Overall a great tour. Much more than we expected. Highly recommend instead of trying to visit a foreign country without a tour guide and driver-- both of whom were fabulous !!

Paris and Versailles

The driver and hotel were great. Would have been nice if it had been closer to the meeting spots of my tour all of them were about a 45 min walk from my hotel. The tour guides were very knowledgeable but the tours were all too rushed I didn't have time to look at the gardens at any of the castle because it was so tight on time. It felt like a lot of rooms were missed in the louvre and at the castle because of the time. Would have liked if the tour guides had worked to create a camrotery among the group members.

The tour was interesting, fun, and just the right balance of group and independent activities. The tour guides were knowledgeable, helpful, and very organized!

Best of France Tour

Good itinerary - D-day and Mt. St. Michel were standouts. I also really liked Loire Castles. Amazing...! We saw the most charming little towns. Experienced informative talks about the places we went, and had enough free time to wonder through the shops. Out tour guide Gilbert was superb. Every effort made to make our travel experience excellent .e was a wealth of information and his maps and storytelling really brought history to life. All well organized. Hotels are standards and their meals are OK. Bu we went out to eat in local restaurants. Can't wait to book my next trip.

Paris Explorer (8 Days)

We enjoyed our time in Paris. Johnathan was an exceptional tour guide. His thoughtful approach to Normandy was wonderful. The hotel was not up to Marriott standards. Room was dusty and thoughtlessly cleaned. The location was good and the bus was in great shape.

We had a our 2nd Globus tour in 5 years, this one was Normandy, Brittany and Chateaux Country. Globus tours has much improved and it was a very good tour. Riccardo was our tour director, and he was fantastic. His attention to detail, his knowledge of the areas and his patience with all the members of the group on the trip was excellent. The trip was well organized and the side trips in this tour were all very good. Only complaint is the wifi on the bus does not work but other than that Globus had everything well planned out. Good trip.

Jewels of France including Normandy (8 Days)

Excellent guide and bus driver. Good tour but accomodation was disappointing. Two nights i slept on a cot which that hotel claimed to be a bed in a 2 bed room. Did they expect me to sleep in the larger bed with the room mate that they had matched me with? Not acceptable. But the guide and busdriver were amazing A

Grand Tour of France

It was really a Grand Tour of France. We were able to cover so many places which would have taken us a really long time if we tried to do it by ourselves. Our tour guide was a human encyclopaedia, an awesome storehouse of knowledge. She was constantly enlightening us about the history, geography and other aspects of the places we visited. Her arrangements were impeccable and she conducted the entire tour with amazing punctuality. At almost all scheduled stops we were given sufficient time to move about and see the place to our satisfaction. The only thing that we missed was our sleep. On most days the coach used to depart very early in the morning. Perhaps just as well because we did not have to wait in long queues to get in at tourist sites and were always before the other coaches of tourists. Overall an enjoyable tour, though at times a bit hectic.

It was a really good experience. This is my second trip with Eskapas. The first one was a small group tour fully escorted in Italy and it was wonderful. This trip is independent and you are joining at the meeting point to daily group ours. If you have send of orientation, it may be difficult so I recommend yo to take a taxi to reach out to the meeting points. Usually it costs 15-20Euro. The company upgraded our hotel to New Hotel Le Voltaire 4* ,, located in 11th Arrondissement, close to Bastille. It is a correct one, decent breakfast. Don't miss Cimetiere du Pere-Lachaise which is close proximity.

Day 2: Olive Oil in Gordes and Roussillon

A local producer of olive oil will take us on a walk through his olive fields and share with us his knowledge and passion for olive oil making.

He will show us the olive mill and we’ll get a chance to taste his olive oil and tapenade . The history and the production of olives will have no more secret for you. You will have the opportunity to buy many olive products like tapenade, oil, olives but also bowls and items made out of olive wood.

Afternoon: The Ochre Village of Roussillon and the Hilltop Town of Gordes

In the afternoon, we will visit two villages listed as the “most beautiful in France” : the reddish village of Roussillon that sits on top of the world’s biggest vein of ochre, and Gordes, sitting on a rock with an incredible view of vineyards and hills.

Stroll the cobblestone streets or the reddish trails through the ochre formations, shop in cute small stores or have a drink watching people go by.

Day 3: Chateauneuf du Pape Wine and Cooking at a Local Farm

The Chateauneuf du Pape village is dedicated to its world famous wine Côtes du Rhône wine,”Châteauneuf-du-Pape”.

We will have a guided visit in a well-known winery, to learn everything about this famous wine , including how to taste wine. The visit will end with the tasting of three exquisite Chateauneuf du Pape wines.

Afternoon: Visit to a Local Farm and Cooking Session

Located near Mont Ventoux, the Pedagogic Farm will open its doors to us so that we can discover their biologic agriculture world: grapes, olives, lavender, cherries, herbs, forgotten vegetables and, of course, their animals. You will have a chance to pet and feed them.

The visit will end around the farmer’s table where you will prepare and savor a dish with the fresh products found on the farm.

Day 4: Safari in Camargue and Historical Village of Les Baux

Camargue, a mythical land , is the house of wild black bulls, white horses and rice fields.

A local farmer will take us on a trailer pulled by his tractor into the very heart of his ranch where we will discover rice fields, white horses and wild black bulls raised for the “race Camarguaise” in arenas. His “cow-boys” will do a demonstration of herding bulls with their horses. You will find yourself in the middle of the herd. Very impressive!

Afternoon: The Charming Village of Les Baux de Provence

Discover this amazing medieval village dominating the valley and its Château, listed one of the most beautiful villages in France . Perched on a rocky outcrop, the site provides a unique view over the vineyards and olive fields of Provence towards the sea.

Day 5: Masterpiece of Pont du Gard

We will spend some time in the interactive museum not only dedicated to the building of the bridge but also to the Roman civilization : full scale replicas, maps, multi-screen images, video and sound archives.

You can also walk the beautiful trail surrounding the bridge.

Day 6: Provencal Market and Van Gogh

Stroll and shop the incredible and colorful market . It is an accessible and rewarding way to immerse yourself in the lifestyle of the area.

Fresh food and its artful display speaks for itself. But there is much more than food: colorful arrays of Provencal fabric, tablecloths, pottery , silk scarves, natural soaps with dozens of scents and of course lavender products.

We will visit the beautiful old monastery of St Paul Mausole in St Remy de Provence. This is where Van Gogh spent the last year of his life and painted 150 of his famous paintings. This is now a nursing home that has a permanent exhibition of paintings by the patients.

It is very emotional and fascinating to stroll through the bedroom where Van Gogh stayed during his very troubled time in 1889-90.

Day 7: Hidden Village of the Luberon and Lavender Museum

You will be enchanted by this medieval village not listed in travel books. This “kept-authentic” little hill-top village is built on a rocky outcrop surrounded by lush vegetation.

It will be a pleasure to stroll the little streets and discover the 12th century church, the ruins of a castle and historical houses from the 15th and 16th century. You too will fall in love with this place, just like I did when I first discovered it.

One cannot really separate Provence from images of purple lavender fields, the heady lavender scent in the air and the distinctive taste of lavender infused dishes.

Discover the whole history of lavender , its distillation, and use in medicinal therapy and cooking at the lavender museum. This will be the perfect time to shop for products made out of lavender.

Day 8: Departure

Elegant 18th century villa.

The luxury hotel offers 16 bedrooms with private full bathrooms all with high comfort, tranquility and relaxation, with its swimming pool set in over beautiful grounds.

The refined cuisine of the Chef, based on fresh seasonal local products, is an innovative blend of Provencal and contemporary gastronomy.

Each bedroom has: a flat screen TV set, telephone, heating and AC, a minibar, a safe, ADSL and WiFi and a big full bathroom.
