Leading into Summer of 2022, Drake surprised fans with his seventh studio album,  Honestly Nevermind  which includes a notable feature from 21 Savage. Most recently in November of 2022 Drake and 21 Savage came out with a collaborative studio album titled  Her Loss . Drake announces more shows on 2023 North American tour with 21 Savage

is 21 on drake's tour

Drake is going on a North American tour for the first time in five years, and he's taking 21 Savage along for the ride.

The duo behind chart-topping single "Rich Flex," which debuted in the top slot of Billboard's Global 200 chart , will perform a 43-date arena tour this summer , adding 14 more performances to the initial 29 concerts announced. The It's All a Blur Tour includes stops across the U.S. and Canada kicking off on June 16 in New Orleans and wrapping up in Glendale, Arizona, on Sept. 5.

The last time Drake, 36, went on tour was half a decade ago for the Aubrey & the Three Migos Tour in 2018.

During his break from the road, the rapper put out a number of studio albums including "Her Loss" with 21 Savage, along with a smattering of other releases. The tour's name is a nod to Drake's work over the last five years, according to a Monday release.

The announcement delivers on a tease from Drake made during his January performance at the Apollo Theater in Harlem  while thanking fans. "I'll be out and about on the road this year, so I hope to see a lot of the same faces," he said at the time.

The Canadian rapper took to Instagram to announce the tour Monday with a montage-style video on Instagram. "IT’S ALL A BLUR TOUR with @21savage," he wrote. "Dates now live on DrakeRelated.com click the link in bio for more information and details for your location."

Drake and 21 Savage have long history

It's not surprising to see Drake and 21 Savage touring together, especially after the release of their 16-track project, "Her Loss,"   which they performed together at New York's famed Apollo Theater in January. All 16 tracks on "Her Loss" debuted on Billboard’s Hot 100 last year.

The two also   shared the mic on "Mr. Right Now" from 21 Savage's 2020 "Savage Mode II" album and in turn, 21 Savage was featured on Drake's 2021 "Certified Lover Boy" with "Knife Talk." The two also closed out Drake's 2022 offering "Honestly, Nevermind" with "Jimmy Cooks."

The interviews and Vogue covers may have been fake, but trust Drake — the tour announcement is real. The rapper is teeing up his It’s All a Blur tour, his first outing in five years. And he’s getting 21 to do something else for him — join the run, off the success of their joint album, Her Loss . No, “It’s All a Blur” doesn’t refer to the multiple controversies around Her Loss . Per a press release, “The title, a celebration of the last decade, sums up Drake’s sentiment of the unprecedented run as he gets ready to hit the road.” (If the past ten years of Drake releases is a blur to you, that stretches back to Nothing Was the Same .) The notoriously nostalgic rapper reflected on the time that’s passed in a clip announcing the tour, from some of his past shows to the birth of his son. Call it an era tour, singular.

The 29-date tour kicks off June 16 in New Orleans and runs through September 5 in Glendale ( sorry, Swiftdale? ), Arizona. It includes multiple dates in Chicago, Atlanta, and Boston — not to mention in Manhattan and Brooklyn, plus Inglewood and Los Angeles. And yes, a press release promises, the Toronto dates are on their way. Drake has played a number of one-off gigs recently, and reflective ones at that, like a two-night stand at New York’s Apollo Theater and his October World Weekend , which featured a reunion with Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj. He also has a gig coming up headlining J. Cole’s Dreamville Festival . His last full tour, in 2018, was the Aubrey and the Three Migos tour with Migos. As for 21? He’s content to just do his thing and let Jimmy Cook .

Drake Is Going on Tour with 21 Savage! See the Dates

The It's All a Blur tour will kick off on June 16 in New Orleans

is 21 on drake's tour

Drake and 21 Savage are "doing something" for their fans!

The "Take Care" rapper, 36, announced Monday that he is going on the road with his Her Loss collaborator 21 Savage for the It's All a Blur tour.

The 29-date tour will kick off on June 16 in New Orleans and will make stops in major cities like Chicago, Boston, New York, Miami and Los Angeles.

It will also mark Drake's first tour since 2018's Aubrey & the Three Migos. Since then, he's released four albums including his most recent with 21 Savage, 30.

Tickets will be available for presale beginning on Wednesday while the general sale will begin on Friday on drakerelated.com .

On Instagram, Drake shared a nostalgic montage video of his life and career over the years as he announced the tour.

Drake and 21 Savage announced their collaborative album Her Loss in October during a visual for their hit single "Jimmy Cooks."

The album featured 16 songs including their hit "Rich Flex." The album also stirred up controversy with rapper Megan Thee Stallion when they seemingly accused her of lying about getting shot in the foot in the song "Circo Loco."

Drake and 21 Savage have a long history of teaming up on songs together. Alongside "Jimmy Cooks" off Drake's 2022 album Honestly, Nevermind , the pair also released Certified Lover Boy cut "Knife Talk," which hit No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The duo previously took part in the first live performance of "Jimmy Cooks" together at a homecoming concert for colleges Morehouse and Spelman in October. The Atlanta hometown show for 21 Savage ended up becoming the perfect setting for a Drake cameo, as the two also played "Knife Talk," with Drake sharing a performance of his hit, "Nonstop."

20 Top-Tier Moments From Drake's 'It's All A Blur Tour' With 21 Savage

By Tony M. Centeno

October 9, 2023

Drake & 21 Savage

Drake's tour with 21 Savage has literally been a blur. The past three months have been full of eye-popping events that went down at Drake's "It's All A Blur Tour" with 21 Savage. Based on all the wild footage we've seen on social media, it's safe to say fans who attended the 27-city tour will never forget their experience. We've watched fans get closer to Drake and 21 than ever before at the beginning of each show. We've witnessed Drizzy give away thousands dollars of fans, and hooked them up with lavish purses. We've seen numerous women toss bras at him, and the mountain of fan's bras he's built up over time.

Not only did fans win big during the tour, but so did Drake. According to Touring Data , the Grammy award-winning artist made history as the first rap artist to rack up over $5 million from a single arena concert. The numbers were based on his shows in Washington, D.C., which brought in over $5 million on July 28 and July 29. As of August, his tour has garnered over $41 million and counting. The numbers and memories don't lie. In case you missed out on the festivities, scroll down below to see 20 of the best moments from Drake's "It's All A Blur Tour" with 21 Savage. Drake brought out plenty of special guests during his tour. At the beginning of each show each night, Drake made his descent down the stairs to get up close and personal with his fans before he kicked off the show. Sometimes he would surprise the crowd by inviting a different celebrity to join him on his journey to the stage. Throughout the tour, he's walked out with artists like Meek Mill , Lil Durk , Bow Wow , and DJ Khaled who used his time to tease two new Drake songs on his upcoming album. Drake also invited athletes like Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, LeBron & Bronny James to join him on his walk down to the stage. Fans stunned by Drake rapping to his younger self

At the beginning of his tour, fans were enamored with the first performance of the night. Following his grand entrance, Drake walked up to the stage and sat down next to what fans believed was a hologram of his younger self on a couch. He performed his 2011 song "Look What You've Done" off his Take Care album while his teenage self was listening. In reality, it was just an real-life actor who kinda looked like him, but the imagery and significance of the moment alone was incredible to witness. Teenaged Drake made other appearances throughout the show, but the introductory performance is one of the stand-out moments of the show. Drake honors his mom Sandi Graham

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Power 105.1 (@power1051)

During his second night at Madison Square Garden in New York, the OVO Sound founder invited his mother Sandi Graham to sit by his side on stage. She looked so proud as her son rapped "Look What You Done" to her. After they hugged and embraced each other, Mrs. Graham looked teary-eyed as she reached out to hold his hand. His massive floating stage props sparked plenty of conversation

All this talk about black women’s respectability policies and Drake in here with a damn floating sperm pic.twitter.com/ygi9kXChUb — Hippolyta ✨ (@A_GirlNamedBRI) July 6, 2023

As he performed his hits throughout the night, Drake had several gigantic balloons in the shape of random figures from a tall bride to an illuminated UFO float around the stage and over the audience. Fans jaws dropped when they saw a gang of floating sperm cells swim over the stage while Drake performed. At one point, Ghostface from the Scream franchise floated over the stage as Drizzy and 21 performed songs like "Knife Talk" and "Rich Flex." Fans threw several inanimate objects including hundreds of bras

Some fans thought it was funny to join in on the terrible trend of throwing things at artists at concerts by chucking numerous items at Drake during his tour. He's been hit with a cell phone and nearly got pummeled by a copy of his own poetry book before he caught it in midair. However, the only items Drake allowed fans to throw at him were women's bras. One fan actually got an offer from Playboy after throwing her bra at Drake

One woman in particular actually impressed Drake with her bra size. Veronica Correia gained plenty of popularity overnight after Drake caught her 36G bra and was clearly blown away. "Locate this woman immediately," he told the crowd at the Barclay's Center in New York. He didn't get a chance to meet her in person, but she still managed to attract attention from the likes of Playboy , who offered her a gig with their influencer program . Drake eventually revealed his massive collection of all the bras from all his tour stops

Nearly three months into his tour, Drake racked up A LOT of bras of all sizes and colors from around the world. He decided to show off his massive collection in a series of photos he posted to his Instagram page. He even used the idea for one of his tour shirt, which features a mountain of bras with the caption "Lost & Found" under it. J. Cole was one of the few artists who Drake brought out on stage during his tour

Drake needed a legit replacement for 21 Savage, who couldn't leave the U.S. due to his own immigration issues. Instead, Drizzy called on J. Cole to pull up. Cole performed couple of his notable bangers like "Middle Child" and "Power Trip." At one point during the set, Drake asked Cole if they would team up for a new collaboration on Cole's upcoming album. Fans definitely felt like they witnessed history that night. He also brought out Travis Scott

Drake also recruited Travis Scott to pull up on his show in Vancouver shortly after UTOPIA dropped. During his set, the Houston MC performed several stand-out from the album like "I Know?" and "FE!N." Drake eventually joined him to perform "MELTDOWN" together for the first time along with "Sicko Mode."

Drake keeps fans on their toes about his upcoming album

Fans already knew the album was in the works way before the tour kicked off at the top of July. 24 hours after Titles Ruin Everything was announced, Drake confirmed that he made an album to go with his first poetry book. Throughout the tour, the 36-year-old artist revealed a different clue about the project and fans ate it up. He announced upcoming collaborations with Nicki Minaj and Bad Bunny . He told fans that Noah "40" Shebib was working on the album in the back while he was on stage. Drake even teased timeframes like "in a couple weeks" without giving exact dates, and fans got mad every time he missed their target date. "I didn't say it was dropping last night," Drake said to the crowd in Seattle on August 25 . "So, don't be mad at me! I just said it was coming soon."

21 Savage also confirmed his next solo album is on the way

Drake confirmed 21 Savage’s third solo album is dropping soon pic.twitter.com/4hZho1H0AH — King Wow (@wowthatshiphop) July 26, 2023

With his own album on the way, Drake was way too hype to announce 21's album. Towards the end of their show in New York City, Drake confirmed that both their albums are on the way.

During his stop in Philadelphia, Drake took some time out to pay homage to the late YNG Cheese . The 25-year-old rapper was gunned down in his hometown just days before the show. His father Gillie Da King was in the building and heard Drizzy's touching tribute. “Before we get started, one of our friends, our brothers in this shit, lost his son the other day,” Drake said. “So I wanna dedicate this show tonight to Cheese. Y’all make some noise for Gillie and his son Cheese. Express some positivity!” One couple got hooked up with a trip to Turks & Caicos on Drake

Drake felt extremely generous throughout the course of his tour. In addition to providing the vibes, Drizzy also gave away $30,000 Birkin purses and wads of cash away to lucky fans during shows in select cities. One couple actually cancelled their honeymoon fund in order to attend his concert in Atlanta. After seeing their sign in the crowd, the "Daylight" rapper decided to hook them up with a trip to his favorite place: Turks & Caicos. Drake also gave $50,000 each to a heartbroken fan and another who spent furniture money on tickets

During his shows in September, Drake decided to give away $50,000 to two lucky fans for various reasons. A guy at his stop in Las Vegas held up a sign that said he spent his furniture money on two tickets for both shows in Sin City. Drake sympathized with the fan and hooked him up with 50 bands. A few weeks later at his show in Miami, another dude brought a sign that said, "I spent all my savings buying tickets for me and my ex, but Honestly, Nevermind , it’s really Her Loss ." Drake was so impressed by the sign that he gave the guy $50K just to stunt on his ex.

"You know what? She’s gonna feel real f**ked up ’cause I’ma give you 50 bands so you gon’ flex on her tonight," Drake said. "That’s how we doing it tonight, big dog! It’s your night tonight! And I won’t say it how y’all said it, but f**k that young lady."

Drake shouts out Birdman, Slim, Lil Baby, Rylo Rodriguez & Tom Brady

Speaking of his show in Miami, Drake was surrounded by plenty of special guests who pulled up to watch him perform. Midway through his set, the boy showed up love to Birdman and Slim of Cash Money and then went to the DJ booth where he posted up with Lil Baby, Rylo Rodriguez and the GOAT Tom Brady . Sexyy Red and Central Cee warmed up the crowd

The latter half of Drake's tour was full of surprises. After knocking out their "On The Radar Radio Freestyle," Central Cee joined the tour as an opening act. A couple of weeks later, Drake decided to add Sexyy Red to the lineup. The announcement came as a shock to some fans who were expecting to see her on Moneybagg Yo's tour since she was booked as a supporting act months ago. Nonetheless, her slot on Drake's tour worked out in her favor. Not only did she get to perform her greatest hits, but she also landed on Drake's new song "Rich Baby Daddy" with SZA off his new album For All The Dogs . Drake gives away brand-new car

The boy kept up his generous streak up until the end of his tour. On night one of his two-night finale, the Toronto native raffled off a brand-new Mercedes-Benz G550V G-Wagon to a lucky fan at the Scotiabank Arena. He picked out the winning ticket from the raffle drum and instantly changed one of his fan's life forever. Lil Baby makes surprise appearance in Toronto

21 Savage had trouble getting into Toronto for the second to last night of the tour so Drake had his other brother Lil Baby pull up to the show. Baby came through to the tune of "Wants & Needs." He continued his set with his other collaboration with Drizzy "Yes Indeed." J. Cole & Drake perform "First Person Shooter" for the first time together

Less than 48 hours after he dropped his new album, Drake hit the stage for the final night of the "It's All A Blur Tour." During the show, Drizzy invited J. Cole to come back to Toronto for a special performance. The duo performed their new collaboration "First Person Shooter" together for the first time, and the fans went wild. 21 Savage performs at his first show outside of the U.S. after getting his green card

On the final night of the tour, Drake celebrated the end of 21 Savage's immigration dilemma. The Canadian rapper formally introduced 21 ahead of his first performance outside of the United States. After he made his grand entrance, the fans welcomed 21 by singing the Canadian national anthem. The duo celebrated by performing their hits off Her Loss and "Knife Talk" together for the first time in Drake's hometown. Later on, Drizzy said that the performance was, "hands down the best moment I ever had in my career on stage."

As Drake circled the stage at the center of New York’s Madison Square Garden, urging his fans in a heartfelt speech to be kind to one another, he got sidetracked as a barrage of bras came flying at him in rapid succession.

“It’s easy to pay no mind to… to… sorry, the bra really threw me off,” the hip-hop superstar sputtered Sunday night, kicking aside various undergarments. “I was trying to say something motivational.”

It was a moment of earnestness — overshadowed by boyish humor — that perfectly encapsulates Drake, a serious artist who, thank God, doesn’t take himself too seriously.

Popular on Variety

And boy were there bros, many of whom dressed up exactly like Drake, with matching hairstyles and trimmed beards. Bros hyping each other up and filming each other as they rap every word along with their idol. Bros in NYPD uniforms and badges giddily pulling out their phones to take videos of Drake while dealing with a seating dispute in the aisle. (Yes, that actually happened.)

Drake knows he has a tight grip on his fans, hilariously nodding to that fact by selling a tour T-shirt that says, “I Like What Drake Likes.” He spent much of the show singing and pointing directly at fans in the front row, who screamed back practically every word of every song. During “Laugh Now Cry Later,” the jumbotrons sniped men in the audience who were literally wiping tears from their eyes, overwhelmed with emotion.

And honestly, so was Drake, who paused the show multiple times to express his gratitude and devoted the final moments to honor the late fashion designer Virgil Abloh, noting that “his ideas and his energy is always with us.”

In a downtempo first act, Drake, dressed head to toe in camouflage, opened with “Take Care” deep cut “Look What You’ve Done” before segueing into “Marvin’s Room,” his heartbreak ballad to end all heartbreak ballads.

When he returned for the second set, wearing a military vest adorned with a Nike swoosh, he ascended from beneath the stage to the soaring overture of “Over,” the first single from his debut studio album “Thank Me Later.” For the next half-hour, the concert played like an electrifying highlight reel of Drake’s career, from “The Motto” to “Started From the Bottom” to “Know Yourself” to “Nonstop” to “Nice for What.” During “Headlines,” the stage turned into a Drake-bashing news chyron. On the floor-shaking “Sicko Mode,” he let the audience lead him to the beat drop. And with “God’s Plan,” Drake engaged both sides of the arena in a battle over who could sing a certain lyric louder — you know the one. The best part was that Drake seemed genuinely enthused to perform his decade-old hits, and to watch the crowd erupt as he transitioned from one to the next.

What followed was a less exciting third act in which Drake attempted to “turn Madison Square Garden into the club” with Rihanna’s “Work,” his EDM outing “Massive” and the dancehall-influenced “Controlla” and “One Dance.” From behind a DJ booth, Drake took celebratory shots with opener Lil Yachty, Zack Bia and Davido, among other close friends and collaborators.

Before the final set, Drake ceded the stage and shone a generous spotlight on 21 Savage, who performed a dozen of his own songs solo. Then, sporting yet another new outfit, Drake joined 21 onstage for “Knife Talk,” “Rich Flex” and a few tracks from their 2022 collaborative album “Her Loss.”

Before exiting the Garden, Drake took another stab at a motivational speech, in which he encouraged his fans to be grateful for being alive, and to spend more time with their families. And, in a spiel somewhere between inspiring and self-congratulatory, he went on about the people who doubted him on his road to success.

“A lot of people told me no,” Drake said to the sold-out arena. “You want to know who told me yes? Everybody in this building.”

Some might roll their eyes at one of music’s biggest stars continually framing himself as an underdog, and that’s fine. But the more Drake performs, breathing new life into old classics, with a heavy dose of sincerity, one thing becomes clear: It’s really hard to not like the guy.

The Biggest Names in Hip-Hop Are Embroiled in an Epic Beef. What’s Going On?

Rap’s current infinity war is juicy—and shows no signs of stopping..

When rapper Kendrick Lamar’s famed guest verse on “ Like That “—a song on the album We Don’t Trust You from rapper Future and prominent hip-hop producer Metro Boomin— catapulted onto the charts in early April and instigated a massive fight among some of the biggest names in hip-hop, fans of the genre knew that the coming beef would be sizzling hot . But, in the time since Lamar used the hit song to call out his peers Drake and J. Cole, we have found ourselves in the throes of an all-out rap war among some of the genre’s most prominent titans. “Like That,” which has topped the Hot 100 for three weeks , has instigated a heap of drama so wayward and sprawling—complete with red-herring A.I.-formulated diss track leaks , random interjections from an A-list actress, and confusing claims about Drake and Brazilian butt lifts—that even those familiar with hip-hop might have trouble making heads or tails of it all. For all the pettiness and ridiculousness involved, the conflict has actually touched on some evergreen questions about rap culture—mainly, what constitutes it and what doesn’t—that everyone from journalists to online commenters to prominent Twitch streamers have attempted to weigh in on. If you’re lost in the sauce, don’t worry: Below, we present our best attempt at explaining the Infinity War –like fight that has seemingly captured all of hip-hop.

So, how did this all start?

Let’s go back to Oct. 6 of last year, when Drake released his eighth studio album, For All the Dogs . On “ First Person Shooter ,” one of the album’s hit songs, featured rapper J. Cole makes some complimentary nods to his fellow MCs Drake (whose real name is Aubrey Drake Graham, nickname Drizzy) and Kendrick Lamar (aka K-Dot): “Love when they argue the hardest MC/ Is it K-Dot? Is it Aubrey? Or me?/ We the Big Three, like we started a league/ But right now, I feel like Muhammad Ali.” Ah, the beauty of friendship.

Except, apparently, one of the “Big Three” didn’t like being put in that company. Fast-forward to March 22, when Future and Metro Boomin (who also goes by Metro) released their collaborative album We Don’t Trust You . The breakout single of the album, “ Like That ,” features Lamar putting down any insinuation that he’s a part of the aforementioned triumvirate with the lines: “Motherfuck the Big Three/ N****, it’s just Big Me.” Lamar then goes on to make digs at Drake’s album title—“’Fore all your dogs gettin’ buried/ That’s a K with all these nines, he gon’ see Pet Sematary ”—among other small jabs. Additionally, plenty speculate that some of Future’s slights on the album are also of the anti-Drake variety.

Wait, why did Kendrick Lamar do that? J. Cole’s mention was complimentary, and I thought J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar were friends ?

You hit on a very important piece of this confounding puzzle, which is that all of the rappers in this controversy have a long history of collaborating with each other (though some also have a history of beefing with each other). This is a part of what makes this whole mess slightly bewildering. There must be something they know that we don’t! Regardless, Lamar’s diss on “Like That” caused a whole earthquake of commotion in the rap community (and in the rap journalism community).

OK, so we’ve got Kendrick Lamar, Future, and Metro Boomin on one side, and now J. Cole and Drake left to respond. Did they respond?

Yes, and it opened up a nearly Shakespearean level of feud correspondence, complete with a massive plot twist. Let’s start with Cole. On April 5, shortly after We Don’t Trust You dropped, Cole released a surprise album, Might Delete Later , which featured a song titled “ 7 Minute Drill .” The song, whose title is theorized by some to be a reference to a military drill, includes a response to Lamar. Cole raps, “Your first shit was classic, your last shit was tragic/ Your second shit put N****s to sleep, but they gassed it/ Your third shit was massive and that was your prime.” Not only was this comeback factually untrue—it’s most likely that the second project Cole is referring to is Lamar’s 2015 magnum opus To Pimp a Butterfly , which, instead of putting anyone to sleep, is commonly regarded as one of the best albums of the entire decade, or even of all time —but it was widely clowned by online rap fans who found it to be a weak comeback. Cole continues by suggesting Lamar’s limited output makes him irrelevant: “He averagin’ one hard verse like every thirty months or somethin’/ If he wasn’t dissin’, then we wouldn’t be discussin’ him.”

However, as his album title warns, Cole actually publicly apologized to Lamar days later, before promptly removing the song from streaming services . During his headlining performance at his own music festival, Dreamville Festival, Cole took to the stage and announced to the audience that making the song “didn’t sit right with [his] spirit” and is some of “the lamest, goofiest shit” he’s ever done. He finished by complimenting Lamar again. It’s worth noting that, as Rolling Stone’s Andre Gee explains so perfectly: “J. Cole has a history of passive-aggressively referencing other artists in ways that he can later dismiss as constructive criticism if pressed.” Perhaps best evidenced by Cole’s more recent tiff with female rapper Noname —and subsequent walk back—this behavior shouldn’t be surprising.

Oh! How did fans react to him taking back his rebuttal? That seems rare.

It’s not unheard of for a rapper to take back and/or apologize for a diss: Beanie Sigel did it to Jay-Z, and Jay-Z did it to Nas, for example. But even those actions are widely debated within the rap community, so it’s natural that Cole’s backpedaling would open up an entire discussion about the ethics of dissing in hip-hop culture, as well as what it means to have grown men showing public remorse and taking accountability. It is true that diss tracks and beef are one of the bedrocks of hip-hop , but it is also true that accountability can be healthy. I guess the real question is whether or not you believe Cole would have apologized if the diss itself weren’t so widely mocked.

Wait, what about Drake? Where does he fall into this?

Before we get into the Drake of it all, we have to talk about Future and Metro’s second album.

There was … a second album?!

On April 12, the two collaborators released their follow-up to We Don’t Trust You , called We Still Don’t Trust You , which is littered with what fans believe are sneak disses against the Canadian hitmaker Drake, not only from Future (and, by nature of crafting the album, Metro), but also rapper ASAP Rocky, singer the Weeknd, and yes, a surprise reappearance from Cole.

While Future’s alleged digs at Drake are sprinkled throughout the album (and compiled here ), it’s the tracks featuring other artists that really lit a fire on Al Gore’s internet. On the track “All to Myself,” the Weeknd takes jabs at Drake, his former close collaborator, singing, “They could never diss my brothers, baby/ When they got leaks in they operation/ I thank God that I never signed my life away.” Fans speculate that this is a reference to when the Weeknd almost signed to Drake’s label, OVO Sound, but instead signed with Republic Records, which is often reported as the first sign of the dissolution of their friendship.

On the track “Show of Hands,” Rocky tags himself in on the Drake verbal beatdown, lamenting that he wasn’t invited to jump in on the first wave of the action: “Call up Pluto, Metro, should’ve put me on the first one/ N****s swear they bitch the baddest, I just bagged the worst one/ N****s in they feelings over women, what, you hurt or somethin’?” These comments are widely believed to be alluding to the infamous brief relationship between Drake and Rihanna, Rocky’s current partner and the mother of his children . Many believe these insults are likely retaliation for Drake’s many alleged digs at Rocky on For All the Dogs , some of which are also thought to be about Rihanna. On “Show of Hands,” Rocky (nickname: Pretty Flacko) continues by seemingly claiming that he had a relationship with the mother of Drake’s child before Drake did—“I smash before you birthed, son/ Flacko hit it first, son”—and he mocks For All the Dogs for lacking quality . Though the two rappers have a rocky history, the vitriolic level of distaste Rocky expresses on the track is still surprising.

The final anti-Drake messages on We Still Don’t Trust You aren’t explicit disses so much as suggestions of guilt by association. Surprisingly, this includes none other than J. Cole, who appears on the track “Red Leather.” Though Cole doesn’t take a direct shot in his lyrics, his presence on the album—the project itself primarily a Drake takedown—and his recent public apology have confused many. Cole clearing his verse for We Still Don’t Trust You gets even more interesting when you consider the fact that Cole finished touring with Drake last month. Similarly, rapper Rick Ross is featured on the album, and while he seemingly doesn’t diss Drake, his presence on the album (and his subsequent unfollowing of Drake on social media) hints at a real rift between the two.

What did Drake do to incur this ire from everyone in the business?

It seems like the entire internet is asking the same question. It’s entirely unclear what Drake did specifically to make everyone mad. Sure, some of the shots at him are simple retaliation (like in Rocky’s case), but this does seem like a sudden onslaught.

Did Drake respond?

On Saturday, an alleged Drake demo, titled “ Push Ups (Drop and Give Me 50) ,” was leaked online. While some fans insisted the track was the product of A.I. , others insisted that it was real. DJ Akademiks, a prominent conservative livestreamer who discusses hip-hop, was purportedly given access to the real version—which had better mixing, new lyrics, different production, and, to his surprise , a sample of an Akademiks video clip—confirming the legitimacy of the leak. Around the same time, a second diss track, titled “ Hi Whitney ,” was leaked to the internet, but Akademiks said that Drake texted him on Sunday night to confirm that that was, indeed, A.I.

Before we get any further, let me make sure I’m getting this right: Future, Metro Boomin, and Kendrick Lamar dissed J. Cole and Drake. Cole then shot back at Lamar, but later apologized. A follow-up anti-Drake (or at least strongly hinted to be so) album was released, which not only tagged ASAP Rocky, the Weeknd, and Rick Ross into the brawl, but also featured Cole (who maybe switched sides). Now, a Drake response to the mounting opposition leaked on the internet. Did I nail all that?

Yes, good job! Let’s continue. On “Push Ups,” Drake airs out his beef with everyone . Every single line of the song is a jab at someone, whether thinly veiled or overt, so I’m going to break it down by each subject found in Drake’s crosshairs. If you want an in-depth analysis, I would suggest perusing lyrical breakdowns .

The track predominantly concerns itself with Lamar. Drake makes fun of Lamar’s shorter stature, asking “How the fuck you big steppin’ with a size seven men’s on?” (That shoe-size allegation has been debunked by an LA sneaker boutique , which claims to have gifted Lamar pairs of shoes ranging from sizes 8.5 to 9.) Drake goes on to shame Lamar for what he perceives as a bad business deal, using the song’s title and refrain to allege that the head of Lamar’s former label, Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, was claiming 50 percent of Lamar’s publishing revenue: “cause Top told you drop and give me 50 like some push-ups, huh.” The line (and the refrain) is also possibly a double entendre reference to this viral video of Lamar doing push-ups. Drake also makes fun of Lamar for having features on songs by Maroon 5 and Taylor Swift, and he goes one step further by potentially name-checking Lamar’s fiancée Whitney Alford with the line “I be with some bodyguards like Whitney.”

Additionally, Drake says that he is responsible for Future’s first No. 1 hit—“I could never be nobody number-one fan/ Your first number one, I had to put it in your hand”—a reference to the fact that Future’s first No. 1 song came via a guest feature on Drake’s hit “ Way 2 Sexy .” Meanwhile, Drake’s hits at the Weeknd are even more personal, as a result of their having known each other for more than a decade. Drake claims that the Weeknd’s (whose real name is Abel Tesfaye) managing team (which includes Amir “Cash” Esmailian) is taking advantage of him: “And when you boys got rich, you had to run from it/ Cash blowin’ Abel bread, out here trickin’.” Drake finishes his jabs with an attempt at emasculating the singer via a knock on the Weeknd’s label, XO, saying, “hugs and kisses, man, don’t tell me ’bout no switches.”

But it doesn’t stop there. Drake brings Ross more firmly into the fold by calling out Ross’ history as a correctional officer with: “I might take your latest girl and cuff her like I’m Ricky.” He continues by alleging that he had a heavy hand in Ross’ success and basically asks, Aren’t you too old for this? : “Can’t believe he jumpin’ in, this N**** turnin’ 50/ Every song that made it on the chart, he got from Drizzy.” Though it’s been removed from the final version, the leaked demo also included a line seemingly implicating Ross in Sean “Puff Daddy”/“Diddy” Combs’ current sexual assault allegations and lawsuits , with the line “Every song that made it on the chart he got from Drizzy/ Worry about whatever’s goin on with you and —.” Drake also brings up NBA player Ja Morant, who supported We Still Don’t Trust You via social media (by reiterating a quote he’s known for ), and who has a history of allegedly butting heads with Drake going back to rumors that Morant became romantically involved with Drake’s purported ex. Regarding Morant, Drake rhymes: “Shoutout to the hooper that be bustin’ out the griddy/ We know why you mad, N**** I ain’t even trippin’/ All that lil heartbroken Twitter shit for bitches.”

As far as Metro Boomin is concerned, Drake tells the producer to “shut your ho-ass up and make some drums.” Cole comes off the easiest, with Drake simply admonishing Cole’s apology to Lamar, saying, “I don’t care what Cole think, that Dot shit was weak as fuck.” He also addresses everyone, chiding them for ganging up on him by saying it’s “20-v-1,” alleging that their issues were seeds sown long ago, and warning that he knows more dirt than what he divulges on the song. Additionally, he brings up the fact that other artists (specifically SZA, Travis Scott, and 21 Savage) are more successful than all of his newfound enemies. Though he removed it from the final version of the song, the demo also included an explicit reference to Lamar’s comments—“It’s me twice in my Big Three, I had to leave you out”—and insinuations that some have reached out to Drake trying to quell the drama, which he rejects: “Y’all drew the line, what the fuck we gotta speak about?”

Woof. That is … a lot. Is that it?

Not even close. First, let’s pause for a moment to appreciate SZA’s funny response to her name being dropped on Saturday; she posted the meme of Real Housewives of Atlanta ’s NeNe Leaks saying “Now, why am I in it?” to her Instagram stories.

Back at the ranch, though, the drama is very much still unfolding. Shortly after Drake’s “Push Ups” was released, Ross premiered his own diss track, called “ Champagne Moments ” (Drake’s Instagram handle is @ChampagnePapi), on DJ Akademiks’ livestream before releasing it on streaming . On the track, Ross goes over familiar territory with his Drake insults by bringing up the long-standing rumors that Drake uses ghostwriters, and making fun of Drake’s mixed race by calling him “white boy.” Additionally, Ross accuses Drake of getting a nose job to lessen his ethnic appearance—“You ain’t never want to be a N**** anyway, N****/ That’s why you had a operation to make your nose smaller than your father nose”—and of stealing the flow of Drake’s mentor, Lil Wayne. Ross also tsk-tsks Drake for allegedly leaking his responses instead of directly addressing his foes—“N****s leakin’ they records when we speakin’ directly/ If we keepin’ it gangsta, when you see me, you check me”—and explains that he unfollowed Drake because, allegedly, the Canadian rapper sent a cease-and-desist letter to fellow rapper French Montana. (The public has been speculating about the details of this alleged letter ever since.)

Ross also took his issues to social media in a flurry of posts, some of which refer to Drake as “ BBL Drizzy ,” insinuating that Drake has gotten a Brazilian butt lift. Drake posted a screenshot of a text message conversation with his mother to his Instagram stories , where they talked about the diss track and joked about Ross’ suggestion that Drake got cosmetic surgery. In the texts, Drake pokes fun at Ross’ weight loss efforts, claiming Ross has “gone loopy off the Mounjaro,” Mounjaro being a weight loss medication. On Monday morning, Ross tweeted telling Drake to respond . Over the past few days, Ross has made plenty of videos slandering Drake as well as the rapper Birdman, who said that he sided with Drake in the war.

On Monday morning, a purported response track from Lamar was leaked , but it’s up for debate whether it’s legitimate or the work of A.I., with much of the public consensus leaning toward the latter.

Holy moly.

But wait! I’m not done. Even Uma Thurman got in on the action.

Kill Bill ’s Uma Thurman?

The very same! On Sunday, Drake posted a still from Kill Bill Vol. 1 to his Instagram stories, alluding to his battle against multiple assailants in the rap game. Apparently Thurman still has her iconic costume in her storage, which she took a photo of, posted to her Instagram stories, and tagged Drake in, asking: “Need this?” Drake responded “Yes pls. The pen is the Hattori Hanzo,” which is Drake’s way of comparing his lyricism to the famous sword Thurman’s character wields in the movie.

Wow, that sure is—

I’m still not done. The story is continuing to develop as more rappers stake claims in the beef, like Lupe Fiasco saying Drake is a better rapper than Lamar, and the Game seemingly also siding with Champagne Papi. On Tuesday, Metro Boomin and Future announced their “We Trust You” tour , set to embark this summer. Meanwhile, at the time of writing, Ross is still posting slanderous mocking comments to his Instagram stories about Drake and Birdman, most of which involve Ross claiming he has more money than them.

Well, I feel enlightened now. Just to be safe: Are there any more updates yet? Any other responses to Drake’s diss?

Given that “Push Ups” is mostly aimed at Lamar, fans are waiting to see how he, specifically, will respond. Still, there’s been no official word from anyone else except Ross (yet, anyway). But I’m sure this is far from over.

Future & Metro Boomin Clowned By Drake Fans Over Tour Sales

Metro Boomin and Future will be embarking on the tour in July.

Dior Homme : Outside Arrivals - Paris Fashion Week - Menswear F/W 2018-2019

Drake fans are clowning Future and Metro Boomin on social media for the sales of their upcoming We Don't Trust You tour . According to Touring Data , the duo has sold 177,318 tickets across North America with 43.13% sold. The tickets for the tour went on sale on Friday.

Drake fans were quick to attack the two in the replies to the post. "Don’t y’all see why streams don’t matter? Touring is where the real money in music is. Your music can be at the top of the music charts but doesn’t mean people actually care about you." Others came to Metro and Future's defense, suggesting it's only been a couple of days since the shows went on sale. "43% in 2 days means everything is almost paid for, it’ll be all profit by May/early June. This is good for a non-pop hiphop tour," one user wrote.

J. Cole apologizes to Kendrick Lamar for 'lame' diss '7 Minute Drill': 'I was conflicted'

'We Don't Trust You' and 'We Still Don't Trust You' vs. Drake: Diss tracks explained

Future and Metro Boomin's "We Don't Trust You," released March 22, and "We Still Don't Trust You," released April 12, unleashed grievances other rappers had with Toronto rapper Drake.

Lamar, Cole and Drake are widely recognized as their rap class' "Big Three," the most recognizable stars in the genre over the past decade. Cole referred to himself, Drake (Aubrey Graham) and Lamar (K. Dot) as the "big three" in modern rap in Drake's 2023 song "First Person Shooter."

Lamar shut down the "big three" line on the "We Don't Trust You" track "Like That." In the song, he called out "First Person Shooter" by name and said "it's just big me" when it comes to rap titans.

Following the diss, J. Cole dropped a surprise album, "Might Delete Later," which included "7 Minute Drill," where Cole alluded to hearing about Lamar's diss, rapping, "I got a phone call, they say that somebody dissing / You want some attention, it come with extensions."

"He still doing shows but fell off like 'The Simpsons,'" the North Carolina rapper continued, adding that Lamar's first album was "classic" and his latest was "tragic."

But two days later,  at his Dreamville Festival,  J. Cole told his home state crowd during a headlining set that his diss track was a "lame" and "goofy" decision, in  videos captured by attendees .

J. Cole later appeared as a guest on the "We Still Don't Trust You" track "Red Leather," a seven-minute song that features an apparent swipe at Drake.

"Kept my nose out the streets, but I love to get a whiff / Of the action, with risk comes attraction / The blicks get to blastin’, I turn into a track star,” Cole raps on the track, who also said that his "story's more clever, my similes was better."

Rapper A$AP Rocky, who is the longtime boyfriend of Drake's ex  Rihanna,  also took shots at Drake on the "We Still Don't Trust You" track "Show of Hands," saying the Canadian rapper's latest music "came and went" and he didn't "trust" him.

The Weeknd joined the band wagon on "We Still Don't Trust You," remarking on the track "All to Myself" that he's glad never "signed (his) life away" to Drake's OVO label. He also took aim at Drake's "shooters," joking that they're too busy "making TikToks."

Future didn't let his features have all the fun. On the track "This Sunday," Future seemingly interpolates the chorus of Drake’s 2016 song "Feel No Ways" by telling his former "Life Is Good" collaborator that he doesn't care if Drake "feel a way" about all the disses.

Drake has yet to issue a formal response to the diss tracks, although a rumored single allegedly called "Push Ups" was leaked on social media Saturday that seemingly addresses Lamar and Metro Boomin.
