This long travel kit fits 1999-2006 Chevy 4WD Silverados 1500 and 4WD GMC Sierras and gives you a whopping 15″ of travel with 4WD. With the kit you get fully boxed lower control arms, tubular upper control arms, an upper shock mount and it removes the torsion bars.

This Silverado long travel kit will make your Chevy prerunner perform better in the desert or whatever terrain you drive on.

Does not include coil-over shocks or bumpstops.

The True Travel Dynamics long travel kit for 4WD Silverados and Sierras 1500 trucks is built tough to handle all types of off-road terrain. Our kit eliminates the factory torsion bars and utilizes a 2.5″ x 8″ coil-over shock and 2.5″ x 8″ bypass shock giving you more control over dampening and a far better ride. Since our kit is a total of 9″ wider than stock you’ll also need longer axles. Our axle set utilizes custom made CV adaptors to be able to use a 930 CV joint on the inner side to give you more articulation which translates into more wheel travel. If you want 16″ of wheel travel with 4WD, more strength and a better ride then our Silverado/Sierra +4.5″ 4WD kit is exactly what you need.

UPPER ARMS Our  upper arms are made from 1.5” .120w 4130 tubing and 3/16” 4130 plate with high grade ¾ rod ends at the frame pivots. We also changed the frame pivots and put them on tabs on top of the frame and raising the spindle 6” to eliminate some of the drastic camber and caster angles that you get when getting up to 18” of wheel travel. We also integrated an upper arm bump pad for hydraulic bump stop’s. 

LOWER ARMS Our  boxed lower arm made from laser cut 1/8” 4130 steel Using 1” stainless steel uniballs at the frame pivot and 1” uniball at the spindle. This kit comes set up so that you can run a coil over, bypass shock and bump stop if wanted. (coil overs are a must.. we do not build a torsion bar set up)

SPINDLE This kit uses the stock spindle but we supply you with a 3/16 4130 plate bolt on 6”extension that houses a stainless steel vertical stainless steel 1” uniball.  We will be offering a full custom spindle in the future.

AXLE KIT Custom 300m axles using the stock outer and for the inner we have a 6061 aluminum adapter that bolts to the stock cv flange. We use a non plunging high grade 930 cv allowing for up to 18” of wheel travel.

Building your mid-travel silverado/sierra.

Most people when they want to lift their trucks they will go for a 2-7.5'' spacer lift expecting their truck to handle and ride better but they get disappointed when the ride becomes stiffer. The only way to make your truck handle like a sport car and ride like a Cadillac after a lift is going for a mid-travel suspension kit but not the Readylift or Mazzulla mid-travel kit which consist of an upper control arm, lower control arm and a coil-over because the lower control arm will delete the factory sway bar which will make it have too much body roll, therefore, the best mid-travel kit is an upper control arm with a coil-over. When choosing your lift height for a 4wd truck go for 0-2.5'' of lift without a diff. drop or 3-3.5'' of lift with a diff. drop in the front but in the back you can keep it stock or lift it 0-3'' of lift by a lift block or by adding leafs to the leaf pack(recommended for increase of rear suspension wheel travel and articulation). When choosing the coil-over from FOX, KING, RADFLO, ICON or SAW don't be specific about what people say but choose the coil-over which is in your budget, if you are lifting 0-2.5'' of lift go for an oe replacement coil-over and go for an extended travel coil-over if you are lifting 3-3.5'' of lift because the oe replacement coil-over's coil is not made for that height, therefore, it will ride stiffer ( but still way better than stock), I recommend you to install it out of the box (2'' lift) or adjust it to 2.5'' of lift because it is valved at that height or go higher if you are ready to revalve. Choosing an uniball upper control arm ( uca ), you have many choices from Total chaos, Camburg, Icon, Fabtech, Mazzulla and Zone, choose from the following specification:- Total chaos: 9.5''of wheel travel water/dust proof Camburg: 10.5'' of wheel travel ( does not fit stock aluminum suspension) Icon: 10'' of wheel travel (available uniball cover) Fabtech: 10'' of wheel travel Mazzulla: 9-10" of wheel travel (covered uniball) Zone: 9-10'' of wheel travel (covered uniball) I recommend Total chaos for the water/dust proof and I do not recommend Camburg because the uniball gets damaged because of dust clotting in it if it is not maintained monthly! I conclude that people will choose different packs because of their different demands and budget and some will say if you want to go high in lift so I will reply to him go with a BDS 6'' lift (with fox shocks) and add a 6" lifted total chaos uniball upper control arm.

So what do you recommend me if i have a 5k budget to build my first truck in terms of performance, comfort and reliability? what uca,s ? what diameter shock? what brand? and the 5k budget includes wheels and tires. thanks in advance.  

Hello Mohammed, Thanks for the inquiry, I recommend that if you only have a 5000$ budget, to install a fox 2.5 remote reservoir performance series coil-over and 2.5 piggyback rear performance series shocks, with a totalchaos upper control arm. The fox coil-overs and shocks cost around 2500$. The totalchaos upper control arm costs just under 800$. Installing an add a leaf from Zone (50$), which lifts the rear end of the truck 2 inch and increases suspension articulation. It was good you mentioned the wheels and tires, the stock wheels do not fit with the totalchaos upper control arm so you need wheel spacers or an aftermarket wheel with 5 inch or less of wheel backspacing. I recommend Method wheels(800$ for a set) with cooper discoverer at3 285/70 r17 ( 800$ for a set). Please do not lift the truck more than 2.5" because fox do not recommend going over 2" ( tuned at 2" of lift).  

Thank you ahmedabri97 for this information. I am looking to pull the trigger on a mid travel for my daily driver. I am curious with doing just a UCA and coilover are you getting that wide stance up front? I noticed with the readylift and mazzulla that they push the wheels base out about 2 inches on each side and require some added parts like extended brake lines and such. I like the wider look with some fiberglass up front, I am curious if by doing the UCA and a different wheel than stock to clear that UCA if I would achieve that same wide stance because of back spacing or offset. I am doing glassworks fenders so I want the wheels and tires to look right under them and not too tucked like the stock offset. Any insight you have is appreciated. Thanks.  

Thank you SGMJAX for the comment, It is obvious that the kits with lower control arms will give more wheel travel and will widen the truck in front, which will give it awesome stance. The kit with uca and coilovers will not widen your so if you want hardcore suspension components with aggressive stance go for a Mazzulla or a Readylift midtravel kit.  

I just purchased a set of Fox 2.5s and plan on running them at 3", I noticed that you stated that Fox doesn't recommend running them at 3" but their website and the guy I talked to at Fox said that would be the best setup for my situation. Is there something I'm missing? I'm also curious if you have any idea what it would cost, or how many labor hours, to install a mid travel setup. I'm in the process of getting quotes but only have one so far at it seems really high for what it involves. Here's what I'm looking to have installed if it helps... Fox 2.5 front Camburge UCA with ball joints 3" diff drop kit Fox 2.0 rear Rear 2" block Thanks  

@gecko Thanks for the question, there will be no problem running the coilover at 3" but the optimum performance will be at 2" of lift but you will not feel a difference. I know the installation is a simple bolt on installation which will not take more than 5 hours, but I dont know abou the labour costs.  

Thanks again for responding to my questions, it's been hard finding anyone with experience with the Fox 2.5 mid travel setups so your help is definitely appreciated. I do have one other question for you if you don't mind... The differential drop kit I have is basically 4 round spacers that are not tapered. After thinking about how these would work it seems to me that all they would do is slightly correct the cv angles but do nothing for the pinion angle, is this correct? Should I have purchased a tapered differential drop kit? I did search for a tapered kit in hopes of learning a little more about them but couldn't find anything, does anybody even make a tapered differential drop kit? I also ran across an article discussing differential drops for the 2014 silverado's and they made it sound like there was more involved than just the spacers do to the electric power steering assist on the new trucks. What are your thoughts? Thanks  

This type of differential drop is used in bigger lifts like 3.5-4", therefore, don't worry. I know some people who raised their truck(2014 sierra) 4" with a coilover and a diff.drop with no electric power steering issues.  

Awesome, thanks, since I have the spacers would it hurt to use them? Even if they help just a little with wear and tear it would be worth it to me or would they be a complete waste of time/money?  

Sorry, I think I read your reply wrong. Are you saying don't worry about using a tapered differential drop or don't worry about using a differential drop altogether? The second time reading your response it sounds like don't worry about using a tapered drop just use the spacers, is this correct?  

I meant that there is no need for tappered diff.drop, use a spacer diff.drop. Spacer diff.drops are usually used in lifts between 2.5"-4".  

Hi, I have an 09 Sierra Crew Cab that just lost its warranty, so time to have fun. I was wondering if I put the Total Chaos UCA's you talked about earlier and some Fox coilovers at 2", would I be able to keep the 3.5 leveling spacer I have inbetween the shock and the tower. That along with some 3 or 4" Deaver leaf springs.

Hey guys! Great thread going on! Figured I'd chime in and ask a question or two because I'm in the process of putting a mid travel kit together for my 2010 2wd. I'm going with- Front: 3.5" eBay lift spindle ($250) Fox 2.5" adjustable front coil overs ($800) And ZONE upper control arms ($400 BNIB eBay) Rear: fox racing adjustable lift shocks ($250) 1.5" wheel spacers ($100) Other: 315/70/17 wheels Fiberworx front fenders I really like the offset tire look and want to achieve the same look a true "mid-travel kit" with keeping my sway bars for daily driving. However like a traditional prerunner I don't want a whole bunch of lift. I like when the rear tires only have 4-6 inches of gap under the bedside. What do you guys think of this setup? Here is the stance I would really like to achieve.

If I were to put the Fox Coilovers on a leveling kit I would have to keep them at 0" lift? What if my plan was to have the front up about about 4.5-5.5". At 4.5" could I swap the 3.5" for a 2.5" leveling and keep the coilovers at 2", or keep the 3.5" and keep it at 2"? Either way leaving the rear at 4" lift. Would this be possible or would I have to purchase a longer than standard coilover for the front?

A few thoughts... Coilover shocks that offer "lift" adjustability do so at the expense of ride quality. Regardless of the adjustment, the shock is the same length extended and compressed and therefore offers the same amount of travel. What you are adjusting to achieve a particular ride height with the same shock is the spring preload. If you heavily preload the spring by turning the adjuster all the way up, what you are doing is forcing the shock and therefore the suspension to ride at or near its maximum extension, and also increasing the amount of force required to start compressing the suspension when hitting a bump. This leaves you with very little down travel at normal ride height, which will make the suspension feel very harsh for things like potholes where you would normally like the wheel to be able to move downward without affecting the movement of the body. You want to set the spring preload so that at rest, the suspension is somewhere around 30% compressed, give or take a bit. This gives you some available downward travel along with adequate compression bump travel to achieve an overall balanced ride quality through a variety of normal terrain. Special purpose setups can vary from this significantly, as seen in short course track racers where they deal with a lot of smooth tracks with large ramp style jumps where a lot of downward travel is optimum to let the suspension extend over a jump and make for a smooth landing. Desert racers are set up quite differently and usually at higher ride heights since they need to deal with a much wider variety of terrain that requires balanced up and down travel. All that said, if you want 3" of "lift", I would not buy a nice Fox or King coilover and expect to crank the adjusters all the way up. Plan to set them up with a more balanced spring preload and use spacers to achieve whatever lift stance you're looking for. The only caveat is that you also need to be aware of the maximum extension of the entire system with respect to the metal stops between the frame and control arms. Longer travel setups will often remove the factory stops and depend on the shock to limit travel, or better yet use a limiting strap to avoid harsh metal to metal contact. Just my $0.02. Crawling back under my rock now. ;-)  

So i just put in Zone uca's and gained more droop from my levelled truck. Now it feels way better on forest service roads and the current coilers are no longer jammed in creating the stiff ride. The question I have is..... How do I know what size King or Fox coilovers to buy? The Fox website has sizes ranging from 8" to 16". Do I measure the travel I have at the moment and go off that or can I get greedy and go for more? Also would taking out the levelling kit/spacers and adding a larger shock be the way to go? Say current shock is 8" + 2" level kit is the same room as 10" Fox? Thanks in advance.

I currently have a 2003 Silverado it's 2wd and it has a 3" lift with 2" blocks in the back. I want to build a nice daily with a mid travel set up. I wanted to know what y'all would recommend so I can do it the right way. Like what uca should I get? What diameter shocks? Should I replace the block with more leaf spring? What brands would you recommend? Thanks for the help

These leaf spring axle perches are CNC laser cut and formed to fit 3″ OD or 3.5″ OD axle tubing. We also have a version specific for 2007-2014 Toyota Tundras since the leaf springs are angled on the axle housing. They are 2.5″ wide and 6″ long for reduced axle wrap. The centering pin hole is 9/16″. These are a perfect compliment to our Camburg rear end housing or for spring-under conversions.

ReadyLIFT Silverado and Sierra 4x4 Mid Travel Kit # 44-3003

The ReadyLIFT Off Road Suspension # 44-3003 Mid Travel System is designed for use on 2007-2013 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500 series 4x4 trucks. This Extended Travel Suspension Kit was engineered, tested and developed to be the first fully functioning mid travel suspension system that will work with your 4WD 2007-2013 GM 1500 truck! Imagine 12" of full suspension travel while in 4WD! If you want to keep up with your Raptor buddies this is the kit for you! Having 12" inches of usable suspension travel while operating in 4wd has been unheard of in a consumer vehicle until now!

The ReadyLift 44-3003 Mid Travel kit will increase your front track width by 2.50" on each side. The total amount of track width increase will vary depending upon the wheel back space that is used. Increasing the wheel track width helps to enhance stability and suspension performance over most terrains. To accommodate the increased travel and track width ReadyLift had to develop custom Heavy Duty CV axles that replace the factory version. The ReadyLift axles are designed specifically for use with this mid travel kit and are a direct bolt on item. The axles can safely operated at the full range of suspension travel even under the most extreme of conditions!

ReadyLift also includes their machined 6061-T6 billet aluminum differential drop brackets. When raising the front suspension lift height the differential is lowered to help maintain safe front axle and CV operating angles. Readylift engineered this differential drop system to help cut installation time in half compared to other similar kits. Unlike other differential drop brackets made from steel plate that bend and can cause CV failure, ReadyLift CNC-machined brackets cannot ever bend, break or cause any driveline problems when using 4WD mode. That is guaranteed by ReadyLift! Accompanying the patent pending differential drop brackets is a thick powdercoated plate steel skid plate that utilizes the factory attachment locations for ease of installation while providing tough differential protection when off roading.
