Trek Planet Siesta (70258)

T he universal tent of the Trek Planet trademark is an advanced level solution, which is characterized by a fairly large interior space (the area is more than 18 square metres, and the floor dimensions are 460x400 cm). You can use the model not only for tourist purposes, but also in the country. In the first case, it is perfect for the role of a dining room, a camp kitchen, a common recreation area, etc.

Tent tent Trek Planet Siesta provides two entrances and an abundance of windows around the perimeter. With open curtains, a good view and illumination will be provided, and mosquito nets will protect against mosquitoes. With the windows closed, you can count on an acceptable level of privacy and basic protection from the rain (the water resistance of a polyester awning is 2000 mm of water column). And the skirt is designed to protect against gusts of wind and water flows. The hexagonal shape of the model is set by a frame of 12 fibreglass racks 12.7 mm thick, while the manufacturer claims that the assembly / disassembly process should not take much time. It is also worth noting that under the dome inside there is a loop for hanging a lantern.

MYAKKA STATE PARK

If old Florida beauty and  wildlife is more your speed this is the tour for you! Situated a short 15 minute drive East of Sarasota, sits one of Florida’s oldest and largest parks. The majestic Myakka river flows through 58 square miles of vast unspoiled wetlands, prairies, hammocks and pinelands, where you’re guaranteed to see numerous deer, alligators, birds and so much more. The park features over 39 miles of bicycle trails to explore so there is truly something for everyone.  There is $25 delivery fee.

LEGACY TRAIL

E-bikes are officially welcome on the Legacy Trail! This rail to trail ride stretches 12.5 miles from Sarasota to Venice. This is an extremely safe, traffic-free ride with many things to stop off and see including the Culverhouse Nature Park, Oscar Scherer State Park and the Venetian Waterway Park.  There is $25 delivery fee.

We are equipped with a state of the art service center and all the tools and equipment needed to tackle any of your bicycle maintenance needs! Whether it’s routine, scheduled maintenance, minor adjustments or major repairs, we can handle it all.. No job too big or small, give us a call! Although we are a full-service shop, we specialize in repairing Rad Power Bikes.. We not only are happy to handle your warranty work, but we also keep most back-up parts for all models on hand so there’s a good chance we can get you back on the road, riding rad, the same day! We even have a comfortable waiting area for those traveling long distances and wanting to wait while their bike is serviced! We do ask that you make an appointment as we are often times out of the shop on tour or tending to deliveries.

TEST RIDE PROGRAM

Considering buying an E-bike?? We are confident that we’ve come across the best E-Bikes on the market and we’re even more certain that you too will fall in love with Rad Power Bikes after just one ride! We love helping riders find the bike that’s perfect for them and the joy it brings to their lives! That’s why we offer test rides, COMPLETELY FREE.. Come browse our newly built showroom floor complete with all the latest Rad models, ask our expert staff any questions you may have, get sized and fitted up then take any and all models you’d like out for a test ride. Hourly rentals are available if you want to get a better feel for the bike with a longer ride but the initial consultation and test ride is free. If you decide to move forward with purchasing a Rad you can either have it shipped directly to your home or for a fee of $130 per bike ($150 for wagon) you can have it shipped to our shop where we will assemble, ensure it is all tuned and adjusted to your liking and also do some preventative rust treatments on areas we’ve found to be susceptible to weathering in our incredibly salty and humid climate over the years. Please call ahead to set an appointment, we like to ensure we have sufficient time set aside to answer any and all questions you may have.. This is a big purchase decision and we don’t want anyone feeling rushed or leaving uncertain.

• We have created the most comfortable and favorable conditions in the field of logistics. We coordinate each delivery personally with the buyer, adjusting to his work schedule.

15 Star Trek planets you need to visit this year (pictures)

Can't wait for the upcoming Star Trek flick? Maybe you should make plans for which planets you'll visit during your gap year after graduating from Starfleet.

"Star Trek Beyond," the next installment in the series of reboot films, sees the Enterprise crew trapped on a mysterious planet. The movie is set to be released July 22 in the US and UK and July 21 in Australia.

If that planet is anything like these classic Trek worlds, we absolutely cannot wait.

Let's start with Risa: tropical luxury resorts, miles of pristine beaches, steam pools and subterranean gardens, and more than 200 very, very accommodating Nuvian masseuses...

And no weapons allowed. Risa gets the nickname "The Pleasure Planet" for good reason. (Editors' note: The "Star Trek" TV series is a property of CBS, which also owns CNET.)

Depending on which timeline you're in, Vulcan may have been destroyed, or may be about to be destroyed. If at all possible, we recommend seeing it while you still can.

Ba'ku is a lush planet with rolling hills, sparkling lakes, and exciting local wildlife. But its most important feature is one that's not on the surface...

... Metaphasic rings that regenerate health and give inhabitants eternal life and inexplicable sexiness. The veins of kelbonite in the mountains make transporting off-world difficult, so be sure to snag a ticket for the ferry.

Architecture buffs will get a kick out of Pollux IV, where the Greek gods retreated after the people of Earth stopped worshipping them. Their species died out after an encounter with Captain Kirk, but they left their stunning buildings behind for tourists to enjoy.

Plan the timing of your visit to Meridian very, very carefully. Every 60 years, Meridian undergoes a quantum energy shift that transforms inhabitants from physical beings to incorporeal consciousnesses. You really don't want to be there when they're shifting back into energy...

However, visitors shouldn't miss the chance to participate in the "First Meal" and "Last Meal" celebrations the locals use to mark their return to corporeal forms.

Andoria is just a short trip from Vulcan. Unfortunately, you'll need to pack an entirely new wardrobe: It's an ice moon. If you visit in the summer, temperatures should hover around a pleasant -22 degrees Fahrenheit...

Pack your skis for some unforgettable trips down the mountain on the surface, and cozy up with your first mate (or your favorite blue-skinned native) in some of the romantic underground caves that are popular with honeymooners.

The sacred Klingon planet is the location of the Boreth monastery, where according to Klingon tradition, the warrior Kahless (or just his " Next Generation " clone) would return to lead the people.

Omicron Ceti III

On this planet, you'll find complete happiness and contentment, thanks to a native species of spore. The spores also protect inhabitants from Berthold rays, which once killed everyone and everything on the planet.

Another tropical paradise floating through space, Eden is an incredibly peaceful planet. That's largely because it has no native animal species, including humans. The local trees, grasses, and other flora are stunning to look at, but be warned: Everything is acidic and causes severe burns. Look, don't touch, on this one.

Ceti Alpha VI

Not to be confused with Ceti Alpha V, Ceti Alpha VI is home to an important piece of Starfleet technological history. It is the Genesis Planet, where terraforming technology was deployed to make it inhabitable once again. Admittedly, that only happened after a minor incident with a man named...

Argelius II

Sick leave is no joke in Starfleet. If you're lucky, you may get assigned to recover on Argelius II. Its government is based entirely on love, which has led to some bureaucratic inefficiencies, but makes it ideal for a relaxing trip. Don't miss the dancing girls in the local cafes. The local prefect assures us that the murderous incorporeal entity that once plagued the planet has definitely moved on!

Sigma Iotia II

Get your zoot suit dry cleaned and your tommy gun oiled: Sigma Iotia II is best known as the "gangster planet." The native Iotians, who are not yet warp-capable, accidentally got their hands on an Earth textbook called "Chicago Mobs of the Twenties." Today, the entire planet is a replica of Prohibition-era Chicago. Make sure to ask the locals to show you how to play Fizzbin.

Vaskan-Kyrian

If you happen to get your hands on a Bajoran time cube, be sure to pay a visit to the Vaskan-Kyrian homeworld 700 years from now. The planet is home to the Kyrian Heritage Museum, where you can retrace the steps of the original Voyager mission to broker peace between the Vaskans and Kyrians. Thanks to The Doctor's input, it has been updated to more accurately reflect the exact sequence of events.

A planet eternally plunged into darkness may not sound like a vacation hot spot, but Dakala is home to a wide variety of bioluminescent plants and animals. Pack your night-vision goggles and enjoy the hot gases that vent from the planet's core.

As we made our way up the final stretch of the steep, gravel path, I gasped. There they stood, the mysterious, magnificent Three Towers of Paine (aka Torres del Paine) in Chile glowing a faint shade of red in the early morning light. The three towers are the centerpiece of the park and are an awe-inspiring sight. There were about a dozen other people at the mirador as well, shivering in the frigid air and staring, speechless, at the beauty and splendor of this natural wonder. This was it. This was what I’d walked for five days to see.

Guide to Torres del Paine W Trek in Patagonia

After taking two flights, two buses, and a catamaran, I finally arrived at the entrance of Paine Grande campsite to begin my 5-day trek along the W Route. In the following five days, I experienced the highest highs, the lowest lows, and every emotion in between.

I smiled until my cheeks hurt and walked until I couldn’t feel my feet. With no Internet in the park, I disconnected completely from the outside world. Moreover, I saw some of the most beautiful, breathtaking landscapes known to humanity, and left fully inspired by the spectacle of nature.

What is The Torres del Paine W Trek?

Torres del Paine is a UNESCO World Biosphere reserve that lies between the Patagonian Steppe and the Andes Mountains. Located in Chilean Patagonia, it is one of the greatest treks on earth. The W Trek is a 5 day trek and is the most famous trek in Torres del Paine.

The route takes 4 to 5 days to hike and takes you through some of the most iconic scenery of Torres del Paine National Park.

Ever since I began traveling solo, I’d always look at photographs of Patagonia’s jagged rock formations and stunning glaciers and marvel at their incredible beauty. For years, I dreamed of making the trip all the way to South America’s southern tip to experience Patagonia for myself.

Last November, I bit the bullet and planned a trip to Southern Chile to trek Torres del Paine, booked a flight, and packed a backpack

Day 1 W Trek – Learning the Ropes

Before I left for Patagonia, I’d never gone on a multi-day hike with all of my things on my back before. Armed with my tent, sleeping bag, cooking supplies, and clothes, I felt ready to conquer any mountain. Until I realized, after 30 minutes of walking, that my bag was really heavy. I didn’t know that it would take such an adjustment to be able to hike for hours each day with my big pack on my back.

In the beginning, I’d take a bunch of brief stops to shift things around, trying to make carrying this giant backpack more bearable. To ease my discomfort, I took solace in the beauty around me. Since it was my first day in Patagonia, the terrain was quite unfamiliar to me.

One minute, I’d be in a grassy valley, the next, I’d be walking along the side of a lagoon. Before long, I wasn’t even thinking about how heavy my stuff was; instead, I simply absorbed the amazing colors and scenery around me.

Grey Lake and Glacier

About two hours into my trek, I climbed up a hill and found myself gazing at a monstrous glacier, situated between snowy peaks and a teal-blue lagoon. The sight nearly brought me to my knees.

This, I’d learn later, was Grey Glacier, one of the largest glaciers in the national park. I set my backpack down, grabbed my camera, and sat quietly in the presence of this amazing sight for a little while.

W Trek Campsite Day 1

The rest of the hike was a bit of a blur, as I huffed and puffed on a mostly uphill trail to get to my first campsite for the night. What rewarded me at the top, however, was a campsite with a truly stunning view.

It was a well-received reward for surviving a challenging first day of trekking. I slept like a baby the first night, clearly exhausted after a nearly 4-hour hike with my large backpack on. However, it was time to return back to the Paine Grande campsite (where I started my hike yesterday) for the next leg of the hike.

Day 2 Torres del Pain w Trek

Before I departed from the Grey campsite, I decided to take a few hours to hike around and get a closer look at the incredible Grey Glacier I’d seen from far away the day before. There was a mirador near my camp that I stared at, finding a perch with a view and sitting to watch the clouds pass over the sweeping ice field.

Glacier Melt is Evident in Patagonia

What saddened and surprised me was the presence of several broken pieces of ice floating in the lagoon, and the thunderous sounds of the glacier’s ice crashing into the water. This was the first of many experiences at Torres del Paine National Park that really made me contemplate being more environmentally conscious in my personal life and contributing to organizations that help protect these beautiful places.

Next, I hiked a little bit around the side of the glacier to inspect it even more closely. I couldn’t get over how breathtakingly beautiful it was, with its blue-tinted ice, its expansive nature, and its calm presence between the towering rock formations at its side.

Hiking Back to Paine Grande

The walk back to Paine Grande seemed a bit easier than before. When exploring the glacier, I ran into a Chilean guy I’d met in my hostel earlier in the week.

He offered to walk back to the original campsite with me, and our conversation in Spanish helped me get my mind off the weight on my back and the hot, springtime sun.

Even though I enjoyed the contemplative nature of my trek the day before, I enjoyed walking the 4-hour journey back with a new friend. I spent two nights at Grey Glacier which turned the trek into a 5 day trip. You can choose to hike on today to keep the W Trekas a four day hike.

Day 3 Torres del Pain w Trek

Having the extra day at Grey Glacier was a good choice. On the morning of day 3, I felt like a million bucks. I woke up to the golden hues of the morning sun shimmering on the lagoon, and I emerged from my tent feeling rejuvenated.

Everyone was still asleep at this time, their tents shaking slightly in the breeze. A small fox was prowling in between the tents, sniffing around but otherwise not making a peep. It was the perfect way to start the day: in the silent beauty of nature.

It was a short few hours on the mostly flat trail today, and when my new Chilean friend and I arrived at our next campsite, Italiano, I was giddy with excitement. We’d been able to score the best campsite in the area, a wide space beside the river, with a direct view of the Paine Grande mountain and glaciers.

We pitched our tents happily and smiled at our top-notch accommodations with a five-star view. At that moment, there was nothing more luxurious than the cool, fresh air from the stream and the beauty of the world around us. Little did we know that the best was yet to come.

Mirador Britanico of Valle de Frances

After a quick lunch and siesta, we set off for a hike to Mirador Britanico, an amazing viewpoint in the Valle de Frances. Since we didn’t have our big packs on, the hike was much more manageable, even though it was much, much steeper, and technically more difficult.

We passed many large boulders, babbling brooks, and scorched trees where there had been wildfires before. Once we passed the final, extremely difficult rocky pass, we arrived at one of the single most beautiful viewpoints I have ever experienced in my life.

Everywhere the eye could see, there was something beautiful to take in. Towering, gray rock formations loomed above to my right. The verdant evergreens flashed their emerald hues in front of me.

Lake Nordenskjöld

To my left was a striking view of Lago Nordenskjöld, its teal glacial waters sparkling in the afternoon sun. There was no way to capture it on camera, so after a few fruitless attempts I put my machine down and attempted to take it in with all of my senses. I couldn’t believe a place like this existed. I was humbled and floored by its splendor and magnificence.

Day 4 Torres del Paine W Trek

Day 4 of the Torres del Pain w Trek was the longest of my trek but I was ready for the home stretch.

Having fallen asleep to the soothing sound of the river flowing outside my tent, I woke up feeling extremely relaxed and refreshed. However, I was anxious because today’s hike would be the longest so far, with my full backpack the entire time.

I vowed to be kind to myself and take breaks as needed, but I knew that it would be a tough 9-10 hours of hiking ahead.

It started off as usual, as we passed through beautiful fields next to the bluest water of the lagoon.We stopped for a brief lunch at Los Cuernos campsite before tackling the longest and most grueling pass yet.

W Trek Patagonia – Difficulties on the Trail

After 8 hours of hiking, I felt fatigued and frustrated at how heavy my bag felt, how hot the sun was, and how much my feet ached. It was a huge lesson in powering through and getting over the mental and physical hurdles of this intense hike. At one point, I sat down on the side of the road, in tears, unwilling to move anymore.

Just like traveling itself, my Patagonia hike wasn’t always glamorous. My friend assured me that it wasn’t much farther, but I couldn’t get over how much my body hurt. Finally, in a last-minute burst of anger and adrenaline, I stood up and charged forward until we reached our last campsite: Chileno.

Chileno Campsite W Trek Route

Here we’d signed up for the meal plan, which gave us a well-deserved break from cooking our own food and washing our own dishes. I highly recommend doing this if you are trekking the W trek independently.

I slept early to prepare for the final ascent of the trek: the hike to the Torres del Paine mirador – the place I’d been dreaming about all this time.

Day 5 Torres del Paine W Trek

It was my final morning on the W trek and today was an early start. My alarm was buzzing but I didn’t want to move. Finally, I checked the clock – 3:00 AM. Ugh.

I rustled around the tent for a few more minutes in the dark, attempting to find my headlamp and prepare for the 1.5-hour hike to the figurative “summit” of the trek. Finally, after about half an hour of packing up in the dark, my friend and I were ready to tackle the final climb to the base of Torres del Paine, the namesake of the national park and supposedly one of the most beautiful views in the entire world.

The stars twinkled above us as we made our way through the forest toward the mirador . Although it was still dark and frighteningly silent, there were a few other groups of people making the ascent as well.

After about an hour, we arrived at the base of the final stretch – an incredibly steep, gravel trail to the viewpoint. My friend and I high-fived each other and tackled the last bit with excitement.

Torres del Paine W Trek – The Three Towers

As we neared the end of the trail, the Torres started to come into view. The faint red of the morning seemed to paint the rocks like watercolors, in contrast with the teal of the glacial lake below.

We sat on a rock, awestruck at the amazing sight before us. We were here. We were finally here! I couldn’t believe that nature had crafted such an incredible rock formation. It was like something out of a dream.

We stayed at the mirador for over an hour, walking down near the lake, scaling boulders, and trying to take in the Torres from every possible angle. I swore to myself that I’d come back once more in my life to experience the strong emotions and beauty I’d experienced that day.

Finally, the clouds started to cover the Torres completely, and we decided to say our goodbyes and make the descent back down to the campsite.

What I Learned from 5 Days on the W Trek in Torres del Paine

Taking on the challenge of trekking for five days on the Torres del Paine W trek was transformative for me for many reasons. I learned that I can power through any situation if my mind is determined and that my body is a lot stronger than I give it credit for.

I also realized that I get a lot more thinking done when I’m disconnected from the distractions of my phone and the Internet. Additionally, I learned that there is no greater bliss than being completely surrounded by nature, breathing in its fresh air, and taking in its sights.

Since returning from Patagonia, I’ve started figuring out ways I can live a more ‘green’ lifestyle, and I’ve begun to support organizations that help conserve national parks and minimize the effects of carbon emissions.

I’ll be back in Patagonia one day, and until then, I’ll have stunning photos and life-changing memories to remind me of my incredible five days on the Torres del Paine W Trek.

What a great achievement! We just returned from Torres del Paine, but we did day hikes in the park. Staying in tents and refugios didn’t seem too appealing. I wish we were younger and could do the entire W circuit.

In case you go though the Chilean side, from Punta Arenas to Puerto Natales There is an AMAZING store in PUNTA ARENAS that carries everything you need to survive Patagonia in case you miss something and or need some local info of everything!! MOUNTAIN HOUSE is the name and you can look at it on facebook or Instagram or just go to Mountainhouse.cl is located in Punta Arenas downtown.

The famous W Trek in Torres Del Paine is the perfect destination for the adventurous traveller. The park is becoming a very popular hiking destination, and accommodations fill up fast. This park is the most visited hiking area in all of Patagonia, and hoards of trekkers come here each season to experience the unbelievable natural beauty of this park. We just hiked the W trek a few months ago with ChileTour Patagonia and had such a great time! Really this place is so beautiful and attractive that was beyond my expectation. It was an amazing trip for us and we enjoyed a lot.

What utter tripe. You do realize half the planet was under ice (or extremely.dry desert) just 20000 years ago? Oceans were 400′ shallower. We live in a Golden Age where Life abounds! Be thankful.the glaciers have been retreating for millennia.

Star Trek’s Pleasure Planet Risa Explained

• Risa, known as a "pleasure planet," catered to every whim of its 1.3 billion annual visitors, embodying a paradise with a generous spirit.
• With its Earth-like conditions and sex-positive culture, Risa combined all-inclusive resort joys with a hedonistic reputation among the United Federation of Planets.
• Star Trek captains and their ships frequently visited Risa for shore leave, as it offered hospitality services, natural attractions, and a celebration of sensuality.

In Star Trek , the planet Risa was a popular tourist destination, commonly referred to as a "pleasure planet." With an overall temperate to tropical climate and at least 2 moons that orbited a binary star system, Risa was known as a paradise that catered to every whim of its 1.3 billion annual visitors. Thanks to the Risian's pursuit of pleasure, not just for themselves but also for their guests, the planet's native populace had a generous spirit that embraced travelers both figuratively and literally, with the motto, "All that is ours is yours."

As a Class M planet with Earth-like conditions , Risa combined the peaceful joys of a planet-wide all-inclusive resort with its people's anything-goes, sex-positive attitude. This gave Risa a decidedly hedonistic reputation among its fellow members in the United Federation of Planets. Its culture was represented by the horga'hn , a vaguely humanoid-shaped statuette with an elongated head and diamond-shaped base. Displaying this fertility symbol indicated one was seeking jamaharon , a state of enlightenment implied to be achieved through Risian sexual rituals, and which its people were well-versed in, as Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) accidentally found out on his first visit there.

Pleasure comes in many forms on Risa, so it became well-known throughout the Federation for its hospitality services and celebration of sensuality. Points of interest on this Federation member world included exciting nightclubs, peaceful resorts, and many natural attractions. Risa boasted gorgeous beaches, bioluminescent subterranean gardens, steam pools, and mud baths, in addition to named locations like Galartha Cliff, which changed pitch for its climbers; the rain-free Temtibi Lagoon; and Suraya Bay, host to a moon festival called lohlunat . Risa also developed points of interest specifically for Vulcans, as noted by T'Pol (Jolene Blalock) in Star Trek: Enterprise .

Risa's definition of pleasure extended beyond merely sensual delights, with its pursuit serving as inspiration for the development of its primary technologies. Most notably, Risa's history as a cold, rainy jungle subject to frequent earthquakes prompted Risians to create a planet-wide artificial weather grid and seismic regulators, which transformed Risa into a lush, tropical paradise that was pleasant for most humanoid species. The development of industrial replicators allowed Risians to cater to their guests' every material need. The use of weapons was banned on Risa, but a pleasurably addictive Risian headset game could be considered one, if its users weren't careful.

Which Star Trek Captains & Ships Visited Risa

Star Trek captains and their ships visited Risa, usually so their crews could enjoy shore leave on the pleasure planet. In Risa's first appearance Star Trek: The Next Generation season 3, episode 19, "Captain's Holiday", Commander William Riker (Jonathan Frakes) suggested Risa as a destination for Captain Jean-Luc Picard , where he met love interest Vash (Jennifer Hetrick). Lt. Commanders Jadzia Dax (Terry Farrell) and Worf (Michael Dorn), among others, vacationed on Risa in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine season 5, episode 7 "Let He Who Is Without Sin..." It was implied that Captain Benjamin Sisko (Avery Brooks) also visited Risa, albeit at another time.

Risa was also a destination for series set outside the 24th century. The NX-01 Enterprise led by Captain Jonathan Archer (Scott Bakula) became the first human-crewed starship to visit Risa in Star Trek: Enterprise season 1, episode 25, "Two Days, Two Nights". Archer was joined on his visit by Ensigns Hoshi Sato (Linda Park), Travis Mayweather (Anthony Montgomery), Lt. Malcolm Reed (Dominic Keating), and Commander Charles "Trip" Tucker (Connor Trinneer). Star Trek: Discovery didn't visit, but mentioned Risa, and 32nd-century mad scientist Dr. Ruon Tarka (Shawn Doyle), an important character in Discovery season 4, was Risian.

Since its first appearance in Star Trek: The Next Generation , Risa became a planet synonymous with paradise. It was mentioned on nearly every Star Trek series as a tropical getaway, with its reputation for pleasure well-known among most characters. Risa's beautiful environment and particularly friendly culture made it the go-to destination for Starfleet officers and their companions seeking relaxation and respite from their responsibilities ... and maybe a little jamaharon .
