Early morning, board your vehicle to get you to Lohajung Its a long journey and reaching Lohajung early will help

▼Day 2 Trekking Day Didina

Today after breakfast, we have a small briefing on the trek and most importantly the team introduction. After we wrap up formalities quicly, we get ready for the trek. Our loads are packed and there we are, ready to hit the trail.

Our trail for the day is easier as compared to the entire trek and soon we get lost in the beauty of it. We trek through the forest following the Neel Ganga. The trail is initially easy which then starts to climb up steadily.  As the trek continues, we get set into it and start negotiating the climb to Ali Bugiyal. After a good climb, we reach our destination for the day.

Didina is a beautiful campsite and we spend rest of the time exploring the place.

▼Day 3 Trekking Day Bedni Bugiyal

As we start the day, to leave our campsite at Didina behind and begin with an easy trek up to Tolapani. Tolapani is a cluster of some 6/7 huts of shepherds. It makes the place very picturesque and we spend some time here.

After Tolapani, we now start to negotiate switch-backs through the forest for about 2 hour which brings us to one of the best Himalayan meadows - Ali Bugyal. Its a lovely meadow amidst the forest and takes our heart instantly. We spend some good time here depending upon the weather.

One more of a finest bugyals is waiting for us and we head towards i, yes - The Bedni Bugyal. It takes some good walk of around 2.5 hours to reach Bedni Bugyal from Ali Bugyal. Once we reach we know why it is regarded as one of the best campsites in the Himalayas.

In the evening, do not forget to click some reflection of the beautiful Trishul on the Bedni Kund, a small lake in the campsite.

▼Day 4 Trekking Day Baghuabasa

Our morning is delightful today with views of great number of Himalayan peaks like Trishul, Nandaghungti. Chaukhamba and Nilkantha. The sight definitely energizes us all as we prepare to start the trek for the day. We can see our route through the mountains as we are above tree line now. The trail is a easy walk and soon reach Ghora Lotani.

From Ghora Lotani, Patharnachauni is a gradual ascend. It is marked by the green trekker's hut built by the Forest Department for trekkers to rest for the night. From here our climb becomes tougher as we now start negotiating the switch backs to ascend Kullu Vinayak. Its a 2 hour steep climb. This stretch tests our mental stamina and physical health too. The Kalu Vinayaka top is marked by a small temple of lord Ganesha.

Baghua Basa is an easy walk from Kalu Vinayak top. The trail gently climbs down and take a slow left turn to reach the campsite of Baghua Basa, which too has green Trekker's hut.

Enjoy the beauty around !!

▼Day 5 Trekking Day Sheela Samudra

Today is a special day for us. We begin our climb to Roopkund which takes us around 3 hours. The trail climbs up steadily and the last stretch is a good steep climb for an hour. We will find many trekkers walking on this trail and once we reach, we spend some time resting and enjoying the place

We are to cross the Junargali and hence do not have much time to kill. Much difficult task is still to be completed and we get ready for it and that's climbing the Junairagali Pass. We are up against a very steep wall of hard snow and is difficult to climb without support of ice axe. The fall is exposed and a slip can be fatal. Hence rope is necessary. Anti slip traction crampons can help if there is too much hard snow. Its takes about an hour to climb to the top.

The descend from the pass top to Sheela Samudra is a sharp one initially which requires good concentration. Snow makes it further trickier. Its best advised to follow the trusted steps of your guide here. Around 2 hours of continuous descend brings us to our campsite marked by a huge boulder which acts like a wind shield.

Its been a tiring but rewarding day. So rest out the day glancing the beauty of Trishul which is so close by from here.

day5 photo - the trail to roopkund from baghuabasa

▼Day 6 Rest Day Sheela Samudra

Rest and local exploration day.

Sheela Samudra, as the name means - sea of rocks. The name could not be perfect. The view of the glacier flowing down Trishul is nothing but a huge system with lots of broken tarns and huge boulders. Gushing wind, Sounds of cracking avalanches and waterfalls which starts flowing in afternoon and freezes out again by evening are very common here.

Sighting vultures and other birds are another common thing. Bring your camera to good use on this day. This day also helps us serve the important acclimatization.

day6 photo - glacier scape of sheela samudra

▼Day 7 Trekking Day Dodang

We feel fresh after a rest day and are fully prepared to tackle the day. We start off slowly and soon find ourself crossing the boulders of Sheela Samudra. We witness numeric tarns of the once a mighty glacier. The route then follows the  Nandakini river climbing gradually upwards, though some part of the trail is unmarked and very slippery with almost no distinct trail. We need to be careful in these sections.

Our campsite is marked by a huge boulder forming a cave.  Look back at Junargali from here and you will be thrilled. Rest the day out.

day7 photo - enroute dodang from sheelasamudra towards ronti

▼Day 8 Trekking Day Dodang

Its a difficult, but most important day today for us, as we hit the trail to reach our goal for this trek - The Ronti Saddle .

We start our trek early. After some easy trek we come across a sharp ridge breaking down from its right hand side, almost like a 90 degree slab of mud. We take the trail little downside on the left side of the ridge which looks safer. The rigde slowly turns right to bring you to Homkund.

After offering prayers, we start to climb up the steep snowy climb to the Ronti Saddle. Initial scrambles and walk over the boulders for some 2 kilometers and then zig zakking through the snow field, we reach the top. Its a 2 hour steep and strenuous climb from Homkund to Ronti Saddle.

The views offered from the top of Ronti Saddle is breath taking. Ronti Peaks 1, 2 ; Trishul 1, 2, 3 ; Nanda Ghungti ; Dronagiri looks just amazing and a sight only the lucky few gets. The summit of Nandaghungti looks quite teasing from this point. We spend as much time as possible keeping the weather in mind, as this is the day and the place we worked hard for, all these days !!

We start to descend the same route and it takes us couple of hours to reach back Do Dang from here. We have returned with a fulfilling experience. The sight and achievement does not leave our mind.

day8 photo - the broken ridge towards homkund

▼Day 9 Trekking Day Latakhopri

This is an eventful day with a eventful river crossing to do. Its a long day and the river crossing is the trickier part. Once thats done, we take it easy to reach our campsite at Lata Khopri. The trek passes through some of the deep lush green forest of the Nanda Devi Biosphere. Its a beautiful campsite amidst the deep jungle.

With all views blocked by the jungle, today is the time to do some macro photography.

day9 photo - chandaniya ghat

▼Day 10 Trekking Day Sutol

The descend down to Sutol is a picturesque one which descends down through the forest. Sutol is a beautiful village with a temple, shop and few homes. Do use your camera to the fullest as after a hard trek, you get to see some locals, houses, river, bridge, temples, domestic animals and conversations with the locals. You may chose to take a bath in the river as well.

day10 photo - villagers from sutol

▼Day 11 Trekking Day Ghat

Our descend back to civilization ends today as we hit the trail with great energy. There comes few shops on the way where we can satisfy our crunch for normal eateries. About 4 hours of walk get you down to the motor head where your cab will be waiting to take you down to Ghat, where our trek ends.

It has been a wonderful trek with wonderful people all around and offcourse the Mighty and Godly Himalayas were there always to motivate and support you. Congratulations for completing a wonderful trek.

Yes Yes, we do have a blasting party to celebrate it.

▼Day 12 Trekking Day Rishikesh

Today we drive back to Rishikesh ending our beautiful trek

 Ronti Saddle Trek introduction

Ronti Saddle is a saddle between the glorious Himalayan peaks of Nanda Ghungti and Trishul closer to the Nanda Devi ...

Ronti Saddle Trek

Ronti Saddle is a saddle between the glorious Himalayan peaks of Nanda Ghungti and Trishul closer to the Nanda Devi Inner Sanctuary.

The trek to Ronti Saddle is approached from the more popular Roopkund side and you enter the Sheela Samudra valley once you cross over the Junairagali Pass above Roopkund. A sharp descend from the Junairagali pass gets you to the vast and remote grassland of the Sheela Samudra. The name Sheela ( rocks ) Samudra ( sea ) translates to 'Sea of Rocks' and is given to the glacier coming down from the might Trishul. If there is some noise in this valley, it is of the frequent ice breaking and falling down from Trishul, feeding the Sheela Samudra glacier. Here, you will only find yourself and few 'Keeda Jadi, Yartse Gumba' pluckers during the months of June.

The trek after Sheela Samudra climbs up following the Nandakini river to the campsite of Do Dang ( 2 rocks ). It then treks over a broken ridge with sharp verticle fall on one side to takes us to Homkund - a small lake mostly under snow. From Homkund, the trek starts climbing to Ronti Saddle.

Ronti Saddle Homkund Trek

We can either cross over the Saddle ( recently a team of Bengali Trekkers has done that in September), but mostly will come back to Do Dang and exit via Ghat, trekking through the deep forest cover of Lata Khopri and the villages of Sutol and Sitel, following the Nandakini River.

Roopkund - The Skeletal Lake

The sight of the beautiful circular glacial lake, emerald in colour, in the covering of snow all round it with tall mountain walls rising over it. This sight inspires a mixed feeling - fearful, unbelievable, surprising, exquisite and what not !!

The Lake does look appealing to the eyes and is definitely photogenic, but what gives the lake its real worth is the name which it has got for itself - The Skeletal Lake . There are lots of other lakes in the Himalayas much beautiful than the Roopkund, but this lake is special. The mystery surrounding the lake due to lots of scattered human bones which are too big for the current generation of Indians, is what makes Roopkund one of the most sought after trek in the Himalayas. It took the World by its imaginations and lots of theories are available on the cause of the mass death around the lake. Recently, the theory reasoning a pilgrimage hit by a massive hail storm causing the tragic death is more believable as per a research study.

Bedni Bugyal - Ali Bugyal

In this trek, we come across 2 of the most beautiful meadows in Uttrakhand - the Bedni Bugyal and Ali Bugyal. The soft mattress of green grasses feels just wonderful, and is even beautiful with sheep grazing on them. Hovered by beautiful snow covered peaks of Chowkhambha, Trishul, and others, this is one of the most photogenic Bugyals you may come across.

The Sad Story Of Roopkund

Roopkund is perhaps one of the best treks to do in the Himalayas. Until recently, it was peaceful with few odd trekkers trekking in self organized small groups. The current scenario of this trek is very saddening. With unsurpassed and unregulated rise of irresponsible trekking agencies in India, and the false hype created by the online content marketing websites has made a huge negative impact on this trek.

The situation is such that in the pre-monsoon season of May-Jun, atleast 100 trekkers camp on each campsite, everyday on this trek. Few of the bigger operators and some of the pioneers bring bulk of trekkers to this wonderland. Most of this crown is not Nature Friendly. The rush is such that the local operators and these big companies cannot meet the demand. So, there lots of other small operators who get their groups too, most of these are nonprofessionals. Also, there are self organized groups too.

Then there are local resources to add to, like mules, mules-men, guides, porters, cooks, helpers, etc which accompany the groups. The trekker's hut built by the Government for the trekkers permanently occupied by bigger companies to use as kitchen. What kind of push is it on the Nature to accommodate that huge rush ?? I have no imaginations for it, hence I leave it upto the readers.

All these spoil the ambiance of the trek and we don't like organizing the Roopkund trek until situation betters. We are more in favour of the Ronti Saddle Trek  which is much peaceful once we cross the tourist spot of the Roopkund trek.

Brief Description

Brief Itinerary

Detailed itinerary.

Dehradun (640M) to Sutol (2,200M)

Distance: 280 km

If you have signed up with Bikat for a drive from Dehradun to Sutol, our day starts early. All of us assemble at the meeting point by 7 in the morning so we can start our long drive up to Sutol – a small village in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. We reach Sutol through Rishikesh, Rudraprayag, Devprayag and Karnprayag. Although there’s nothing more on the agenda for today other than the 10 to 12-hour drive and settling into mountain air, it is better to leave as early as possible for two reasons:

One, so we can reach as early as possible and give our bodies enough rest for what’s coming the next day. And, two, roads on the mountains are unpredictable and it is always better to account for delays when we start. It is also better to reach before it gets dark.

Sutol (2,200M) to Tatra (2,680M)

Distance: 6 kms

We start our first day of trek towards Tatra which is 6 kms from Sutol. Sutol is the last motorable village towards our destination. The route takes us upstream into the valley through dense forests and bushes. Tatra is a small farming village at an altitude of 2,680M putting our elevation gain for the day at close to 480M.

Tatra (2,680M) to Lata Khopri (3,080M)

Distance: 9-10 km

Today will be a long day, but well within the tree line. We continue our trek through the forest to reach an opening which is called Lata Khopri. Here is where we set up camp for the night.

Lata Khopri (3,080M) to Chanimaghat

Distance: 10 km

It is as eventful a day as it is long as we pass through some of the deep lush green forests of the Nanda Devi Biosphere and cross multiple streams. The river crossing is the trickiest part of this otherwise pleasant day of hiking.

Chanimghat to Dodang (4,480M)

Distance: 6 km

We continue towards Dodang which is at an altitude of 4,480M. Do Dang literally translates to Two Boulders named so for the two huge boulders at the site. The campsite is marked by these boulders forming a cave.

Dodang (4,480M) to Homkund (4,060M) and Ronti Saddle (5,300M) to Sila Samudra (4,000M)

Distance: 11 kms

We start our trek early. After some easy patches we come across a sharp ridge breaking down from its right hand side, almost like a 90 degree slab of mud. We take the trail that descends a bit on the left side of the ridge. The ridge slowly turns right to bring you to Homkund. After offering prayers, we start up the steep snowy climb to the Ronti Saddle.

Initial scrambles and walk over the boulders for some 2 kilometers and then switchbacks through the snow field, bring us to the top. It’s a 2 hour steep and strenuous climb from Homkund to Ronti Saddle with an elevation gain of 1300 meters. You will mostly be walking on snow the entire time. The view from the top of Ronti Saddle is breathtaking. Ronti Peaks 1, 2, Trishul 1, 2, 3, Nanda Ghunti all stand tall around the saddle. Dronagiri looks mesmerizing made even more special by the fact that only a few get to experience this majestic peak due to its placement.

From here, we head to our campsite for tonight which is on the boulders of Sila Samudra at a height of 4,000M. Sila means Rock and Samudra means Sea – the name of the campsite literally translates to a Sea of Rocks and it couldn’t be more accurate for the rocky moraines that make up the region.

Sila Samudra (4,000M) to Junaragali (5,050M) to Sila Samudra (4,000M)

Distance: 8 km

Today is the day we go to Roopkund and it is also a day which will require a lot of concentration. It is a steep climb up to Junairagali Pass and a steep climb down from there, back to Sila Samudra with over 1000M elevation difference to be covered on each side. The snow makes these steep slopes even trickier. After a hard day of traverse, we are back to our old campsite of Sila Samudra.

Sila Samudra (4,000M) to Lata Khopri (3,080M)

Distance: 12 km

We trace our steps back the same way we had come and reach back down to Lata Khopri tonight covering a long distance of 12 kms through the day. But since we are losing altitude, it is a relatively easier day than some of our previous days on the trek.

Latakopdi (3,080M) to Sutol (2,200M)

Distance: 15 km

We give Tatra a skip and head straight back down to Sutol today.

Sutol (2,200M) to Dehradun (640M)

Distance: 280 kms drive

Expect to reach Dehradun by later evening. We’d recommend that you plan your travel out of Dehradun late night or on the next day.

This day can be used on any of the days along the itinerary as per required – in case of bad weather or if a rest day is needed. The cost of this day is included in the total trek cost.

Why should i go for this trek, best season, what are the best months to visit this trek, how should i pack my rucksack, how should i select my trekking shoe, what to pack, connectivity, how to reach the base of the trek & how to go back from the end point.

The trek begins from Lohajung which is about 200 km from Kathgodam/Haldwani. There are no direct buses from Kathgodam/Haldwani to Lohajung. But you can take a shared jeep which will cost you around INR 900. It takes around 12 hours to get to Lohajung from Haldwani/Kathgodam.

Kathgodam is well connected to Delhi through rail and road transport. Here is how you can reach:

Uttarakhand Roadways provides all kinds of bus services between Delhi ISBT to Haldwani. The distance between Delhi to Kathgodam is 294 km which takes about 7 hours to cover. You can book your bus tickets online through https://utconline.uk.gov.in/ or any other bus services available. You can also hire a private taxi or an outstation cab from Delhi. These taxis come at exorbitant prices.

Kathgodam is the last railhead before Lohajung. Board Ranikhet Express from Delhi which reaches Kathgodam early in the morning. Or you can take Delhi Sampark Kranti which reaches Kathgodam in the night in case you want to stay the night.

Pantnagar Airport is the closest to Lohajung at a distance of 256 km. There is one Air India flight running every day between Delhi and Pantnagar. It is suggested to make your bookings well in advance due to a low frequency of flights. In case you are flying to Pantnagar, take a taxi from the airport to Kathgodam and then take one of those shared jeeps to reach Lohajung.

Small Group Size

Our batch sizes are capped at 15 for smaller treks with the trek leader and trekker ratio of 1:8. This ratio, in our years of experience, has proven to deliver the best trekking experience for individuals as well as groups. Capping the size of the group ensures individual attention to each trekker so that no signs of distress or need during the trek go unnoticed. It also helps to form a more cohesive cohort with better group energy which helps define the rhythm and pace of days on the trek. As you go higher up on the BRS scale, since the stakes are higher, expeditions have an even smaller group size with the ratio of expedition leader to climber set at 1:2.

Ronti Saddle Trek 10 Nights and 11 Days Package

Ronti Saddle is a saddle between the glorious Himalayan peaks of Nanda Ghunti and Trishul closer to the Nanda Devi Inner Sanctuary. The trek follows the Nandakini River and takes us through the villages of Sutol and Tatra to enter the deep forests of Lata Khopri to reach the moraines of Sila Samudra and the peculiar campsite of Dodang. The name Sila Samudra translates to 'Sea of Rocks' and is given to the glacier coming down from the mighty Trishul. If there is some noise in this valley, it is of the frequent ice breaking and falling down from Trishul, feeding the Sia Samudra glacier. Here, you will only find yourself and few 'Keeda Jadi, Yartse Gumba' pluckers during the months of June. Homkund is a small lake which mostly remains under snow. We get to this high altitude lake by trekking along a broken ridge with a sharp vertical fall to one side then climbing on towards the infamous Ronti Saddle which sits between Nanda Ghunti and Trishul.

This trek is a trek of many climaxes and definitely makes you sweat for all of its exquisite offerings. A perfect mix of challenge and beauty, it is a trek for anyone who wants to push their limits in the high-altitude terrain.

Day 1: Dehradun (640 m) to Sutol (2,200 m), Distance: 280 km

If you have signed up with Biktat for a drive from Dehradun to Sutol, our day starts early. We all gather at the meeting point by 7 am so that we can start our long drive to Sutol, a small village in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. We reach Sutol via Rishikesh, Rudraprayag, Devprayag and Karnaprayag. Although there's nothing else on the agenda today except a 10 to 12 hour drive and settling into the mountain air, it's better to leave as early as possible for two reasons:

One, so that we can arrive as early as possible and give our bodies adequate rest for the next day. And, two, roads in the mountains are unpredictable and it is always better to take into account delays when we start out. It is also better to reach before dark.

Day 2: Sutol (2,200M) to Tatra (2,680M), Distance: 6 km

We start the first day of our journey towards Tatra which is 6 kilometers away from Sutol. Sutol is the last motorable village towards our destination. This route takes us up into the valley through dense forests and bushes. Tatra is a small farming village at an altitude of 2,680 meters, making our altitude during the day around 480 meters.

Day 3: Tatra (2,680M) to Lata Khopri (3,080M), Distance: 9-10 km

Today will be a long day, but will remain within the work area. We continue our journey through the forest and reach an open space called Lata Khopri. This is where we set up camp for the night.

Day 4: Lata Khopri (3,080M) to Chanimaghat, Distance: 10 km

It's as eventful a day as it is long as we pass through some of the deep lush green forests of the Nanda Devi Biosphere and cross several streams. Crossing the river is the hardest part of this pleasant day of hiking.

Day 5: Chanimghat to Dodang (4,480 m), Distance: 6 km

We move towards Dodang which is at an altitude of 4,480M. Du Dang literally means Two Boulders, named for two huge boulders present at the site. The campsite is marked by these stones forming a cave.

Day 6: Dodang (4,480 m) to Homkund (4,060 m) and Ronti Saddle (5,300 m) to Sila Samudra (4,000 m), Distance: 11 km

We start our trek early. After a few easy patches we see a sharp rock break off to the right, almost like a 90 degree slab of clay. We follow the path that descends slightly to the left of the ridge. The ridge gradually turns to the right to bring you to Homkund. After praying, we begin the steep snowy climb to Ronti Saddle.

The initial struggle and walking over rocks for about 2 kilometers and then back through the snow field brings us to the top. It is a steep and arduous 2 hour climb from Homkund to Ronti Saddle with an elevation of 1300 metres. You will be walking on ice most of the time. The view from the top of Ronti Saddle is breathtaking. Ronti Peaks 1, 2, Trishul 1, 2, 3, Nanda Ghunti all stand tall around the saddle. Dronagiri looks mesmerizing, which is made even more special by the fact that due to its location only a few people are able to experience this majestic peak.

From here, we head to our camping site for tonight which is on the rocks of the Sila Sea at an altitude of 4,000 metres. Sila means rock and Samudra means sea – the name of the campsite literally translates as Sea of Rocks and this couldn't be more accurate for the rocky moraines that make up this area.

Day 7: Sila Samudra (4,000 m) to Junaragali (5,050 m) to Sila Samudra (4,000 m), Distance: 8 km

Today is the day we will go to Roopkund and it is also the day that will require a lot of concentration. There is a steep climb up to Junairagali Pass and from there a steep descent down to Sila Samudra, with a height difference of over 1000 meters on either side. Snow makes these steep slopes even more tricky.

After a hard day of travelling, we are back at our old camp site at Sila Sea.

Day 8: Sila Samudra (4,000M) to Lata Khopri (3,080M), Distance: 12 km

We return back the same way we came and cover a long distance of 12 kilometers during the day and reach Lata Khopri tonight. But since we are losing altitude, this is a relatively easy day compared to our last few days on the trek.

Day 9: Latakopadi (3,080M) to Sutol (2,200M), Distance: 15 km

We leave the Tatras and head straight to Sutol today.

Day 10: Sutol (2,200M) to Dehradun (640M), Distance: 280 km drive

Expected to reach Dehradun by late evening. We would recommend that you plan your journey out of Dehradun late at night or the next day.

A saddle between two magnificent mountains

Ronti Saddle stands at an elevation of 5200 meters and serves as a challenging saddle between the magnificent Himalayan peaks of Nanda Ghungti and Trishul, situated close to the Nanda Devi Inner Sanctuary. The trek to Ronti Saddle typically starts from the popular Roopkund side, and to reach it, you traverse the Sheela Samudra valley after crossing the Junairagali Pass above Roopkund. The journey to Ronti Saddle also offers an encounter with the mystery and history of Roopkund, famously known as the Skeletal Lake. Roopkund is a small circular high-altitude glacial lake surrounded by snow for most of the year. The lake is known for its collection of human bones, which are more visible when the snow cover is less. The trek includes exploration of some of the best bugiyals or meadows in the Himalayas, namely Bedni Bugiyal and Ali Bugiyal. Additionally, you'll pass through Sheela Samudra, a glacier of Mount Trishul, characterized by tarns and boulders. Witnessing avalanches is a common occurrence in this region, often happening opposite to your camp in the glacier. The trail also takes you through the lovely villages of Sutol and Sitel, offering beautiful campsites and a sense of remoteness. Overall, the trek to Ronti Saddle provides a unique and adventurous experience, encompassing stunning landscapes, glacial lakes, and the rich cultural heritage of the region.

Ronti Saddle Trek

Photo of At 17,000ft, This Himalayan Trek Will Take You To Shimmering Glacial Lakes by Amrita

One of the most picturesque and challenging treks of the Uttarakhand region is the Ronti Saddle Trek . The Ronti Saddle is a saddle between the two glorious Himalayan peaks of Trishul and Nanda Ghunti standing at an altitude of 5,200 metres. You must have heard eons about the mysterious Roopkund Trek and might have also done it. The Ronti saddle trek is approached from the Roopkund side and after crossing the Junargali Pass above Roopkund, you enter the Sheela Samudra Valley .

Photo of Roop Kund, Chamoli, Uttarakhand, India by Amrita

After crossing the Junargali Pass, there is a sharp descent to the vast and remote grassland of Sheela samudra. Sheela Samudra literally means the “sea of rocks” (Sheela means rocks and samudra means sea). The name is given to the glacier coming down from the magnificent Trishul. The vast grassland is almost isolated and silent. The only noise you might here is of the frequent breaking of ice from the Trishul while it falls down to feed the Sheela Samudra glacier.

Ronti Saddle Cross Trek:

This trail connects famous Roopkund and much revered Ronty Saddle to Dhauli Ganga basin in the north east direction. To distinguish, we prefer to call it as Ronti Pass and is a completely new  route for descending from Ronty Saddle. The usual Ronty Saddle ends at Sutol in the Nandakini basin, tracing back to Silasamudra then then to Lata Khopri and Sutol. Here we descent from the saddle to the other side, negotiating steep rock section and boulders and then finally to the temple of Bhabisya Badri, situated on the Joshimath to Malari road.
