Start With Italy's Most Famous Destinations

It's almost impossible to visit Italy without at least passing through Rome . All roads truly do lead there. Whether it's your first or fifteenth time in the Eternal City, you're always going to find something new, like a recently uncovered part of Ancient Rome. First-timers shouldn't miss the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Vatican City but who could deny the pleasure of a gelato while gazing at the Trevi Fountain? Florence is often referred to as Italy's art gallery. Millions come every year to admire Michelangelo's David. Both outside and inside the city's famous Accademia and the Uffizi Gallery you'll find a wealth of Renaissance art and architectural delights. As a major tourist destination in its own right, Venice is hard to beat. It can be busy to the point of bursting at peak times but Venice is a joy out of season. It should definitely be on everyone's list of must-sees in Italy. A big advantage of staying overnight is that you get to enjoy it after the cruise ship crowds have left. If Florence interests you, but you would prefer to explore vineyards and forests out in the countryside, the region of Tuscany provides a soothing balm. We had a phenomenal experience from start to finish! My husband and I worked with our travel partner from Zicasso to book our honeymoon trip to Italy. We were connected with her immediately after inquiring about our trip. We spoke over the phone about what we were looking for: a few days on the Amalfi Coast to relax and get the seaside vibes, then Rome and Florence for more of a cultural experience. She totally nailed the vibe and worked with us extensively to ensure we stayed within our budget. Through multiple iterations of our proposal, we landed on the perfect itinerary, with time to relax and explore (she even helped us add an additional day to our trip at the last minute with no hesitation). The hotels she recommended were top-notch and the experiences priceless. From the private drivers to the boat tours, everyone went above and beyond in their service. We had the trip of a lifetime and I couldn't recommend Zicasso and our travel agency more!

She asked us about our interests and requests, and put together the most incredible package! It was so nice to have a daily itinerary within the app. We knew each day who our guides would be and had contact numbers for any needs. On the rare occasion we had a question for our tour operator, she was very responsive, even with the six-hour time difference. Our Zicasso travel agent planned a one-week trip to Italy for my family of four that included two young teens (12 and 14). We traveled to Venice, Florence (with side trips to Bologna and San Gimignano), and Rome (with a side trip to Pompeii). At each location, we had guides to teach us about the history of the places visited. My feedback is extremely positive and I would recommend this travel agency. Generally speaking, I would commend them for the following: Excellent communication before and during the trip; Excellent support during the trip; Access to top-notch guides; Access to special experiences; and, They completely removed the need for me to research on my own. I trusted our travel agent and was not disappointed.

We had a marvelous 10-day tour of Sicily arranged through Zicasso’s trip consultant. Our tour plan was ideal for activity level and allowed changes to take into account our special interests. The process of selecting one of the several boutique hotels presented in each city or town was good, since we could screen each of the hotel websites and even choose a room to then advise our travel agent. We stayed in each hotel for one to three nights, leaving for a day or half-day excursion. Each was unique, including one with our room in a family palazzo. Each generous breakfast was unique to the hotel’s region. All the drivers were punctual and provided comfortable vehicles to our hotels and tour sites. Our English-speaking guides were extremely competent at each town or site we visited, with walking tours lasting approximately two hours. Adequate free time was available to explore the towns on our own, with shopping streets and selected dinner restaurants easily within walking distance. Communication with the staff at our travel company was via WhatsApp and they kept in constant touch with us throughout. They immediately provided us with a new driver when the designated one became suddenly ill. Not a blip!

The trip was generally well executed. The private transportation was prompt and dependable. The hotels were fine (Rome was better than Florence, which lacked AC in the rooms) and well located. We appreciated the daily itinerary reminders on WhatsApp. We were disappointed that there was no customized treasure hunt for the kids at the Vatican as advertised. It was just a regular private tour with no special, child-focused content/activity. This was one of the main reasons we picked this travel company over the other travel agency, so a bummer it didn’t happen. There was also a miss with our cooking class. While we had an exceptional time with the chef, we didn’t get to do the “pick out the food at the local market” part since it was a national holiday and the market was closed. That is something the travel company should have caught upfront and adjusted the itinerary around, in my opinion. My final qualm is around Cinque Terre. We were told (even after pushing back) that it wouldn’t be a good idea to stay a night or two there because restaurants and other venues would not yet be open. However, the villages were bustling and active; we definitely should have spent more time there.

Julio met my sister and me at FCO outside of baggage claim area for a private transfer to our hotel in Sorrento. He was also our driver on our return trip to Rome. Excellent service and communication. We would definitely use Joe Banana Limo Service if we return to Italy.

We were welcomed at time, even with a 2hs delay flight! All the drivers where really polite and had patience with our 2 year old. The cars were new and extremely comfortable!

Stefania - George and I returned last night from our trip of a lifetime! I keep telling people that it felt like a dream. So with laundry and luggage on the floor, I wanted to stop and send you this message! That tells you just how much we enjoyed our trip. Every detail, every transfer, restaurant recommendation, etc. was spot on. We could not have asked for better insight or a better planned trip. The tours.... oh the tours... were fantasic. We learned so much and while we expected the guides to be nice, we were not prepared for just how thorough and nice they would be. Not to mention funny! We enjoyed them as much as we did the sights that they led us through. The hotels were amazing as well. The rooms were great, but their locations were exactly where we needed to be to have the trip we sought after. But I must say that when we stepped onto the property at Hotel Caruso, I felt like we had stepped into a postcard. The flowers and the views were breathtaking. We spent a lot of time just trying to take it all in. There are no words that I can type, and even with a minor dissertation I couldn't cover it all. I have uploaded over 700 pictures and came home 8 pounds heavier! And this morning I went to the Italian grocer/importer to get my fresh mozzarella. I can't even eat food the way I used to.
