The first episode of Star Trek: Picard âs third and final season is available to stream online for free, as spotted earlier by Gizmodo . You can either watch the full, hour-long premiere on YouTube or from the Paramount Plus website , but itâs only available for a limited time .
Star Trek: Picard âs final season sees Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) reuniting with some of his USS Enterprise crewmates, including Worf (Michael Dorn), William Riker (Jonathan Frakes), Geordi La Forge (LeVar Burton), Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden), and Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis) as they face off against a new foe, Vadic (Amanda Plummer).
The season premiere, aptly titled âThe Next Generation,â debuted on Paramount Plus last week, with the streamer adding new episodes each Thursday. In a review of the showâs first six episodes , The Verge âs managing editor Alex Cranz calls the show a âvery fun sequel to Star Trek: The Next Generation:â
While this season puts its characters in terrible spots, and there are rumors a few will die by seasonâs end, this wild ride has a real genuine affection for all the players. Itâs the absolute most fun Iâve had watching Paramount Plusâ myriad of Star Trek  shows. And part of my love of this final season comes from how excited the show is to take some of Star Trek âs most flawless heroes and find the humanity in them.
Youâll have to pay for a Paramount Plus subscription if you want to catch the rest of the episodes, and, unfortunately, the streamerâs planning on increasing its prices soon . Paramount also doesnât specify how long the episode will be available for, so if youâve been debating whether to get back into Star Trek , now seems like a good time to do it.

In "Star Trek: Picard," we follow Stewart as the iconic (now-retired) Jean-Luc Picard as he investigates a web of intrigue involving synthetic lifeforms, the Borg, Romulans and a Federation that's not exactly what it was in "The Next Generation." CBS All Access has already green-lit the series for a second season. The streaming service is also home to a prequel series called "Star Trek: Discovery," and the upcoming "Section 31" spin-off show.
"It's felt good to bring Picard back," Stewart wrote on Twitter (you can follow him @SirPatStew). "I can't wait to reunite with our cast and crew for Season 2."

- Sam Can Picard or any of the people on Star Trek change 2D to 3D with their brain? I can. started about 15 years ago. Some strange things but my brain fixed any problems. I was watching a football game on TV and all of a sudden it was in 3D. I said that is 3D and since then 3D TV all the time. Images in magazines newspapers etc. There is nothing like seeing a painting on TV and I see the subject in 3D not like being there however. Need stereo cameras for that. A doctor told me it has happened to others for a short time. I just keep going. I do have one medical problem with it. I get hairline objects in my vision. Usually takes 30 min. to clear up. I just hope they keep going away. I revealed this before in comments on another site and I was asked if I was an alien. Nope. I am just like you . Maybe I have a gene that you don't have. As far as I know I am the only one. Anybody else have this ability? Please respond. Yes it is great to have this ability. Any smarter? W ell I did figure out a couple of years ago that DOD could have had SRB ICBM before WW2 if some smart guy had thought of it. So 13 years after the conversion. I guess I am still a slow thinker. Believe it or not. I am enjoying 3D TV. Why have not the Star Trek writers used this? They did not think of it? Reply
- Sam I watched. You did not say anything about decapitation. You should have warned me. Why don't you show that clip? Fortunately only 2 to go in the story. I was going to watch the other one, but I forgot how much violence and cussing. So I will not watch that either. I will cancel. Reply

Where to watch every star trek series & movie online.
From The Original Series, to Picard, and everything in-between: here's where every Star Trek property can currently be found on streaming platforms.
With the advent of streaming in the last decade, the deep Star Trek  library is among the most in-demand collection of properties for sci-fi fans looking to stream their favorite show or movie. First championed by Paramount, Star Trek series and films look poised to end up gathered on the company's latest online outlet Paramount+. Before this, however, individual properties found homes on a variety of services, some of which still live there today. Whether it's the original Shatner-led show or the latest Pine-led movie, here's a handy guide to the Star Trek streaming landscape as it currently stands, and predictions for the future of the IP.
Since The Original Series kicked off what would become one of the earliest and largest media franchises, there have been 9 additional television series released, some live-action and some animated, totaling over 700 episodes of content. They are as follows: The Animated Series (1974), The Next Generation (1988-1994), Deep Space Nine (1993-1999), Voyager (1995-2001), Enterprise (2002-2005), Discovery (2018-), Short Treks (2019-2020), Picard , (2020-), and Lower Decks (2020-). The success of some of these series supported film adaptations: six using the original crew, four based off The Next Generation , and three so-called "Kelvin" reboots , with a fourth planned. Most of these are available to stream, but different services host different properties.

With ViacomCBS getting into the streaming business, IP produced after the rollout of CBS All-Access, later Paramount+, lives exclusively on its home service. It stands to reason that, as exclusivity and licensing contracts expire, each Star Trek show and movie will eventually find its way onto Paramount+, just as certain Marvel Studios properties continued to stream on Netflix before eventually consolidating on Disney+ months after that service's rollout.

- There are now 12 shows and 13 movies in the "Star Trek" franchise.
- The iconic sci-fi series focuses on the lives of Starfleet members as they explore the universe.
- Most "Star Trek" titles are available to stream on Paramount Plus ($5/month).
The "Star Trek" franchise continues to boldly go where no man has gone before. From "The Original Series" in 1966 to the spin-offs, sequels, and prequels of today, "Star Trek" has been a pop culture mainstay for more than 50 years.
The franchise focuses on the adventures of various Starfleet crew members as they travel throughout the universe. And beneath the series' fun escapism, "Star Trek" movies and shows have used science fiction to comment on issues like racism, sexism, human rights, and politics. By exploring new worlds in "The Original Series," creator Gene Roddenberry was able to tell allegorical stories with thoughtful themes that relate to our own experiences.
In many ways, "Star Trek" has always highlighted diverse storytelling. In fact, one of the first interracial kisses ever aired on TV was in an episode of "The Original Series." This mix of sci-fi entertainment and social commentary is still present in the latest "Star Trek" installments, most of which air as Paramount Plus originals. "Star Trek: Discovery" introduced multiple queer leads, including the first transgender and non-binary characters in the "Star Trek" universe.
If you're a new fan looking to explore the world of "Star Trek" for the first time, or you're a devoted Trekkie who just wants to watch it all over again, we've compiled a list of every "Star Trek" movie and TV show, along with details on where you can stream them all right now.
Where to watch 'Star Trek' shows
There are 12 "Star Trek" shows in total, including nine live-action series and three animated shows. All of the shows are available on Paramount Plus, and many are also available to buy or rent from video-on-demand (VOD) services. One series, "Deep Space Nine," is also streaming on Netflix.
Where to watch 'Star Trek' movies
The "Star Trek" franchise includes 13 movies from 1979 to 2016. A new movie is also set to begin production in spring 2022. You can currently watch every "Star Trek" film on Paramount Plus. The movies are also available to buy or rent without a subscription through different VOD services, and you can stream a couple for free with ads.
'Star Trek' timeline and eras explained
"Star Trek" movies and TV shows all take place in different time periods that focus on different crews and starships. These time periods are generally categorized by fans and creators into four distinct eras: Pre-TOS, TOS, TNG, and Kelvin
Pre-TOS era
Movies and TV shows set during the Pre-The Original Series (Pre-TOS) era take place at some point before James T. Kirk becomes captain of the Enterprise.
A few notable series set during this early time period include "Star Trek: Enterprise," "Star Trek: Discovery," and " Star Trek: Strange New Worlds ."
The Original Series (TOS) era of movies and TV shows follows the crew members on the starship USS Enterprise after Kirk (William Shatner) becomes captain. Other notable characters featured during this period include Spock (Leonard Nimoy), Dr. McCoy (DeForest Kelley), Nyota Uhura (Nichelle Nichols), and Hikaru Sulu (George Takei).
The Original Series era includes the first "Star Trek" TV show from the 1960s, as well as several spin-off movies that feature Captain Kirk and his crew.
The Next Generation (TNG) era is set 100 years after Kirk's adventures during "The Original Series," and includes movies and TV shows about the new crew of the USS Enterprise with Patrick Stewart as Captain Picard.
"Deep Space Nine" and "Voyager" are set during this time period as well, but focus on other crews and starships. Captain Picard's story also continues after "The Next Generation" in the Paramount Plus original series "Star Trek: Picard."
Kelvin Timeline
The Kelvin Timeline was introduced in 2009 with the release of director J.J. Abrams' first "Star Trek" movie starring Chris Pine as Captain Kirk and Zachary Quinto as Commander Spock. This film features the crew from "The Original Series" but takes place in an alternate universe that's separate from the main "Star Trek" timeline.
In this version of events, Kirk still becomes Captain of the USS Enterprise but his path to get there is brand new, which gives the writers freedom to explore different storylines with familiar characters.
The Kelvin Timeline includes "Star Trek" (2009), "Star Trek Into Darkness" (2013), and "Star Trek Beyond" (2016). An upcoming fourth movie in the Kelvin Timeline is set to begin production in spring 2022.

Season 2 concluded with the Enterprise, Captain Pike, and Spock being left behind in the ‘present’, as the Discovery nosedived into the 32nd century to outrun an artificial intelligence program called ‘Control’. Projecting the action further into the future than any instalment of Star Trek yet, showrunners Alex Kurtzman and Michelle Paradise emancipated themselves from the constraints of existing Star Trek timelines, opening up Season 3 to the exploration of whole new worlds.
Reunited in the year 3188 are the fearless Michael Burnham; Saru, first officer of USS Discovery; science officer Paul Stamets and his husband, Dr Hugh Culber, and the ambitious Sylvia Tilly. New to the show, however, are Blu de Barrio as Adira, Ian Alexander as Gray, and David Ajala as Cleveland “Book” Booker. The latter forebodingly alludes to an event called The Burn, described as “the day the galaxy took a hard left”. How did the past play out? And what has become of the Federation, whose diminished flag we see?
It looks to be a thrillingly dramatic season, but equally, heart-warming and hopeful. So, hold on as we detail how to watch Star Trek: Discovery season 3 online, and prepare to boldly go where no one has gone before.
