All American Premiere Recap: What Happens in Vegas? (Plus, Grade It!)

It appears Spencer James took quite a gamble in Las Vegas over the summer, and he’s playing with something much more valuable than plastic chips.

All American returned for Season 3 on Monday, bringing with it a whole new set of problems for Spencer and his social circle. For one, Spencer’s back at South Crenshaw High (a transition that didn’t go quite as smoothly as Spencer would have preferred), and his arm is still giving him trouble after last season’s injury. But here’s the bigger question: What happened with Olivia?

The premiere picks up at the start of Spencer’s senior year, and the summer event that everyone’s talking about is the road trip that Spencer and his Beverly High friends took to Las Vegas, where Coop was performing on her tour with Layla. And something must have transpired on that trip between Spencer and Olivia — the latter of whom is still dating Asher, who was on a cruise with his mom all summer — because they can barely make eye contact now.

Spencer calls Olivia out for avoiding him as summer came to a close, and when she counters that he didn’t exactly come looking for her, he says he wanted to give her space. “That’s the right call,” Olivia eventually concedes before running into Asher’s arms when he gets back from his cruise. But later, when Spencer stops by the Bakers’ house to look for Jordan, he runs into Olivia again, and it’s even more painfully uncomfortable between them, which Asher seems to notice. (He also notices that Olivia’s oddly cagey about how she spent her summer.)

Meanwhile, there’s Layla, who seems to have rekindled her flame with Spencer during that same Vegas trip. She and Spencer meet for a face-to-face chat after she gets home from the Coop tour, and she starts by saying their quality time in Vegas doesn’t have to be a big deal. “It was a big deal to me,” Spencer tells her, and they kiss, seemingly getting back together on the spot. But when Olivia notices that Layla and Spencer are an item again, Layla admits they hooked up in Vegas, and Olivia immediately blanches. Two things of note here: Olivia had told her friends she was staying in Los Angeles to help a Sober Sister while the rest of the group went to Vegas, which obviously wasn’t entirely true; and when the show briefly flashes back to the Vegas trip, we see glimpses of Spencer hooking up with a girl, but we never actually see her face.

As the hour winds down, Olivia overhears Spencer confessing to Coach Baker that his arm is still acting up (more on that later), and she gives Spencer a proud hug for telling the truth. But they immediately notice how close they are to one another, and Spencer asks, “Liv, we’re just not gonna talk about what happened this summer?” And the episode ends there!

Elsewhere in the premiere…

* Upon transferring back to South Crenshaw, Spencer does an interview with the Los Angeles Tribune where he’s bombarded with questions about why he abandoned Beverly High. Spencer’s eventual, frustrated response — “Beverly is my past, South Crenshaw is my future” — is taken out of context when the article runs, and Jordan is among the Beverly High teammates who give Spencer the cold shoulder after it’s published; the tension later mounts so much that Jordan punches Spencer in the face, and when Spencer hits him back, it looks as though his arm has gone numb again.

Spencer later admits to Coach Baker that he did lose feeling in his arm during the fight, and that’s the first time it’s happened all summer; Billy, for his part, tries to calm Spencer’s anxiety about how this could ruin his season, promising to get Spencer checked out by one of the best doctors in the league. As for the Jordan dust-up, Spencer gets some tough love from younger brother Dillon, who points out that Spencer’s transfer back to Crenshaw likely made Jordan feel as though he’d unceremoniously lost a brother; that night, Spencer leaves Jordan a voicemail, reminding him that their brotherhood remains the same no matter where Spencer’s playing football.

* Jordan is otherwise preoccupied with girlfriend ( and possible subject of an All American spinoff !) Simone, who goes into labor at the start of the premiere. But Simone gives the baby up for adoption, and she doesn’t even hold her son upon giving birth, assuming it’d be too hard to hold him and then part with him. Plus, she won’t even answer Jordan’s calls, because what if he hates her for giving up a child he loved, even though he wasn’t the father?

Simone’s dad is the voice of reason here, telling Simone that she’s not giving Jordan enough credit. And when he visits the nursery to meet his grandson, Simone’s dad ends up meeting the baby’s adoptive father, who’s so thrilled to finally have a son after his wife struggled to carry a child to term. They’ve named the baby Shay, and Simone’s dad takes photos of the infant, which he later shows to Simone when she’s ready to know more about her baby. She also calls Jordan, apologizing for pushing him away, and he rushes up to her hospital room to love on her.

* Upon getting home from her summer tour, Coop learns that Tyrone’s older sister, an attorney named Monique, is back in Crenshaw, and she’s worried that Monique wants some kind of violent revenge on her. But in the episode’s biggest subversion of expectations, Monique meets up with Coop and tells her she wants to make amends ; she was interested in revenge when she first came back to town, but she realized over the summer that Tyrone terrorized the community, and Monique didn’t protect Tyrone from the gang lifestyle like she should have.

To prove her intentions are legit, Monique reveals that she got Preach released from prison, after she successfully got a years-ago marijuana charge overturned, making Preach’s latest conviction a second strike instead of a third. “And if you’ll let me,” Monique tells Coop, “I’d like to keep making amends.” (All parties in favor of this storyline instead of the revenge plot we thought was coming, say aye!)

Meanwhile, it’s revealed that Coop’s girlfriend, Patience, came home early from the summer tour — and that decision had something to do with Layla’s father. JP Keating “takes cutthroat to a whole ‘nother level,” Patience tells Coop, “and Layla’s dad isn’t who y’all think he is.”

* Finally, there’s Billy, who’s admittedly a bit nervous to be back coaching Crenshaw football; Crenshaw’s potential transformation into a magnet school is only getting delayed by a year, so there’s a lot riding on Billy and Spencer’s performance this season.

Unfortunately for Billy, Crenshaw’s interim principal is D’Angelo Carter, a former Crenshaw student who was mercilessly bullied by Billy, Corey and the rest of the football team; things got so bad that D’Angelo ultimately transferred to boarding school after his freshman year. After getting reminded of how poorly he treated D’Angelo, Billy sincerely apologizes to him, insisting he’s a much different man than he was in high school. But even though D’Angelo can put the bullying behind him, he says he can’t forgive having to leave his family and go to boarding school “because of Billy Baker and his bright future.” To that end, D’Angelo has raised the GPA requirement for all athletic participation at the high school. “Crenshaw will become synonymous with academic excellence,” he tells Billy, warning, “Good luck scraping your team together.”

All American season 3: What happened with Spencer and Olivia in Vegas?

It’s been a half-season wait for  All American   fans to find out what’s had Spencer and Olivia tip-toeing around an obviously not platonic topic.

The wait, however, is now over thanks to “Roll the Dice,” a flashback episode that comes on the heels of Layla confronting Spencer about the mystery surrounding what really happened in Vegas.

While Layla certainly wasn’t happy with the answers she received, we were treated to a layered and emotional missed chance between Spelivia prompted by Jordan and Simone’s ill-advised wedding.

But let me back up a bit and set the stage for an iconic Spencer and Olivia moment that’s worthy of being in The CW hall of fame.

Why didn’t Spencer and Olivia stay in Vegas in All American?

Our favorite group of poorly supervised and jet-setting teens came to Las Vegas at the invitation of Layla to support Coop’s sold-out show.

Her father even bankrolled a killer suite in a clear show of support for Layla shooting her shot with Spencer now that she’s gotten her mental health and personal life together. What the man lacks in professional boundaries, he truly makes up for in being his daughter’s wing-man.

But while everyone, including Olivia, saw this trip as an opportunity for Spencer and Layla to reconnect, Spencer was uncharacteristically dragging his feet. It took the surprise appearance of Olivia who initially bailed on coming to Vegas, a psychic intervention, and Jordan and Simone’s wedding for Spencer to finally realize why things were different between him and Layla.

In a moment that builds off of the history between Spencer and Olivia, the two bore witness to Jordan and Simone’s vows while flashing back to significant periods in each of their lives. Each vow aligned with a cherished Spelivia moment and highlighted not only how integral the two have become to one another but also how deeply they feel about each other.

It was enough to bring tears to both Spencer and Olivia’s eyes and gave Spencer the courage to speak to Olivia about his feelings. He wasted very little time going back to the crystal shop to buy Olivia the necklace she was eying as a token of his affection. Between that and his love confession, I nearly forgot how things would play out which is a testament to the All American writers.

Spelivia scenes from earlier in the season hit different now. We knew there was romantic tension between Spencer and Olivia, but now, we know it’s because things were left unresolved. Olivia ran from their feelings, and Spencer fell back into Layla as a reaction to being rejected. They’ve been trying to recreate some sense of normalcy. Trying to return to a time before Spencer realized he’s in love with Olivia, and she only had to deal with unrequited feelings and suppressed emotion.

But they can’t go back to that time. It doesn’t exist anymore. Spencer’s idea of real happiness involves Olivia, and running from that reality has only hurt the very people Olivia was trying to protect. Layla caught onto the vibe between Spelivia. More specifically, she realized she’s not the person Spencer depends on nor is she the one who knows and understands him the best.

Episode after episode has revealed just how far out of the loop Layla is on Spencer’s feelings. But, he put her in that position by not being up front. So now he has to deal with the consequences. At the end of the day, his broken heart doesn’t excuse falling back on Layla and secretly harboring feelings for Olivia.

It was a mistake to get involved with her again knowing his heart wasn’t in it especially because it has twice now been a reaction to Olivia not choosing him. No one wants to feel like a consolation prize and, while it’s doubtful that was Spencer’s intention, that’s how Layla has been treated.

Next week’s episode, “Canceled,” is our last before All American goes on hiatus. Now that Layla knows the truth we’re expecting fireworks. She’s a woman scorned by two people she loves deeply, two people she’s been pouring her heart out to about her feelings, who have kept quiet on their own. That’s an infuriating place to be in, but having everything out in the open may be the push Spencer and Olivia need to talk about what happened in Vegas.

Olivia has been avoiding the conversation every time Spencer has tried to bring it up. Her avoidance led to an extended absence from each other’s lives that the both of them hated. At the core of who Spelivia are is friendship.

They’ve put their own feelings aside more than once to preserve the bond they share. This most recent time is no different. But regardless of Olivia’s initial misgivings, the two do need to talk. Spencer deserves an explanation for why Olivia ran off, and Olivia should get to put words to how she feels about Spencer.

It’s my belief that she’s in love with him but is so used to hiding it that the idea of telling him terrifies her especially in light of this being the second time she’s gotten in the middle of Layla’s relationship. But the thing is Olivia is already in the middle and has been for awhile now. She can’t change something that already happened. The only thing she can do is work with what’s happening in the moment, and it seems like her and Spencer’s moment is coming back around.

I hope we’re in for part two of the Spelivia love confession next week. Until then, All American fans, fingers crossed.

Next. Will All American season 3 have a big break like Riverdale?. dark

Loved the premiere!

The tension with Spencer and Liv has been there for a while but it’s now bubbling over. They definitely need to confront their feelings for each other before more people end up getting hurt. Interesting that they chose to acknowledge the BLM protests in the real world but not address Covid. Great premiere. Excited to see where this season goes.

Coop should watch her back. I do not trust Tyrone’s sister at all.

Agreed., Making amends makes for boring tv. What makes gripping tv is watching and waiting to see how Monique exacts revenge while under the guise of making amends. And gripping tv makes for better ratings (usually) and that’s what studios and networks are all about.

I’m glad they didn’t address covid, made the episode so much better.

I like liv and Asher together but I also love the tension between liv and spencer

Solid start to the season

I’m also glad they didn’t address covid too. I watch these shows to escape reality, not be reminded of it.

Yeah. Thank god, that in the reality there are no social justice issues, like in All American, there are no poverty or gangs, there are no drugs, etc.

The showrunner said they tried to keep it as relevant to the actual story as possible and placing covid in made little sense.

Liv and Spence…about time!

Spencer needs to stop stealing Ash’s girlfriend. Also dating one best friend while sleeping with the other is beneath him. Even if the chronology is before Vegas (which seems indicated,) Spencer was willing to get back together with Layla and should have had the decency to warn Layla before getting back together with her. This, plus that interview are making Spencer’s into a villain for the season. He is a better man than this and the show is tainting that.

Billy the Bully storyline is silly. That his former victim now has power over him is one thing, but to take it out on the students, that’s different. Some of those kids need Football to go to college. Making them ineligible based on arbitrary grade requirements to punish the coach is down right disgraceful. This principle represents an impoverished community, it is down right evil to further stack the deck against even one of his students.

Tyrone sister will probably kill Preach this season. I get the feeling they are setting her up as the cat who waits for the mouse to drop its guard. That plus Patience and JP spells a bad season ahead for Coop.

I enjoyed the premiere. Looking forward to the rest of the season.

Where is Darnell

Great first episode.Ready for more.

Enjoyed it as usual!!!…..Glad the waiting is finally over. However, not cool that Spencer and Olivia possibly hooked up. Yukkk! They are practically family.Dont want them to hook up.I love me some Asher!!

Ok, the new principal at Crenshaw looks very familar, what is his real name? Was he on Days of Our Lives????

His name is Lamon Archey he’s on Days of Our Lives too.

I think it would be out of character for Spencer & Olivia to hook up and then get right back with their significant others. I think there is some other situation causing the weirdness. Maybe Spencer caught Olivia hooking up with someone else or using again? Or maybe Olivia caught him hooking up with someone else? I would not mind the pairing in the future, but for now, I would not like the storyline of Spencer hooking up with another of Asher’s girlfriends or Olivia hooking up with another of Layla’s boyfriends. Those two characters are better than that.

I agree, but it also seems likely they will hook up again mid season (probably in the finale.) Olivia is clearly still interested in him, (the look on her face when he kisses Layla says it all,) and he wouldn’t be avoiding her if she hadn’t rejected him. My guess is that they hooked up, she freaked out because she was cheating on Asher. Spencer was hurt (emotionally,) when he went to Vegas and rebounded with Layla. Either way, Spencer is not being positioned well this season. His character will probably do something else sleazy soon in an effort to turn this into a wayward good guy arc. Feels kinda silly so far.

This is one of the best shows ever created. Wonderful cast, they all play such a great roll and I love T Diggs what a great way for us to get excited to watch this again plz keep it coming.

Great episode. I am confused as to whether Liv actually went on the Vegas trip because I thought she stayed back and I’m so curious to find out what happened between her and Spence

I love All American! I can’t wait for the next episode!!!!

Am in love with the serie, cant wait for Olivia to admit that she loves Spencer from the beginning.

I love Spencer and Olivia need to make that happen. …

I would have like to seen more of what happened with Spencer and Olivia…… I’ve been waiting all week for this…..

I love this show. One of my favorites, the cast is extremely talented. The storyline are heartfelt and authentic. Team Olivia and Spencer all the way, the bond and obvious strong connection between the two is undeniable!!!

Thanks for this recap! I started watching late and can’t find the episodes to stream. After reading, I felt like I actually watched the show. I do however, still want to see the video lol. Thanks again for the recap.

Daniel Ezra as Spencer and Samantha Logan as Olivia in All American Season 3

This All American review contains spoilers.

All American Season 3, Episode 7

“Roll the Dice” gives us a break from current events and decides to show us all that went down in the summer before school started. Secrets, revelations, and confessions. How about that for a Vegas trip? Let’s discuss…

What happens in Vegas… doesn’t stay in Vegas?

Can we all agree that Jordan (Michael Evans Behling) has been very impulsive and immature in the way he makes decisions this season? Like, to the point where you want to go up to his face and yell “What are you doing?” Jordan and Simone (Geffri Maya) getting married didn’t even cross my mind as a possibility for the secret of what went down last summer. However, it is Vegas, so why not? Seeing it play out makes can be anxiety-inducing to watch, but I guess when you know, you know. Jordan is still very immature and I am side-eying these teens’ decision to get married, but if they don’t listen to anyone, maybe they’ll realize the impact of their decision later on and think about it more seriously. They moved too quickly and everyone knows that. The way that shows have teens act so sure about decisions like these never fails to make me giggle. I know that it’s “to each their own” but come on now, this is way too soon. Oh boy.

This episode really nails it in the way it reveals what really went down in Vegas, and how it changed the course of character dynamics when they all returned home. What I didn’t expect was for this episode to center more around Simone and Jordan and what their decision to move forward will be. You can’t blame Olivia (Samantha Logan) for speaking the truth about her twin brother. She knows him better than anyone after all.

Ladies and gentlemen, there you have it. A moment that was a long time coming for Spencer (Daniel Ezra) and Olivia. We’ve got the answers we’ve been wanting this whole time. Though things did take an upsetting turn in the end, the most important moment happened and it was beautiful.

I can’t get over the intense looks Spencer and Olivia gave one another as Simone and Jordan were saying their vows. It’s always moments like these, in which the angst of two characters that have unknowingly had strong feelings for one another this whole time come out, as the “looks” start to unveil itself. Where one or both of them begin to realize that the person they’re staring at is the person they’ve been truly in love with this whole time.

Let me also note that the montage of all the beautiful and intimate moments these two have shared was touching to watch. Two people made for each other realizing that they have always been each other’s person. For a second there, I forgot that the main focus was Jordan and Simone getting married. Spencer finally gets clarity that it’s been Olivia all along, and that all those moments between them have led them to where they are now. That speech he gave? The writers definitely knew what they were doing because it worked and flowed so well. Ah, teenage love is special and you feel all the feels. For Spencer to put his heart out like that takes a lot of vulnerability and strength, though I wish Olivia said more during that scene, even though she said plenty with her eyes and body language just when Spencer went in for that long-awaited kiss.

Olivia’s hesitation is justifiable, she’s thinking about how Asher and Layla would feel. Again, it’s vry in character for Olivia to sacrifice her own feelings and happiness for her friends’. It’s admirable, but it’s also time she prioritizes her happiness. What really got to me was the way Spencer said that he loved her—like, those three words finally came out of his mouth. “Roll the Dice” does an exceptional job in giving us such a good backstory of what happened in the past, because it finally gave us clarity of what really happened and what this means moving forward for everyone.

Additional thoughts.

This teenage marriage storyline takes me back to the good old of that one CW drama we can’t seem to forget: One Tree Hill . Oh, what a throwback.

They recast Layla’s dad! Did not expect that, but due to COVID travel restrictions when filming, the original actor wasn’t able to be there.

Going back to a time where Coop and Spencer are still best friends and knowing that they aren’t now is sad.

What happened to Patience was not cool at all.

Spencer bought the necklace for Olivia instead! Be still, my heart.

All American season 3 episode 7 spoilers: Road trip to Vegas!

All American February 22, 2021

All American season 3

Also, this trip will serve as an opportunity to address some serious elephants in the room. We think that a lot of characters will need to unravel their feelings in the wake of revelations made at the cabin, including what they want for their future. Obviously, we are still talking about high-schoolers here — there is no reason to sit here and believe that anything is 100% set in stone forever. With that being said, though, these characters can’t think that way. They are in the moment, and every single bond that they have carries with it the weight of the world.

For a few more details on the future, be sure to check out the full  All American  season 3 episode 7 synopsis below:

GETTING THINGS CLEARED UP – With Coop (Bre-Z) performing in Las Vegas, Spencer (Daniel Ezra) and some of the gang take a road trip to see her and Layla (Greta Onieogou) on tour. Layla is nervous to see Spencer and admit how she is feeling towards him, and surprisingly Spencer also gets a little clarity on his feelings. Olivia (Samantha Logan) surprises the group last minute, but she notices that Jordan (Michael Evans Behling) and Simone (guest star Geffri Maya) are acting suspicious, so she enlists Spencer’s help to see what they are up to. Meanwhile, with the urging of Coop, Patience (Chelsea Tavares) tries stand up for herself, but JP (guest star Ray Campbell) has other plans leaving Patience stunned when she discovers the reason why. Taye Diggs, Cody Christian, Monet Mazur and Karimah Westbrook also star. Dawn Wilkinson directed the episode written by Mike Herro & David Strauss (#307). Original airdate 3/1/2021.

If you’re entering this episode with a lot of questions, at least take some solace in the fact that answers (seemingly) look to be coming your way soon.

Cheap Las Vegas package deals

Most popular las vegas flight and hotel deals, last minute vacation packages to las vegas, search by stars, search by review score, search by board, search by price, search by freebies, when to book a vacation in las vegas, tips for finding las vegas package deals.

  • There are loads of types of vacations in Las Vegas and the cost will depend on what type of trip you’re taking and for how long you’d like to stay. Here are the latest prices for a 3 night trip for 2 travelers: Top vacation $372; Family vacation $328; Romantic vacation $478; Luxury vacation $517; Budget vacation $240.

Why should you book a vacation package to Las Vegas?

The best way to enjoy Las Vegas, saving time and money, is with a vacation package. By bundling together hotels and flights, you will often be able to take advantage of preferential rates, as opposed to standard single rates when booking separately. You will also save time matching hotel availability to your flights. If flexibility isn’t your priority, Las Vegas vacation packages could leave you more money to spend in the city itself, rather than on getting there.

When should you book a vacation package to Las Vegas?

Booking a Las Vegas flight and hotel package is an efficient way to save on stress and cash. For the best deals and rooms, it’s advisable to search for Las Vegas vacation packages during quieter periods. Traveling during the week is generally more affordable than at weekends, and by booking earlier you can help avoid higher rates. The July-August ‘Monsoon’ season is a good time to find Las Vegas travel deals, as most travelers opt to visit during spring and fall when the weather is hotter and dryer. It’s also a good time to get away from the concrete and visit the surrounding valleys, mountains and national parks in cooler weather.

Whilst searching for Las Vegas travel deals, be sure to check out seasonal activities. Most crowd-pulling events such as the NASCAR race, the Super Bowl, and the Rodeo happen during fall and winter as well as major conventions such as the Consumer Electronics Show and the Magic International.

Grand Canyon Getaway: an All-American Road Trip From Vegas

Visiting the Grand Canyon is a memory you’ll never forget

Head out on the highway and hit up the Grand Canyon – one of the seven natural wonders of the world – with scenic tours and a stylish Wild West hotel.

With national parks and a natural wonder nearby, Las Vegas couldn’t be better suited for an all-American road trip.

“Vegas is uniquely positioned – within one day, you can visit so many different parts of the country,” says Steve Jones of local supercar experience Dream Racing . “You can be in urban LA or at the beach in Malibu within four hours; along the way, you could stop in Joshua Tree or Palm Springs to soak up the desert lifestyle. Or head about six hours north to the mountainscapes and redwood forests of Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks.”

However, at the top of most hit lists is the Grand Canyon, a two-and-a-half-hour drive through Wild West scenery from Sin City – assuming you don’t stop (frequently) at one of many natural beauties along the way. Here, set yourself up in a chic little Arizonan inn – packed with Americana charm – and take yourself to heart-lifting hiking spots and dramatic canyon safaris along the way, all bookable right here on Culture Trip.

The South Rim is the most popular viewpoint for first-time visitors |

What to Do: the Experiences…

2. south kaibab day hike tour.

Rainbow-striped rock in shades of olive, rust and ochre, plunging cliffs and stacked rock formations – the South Rim of the Grand Canyon is home to most of those much-photographed viewpoints of which you’ve been dreaming, and this hiking excursion takes you along the South Kaibab Trail to some of the most dizzying spots. It’s not hard to see how Ooh Aah Point got the name, but the favorite picnic patch on this tour, gazing down to the Colorado River, is pretty special too.

3. Off-Road Sunset Safari

Activities, Tours

Nevada, Arizona, Utah and Colorado are some of the most scenic states to put the pedal to the metal, and all are centered around the inimitable Grand Canyon. “One of my favorite driving routes is up through Utah, to Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon, then into Colorado, through the Rockies to Denver,” says Steve Jones. “You can then head south and loop around via the Grand Canyon.” If you want to be shuttled around the latter in style, consider this sunset safari in a specially converted vehicle with big panoramic windows.

$200 Hotel Credit: Basic Card Members on U.S. Consumer Platinum Card Account are eligible to receive up to $200 in statement credits per calendar year when they or Additional Platinum Card Members use their Cards to pay for eligible prepaid Fine Hotels + Resorts ®  and The Hotel Collection bookings made through American Express Travel (meaning through amextravel.com, the Amex ®  App, or by calling the phone number on the back of your eligible Card) or when Companion Platinum Card Members on such Platinum Card Accounts pay for eligible prepaid bookings for The Hotel Collection made through American Express Travel (meaning through amextravel.com, the Amex ®  App, or by calling the phone number on the back of your eligible Card). Purchases by both the Basic Card Member and any Additional Card Members on the Card Account are eligible for statement credits. However, the total amount of statement credits for eligible purchases will not exceed $200 per calendar year, per Card Account. Fine Hotels + Resorts ®  program bookings may be made only by eligible U.S. Consumer Basic Platinum and Additional Platinum Card Members. The Hotel Collection bookings may be made by eligible U.S. Consumer Basic and Additional Platinum Card Members and Companion Platinum Card Members on the Platinum Card Account. Delta SkyMiles ®  Platinum Card Members are not eligible for the benefit. To receive the statement credits, an eligible Card Member must make a new booking using their eligible Card through American Express Travel on or after July 1st, 2021, that is prepaid (referred to as "Pay Now" on amextravel.com and the Amex App), for a qualifying stay at an available, participating Fine Hotels + Resorts or The Hotel Collection property. Bookings of The Hotel Collection require a minimum stay of two consecutive nights. Eligible bookings must be processed before December 31st, 11:59PM Central Time, each calendar year to be eligible for statement credits within that year. Eligible bookings do not include interest charges, cancellation fees, property fees or other similar fees, or any charges by a property to you (whether for your booking, your stay or otherwise).

Statement credits are typically received within a few days, however it may take 90 days after an eligible prepaid hotel booking is charged to the Card Account. American Express relies on the merchant to process transactions within the same calendar year that you made the prepaid booking in order to apply the statement credit in the calendar year that it was intended. For example, if you make an eligible prepaid booking on the last day of the year, but the merchant doesn't process that transaction until the next day, then the statement credit available in the next calendar year will be applied to the Card Account, if the purchase is eligible. Statement credits may not be received or may be reversed if the booking is cancelled or modified. To be eligible for this benefit, your Card account must not be cancelled or past due at the time of statement credit fulfillment. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as eligible, you will not receive the statement credits. For example, your transaction will not be eligible if it is a booking: (i) made with a property not included in the Fine Hotels + Resorts or The Hotel Collection programs, (ii) not made through American Express Travel, or (iii) not made with an eligible Card. Participating properties and their availability are subject to change. If American Express, in its sole discretion, determines that you have engaged in or intend to engage in any manner of abuse, misuse, or gaming in connection with this benefit, American Express will not have an obligation to provide and may reverse any statement credits provided to you. If a charge for an eligible purchase is included in a Pay Over Time balance on your Card Account, the statement credit associated with that charge may not be applied to that Pay Over Time balance. Instead, the statement credit may be applied to your Pay In Full balance. Please refer to AmericanExpress.com/FHR and AmericanExpress.com/HC for more information about Fine Hotels + Resorts and The Hotel Collection, respectively.

5X Membership Rewards ®  Points Platinum Card:  Basic Card Members will get 1 Membership Rewards ®  point for each dollar charged for eligible purchases on their Platinum Card ®  or an Additional Card on their Account and 4 additional points (for a total of 5 points) for each dollar charged for eligible travel purchases on any Card on the Account (“Additional Points”), minus cancellations and credits. Eligible travel purchases are limited to: (i) purchases of air tickets on scheduled flights, of up to $500,000 in charges per calendar year, booked directly with passenger airlines or through American Express Travel (by calling 1-800-525-3355 or through AmexTravel.com); (ii) purchases of prepaid hotel reservations booked through American Express Travel; and (iii) purchases of prepaid flight+hotel packages booked through AmexTravel.com. Eligible travel purchases do not include: charter flights, private jet flights, flights that are part of tours, cruises, or travel packages (other than prepaid flight+hotel packages booked through AmexTravel.com), ticketing or similar service fees, ticket cancellation or change fees, property fees or similar fees, hotel group reservations or events, interest charges, or purchases of cash equivalents. Eligible prepaid hotel bookings or prepaid flight+hotel bookings that are modified directly with the hotel will not be eligible for Additional Points.

Bonuses that may be received with your Card on other purchase categories or in connection with promotions or offers from American Express cannot be combined with this benefit. Any portion of a charge that the Basic Card Member elects to cover through redemption of Membership Rewards points is not eligible to receive points. Additional terms and restrictions apply.

Merchants are assigned codes based on what they primarily sell. We group certain merchant codes into categories that are eligible for Additional Points. A purchase with a merchant will not earn Additional Points if the merchant’s code is not included in an Additional Points category. Basic Card Members may not receive Additional Points if we receive inaccurate information or are otherwise unable to identify your purchase as eligible for an Additional Points category. For example, you may not receive Additional Points when: a merchant uses a third-party to sell their products or services, a merchant uses a third-party to process or submit your transaction to us (e.g., using mobile or wireless card readers), or you choose to make a purchase using a third-party payment account or make a purchase using a mobile or digital wallet.

To be eligible for this benefit, the Card Account must not be cancelled. If American Express, in its sole discretion, determines that you have engaged in or intend to engage in any manner of abuse, misuse, or gaming in connection with this benefit in any way American Express may remove access to this benefit from the Account. For additional information, call the number on the back of your Card or visit americanexpress.com/rewards-info for more information about rewards.

5X Membership Rewards Points for Business Platinum Card:  You will get one point for each dollar charged for an eligible purchase on your Business Platinum Card ®  from American Express. You will get 4 additional points (for a total of 5 points) for each dollar spent on eligible travel purchases. Eligible travel purchases include scheduled flights and prepaid flight+hotel packages made online at AmexTravel.com, minus returns and other credits. Additionally, eligible travel purchases include prepaid hotel purchases made through American Express Travel, over the phone with our Travel Consultants or made online at AmexTravel.com, minus returns and other credits. Eligible travel purchases do NOT include non-prepaid hotel bookings, scheduled flights and prepaid flight+hotel packages over the phone, vacation packages, car rentals, cruise, hotel group reservations or events, ticketing service, cancellation or other fees, interest charges, purchases of travelers checks, purchases or reloading of prepaid cards, or purchases of other cash equivalents. To be eligible for the 5x Membership Rewards ®  points, you must both reserve and charge the travel purchase with the same eligible Business Platinum Card ® . To modify a reservation you must cancel and rebook your reservation. You can cancel and rebook your reservation on AmexTravel.com or by calling a representative of AmexTravel.com at 1-800-297-2977. Cancellations are subject to hotel cancellation penalty policies. If hotel reservations are made or modified directly with the hotel provider, the reservation will not be eligible for this 5X Membership Rewards ®  point benefit. To be eligible to receive extra points, Card account(s) must not be cancelled or past due at the time of extra points fulfillment. If booking is cancelled, the extra points will be deducted from the Membership Rewards account. Extra points will be credited to the Membership Rewards account approximately 6-10 weeks after eligible purchases appear on the billing statement. Bonuses you may receive with your Card on other purchase categories or in connection with promotions or offers from American Express may not be combined with this benefit. The benefits associated with the Additional Card(s) you choose may be different than the benefits associated with your basic Card. To learn about the benefits associated with Additional Card(s) you choose, please call the number on the back of your Card.

Merchants are assigned codes based on what they primarily sell. We group certain merchant codes into categories that are eligible for additional points. A purchase with a merchant will not earn additional points if the merchant’s code is not included in an additional points category. You may not receive additional points if we receive inaccurate information or are otherwise unable to identify your purchase as eligible for an additional points category. For example, you may not receive additional points when: a merchant uses a third-party to sell their products or services; or a merchant uses a third-party to process or submit your transaction to us (e.g., using mobile or wireless card readers); or you choose to make a purchase using a third-party payment account or make a purchase using a mobile or digital wallet.

Please visit  americanexpress.com/rewards-info  for more information about rewards.

Pay with Points:  To use Pay with Points, you must charge your eligible purchase through American Express Travel to a Membership Rewards ®  program-enrolled American Express ®  Card. Eligible purchases through American Express Travel exclude non-prepaid car rentals and non-prepaid hotels. Points will be debited from your Membership Rewards account, and credit for corresponding dollar amount will be issued to the American Express Card account used. If points redeemed do not cover entire amount, the balance of purchase price will remain on the American Express Card account. Minimum redemption 5,000 points.

See  membershiprewards.com/terms  for the Membership Rewards program terms and conditions.

If a charge for a purchase is included in a Pay Over Time balance on your Linked Account the statement credit associated with that charge may not be applied to that Pay Over Time balance. Instead the statement credit may be applied to your Pay in Full balance. If you believe this has occurred, please contact us by calling the number on the back of your Card. Corporate Card Members are not eligible for Pay Over Time.

Terms and Conditions for the Membership Rewards ®  program apply. Visit  membershiprewards.com/terms  for more information. Participating partners and available rewards are subject to change without notice.

2. Plan your Vegas trip itinerary

You have lots of options when it comes to putting together a Las Vegas itinerary . It depends on what you want to do and see, as well as how many days you have in the city.

How many days to spend in Vegas

It’s hard to see all of Las Vegas in a day, but if you’re short on time, two days is enough. Ideally, I recommend planning a 3-day trip to Vegas so you can see all the top attractions.

Vegas trip itinerary ideas

For some ideas on how to plan a trip to Vegas , here are sample itineraries for one, two, and three days.

1-day Las Vegas itinerary

2-day las vegas itinerary, 3-day las vegas itinerary.

Begin your  day in Las Vegas  by visiting the  Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign . You can catch the  Hop-On/Hop-Off bus there and take it to Downtown Las Vegas, where you can explore this entertainment area.

Then, go to The Venetian  and check out  Madame Tussauds  and the  gondola rides  at the  Grand Canal Shoppes .

Later, head to the LINQ Promenade and ride the High Roller  during sunset. At night, walk to the  Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas , where you’ll have a great view of the  Bellagio Fountains . The water show is one of the best  free things to do in Vegas , although if you want to see it from the Paris viewing deck, you should reserve a  ticket  (It is also included at the  Las Vegas All-Inclusive Pass ).

Seeing the  Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign  is a rite of passage, so start there. This is also where you can catch the  Hop-On/Hop-Off bus , which will transport you around the Strip.

If you like thrill rides, stop at  New York-New York ‘s  Big Apple Coaster  before continuing downtown. Then you can do the  Las Vegas Downtown – Fremont St. walking tour , one of the best  things to do in downtown Las Vegas .

Later on, head to the  LINQ Promenade , where you can eat, shop, and ride the  High Roller . You can also get awesome views from the 1,149-foot-tall  SkyPod  at  the STRAT . The SkyPod has a late-night bar and lounge, so it’s the perfect place to wrap up a  Las Vegas couples itinerary .

A  Las Vegas weekend itinerary  is ideal because you can experience some  daytime activities in Las Vegas  before diving into the nightlife.

First, take a break from the Strip with a half-day  Hoover Dam tour . When you return to Vegas, take a quick break, then do go to a  pool party in Las Vegas.  If that’s not your thing, you can take in the scene at  Fremont Street , perhaps with a ride on the  SlotZilla zip line  or a visit to the  Mob Museum , one of the  best Las Vegas museums .

If you feel it’s to early to go to bed, grab cocktails at a swanky casino or do a bar crawl .

Ideally, I recommend at least 3 days for your Las Vegas trip so you can fully enjoy all the top attractions. Spend your first day taking the Hop-On, Hop-Off Bus Tour , starting at the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign .

As you make your way along the Strip, stop by The Venetian , where you can see the wax figures at Madame Tussauds and take a gondola ride at the Grand Canal Shoppes .

Later on, check out the entertainment and attractions at the LINQ Promenade . If you perfectly time your ride on the High Roller , you can catch the Bellagio Fountains water show from the observation wheel.

The next morning, get in a nice swim or sunbathe at your hotel’s pool before the day gets too hot. Then, check out a Las Vegas museum , like the Mob Museum or the Erotic Heritage Museum .

In the afternoon, get a spectacular view of the city by taking a Las Vegas Strip Helicopter tour , a premium attraction with the Go Las Vegas All-Inclusive Pass .

Afterwards, grab dinner and drinks at Señor Frogs.

Spend your last day taking an adventure to one of the nearby national parks. I recommend this full-day bus tour to the Grand Canyon West Rim and Hoover Dam .

Once you get back to Sin City, you can eat something and get refreshed before taking in a Las Vegas show .

The best time to visit Las Vegas depends on what you’d like to see and do in Sin City. Thanks to its pleasant weather year-round, there isn’t necessarily a bad time to visit, but there are times when it’s more crowded and expensive.

What is the best month to go to Las Vegas?

  • Best months for good weather:  March and September boast beautiful weather, so you’ll be able to maximize your outdoor time.
  • Cheapest month to visit: January is one of the best times to book a Vegas hotel since prices usually drop after the holidays.
  • Worst time to visit: Christmastime in Las Vegas is busy, but also very beautiful. Also, July and August are super hot and tend to be more crowded .

Now that you know the cheapest time to go to Las Vegas , see if you can save even more by booking a flight with Kiwi or Skyscanner . These sites will help you find the cheapest trips to Vegas across all airlines, as well as the best travel dates for maximum savings.

The downtown area is an exciting place to gamble, dine, and shop. As the original gambling mecca, downtown Vegas is a hub for culture, events, and the free Downtown Loop shuttle.

  • Motorhome Republic (~$158/day)
  • RVshare (~$205/day)

Experiencing the nightlife is part of visiting Sin City, and there are plenty of things to do in Las Vegas at night :

  • Concerts/shows : There are all kinds of shows in Las Vegas , such as musicians, comedians, magic shows, and more. Pricing can range from $50 to $5,900, depending on the performer.

  • Save money on accommodations by booking a cheap Las Vegas hotel or a Vegas hotel with no resort fees .
  • Consider purchasing a Las Vegas citypass , and don’t forget to take advantage of all the free things to do in Vegas .

10. Download a tourist map of Las Vegas

Finally, keep a map of Las Vegas on hand so you can find all the things you want to see. This way, you can plan a route around those attractions, which will make traveling in Vegas a lot easier.

Other travel tips for Las Vegas

Here are some final tips to keep in mind while you’re doing your trip planning for Las Vegas :

  • It’s hard to see all of Las Vegas in a day, but if you’re short on time, 2 days is enough. Ideally, I recommend a 3-day itinerary for Las Vegas so you can see all the top attractions.
  • I recommend getting the Go Las Vegas All-Inclusive Pass (the best CityPass in Las Vegas ) if you plan on staying in the city for a few days and you want to take advantage of all there is to see and do.
  • This sightseeing city tour on the hop-on/hop-off bus is a great way to get around and see several popular attractions.
  • Remember to always have a map on hand when you plan your trip so you can find the best things to do in Las Vegas and plan out a route that allows you to make the most of your stay.
  • Plan ahead and reserve your rental car in Las Vegas in advance. We use DiscoverCars for the cheapest options.
  • You can legally refuse to pay resort fees since they violate the Deceptive Trade Practices Law in Nevada. If you don’t want to deal with this, book a room at one of the Las Vegas hotels without resort fees .
  • The weather in Las Vegas gets extremely hot in the summer, so if you visit during this season, bring loose, light-colored clothes and lots of water.

All-American Bar & Grille

Ratings and reviews, location and contact.

The food and service are good but overpriced (like everything at this property) . Plan on at least $30 per person for a basic lunch, but to their credit the staff was helpful and efficient. They also accommodated food allergies without skipping a step!

The atmosphere is decent, its away from the noise and hub-bub so you can eat in peace. Its also convienetly close to the Comedy Cellar which played a big role in our choosing to go there. The menu is generally what you would expect -... burgers, sandwiches, some interesting entrees along with some salads to peruse. The food was acceptable, and our server was attentive and I enjoyed the meal. My partner and I shared a NY style cheesecake, and it was excellent. The prices are high, but again, its a Casino. I give it a thumbs up. More

I ordered a burger that looked great on the picture. It had a black bun and had a beef patty, and pulled pork and other stuff on it. But the bun was so soggy I couldn't even hold it together. I ate about half of... it and just gave up. More

Located in the Rio. The service was good and friendly. The menu is compact and simple as expected. The burgers and fries were hot and fresh but salty. Though the Brussels sprouts were very good. Value is important and the high prices just do not... warrant a return visit. More

Stopped for breakfast, it wasn't busy but we got right in. Server took our order right away but when the food came and one order was incorrect he was nowhere to be found. He never came back. We had to flag down another server to... return the food and get the correct order. Eventually he dropped off the check with no communication of other kind. So we had one order wrong and eventually corrected and one order that was correct. But poor quality (and expensive). The next morning we walked across the street to Denny's for breakfast. The food was great, the service was great and it was far cheaper. Don't waste your time or money here. More

Just wanted something light so we tried the All American Grill at the Rio. I ordered a Wedge Salad and was surprised at all there was lettuce, tomatoes, strawberries, walnuts, bacon, olives, blue cheese crumble and maybe more that I just don’t remember. All the... ingredients blended so well and refreshing I went back the next day for another one. The first time my wife had Smoked Hummus with olives, tomatoes, carrot and celery strips and warm Pita. The hummus was tasteless and the pita was hard as a rock. The second time my wife had Cali Club (turkey breast, bacon, avocado, mayonnaise) and a side of French fries. The sandwich and the turkey was very dry. More

A nice atmosphere, booths and tables, stacked stone accents, iridescent tabletops, sports on tv. Food is a little over priced, but par for Vegas eating and the portions are huge. The server was friendly. There is a full bar. The menu includes appetizers, soups, salads,... grilled flatbreads, sandwiches and burgers, entrees (including dry aged steaks). Two of us enjoyed the Cali club, the fries were very good. One of my friends had a burger, it was well-cooked and huge. My other friend had the patty melt, delicious. More

My milk was rotten. I almost spit it out all over the table. They gave me another one but still… 2 eggs, bacon and toast and milk ended up being around 35$. That’s wildly overpriced for a mediocre meal that was no better than the... kind you’d get for $13 at Denny’s. I’ll never come here again. More

We dropped in for lunch as we took a break from all the activities that LV has to offer. We figured we would try this place, as it looked like a typical sports bar where you would expect a great burger. First and foremost, our... server (Anthony) set the tone with his EXCELLENT service. We shared the super nachos with chicken (huge and amazing). I got the Cali Club and my spouse had the Heaven. The check came and it was very reasonable for the food and service. I appreciate that the place was clean, the food was hot and good, and the service was outstanding. Try this place if you are looking for a place to grab a quick bite to eat! More

We decided to try the restaurant on our first night's stay at the Rio. They had a menu display outside with no pricing. This should have been our first clue that things would be on the expensive side. We were quickly taken to our table.... Menus were tattered and worn. We decided on our menu items and waited for the server to come. The restaurant was moderately busy. The server finally came and took our order. We got our food fairly quickly. It was good - not great - especially for the price. They showed a breakfast menu but when we went down there the next morning, it was closed. Not sure what the issue was as to why it wasn't open. More

I was at the Rio for the Amateur Athletic Union World Championship and ate here twice during our four day event. Food was fine and service was allright but neither were anything special. But the price was ridiculous. Fifty dollars plus tip for two people... to have a simple lunch. More

Decent food, outrageous prices. Had the Fish and chips and a non alcoholic drink for $40.00. Service was ok. Most burgers were in the $20 range. The Rio is in a “no man’s land” location., so you’re trapoed and the know it.

This is your typical casino restaurant with all-American offerings. The service was friendly and the tables were clean. I had no problems with my visit or with my food. For dinner I ordered a hamburger, which was good. I came back for breakfast and ordered... bacon and eggs. Both meals were satisfying. There was nothing particular outstanding about the restaurant. I had a pleasant visit, enjoyed my meals, and that's the highest compliment that I can pay for this establishment. More

vegas trip all american

I went here when I was on a business trip in October 2019. They have a very good cobb salad, and you can get it with salmon or chicken. Both were good additions (and they will take out items you may not like, such as... cucumbers and bacon). The desserts are very large and very tasty. They also have a lot of TV screens showing sports. It is right off the casino, so if you get a table near the entrance, you may smell tobacco smoke. Tables in the back did not. Overall, good/decent food. More

While staying at the Rio All Suites Hotel, my family and I had the opportunity to order our dinner from the American Grille restaurant. One of my family members ordered a soft drink from a waiter in the casino and was carded. He was of... age, but his ID had expired on his birthday the day before. Because of that, he was asked to leave the casino area. We all decided to also leave and just took our dinner as a carry-out. The food preparation was reasonable quick, the order taker was polite and professional and the food was delicious. Finally, our dinner was reasonably priced- especially for a casino restaurant. More

[Warning: The below contains spoilers for American Idol Season 22 Episode 10 .]

American Idol presented a super-sized night of music during its first broadcast of the season in front of an audience in the Los Angeles studio. Host Ryan Seacrest revealed the Top 20 that made up America’s vote, results from last week’s Hawaii shows. This meant the journey ended for four hopefuls.

Those sent through to the next round based on almost 30 million votes sang for survival once more with words of wisdom from judges Katy Perry , Lionel Richie , and Luke Bryan . Monday’s episode will see another six exit the competition. The Idol hopefuls weren’t the only ones taking the stage. This evening featured entertainment courtesy of Teddy Swims, Paul Russell, and Idol alum Lauren Spencer-Smith. The latter had a full-circle moment performing “Fingers Crossed.”

Read on to find out who made the Top 20 cut.

Jack Blocker

The 25-year-old from Dallas was the first voted into the next round. He recalled his family watching the show at home and voting for favorites in past seasons. Mom has been wearing a shirt with his face on it to campaign for votes while running errands. Jack sang “You Don’t Mess Around with Jim” by Jim Croce. Lionel thought it was the perfect song choice with his personality shining through. Katy called him the real deal. Luke can see it all come together.

Mia Matthews

The 19-year-old spoke about her hometown of Centre, Alabama. She reflected on singing with her mom and sister on the Grand Ole Opry stage. Hoping to stand out further, the hopeful decided on “Wildflowers and Wild Horses” by Lainey Wilson. Katy said she found her roar. Luke thought it was a great performance and song choice. Lionel saw more confidence and artistic growth.

Mackenzie Sol

The content creator from Las Vegas found more people knew him for comedy. He wanted to show who he really was through his music. Footage aired of how a young Mackenzie hijacked his mom’s audition on X Factor in the United Kingdom where Sharon Osbourne was among the judges. The 23-year-old chose “I’ll Never Love Again” by Lady Gaga. Luke was impressed at his journey and the performance. Lionel could feel his passion. Katy wanted a little more enunciation and told him not to forget to have fun up there.

Roman Collins

We were taken to the 24-year-old’s church in Long Beach with Dad. They talked about how he woke from a diabetic coma as a child. The worship leader decided on “Never Would Have Made It” by Marvin Sapp. Lionel said, “Let the congregation say Amen.” Katy thought it was a powerful song choice based on what he had been through. Luke added that it was one of the most powerful things he had seen on the show.

Kennedy Reid

The 23-year-old mortician opened up about how the negative comments on social media affected her after her audition aired. Mom clapped back at the haters. Kennedy chose “Love Can Build A Bridge” by the Judds as a way to take her power back. Katy called it her metamorphosis moment. Luke said she was going to prove people wrong for the rest of her life. Lionel encouraged the hopeful not to listen to the idiots who don’t understand how hard they are working out here. Kennedy told Ryan she learned how to love herself through the Idol experience.

Ajii called his dad his idol, moving from Pakistan with hopes of realizing the American dream. It’s because his dad works so hard that he hasn’t been able to come to see Ajii perform on the show in person. The 27-year-old from Brooklyn went the rock route with “Like a Stone” by Audioslave. Luke saw a lot of energy in the performance but told him not to get too yelly. Lionel dubbed him Mr. Feel Good. Katy loved the song choice and how he was pushing his vocals.

Jennifer Jeffries

The 18-year-old from Starkville, Mississippi reflected on journal entries including one from her audition. She planned to keep journaling through the Idol journey. The student put her unique vocal stylings on “Grave Digger’ by Matt Maeson. Lionel said that she had an identifiable style and should embrace it. Katy thought she was in her head a bit. Luke said when she dives into her sound, he thinks America will fall in love with her.

Emmy Russell

The granddaughter of Loretta Lynn recalled writing her first song at age 9. She was excited to perform an original “Want You” The song was about wanting someone who didn’t want the 24-year-old  back.  Ryan was touched. Katy liked the song but wanted more breath and longer notes from her. It was Luke’s favorite performance she had done. Lionel called it a hit record and called her an incredible songwriter.

Triston Harper

The 15-year-old spoke about how songwriting helps him get his feelings out. He decided to perform the song “H-O-P-E,” which stands for Hold On Pain Ends. The country boy from the small town of McIntosh once again impressed teh judges. Luke thought it was remarkable watching him and that this was what he would do for the rest of his life. Lionel agreed and told him to enjoy Idol and prepare for the future. Katy called it a stellar performance, “the real deal Holyfield.”

Odell Bunton Jr.

Videos from his children aired in support of the platinum ticket holder. The 29-year-old Texan performed “The Door” by Teddy Swims, who took the stage earlier in the show and gave his compliments. Lionel said he could move people. Katy thought it was controlled in the beginning and then he let it ride into the sunset. Luke was happy to be able to sit and witness the talent like Odell, who is fighting for it all.

The “accidental” Idol hopeful spoke about his journey moving to Nashville and how he would write his songs on sticky notes. He gave the audience a talent showcase on song #485 called “Over You.” Katy said he will be a megastar and is excited to see him on tour. Luke found it fun to watch. Lionel believes in him and said he was sitting on a gold mine as a songwriter.

Jordan Anthony

The 19-year-old Australian opened up about his weight loss journey. He saw some comparisons between boxing and songwriting. The artist sang “when the party’s over” by Billie Eilish. Luke loved the performance because it showed his range. Lionel liked how he was able to tell a story and made the song his own. Katy called it one of her favorite performances.

Quintavious

He recalled Tori Kelly wanting him to do her song “Hollow” back in Hawaii. The 22-year-old worship leader decided to do it this week as it was meant. A love song to God. Lionel said he was electric. Katy found him measured while staying true to his roots. It was Luke’s favorite performance from the Tennessean.

Kaibrienne “KB” Richins

The 20-year-old decided to do her first original this week called “girl I am now.” It’s described as a love letter to her younger self. She spoke about her upbringing doing activities including riding dirt bikes, cheerleading, playing football, and wrestling. The Utah singer looked as though she froze in the performance but managed to power through. Katy said it’s boring when people are perfect and saw humanity in her performance. Luke liked the realness. Lionel related to KB, remembering a concert in Madison Square Garden. He concluded that she got them with her performance.

The 28-year-old spoke about how her family came from Kenya and how there was pushback because she wanted to be a singer. Her biggest supporter was her dad Edward, who passed away. The Broadway performer decided to do “Georgia on My Mind” by Ray Charles in his honor. Lionel called it an undeniable performance. Katy was reminded of Jennifer Hudson. Luke said she was one of his favorite voices in the competition.

Jayna Elise

The 2023 alum said her mom was what inspired her to get into music. It’s what they bonded over. The 22-year-old sang “My All” by Mariah Carey. Lionel got the vibe that she had been waiting for this moment for her whole life. Katy was happy America voted for her. “Way to be here, show up, and do a tremendous job,” Luke said.

The 21-year-old mentioned how Hawaii got her thinking about her grandfather, who passed away in 2021. Then when she got back from the trip, her grandmother also passed away. The platinum ticket winner sang “Welcome to the Black Parade” by My Chemical Romance, telling those who passed on that their memory carries on. Katy was a puddle throughout, transported to a new realm. Luke felt it was a glimpse into a bright future. Lionel called the performance magic.

Will Moseley

The 23-year-old graduated from Georgia Southern University with a degree in Biology. The Hazelhurst resident gave himself a year to chase his musical dream. If it didn’t work out, he would look for a job. His audition song “Gone For Good” actually made it to number 2 on the iTunes country charts just below Beyoncé. Things are looking promising as he sang “Makin’ Me Look Good Again” by Drake White. Luke said he was always solid and on the money. Lionel loved the way he did his thing. Katy particularly liked the end of the song.

McKenna Faith Breinholt

The 25-year-old from Gilbert, Arizona was surprised to find her audition had millions of views with those touched by her adoption story. Zach Williams and Dolly Parton even posted a reaction video. She went with “Both Sides Now” by Joni Mitchell, performing barefoot. Lionel liked how she made the song her own and planned to share it with Joni. Katy called her a pro and said she belonged in the Top 20. Luke felt the performance showed how she could win this thing.

Julia Gagnon

The 22-year-old took the last spot in the Top 20. She spoke about winning a local singing competition in Maine and how it helped her gain confidence. The platinum singer sang “I Believe” by Fantasia to close out the night. Katy loved the heartfelt delivery. Luke said she is inspiring people and has come so far. Lionel was proud of her.

‘american idol’ alum mandisa dead at 47.

vegas trip all american

“American Idol” alum Mandisa has died at the age of 47.

On Friday, Christian rock radio station K-Love announced the news about her death.

The day before, Mandisa passed away at her Nashville home.

In a statement, the radio station said , “Even more than her music, the platinum-selling singer will forever be known for her huge heart and sincerity.”

The station’s social media officer David Pierce added, “Mandisa loved Jesus, and she used her unusually extensive platform to talk about Him at every turn. Her kindness was epic, her smile electric, her voice massive, but it was no match for the size of her heart.”

“Mandisa struggled, and she was vulnerable enough to share that with us, which helped us talk about our own struggles,” Pierce noted.

The cause of her death has not been revealed.

Mandisa appeared on the fifth season of “American Idol.”

Years later, she would win a Grammy for her 2013 album “Overcomer.”

In 2007, “Extra” spoke with Mandisa, who opened up about her painful secret, her addiction to food.

She recalled her lowest point, telling Terri, “I went to my apartment, didn't have to be back until the finale and I just ate and ate I watched nothing but television, and I was in the biggest slump of my life.”

Mandisa discussed her struggles in her book “Idol Eyes.”

She emphasized, “My goal is not to be a size two, my goal is to be healthy.”

American Airlines is preparing for summer travel with new premium onboard amenities — take a look

  • American Airlines is launching its first rotating collection of premium amenities Memorial Day Weekend.
  • It includes a new front-row flagship suite, new bedding, and enhanced dining options.
  • The new amenity kit program will cycle skincare products and offer limited-edition specialty kits.

Insider Today

American Airlines is gearing up for summer travel with new luxury in-flight offerings for its customers.

American is launching its first rotating collection of premium onboard amenities over Memorial Day Weekend. It will be available on 300 international and transcontinental flights.

The offerings include new bedding, dining options, and an amenity kit program that lets premium passengers sample different skincare brands and products.

"We thoughtfully curate each element of the onboard experience so every customer can look forward to the time they spend in flight," American's vice president of customer experience, Kim Cisek, said in a statement. "Part of the magic of travel is connecting our customers to the people and experiences that matter most to them."

While most of the new amenities are being offered to premium cabins, main cabin passengers will also have access to new bedding and other seat enhancements.

Passengers in the main cabin will have access to 4K seatback screens, Bluetooth connectivity, and new charging ports. All customers will have access to 1,500 free entertainment content options and can use high-speed WiFi.

Passengers can kick back in the flagship suites with new privacy doors and chaise lounge positions.

Customers traveling in American's flagship suite seat will have access to wireless charging, Bluetooth capability, and multiple storage spaces.

Passengers traveling in premium economy can also enjoy new amenities like wireless charging, additional storage space, and privacy headrest wings.

Customers looking for more luxury can sit front row on the new Boeing 787-9 and 777-300 aircraft's flagship suite preferred seat.

The new seat offers customers additional space and storage. It will offer additional amenities for passengers' comfort, like a Nest Bedding mattress pad, a throw blanket, and a memory foam lumbar pillow.

The seat will also have Nest Bedding pajamas and an exclusive amenity kit featuring additional skincare products.

American used customer research to enhance its bedding in all cabins.

vegas trip all american

American decided to offer dual-sided pillows to flagship first and business class after research indicated 75% of its customers preferred different materials on each side of their pillows. The new pillow will have cool touch fabric on one side and traditional fabric on the other.

Travelers in flagship business class can now enjoy slippers onboard.

vegas trip all american

The slippers used to only be offered on ultra-long-haul flights.

Customers in all cabins will enjoy enhanced bedding, with cabin-specific offerings like lumbar pillows, throw blankets, premium duvets, and fleece blankets.

American says the new bedding packaging will save 25 tons of plastic waste a year.

vegas trip all american

American collaborated with inflight textile company John Horsfall to create bedding from recycled materials. Nearly all the pillows, duvets, and blankets were made with recycled fibers, and filled bedding will be 100% recycled.

Customers traveling in premium cabins will also receive their bedding in a reusable zipper bag made with recycled fibers to reduce plastic waste from distribution.

International business class passengers can try out new flavors inspired by international cuisine and American Airlines destinations worldwide.

vegas trip all american

American is offering new menu offerings to business class passengers on international US inbound and outbound flights.

Some of the meals include macadamia-crusted sea bass with citrus cream sauce, quinoa, toasted orzo, and haricot verts.

American is also offering enhanced dining options to domestic travelers in first class.

Customers can also choose from new preorder options.

vegas trip all american

Preorder options will continue to roll out this spring for business class on flights from the US to international destinations.

Business class, premium economy, and first class passengers can pre-order all of the meals offered to their cabins. The main cabin doesn't have pre-ordering available but passengers receive a complimentary in-flight snack and beverage. They can also purchase food through the buy-on-board program.

Passengers in premium cabins will also have access to the new amenity kit program.

vegas trip all american

American's amenity kit includes basic comfort amenities like a toothbrush, dental kit, eye mask, and earplugs. The kit will also cycle different skincare products and offerings in premium cabins.

American collaborated with beauty retailer Thirteen Lune to curate skincare offerings in the amenity kit.

vegas trip all american

The kit will feature high-quality beauty brands from Thirteen Lune's tailored collection. Passengers can scan a QR code in the kit to learn about each brand and partner featured.

Customers will receive the Thirteen Lune kit for the first few weeks of the kickoff to the new program.

Police investigating after 'American Idol' alum, singer Mandisa found dead in home

vegas trip all american

Christian music sensation Mandisa has died at 47.

The singer was found deceased in her home on Thursday, a rep for Mandisa confirmed to USA TODAY on Friday.

“At this time, we do not know the cause of death or any further details. We ask for your prayers for her family and close-knit circle of friends during this incredibly difficult time," her team said via email.

Officers were investigating her death, a spokesperson for the Franklin Police Department told the USA TODAY Network on Friday after the Christian singer and "American Idol" alum was found dead.

"Mandisa was a voice of encouragement and truth to people facing life’s challenges all around the world. She wrote this song for a dear friend who had passed in 2017. Her own words say it best. 'I'm already home, You've got to lay it down 'cause Jesus holds me now—And I am not alone,'" a statement posted Friday on her official Facebook account read.

The California native first rose to fame on Season 5 of "American Idol," when she finished within the Top 10.

Later, she released her debut album "True Beauty" and went on to become one of the most recognizable voices in the Christian music industry. The five-time Grammy Award nominee snagged the best contemporary Christian music album award for her 2013 album, "Overcomer," featuring the popular title song.

Passages 2024: Dickey Betts, Eleanor Coppola, Roberto Cavalli, more stars we've lost

Reps for the show issued a statement to USA TODAY about the loss of Mandisa on Friday.

"Mandisa was an adored icon on American Idol and in the music industry. She had become a platinum-selling artist and had won several Grammys for her music. Her passing has left everyone on the show heartbroken, and we extend our deepest condolences to her family," the statement read.

Robin Roberts mourns loss of Mandisa, who she listened to during cancer treatments

In 2017, during an interview with Robin Roberts on "Good Morning America," Mandisa recounted her struggle with a deep depression three years prior. Mandisa said she became depressed after the death from breast cancer of her best friend LaKisha "Kisha" Mitchell , who was also a background singer for the star.

“It got pretty bad to the point where if I had not gotten off that road I would not be sitting here today,” Mandisa told Robin Roberts on “ GMA .” "I was this close to listening to that voice that told me, ‘You can be with Jesus right now, Mandisa. All you have to do is take your life.'"

Roberts, who listened to Mandisa's song "Stronger" during her own breast cancer treatments, mourned Mandisa's loss in a Facebook post Friday, recounting how the "Idol" alum was present during her first day back on "GMA" after her cancer battle.

"My heart is heavy hearing about Mandisa. Incredibly blessed that she was there my first day back on GMA after my long medical leave. Her beautiful music and spirit lifted me and countless others. Sending prayers and condolences to her family & loved ones." she said, adding a link of Mandisa's performance .

Mandisa's death shared by Christian radio station: 'Struggles are over'

Mandisa's death was first shared in a blog post by Christian radio station K-Love.

In a statement, K-Love Chief Media Officer David Pierce said she "loved Jesus, and she used her unusually extensive platform to talk about Him at every turn" and asked for prayers for the star's family and friends.

"Her kindness was epic, her smile electric, her voice massive, but it wasno match for the size of her heart. Mandisa struggled, and she was vulnerable enough to share that with us, which helped us talk about our own struggles. Mandisa’s struggles are over. She is with the God she sang about now. While we are saddened, Mandisa is home," the statement read.
