Coldplay Announce 2023 Tour Dates

Coldplay have announced 2023 dates on their world tour in support of Music of the Spheres . Next year, the band will perform in Portugal, Spain, the United Kingdom, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, and the Netherlands. Find Coldplay’s schedule and a trailer for the tour below.

Coldplay famously declined to tour in support of Everyday Life for environmental reasons. Coldplay ‘music of the spheres’ concert tour 2023: how to get tickets.

Thanks for contacting us. We've received your submission.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin sings on a colorful stage.

Sometimes, you just gotta “Viva La Vida.”

And rather than take time off following their worldwide 2022 “Music of the Spheres Tour,” Coldplay will go hard all year long.

After performing live at the 20th anniversary of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Jan. 26, they’ll serve as the Musical Guest on the Feb. 4 episode of “Saturday Night Live” and then return to the road later this year for international dates in Spain, Great Britain, Italy, Switzerland and The Netherlands before closing their year with a quick seven-concert West Coast tour from Sept. 20 through Oct. 1 .

Although they played a few shows in California and Arizona last year, this time, they’re making sure to cover all their bases.

First, Chris Martin and co. will swoop into the Pacific Northwest and play stadium shows in Seattle (Sept. 20) and Vancouver ( Sept. 22 , Sept. 23 ).

Then, they’ll wrap with four California shows in San Diego ( Sept. 27 , Sept. 28 ) and Pasadena ( Sept. 30 , Oct. 1 ).

Some tickets are fairly inexpensive to see the seven-time Grammy winners too.

In fact, we’re happy to report that some tickets are going for as low as $77 before fees on Vivid Seats at the time of publication.

All prices are subject to fluctuation.

They’ll be joined by H.E.R. and 070 Shake for all North American “Music of the Spheres Tour” dates.

Coldplay 2023 tour schedule

A complete calendar including all of Coldplay’s upcoming tour dates, venues and the cheapest tickets available for each show can be found below.

(Note: The New York Post confirmed all above prices at the publication time. All prices are subject to fluctuation and include additional fees at checkout .)

Vivid Seats is a verified secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They offer a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and your tickets will be delivered prior to the event.

Coldplay opening acts

Each and every North American show will see Coldplay joined by H.E.R. and 070 Shake.

Here’s what you need to know about each of them.

H.E.R. is a 25-year-old singer-songwriter who has become one of the biggest names in R&B over the past few years. In addition to winning a Grammy and Oscar for her original songs, If you want to acquaint yourself with her catalogue, we recommend starting with her 2021 album “Back Of My Mind.”

070 Shake exploded onto the mainstream after singing the hook on controversial rapper Kanye West’s “Ghost Town.” Since then, she’s lent her voice to rappers Nas and Pusha T’s music as well. For a quick primer, make sure to pop in your headphones and try out her records “Modus Vivendi” and “You Can’t Kill Me.”

Coldplay new music

In a recent interview with Ryan Seacrest , Coldplay shared that they’re only going to release “three more albums.”

“…but lots more tours,” Martin told Seacrest. “Sometimes you can just feel when a story is going to end and that’s what I feel about our albums.”

One of those three may be coming soon though.

“We’re finishing an album called ‘Moon Music,'” Martin told City News . “(It) is the second ‘Music Of The Spheres’ volume, but that won’t come out for a little bit.”

Martin added, “We might start playing some songs at some point this year.”

“Jimmy Kimmel Live” 20th Anniversary show

Rather than just invite any old A-Listers to his 20th Anniversary show, Jimmy Kimmel went back to his roots and brought back the guests from his very first episode where he interviewed himself from 20 years ago .

Other guests beside his past self on Jan. 26 were “Ticket to Paradise” star George Clooney, rapper Snoop Dogg and, of course, Coldplay.

You can see Chris Martin’s tongue-in-cheek interview followed by the group’s spellbinding performance of their anthem “Clocks” below.

Huge concert tours in 2023

Coldplay will only be in North America for a short window of time this year.

Thankfully, many huge acts will tour all over the country in the next few months.

Here are just five of our can’t miss, must-see favorites who may be dropping into a stadium or arena near you soon.

•  Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band

•  Taylor Swift

•  Dave Matthews Band

•  Maroon 5

•  The Killers

You already know about those tours?

Well, to make it up to you, here’s some more you should definitely check out in our list of the 52 biggest concert tours in 2023 .

Chris Martin performs with Coldplay in Perth

Coldplay review: Music of the Spheres tour brings fireworks, aliens and radical optimism to Perth

Coldplay’s show at Optus Stadium was a childhood fantasy writ-large, wavering between head-spinning nausea and starry-eyed rapture

  • Get our weekend culture and lifestyle email

T hrough the darkness, a familiar melody rings out across the arena. But it’s not the opening track the 60,000-strong audience was expecting. To the soaring Flying Theme from the classic 1982 film ET, Coldplay charges ceremoniously on to the stage, like a crew of astronauts preparing for liftoff.

It is a fitting entrance for the Australian premiere of Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres tour in Perth , which animates their eponymous ninth studio album with a spectacle of flying planets, confetti cannons, fireworks and delirious singalongs. It is a childhood fantasy writ-large, wavering between head-spinning nausea and starry-eyed rapture.

Dressed in a tie-dye T-shirt and oozing his bouncy puppy-dog energy, Chris Martin launches into Higher Power, an electrifying entry point to the band’s non-stop barrage of hits that ensues over the two-hour set. The song premiered at the International Space Station in 2021 and tonight it’s given the same cosmic revelry, with the band’s signature LED wristbands glowing red and purple across the night like sea sparkle.

“Thank you for letting us come to Western Australia,” Martin says from behind the keyboard. “We’ve been rehearsing this show for 119 concerts so I think we should be up to standard now.”

Coldplay made a detour from south-east Asia to perform in Perth in what is their only Australian pitstop. The eco-conscious band chose Perth over Sydney due to its proximity to Jakarta, the previous stop on the tour, although it is believed the Western Australian government also brokered an eight-figure deal to land the gig.

Coldplay at Optus Stadium in Perth.

After the band’s 2019 announcement that they would stop touring until they could make it more sustainable, they have slashed emissions on the Music of the Spheres tour by almost 50%. This ethos runs through the production, with kinetic dance floors and power bikes recharging the show batteries, solar-powered wrist bands made from compostable materials and part of ticket sales going to a range of environmental causes.

Sign up for the fun stuff with our rundown of must-reads, pop culture and tips for the weekend, every Saturday morning

In the first part of the evening, the band focuses on hits from their early years, much to the delight of the audience of primarily gen X and elder millennials who were likely blaring Yellow on their car stereos before Spotify was a thing.

In The Scientist, Martin pounds the keyboard like a concert pianist. For the Brian Eno-produced anthem Viva La Vida, the band performs on the B stage amid a swarm of red, blue and white wrist-band lights, a nod to the French Revolution. You can feel the whole stadium pulsating and chanting to its rousing melody.

By far the night’s most touching moment comes when Martin invites a teenage girl named Jasmine up on stage whose sign reads “I beat cancer to be here”. He performs a delicate acoustic version of her favourite song, Everglow, as she sits beside him holding back tears.

Their career-spanning setlist continues into newer terrain with tracks such as the sugary-sweet pop ballad Human Heart. Normally a duet with Selena Gomez, tonight it’s performed by a Muppet, aka the fictional alien character Angel Moon. Judging by some of the bemused, cringing faces in the crowd, it’s totally lost on certain fans. Similarly in Something Just Like This, the entire band dons giant illuminated alien heads while a dizzying intergalactic journey lights up the screens. It gets a little fanciful and perplexing.

after newsletter promotion

With its masterful animations and immersive lighting, the show is certainly a visual feast. However, musically, you can sense a lull in the audience’s enthusiasm for some of the band’s newer electropop and EDM-infused tracks. While all bands evolve over time, this is unrecognisable from the Coldplay of 20 years ago. Eye-popping gimmicks aren’t enough if the music is so far removed it’s lost its authentic core.

Coldplay perform in Perth

As the generous spectacle draws to a close, Coldplay perform a gentle acoustic version of Sparks from their 2000 album Parachutes. “It’s easy to read the news today and think everybody hates each other,” Martin says partway through the track, as giant red love hearts shimmer across the stadium. “I want you to send some love anywhere in the world you want to send it. To Gaza, to the West Bank or to Israel.”

Comic relief comes in the form of the Song for Australia, an improvised track where Martin manages to squeeze in some impressive local references from Tame Impala to Dennis Lillee alongside the hilarious chorus “my life would be a failure, if I didn’t go to Western Australia”.

The evening concludes with the heartrending anthem Fix You, where Martin asks the audience to put away their phones and enjoy this moment together as “one big band”. With fireworks, confetti and floating planets, the finale pulls out all the stops and we’re left with the simple message – “believe in love”.

Coldplay: Music Of The Spheres World Tour

Saturday July 15 2023

The morning after the band celebrated six sold out nights in Wembley Stadium in London, Coldplay announced many more European stadium concerts for their Music Of The Spheres World Tour in summer 2023. With dates for the first shows in Portugal, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden and The Netherlands, and shows in the British cities Manchester and Cardiff.

Sinds the band started the record breaking tour in March 2022 in Costa Rica, more than four million tickets for their shows in Latin America, the United States and Europe, that have gotten amazing reviews from both fans and critics; the previously mentioned Wembley shows were no exception.

The tour was also praised by its groundbreaking sustainable initiatives, such as creating a show that is powered by almost 100% sustainable energy at almost every venue, the first tour worthy batterysystem on Earth (made of 40 electric BMW carbatteries), electric bikes and kinetic dance floors to make fans help create the energy for the concert, solar panels and wind turbines at every venue, a promise to reduce emissions by 50% on their tour, initiatives to motivate fans to travel with green transport and planting one tree for every ticket sold. Coldplay “Music of the Spheres” World Tour

Coldplay+Music+of+the+Spheres+World+Tour

Olivia Manegold , Staff Writer April 26, 2023

Coldplay is coming to Seattle on Wednesday, September 20th, 2023, and they are performing at Lumen Field. The last time the band had a tour date in Washington was Friday, October 22nd, 2021, at 6:00 pm, where they performed at Climate Pledge Arena. The “Music of the Spheres” world tour began March 18th when the band performed in Costa Rica for the first time, and following this they will also make stops in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Germany, USA, Poland, Belgium, France, and the UK. Opening and joining the band on their tour for the European stops will be Alli Neumann, Gaumar, Griff, Ibibio Sound Machine, Laura Mvula, Lous and the Yakuza, Mery Spolsky, Nina Nesbitt and Zoe Wees. Joining them for the North American part of their tour will be five-time Grammy winner R&B artist H.E.R and 070 Shake, an upcoming artist from New Jersey.

Coldplay is a British rock group that was formed in 1998 at University College in London. The band started off with  Chris Martin from Exeter, England playing the piano and doing vocals, and Jonny Buckland from London playing the guitar. Later, the band was joined by Will Champion from Southampton, England, who was originally a guitarist but later on in the band’s journey switched to playing drums. Guy Berryman from Kirkcaldy, Scotland, joined the band to play the bass.

Tickets for the tour started to go on sale beginning Friday, January 27th, at 10 a.m. pacific-standard time on Ticketmaster. Tickets range from 67 dollars to over 230 dollars depending on how high up your seats are and where in the stadium your seats are located. The Music of the Spheres World Tour has sold over six million tickets across many different places, including but not limited to Europe, North America, and Latin America. Many different fans and critics have sent their reviews and recommendations and they have written nothing but the best.

The band made the news on this tour because of their efforts towards sustainability through their shows being powered by natural energy. Their initiatives include the world’s first battery system that is able to tour and the first ever stadium show powered fully by renewable energy. As part of their effort to cut tour emissions by 50%, the band has planned to plant one tree for every show ticket sold and have offered fans ways to travel by low-emission transport. At the concerts, fans can even help to power the show by using bikes that create electricity and energy-generating dance floors.
