She has confirmed that the pub has had “a certain blond regular in a few times”, in a coy reference to Alwyn’s hair colour.

She is “100% certain” the pub is the one referenced in the song, since Swift has previously talked about nights out in neighbouring Brixton.

She said: “We’ve been looking at past security footage [for Swift]. We haven’t found anything but you never know. I’ve heard that whenever she visits places she puts a cap on, so we could have missed it. We’d love to have her back.”

When the Guardian visited at the pub’s opening at midday on Monday, a steady stream of Swifties were paying their respects.

Emilia Linton, 24, and Katie McGowan, 28, had rushed to the Black Dog before flying home to Vienna, and were keen to secure some content for their Instagram Stories.

“It makes you feel the song more, because you know what she’s referencing,” Linton said. “She’s a lyrical genius, she introduced me to country, and she makes it cool to be a girl again.”

While McGowan had expected a dingier locals’ pub, Linton argued that the upmarket gastropub’s “sweet, girlie” ambience was more fitting.

The pair’s friend, Liz, 23, from Leeds, said: “It feels very like, if you’re American, what you’d think a pub was. I just don’t see Taylor Swift in a ’Spoons.”

She had previously enjoyed visiting the Beechwood cafe in LA, mentioned in a Harry Styles song, and was keen to recreate the experience. “I just love getting recommendations, from friends and stuff – including my close personal friend Taylor,” Liz said.

The trio welcomed fellow Swift fan Tyler Ewings, 18, on to their table. He was visiting from Plymouth. “I thought I’d come see what it’s like, take in the vibe of it,” he said. “Swifties are a very tight-knit community and actually kind of loving. If you go to a concert you’ll talk to loads of people outside the venue.”

He said the specificity of the pub’s mention made him feel more connected to Swift. “With London Boy she referenced all kinds of places in London, but to target one place, it feels like she’s gone in deeper.”

Julien Dimitrov, 30, had dragged his reluctant boyfriend to the pub on the final day of their holiday before returning to the Czech Republic. When he realised the Black Dog was in London, he was thrilled by the coincidence. “I immediately thought I must visit it,” he said.

The pub’s mention reflects all that he cherishes in Swift: “She’s so open, so friendly, so human, down to earth, relatable – even though she’s famous.”
