HOZIER ANNOUNCES FOURTEEN NEW SHOWS ON HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL 2024 UNREAL UNEARTH TOUR

Due to remarkable demand across the U.S. and Canada, Hozier has added fourteen new shows to his most extensive headlining run in North America – The Unreal Unearth Tour –  signaling an incredibly momentous touring year for the award-winning, RIAA-Diamond certified singer/songwriter. The first round of shows announced on the Unreal Unearth Tour in 2024 sold over 500K tickets in a single day. New performances include a fourth and final show at New York’s Forest Hills Stadium, a third show at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum, and numerous new dates across Jacksonville, FL; Wilmington, NC; Buffalo, NY; Camden, NJ; Clarkston, MI; Lincoln, NE; Winnipeg, MB; Saskatoon, SK; Calgary, AB; Edmonton, AB; Sacramento, CA; and Mountain View, CA. Hozier first teased the announcement of added shows via social media this past Friday (see HERE ) and shared the news of his additional dates with fans on socials this morning (see HERE ).

Hozier has continued to hook audiences worldwide with his provocative, energetic, and organic live performances that span his extensive decade-long catalog of hits. He has stayed true to his ethos as his shows have grown into larger venues, continuing to draw inspiration from performing entirely live with his expanding band. Hozier’s unique connection with his audience has grown more apparent over the years and stems from the enduring intimate nature of his shows. His dedicated following of die-hard fans quickly showed their enthusiasm for his third studio album, Unreal Unearth , learning the lyrics to the songs through his live performances and singing along to every word prior to the release. Released August 18 via Columbia Records, the 16-track LP debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 albums chart and follows a captivating thematic arc informed by the turbulence of the world and the fight for a better and brighter tomorrow. Unreal Unearth received both fan and critical acclaim, landing on various year-end lists with Rolling Stone, Billboard, Esquire, American Songwriter and more naming it one of the ‘Best Albums of 2023.’ Additionally, Hozier is featured on the re-release of Noah Kahan’s single “Northern Attitude” after the two debuted the collaboration in Nashville while on their respective headline tours. MORE ON TICKETS: Hozier wants to give fans the best chance to buy tickets at face value. For fans who purchase tickets for the Unreal Unearth Tour 2024 through Ticketmaster and can’t attend, they will have the option to resell their ticket to other fans at the original price paid using Ticketmaster’s Face Value Exchange. To help protect the Face Value Exchange, Hozier has also chosen to make tickets for this tour mobile only and restricted from transfer. This applies to all shows except those in Colorado, New York, and Virginia where Face Value Exchange cannot be mandated. A valid bank account or debit card within the country of your event is required to sell tickets on the Face Value Exchange. Concert Review: Hozier Performs at Budweiser Stage in Toronto

From the very moment the gates opened at Budweiser stage, people started flooding into the venue in anticipation of Hozier’s sold-out show in the heart of downtown Toronto. The air was buzzing with excitement, making it clear that Toronto was ready for Hozier to take the stage. 

As soon as the opener ( Madison Cunningham ) hit the stage, she had the crowd going wild! Her bluesy/jazz sound was a hit with everyone in attendance. She showed off her killer guitar riffs and strong vocal abilities song after song, with support from her incredibly talented band. I could only describe her music as calculated, hypnotic, and full of soul. If you haven’t gotten around to giving Madison Cunningham’s music a listen, I would highly recommend doing so!! Madison had everyone in the audience jamming and ready for the much-anticipated main act to come out.

It finally came time for Hozier to take the stage. The crowd was on the edge of their seats, waiting for him and his band to take the stage. Suddenly, the house lights dimmed, and the stage lights glowed… and Hozier took the stage. His band played some awesome instrumentals that set a dark and mysterious tone while Hozier got his guitar ready to go. Then, the moment the first chords of his guitar started; the audience went CRAZY!! His set started with ‘De Selby (Part 1)’ and moved into the upbeat ‘De Selby (Part 2)’. I think I would be bold enough to say these were the PERFECT songs to start his set with and set the tone for the evening. 

Hozier played a lot of songs from his older albums, which were clearly fan favorites. One of them was ‘Cherry Wine’, which was played acoustically about halfway into the set, and it was breathtaking to witness. I have never seen, nor heard, a crowd so moved by a song like this one. There was no rogue cheering or screaming, everyone in attendance was just singing along quietly and soaking in the performance on stage. Hozier also played a lot of songs like ‘Eat Your Young’ and ‘Who We Are’ from his most recent album ‘Unreal Unearth’. 

His voice is so powerful, and it proves that singers can sound exactly like they do in their studio recordings. This was clear when he played his arguably most well-known song ‘Take Me to Church’. There is a reason it is so well loved by his fans; it has a powerful message and is such a powerful song. During this song, a fan threw a pride flag on stage and Hozier held it up as he sang the last chorus in the song. The crowd erupted! I could literally feel the ground shaking with how loud the cheers were after this song finished. Hozier then exited the stage with a simple ‘thank you’, which left everyone wanting more. 

Luckily, this was not the end of the night. Hozier came out for an encore and played three more songs. This included ‘Unknown/Nth’, ‘First Light’, and ‘Work Song’. I think Work song was the best song to end the night and I think it left everyone feeling satisfied. It felt like the perfect close to the show. After finishing up his set, Hozier went out of his way to thank every single member of his crew by name and even had everyone sing Happy Birthday to his drummer. It is clear Hozier is so passionate about what he does, and I think that contributed to how incredible his show was. I would recommend to everyone that loves an authentic live performance they should see Hozier at least once in their life. It was a concert that was truly like no other.

Irish singer-songwriter Hozier announced on St. Patrick’s Day – which also happens to be his 33rd birthday – that he is bringing his Unreal Unearth Tour to Canada later this year.

The tour takes its name from his third studio album, which will drop in late summer. He is previewing the collection with a three-track EP titled Eat Your Young .

“It’s always a gift to be able to release new music into the world and an added joy to do so on a birthday,” said Hozier, in a release.

The singer, who burst onto the scene a decade ago with “Take Me To Church,” will play Toronto’s Budweiser Stage on Sept. 19 and Place Bell in Laval, QC on Sept. 20. Hozier will be back north on Oct. 22 for a show at Rogers Arena in Vancouver.

Madison Cunningham will be the special guest. Tickets go on sale at 12 noon local time on March 24.
