Since emerging in the early 1990s, Christian reggae group Christafari has released over two-dozen albums which combine gospel messages with the rhythms of reggae music. Led by Pastor Mark Mohr, a former Rastafarian who converted to Christianity, the band rose to prominence in the latter half of the '90s with a series of successful albums for the Gotee label. After this, Mohr founded his own imprint, Lion of Zion, which continued to release Christafari's music over the subsequent decades. Along the way, they have branched out to release dub, Spanish-language, and even Christmas albums while sending releases like 2012's Reggae Worship: A Roots Revival and 2018's Original Love to the top of Billboard's Reggae Albums chart. They began the next decade with 2021's Under God.

According to Wikipedia,

John Mark McMillan (born November 27, 1979) is an American singer, songwriter, and musician within the Christian music industry. In 2002, he released his debut album Hope Anthology, Volume 1. In 2005 he released The Song Inside: The Sounds of Breaking Down, which included the track "How He Loves." The song was successful despite the album's independent release and has been covered by several well-known artists within the Christian music industry including the David Crowder Band.

He is married to Sarah Kathryn McMillan (née Williams) from Vidalia, Georgia. They have three children.

This song echoes a similar message to what is found in Psalm 86:9-10 , which says that God alone is great, and that all nations shall praise Him, and that indeed, He does marvelous things.

6. Truth I’m Standing On – Leanna Crawford

Fear can be consuming and can cause someone to wonder if God has forsaken them. Fear is something the enemy uses to distract believers from Jesus and the plans He has. This song reminds listeners that we do not have to be fearful when the world around us is scary and chaotic because the God who parts the sea and does wonderous miracles will make a way for us. We can stand on His truth and promises.

Scripture declares that we do not have to be afraid or dismayed because God will give us strength and support us in all things (see Isaiah 41:10 ).

7. Brighter Days – Blessing Offor

We hear in this song a sweet and needed reminder that better days are ahead. We can trust the Lord to have mercy on us. He will fulfill his promise that He has good plans for believers – giving us a hope and a future (see Jeremiah 29:11 ).

Trust Jesus for the better days ahead. Trust Him for those good and hopeful future plans. God is with his children in their darkest moments and will lead them to brighter days.

8. Fake It – Tauren Wells

This upbeat praise song brings a positive message that God’s love is what we are all searching for and need! God’s love is the real deal and will completely transform those who follow Jesus as their Lord and Savior. When we have faith in God, the old washes away and we are new men and women through Christ ( 2 Corinthians 5:17 ).

God loves unconditionally, accepts all who come to Him, and His love will change a person from the inside out. God’s love motivates us to be real, stop chasing after worldly pleasures, and to put our faith in God alone.

9. Too Good Not to Believe – Brandon Lake

The message behind this song is that there is nothing God cannot do. Christians can sometimes get so caught up in the day-to-day of life that they forget what God can do. This song conveys that God is still in the business of miracles, goodness, and power. He has all authority! Jesus said we would see greater things than even He had done (see John 14:12 ).

We serve a God who still sees us, who still works miracles, and is still in control of everything. Truly, God is too good not to believe in Him.

10. Jesus Is Coming Back – Jordan Feliz

Before Jesus went to the cross , He taught that he would one day return (see Matthew 24:42 ). This song celebrates the promise of Jesus’ return. Jesus is coming back, and believers need to be ready and can get excited for His return. We will not know the day nor the hour, but His return is guaranteed. What a glorious day that will be.

We find encouragement in this promise when life is tough or looks bleak because we have an eternity ahead with God.

11. In Jesus’ Name – Katy Nichole

There is power in the name of the Lord. This song is a prayer declaring victory, healing, revival, restoration, and breakthrough in the name of Jesus. For Scripture teaches that only by the name of Jesus is someone saved (see Romans 10:13 ). There is power in the name of Jesus.

Worshippers can turn this song into their own cries and prayers for victory and help through the name of Jesus. We are empowered to speak the name of Jesus over our hearts, lives, and situations.

12. Kingdom Come – Rebecca St. James ft. For King and Country

This uplifting song calls for revival and the movement of the Spirit in individuals and communities around the world. Listeners find themselves praying the words Jesus said when He prayed that God’s kingdom would come and that His will would be done (see Matthew 6:10 ).

In humility, believers reach out to God in need of His Spirit to move in every heart and all over the world. We surrender to God’s will and work to further His kingdom.

13. Getting Started – Jeremy Camp

A heartwarming song about the light of Christ shining into lives, hearts, and making things new! Jesus said that His light shines in the darkness (see John 1:5 ). When life is tough, when the situation seems unchangeable, and when bad mistakes have been made, we can trust that Jesus’ light shines brighter than the dark situations we find ourselves in. He makes a way out and into freedom.

This optimistic song reminds believers to be free in Christ, and that God is working in us and through us.

14. Even at My Worst – Blanca

We can find encouragement and relief that God loves us unconditionally. Even when we have fallen short, Jesus loves us. Even while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (see Romans 5:8 ).

The comforting message in this song is that when a believer has made mistakes, we can trust in God’s saving grace and nothing we do is unforgiveable. Jesus came to save and redeem those who put their faith in Him. When you feel at your worst, remember how much God loves you!

15. What He’s Done – Passion

This is a moving and powerful song centered on the cross . We praise Jesus for going to the cross. Jesus took our place and paid the ransom so humanity would be free to know their Creator and enter into a saving relationship with Him. This song is a prayer of thanks and deep gratitude to Jesus for dying on the cross and rising from the grave.

It may seem foolish to the world that Jesus would give up His life, but it is the saving power of God (see 1 Corinthians 1:18 ). The cross means we are redeemed and those who place their faith in Jesus have a future in heaven.

Music brings together the body of Christ, and can help someone who is worried, doubting, or going through a tough season. Today we are featuring something a little different… 15 songs that take you to Africa. Songs that remind us of Africa and South Africa’s heritage, of films and of our dreams. Each one carries a positive message and we’ve kept the song choices groovy to ensure that you’ll want to sing along.

Amen! Christian music star Chris Tomlin bringing 'Holy Forever' tour to Canton in October

C ANTON − Contemporary Christian music star Chris Tomlin will bring his "Holy Forever" world tour to the Canton Memorial Civic Center on Oct. 25.

Tomlin follows other nationally touring entertainers who have performed at the Canton Memorial Civic Center in recent months, including country music artists Cole Swindell and most recently, Brantley Gilbert. Comedian Jeff Dunham performed at the venue this past Saturday before a sold-out crowd.

The 51-year-old singer-songwriter has scored No. 1 songs in the Christian music genre while selling more than 12 million albums and amassing 6.8 billion global streams. He's also received numerous Billboard Music Awards and Dove Awards while being recognized as an ASCAP Songwriter of the Year and BMI Songwriter of the Year, according to Tomlin's news release.

Hit song 'Holy Forever' tallies more than 140 million streams

The Grammy-nominated " Holy Forever " topped Billboard's streaming, airplay and sales-based Hot Christian Songs charts while tallying more than 140 million streams.

“I never could have imagined how quickly the song would connect with the church around the world," Tomlin says on his website.

Tomlin also has garnered millions of YouTube views for the songs "Nobody Loves Me Like You" and " Is He Worthy ?"

“Tomlin’s name has become synonymous with modern worship music, as the Texas native has issued songs that have evolved into music standards sung by church congregations around the world," Billboard said.

Tomlin is among only a handful of musical artists to receive the SoundExchange Digital Radio Award for more than 1 billion digital radio streams, joining Justin Timberlake, Pitbull and Garth Brooks, the news release said.

He's also the first Christian artist to reach a billion streams on the music streaming platform Pandora.

Canton Civic Center is only Ohio tour stop

The Grammy winner's tour includes stops in Nashville, Boston, St. Louis, Kansas City, Seattle and Anaheim, as well as Germany, England, Hungary and Ireland. Tomlin will be performing at arenas seating more than 10,000 people and up to nearly 20,000. The Canton Memorial Civic Center is among the the smaller venues on the tour, seating around 5,000.

The Canton concert will be on the second leg of Tomlin's tour, which includes shows in Phoenix, San Diego, Pittsburgh, Houston, Orlando, Chicago, Atlanta, Baltimore and Indianapolis. Opening acts on some stops will be CAIN and Tauren Wells .

Canton is Tomlin's only Ohio show on the tour.

Tickets start at $20 plus fees

Earlier this month, Tomlin released the album, "Live From Good Friday." In 2022, he released the studio album, "Always," which features "Holy Forever," as well as "Always," "I See You" and "O Lord, You're Beautiful."

Tomlin also recently released the book , "How Great is Our God: Living a Worship-Led Life in a Me-Driven World."

Tickets for Tomlin's Canton concert go on sale to the general public starting at 11 a.m. Thursday. Tickets range from $20 to $95 plus fees for the 7 p.m. event and also can be purchased from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays at the box office at the Civic Center, 1101 Market Ave. N.

Phil Kane, an 18-year-old college student, dreams of being the next winner of American Idol. For his audition , the singer-songwriter performed an original song for Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan.

The talented musician plays the piano while he sings the beautiful lyrics to “Osage County.” It’s clear from the first couple of lines of the tune that this song is very personal to him. He obviously has a ton of love for this hometown and the lessons that he learned while growing up in that area.

His original song was so easy to listen to, and his lyrics conjure images of a small town and Friday nights during high school football season. 

The judges are rightly blown away by Phil’s talent and his ability to tell a story clearly and concisely. 

“The moment you started playing the piano, your choices on the piano gave me chills,” Katy told the young man. And then the storytelling of your song—I believed every single word. It was just so real, and I really related to it.”

Lionel was also super complimentary of Phil.

“Honestly, that was dead on the money,” he said . We know who your character is. We know exactly what your sound is. What you just did was brilliant.”

After showering Phil with such high praise, it was an easy decision for all three judges to give him yes votes and send him on his way to Hollywood!

The young man has a bright future ahead of him in the music industry as a singer-songwriter.

Christian Nodal has caused a whirlwind on social media after sharing new photos of himself without his face tattoos on Tuesday (April 9).

On his Instagram account, the Mexican superstar is flaunting a brand-new look: mushroom haircut, black suit and, shockingly, a tat-free face. The heart, the number 11, the spiderweb and other tats — all gone. “If someone tells you that I became a jerk… tell them a jerk and a half,” he captioned the post in Spanish.

Meanwhile, on his Instagram broadcast channel, he also announced that he would be filming a new music video today and updated fans on his upcoming album. “I’ve been dedicating all my time to the album and the tour, planning everything […] and it’s coming out beautifully: the documentary, the music, the show. I’m doing everything possible so that next month we have new music […] this album is my work of art,” he said in a video message on the group chat.

“I remember when I started with tattoos or that I started to wear a different style of clothing, that my [music] videos were not the typical soap opera style, when I changed all that, doors opened for new talents and that’s pretty awesome,” he expressed.

What time the 2024 solar eclipse started, reached peak totality and ended

The 2024 solar eclipse will be visible across North America today. As the moon's position between the Earth and sun casts a shadow on North America, that shadow, or umbra, will travel along the surface from west to east at more than 1,500 miles per hour along the path of totality . 

That means the eclipse will start, peak and end at different times — as will the moments of total darkness along the path of totality — and the best time to view the eclipse depends on where you are located. Some places along the path will have more totality time than others.

In Texas, the south-central region had clouds in the forecast , but it was better to the northeast, according to the National Weather Service. The best eclipse viewing weather was expected in New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine, as well as in Canada's New Brunswick and Newfoundland.

What time does the 2024 total solar eclipse start?

The total solar eclipse will emerge over the South Pacific Ocean before the shadow falls across North America, beginning in parts of Mexico. The path of totality , where onlookers can witness the moon fully blocking the sun (through eclipse viewing glasses for safety ), is expected to first make landfall near the city of Mazatlán around 9:51 a.m. MT. 

The total solar eclipse will cross over the U.S.-Mexico border into Texas, where it will emerge over Eagle Pass at 12:10 p.m. CT and then peak at about 1:27 p.m. CT.

In Dallas, NASA data shows the partial eclipse will first become visible at 12:23 p.m. CT and peak at 1:40 p.m. CT. The next states in the path of totality are Oklahoma and Arkansas, where the eclipse begins in Little Rock at 12:33 p.m. CT. 

Cleveland will see the beginning of the eclipse at 1:59 p.m. ET. Darkness will start spreading over the sky in Buffalo, New York, at 2:04 p.m. ET. Then, the eclipse will reach northwestern Vermont, including Burlington, at 2:14 p.m. ET. Parts of New Hampshire and Maine will also follow in the path of totality before the eclipse first reaches the Canadian mainland  at 3:13 p.m. ET.

Although the experience won't be exactly the same, viewers in all the contiguous U.S. states outside the path of totality will still be able to see a partial eclipse. Some places will see most of the sun blocked by the moon, including Washington, D.C., where the partial eclipse will start at 2:04 p.m. ET and peak at about 3:20 p.m. ET.

In Chicago, viewers can start viewing the partial eclipse at 12:51 p.m. CT, with the peak arriving at 2:07 p.m. CT.  In Detroit, viewers will be able to enjoy a near-total eclipse beginning at 1:58 p.m. ET and peaking at 3:14 p.m. ET.

New York City will also see a substantial partial eclipse, beginning at 2:10 p.m. ET and peaking around 3:25 p.m. ET.

In Boston it will begin at 2:16 p.m. ET and peak at about 3:29 p.m. ET.

What time will the solar eclipse reach peak totality?

Millions more people will have the chance to witness the total solar eclipse this year than during the last total solar eclipse , which was visible from the U.S. in 2017. 

The eclipse's peak will mean something different for cities within the path of totality and for those outside. Within the path of totality, darkness will fall for a few minutes. The longest will last more than 4 minutes, but most places will see between 3.5 and 4 minutes of totality. In cities experiencing a partial eclipse, a percentage of the sun will be obscured for more than two hours.

Mazatlán is set to experience totality at 11:07 am PT. Dallas will be able to see the moon fully cover the sun at 1:40 p.m. CT. Little Rock will start to see the full eclipse at 1:51 p.m. CT, Cleveland at 3:13 p.m. ET and Buffalo at 3:18 p.m. ET. Totality will reach Burlington at 3:26 p.m. ET before moving into the remaining states and reaching Canada around 4:25 p.m.

Outside the path of totality, 87.4% of the sun will be eclipsed in Washington, D.C. at 3:20 p.m. ET, and Chicago will have maximum coverage of 93.9% at 2:07 p.m. CT. New York City is much closer to the path of totality this year than it was in 2017; it will see 89.6% coverage at 3:25 p.m. EDT. 

Detroit is another city that will encounter a near-total eclipse, with 99.2% maximum coverage at 3:14 p.m. ET. Boston will see 92.4% coverage at 3:29 p.m. ET.

What time will the solar eclipse end?

The eclipse will leave continental North America from Newfoundland, Canada, at 5:16 p.m. NT, according to NASA.

At the beginning of the path of totality in Mazatlán, the eclipse will be over by 12:32 p.m. PT, and it will leave Dallas at 3:02 p.m. CT. The eclipse will end in Little Rock at 3:11 p.m. CT, Cleveland at 4:29 p.m. CDT and Buffalo at 4:32 p.m. ET. Burlington won't be far behind, with the eclipse concluding at 4:37 p.m. ET.

Meanwhile, the viewing will end in Chicago at 3:21 p.m. CT, Washington, D.C. at 4:32 p.m. ET, and New York City at 4:36 p.m. ET. 

In Detroit, the partial eclipse will disappear at 4:27 p.m. ET, and in Boston, it will be over at 4:39 p.m. ET.

How long will the eclipse last in total?

The total solar eclipse will begin in Mexico at 11:07 a.m. PT and leave continental North America at 5:16 p.m. NT. From the time the partial eclipse first appears on Earth to its final glimpses before disappearing thousands of miles away, the celestial show will dazzle viewers for about 5 hours, according to timeanddate.com . 

The length of the total solar eclipse at points along the path depends on the viewing location. The longest will be 4 minutes and 28 seconds, northwest of Torreón, Mexico. Near the center of the path, totality takes place for the longest periods of time, according to NASA.

Spectators will observe totality for much longer today than during the 2017 eclipse , when the longest stretch of totality was 2 minutes and 32 seconds.

The moon's shadow seen on Earth today, called the umbra, travels at more than 1,500 miles per hour, according to NASA. It would move even more quickly if the Earth rotated in the opposite direction.

What is the longest a solar eclipse has ever lasted?

The longest known totality was 7 minutes and 28 seconds in 743 B.C. However, NASA says this record will be broken in 2186 with a 7 minute, 29 second total solar eclipse. The next total solar eclipse visible from parts of the U.S. won't happen until Aug. 23, 2044.

Sean "Diddy" Combs' son Christian "King" Combs has been accused of sexual assault in a new lawsuit , according to reports.

In the suit filed Thursday, Grace O'Marcaigh alleges that rapper Christian Combs, 26, sexually assaulted her in late December 2022, according to filings from Los Angeles County Superior Court obtained by NBC News and Rolling Stone . O'Marcaigh was working as a steward on the yacht chartered by the Combs family.

The music mogul is being sued for premises liability, because he allegedly chartered the yacht, plus aiding and abetting his youngest son. The alleged assault occurred days before Diddy put on a star-studded New Year's Eve yacht party.

In the lawsuit, Christian Combs is accused of sexual assault, sexual harassment and causing emotional distress.

The lawyer for O'Marcaigh, Tyrone Blackburn, is also representing Rodney "Lil Rod" Jones , a producer on Diddy's latest album who accused the music mogul of sexual assault and harassment in a February lawsuit.

Christian Combs' lawyer calls lawsuit 'another lewd and meritless claim'

In a statement shared with USA TODAY Friday, Aaron Dyer, the attorney for Sean "Diddy" Combs and Christian "King" Combs, addressed the allegations leveled by O'Marcaigh.

“This is just another lewd and meritless claim from Tyrone Blackburn — just like what he filed in the Rodney Jones lawsuit, which he still has not served. This complaint is filled with the same kind of manufactured lies and irrelevant facts we’ve come to expect from Blackburn," Dyer said.

"This is exactly why the federal judge in New York slapped him two days ago for a ‘pattern of behavior’ in 'improperly (filing) cases in federal court to garner media attention, embarrass defendants with salacious allegations, and pressure defendants to settle quickly,' and why he was referred to the disciplinary committee in the Southern District of New York," the statement continued.

Dyer added that his team "will be filing a motion to dismiss this outrageous claim."

Christian Combs was also named in that lawsuit filed last month by Lil Rod. According to the complaint, Lil Rod witnessed the rapper "drugging and sexually assaulting a woman."

At the time, that lawsuit stated that a complaint against Christian Combs was forthcoming.

What is in the lawsuit accusing Christian 'King' Combs of sexual assault?

According to reports, the lawsuit alleges Christian Combs allegedly pressured O'Marcaigh to take a shot of tequila that he poured for her. Then, Christian Combs' mood escalated after she suspected that the alcoholic beverage was spiked, according to the suit. After that, O'Marcaigh claims he groped her legs, breast, anus and vagina.

Lil Rod was allegedly on the yacht during the alleged assault, according to the reports of the lawsuit, and he recorded some of the exchange. The audio allegedly includes O'Marcaigh telling Combs to stop touching her.

Later, Combs allegedly cornered her in the yacht cinema and groped her before attempting to force her to perform oral sex. He took off his clothes and began grabbing her, she claims in the suit per the outlets, and she fought to get him off until somebody else walked in on the alleged incident. O'Marcaigh said her mental health deteriorated significantly and caused a series of issues in her personal life after the alleged assault, the outlets reported of the lawsuit.

Who is Christian 'King' Combs?

Christian Combs, also known as the rapper King Combs,  signed with his father's label , Bad Boy Records, in 2016. That same year, he graduated from high school.

Diddy shares Christian Combs with the late model and actress Kim Porter, who  died in 2018  at age 47  of pneumonia . She and Sean Combs had an on-again, off-again relationship that ended after 13 years in 2007.

In 2019, he released his EP, "Cyncerely C3," which featured collaborations with Ty Dolla $ign, Jeremih and City Girls. He followed this with singles and collaborations before releasing a four-track EP, "C3," in 2023. In January, the "Can't Stop Won't Stop" and "Love You Better" hitmaker released a new single called "Deep End."

Christian Combs joined his dad in  performing on stage at the MTV VMAs , where Sean Combs was presented with the Global Icon Award in September.
