Vidéo Tour des Flandres : le résumé du nouveau triomphe en solitaire de Mathieu van der Poel

On l’imaginait mal rater le coche. Sans concurrent à son niveau au départ de ce Tour des Flandres, Mathieu van der Poel n’a pas tremblé , dimanche 31 mars, pour remporter son cinquième Monument à 29 ans. Au terme d'un raid solitaire de 45 bornes sous la pluie flandrienne, le leader d'Alpecin-Deceuninck a levé les bras avec 1'03" d'avance sur l'Italien Luca Mozzato ( Arkéa-B&B Hôtels) et l'Allemand Nils Politt (UAE Team Emirates).

En l’absence du tenant du titre, Tadej Pogacar, et du rival belge Wout van Aert, tombé sur A travers la Flandre mercredi, le champion du monde néerlandais ne s’est pas affolé lorsqu’un Mads Pedersen diminué a attaqué à 100 kilomètres de l’arrivée. Malgré un retard de plusieurs dizaines de secondes sur la tête de course, "MVDP" est revenu. Avant de laisser ses qualités de cyclocross-man s’exprimer dans le Koppenberg, où il a lâché le reste des coureurs, quasi tous contraints de poser pied à terre sur le pavé mouillé. Vainqueur au Vélodrome de Roubaix l’an passé, il pourrait doubler la mise dimanche prochain sur l'Enfer du Nord.

C’est le grand retour des classiques flandriennes en ce début d’année 2024, avec le toujours aussi attendu Tour des Flandres ! Un an après le numéro de Tadej Pogacar dans la montée du Vieux Quaremont les coureurs sont prêts à se battre pour succéder au Slovène, absent cette année. En grand forme, Mathieu van der Poel fait évidemment figure de favori, lui qui a déjà remporté cette course deux fois (2020 et 2022) et qui peut entrer un peu plus dans la légende en cas d’une troisième victoire en Belgique. Mais le Néerlandais aura face à lui de sacrés adversaires, à commencer par Mads Pedersen, tout juste vainqueur de Gand-Wevelgen, devant le petit fils de Raymond Poulidor. 

Tombé en début de semaine lors de la course « À travers les Flandres », Wout van Aert favori pour ce Tour des Flandres a du déclarer forfait, lui qui avait pris la deuxième place en 2020 et qui avait fait de cette classique un des ses principaux objectifs en 2024. Le Belge laisse donc sa place de leader de la Visma-Lease a Bike à Matteo Jorgenson. Arrivé durant l’intersaison, l’Américain est en grande forme après avoir remporté Paris – Nice mais surtout « À travers les Flandres » .

Troisième de l’épreuve en 2022, Valentin Madouas sera au départ avec son maillot de champion de France sur les épaules, tout comme Julian Alaphilippe récemment 9 e du Milan – San Remo. De retour à Anvers, le départ est donné à 10h, avec au programme 270.8 kilomètres.

Christophe Laporte termine premier Français. Le coureur de Jumbo-Visma se classe finalement 14e du Tour des Flandres 2023 à 5'16'' de Pogacar.

Van der poel jamais hors du top 4.

Même s'il n'a pas réussi à gagner, Mathieu van der Poel a confirmé qu'il maîtrisait comme personne le Tour des Flandres. En cinq participations, le Néerlandais n'a jamais fait pire que 4e (2019). Vainqueur en 2020 et 2022, il a donc fini deux fois deuxième en 2021 et 2023.

Pogacar gagne son 3e Monument

À seulement 24 ans, Tadej Pogacar inscrit un troisième Monument à son palmarès après avoir gagné Liège-Bastogne-Liège (2021) et le Tour de Lombardie (2021 et 2022).

Tadej Pogacar devient seulement le troisième vainqueur du Tour de France a s'imposé au Tour des Flandres. Le Slovène rejoint dans la légende le Français Louison Bobet et le Belge Eddy Merckx.

Pogacar : "Un jour que je n'oublierai jamais"

Interrogé à l'arrivée, Tadej Pogacar a exprimé son soulagement d'avoir accroché le Tour des Flandres à son palmarès. "C'est un jour que je n'oublierai jamais (...) Je pourrais presque annoncer la fin de ma carrière après une telle journée", a réagi le Slovène.

Pedersen complète le podium

Au sprint, au bout de ses forces, Pedersen résiste au retour de van Aert et vient le coiffer sur la ligne pour s'offrir un podium mérité, lui qui a été très actif toute la journée.

La démonstration flandrienne de Pogacar

Au bout d'une course monumentale, Tadej Pogacar triomphe en solitaire. Le Slovène a offert un spectacle fantastique, déclenchant les hostilités dans l'avant-dernier passage du Vieux Quaremont, puis en matant van der Poel dans les mêmes pentes avant de tenir en champion. Le Néerlandais se contente de la deuxième place.

Pogacar y va tout droit

Pogacar passe sous la flamme rouge dans l'interminable ligne droit qui ramène à la ligne d'arrivée à Audenarde.

Plus que deux kilomètres

Pogacar est tout proche de réaliser un exploit majuscule et de remporter le Tour des Flandres. Le Slovène a encore 2 kilomètres à tenir et encore 24 secondes d'avance sur van der Poel.

Pogacar ne lâche rien

Dans les grandes lignes droites du final, Pogacar est bien vissé sur sa machine et maintient le vainqueur sortant à environ 30 secondes. Il est moins de 5 kilomètres d'écrire une nouvelle page de sa légende.

La poursuite plafonne

Le groupe où figure van Aert ne reprend rien sur Pogacar et reste pointé à 27 secondes d'un van der Poel en solitaire pourtant. Ce groupe jouera la troisième place.

Fabian Cancellara est le dernier coureur à avoir réussi à remporter deux fois de suite le Tour des Flandres. C'était en 2013 et 2014.

Van der Poel désabusé

Van der Poel fait son maximum mais son visage indique une forme de déception. Le Néerlandais a certainement compris qu'il ne réaliserait pas le doublé Milan San Remo-Tour des Flandres, exploit réussit seulement par Eddy Merckx en 1969 et 1975.

Van der Poel ne reprend rien

Van der Poel souffre dans son exercice de poursuite et a cédé du terrain. Il est à 20 secondes de Pogacar qui ne se désunit pas. Derrière van Aert mène le troisième groupe.

Marlen Reusser de retour aux affaires après sa chute

Ce retour est plus rapide qu'initialement escompté. La Suissesse avait été sérieusement blessée lors de sa chute, avec notamment une fracture de la mâchoire et neuf dents cassées. " Je suis moi-même étonnée par la vitesse à laquelle j'ai pu me régénérer ", a-t-elle indiqué.

En l'état actuel, les deux grands objectifs de la saison de Marlen Reusser ne sont pas menacés. Elle veut briller aux Jeux olympiques de Paris à fin juillet et à fin septembre lors des Mondiaux de Zurich. La Bernoise figurera parmi les favorites, notamment en contre-la-montre. " Si tout va bien jusque-là, je serai très très rapide à Paris. Théoriquement, je peux viser l'or sur le chrono ".

Dans sa chute, elle a eu la chance que les jambes et le haut du corps ne soient pas touchés. Et dans la perspective des rendez-vous estivaux, elle va peaufiner sa condition en disputant la Vuelta.

«First acquaintance with Moscow» – a 2.5-hour city tour in the center of Moscow

This Moscow city tour starts on the Theater Square, past Lubyanka Square and the KGB-building, then through Kitay Gorod district and Varvarka Street, past the world-famous St. Basil’s Cathedral. Then it goes across Zarjadje Park, over Red Square at the Lenin Mausoleum, the GUM-department store and towards the Historical Museum. We walk through the Alexander Garden.

A 3.5-hour car/bus tour of Moscow.

This is the best tour of Moscow city as all the important sights are visited. I am your Moscow city guide who will walk you through the city explaining the charming history of the city. This tour begins with picking you up from the hotel. 3 breaks are offered for photographing.

First, we will visit the most famous riverside streets and bridges in the center of the city with the most beautiful views of the Kremlin and the Moskva River (e.g. the Kremlin embankment and the Great Stone Bridge).

The first photo break is made at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. We then pass by the district with numerous museums, Prechistinka Street and the district with numerous medical areas.

We then drive past the Kremlin again and finally reach Red Square. We take a short tour of Red Square and say goodbye in the Alexander Garden.

Metro tour – daily

A military tour – riding on tanks in Stupino (Moscow region)

C’est le grand retour des classiques flandriennes en ce début d’année 2024, avec le toujours aussi attendu Tour des Flandres ! Un an après le numéro de Tadej Pogacar dans la montée du Vieux Quaremont les coureurs sont prêts à se battre pour succéder au Slovène, absent cette année. En grand forme, Mathieu van der Poel fait évidemment figure de favori, lui qui a déjà remporté cette course deux fois (2020 et 2022) et qui peut entrer un peu plus dans la légende en cas d’une troisième victoire en Belgique. Mais le Néerlandais aura face à lui de sacrés adversaires, à commencer par Mads Pedersen, tout juste vainqueur de Gand-Wevelgen, devant le petit fils de Raymond Poulidor. 

Tombé en début de semaine lors de la course « À travers les Flandres », Wout van Aert favori pour ce Tour des Flandres a du déclarer forfait, lui qui avait pris la deuxième place en 2020 et qui avait fait de cette classique un des ses principaux objectifs en 2024. Le Belge laisse donc sa place de leader de la Visma-Lease a Bike à Matteo Jorgenson. Arrivé durant l’intersaison, l’Américain est en grande forme après avoir remporté Paris – Nice mais surtout « À travers les Flandres » .

Troisième de l’épreuve en 2022, Valentin Madouas sera au départ avec son maillot de champion de France sur les épaules, tout comme Julian Alaphilippe récemment 9 e du Milan – San Remo. De retour à Anvers, le départ est donné à 10h, avec au programme 270.8 kilomètres.
