Year of construction: 2005 Architects: Khon Pedersen Fox Associates and SRA(Saubot, Rouit and Associates) Architects Surface area: 43,000 sq.m Height: 140 m, 32 floors Former name: Dexia

Address: 1 passerelle des Reflets - 92400 Courbevoie Nearest car park: Corolles Nearest public transport: Esplanade de La Défense

Like the Fiat Tower, formerly Areva, the Dexia Tower is the fruit of Franco-American collaboration. With its lower levels perched on stilts and its "plaza" - an open space at the foot of a tower - it is the most New York of the towers at La Défense. Designed like the bow of a ship, it is designed to benefit from natural light at all times. However, CBX retains a distinctive feature of the business district, namely the combination of a straight and a curved façade.

A word about the architects

Founded in 1976 by William Pedersen (1938), Eugene Kohn (1930) and Sheldon Fox (1930), Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates continues the tradition of its predecessors Skidmore, Owing and Merrill. Specializing in office towers, it operates worldwide. Since the 1990s, she has designed many "iconic" architectures such as the Adia Tower in Abu Dabi and the Shanghai World Financial Center. In 2012, the agency will complete the Pinnacle Tower in the heart of the City of London. At La Défense, it is involved in three projects: CBX, Logica and First.

SRA Architects was founded in 1996 by Jean Rouit, Hervé Metge and Clémence Fiant-Saubot - daughter of Roger Saubot, Rouit's former employer. The agency quickly specialized in large scale projects in collaboration with the big names in the architectural world. At La Défense, the firm joined forces with its American counterpart, Kohn Pedersen Fox, for the refurbishment of the Logica (former EDF-GDF tower) and First (former UAP tower) towers, as well as for the construction of the Dexia tower (which became CBX) in 2005. SRA Architects are also involved in projects for the Défense Plaza building, the Carpe Diem tower and the Phare tower (project abandoned in 2015).

Total s’étend dans la tour CBX

tour total cbx

Tour Edge Exotics CBX Hybrid Review

More in hybrids:.

TaylorMade Qi10 Tour Rescue

50 Words or Less

The Tour Edge Exotics CBX Hybrid has the compact size and performance profile best suited to skilled or high speed players.  A great way to replace an unreliable fairway wood.

tour total cbx

Introduction

Tour Edge Exotics clubs have long been a secret weapon for Tour players.  This year, Tour Edge has removed the “secret” part by signing numerous Champions Tour players to endorsement deals and piling up wins.

Do you need to be a legend to bag the CBX hybrid?  Not at all.  You just need to be ready to hit some really long hybrid shots.

tour total cbx

The black crown is compact, with a classic pear shape that may suit the eye of a better player.  The face follows in style with a relatively short, rectangular profile .  The sole reveals a bit more about the character of the Exotics CBX Hybrid with its polished horseshoe rails and the composite section between them.

Sound & Feel

The sound of the CBX hybrid, much like the look, is very “player-ish.”  It’s quiet and solid with a low pitched, metallic sound .  The feel of catching the ball flush is sensational – as good as any hybrid I can recall.

There is good feedback both through the hands and the sound.  Feedback is more precise through the hands , but you can easily hear whether the ball was pured or missed.

Performance

What most excited me about the “Spin Killer” CBX hybrid was the potential to have a hybrid that could replace my 3W .  My fairway wood play has improved immensely this season, but I’m still more comfortable with an iron or hybrid.

My first range session made me think this could be a reality.  The 17 degree CBX launched to a perfect height and flew a long way on a flat, penetrating trajectory .  Even weak, slappy push-fades refused to balloon.  In addition to the strong trajectory, I noticed that this is a club that prefers going right rather than left.

I got the CBX hybrid on the launch monitor with both excitement and apprehension – I didn’t want the dream of a 250+ yard hybrid to die.  The results erased my concerns.  The CBX produced slightly higher, more consistent launch than my 3W, similar spin, and similar ball speed.  Verdict?  It’s in the bag .  This club gives me better results on average, plus I have more versatility in terms of hitting shorter yardages and different shot shapes .

The one thing that you need to keep in mind about the CBX hybrid is that it may not work for all players.  Its low spin performance may not be optimal for slow swingers.  This club is offered in every loft from 16 degrees to 23 , so you should be able to find exactly the best loft for your launch and spin needs.

I don’t have much in common with Fred Funk or Tom Lehman, but we do now play the same hybrid.  The Tour Edge Exotics CBX is crazy long and still has the versatility that good players want from a hybrid.  Whether you want to replace your fairway wood or just add another long option to the bag, these deserve a few swings.

Hello Matt, Great review as always. You wrote, “I noticed that this is a club that prefers going right rather than left.” Would a miss be a big slice? Can you shape shots and control distance with this club? I assume you use stock shafts when you review clubs. If you decide to bag the club, do you replace the stock shaft with a shaft that you personally prefer? Thanks. Jon

' src=

It’s a fade biased club, but you can certainly shape shots and control distance. If you naturally fade or slice, I can see a big slice being in the realm of possibility.

The club is 100% in the bag. Right now, it has the stock shaft which has been really good for me (the KK Silver). Testing hybrid shafts isn’t something I do a lot, so I don’t know if/when I will replace it.

Nice review Matt.

I need a new hybrid. My question to you. How important do you think it is for your irons and hybrids to match? I currently play Mizuno JPX 900 irons.

My Driver and fairway woods are all different brands and I really like that set up.

I like the visual design of these Exotic, especially how the bottom of the club looks as if it would help prevent “fat” shots.

I have the higher swing speed you mentioned that would work better for these hybrids.

Matching in terms of brand doesn’t matter at all. It’s only important that each club does a unique job that you need.

I’ve been looking for something to replace my troublesome 5 wood or older Adams 21* hybrid. This could be it potentially. #SecretGiveaway

That one seems nice – a pitty, I can‘t get them in Switzerland! #SecretGiveaway

That review made me curious. It‘s a pitty, that I can‘t get them in Switzerland. Maybe I have to replan my next vacation ;-). Or maybe a #SecretGiveaway?

Cheers Mark

#SecretGiveaway The Tour Edge Exotics continue to make great (and underestimated) hybrids and woods. They haven’t quite caught up in the Driver department IMO but that hopefully will one day come.

You mention a higher swing speed in you review. What would you say is the swing speed needed to put these into play?

Good question. “Higher swing speed” was probably too simplistic. What I was trying to get at was the fact that this is a low spin club, so you need a swing that can produce enough spin to make this work. That could be speed or it could be something else in your swing or a combination of factors.

All that said, I would be surprised if a lot of players with…sub 90 MPH driver SS could make this work. There are always exceptions, but that’s where I’d guess the bar would be.

I would think that the correct shaft would help the slower swinger. The KK 70 shaft with a 3.8 torque I would think would suit the 85-90 mph swinger fine.

By the numbers: Statistics confirm Scottie Scheffler's historical dominance

Change Text Size

Is impending fatherhood the only thing stopping Scottie Scheffler? Quite possibly.

His historic run continued Monday when he completed his victory at the RBC Heritage. It was his fourth win in his past five starts, a run that also included victories at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard, THE PLAYERS Championship and the Masters. The only exception was a runner-up finish at the Texas Children’s Houston Open, where he missed a 6-footer to join Stephan Jaeger in a playoff.

Scottie Scheffler’s Round 4 highlights From RBC Heritage

Scheffler has seemed invincible lately, and the statistics confirm that. Here’s a closer look at some of the key stats that put Scheffler’s historic play into perspective:

  • By winning at Harbour Town Golf Links, Scheffler became the first player since Bernhard Langer in 1985 to win the RBC Heritage one week after winning the Masters .
  • Scheffler is the first player since Tiger Woods in 2006 to win the week after winning a major .
  • With four wins and a runner-up in his past five starts, Scheffler is the first player since Woods in 2007-08 to have five consecutive top-two finishes . Vijay Singh is the only other player to have such a run in the past 30 years (2004).
  • This was Scheffler’s 10th PGA TOUR victory, coming in just his 51st start since he earned his first win at the 2022 WM Phoenix Open. Only David Duval has needed fewer starts after his first win to reach victory No. 10. Duval did it in 33 starts. Tiger Woods is third on the list with 59 starts.
  • In his 51 starts since the 2022 WM Phoenix Open, Scheffler also has 23 top-three finishes (45%) and 35 top-10s (68.6%).
  • All 10 of Scheffler’s wins have come since the start of the 2021-22 season. He is the first player to win 10 (or more) times on the PGA TOUR in the span of three seasons since Dustin Johnson won 10 titles between 2015-16 and 2017-18.
  • This is Scheffler’s fourth win of the season, matching his career-high from 2022. He is the fourth player with multiple four-win seasons since the start of 2000 , joining Woods (10), Singh, (3) and Phil Mickelson (2).
  • Scheffler has now recorded 40 consecutive TOUR rounds at par or better , a streak that began in the final round of the 2023 TOUR Championship. He’s 12 back of Woods’ all-time TOUR mark of 52 straight rounds at par or better (set across 2000-01).
  • In each of Scheffler’s last seven victories, eight or more of the top 10 players in the Official World Golf Ranking have been in the field . His most recent run of four wins in five starts has included two Signature Events (Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard, RBC Heritage), THE PLAYERS and the Masters.
  • Scheffler is averaging 5.38 birdies per round this season, on pace to set the all-time TOUR record for single-season birdie average (since the statistic was first tracked in 1980) . Woods set the current record (4.92) in 2020.
  • In his 39 rounds this season, he has outperformed the field average 35 times . He’s been at least a shot better than the field 30 times, at least two shots better 26 times and at least three shots better 19 times.
  • Scheffler leads the TOUR in Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green by nearly a shot per round this season , after finishing atop the category by more than two-thirds of a stroke per round last season. No player had previously led the category by more than four-tenths of a stroke per round since Woods in 2009.

Looking for cheaper Eras Tour tickets? See Taylor Swift at these 10 international cities.

Swifties who want to snag tickets to Taylor Swift’s colossal Eras Tour know the experience won’t come cheap.

This year, the billionaire will only visit three U.S. cities – Miami, New Orleans and Indianapolis – and prices for the in-demand shows are astronomical . For the Oct. 18 show in Miami, for example, cost of a single ticket ranged between $1,615 and $8,524 on StubHub.com as of Wednesday afternoon.

So, how else can fans see one of the world’s biggest singers? Go abroad .

Start the day smarter. Get all the news you need in your inbox each morning.

In the past 30 days, searches for ‘Taylor Swift Europe tour 2024 tickets’ have increased by 300% in the U.S., indicating that some people are ready to take a long-haul flight to see the wildly popular artist live, according to travel website Islands.com .

Concert-goers who head to Europe for their Swift experience may actually save more money in the long-run . Not only are ticket prices across the pond cheaper, but many European cities, like Warsaw and Lisbon, are also budget-friendly, offering inexpensive food and lodging.

Was the travel worth it? Beyoncé and Taylor Swift's summer concerts drew fans from afar

To determine the most affordable Eras Tour stops, Islands.com researchers compared the cost of a two-night trip, including one cheap ticket on StubHub.com, two nights at a four-star hotel, six inexpensive meals, two five-mile taxi rides, and one domestic beer. However, researchers didn’t account for airline tickets or concert merchandise.

With safety at the top of travelers' minds, the researchers also factored in the city’s safety rating out of 100.

To stay extra safe, the State Department encourages travelers to register with the U.S. embassy in the country they're visiting any time they travel abroad. That can be done at step.state.gov .

For cbx 119 they went to a smaller head with a slight deeper face and shorter heel to toe

cg forward and up for LESS spin, and a hair less offset

ive only played the cbx, not the cbx 119

the cbx 119 has to be less forgiving than the cbx

I love tour edge clubs and have lots of their hybrids, fairways and drivers

I don’t like when they change the head sizes without highlighting the differences in forgiveness

Historically, the CB series featured smaller heads for more workability

im a decent bit not a great ball striker, so I prefer a larger clubhead

Tom Lehman said he liked old cbx hybrid as well as the new cbx 119

i don’t mind the side of the cbx heads, but I probably would not go for the cbx 119’s, but that’s just my preference and comfort level

Confused how the change in the cog would add spin, I thought lower cog added spin and launch....

Cbx + cbx t3 = cbx 119

You are right. It doesn’t, I edited my comment so that it reads correctly

CG moved up and forward lift a reduction in spin

Taylor Swift shocker: New album, "The Tortured Poets Department," is actually a double album

By Alex Sundby , Brian Dakss

Updated on: April 19, 2024 / 10:28 PM EDT / CBS News

Anticipation was growing at a fever pitch before Taylor Swift's latest album, " The Tortured Poets Department ," dropped at midnight EDT. But the pop superstar had a huge surprise on tap: It's actually a double album.

When Part One dropped, Swift wrote on Instagram , "All's fair in love and poetry... New album THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT. Out now 🤍"

Then came the shocker, revealed in an Instagram post saying , "It's a 2am surprise: The Tortured Poets Department is a secret DOUBLE album. ✌️ I'd written so much tortured poetry in the past 2 years and wanted to share it all with you, so here's the second installment of TTPD: The Anthology. 15 extra songs. And now the story isn't mine anymore… it's all yours. 🤍."

What's Taylor Swift's new album about?

Swift described the album as "new works that reflect events, opinions and sentiments from a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time — one that was both sensational and sorrowful in equal measure."

She also said that time has been "closed and boarded up. There is nothing to avenge, no scores to settle once wounds have healed. And upon further reflection, a good number of them turned out to be self-inflicted."

"Entertainment Tonight" correspondent Denny Directo called the record some of her most vulnerable work.

"Fans were left with more questions than there were answers, so good luck trying to decipher who these songs are about, what they mean," Directo told CBS News. "… I feel like there's more heartbreak songs on this than there are love songs."

Hours ahead of the record's release, Swift said on social media that its first single was "Fortnight," featuring Post Malone, and its music video was released Friday night .

Swift praised the Grammy-nominated artist's musical experimentation and melodies "that just stick in your head forever."

"I got to witness that magic come to life firsthand when we worked together on Fortnight," Swift said in her post .

"Fortnight" isn't the only track on the album on which Swift worked with another artist. Florence and The Machine is also featured.

What's on "The Tortured Poets Department" tracklist?

Swift posted an initial tracklist to social media in February one day after she announced the album at  the Grammys , where she won for best pop vocal album. Here's the list of all 31 songs:

  • "Fortnight"
  • "The Tortured Poets Department"
  • "My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys"
  • "So Long, London"
  • "But Daddy I Love Him"
  • "Fresh Out the Slammer"
  • "Florida!!!"
  • "Guilty as Sin?"
  • "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?"
  • "I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)"
  • "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart"
  • "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived"
  • "The Alchemy"
  • "Clara Bow"

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

  • Every day each car in  Moscow metro passes  more than 600 km, which is the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
  • Moscow subway system is the  5th in the intensity  of use (after the subways of Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai).
