Blink-182 Can’t Stop Touring: Band Details Summer 2024 Shows

  • By Jon Blistein

Jon Blistein

Blink-182 will keep the big reunion party going into next year, announcing another massive North American tour for summer 2024.

The run will kick off June 20 at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida, with dates scheduled through Aug. 15 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. Blink-182 will primarily play arenas during the run, though there will be a few special stadium gigs in Los Angeles, New York, Boston, Toronto, and the band’s hometown of San Diego. Pierce the Veil will provide support throughout the tour, while Alexisonfire will join the bill just for the final gig in Toronto.

Tickets for all shows will go on sale Oct. 27 at 10 a.m. local time. Full info is available on Blink-182’s website .

Along with the reunion tour, Blink-182 released a new album, One More Time , last Friday, Oct. 20. The LP marks the first from Hoppus, DeLonge, and Barker since 2011’s Neighborhoods . After DeLonge left the group in 2015, he was replaced by Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba, who appeared on two albums, 2016’s California and 2019’s Nine .

In a recent interview with Zane Lowe , Hoppus and DeLonge opened up about their acrimonious 2015 splits with both admitting they weren’t sure they’d ever play together again. That changed after Hoppus was diagnosed with cancer in 2021 — a traumatic but clarifying event not unlike the 2008 plane crash that nearly killed Barker.

LIL WAYNE cancelled just hours before the show (rolling my eyes) so needless to say happy we showed up at 9pm because instead of lil wayne the fans were entertained by music mashups of rock and rap (crappy mix ups by the way) and music by the backstreet boys or n sync not sure which boy band it was but i was super annoyed when i heard the near sold out crowd singing along of "i want it that way" really crappy song but all these idiots were singing along like it was 6th grade but on to the positive blink 182 put on a great set for a whole 60 minutes yep 1 hour started at 9:30 was done by 10:30 great set pyro, smoke, cool video stage set up NO TOM DELONGE some new guy not his fault he played great but it wasnt teb same he didnt really sound like TOM so it was like blink 182 karaoke for some of the songs and the short set time I mean shit lil wayne doesnt show these guys could have saved the day and played longer but in typical rock star fashion they charged full price for tickets delivered half of a show and a short set disapointed much ? YEAH I WAS hate to say it but I mean it wasnt a 20 dollar ticket here tickets were not cheap but the amount of entertainment vs the amount paid for the ticket was not EQUAL felt pretty ripped off as a whole save your money this go round NOT WORTH THE CASH plus we drove 4 hours to go to this show so a few hundred dollars later we got and hour of a headliner entertainment hell KISS are 70 years old and played for 2 and a half hours the tickets were pricey but hell they were showmen and lots of fire, pyro, smoke, fireworks, ect stunts elevating risers ect so you tell me if its worth it to go see 40 year old entitled punks vs 70 year old vets who are doing a cash grab no doubt but are still delivering an experirience

Show exceeded expectations and was THRILLED we didn't have to listen to Lil Wayne - bonus. Thanks to St. Louis for helping to move him on his way to the next venue. Loved hearing Enema of the State in its entirety. Wish they had included Always but the other added songs were great as well. I thought Matt sounded great and thoroughly enjoyed a couple of the songs from California and NINE. Sad no encore but had a total blast singing along and dancing. Super charged stage show and Travis' drum solo was amazing but never long enough for me! (I'm sure plenty long for him - what a work out!) Neck Deep also put on a great performance. They are a GREAT opening act for Bink. Thanks for the show - and long lasting memories.

Blink 182 has been my favorite band as a kid back in ‘96 when I first heard of them and will always be. I finally got to see them live for the first tine ever in 2016, 20 years later because they came close to my hometown in Greenville, SC. Then about 3 months later to my actual hometown in Charleston, SC. I was close to the middle up front and had the time of my life. I thank the whole band for making one person’s dream come true just to see you live. I’ve always wanted to meet Mark and Travis!! I was so like it’s cool when Mark tried to throw me a pick but it landed short and he apologized and he Ent on with the show. But my heart filled up with joy when, in my opinion, the greatest drummer in the whole universe, Travis Barker!!!!, acknowledged me when I gave him a thumbs up. Wish I could meet and talk to then!! A dream for a lifetime. Blink 182 you will always be number 1 to me and hold a special place in my heart as you do to millions of fans!! Love you all and can’t wait for the bext album!! Including Mark’s new band aka The Side Piece. Mark if you ever read this’ please don’t take offense to the comment. Blink 4 Life!! Peace...

Blink-182 Reunite for 2023 Tour: Concert Dates, Venues, Plus New Single

Blink-182 has announced the band's first tour since 2015, revealing the good news to fans via YouTube on October 11.

Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker and Tom Delonge will be reuniting for the tour, the trio previously went on tour together in 2015 shortly before DeLonge left the group.

Here is everything you need to know about the tour.

Blink-182 Reunite for 2023 Tour: Concert Dates, Venues Plus New Single

Blink-182

Blink-182 formed in 1992, with the band skyrocketing to fame in the late 90s and early 2000s with hit songs like What's My Age Again? and All the Small Things.

The punk rock band went on an indefinite hiatus in 2005, with Hoppus and Barker starting the new band +44 and DeLonge forming the band Angels & Airwaves.

In 2009, the trio got back together and embarked on a reunion tour, and they also started recording music together again up until DeLonge's exit in 2015. Alkaline Trio's Matt Skiba replaced DeLonge in the following years.

In June 2021, Hoppus announced that he had been diagnosed with cancer and that he was receiving treatment, and in September he confirmed he had been declared cancer free.

The group will be heading on an extended tour from March 2023 to early 2024, and the world tour will see them perform in Latin America, North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Tickets for the tour go on sale at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 17 at blink182.com.

During their tour, the band will be supported by Wallows in Latin America, Turnstile in North America, Rise Against in Australia and New Zealand, and The Story So Far in the UK and Europe.

As well as announcing the tour, the band also revealed that they would be releasing a new album, and a new single titled Edging will drop on Friday, October 14.

blink-182 World Tour Review: The Boys Prove We Can’t Do What They Do At BMO Stadium

Pop-punk legends blink-182 have been making 2023 their year, with a sold-out world tour, in what could be the band’s most successful tour in quite a while. Making their home show leading into the hot summer season at Los Angeles’ BMO Stadium was the perfect way to welcome in a summer of reckless abandon.

The venue, which can hold around 20k+, was filled with die-hard fans, almost all exclusively rocking the Target-sold smiley logo t-shirt. Fans who made the trip to BMO Stadium a little early were treated to blink-182’s soundcheck, which induced the hype meter into the sun-glared evening.

Signs around the venue featuring Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus, and Travis Barker would wrap around the open-air stadium giving fans tons of photo opportunities while also getting early merch purchases out of the way. The perfect way to pick up your show merch, depending on your parking location, is just a quick trip back to the car, where you can drop off your goodies you might not want to hold for hours on end.

It didn’t take long before doors would open at 6 PM, and the long crowds would twist and turn passed the ticketing scanners towards inside merch tables, alcohol, and the mad dash to locate seats. Continuing the quick pace, it wasn’t long before our first taste of live music in the form of the fierce California natives, Destroy Boys, would take the stage to a great sea of concertgoers ready to get the show going.

destroy boys blink 182 world tour bmo stadium review june 16

Destroy Boys proved on June 16 why they continue to be a band to keep your eye on as they powered through their short set filled with high-energy, loud screams, owning the stage in the process transforming blink-182’s stage into their own, a perspective I could see for the band in a few years.

The only issue I’d say Destroy Boys encountered, at least as far as seated fans were concerned, is that, at times, vocals between Alexia Roditis and Violet Mayugba would get lost in the background of the band’s instrumentals, which sounded phenomenal.

However, when everything was in sync for Destroy Boys, the punk outfit was exceptional, and I became an instant fan, looking forward to my next time experiencing the energy the group leaves on stage.

The members of Destroy Boys would quickly leave the stage, leaving the crowd anxious for more and more, in this instance was, even more, high-energy antics, this time the drug being the powerhouse scope of Turnstile.

turnstile blink 182 world tour bmo stadium review june 16

I’ll be quite honest, I gave Turnstile quite a few play-throughs before heading out to BMO Stadium, and for whatever reason, their style of music never clicked in my brain as something I could see myself enjoying. It was pretty weird because a younger version of myself would be all over them.

But, those notions I had about Turnstile and their nostalgia-fueled style of punk would change the deeper we ventured into their crazy energy-filled set. Around their third song, I found myself hyped, jumping around like a madman, and attempting to sing back what I was hearing. In less than 10 minutes, I became a fan of Turnstile, as their brand of music truly reflects greatness in a live setting.

And now, while I’m writing up my thoughts in this show review, I have a variety of Turnstile songs playing in the background. Needless to say, one can really become a fan of someone just by their stage presence, and that’s something Turnstile has that many do not.

The crowd that grew increasingly more anxious for blink-182 to take the stage found themselves lost in the blur of Turnstile as pits opened up, phones were raised in the sky, and the band quickly showcased themselves as a heavy hitter in the space and, just like Destroy Boys, I found myself excited for the next time I would see this massive band in the making during a live experience.

blink 182 world tour bmo stadium june 16

9 PM came along swinging, as the lights throughout BMO Stadium once again shut off, and with a sea of screaming fans, blink-182 slowly took to the stage with their trademark smiley logo welcoming the occasion behind them.

Kicking things off with a blaze, blink-182 would start things off with “Anthem Part Two,” which got the entire venue on their feet as fans created small mosh pits with their friends and family in the seats while the sea of screaming voices on the floor created their own unique experience in the presence of these legends of the genre.

Bouncing between their hits, “The Rock Show,” “Family Reunion,” and “Man Overboard,” I quickly knew this was the best I’d seen blink-182 since their 2013 anniversary shows for their Untitled album. The energy between bassist Mark Hoppus and guitarist Tom DeLonge was top-notch, not once missing a beat, and in blink fashion BMO Stadium also got to enjoy the orgasmic tones of Travis Barker.

What makes the dynamic between Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge unique is knowing how long they have been friends, as jokes between the two land perfectly, even a few that had DeLonge cringe just a bit, which I never thought I’d see.

blink 182 world tour bmo stadium enema of the state june 16

The highlight of the night for me was hearing Tom DeLonge tackle the few Matt Skiba era songs the band has had in their setlist, including “Bored To Death” and “Cynical,” which DeLonge makes his own, and simply put, crushes! Hopefully, blink-182 will expand on the Skiba-era songs they include in future setlists, as there are quite a few songs I believe DeLonge could master with ease.

Regarding Neighborhoods , the tracks featured on the setlist, “Up All Night” and “Ghost on the Dance Floor,” exceeded expectations. Having heard many of these songs live before numerous times, I’ll keep saying it; this was the best I’d heard the band since their original breakup back in 2003.

The entire performance was organic, never once felt forced, and as others have mentioned, it seems like Tom DeLonge is very excited about this era of blink-182. It’s a refreshing take that couples lovingly with the optimistic outlook that Mark Hoppus brings to the band.

Alongside their usual onslaught of hits, fans seemed to connect with the group’s latest single, “Edging,” as the stadium further erupted in sing-along. The connection between blink-182 and their fans would continue as the night would come to a close with the loving sentiment that was shared between Travis Barker and his wife, Kourtney Kardashian, as the media personality would go on to reveal her pregnancy to the blink-182 drummer in a parody of one of the band’s memorable music videos.

blink 182 world tour bmo stadium fog june 16

Everything from Destroy Boys to Turnstile and finally blink-182, the BMO Stadium performance should go down as one of the best blink-182 performances in recent memory, which isn’t saying much as the band has consistently been killing it throughout their 2023/2024 world tour.

High ticket prices aside, this is a blink-182 tour fans of the band do not want to miss. Everything from the on-stage banter to the setlist and the overall atmosphere between the three members was pure magic, and I already want to drop another stack of cash to see them again.

Review: Neil Young & Crazy Horse strike heart of gold at tour-opening San Diego concert

Neil Young performing at SDSU on April 24, 2024.

The concert began with an epic, 15-minute version of ‘Cortez The Killer’ that featured extra lyrics recently unearthed by Young. Guitarist-singer Micah Nelson, Willie’s son, very ably assumed the role in Crazy Horse of Nils Lofgren, now on tour with Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band.

When Neil Young sang “rock and roll will never die” near the conclusion of his tour-opening LOVE EARTH concert with Crazy Horse Wednesday in San Diego, you believed him.

Those words, from his 1978 song, “Hey Hey My My (Into the Black),” sounded like a defiant vow in the face of possible obsolescence 46 years ago. Now, they are a statement of fact from a proud maverick who sounds more committed than ever, even — or, rather, especially — at a time when rock is increasingly becoming a niche genre pushed aside by formulaic pop, hip-hop and dance-music.

At 78, Young remains a staunch keeper of the flame whose passion for music burns as bright as ever. If anyone thinks this veteran singer, songwriter and guitarist is ready to kick back in his old age, he and his band immediately and convincingly refuted such notions with their powerful, nearly two-hour performance at SDSU’s Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre. (They are set to perform a second sold-out show at the same venue Thursday night.)

Young and his three-man band opened with “Cortez the Killer,” an epic number from their 1975 album, “Zuma.” But this was no sentimental journey down nostalgia lane, nor was it a tentative, shake-off-the-dust run through.

Their carefully calibrated version of “Cortez” built to a series of powerful climaxes Monday and lasted 15 minutes — nearly twice as long as the original on “Zuma.” The song began with an opening guitar jam that lasted 7 minutes before Young’s reedy vocals commenced. For good measure, near the conclusion of “Cortez,” he sang — for the first time anywhere in concert — a missing verse he recently came upon that had been cut from the 1975 recording.

The unearthed lyrics provided additional depth and a palpable sense of despair to Young’s tour de force song about Hernán Cortez, the bloody Spanish conqueror of Mexico’s Aztec Empire: I floated on the water / I ate that ocean wave / Two weeks after the slaughter / I was living in a cave / They came too late to get me / But there’s no one here to set me free / From this rocky grave / To that snowed-out ocean wave.

The next selection was the buoyant “Cinnamon Girl,” a choice cut from 1969’s “Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere,” the first album Young and Crazy Horse made together. It clocked in at a crisp three minutes.

Neil Young & Crazy Horse performed at the Open Air Theatre at San Diego State April 24, 2024.

The rest of the concert included several other extended jams, with “Down by the River” and “Love and Only Love” both clocking in at a glorious 16 minutes (but not lasting one second too long). Conversely, Young’s tender solo acoustic versions of “Comes a Time,” “Heart of Gold” and “Human Highway” were each delivered with admirable concision.

The manner in which he alternated between longer and shorter selections served as a master class on how to pace a concert to build momentum and achieve maximum dynamic tension and release.

The final encore was an eight-minute rendition of “My My Hey Hey (Into the Black),” whose line There’s more to the picture than meets the eye could be a synopsis of Young’s career and his dogged determination to do things his way, every time, no matter what the trends of the day may be.

At SDSU, Young and his longtime Crazy Horse compadres — bassist/singer Billy Talbot and drummer Ralph Molina, both 80 — were focused and in sync from start to finish. They were joined by guitarist/singer Micah Nelson, 33, who on Monday had played a key role accompanying his father, Willie Nelson, at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park.

Willie Nelson performs at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park on Monday, April 22, 2024.

Review: Willie Nelson’s San Diego concert defined, not defied, the passing of time. He turns 91 on April 29.

The American music-master and his band warmed up a damp, cool evening at The Shell. David Sanger, the drummer in opening act Asleep At The Wheel, took the ferry back to his family’s home in Coronado after the show.

April 23, 2024

Micah Nelson was performing in place of Crazy Horse charter member Nils Lofgren, who is now on tour in The E Street Band with his other longtime employer, Bruce Springsteen. Those are big shoes to fill, but Nelson was so in sync with Young you’d think they had been musical partners for decades.

The stage was bedecked with the giant, faux Fender guitar amplifiers, speaker cabinets and road cases Young and Crazy Horse used on their 1978 Rust Never Sleeps tour. There were no video screens on the stage, the better for the audience — which included basketball great Bill Walton and Las Vegas Raiders NFL team owner Mark Davis — to focus completely on the music at hand.

The SDSU concert — the start of Young and Crazy Horse’s first major tour together in a decade — came a year after Young’s mesmerizing solo concert here at The Shell. Wednesday’s performance was even more mesmerizing, in large part because of the musical empathy between the four musicians.

Review: Neil Young delivered singular San Diego solo concert by digging deep for new/old musical gold

The two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee performed his first San Diego solo concert in 31 years, mixing classics with deep, deep album cuts

July 12, 2023

When they locked into a groove, which was often, they seemed to be of one mind. And it’s difficult to think of any other rock band of any vintage that can gain as much traction from so many slow-paced songs.

With few exceptions, Young’s biting guitar solos contained a minimum of notes, but he made each one count, repeatedly going into a zone where feeling and intensity trump quantity. Or, to invoke the title of Young’s 1988 album: “This Note’s For You.”

Apart from a heartfelt spoken tribute to the late David Briggs — the producer of many of Young’s albums with (and without) Crazy Horse — Young’s comments to the audience were along the lines of: “Thank you” and “How ya doin’?”

Otherwise, he let his music speak for him, and it spoke volumes.

| World Cup 2018 Moscow

With a population of as many as 15 million, making it among the largest cities on Earth, and a place where bars, restaurants, supermarkets, and traffic jams run 24 hours a day, Moscow is a pretty full-on experience for first-time visitors. The Russian capital is a riotous metropolis where Orthodox churches vie for attention alongside neon-drenched skyscrapers straight out of Blade Runner . Embrace the madness, load up on caffeine, and maybe pack a pair of earplugs.

The One Must-See Thing

Every Tom, Dick, and Harry is going to pitch up at Red Square this summer, to gawp at Lenin’s embalmed corpse in his mausoleum and then bag a selfie in front of the onion domes of St Basil’s Cathedral. For something a little more off the beaten path, check out the Fallen Monument Park , the final resting place for hundreds of statues of stern-looking Soviet apparatchiks that were removed from public spaces following the collapse of the USSR.

The Stadium

The 81,000-seat Luzhniki national stadium, built originally for the 1980 Olympics, has been completely renovated in the lead-up to the World Cup, removing the old running track, which is great for sight lines, but does mean any flares and firecrackers thrown by fans may actually end up on the field.

Spartak Stadium, Moscow’s second venue, opened in 2014, and though around half the size of Luzhniki, it’s regarded as one of the best-equipped and most atmospheric arenas in Russia.

Where to Watch

John Donne on Nikitsky Bulvar is about as close to an English pub as you can get in Russia. Go for the faint smell of stale Newcastle Brown ale, the tattooed barmen, and the soccer-loving crowd that regularly gathers there for live matches.
