Top Ten Jobs If You Love To Travel

(10) Flight attendant

It may be the most obvious travel-related job, but it’s also one of the most accessible: You don’t need a specialized degree to become a flight attendant, and most major airlines only require prior customer service experience and a certification from the Federal Aviation Administration. The hours are frequently erratic, and the work isn’t always easy, but you’ll get a glimpse of hundreds of cities across the globe during your career. A bonus perk? Free or discounted flights for you and your family.

(9) International aid worker

If you want to travel for a living while making a real difference in people’s lives, consider working for an international aid organization like USAID. With this job, you can visit struggling countries and help its residents recover from dire situations such as natural disasters and famine. You’ll need a background in a field like health, agriculture or education and a strong interest in social work, according to How Stuff Works.

(8)Exploration geologist

Exploration geologists help resource extraction companies identify the most profitable places from which to extract natural resources. Since extraction tends to happen in places that aren’t very well-populated, exploration geologists get to travel to some of the most remote regions of the world, and can be away from home for months at a time.

(7)Cruise line worker

Working on a cruise ship is a travel lover’s dream gig: You quite literally make a living traveling the world, all while receiving free food and accommodations. Whether you’re a restaurant server, a shop clerk or a performer in the cruise’s entertainment lineup, there are opportunities for individuals of all backgrounds to work on one of these “floating resorts.” Websites like Cruise Line Jobs list employment openings with some of the top-rated cruise lines.

(6)Travel tour guide

Imagine spending your days guiding fellow travel lovers through a bustling European metropolis, or perhaps a small local village is more your speed. Wherever you want to go, popular travel destinations are always in need of friendly, knowledgeable guides to lead tourists through city sights and cultural excursions. Study up on the history and culture of your city of choice, and don’t forget to brush up on the local language!

(5)Archaeologist

Archaeologists travel the world to recover and preserve artifacts from past human cultures. Careers in archaeology require frequent travel, often to remote regions of the earth.

A benefit of speaking one of the world’s most popular languages is that there are people all over the world who want to learn it. Teaching English in a foreign country is one of the easiest ways to get out and see the world. Many teaching positions in foreign countries do require a certification, but you can easily get one in about a month’s time.

(3)Executive assistant

It may not be the most glamorous of jobs, but playing a behind-the-scenes role in the life of a corporate executive or other high-powered professional means you’ll be right alongside your boss on his or her business trips. Since individuals in these positions travel quite frequently for important client meetings, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to see new places while you work.

(2) Oceanographer If you love traveling by sea and have a passion for learning more about it, then there is probably no better career for you than that of an oceanographer. Oceanographers often split their time between laboratories and research ships, where they can spend months away from home visiting remote regions of the ocean.

(1) International Marriage Broker Tour Leader.

If you love to travel and are single this is absolutely the best job you can imagine. International Marriage Brokers travels the world holding single events in some of the most beautiful places on earth. Each week companies like A Foreign Affair travel to exotic locations in Eastern Europe, Asian and Latin America. Business men and professionals travel in groups where they will attend single events that A Foreign Affair call socials, at these social events the men will meet 500 to 1000 beautiful single women and models. The tours consists of social, dating and site seeing, all while interacting with dozens of men and women falling in love.

Visa-free transit through Chengdu Tianfu airport in 2023??

Has anyone successfully flown through Chengdu's new Tianfu airport in 2023 without a visa? (There's something called the 144-hour visa-free transit policy)

I'm planning a trip with a 50-hour layover in Chengdu. After extensive online research, there is contradictory information and no recent information from official government sources. It seems that the 144-hour visa free transit policy does apply to TFU as of March '23, but I want to make sure. If anyone has done this in 2023 p ...

Yangshuo: Most Beautiful Mountains in China?

I recently spent a month travelling around China and an absolute highlight was my 5 days in Yangshuo. The mountains and the river are absolutely stunning. I couldn't find any detailed video travel guides online, so I decided to put one together myself. I travelled as a backpacker, so I've covered hostel prices, getting around and the best things to do (including how to get up to the infamous TV Tower viewpoint). If you are interested, I'll leave the link here. Hopefully somebody will find ...

China Tour Options

Hi, we are looking at a trip to China in August. Came across this crowd offering a package https://www.euroventure.com/china-and-hong-kong-group-tour-25-days/ Reason we are looking at organised tours is a good few people we spoke to recently said they found it difficult to organise and arrange travel within China and found locals to be standoffish and unhelpful. But we still want to go and see it all for ourselves. Does anyone have any experience or recommendations for group/organised tours ...

1 month stay in china.. help

Hey. I'm looking for a city in China to live in for a month.. I don't really like moving around too much. I prefer to get somewhat integrated into the areas I'm living for a while. I was thinking about Lijiang or Chengdu ? I hear Lijiang is a little expensive though, I travel long term so I'd rathe ...

Hi there, I was looking for some advice about my upcoming trip to China. I am going to Japan for 2 weeks January 18th and plan to leave sometime in early February. I have read in many guide books and heard it would be best to travel China in March. This way I could avoid any left-over New Year scramble and get some better/warmer weather. • China launches 504-qubit quantum chip, open to global users

china travel forum

HEFEI -- The Center for Excellence in Quantum Information and Quantum Physics under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) has delivered a 504-qubit superconducting quantum computing chip to QuantumCTek Co., Ltd., a leading quantum company based in east China's Anhui Province, setting a record for the number of qubits in a superconducting quantum chip in China, QuantumCTek said on Thursday.

The chip, "Xiaohong," is used to verify the kilo-qubit measurement and control system independently developed by the company, according to QuantumCTek.

The measurement and control system and the quantum computing chip are the core hardware of quantum computers, and the measurement and control system will greatly influence the overall performance of quantum computers, said Liang Futian, an associate professor at the center.

Liang said that the chip's key indicators, including the lifetime of its qubits, its gate fidelity and the depth of its quantum circuit, are expected to reach the chip performance levels of main international cloud-enabled quantum computing platforms such as IBM.

Gong Ming, a researcher at the center, said that the main purpose of the chip is to promote the development of large-scale quantum computing measurement and control systems, rather than to aim for higher computing power and quantum supremacy.

"Jiuzhang 2.0," which has 113 detected photons, and the "Zuchongzhi 2.1" 66-qubit programmable superconducting quantum computing systems developed by Chinese scientists in 2021, have made China the only country to achieve a quantum computational advantage through two mainstream technical routes: one via photonics quantum computing technology, and the other via superconducting quantum computing technology.

Wang Zhen, deputy general manager of China Telecom Quantum Group, a quantum computing company with investment from China Telecom, said that the company will cooperate with QuantumCTek to develop a quantum computer with the new "Xiaohong" chip, which global users will have access to through a quantum computing cloud platform developed by China Telecom Quantum Group.

"It will allow users in various fields to conduct research on problems and algorithms of practical value efficiently, and accelerate the application of quantum computing in actual scenarios," Wang said.

China will hold the first space cooperation forum with Latin American and Caribbean countries during the upcoming Space Day of China, which falls on April 24, the China National Space Administration (CNSA) announced on Wednesday.

The China-Latin America and the Caribbean Space Cooperation Forum, co-hosted by the CNSA, China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Hubei's provincial government, will be held in Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province, from April 24 to 26, said Lyu Bo, deputy director of the Department of System Engineering at the CNSA, at a press conference in Beijing.

The forum will include the opening ceremony, the main forum and four sub-forums concerning space infrastructure's contribution to sustainable social and economic development, deep space exploration and space science, innovative development of the space industry chain, and global governance and capacity building in outer space, he added.

Nearly 90 delegates from 24 countries and eight international organizations, including government officials, as well as industry, research entities and private sector representatives, will attend the forum.

According to Lyu, a series of events, including a China Space Conference, China Space Culture and Art Forum, and a space science popularization exhibition, will be held in Wuhan to celebrate the Space Day of China.

Officials, academicians and experts from governmental entities, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, universities and space enterprises, as well as foreign guests from 50 countries and regions and international organizations, will participate in those events.

Besides the events in Wuhan, about 500 activities, such as space open day, popular science lectures, knowledge contests, exchanges and discussions, will be held across the country.

Starting in 2016, China chose April 24 as the Space Day of China to mark the launch of its first satellite " Dongfanghong-1 " into space on April 24, 1970.

  • Int'l travel expo unveiled in Macao for tourism business opportunities

MACAO, April 26 (Xinhua) -- The 12th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo (MITE) kicked off Friday at the Cotai Expo in Macao on the largest scale since its first edition.

The tourism office of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) government noted that this year's MITE expanded from two exhibition halls in the previous session to three, totaling 30,000 square meters, with 1,353 booths set up. It has attracted 668 exhibitors and units from 54 countries and regions.

Lei Wai Nong, secretary for economy and finance of the Macao SAR government, remarked in his speech that this edition of the expo expanded its exhibition area to accommodate seven major highlights, which will attract more exhibitors and buyers from both domestic and international markets to exchange and explore business opportunities.

China's Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism Zhang Zheng noted in his speech that since its inauguration, MITE has steadily developed into a tourism platform that connects Macao, the mainland, and international markets.

Over 40 product and destination presentations, forums, and other activities will be held during the expo, and the daily opening hours have also been extended by one hour compared to last year.

Organized by the tourism office of the Macao SAR government and coordinated by the Macao Travel Agency Association, the expo will last till Sunday. Enditem
