Iron Maiden

The future past tour 2023, olympic hall.

Iron Maiden

They have been on the road for almost half a century, tireless and eternally young: the heavy metal legends Iron Maiden. After a twelve-year break, the tough Englishmen are now coming back to the Olympic Hall - twice, at a double concert on 31 July and 1 August 2023. The focus will be on the songs from their latest hit album "Senjutsu" and their cult long player "Somewhere in Time" from 1986.

They rocked the Olympic Hall for the first time in 1980, back then with their big hits like "Sanctuary" and "Running Free". The last time Iron Maiden came here was in 2011, and now the metal legends around singer Bruce Dickinson, guitarist Dave Murray and bassist Steve Harris are returning to the park. Their double concert will revolve around two very special albums: "Senjutsu", the band's 17th and most recent studio album, which, like its three predecessors "A Matter of Life and Death", "The Final Frontier" and "The Book of Souls", made it to No. 1 in the German charts - and reached No. 3 in the Billboard 200, the highest ranking for an Iron Maiden album in the USA.

In addition, the legendary classic "Somewhere in Time", the epic sixth studio album from 1986, will also take centre stage on the tour. "We decided to resurrect the album because this tour wasn't included in the many restrospective history tours we've played over the years," says Steve Harris. And manager Ron Smallwood adds, "We find the combination of the two albums very exciting. It's going to be a very special tour for old and for new fans of Iron Maiden."

News Update: Beginnzeit bei allen Iron Maiden-Shows ist 19.30 Uhr. Up The Irons!

Iron Maiden Announces First 2023 ‘The Future Past’ Tour Dates

Iron Maiden has announced the first dates of the Future Past Tour for 2023.

Beginning in June, the band will perform a series of concerts in Europe and the U.K., including a hometown gig in London on July 7. You can see a complete list of tour dates below.

Iron Maiden will play selections from their newest album, 2021's Senjutsu , during the shows but have also stated that there will be a "focus" on their 1986 album, Somewhere in Time , "plus other classic cuts." Up until now, Iron Maiden had been opening their Legacy of the Beast Tour concerts with the first three songs from  Senjutsu , but they've decided to change things for this next trek.

"As it doesn't make a lot of sense to repeat this for a Senjutsu album tour, we thought about other options and we've decided to revisit Somewhere in Time as that tour didn't feature in the various retrospective history tours we've played over the years," bassist  Steve Harris said in a statement.

"They were based on our '80s concert videos and sadly we did not film that tour. We have had lots of requests from fans over the years for many tracks on it so we are now going to play them, plus of course a few others we know you will like! It will also be particularly satisfying to finally get to play some of the more epic tracks on Senjutsu , it's been a long wait!"

"This combination of the two albums we feel is very exciting," the band's manager, Rod Smallwood, added. "We know fans want to hear those epic cuts on Senjutsu for the first time live, and we think that by combining it with an iconic album like Somewhere in Time it will make for another really special tour for fans old and new!" Tickets for the tour will go on sale on Oct. 13, with a fan club presale available beforehand.

Further European dates, as well as other tour details, will be announced at a later time.

Iron Maiden, 'The Future Past' Tour Dates 2023 June 13 - Krakow, Poland @ Tauron Arena June 19 - Zurich, Switzerland @ Hallenstadion June 24 - Dublin, Ireland @ 3Arena June 26 - Glasgow, Scotland @ Ovo Hydro June 28 - Leeds, England @ First Direct Arena June 30 - Manchester, England @ AO Arena July 3 - Nottingham, England @ Motorpoint Arena July 4 - Birmingham, England @ Utilita Arena July 7 - London, England @ O2 Arena July 11 - Amsterdam, The Netherlands @ Ziggo Dome July 13 - Antwerp, Belgium @ Sportpaleis July 15 - Milan, Italy @ The Return of the Gods Festival

IRON MAIDEN Announces 'The Future Past' 2023 European Tour

British heavy metal legends IRON MAIDEN will bring a new tour to Europe in the summer of 2023, including arena shows in the U.K. and Ireland. "The Future Past Tour" will feature previously unperformed songs from the band's most recent studio album, "Senjutsu" , along with a focus on 1986's iconic "Somewhere In Time" record, plus other classic cuts.

Tickets go on sale from Friday, October 14 at 9 a.m. via LiveNation.co.uk. As always, there will be an exclusive pre-sale for IRON MAIDEN fan club members.

IRON MAIDEN founding member and bassist Steve Harris says: "Following the release of our latest album, 'Senjutsu' , we updated the current 'Legacy Of The Beast' tour a little by opening the show with the first three songs from it, with the Japanese Palace stage set. As it doesn't make a lot of sense to repeat this for a 'Senjutsu' album tour, we thought about other options and we've decided to revisit 'Somewhere In Time' as that tour didn't feature in the various retrospective history tours we've played over the years. They were based on our '80s concert videos and sadly we did not film that tour (blame the manager!!). We have had lots of requests from fans over the years for many tracks on it so we are now going to play them, plus, of course, a few others we know you will like! It will also be particularly satisfying to finally get to play some of the more epic tracks on 'Senjutsu' , it's been a long wait! 2023 is going to be an exciting time and we're really looking forward to seeing everyone again in the U.K., Ireland and around Europe”.

IRON MAIDEN manager Rod Smallwood adds: "This combination of the two albums we feel is very exciting. We know fans want to hear those epic cuts on 'Senjutsu' for the first time live and we think that by combining it with an iconic album like 'Somewhere In Time' it will make for another really special tour for fans old and new! Of course, for a new album tour in Europe and the UK we will go back largely to the relative intimacy of arenas and we know fans will be very happy about that too!”

Theatre | music | books, gig review: iron maiden – future, past tour 2023.

Thirty years on from first seeing them – then Maiden had a somewhat portly Blaze Bailey at the helm, and no Adrian Smith – it was time to see what the intervening years had done to one of the greatest metal bands of all time.

This tour pays homage to time and its fleeting intangibility. In pairing 1986’s Somewhere In Time with 2021’s Senjutsu , the bridge across the Chasm of Ages is set to be be built; the rarely performed Caught Somewhere In Time  the first glimpse of just how special this night was destined to be.

Nicko McBrain thundered out the rhythm. Steve Harris shored it up on bass. Adrian Smith, Janick Gers and Dave Murray on guitars provided the fuel. Yet it is – as it has been since, like, forever – Dickinson who pilots the ship through some very choppy, if fun-filled, waters.

His energy is frightening. Sprinting from side to side of the vast O2 Arena, his is a zest that belies his sixty-four years. Dressed like a refugee from the video game Cyberpunk , Bruce’s voice is absolutely peerless, splintering the night like a spear through flimsy glass, demanding obedience from his devotees.

Iron Maiden don’t do small. Or understated. Or diminutive. In between bantering with all the cheeky charm of a collective of Cockney barrow boys, Dickinson is intent only on one thing: entertaining. Big time.

The highlights were, well … everything!

Can I Play With Madness lays waste the idea that Dickinson’s voice might waver as the night moves on. It didn’t. It never even hinted at so much as cracking, let alone giving in.  Note-after-elongated-note is produced and held in perfect scale, time-after-time-after-time.

Alexander The Great – played on this tour for the first time – and an unexpected Fear Of The Dark , with all of its throaty menace and throbbing Hitchcockian vibes – as haunting now as it had been on the band’s ninth album of the same name, released in 1992.

With every Gothic nightmare there must be a Gothic demon. When Eddie appears during The Writing On The Wall , leaning casually against the keyboard riser, it returns much more forcefully during The Time Machine . In response Bruce mounts a battle tank gun turret, grasps the triggers and lets the monster have it with such unabated glee – and near delirium from the audience – the gig teeters surreally for a moment on the edge of turning from being a rock concert and, instead, into a lavishly staged, dystopian pantomime.

And what about the material fro m Senjutsu ? How do these shining diamonds sit amidst the glitter of the already revealed treasure chest of golden oldies? Fabulously well is the answer.

Oh, and lest we forget, Hell On Earth. This delightful newbie has the crowd waving side to side at Dickinson’s behest, while jets of fire – yes fire – spat from canon upstage and across, give the impression Daenerys Targaryen, Mother of Dragons, has brought her kids along for a bit of a break from Game of Thrones.

With a magnificent Wasted Years , Iron Maiden and The Trooper – oh my God, The Trooper !  Decorated from above with images of Errol Flynn charging the Light Brigade played out on the big screen behind – this package of delirium brings a flight carrying nearly two hours of metal madness manically into land.

As Dickinson hails and thanks and promises the crowd they’ll be back, so Nicko McBrain remains on stage, tossing sticks into the grateful audience, long after his bandmates had exited.

Now that, my friends, is a class act.

That, my friends, was Iron Maiden, 2023!

Dublin’s 3Arena is about to witness an electrifying onslaught of British heavy metal as the legendary band Iron Maiden takes the stage in 2023. Renowned for their captivating live performances, Iron Maiden continues to captivate audiences around the globe with their unique blend of powerful music, stunning visuals, and relentless energy. As the band enters their fifth decade of existence, their live shows remain a testament to their enduring legacy and the indomitable spirit of heavy metal.

Iron Maiden – A Legacy Forged in Steel:

Iron Maiden’s journey began in the late 1970s, spearheading the influential New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement. With their debut album, “Iron Maiden” (1980), they introduced the world to their iconic mascot, Eddie, and a sound that would solidify their place in music history. Since then, the band has released a string of classic albums such as “The Number of the Beast” (1982), “Powerslave” (1984), and “Seventh Son of a Seventh Son” (1988), among many others.

The Unforgettable Live Experience:

Iron Maiden’s live shows have become the stuff of legend, captivating fans with their larger-than-life stage setups, intricate storytelling, and unparalleled musicianship. Led by the charismatic Bruce Dickinson, whose soaring vocals can still send shivers down the spine, the band brings their music to life with unmatched intensity and precision.

As the curtain rises at Dublin’s 3Arena, fans expect to be engulfed in a sensory feast. The stage is transformed into a fantastical world where Eddie, the band’s beloved mascot, looms large in various incarnations, creating an immersive experience that goes beyond just a concert. Iron Maiden has always been known for their elaborate stage productions, incorporating pyrotechnics, stunning visual effects, and larger-than-life props. These elements come together to create an otherworldly atmosphere that enhances the impact of their music.Tonight is no different and the energy and passion for this band and their spectacular back catalogue can be heard far and wise across Dublin tonight.

A Setlist to Satisfy the Masses:

Iron Maiden’s setlist for their 2023 tour promises to be a celebration of their storied career, featuring a diverse range of songs that span their entire discography. From the blistering riffs of tonights opener “Caught Somewhere In Time” and “The Trooper” to the epic grandeur of “Fear of the Dark” and “Hallowed Be Thy Name,” and for one superfan standing beside me waiting 38 long years to hear “Alexander The Great” in the flesh, the band will take fans on a sonic journey through their extensive catalog.

While their classic hits are a staple of their live performances, Iron Maiden also showcases their commitment to artistic evolution by incorporating newer tracks from their most recent albums. Expect to hear the thunderous rhythms of “The Writing on the Wall”,  demonstrating that the band continues to push boundaries and create new musical landscapes. With each and every track greeted with a roar of approval, this setlist is going down well with the thirsty Irish crowd, an eclectic crowd at that, old-school metal fans from far and wide and young kids in tow, showing the importance of this band even today shaping the future of metal and little metal heads everywhere they go. Their footprint and legacy can be felt well beyond the walls of this arena, and looking around me I can see exactly what this means to so many, grown men almost in tears filled with emotion hearing the soundtrack of their youth played out with a lifetime of friends, you cant help but be impressed.

The Legacy Continues:

As Iron Maiden embarks on their EU/UK 2023 tour, it is a testament to their enduring popularity and their unwavering dedication to their craft. Despite the passage of time, their live performances remain a rite of passage for metal fans, old and new, who gather together to witness the band’s sheer power and passion on stage.

In an era where live music experiences have become increasingly important, Iron Maiden’s concerts stand out as an immersive journey into the heart of heavy metal. With their unrivaled showmanship, musicianship, and a catalog of anthems that have shaped the genre, Iron Maiden proves time and time again that they are a force to be reckoned with.

Iron Maiden’s upcoming performance at Dublin’s 3Arena promised to be a night of pure sonic exhilaration and visual spectacle, and it absolutely delivered. As they continue to push the boundaries of what a live metal experience can be, the band’s unwavering commitment to their fans and their music shines through. Iron Maiden’s legacy as one of the greatest live bands in the world is set to soar to new heights in 2023, leaving a lasting impression on all who are fortunate enough to witness their power on stage.

Preview IRON MAIDEN - Moscow 2011

iron maiden tour 2023 hamburg

In August 2010, EMI released the band’s 15th studio album which immediately got top positions in the music charts and had become a bestseller in 28 countries. The length of the album is over 76 minutes that makes “The Final Frontier” the longest album in the history of IRON MAIDEN, breaking the record of the previous album entitled “A Matter of Life and Death”, the length of which is about 72 minutes. Taking into consideration, that the band’s first album came out 30 years ago, the musicians on the average released an album every 2 years. During the existence of the formation there were sold over 80 million disks that’s why IRON MAIDEN which exerted a great influence on the development of metal in general, can be treated as a real phenomenon in the world of rock. The “Final Frontier World Tour” started in the US in June and created almost a commotion as concert tickets were bought up in no time. The tour went on in Europe, where the band played as a headliner at the famous festivals. The European part of the tour finished on the 21st of August in Spain, but already this year the tour will continue. To the concert in Moscow all the musicians, the staff and the equipment will fly on the Boeing 757, which will be piloted by vocalist Bruce Dickinson. In 2008, IRON MAIDEN chartered an airplane and decorated it with a huge logo of the band. The latest DVD of the band “Flight 666”, which includes a show of the tour in 2008 and a documentary film about the concerts and flights on the Boeing 757 “Ed Force One”, came out in 2009 and became #1 in 25 countries.  Additional Concert Info Starts: 7 p.m. More Info: http://savshow.ru/
