REAL MADRID

Real Madrid 2024 USA pre-season tour: Where is Real Madrid playing this summer in the US?

Los blancos confirmed a pre-season tour of the united states, but where are their games and when will they be played.

Joe Brennan

El Clásico is, once again, coming to the US . Real Madrid confirmed their plans to host a pre-season tour in the United States and will travel across the country showcasing the squad of the 14-time Champions League winners in what has become something of a tradition for the club. Carlo Ancelotti’s side have travelled to the US before, but this year will see them embark on their most exciting tour yet .

Madrid are currently fighting for the LaLiga title and the Champions League, but as soon as their season finishes, plans will be put into action to get the squad rested and recovered for the new season .

🇺🇸 Our USA SUMMER TOUR presented by @HP 1️⃣ 31/07 vs @ACMilan (Chicago) 2️⃣ 03/08 vs @FCBarcelona (New York) 3️⃣ 06/08 vs @ChelseaFC (Charlotte) ⚽ Soccer Champions Tour 24 pic.twitter.com/C5XaN9shPJ — Real Madrid C.F. 🇬🇧🇺🇸 (@realmadriden) March 19, 2024

AC Milan, 31 July, Soldier Field Stadium, Chicago

Madrid’s first match in the Soccer Champions Tour 2024 will be against legendary Italian side, AC Milan . Stefano Pioli’s side have been a force to be reckoned with in recent seasons, having seen players such as Christian Pulisic take a huge leap forward and propel them to second in Serie A.

Madrid played against AC Milan in a pre-season friendly in 2021 , where the two sides were held to a goalless draw in Austria. The game was David Alaba’s debut in the Madridista shirt. More recently, the two sides played in 2023, with the Spaniards coming away with a slim 3-2 win, thanks to a late Vinicius Jr goal.

Barcelona, 3 August, MetLife Stadium, New York

The second game to be played will be the big one. Barcelona and Real Madrid will play each other in a US El Clásico at the end of July in New York’s MetLife Stadium . The last time the world’s biggest fixture was brought stateside, it was a whitewash from the Catalans, who saw Dembelé, Fermín and Ferran scored to make it 3-0 in a game that saw Ancelotti’s side have a whopping 29 shots.

🤩🇺🇸 We're going back to the USA! 🙌 Introducing our 2024 USA Summer Tour, presented by @HP pic.twitter.com/anWi51fuHw — Real Madrid C.F. 🇬🇧🇺🇸 (@realmadriden) March 19, 2024

Chelsea, 6 August, Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte

Real Madrid have plenty of recent history with Chelsea . They played back in the Champions League in the 21/22 season, with Los Blancos securing a memorable passage through to the semi-finals in extremis . Since then, the fortunes of both clubs have gone in opposite directions, with Real Madrid vying for the title while the London club struggling for form domestically and finding themselves in mid-table in the Premier League standings , behind the likes of Fulham and West Ham United.

A total of five teams will take part in the tournament . As well as the teams that Real Madrid will face in their part of the tour, Manchester City will also be involved , taking on both Barcelona and AC Milan.

Given the busy summer , Ancelotti’s team will have an extraordinarily short training camp , which will not take place in the usual UCLA training camp. The Euros take place between June 14 and July 14; the Olympic Games are from July 26 to August 11; the possible European Super Cup is set to be held on August 14, meaning the three matches instead of four will be played in a seven-day period .

real madrid fc tour

Global soccer giants set to face off in major U.S. markets from July 22 – August 2

Series backed by new Sixth Street portfolio company built to bring epic soccer matchups to local fans around the world.

Santa Clara, CA ( May 12, 2023) – Soccer Champions Tour today announced the launch and schedule for a new series of games featuring six of the world’s most iconic soccer clubs to be played this summer in major markets across the United States. Spain’s Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, Italy’s Juventus and AC Milan, and England’s Arsenal and Manchester United will compete in eight matches between Saturday, July 22, and Wednesday, August 2, 2023.

The 2023 Soccer Champions Tour is the first time these six clubs, which hold among them 31 European trophies, have participated together in a U.S. series. The eight fixtures will take place in host market stadiums in Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Orlando, and San Francisco.

Highlights of the 2023 Soccer Champions Tour include Spanish giants Real Madrid and FC Barcelona meeting in Texas for the first time ever at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys; Manchester United and Real Madrid facing off for the first time since 2018; FC Barcelona and Arsenal competing in a rematch of the 2006 European final; and Italian rivals AC Milan and Juventus playing each other in California for the first time in their more than 120-year histories.

Soccer Champions Tour was created by a newly formed company of global investment firm Sixth Street to support the continued global growth of top-tier sports franchises by organizing high-profile, competitive events for the millions of fans that live outside the domestic markets of the biggest clubs.

“We are proud to be partnering with the world’s most storied clubs, which have the world’s strongest and most passionate supporters, to provide this rare opportunity for American fans to experience the game at the highest level,” said Alan Waxman, Co-Founder and CEO at Sixth Street. “While this year’s tour consists of men’s clubs, we look forward to expanding next summer to bring the world’s best women’s clubs to local audiences around the globe, and in the future to evolve this series into a format with real games of consequence.”

In addition to men’s and women’s professional club matches, the tour also intends to organize elite youth academy competitions in the years to come.

Soccer Champions Tour is working closely with global premium experiences company Legends to bring these marquee matchups and elevated in-game experiences to local fans of the game.

Added Shervin Mirhashemi, CEO, Legends: “Legends is proud to bring fans of the beautiful game this unforgettable experience this summer and deliver a fan experience that will match the world-class soccer on the pitch. We can’t wait to see stadiums filled across the United States with fans cheering on some of the best clubs in the world as they compete in the Soccer Champions Tour.”

The 2023 Soccer Champions Tour is being produced in partnership with AEG, the world’s leading sports and live entertainment company.

“AEG is excited about the partnership with Soccer Champions Tour and Legends to bring the most successful soccer clubs in the world to fans across the U.S.,” said Tom Braun, Sr. Vice President, Soccer & Business Operations and Business Development at AEG. “Every matchup in this series is of the highest caliber and we’re thrilled that American soccer fans will have the opportunity to see these epic games featuring legendary teams live and in person.”

Real Madrid vs. Barcelona live stream: El Clasico start time, where to watch, how to watch, odds

It's el clasico with two teams heading in different directions.

clasico.jpg

It's time for El Clasico between Real Madrid vs. BArcelona, a game usually filled with high stakes, showcasing the best of what La Liga and the world of soccer has to offer. Not this Sunday. It's a match that shows the widening gap between the two teams as Real Madrid look to make another statement.

Real Madrid:  Unbeaten in 16 straight matches since being knocked out of the Copa Del Rey, Los Blancos are marching toward their second La Liga title in the last three seasons. Led by Jude Bellingham , Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior , there isn't much that has been able to stand in Real Madrid's way and Barcelona in this Clasico won't be any different.

Barcelona:  Clasicos are a good time to measure team strength and this one couldn't be coming at a worse time for Barcelona. While they could pull off a victory in the match due to the team becoming healthier by the day, it also wouldn't mean much when it can't propel them to the title while Xavi's future is still up in the air. For Barcelona, it's a time to look for improvements from players as an eye begins to turn toward next season.

Barcelona's defense may have improved this season but it won't be enough to push them to a victory in a tough away clash against Real Madrid.  Pick: Real Madrid 3, Barcelona 1

All our updates as Real Madrid beat Barcelona 3-2 in Spanish league’s El Clasico at Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid.

This page is now closed. Thanks for joining us. These were the updates as Real Madrid beat Barcelona 3-2 in La Liga on Sunday, April 21:

  • Real Madrid beat Barcelona 3-2 in the Spanish football league’s biggest fixture, El Clasico.
  • Jude Bellingham scored an injury-time winner as Madrid twice came from behind to move 11 points clear of their rivals.
  • League leaders Madrid all but cemented a 36th La Liga title.
  • Defending champions Barcelona lost the home fixture 0-1 in October.
  • Real Madrid also won the Supercopa version of the El Clasico when they were crowned 2024 Supercopa champions with a 4-1 score in Saudi Arabia earlier this year.

Goodbye for now

That’s it from our live coverage of El Clasico.

Real Madrid move 11 points clear at the top of La Liga despite Barcelona twice taking the lead at the Bernabeu.

Jude Bellingham’s 91st-minute winner has surely handed Madrid their 36th league title with only six games to play.

Barcelona’s miserable week is complete after they crashed out of the Champions League while Madrid progressed to the semifinals.

We hope you enjoyed the coverage and can join us again soon for more live action. Stay across Al Jazeera Sport in the meantime for all our news and features.

For now, though – from me Kevin Hand – it’s goodbye.

League title number 36 awaits for Madrid

Only six games remain for Barcelona to overturn an 11-point lead for Madrid.

Jude Bellingham’s strike may have won it in injury time but surely a draw wouldn’t have been enough for Xavi’s side to mount a serious title push at this late stage.

Madrid move 11 points clear of Barcelona

Having come from behind twice, Madrid move 11 points clear of Barca at the top of La Liga and that must be that for the title race.

Jude Bellingham’s 17th goal of the season sealed an incredible El Clasico for the home side.

Madrid have done it. They’ve come from behind twice to extend their lead at the top of La Liga and put one hand on the title.

GOAL! Real Madrid 3-2 Barcelona

Jude Bellingham drives home a left-footed shot from a tight angle to perhaps win not only the match but La Liga too!

90+1 minutes: Real Madrid 3-2 Barcelona

Madrid mount more pressure

Luka Modric sends the ball into the box and Eder Militao stabs wide of goal from close range. Another big chance goes begging for Real.

86 minutes: Real Madrid 2-2 Barcelona

Modric booked for Real Madrid

The home team’s captain is shown a yellow card for tripping Joao Felix.

84 minutes: Real Madrid 2-2 Barcelona

Vinicius Junior not happy as he comes off for Madrid

The Brazilian forward’s night is over. He was booked just a few minutes ago, which may have added to the decision.

Jules Kounde was also booked for his role in a confrontation between the pair.

82 minutes: Real Madrid 2-2 Barcelona

Vinicius Junior goes close to giving Madrid the lead for the first time

The Brazilian races onto Andriy Lunin’s ball forward but Marc-Andre ter Stegen denies him with a fine save at the near post.

78 minutes: Real Madrid 2-2 Barcelona

Madrid make a double change

In amongst it all, there are two more changes for Madrid as Brahim Diaz and Fran Garcia come on for Toni Kroos and Eduardo Camavinga.

75 minutes: Real Madrid 2-2 Barcelona

GOAL! Real Madrid 2-2 Barcelona

Vinicius Junior whips a ball across the Barca goals and Lucas Vazquez is there to turn it in with his right foot for Real at the back post.

El Clasico takes another twist and so too does the title race.

73 minutes: Real Madrid 2-2 Barcelona

Chaos in the Real Madrid box

Lamine Yamal is, as ever, at the centre of things for Barca.

The forward sends in a cross that is met by Ferran Torres, who attempts a backheel.

The effort doesn’t come off but Madrid keeper Andriy Lunin’s interception falls to Fermin to capitalise from point-blank range.

70 minutes: Real Madrid 1-2 Barcelona

GOAL! Real Madrid 1-2 Barcelona

Fermin restores Barca’s lead and La Liga could be about to burst wide open at the top between the two rivals.

69 minutes: Real Madrid 1-2 Barcelona

Barcelona make a double change

65 minutes: Real Madrid 1-1 Barcelona

Lewandowski fails to hit the target for Barcelona

Ronald Araujo sends the ball forward for Robert Lewandowski, who pulls it under control but fires high and wide from the right side of the area.

62 minutes: Real Madrid 1-1 Barcelona

Barcelona look for a penalty

Fermin goes down in the box looking for a penalty.

Antonio Rudiger, who made the tackle, is less that impressed.

Most importantly, the ref isn’t interested and tells the Barca player to get up.

58 minutes: Real Madrid 1-1 Barcelona

Real Madrid hit Barcelona on the break

Vinicius Junior is put through by Jude Bellingham but sent slightly wide.

The Brazilian gets his shot away from an angle, but sends it wide of the top-right corner.

Lucas Vazquez is booked for a foul on Joao Cancelo.

51 minutes: Real Madrid 1-1 Barcelona

Real Madrid’s first shot of the second half

Vinicius Junior lays on to Jude Bellingham, who turns and lets fly from just outside the box.

The effort is directly at the keeper.

50 minutes: Real Madrid 1-1 Barcelona

Barcelona’s first attempt of the second half

Lamine Yamal attempts a left-footed shot from outside the box but it’s straight at the Real Madrid keeper.

48 minutes: Real Madrid 1-1 Barcelona

Barcelona bring off Christensen at the break

Barcelona have made a change at the break as Fermín López replaces goalscorer Andreas Christensen.

47 minutes: Real Madrid 1-1 Barcelona

Under way in the second half: Real Madrid 1-1 Barcelona

Real could put one hand on the La Liga trophy within the next 45 minutes.

El Clasico is in the balance

The Lamine Yamal effort that was cleared off the line remains the big talking point of the match. Unless Barcelona win it, then that will rankle with the away team well beyond the final whistle.
