The “Maverick” has paid high-flying homage to the monarch.

Screen legend Tom Cruise took the coronation concert of King Charles III to new heights Sunday when he made a surprise appearance in a pre-recorded message.

“Pilot to pilot, your Majesty, you can be my wingman any time,” said Cruise — from the the cockpit of his P-51 airplane, an America-made long-range, single-seat “fighter-bomber” model originally used in World War II.

The pre-taped video was screened over a segment in which former James Bond star Pierce Brosnan, 69, and adventurer Bear Grylls, 48, discussed the king’s military service in the royal Navy and Air Force from 1971 to 1994.

The concert, which was attended by 20,000 people, featured several jaw-dropping performances — but 60-year-old Cruise’s cameo was definitely a showstopper for newly crowned King Charles, 74, and Queen Camilla, 75.

Cruise’s connection to the royal family dates back to 1992 when he and then-wife Nicole Kidman met Princess Diana during the premiere of their Ron Howard film “Far and Away.”

The late Princess of Wales was reportedly a major fan of “Top Gun” and would watch it frequently with her young son’s Prince Harry and Prince William. Kidman and Cruise later attended the princess’s funeral in 1997.

Cruise went on to become friendly with the late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip during an event at the Outward Bound Trust in 2017, where he bonded with the late Prince Consort over their love of aviation.

"Mission Impossible" star Tom Cruise took the coronation concert of King Charles III to new heights Sunday when he made a surprise appearance in a pre-recorded message.

Cruise has since taken part in other royal events.

The “Mission Impossible” icon even managed to play a role in the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and introduced the Kings Troop Royal Artillery in “A Gallop Through History” at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.

Cruise has also fostered a new friendship with Prince William, 40, and Kate Middleton, 41, after securing a private screening of “Top Gun: Maverick” after learning the Prince of Wales was a fan of the original 1986 film that spawned the blockbuster sequel.

“We have a lot in common,” said Cruise on the film’s red carpet. “We both love England, and we’re both aviators. We both love flying.”

The message comes just one day after the coronation ceremony, which took place on Saturday, May 6 at Westminster Abbey.

It marked the official transfer of power to King Charles after the  death of his mother,  Queen Elizabeth II, in September at the age of 96.

Cruise's connection to the royal family began in 1992 when he and then-wife Nicole Kidman met Princess Diana during the premiere of their film "Far and Away."

The coronation was attended by a number of high-profile celebrities such as Katy Perry and Lionel Richie  — who also performed several of their hits at the engagement.

Classical stars such as pianist Lang Lang and opera singer Andrea Bocelli also appeared on the next-day’s classy concert bill, along with a show-capping reunion performance by the Brit boy band Take That.

Prince Harry attended the previous day’s official coronation event without his wife Meghan Markle, which marked his first time back in his native United Kingdom since he dropped his bombshell, tell-all memoir, “Spare,” in January.

In his controversial autobiography, Harry made a slew of nasty comments — and alleged that his brother, Prince William, had “ physically attacked ” him and branded his stepmother, Queen Camilla, as a “villain.”

Moments after Sunday’s historic event, Prince Harry was  already on his way back  to Los Angeles where he celebrated the fourth birthday of his son, Archie.

He spent less than 24 hours in the UK.

Tom Cruise Has a Surprising Role in the Coronation Concert

He and King Charles go way back.

preview for Tom Cruise’s Career From “Risky Business” to “Top Gun: Maverick”

What is Tom Cruise's role at the coronation concert?

According to the BBC, the Top Gun: Maverick star will appear in a series of "pre-recorded sketches that are being billed as revealing little-known facts about the monarch." These short sketches will play throughout the evening, interspersed with the live performances, and will also feature appearances from Dame Joan Collins, Sir Tom Jones, and adventurer Bear Grylls.

What is Tom Cruise's connection to the Royals?

Cruise has maintained a close friendship with the Royal Family for over 30 years, beginning back in 1992 when he and his then-wife Nicole Kidman met Princess Diana at the London premiere of their film Far and Away . Diana was reportedly a big fan of Cruise's film Top Gun , and would frequently watch it at home with her sons William and Harry. Cruise and Diana went on to become good friends, and he and Kidman both attended her funeral in 1997.

Cruise later became acquainted with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, bonding with the Prince Consort over their shared love of aviation when they met at an Outward Bound Trust event in 2017. He later played a special role in the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, introducing the Kings Troop Royal Artillery in "A Gallop Through History" at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.

While the Queen was unable to meet Cruise at that event due to mobility issues, she later invited him for a private tour of Windsor Castle, and the two hit it off so well that she invited him back for lunch—and Cruise was even reportedly allowed to fly her private helicopter.

"She’s just a woman that I greatly admire," Cruise said in 2022. "I think she is someone who has tremendous dignity and I admire her devotion. What she has accomplished has been historic."

Since then, Cruise has also grown close to Prince William and Kate Middleton, hosting a private screening of Top Gun: Maverick for them in 2022 after learning that William was a fan of the original, and inviting them to the film's London premiere in Leicester Square.

"We have a lot in common," Cruise said of the prince on the red carpet. "We both love England, and we’re both aviators. We both love flying."

King Charles III's Coronation convert

It was the U.K.’s first coronation in 70 years — a cause even Hugh Jackman, Tom Cruise and Pierce Brosnan had to celebrate.

A star-studded lineup for King Charles III ’s Coronation Concert took to an enormous stage on Windsor Castle grounds, the historic building a shimmering backdrop for a crowd of 20,000 on Sunday night.

In and among performances from Katy Perry, Nicole Scherzinger and Lionel Richie (the latter managing to tempt the king out of his seat for some bobbing to All Night Long ) were video messages of congratulations and “Did you know?” facts about Charles from Hollywood royalty.

“Pilot-to-pilot, Your Majesty, you can be my wingman any time,” Cruise said, filmed doing what he does best — aviators on and in the cockpit of a fighter pilot jet in a sequence that was perfectly Maverick-esque.

And Cruise wasn’t the only action star to feature at the historic event. Ex-Bond Brosnan appeared, albeit also virtually, to talk about Charles’ history as a fully trained Royal Air Force pilot. Jackman waved hello, too. “Your Majesty, a little birdie told me that you’re quite the thespian,” he said after Dame Joan Collins told audiences about the king’s acting chops.

A myriad of famous names popped on stage to add to the already impressive concert bill: Nigerian singer-songwriter Tiwa Savage and Olly Murs sang after a crowd-pleasing Muppet moment where Miss Piggy seemed unable to separate Lord Grantham from the host in front of her, and insisted on staying near.

Sex Education star and incoming Doctor Who Time Lord Ncuti Gatwa acted out excerpts from Romeo & Juliet alongside Call the Midwife ’s Mei Mac, and hundreds of voices from across the Commonwealth sang as part of a choir for the king, who watched from the royal box with Queen Camilla, the Princess of Wales, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

The young royals watched as their father made an emotional tribute to Charles’ work.

“Pa, we are all so proud of you,” he added.

World-famous opera singer Andrea Bocelli teamed up with Sir Bryn Terfel, a Welsh opera star, before Paloma Faith joined in on the fun. Stella McCartney made a short statement commemorating King Charles III on his conservation efforts and decades-long environmental campaigning. “He champions hope and action,” the designer said.

The concert was rounded off with a rendition of hits “Roar” and “Firework” by Perry, who herself looked every bit the gilded display of a coronation in shining gold. U.K. veteran boyband Take That closed the show and thanked the king and queen, who in response waved their union jack flags from the royal box.

Other artists — such as Harry Styles, Elton John, Ed Sheeran and the Spice Girls — reportedly turned down invitations to perform at the concert, citing scheduling conflicts and other reasons.

“It was a completely peaceful demonstration,” anti-monarchy activist Harry Stratton told the Associated Press .

“It feels like something out of a police state because we still don’t know why anyone’s been arrested, and we still don’t know where they’re taking our people. Britain’s meant to be a democracy, but Charles isn’t treating it like one.”

Along with an orchestra,  the Coronation Choir and the Virtual Choir , composed of performers across the UK, will both sing at the event.

In an effort by Buckingham Palace to portray Charles as a more modern monarch, the Coronation Choir will include people drawn from singing groups composed of deaf people, refugees and LGBTQ people.

Buckingham Palace has also said dancers will perform, as well as spoken word sequences delivered by theatre and screen actors.

Will any other stars be taking centrestage?

The BBC reports that a number of other celebrities will be included in sketches to be aired at the concert.

The Queen sitting at a table with Paddington Bear.

These stars reportedly include Hollywood actor Tom Cruise,  English actor and author  Dame Joan Collins , as well as British adventurer Bear Grylls and Welsh singer Tom Jones .

Also, Winnie the Pooh is set to make an appearance, perhaps in an attempt to top  Paddington Bear 's meeting with Queen Elizabeth II at her Jubilee Party at the Palace concert last year .

Who will be in the audience?

Of the 20,000 guests at the concert, King Charles and Queen Camilla will be the biggest names in attendance.

Among other royal luminaries and guests will also be members of the public who were able to secure several thousand pairs of tickets via a public ballot.

Buckingham Palace says volunteers from the King's and the Queen's charity affiliations will also be in attendance.

'Lighting up the Nation'

In line with the concert's theme "Lighting up the Nation", light displays will take place across the UK at the conclusion of the concert.

These "iconic" UK locations will be lit up using projections, lasers, drone displays and illuminations

The unlikely duo of Tom Cruise and Winnie the Pooh have been announced as the latest acts in King Charles III’s Coronation Concert.

Dame Joan Collins , Sir Tom Jones , adventurer Bear Grylls and former Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse will also appear in a series of pre-recorded sketches revealing little-known facts about the monarch .

The official coronation takes place on Saturday 6 May , with a coronation concert taking place the following evening on Sunday 7 May.

The inclusion of Hollywood star Cruise, who has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with the royal family, and beloved literary figure Winnie the Pooh in the segment could create a moment to match that of the Platinum Party At The Palace , where the late Queen shared tea with Paddington Bear.

Staged at Windsor Castle and broadcast across the BBC, the concert will feature performances from Take That, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie.

Music acts Paloma Faith, Olly Murs, veteran rock guitarist Steve Winwood, Nicole Scherzinger of The Pussycat Dolls and Chinese pianist Lang Lang have also been added to the line-up.

Also among the new additions are the Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage, DJ Pete Tong with his Ibiza Classics project, and winner of The Piano TV talent show, Lucy.

Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor will also deliver a spoken-word performance.

The event on 7 May, in the grounds of Windsor Castle, will be in front of a crowd of 20,000 members of the public and invited guests and will be broadcast across BBC television and radio stations.

Winwood, a veteran of the blues rock scene who played in the Spencer Davis Group, Traffic and Blind Faith, will sing alongside the Commonwealth virtual choir, featuring choirs and individuals from over 40 Commonwealth countries.

The 74-year-old said: “I was alive and just about remember the Coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and I, together with millions and millions of other people all around the globe, am a lifelong monarchist.

“So to be included in the Coronation celebrations of Their Majesties King Charles and Queen Camilla is for me a lifetime achievement for which I’m extremely humbled and honoured.”

The performance will be introduced by an “uplifting” spoken-word piece from Bollywood actor Kapoor.

She said: “I am honoured to join the Commonwealth virtual choir, celebrating His Majesty’s love for music and art.

“It’s a momentous occasion that signifies a commitment to a positive, inclusive, and optimistic future for the United Kingdom, with the choir’s music paying tribute to the royal legacy and promoting unity, peace and joy.”

The TV presenter and singer Murs added: “It’s such an honour to be asked to perform for King Charles’ Coronation concert at such an iconic castle.

“An event that will go down in history, and one I’ll be proud to tell my kids about one day.”

Kate Phillips, BBC director of unscripted, said: “I’m delighted that even more world-class names have joined the line-up for the Coronation Concert, broadcast live across the BBC.

“Against the stunning backdrop of Windsor Castle, it’s going to be a jam-packed evening of memorable moments that Their Majesties and everyone in the UK can enjoy.”

The concert will take place in the grounds of Windsor Castle and will be broadcast on BBC One and iPlayer, as well as BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds.

Tom Cruise made a cameo during King Charles' star-studded Coronation concert on Sunday night in a surprise pre-recorded segment.

The A-list actor, 60, was flying his iconic Top Gun plane in the cameo during an interlude between performances as stars including  Pierce Brosnan and Bear Grylls discussed the King's military service.

A clip of Tom then came up on the screen as he flew a plane and quipped: 'Pilot to pilot - your Majesty, you can be my wingman anytime!'

King Charles served in both the Navy and air force during his military career between 1971 and 1994.

The King and Queen of the  royal family  joined around 20,000 members of the public at the Coronation Concert to continue the celebrations after their crowning at Westminster Abbey on Saturday.

The Coronation Concert saw performances by Paloma Faith, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and veteran rock guitarist Steve Winwood.

The show in Windsor, which was hosted by Downton Abbey and Paddington star Hugh Bonneville, started at 8pm.

Buckingham Palace promised 'global music icons and contemporary stars' for the big concert.

It was the highlight of the second day of coronation celebrations with around 20,000 members of the public attending.

Classical acts including Andrea Bocelli, Welsh bass-baritone Sir Bryn Terfel and Chinese pianist Lang Lang were also on the bill.

Hollywood star Tom Cruise, Dynasty actress Dame Joan Collins, adventurer Bear Grylls, singer Sir Tom Jones and former Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse also made appearances via video.

The series of pre-recorded sketches revealed little-known facts about the monarch and also included moments from beloved literary character Winnie the Pooh - seemingly echoing the famous moment Paddington Bear drank tea with the Queen during her Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage, DJ Pete Tong with his Ibiza Classics project, and winner of The Piano TV talent show, 13-year-old Lucy, also performed.

Meanwhile, fashion designer Stella McCartney delivered a spoken word performance with a conservation theme which reflected her and the King's 'shared passion for environmental sustainability'.

Her performance was part of a broader nature-themed section of the concert which also included a rendition of a 1980s hit by classical-soul composer Alexis French and London-based singer-songwriter Zak Abel alongside a house orchestra, band and choir.

Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor also delivered a spoken-word performance.

The Royal Ballet, the Royal Opera, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal College of Music and the Royal College of Art came together for the first time to create a one-off performance featuring Sex Education and Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa and Olivier Award nominee Mei Mac.

The concert was broadcast on BBC One, BBC iPlayer, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds.

Former Desert Island Discs and Crimewatch presenter Kirsty Young anchored the special live broadcast of the concert in the grounds of Windsor Castle after reporting from a studio at Buckingham Palace on Saturday's coronation day.

The concert on the castle's East Lawn also saw TV presenter Clara Amfo and Diversity dance troupe member Jordan Banjo speaking to the artists backstage.

At Saturday's coronation, King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla were officially crowned by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby.

King Charles, 74, automatically took the throne following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September last year.

Tom Cruise swears his allegiance to three things: movie theaters , the Church of Scientology , and, for some reason, the British Royal Family. The “ Top Gun: Maverick ” star made a pre-recorded appearance at the King Charles’ Coronation Concert on Sunday, shouting out his beloved franchise in the process.

Cruise is not a British citizen, although he has recently lived part time in the country during filming of the “Mission: Impossible” franchise. That said, he has a strangely extensive history with the monarchy, dating back to the ’90s, when he became friends with Charles’ ex-wife Princess Diana after meeting her at the premiere of his film “Far and Away” in 1992. He and his wife at the time, Nicole Kidman, attended her funeral in 1997. Last year, Prince William and Princess Katherine both attended the London premiere of “Top Gun: Maverick” and spoke to Cruise.

According to Variety , the pre-recorded segment was introduced by James Bond star Pierce Bronson, who called Charles “the longest serving Prince of Wales for over 64 years.” He took the position in 1958 when he was was only nine years old, and remained in that position until his mother Queen Elizabeth II died at 96 last year after her record-breaking 70-year reign on the throne. Hugh Jackman also appeared in a pre-recorded message; the ceremony, hosted by Downton Abbey” star Hugh Bonneville, featured performances from Katy Perry, Lionel Ritchie, Nicole Scherzinger, Tiwa Savage, and a “Romeo and Juliet” scene acted by future “Doctor Who” star Ncuti Gatwa.

The organizers reportedly had difficulty booking talent for the event, with big names like Adele and Ed Sheeran declining .

ABC’s Good Morning America will be offering U.S. viewers live coverage of the concert that day, beginning at 3 p.m. ET., according to Independent .

Tom Cruise and a Bear Added to King’s Coronation Guest List

Portrait of Zoe Guy

By command of the king, the earl marshal is directed to invite Madame Nicki Minaj to be present at the Abbey Church of Westminster on the 6th day of May, 2023. Which is what the rapper allegedly read when she opened her invitation to the coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III & Queen Camilla, according to a post on the British Royal Family’s official website under the news tab. That is to say, Prince Harry’s pa, who likes to do headstands naked in public , is having a little bash to formally name himself the king following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, last September. Despite the event seeming outside the realm of our business here at Vulture, King Charles’s notable guests have made the archaic pomp and circumstance our business. Below, all the relevant details about the upcoming affair, including celebrity guests, Bears, and performers.

Who was the earl marshal directed to invite?

Nicki Minaj agreed to attend after the king’s entourage appeared in front of guests’ homes with a scroll and commanded their presence at His Majesty’s coronation. Actually, Minaj just tweeted , “I’ll be attending the coronation. Thank you. Stream #PrincessDiana until I land 🇬🇧 scones on dekk Whole lotta gang sh!t 🤧.” The announcement seems more geared to promoting her new track than a serious announcement about her plans to make an appearance at an old man’s tea party. Either way, the confirmed guest list includes the Royal Family so far (i.e., the man who devoted quite a few pages of his memoir to his penis troubles will show up. Meghan Markle and their children are decidedly not coming, per a Buckingham Palace press release). And maybe Nicki Lewinsky.

Who’s performing at the coronation concert?

The streets have said that British pop stars Adele, Ed Sheeran, and Harry Styles all declined invitations , but that didn’t mean the Royals didn’t book anyone. (They didn’t take any of Vulture’s suggestions , though. Taylor Swift deserved the slot!) Katy Perry will regale us with her cotton-candy worlds, while Lionel Richie, Andrea Bocelli, and Take That each have a set. Sir Bryn Terfel, Freya Ridings, and Alexis Ffrench round out the bill. On April 28, Variety reported that Tom Cruise, Nicole Scherzinger, and obvious British royalty Winnie the Pooh would also attend the king’s coronation concert.

How can I watch it?

The king’s coronation commences May 6 at 11 a.m. British time, or 6 a.m. ET, and all the big U.S. networks will have live coverage, including ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox News, and CNN. For those watching online and via streamers, check out livestreams from the New York Times , Paramount+, Hulu + Live TV, Fubo TV, Sling TV, Sky News YouTube channel, Britbox, and, of course, BBC. (BritBox subscribers who get the service through the Apple and Amazon channels stores will only be able to watch the coronation on their apps after the livestream ends.) As for the Coronation Concert on May 7? That one is a little tricker for Americans to tune in to, as it’s only streaming on BBC channels like BBC One and BBC Radio so far. Alternatively, you can simply watch the funny clips and catch all the memes on Twitter.

Tom Cruise invited to big royal event this year: Report

It sounds like Tom Cruise is on a mission to attend King Charles III ’s coronation! The Sun reported on Feb. 7 that the Hollywood star has been invited to the monarch’s upcoming coronation. The actor is said to be halting filming on his latest Mission: Impossible movie in order to attend the royal event on May 6.

Tom Cruise says he and Prince William ‘have a lot in common’: Find out what

“Tom has been invited to King Charles’ Coronation and there is no way he would have ever turned it down,” a source told The Sun . “It is a hugely prestigious event and Tom is a real royalist — plus he is now close with Prince William and Kate. Tom has told film bosses to shut down the production on Mission: Impossible over the Coronation weekend to make sure he can attend.”

“It shocked some people on the film, as Tom is so dedicated to his craft and would never normally deviate from his intense production schedules,” the source added. “But something as important — and grand — as King Charles’s Coronation is something he would not want to miss out on. It is a huge thing for Tom to be invited and he is honoured.”

Tom is no stranger to the British royal family. Last May, the Prince and Princess of Wales joined Tom at the UK premiere of Top Gun: Maverick , where the Jerry Maguire star gave the royal mom of three a helping hand on the red carpet . Earlier that year, it was reported that Tom had arranged a private screening of the film for Prince William and Catherine.

The War of the Worlds actor also appeared in a Platinum Jubilee celebration for Queen Elizabeth , and reportedly enjoyed tea with Charles’ mother at Windsor Castle last year. A source previously told The Sunday Times : “She loved seeing him and they really hit it off, so much so that she invited him back for lunch. He was even allowed to fly in by helicopter.”

Tom has spoken about his admiration for Queen Elizabeth . “She’s just a woman that I greatly admire,” he admitted to Phillip Schofield and Julie Etchingham ahead of A Gallop Through History. “I think she’s someone who has tremendous dignity and I admire her devotion. What she’s accomplished has been historic.”

King Charles' Coronation Concert Lineup: One Singer Just Dropped Out, But Tom Cruise, Katy Perry & More Are Confirmed

So many performers have been announced to perform at King Charles’ Coronation Concert , including Katy Perry , but sadly one has had to drop out.

The event will take place on May 7 at Windsor Castle with 20,000 members of the public and invited guests in attendance. Not all of the stars will appear in person.

BBC, the network producing the concert, says it “will celebrate a new chapter in the nation’s history, with themes of love, respect and optimism, celebrating the four nations, their communities and the Commonwealth.”

The coronation of King Charles III takes place Saturday, May 6. Here's how to tune in

Editor's note: This story has been updated to clarify Queen Consort Camila's titles.

Fans of the British royal family have been anticipating the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camila for several months.

King Charles III, formerly known as the Prince of Wales, became king upon the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II on Sept. 8, 2022, at the age of 96. She was the longest-reigning monarch and the only monarch most Britons have ever known.

His wife Camila now holds the title of queen consort. Camila became Princess of Wales upon her marriage to Charles III, but at the time announced she opted for the title of the Duchess of Cornwall instead, which stems from one of Charles’s junior titles.

Both will be crowned at the coronation ceremony this month.

Now that the historic day is approaching, we’ve compiled a list of ways you can watch the excitement go down, whether it’s from the comfort of your own home or at your local pub.

When is the coronation of King Charles III?

The May 6 coronation ceremony will take place at Westminster Abbey in London, England — a royal church that has been the location of 39 coronations of English and British monarchs since 1066 — and will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the British royal family announced last October.

The ceremony will begin on Saturday at 11 a.m. UTC (coordinated universal time) in London, or 5 a.m. ET for Americans tuning in.

What does the coronation ceremony entail?

The actual anointment of King Charles III will not be broadcast to the public, but live footage from the coronation ceremony and special programming is what viewers can look forward to.

Various TV networks and online streaming platforms will have day-of coverage, along with broadcasts featuring parade preparation on Friday, May 5, and the Coronation Big Lunch and Coronation Concert on Sunday, May 7.

A tasty bite of Delaware food history: Heavenly dinner rolls, free oysters. Delaware beach restaurants gone but not forgotten.

Where to watch the coronation of King Charles III

On Saturday, May 6, cable viewers can catch the ceremony on ABC News and “Good Morning America. ”

The two will have various specials throughout the week documenting preparations for the weekend, a look at the history of the royal family and coverage of the festivities taking place in London.

Check out these offerings, and more, via ABC News Live, “GMA3: What You Need to Know,” ABC News Digital, GMA Digital, ABC NewsOne and ABC News’ flagship podcast “Start Here.”

CNN will have a coronation special, led by Anderson Cooper, from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET on May 6, along with other CNN anchors and reporters stationed along the coronation precession route.

CNN International will broadcast early coverage starting at 1 a.m. ET. Viewers can also opt to stream the coverage for free online by visiting CNN.com or CNN apps for cell phones and TVs.

Fans of the royals can tune into extra early coronation coverage on Sunday, April 30, at 8 p.m. to watch “The Whole Story with Anderson Cooper,” which will dish on ceremony details.

If you do not have cable, you can watch coronation on live TV streaming services like Hulu + Live TV, Sling TV, DIRECTV and fuboTV.

Other watch options include BBC One, BBC iPlayer, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds, all of which will be showcasing the Coronation Concert.

Where to watch the coronation of King Charles III in Delaware

You can always opt to whip up an English breakfast at home and set out a tray of Yorkshire pudding or sticky toffee pudding, but in case you want to take it easy on Saturday, Stoney’s British Pub will be hosting a watch party on the big day.

The pub will be open at about 6 a.m., or as early as owner Mike Stone can get to the pub, for anglophiles to enjoy the celebration together, he said.

Similar to his watch party for the Queen's funeral last fall, Stoney’s will be offering a buffet-style breakfast filled with classic British fare made exactly the way Stone’s mum made it in the kitchen of his family home in England.

Stoney’s British Pub: 3007 Concord Pike, Talleyville, (302) 477-9740; www.stoneyspub.com .

Ticketmaster blasted over sale of King Charles' coronation concert tickets

By Megan Cerullo

Updated on: April 28, 2023 / 10:52 AM EDT / MoneyWatch

Ticketmaster has made a royal mess of issuing tickets to King Charles' coronation concert at Windsor Castle, angry fans are saying on social media.

The ticketing platform was charged with handling applications to attend the BBC event linked to the U.K.'s first coronation in 70 years. The concert will take place on May 7, the day after King Charles III's official coronation, and will feature performances from Andrea Bocelli, Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and other stars.

Twenty-thousand tickets, released in pairs, were made available to the official coronation event by public ballot, according to the Royal Family's website .

Applications were due February 28, and tickets were allocated "based on the geographical spread of the U.K. population, and not on a first-come first-served basis," according to the Royal Family. In other words, it didn't matter when you applied for tickets, as long as you did so before the deadline.

But fans vying for entry to the post-coronation celebration say Ticketmaster sent them misleading instructions. Many say they received emails suggesting they had won tickets to the event, only for the tickets to be unavailable when fans tried to claim them online.

A Wallingford, England, resident called Ticketmaster "disgraceful" in a tweet after the company emailed her April 25 to say she had been "successful in the ballot for a pair of standing tickets" to the once-in-a-lifetime event.

Disgraceful from @Ticketmaster - receive an email saying I’ve won 2 tickets to the Coronation Concert in the ballot and then when you click to claim them they’re all gone. Total shambles of a system. Beyond disappointed @TicketmasterCS pic.twitter.com/jxorfiV0TY — Laura Wood (@mrslaurawood) April 25, 2023

"Disgraceful from  @Ticketmaster  — receive an email saying I've won 2 tickets to the Coronation Concert in the ballot and then when you click to claim them they're all gone. Total shambles of a system. Beyond disappointed," she wrote on the social media platform.

The email from Ticketmaster indicates she was one of a "randomly selected group of ballot winners" offered tickets in a "supplementary round." The tickets were made available to her on a "first come first served basis," read the email, which encouraged her to act quickly to secure her spots.

Apparently, she didn't act fast enough, and won't be attending the concert after all. She bashed Ticketmaster online for writing "congratulations" and ultimately leaving her empty-handed.

"'Congratulations' and 'ballot' don't marry with a first come first served system, especially as the main Ts and Cs specified it wouldn't be like that," she added on Twitter.

Another user called out Ticketmaster for failing to adhere to its own stated terms and conditions. She, too, was under the impression that tickets would not be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

"What a poor experience and incredibly misleading!" she  said  on Twitter Thursday.

Ticketmaster defended its ticketing process. The company said there were two lottery rounds and that unclaimed tickets from the drawings were recently released under different terms and conditions. Previously, applicants had three weeks to claim their tickets. This time they were allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

"Everyone who was successful in the two main ballot rounds for the Coronation Concert was offered a guaranteed pair of tickets, provided they claimed them within three weeks," a Ticketmaster spokesperson told CBS MoneyWatch. "On Tuesday, any unclaimed tickets were released on a first-come, first-served basis to those who had previously applied to the ballot (and were unsuccessful). These inevitably went very quickly."

Ticketmaster recently came under fire over how it handled unprecedented demand for Taylor Swift concert tickets.

Swifties complained that they weren't able to secure tickets, while resellers hawked them for tens of thousands of dollars, forcing diehard fans to spend a fortune in order to see the artist perform. The snafu prompted investigations into the entertainment company over its alleged monopoly on the market.

On Wednesday, Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Richard Blumenthal introduced legislation  called the "Unlock Ticketing Markets Act" to create more competition in the live event ticketing market.

"Right now, one company is leveraging its power to lock venues into exclusive contracts that last up to 10 years, ensuring there is no room for potential competitors to get their foot in the door," Klobuchar said in a statement Wednesday. "Without competition to incentivize better services and fair prices, we all suffer the consequences. The Unlock Ticketing Markets Act would help consumers, artists and independent venue operators alike by making sure primary ticketing companies face pressure to innovate and improve."
